Laws are generally built on custom and and are enforced to ensure public safety. However, Arizona has some totally strange laws that are completely enforceable.

Here are five of the weirdest laws in Arizona:

You cannot feed garbage to a pig.

You can't feed any garbage to a pig in the state, but there are loopholes! You can feed you own household garbage to a pig that you raise for your own use.

Don't ignore the Stupid Motorist Law.

Anyone who willingly bypasses police-enforced barricades and becomes trapped is responsible for emergency rescue costs.

Animals have vehicle rights.

Since so many in Arizona use animals for transportation, they must follow regular traffic laws. It is also illegal to spook a horse that someone is riding.

You cannot hypnotize anyone.

It's illegal to practice hypnotism in the city of Avondale. You're free to practice it in any other city in Arizona.

No spitting on the sidewalk!

It's illegal for people to spit on public sidewalks, highways, or crosswalks in Goodyear! anyone caught doing so could be fined up to $2,500 or spend six months in prison!
