A loyal fan of the late Mac Miller couldn't believe that her tribute to the deceased rapper had a major flaw it in.
In a video posted to TikTok, Courtney, who goes by @courtney.mmk on the app, looks distraught as she reacts to the spelling error in her recent tattoo. According to The Mirror, the 19-year-old wanted to get a tattoo in honor of the late rapper's fourth studio album The Divine Feminine. When she asked her tattoo artist to ink "Divine Feminine" across her chest, he or she mistakenly spelled the first word as "Devine."
Courtney's admirable act to honor Mac happened just before the fourth anniversary of his death. The Pennsylvania native passed away in 2018 after an accidental drug overdose. He was only 26 at the time and had just released his fifth album Swimming. His fans recently celebrated his life and music at an annual event held at Pittsburgh's beloved Blue Slide Park. The park inspired the name of Miller's debut album in 2011.
Fortunately for Courtney, the mistake in her tribute won't live on forever. In a second video, she explained that she was able to go back to the tattoo artist and request an update. Luckily, they were able to give the tattoo a new font so that the previous mishap disappears into the ink. She also addressed critics who believe she should've gotten "The Divine Feminine" and not just "Divine Feminine."
"You can't tell," she said about the ink's former mistake. "And if you can, I don't give a s**t because it's my body and not yours. Also people are saying its wrong because it says 'Divine Feminine' and not 'The Divine Feminine' and like... it's not that deep man. Yeah it's a tribute to Mac but it's not that f**king deep."
