Green Day Reveal What They Want Fans To Get Out Of Their 13th Album

Green Day stopped by the iHeartRadio theatre ahead of their Hella Mega Tour to perform a few hits and hint at new music on the way.

First and foremost, lead singer Billy Joe Armstrong expressed his desire to star in a soap opera. Yes, you read that correctly.

"This is very true," the standout shared, joking that he wanted to be apart of The Young and the Restless. In addition to unveiling an unexpected new passion, Armstrong shared some of the challenges the band faced creating their 13th studio album, citing the origin of the melodies it features.

"I feel like we really wanted to give everyone a rock 'n' roll lesson. So, you know, I think that's just something I grew up on, and it's always been apart of me and I listen to it every single day. I listen to old bands and new bands, and all that so yeah, we're just keeping it real."
