Is it the winds? Petros? They worried about the sant

Speaker 3 (01:42):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
The wind is intense here, but no, no, I just
had some trouble breaking getting by com rees to work.
But here I am.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
You also were had a chance to see Ashton gent
of close and personal yet again this season still your
favorite to.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
Win the Heisman? Are you still going to that direction?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Or I think I mean he's my favorite because I've
seen him up close a bunch and I think that
kind of happens to all of us in the world
of college football. But I don't think he's gonna win it.
I think it's a huge victory for Boise State, obviously

(02:24):
not a power for It would be big for them
to get him to New York, right, like to be
able to celebrate him. I think kind of the way
Kellen Moore, who was like fourth or something for the
Heisman back in the day, in the Chris Peterson days.
So yeah, I think it would be a great thing
just for him to get to New York. But that

(02:45):
being said, like people are flying up to the line
of scrimmage on first and second down, He's really having
to earn every yard and he had to grind down.
I think like thirty carries and about one hundred and
fifty yards against San Diego State. Pretty key on him.
But and he's hurt. He's got he's got a left
arm issue with a big old brace on his arm,

(03:07):
and every time he got tackled it seemed they'd have
to bring him over to the sideline and adjust the brace.
But he played like a warrior, and in his last
drive he started to bust you know, eight or nine
ten yard runs and still put up comparable numbers but
I think for Ashton Genty, you got to you gotta
have your seventy eighty yard runs to keep everybody excited

(03:30):
and interested. But it is very, very telling that he
went for one hundred and ninety something against the number
one team of the country, Organ and had a lot
of success there. So I still like him. I'd love
for him to get to New York to be at
the ceremony, But beyond that, I don't really know. I
don't really know how much hope boys he should have.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Hey, Petrist, But based on what you've seen, and obviously
I know Dylan Gabriel is a part of the conversation.
Travis Hunter is a part of the part of the
conversation to you, is he the best player in college football?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Like?

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Would he be the most deserving of it? But it's
more a factor of he plays in Boise, it's a
group of five team and kind of schedule outside of
the Organ game you mentioned.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Is that more of what it has to do with Well,
I think so, And I think that there's a certain
amount of bias and weirdness and kind of it's if
you're looking for fairness or some kind of real clarity
when it comes to who wins the Heisman Trophy and
how it's marketed and the regional voting and all that.

(04:33):
I don't think you're going to find something that makes
a whole bunch of sense. But that's our sport. That's
what we like about college football to begin with. So
that's all something that we embrace. But I don't know,
I think he's the best running back in football right now.
I really like when we have running back Heisman candidates

(04:57):
because a great running back in college footb ball is
really something special. I mean, I guess I grew up
with guys like Barry Sanders and beyond that where you're
scared to get a hot dog or you're scared to
leave your seat because the guy might do something on
first or second down. And Ashton Gent is certainly one
of those players, and it's fun to have one in

(05:18):
college football. But you know, as far as who's the
best player, I don't think the Heisman goes to the
best player almost ever. Maybe every every once in a while.
But yeah, I like Gent a lot. I do.

Speaker 7 (05:31):
Yeah, I would have got it in ninety nine if
that would cast anyway. Let me ask you, I know
I was the highest ready dude in the draft. But
I mean that's just a self self moment right there.
But anyway, Petros of the way, I'll pay you to
The Oregon Ducks are the hottest team in all of

(05:55):
college football right now. Is there any like, have you
taken any need time to think about, you know, the
fact that, Okay, they're heading towards possibly winning, which I
mean maybe Ohio State stands back up to them if
they see them in the championship round of the Big Ten,
but there looks like they're heading for a Big Ten

(06:16):
crown and are going into the playoffs with a very
very golden opportunity to possibly win the playoffs as well.
Does like, have you taken any inventory on they're not
being a Pac twelve or Pac ten or the Pack
as we've known it, but yet one of the teams
that is one of the hottest teams in America and

(06:38):
could possibly make a run for it is from the
conference that is now not the same conference that it
once was.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah, I mean it's a little bit like last year, LeVar,
Right like we're watching the end of the Pack twelve
and we're watching car Moard and Bownecks and Caleb Williams
and you know, and Dorian Thompson Robinson the year before
that running around it. I mean, we were watching a

(07:07):
real air show and some really great talent, and then
you realize, well, this conference is going away, and the
conference is going away because USC and UCLA and Oregon
and Washington needed the jump Ship to make enough money
to continue to compete with Power Force. And we all

(07:27):
know why, and we can argue about it, and all
the funny tweets about oh my god, USC ruined the
entire West Coast so they could lose five Big ten
games by November is all pretty valid. But I mean,
the one thing that stands.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Out to me about Oregon is that Oregon is the
one doing what USC does when they are dominant, which
is their recruiting and developing really good up front players, and.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
The USC's not doing that. In fact, the guys that
should be going to USC and being developed upfront are
not going to USC because Lincoln Riley's an air raid coach.
They're going to Oregon. And Organ was always tough and
kind of disciplined in the Rich Brooks kind of Mike
Blotty model that I grew up playing against. But now

(08:27):
I mean, maybe it really got sharpened under Christobal, but
now they're really really dominant up front and they know
how to be that way to where they can get
on the field. They're not get pushed around by these
other big ten game teams. So I'm very impressed. I Mean,
usually I expect Dan Lanning to screw it up at
the end of the game, like you did last year

(08:48):
against Washington, but it was Ohio statement screwed it up
at the end of the game. And now Oregon's sitting
pretty because of the circumstance of college football. But they
put themselves in that position because of the work they've
done up front, and that's what USC hasn't done.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Patris Papadegas joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, get
him on Twitter or x at the Old p So
let me ask you about USC. So, what the hell
was them beating LSU to start the year? Was that
just a giant ees? Was that just they caught LSU?
You know, maybe a sleep of the wheel in week one?

