Speaker 1 (00:02):
Is the best of two pros and a couple Joe
with Lamar airings rating Win and Jonas Knox on Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Oh, the relationship is over. What a topic on Valentine's Day.
We'll get to that momentarily. We're broadcasting live from the
tire rack dot Com studios. Tire rack dot Com. We'll
get you there and on Max's selection fast free shipping,
three road hazard protection and over ten thousand recommended installers
tier rack dot com the way tire buying should be.

(00:37):
Good morning to you, Jeff Schwartz. I'll tell you what, man,
I don't know how you're gonna make it through this show,
and I don't know through this year. That might be
a little too far. But how about the Jets on
the eve of Valentine's Day yesterday saying Aaron Rodgers, We're
moving on, man, we can't do this anymore. They go
their separate ways on Valentine's Day eve. Huh, what's timing

(01:00):
right there?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
It really is upsetting and it really takes away from
the day. I mean, you know, I think that you know,
you want to have a day of love and celebration today,
you know, and unfortunately we can't do now. We can
actually celebrate that Aaron Rodgers is no longer employed by
the Jets. I think the Jets fans are celebrating this

(01:22):
this morning, right. They're super pumped that they don't have
Aaron Rodgers, the QUIP member that has been a disaster.
And Brian looked this was going to happen. It's just
Aaron Glenn was hired. It was gonna happen. When when
when Robert Sala was fired. I don't know about you.
I don't know what you thought. I guess when Aaron

(01:43):
Rodgers was traded, we I don't know if we were
doing radio that's springing together. But I thought it wouldn't
be as fruitful as they hoped it would be. I'm
not sure I thought it'd be as bad as it was.
I mean, this has been all time disaster trade for
the There's no other way around it. He gets hurt
on the first on the first series of the first

(02:05):
game in twenty twenty three, and then last year was
a dumpster fire. And even I think the people that
thought it would go poorly never thought I'd go this bad.
People thought it was it would go well or too
optimistic in life, and they need to kind of take
it down a second, But I just never thought it

(02:26):
would be this bad, and I think that moving forward,
the most interesting part to me is is Aaron Rodgers
done the Jets parts boring? To me? An other finn,
another quarterback or whatever. I mean, the Jets have been
irrelevant for twelve years now, I don't that's to me,
that's not the fun story here. I think Aaron Glenn
will be fine as a coach. I love this introjunctory
press conference. But then again, the coaches who have the

(02:49):
best press conference to start seemed to be the ones
that always stank. Are the ones that we think, like,
oh what a what a weird press conference? Dix siro
Oni had? I mean super Bowl champion, right? Dan Campbell's
kneecaps always don't. The line is make them better?

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Right?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
So press conference means nothing to me. But to me,
what happens to Aared Rogers? Now he's the most fasting.
Sorry by the way my voice. I you know, when
you spend six days in New Orleans, you come back
with sickness most often. That's just I think that's a
natural rule for traveling somewhere like that for six days.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yeah, you mentioned the Aaron Glenn introductory press conference. And
this is probably the most memorable part. Here's here's Aaron Glenn,
former Jets player now current Jets head coach. Here you go,
put your SEATBUFS one to get ready for the rude. Listen.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
There are going to be some challenges, but what challenges
becomes opportunity gets opportunity. But here's what I do know.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
We're the freaking New York Jets.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
So we're bill for the.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I the freaking New York Jets. We're built for this
bleep over here.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I feel like if you're a Jets fan, you probably
you probably love that.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Well yeah, I mean what fan base doesn't love someone
saying we're built for this.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
But man, this Jets fan base, they've been through it.
How many years are we talking about? Fourteen years since
they've been in the playoffs. It's the longest strout. Yeah,
Like I get it, Jeff. Where if you're you're the
new guy in town? Yeah, and that's Aaron Glenn. Look,
it's hard to be known as all right, we got

(04:23):
the new he's the sheriff. Now you know, we got
our new head coach in town. If Aaron Rodgers is
your quarterback and he's sort of playing by his own rules,
right Like, that doesn't match.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
No, No, Look, when you have a new coach, you
typically will pair the new coach, oftentimes with the new
general manager, right. That happens often, and then they want
their own quarterback. So if you notice, and I know
the story came out yesterday, it's not accurate, but there
was a story that Trevor Lawrence for Jacksonville was being shopped,

