Rap Rising: Benny The Butcher Drops Long-Awaited Collaboration With Drake

Benny The Butcher and Drake's rumored collaboration has finally hit streaming services.
On Friday, August 23, the head of the Black Soprano Family delivered his new EP Buffalo Butch Vol. 1. The three-pack consists of a few freestyles including "Penny & Shaq Freestyle" featuring 38 Spesh, "Hard Way Freestyle" with Fabolous, and "Buffalo Freestyle" featuring Drizzy. On the latter track, Drake kicks off the track by namdropping Nicki Minaj and paying homage to the late Nipsey Hussle.
"My résumé is thicker than Nicki, I'm busy-busy/I remember doing halftime at Jackson, Mississippi," Drake raps. "Wasn't drivin' Cadillac then, but s**t still found a way to escalate quickly/Wanted people to miss me, changed s**t after Nipsey."
Benny The Butcher first previewed the song back in 2021 during his set at Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash. Since then, the song was leaked on the Internet but it never officially made it to DSP's until today. Benny's EP comes a couple of weeks after he dropped Summertime Butch with his BSF artists.
"Buffalo Freestyle" is one of several tracks that landed on iHeartRadio's Rap Rising playlist. Other songs that top the list include Babyface Ray and BossMan Dlow's "Counting Money" plus Tee Grizzley's "Detroit" featuring 42 Dugg. You can also hear several tracks from Travis Scott's Days Before Rodeo mixtape, which also debuted on streaming services today.
