This List Of The Most Common Fast Food Chains In Texas Might Surprise You

It seems like there's a Whataburger around every corner, but this new report says otherwise!

Stacker compiled a list of the most common fast food chains in Texas using data from the Friendly City Lab at Georgia Tech that shows how many locations there are in Texas in 2021. "Since many restaurants have shuttered during the pandemic, these figures are expected to differ from the current actual count. Fast food, fast casual, and coffee chains were considered for the list. Data was available for 57,610 restaurants in Texas, of which 28,367 are chain restaurants," Stacker said about its list.

In the Lone Star State, the most common fast food chain is Subway with a whopping 2,108 locations across the state. Next up is McDonald's, with just over 1,100 locations and Sonic with just shy of 1,000 locations. Whataburger is on the list, but not until No. 5 with 716 locations, just behind Pizza Hut's 805 locations.