(04:55):
which seems impossible when you think about because they don't
even have a general manager. So I'm not sure how
they can shop a quarterback. But it makes sense in
the in the in the essence that most often coaches
want their own guys a quarterback, and that includes Aaron
Rodgers not being there because they want their own voice,

(05:15):
they want their own message, and there's no there's no
emotional attachment to having a guy Aarondger roster, especially when
he's not good. Right Like, if it ay to me
we were to retire, of course you would keep Mahomes.
But Aaron Rodgers wasn't good last year. I there's no
reason to keep a guy like that, who is as
outspoken as he is if he's not going to help

(05:37):
you win football games. So they want their own guys.
So just from like that base level, this made sense
for them to want to get rid of Aaron Rodgers.
Then you add on to it sort of the noise
around him, because he's a noisy player. He's on, you know,
he's on does media and some of the I mean,
are we gonna call the conspiracy theories? I don't what
I'm gonna call it that alternative methods of thinking about life.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
You know, you.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Some people believe in that stuff. Don't wanna, don't want
to you know, I don't want to come here this
morning and say that. You know that you can't believe
what you want on this on this day of love.
But they are alternative methods to life. Okay, when all
those things are all together at once, you know, and
he's not good, you're gonna get rid of him. So
then you get rid of Rogers. Is not a surprise
at all. I did find interesting that it came out

(06:25):
before they were looking to fire him, essentially right that
there was no McAfee allowed. Yeah, which is a a
way to sort of regain the narrative and set some
boundaries for your franchise. It's hard. I think when you're

(06:46):
a new coach and you're trying to set the culture
for your team and your quarterback is on a national
program every Tuesday talking about your team, and sort of
the message is coming from his mouth, not from the
team's mouth, if that makes sense. Yeah, and there's nothing
wrong with Aron Rodgers doing that. I mean, lots of

(07:07):
players have their own podcasts. But look, man, I've made
this argument. I don't know if to you, I think
we should have less players with podcasts. I think sometimes
it really hurts. Not the image is the wrong word,
but like there are some of these players say things
that I think are just better kept to themselves while

(07:27):
they're playing football, and I think the podcast that some
of these guys do are a detriment to not their image,
but just their team. It's okay just to like not
have anything to say while you're playing, Like you don't
have to have a podcast. And that's what the Jets
are telling Rodgers, like, hey man, let's keep everything in house.

(07:48):
Let's we're gonna reset the message. It's gonna be our message.
And I didn't see much outrage for it. I think
people just don't like Aaron Rodgers on the Internet, But
I did financialing that that lead doubt well before they
were going to cut him, which I think we all
thought was gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Anyways, Well, yeah, and it just it shows you how
much it plays regressed. You know, it's just not it's
not one of these deals where who cares if he's
putting up these huge numbers if he's going on the
Pat McAfee show. Do you think the Jets or anything
would really care if he's putting up, you know, these
numbers is very productive. There's just no way. But now

(08:26):
that there's a new regime and it's like, hey, how
about less trips to Egypt right before the season and
less mcaffee the season.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
So they want him to to take the beat all
the mandatory things. I'm gotta tell you. I know we
covered this, like I say at the time that I
didn't know how it manifests itself, but I thought missing
mandatory mini camp was not great. Yeah, time, I believe

(08:57):
I said that right, And the pushback I got was
those who don't don't remember or at the end of
at the end of the off season program for the NFL,
which is voluntary and most guys go, there's a mandatory
mini camp. Right. It's the same weekend every single season
for every single team, and it's the one mandatory event
you have to be at. And it's sort of like

(09:17):
address rehearsal for training camp, right, install the playbook quickly again,
and you know, no pads or on. I mean, it's
low key. It's most you know, most teams cancel the
final day of a mini camp. But the fact is
is that it's like a mandatory thing, right. You know
it's coming, and everyone, no matter what, drops is in

(09:38):
sort of you know, program is for yourself. Everyone's there.
It's mandatory, like you just show up. Your entire teams
there for two or three days and you get to
work in and you get ready for training camp. And
Rogers didn't show up. He was in Egypt for whatever
thing he was doing. And you know, I get I
said at the time, I thought that that's not really,

