Would you consider your town to be one of the best in the state? Quaint, thriving communities complete with no more than a few stop lights and neighbors who know each other by name cover the state, each offering something entirely unique to residents and visitors alike.

Wether you inhabit one of these cute, close knit communities, or visit often to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the city, there is one Nebraska town known for being the best in the state.

According to a list compiled by World Atlas, the best small town in all of Nebraska is Nebraska City.

Here's what World Atlas had to say about the best small town in the entire state:

"Nebraska City, as its name implies, is a lovely town in the state of Nebraska. Credited as the oldest incorporated city in the state, there is tons of heritage seeping through the streets. Visitors in town have various options to spend their time, from knowing it as "The Home of Arbor Day" to visiting the Lewis and Clark Center. If you celebrate Arbor Day, you’ll be glad to know that Nebraska City was pivotal in establishing the annual tree planting day. Specifically, one can visit Arbor Lodge State Historical Park, the home of the first Secretary of Agriculture, J. Sterling Morton, who promoted and established the festival. On the flip side, learn about exploration at the Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark Visitor Center. Along with its lengthy name, this center boasts information, memorabilia, and exhibits on the pivotal U.S. expedition."
