Noah Weiland paid tribute to his late father Scott Weiland with a cover of Stone Temple Pilots' "Sex Type Thing." The cover is a stripped down version of STP's debut single, which appears on their first album Core, and features Noah's vocals and acoustic guitar by Spencer Carr Reed. The young musician also shared a music video with a special meaning.

"filmed this about a dream i had long ago about seeing my father again," he wrote on Instagram. "it’s hard for me to stay in the moment sometimes, but i try."

The visuals look like they're filmed on a camcorder (think home video) and depicts Noah spending a day with his dad. Only, his dad is a Chucky doll. Noah sprinkled captions in the clip to give context about the dream and missing his father, sharing thoughts like "“There was so much I wanted to tell him, like how much has changed on Earth without him." He concluded the video with a particularly emotional message: “I wish I could dream about you forever," he wrote. "But it’s OK … because for now I will carry on your legacy.”

Noah's been carrying on that legacy through his own music, which includes a song with never-before-heard vocals from Scott. Watch Noah's "Sex Type Thing" video below.