(09:59):
in my opinion, a great way to show that you're
a leader of a team when you can't show up
to a mandatory event. And the pushback I got was, well,
he was at other stuff. I don't I don't care, Brian,
because the thing that he had to be at he
wasn't at, so like, yeah, he was at the other
stuff that was voluntary, but the one thing on your
calendar you had to be at, he chose to be

(10:21):
in Egypt doing whatever he does. And that to me
just kind of stood out as like a selfish move, right,
And again I didn't know how it manifest itself, Like
I didn't know that it would end up basically being
a disaster this season. But I think part of that again,
that one event him not showing up is sort of
the idea that he's just not fully in. He's not
fully committed because the one thing you had to be

(10:43):
at he wasn't at. And whatever excuse you want to get,
he gave the team notice, who cares He wasn't with
his teammates in the time that they expect him to
be there. And I know they said it was fine,
But it's not fine, Brian, I think, and I think
it ended up just kind of showing itself season with
his play and they just it's not all in right,

(11:05):
It's not only with the Jets, And you know the
Jets cutting him was a pretty easy decision.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah, well, now you spin it forward to what now
is there a team? That is question? We could use
some Aaron Rodgers going forward?

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Here is that?

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Is that the Raiders? What my thing is, why would
Aaron Rodgers say yes to the Raiders?

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Why?

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Like it would just be for money and maybe notoriety
to not retire and go on a show here or there.
And it's better for him if he's an active quarterback
instead of retired. That's it. I mean, where do you
think the Raiders are going with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback?
They're going nowhere and he would know that. So what
happens from here on out is very interesting to me.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
It is I wonder if if RFK has a spot
for him and as his cabinet. I don't know if
he gets a cabinet as a new job, but you
hang out with with with with RFK, I don't look
Rogers at a point in his career where he's probably
not an option as a veteran backup somewhere, like no

(12:11):
one's going to bring them to mentor anyone, right, Like
you don't know, So you got to think that he
wants to start, And the question is, of course, like
where would that be who really had who really gives
an opportunity for him a start? And that makes sense, right,
that to make sense, and the Raiders have come to
mind right as maybe a team that makes sense for him.

(12:35):
But to your point, it's the question is like why,
I'll give you the why. I think I have a
why for this. Pete Carroll is their new coach, and
they might not drift the quarterback this season. It's not
a great quarterback year. And I can make the case
that the Raiders are so void of talent that just
they need good football players and for going a quarter

(12:58):
for going quarterback this year in lieu of just a
good football player to make their roster better might be
the best way to treat the draft Brian. And so
that leaves him without a quarterback. I mean, you can
roll back O'Connell if you'd like, I guess, but I'm
not sure that that's really like a smart option. So
Aaron Rodgers, you bring him in for a season. Pete

(13:20):
Carre's a little wacky too, you know, both whacky together,
and you know it's kind of like what wacky dudes
and whatnot. And and you have a year where just
Rogers is a veteran on your team. It's a one
year deal. He's better than nothing, right, he's better than
no quarterback on the roster, and that's how this goes
for him. Like I could see that sort of being

(13:41):
the justification for one year for Rogers with with Pete
character sort of needing somebody to just be an adult.
I mean, if we would call that in the room,
you know, and just having an option better than a
no Connell, which Rogers is, by the way, I mean
we might not think Rogers any could So that's the
case for him. There, that's the only team, Like, that's
the only team, you know, Minnesota, No, right, Minnesota needs

(14:06):
to play McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Steers. Steelers has come up before. What do you think
about that? Little Tomlin and Rogers.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
That doesn't feel like a good personality fit. I'm not
gonna lie. Sure, yeah there, yeah, I mean, I guess Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh.
We thought about Pittsburgh when at some point they had
to just go for it and they need to go
get themselves a quarterback like something of the future, just
make a move, stops being in the middle of everything.

