Nicki Minaj Teases New Song After Epic Carnival Experience In Trinidad

Nicki Minaj plans to provide more island vibes for the Barbz on her upcoming single.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, February 23, the Caribbean-born spitta posted a clip of her upcoming record "Red Ruby Da Sleeze." In the video, fans can see Nicki Minaj performing the song in a packed venue while surrounded by people dancing behind her. The record samples Lumidee's smash hit "Never Leave You (Uh Oh)," which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. In the caption, the "Super Freaky Girl" rapper announced the song's title and confirmed its release date.
"Red Ruby Da Sleeze" will be Nicki's first single of 2023 following an active year full of new music. It'll arrive after she dropped her "Likkle Miss" remix with Skeng and "Tukoh Taka" featuring Maluma and Myriam Fares for the FIFA World Cup.
Nicki Minaj released the preview of her new song after her grand trip to her birthplace Trinidad & Tobago to celebrate Carnival. In a series of videos and photos she shared to Instagram, the Port of Spain native takes her fans through the streets of Trinidad as she parties with revered soca-dancehall artists Machel Montano, Patrice Roberts, Skeng and Destra. At one point, we can see Minaj perform "Shake The Place" (Remix), which is her recent collaboration with Montano and Destra.
"LEGENDARY FOOTAGE WITH THE GREATS OF MY COUNTRY," Nicki Minaj wrote in her caption. "I COULDN’T BE MORE PROUD IF I TRIED. I REPPIN DAT RED DAT WHITE DAT BLACK I REPPIN MY REAL FLAG. wish my grandmother was alive to see this. Wish daddy was alive to see this. See you tmrw, Trinidad."
