Jeffrey O. Kennerk, a 34-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was indicted after being caught with a "small arsenal" of weapons on an Amtrak train in Trenton, New Jersey. The discovery began when a New Jersey Transit Police officer noticed an unattended zebra-print suitcase at Newark Penn Station. Inside, authorities found a handgun with a loaded 18-round magazine, an AR-style magazine, and an AK-47-style rifle with multiple loaded magazines.

Kennerk was found with assault weapons, large-capacity magazines, handguns, silencers, and a booby-trapped rifle that discharged during his arrest. He faces several charges, including possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, and endangering others.

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin stated, "This defendant allegedly hauled a small arsenal of deadly weapons and ammunition through busy transit stations, and on a train filled with passengers."

Deputy Attorney General Karen Bracizewsk will lead the prosecution against Kennerk, who remains in custody awaiting trial.
