One Chicago resident is now millions of dollars richer after a random trip to their local grocery store.

According to Illinois Lottery, the Logan Square native purchased a Powerball ticket at the Foodsmart located at 3415 West Diversey Avenue, and their life changed forever. The fortunate lottery player did not have the lottery ticket on their list when they walked into the store, but ended up winning a whopping $2 million!

The owner of the Foodsmart in Logan Square shared their excitement regarding the win, stating that it was also great news for the store!

"We are so excited. When I heard that we sold a $2 million winning Powerball ticket, I thought ‘What a lucky day for somebody… and for us, too!"

This is the second massive winning ticket sold at the store in the last six months. Talk about a lucky location!

"Within the past six months we’ve had two huge wins, because late last year we also sold a $277,777 winning scratch-off ticket. It seems to me like there’s some sort of luck going on at our location!"

The store owner continued:

"The customer who won the $277,777 prize was so ecstatic, and it was her first time in our store. She mentioned she was feeling lucky that day and bought a $5 scratch-off lottery ticket. We found out right away that she won – and she’s been coming back to our store ever since."

The identity of the $2 million winner or the store owner was not revealed.
