YG aims to turn down the heat in his hometown of Los Angeles by helping two rival gangs make peace.
On Sunday, August 18, the Compton native hosted a peace walk that signified the end of a 10-year beef between two rival gangs. In footage he posted to his Instagram Story, you can see YG walking with numerous members and their families. According to TMZ, the walk began at Gonzales Park. YG met with people from the community and posed for photos with fans before they made their way down Rosecrans Avenue. At one point, The Game also joined the festivities and took photos with fans whenever he could.

During the peace walk, the "Shake" rapper and his crew made a pit stop at Tam's Burgers for a meal and posted up while music played. The restaurant is used to the massive crowds. It's the same location that appears in Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" video. The peace walk happened after YG reportedly served as a mediator who convinced both gangs to put their differences behind them.
YG's effort to make a change in his community happened days after he dropped his latest project Just Re'd Up 3. The project holds 19 tracks in total with hits like "Knock" and "Stupid" with Lil Yachty & Babyface Ray. He also recruits Saweetie, Larry June, Tee Grizzley, Ty Dolla $ign, Kalan.Frfr and more. The walk was just his latest community-based event in his hometown. YG and his 4Hunnid Ways Foundation recently hosted a back-to-school drive with Believe In Giving (B.I.G) in Inglewood. He was able to bless families with free school supplies, food, clothing, and more.
