Hank Williams Jr. and his fiancée, Brandi, have tied the knot!
The legendary country star, 74, shared the news that he has a new wife on his Facebook page on Monday (September 11). The newlyweds married in a ceremony in front of a small group of loved ones in Alabama on Saturday (September 9), according to the post. Williams and his new wife, Brandi, 43, got engaged on Mother’s Day this year, and they’ve known one another for two decades.
“Please congratulate Mr. And Mrs. Hank Williams Jr! Hank and Brandi were married on Sept 9, 2023 at Enon Baptist Church in Banks, Alabama in front of a small group of family and friends,” the statement reads. “A reception followed at Kendall Hall in Troy, Alabama. They had gotten engaged earlier this year on Mothers Day. The bride and groom have known each other and been friends since 2003.”
Williams announced earlier this month (on September 4) that he and Brandi are engaged. He shared at that time: “The newly engaged outlaw country music and southern rock legend Hank Williams, Jr. alongside his beautiful and lovely fiancé[e] Brandi.”
Though the now-newlywed couple have largely remained out of the public eye, Williams introduced her on his Instagram account with a photo in January, writing in the caption: “sweethearts, Hank & Brandi.”
Williams is remarrying after losing his wife last year. The music legend and Mary Jane Thomas, his third wife, were married for more than three decades. Thomas died in March 2022 at age 58, after suffering an injury during a cosmetic procedure that led to a collapsed lung. The couple’s son, Sam Williams, remembered his mother as “a beautiful soul who forever affected everyone who knew her.”
