How rich are the richest Texans?
Forbes released the 41st edition of its 400 wealthiest Americans list and a good chunk of them are from the Lone Star State. If you add up the net worth of all the billionaires on this list, it'll total over $4 trillion — which is $500 billion less than last year. The minimum net worth needed to make the cut dropped for the first time since the Great Recession (2007-2009), Forbes said of its 2022 rankings.
How was this list calculated? Simply put, Forbes used stock prices from September 2, 2022. A more detailed explanation can be found here.
