After a months-long investigation, authorities in Oregon have linked the deaths of four women killed in the Portland area between February and May.

The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office said that they have identified a "person of interest" connected to the deaths of the women. Officials said the person has not been charged and did not provide any details about how investigators linked the murders of Kristin Smith, 22, Charity Perry, 24, Bridget Webster, 31, and Ashley Real, 22.

Smith was reported missing in December 2022. Her body was found on February 19 in a wooded area in Portland's Pleasant Valley neighborhood. The body of Charity Perry was discovered in a trench along the East Historic Columbia River Highway on April 24.

Six days later, the body of Bridget Webster was found on the side of the road in Polk County. The final victim, Ashley Real, was found in a wooded area in Clackamas County.

All the bodies were found in wooded areas within 100 miles of each other.

Investigators said that the state medical examiner's office is still working to determine the cause and manner of death in each case.

"Based on the available information to investigators, there is not believed to be any active danger to the community at this time," the Multnomah County District Attorney said in a statement.
