Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean's eldest daughter hates one of the band's most popular songs "with a passion."
The "Everybody" hitmaker recently told People that Elliot, 12, born 13 years after the track hit airwaves, absolutely cannot stand one of the songs featured on their third studio album, Millennium, released in 1999.
The child, unlike millennials across the globe, is not a fan of "I Want It That Way" because the boys at school tease her about it when she gets dropped off. McLean revealed that he joins in with her classmates because "that's what dads do."
"My oldest daughter hates that song, hates it with a passion because she gets teased at school when she walks into school. When I drop her off, the boys [sing the lyrics], 'Tell me why,' and she's like, 'Stop doing that,' And then I start doing it to embarrass her because that's what dads do."
Elliot, whom the star shares with ex-wife Rochelle DeAnna McLean, might not be the biggest fan of "I Want It That Way," but her dad revealed that she does have a soft spot for a few of the beloved group's tracks. And we don't blame her! Backstreet Boys plan to release a reimagined version of their turn-of-the-century record on July 11, the same day they kick off their two-month "Into The Millennium" residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
People mentioned that the reimagined album, Millennium 2.0, will feature six new demos McLean and bandmates Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, and Howie Dorough will perform live at the iconic venue for the first time ever!
