Tom Morello fans at England's Download Fest were in for a surprise over the weekend. During his set, the Rage Against the Machine guitarist brought out 14-year-old Nandi Bushell to help him cover John Lennon's "Power to the People." As always, the English prodigy absolutely annihilated the drum kit during the performance and seemed just as comfortable onstage as everyone else in the band.

Bushell shared footage of the performance on Instagram with the caption "POWER TO THE PEOPLE! Thank youย @tommorelloย you are a LEGEND!" The post sparked an enthusiastic comment from Morello's bandmate Brad Wilk. "Whooooooo! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅAwesome Nandi!!!!!!" wrote the RATM drummer.

This isn't the first time Morello and Bushell have collaborated together. In 2021, sheย released an original song called "The Children Will Rise Up"ย that was co-written by the guitaristย and his son Roman. Bushell has also showed her RATM fandom in the past, sharing a cover of "Killing in the Name" that she recorded with her younger brother in 2022.

At the beginning of the year, Wilk shared some disappointing news with RATM fans when he revealed the band was breaking up. โ€œI want to let you know that RATM (Tim [Commerford], Zack [de la Rocha], Tom [Morello], and I) will not be touring or playing live again," he said at the time.
