Google Chrome is introducing a new feature that allows users to install any webpage as a desktop app on Mac, similar to Safari in macOS Sonoma.

The feature, spotted in the latest Chrome Canary build, includes an option called "Install page as app" in the Settings menu.

Websites like YouTube and Reddit with their own web apps will automatically appear as optional installs.

Chrome's implementation of web apps offers a simplified toolbar and settings menu, thanks to its support for Progressive Web Apps.

Users can try out the feature in the latest Canary 124 update by enabling two new flags.
