A long-awaited documentary on Creedence Clearwater Revival, chronicling the band's glory days and its downfall, is being built around a never-before seen live concert that was filmed in 1970 at London's Royal Albert Hall.

The film, Travelin' Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall, marks the first time the band's original lineup has released full concert footage.

And while the concert features prominently, the film also dives into the band's "humble, yet formative years in El Cerrito, CA, to their meteoric rise in 1969, from headlining Woodstock to selling out the Oakland Coliseum before traveling through Europe and taking the stage at the Royal Albert Hall."

The film is helmed by The Beatles Anthology and Band of Gypsies - Live at the Fillmore East director Bob Smeaton and narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Jeff Bridges.

In a press release, Smeaton said working on the film was "an education" in why CCR is "worthy of their status as one of the greatest bands of all time.

"I knew they were good," he said, "I never knew they were that good."

The Royal Albert Hall footage had reportedly been locked away for 50 years before being restored for this film.

A release date for Travelin' Band has not yet been announced.

The film represents another big collaborative step between Fogerty and surviving CCR rhythm section, bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug Clifford.

After decades of animosity over CCR's breakup and rights to its catalog, Fogerty reconciled with Cook and Clifford in 2019, agreeing to work together with them on projects to preserve the band's legacy.

Later that same year, the band celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Woodstock performance by releasing the hourlong headlining set as a live album.
