The 1975's singer Matt Healy took to Instagram to share a snippet of a new song. "Monday song as a gift," the frontman captioned the post. And while he didn't specify if the snippet is part of a new song, with the band's new album Being Funny In A Foreign Language dropping on October 14th, it kind of goes without saying.

Devoted fans took to the comment section to sing their praises, "it’s stuff like this that soothes my soul. you guys can’t make bad music," one enthusiastic fan wrote. Some fans had questions about the whimsical instrumental track, "what instruments are they?" to which other fans jumped in and helped explained that it's probably chopped or sampled audio that was run through a modular synth.

Earlier this summer, the band released their first new song in two years. "Part Of The Band" sees The 1975 continue to explore the fluttering orchestral sound that is featured on their last album Notes on a Conditional Form, and melodically it is soaked in folk, channeling the storytelling of Simon & Garfunkel as Matty Healy sings "I was living my best life, living with my parents / Way before the paying penance and verbal propellants and my, my, my cancellation."

Being Funny In A Foreign Language will be available on October 14th and already got the Taylor Swift stamp of approval. Healy told Pitchfork that after listening to the album, Swift said "it's so funny" thanks to some jokes about topical issues. However, Healy also confirmed the band won't be featured on the pop star's upcoming album Midnights.