(14:38):
I don't know what Pittsburgh feels like.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Not not a great option, Brian, it doesn't to me either,
But no, I could see them it would be the
ultimate indictment on the quarterbacks that they have. Because listen,
you might not be a big Russell Wilson fan, and
I get it, but Russell Wilson has many more years
than Aaron Rodgers does. And if they're just like, yeah,

(15:01):
let's just let's take the one year over the multiple years,
that would tell you all you need to know about
how they feel about Russell Wilson.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Wes is not good. It's it's you know, fans have
a hard time just being like, yeah, that player is
not good anymore. And Russell Wilson is not good, and
it's okay, just like it's okay to say that he's fine.
I mean, is he the worst quarterback in the NFL? Nope,
he's not good anymore. Right, And Rogers, I mean I
think I think Rogers is better. I really don't know.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Wow, that's that's even damning for Rogers too, you know, is.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
I would say Rogers, It's just there's just so many
other thing with Rogers. It's just you know, so many
sort of feels like other things that take up his mind,
which again, dude, players have. It's it's okay to outside
of interest. But again, players have podcasts, I mean, one
of the best players in the world is dating Taylor Swift.
I mean, you can have other interests outside of football,

(15:55):
but it seems like again those interest if they interfere
with you know, your job, that's where teams don't like
those things. So that, yeah, that will play a role
in determining I think who wants Aaron Rodgers Man.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
We got a lot to do on this show, Jeff,
I'm looking forward to it. We have a a Valentine's
Day theme. Oh that applies directly to the sports world. Huh.
How could we overlook love on a day like today?
We we can't, can't do that at all, So that
will be highlighted here today. Absolutely, yes, I know when

(16:35):
I think that's right, when I think big love guy,
I immediately think Jeff Schwartz.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Right, how if it's a day of hater eight, that's
that's where I shine.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Absolutely the opposite.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Of Valentine's Day. That's I'm I am shine right there.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yeah, we will get to the Valentine's Day theme in
the next hour, but coming up next on Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe Live from the Tyrack dot
Com studios. Can you imagine if this team gets this player,
He's Jeff Schwartz. I'm Brian No. Keep it locked right here.
On Fox Sports.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Radio, be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington,
and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Oh, what is going on the biggest draw of a
particular league. We will get to that momentarily. Also, Jeff
Valentine's Day theme. We bring it to you starting this hour,
looking forward to that. We're broadcasting live from the tyrack
dot com studios. Tire rack dot com will help get
you there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road

(17:49):
hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirack dot
com the way tire buying should be So. Anthony Edwards
of the Timberwolves Thunderous Dunk last night on chet hoolme
grin Uh. It was quite the play and say Aunt
was talking trash in chet Hoolmgren's face. No technical, I'm like,

(18:13):
I'm fine with that, no problem. But normally you can't
dunk in someone's face and then just talk trash to
them all the way down the court. They're normally like whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa whoa. Tech can't do that. They were just like,
go ahead, man, you deserve to tell them about it.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Him anti penalization for grown men talking things out, okay,
Like they are grown men. They're in a professional sport.
If you get dunked on thunderously as you put it,
oh man, you should you should have to face the
consequence of being mocked and then being mocked by the

(18:51):
person who did it. I actually think there should be
more trash talking sometimes. No, that's fine, don't don't let
him didn't talk.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Yeah, no, it was good like and that's a big
part of basketball.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
You know.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
One of the most popular movies is White Men Can't Jump. Yes,
it's guys just talking trash. It's a big part of basketball,
you know. You know what's this is a side rant
real fast here, Jeff, please, is.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
You talk about how college football in the NFL are
just different sports. There's so many major differences between the two.
It's true. One of the major differences also is the
way trash talking is policed. You can't do any of
it in the NFL. It's jarring when you just start
watching some college games and what they get away with,

(19:45):
like they they will like a dB and a wide
receiver in particular, they might be talking trash in college,
They're like, eh, whatever, no harm, no foul, it's fine.
There's no way you could do half the stuff in
the NFL. They just don't allow it.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
They don't. And it's so funny because again, like the NFL,
I mean, we're adults, Like we feel like you should
be able to police out ourselves, right, Like yeah, yeah,
I mean every now and then it leads to a fight,
but like not a lot. Like I don't like one
time in ten years, Like it's a thing that there's
not a fighting epidemic happening in the National Football League.

