Beavers Build Dams in 2 Days - Government Been Planning for 7 Years
February 10, 2025
All the way back in 2018, the Czech Republic started a project to build several dams in the Brdy Nature Park, and after seven years they managed to build exactly none of them. The cost for the dams was estimated at around $1.2-million, but the ones who actually built them didn’t charge anything. A few beavers took exactly two days to build functional dams in the right areas to restore the wetlands. Keep in mind, it wasn’t getting the money that made seven years pass with no action from the government; it was the paperwork to get the necessary permits. Jaroslav Obermajer, the head of the Central Bohemian office of the Czech Nature and Landscape Protection Agency said, “Beavers always know best.”
