Trick Daddy is one of several artists who will get a street in Miami named in their honor, and he approves the bold move.

On Tuesday, March 25, the seasoned rapper from Liberty City voiced his opinion about the Miami-Dade County Commission's decision to rename several streets in his hometown after popular songs by Miami-born artists during an interview with Papa Keith and District 3 Commissioner Keon Hardemon on 103.5 The Beat. During the discussion, Trick called Hardemon, the commissioner who proposed the idea, a "stand-up guy." He also plans to be in attendance for the official street naming ceremony.

"[Hardemon] is doing something good for the community," Trick says. "And whenever they break ground on this thing on 18th Avenue, I'm gon' be there. I'ma have the Sunday's truck out there and any other thing that's available for me that we can talk about — any property I can purchase, any business I can put there — I'm on that."

The streets between 18th Avenue and 19th Avenue in Liberty City will be replaced with songs by popular Miami artists like Trick, Trina, Uncle Luke, Mike Smiff, Ice Billion Berg, City Girls and others. The new street names include "Trick Love The Kids Street," "We the Best Terrace" inspired by DJ Khaled, Uncle Luke's "It's Your Birthday Street," "Bad Boys Bad Boys Street" based on Inner Circle's hit and more. Even Jacki-O, a former Miami artist who left the music industry, will get her own "People Change Street" as well as the late Betty Wright, Flo Rida, Kodak Black, Ball Greezy and plenty others.

"18th Avenue became my jurisdiction in 2020," Hardemon explains. "I rebirthed this idea of renaming streets after motivational things. So I said 18th Avenue is an entertainment area, and it always has been. But now, if I rename these streets after lyrics that means something to our community I think we can bring tourism there and I think we can have renewed interest in it."