(20:22):
And yeah, absolutely should let him talk. So good for
Anthony Edwards, you know, obviously being okay, see in that way,
as we start to you've always you're always an NBA guy,
I get, you know, I start getting into it this
time of year obviously with much less football, so you know,
good to see a little NBA on Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yeah, so this got my NBA brain working here, Jeff
with Anthony Edwards with the thunderous dunkles at Home grin.
I just started thinking, which player is most likely going
to be the biggest draw for the NBA after Lebron
and Steph retire. Who's the guy who's the biggest draw

(21:04):
of the dudes that are still going to be starring
in the NBA when those guys are no longer here.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
So now it's Luca. I don't think it was going
to be Luca if he stayed in Dallas, but I
think it's Luca now. I think previous to that it
might be And this is Look, this is a hard
part of the discussions. Oklahoma City, like your Oklahoma City.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
It's not your fault. Yeah, it's not your fault. You're there,
you know. But I mean, SGA would be a perfect
guy to be the future. But he's in Oklahoma City.
And that's it's not the way the NBA. It works.
In the NFL, your biggest player can be Patrick Mahomes.
It's just the NBA has never worked that way. The
biggest players have always been in LA, in Chicago, New York, Miami.

(21:54):
It's very very rare that for any amount of time
it's been in a Midwest city, you know. So I
think now with the Luca trade. It's Luca. I mean, look,
La is a star town, man, It is a star town.
Is a place that elevates those superstars. And I just

(22:14):
think that's gonna continue with with Luca in La and
look to keep getting those stars somehow. I don't know
what what what how they do it sometimes, but you know,
for fifty years, I've gotten that that superstar and they're
building and it's gonna be Luca in la They're gonna
build a team around him. Obviously I would have loved
to see Mark Williams on that team. Didn't happen. But

(22:36):
do you have a better answer. I mean, I don't
think it's Wemby and I don't.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Yeah, you know, that's the thing is Luca in la
Like if you put Luca on the Spurs and Wemby
in Laos, it's Wemby right, Like that's the power of
the Lakers brand and it just moves the needle people. People,
This isn't breaking news. People care more about the Lakers
than the Spurs. That's just the way it goes.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
Man.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
But Wemby if not for the Spurs, just it's like, man,
if they're making deep playoff runs, Yeah, we're talking about
the casual fan. I could see them like, hey, let's
watch this alien of a basketball player who can do everything,
Like he's blocking double digit shots sometimes.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
He also was the other side of flat footed block
thro other night, which is incredible. Okay, well here, so
here's you're thinking about webeny though, and I guess the
same question could be applied for Luca and Jokich, like
can NBA have a foreign born player be the star
of the league, because really, I don't think we've had that.

(23:43):
I'm thinking I'm going through my head of like stars NBA.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
We've had stars, but like the star of the league. Yeah, no,
right right, I think it's possible. I think they're capable of.
Just look at the Luca trade and how those Dallas
fans ring.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Yeah, no, oh yeah, it's certainly possible.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Just we have not no, yeah, in the NBA, I agree, yeah,
not to yeah, because you think about the eras like
the Magic Bird, then Jordans then Lebron like.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Also form players though in general, like that's you know,
that's that didn't happen the way it happens today either, right,
that's part of it too, right, where like that's a
different part of the league and when Jordan played as well.
So yeah, I think I think those are probably the
best options. I don't really know who else comes.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Kind of crazy right where you look at some of
the stars that definitely get traction, but the teams they
play for, right, Like it's Anthony Edwards with the timber Wolves,
It's SGA with the Thunder, It's Jah with the Grizzlies,
you know what I mean. Like these are not like
the big brand.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Name teams honest doesn't fit that bill.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Right, Yeah. Yeah, it's kind of a weird thing with
some of the stars in the NBA where they're playing at.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
Jalen Brun said is great, but not not a type
of player where he's a superstar of the league. Look,
Lebron's forty, He's got seven more years. It feels like
maybe they don't have to worry about it.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Is pretty wild.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Play Forever Browny nine points the other night, see the
Future of the NBA.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Guy, you know your guys love Ronnie going by the way,
what are the prop bets for Bronnie James? Like on
a nightly basis, what would be like the point total
prop bet?

Speaker 3 (25:28):
Half a point?

Speaker 2 (25:29):
That's it? Half a point.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Okay, I think I think I haven't looked. He's under
most nights, but could.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
You imagine taking me over and he gets in for
whatever the final six minutes and you're like, dude, just
freaking score a bat, just one get fouled, make one
pre throw. It's all I care about. Yeah, it's it's
your own fault if you get down on that action.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
You know it certainly is. I led it with your
last night in these in the Four Nations hockey hockey?

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Did you know it's funny? So I'm at home in
Indiana right now.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Unfortunately one of my uncles passed away.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Sorry.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Yeah, so the all the stuff is on Monday night
and Tuesday morning.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
OK.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
But that's why I'm I'm staying a little bit longer, uh,
in Indiana. But I went to one of my friend's
houses last night, a good friend Jay, and we're watching
He's Got We call it J Dubbs instead of B Dubs.
This guy literally has six TV screens in his basement,
you know it. So he had hockey on one of

(26:34):
them and he goes, it's one to one, and he goes,
I might I might bet on the US right now,
They're way better, much better. Yeah, yeah, he's like and
as soon as he said that, we both were like, yeah,
maybe that could be a good It's like goal goal goal.
They scored like six unanswered goals last night.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Were minus three eighty to win last.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Night even down one.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
No, no, just no. But I bet him. I bet over.
I took a team total alternate over over four and
a half goals, like, oh nice there you yeah, it's
Canada US are to win this.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
It was only plus one forty for them to get
to at least five goals. Good lord, wow.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Three and a half as was minus one fifty. Wow.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Okay, so minus money for to score four goals.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Wow. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Yeah, it tells you a lot, right there.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Yeah. So I ended up to yeah, I doing that.
So but but I'm sorry your uncle. I'm glad you're home.
Brian's had known that For those who are not aware, Yeah,
I don't know how you do it, buddy. Yeah, it's
how you live that life.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
It's not great driving through Colorado or Iowa. Not the
greatest of Rhodes there, Jeff. Like Colorado, there are all
these signs where it's like must have chains on tires
if you're in must have on tires territory. It's rough weather.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
So I was. I had in college a Toyota avalon. Okay,
it was purple. I got a deal on it when
I was like sixteen's it was it was like a
weird color. So I'm from Los Angeles. Just I make
that point. I'm driving from the California Coast, northern coast

(28:26):
from Humboldt County, Eureka County, from Humboldt Humboldt State, through
the mountains of southern Oregon to get back to Eugene.
And it's like February right now, okay. And I crossed
over into Oregon and it is there are people that
are stopped at the bottom of the mountain. Okay, yeah,

(28:47):
and it's raining at the bottom of the mountain. And
I was like, man, this is probably not great, but
let's go try it. And so I drove through the
mountain through one of the passes by myself in the snow.
It was slowly to the mountain, the only one up there,
no chains. I think I had a blanket in my
car in case things went poorly. Unprepared for life at

(29:10):
the top of a mountain in an avalon from Los
Angeles in snow by myself. Man, I meane it down
that mountain and then I went. Then we went through
Grant's Pass, which is in southern Oregon on the five
Sook on a major highway, and then it closed like
thirty minutes after that the past did.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
I barely made, barely.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Made, barely the snow driving to me, I'm out. I'm out, Brian,
don't don't just fully out on that.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Man. I've had I've had vehicles. I remember going through
Denver a long time ago, and uh, my vehicle was
going like maybe thirty maybe. By the time I got
to the top of this, people are just flipping me off.
I'm like, it's not my choice, not my choice. I'm
going this slowly. I can't help it. Same thing in
the Grapevine. If you go from LA to like the

(29:58):
Fresno area.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Ever done it with snow, You're done grape Vine snow.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
No, not with snow, just like regular normal day, like
it's eighty out. Oh, still can hardly get to the
freaking grape fight.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Grape is so frustrating. It's never just like that's that
drive is uh, I don't know. I just put this.
If you're listening in Bakersfield. I don't know how you
live there, but that's no story for you know what.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
By the way, while we're trading stories, I always think
of my mom. I have to tell you this. She
was in LA for work and she came to she
drove up to see me in Fresno, Okay, And there, Jeff,
there is the biggest sign, certainly in America, maybe on
planet Earth. I'm not sure, but it's like Baker's Field

(30:47):
this way and then it's like Fresno that way or
whatever the signs say. And my mom, I don't she
was looking at directions or she missed the sign, and
so at that time it was a little bit before
GPS on your phone, and she ended up in a
bad spot. My boss is yelling at me, like, how

(31:07):
did you give her these directions? I'm like, Jeff, the
sign couldn't be bigger, like this way to fres though,
And so every time I drove the Grapevine or around there,
I have seen that sign, and just I think of
my mom, who I love to death. And you know,
we all make mistakes, but I would always think of
her what I saw that the it's a gigantic sign.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
I haven't made that driving a while. I don't remember exactly.
We used to go up to Santa Rosa where my
grandparents lived. Yeah, fine, but yeah, the great Yeah, jeez,
that's the memories of that.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
I think it's where it's like the split between the
five and ninety nine, and you gotta choose between those
two roads. I think that's what it is. But it
goes across the entire interstate. That's how this freaking site is. Man, monstrous.
She just missed it. You know, It's okay, no problem whatsoever. Yeah,

(32:04):
but man, Yeah, this last one in Colorado, Jeff, surreal fast.
It is going up to the Snowy Hill and traction
was not great. I was renting a Chrysler I think
it was a PACIFICA. It's loaded down. I've got a
lot of stuff in there, right.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
Like this time or the other time.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
This time just a couple of days ago. And I'm
going up this pretty decent hill and this traction is
not good. And I'm starting like I'm I'm hitting the
gas pedal, you know, and you can hear the engines like,
and I'm just not getting traction. And I'm like, if
I don't make it to the top of this Hill.

(32:44):
I'm screwed, Like, I don't know if I'm even gonna
like if we start going backwards, that's that's all sorts
of bad. I don't know if I can sort of
even park sideways on this. But luckily I made it.
It was fine, But for a little bit, I'm like,
we gotta make it, man, this is the only option
here that's good.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
The straight panic of that, I can only imagine. Well,
glad you made it home, obviously, Glad are you home
for a while?

Speaker 4 (33:12):
Now?

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Are you gonna go back to Vegas?

Speaker 2 (33:14):
I don't know. That's the thing. So I'm here until
next Thursday, and then I'll fly back to Vegas and
we're there for maybe like another week, and then we
drive all the way back home because my nephew is
getting married, and then from there, I don't know. He
gets married on March first, and then I don't know,
pick somewhere on the map and we might go there.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
I don't know, Jeff, I know how much eating meals
with Bill Krackenberger makes you.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
That's so great, man, I love it. There. Man cracks
the best Bill Krackenberger. For the people that don't know,
we do this Sunday show together professional sports handicapper. But
that dude, I swear there should be a reality show
centered around Bill Krackenberger's life.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
That one show for like four episodes.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
I don't know why it didn't continue. Whoever was like, yeah, no,
let's go in a different direction. Terrible decision. That guy
leads an interesting life. Okay, he's betting big amounts of
money on sports, you know, and winning quite a bit,
and just the way he is. I don't know that
we can even like we can describe him and accurately

(34:27):
do so where someone's like, oh yeah, I feel like
I don't know that we can do that.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Jeff, I don't think you can with Bill.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
He's just he's a unique guy. Man, He just is
I bearded for him. Did I tell you this story? Jeff?
Oh yeah, yeah, So I didn't know this. I have
to go to the casino to get the money because
I think it was on my player's card do something
like that. Yeah, so we got to go there to
get his cash before you know, I leave town not

(34:57):
knowing if I'm going to be back in that town.
So we have to do that here pretty soon.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
How much money did he make for him?

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Well, it was two wagers. It was like one was
two thousand bucks, the other one was twenty four hundred dollars.
So it was he laid forty four to win, you know,
I don't know, maybe like eighteen nineteen something like that,
and you won both of ways. Yeah, I think he.
I think he won both of them.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Because when I was the Beard, we lost both the wagers.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Yeah, so he laid forty four to probably win in
the neighborhood of four. So you're over eight figures easy,
You're over eight thousand dollars combined. And that's just like
yeah here, you know, he flipped me a five thousand
dollars chip like I'm gonna need you to do something
here real quick.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
I'm like, okay, shit, how to stress of that? Would me? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Do it?

Speaker 4 (35:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Good stuff? All right, we got a lot to get
to coming up next on Two Pros and a Cup
of Joe Live from the tire rack dot Com Studios. Jeff,
this is the Day of Love, Okay it is, and
we have a sports themed Valentine's Day topic that I
believe is not super lame. Okay, you know how sometimes

(36:15):
it's Thanksgiving, let's do a sports theme out of it.
And it's like, oh my gosh, I think this one
will make you think a little bit. Okay, so we're
gonna get to this coming up next. He's Jeff Schwartz.
I'm Brian No. Keep it locked right here on Fox