Speaker 5 (09:22):
And this is the real.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
USC because I think everybody's expectation was, man, they might
be better without Caleb Williams, and now they're making a
switch a quarterback.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
So what are we doing here?

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Well, USC's win against LSU, who seems like a top
to bottom pretty tough team. And if you play LSU
the way USC did and beat LSU the way the
USC did, then there should be hope for the whole season.
Because USC tackled in that game, they were disciplined in

(09:55):
that game, the quarterback was accurate, and that was the
birth of the universe. That was the anomaly, and USC
just kind of regrets to the mean of what they
were as the season goes on. And that is a
team that doesn't really want to run the football, even
though the running back is their best player. They don't

(10:17):
want to run the football. And if you throw the
ball thirty times in the first half, you shouldn't be
shocked at your quarterback throws picks. When you end up
throwing it sixty times, I mean, you put the guy
at risk way too much. I don't blame Millard Moss
for this. And now his mom is tweeting things about
scapegoats and Dwight Eisenhower quotes and it's ugly. And now

(10:41):
Jaden Mayava, who took money to leave U and LV
just to be the backup, is going to start and
he's a little bit more mobile, and I guess they're
trying to jump start the offense, but that's not really
their problem. Their problem is they have no identity. And yeah,
that LSU game that gave everybody hope and they sided people,
was it happened, It was real, but that's not who

(11:04):
us he was, which is a bit of a shock
because usually you don't play like that and then suddenly
sort of becomes something else. But that's what happened.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Petro's Do you think they'll get a little bit of
a bump with Maava starting over. I know he's more
of a dual threat quarterback compared to Miller Moss, but
here's the way I look at it. I feel like
Miller Moss is falling on the sword for a Southern
cal team. That yes, he's probably not playing from the
pocket as well as Lincoln would have hoped. But I

(11:36):
also think what's gotten a little bit of exposed since
Lincoln's gotten to the what was the Pac twelve now
the Big ten, is he's facing better defenses like the
Big twelve has stunk defensively, and during his time at
Oklahoma they had a big time advantage in talent obviously
at quarterback as well, and a pretty darn good defense
and a track record from Bob Stoops that allowed him

(11:57):
to inherit somewhat of an easy path to the Big
Championship game. Where now you look at the Pac twelve,
the parody in that schedule last year, you look at
the Big Ten and their schedule this year, it's like, yeah, dude,
you've got to become a better play call You're coaching
against more talented defenses and better schematic defenses.

Speaker 6 (12:14):
At least that's just my opinion.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Do you kind of feel like Mila Moss is taking
the fall for Lincoln Riley maybe not having as great
of a time so far at Southern Colia play caller?

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Well, yeah, I think a lot of that is very true.
I think a lot of what you just said is
very true. But how could you disparent the Big twelve
defenses over the years, Brady with the big nickel of
the Iowa state team, coach Haycock special three safety. Look,
I'm kidding, but yeah, I mean they have.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Three players drafted on defense one year in the NFL
Draft for the Pig twelve.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
What about TCU and then bludgeoning defense they brought into
the National Championship Game a couple of years ago.

Speaker 8 (12:54):
Anyway, the point is, yeah, I mean, and what is
the basis of the Big Twelve?

Speaker 2 (13:02):
All these years? Where did all those brilliant guys that
coached with Mike Leach end up? They ended up at
various Big twelve schools. I mean, even Dane Holverson was
an air raid guy and he changed a little bit
of West Virginia. But that was the basis of that conference.
Guys who had been mentored by the same guy that
Lincoln Riley had been mentored by Mike Leach. So that

(13:26):
makes sense. But I mean, USC should not have such
a huge problem being more balanced. And the reason they
don't have any balance is because their head coach is
too stubborn to create it. It doesn't matter. And you know,
at the same time, everybody's saying, well, why is USC

(13:48):
losing so much? USC was like a five hundred team
last year in the TAC twelve with Caleb Williams, who's
supposed to be a generational talent at quarterback. I mean,
Lincoln Riley was fifty five and ten at Oklahoma with
somebody else's structure, somebody else's athletic director, somebody else's university president,

(14:08):
somebody else's program foundation at USC. In the last sixteen games,
he's like six and ten. This is a it's a
culture cultivated of losing. It's not it's not anything more
complicated than that. And us he's in a deep dark

(14:30):
hole because they're not going to be able to shame
him out of the job. He's got a ten year
deal with a seventy million dollar buyout. Nobody wants to
pay that. The guy that bailed him out of the
Clay healthon Era, which was better than this. It's very
hard for USC people to face the guy that bailed
him out of that. Rick Caruso paid ninety million dollars

(14:52):
because he thought he was going to become the mayor.
They let him speak at the press conference. Then he
lost to mayor. Buzz Cut a lady with with the
g I Jane haircut. So, uh, I don't know if
anybody's coming to save you. I see, maybe Lincoln goes
and becomes a play caller somewhere else or from Texas

(15:13):
school hires him. But it looks like he likes his
mansion in Palas Verdes. He doesn't deal with anybody in
his ass kicked by the LA media and there's no
end in sight.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
Is he near you in Palas Verdes or what?

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Like? How always given that it's the same town, Yes,
but not he lives in a much different neighborhood than me.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
But I like that, So you guys don't.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
My neighborhood is My neighborhood is nice. I'm not saying
it's not. Lincoln Riley's neighborhood has you know, thirty million
dollar houses in it.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
So you guys don't run into each other like a
whole Foods or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Like no, I used to run into the Heltons all
the time at the market and stuff like that. And
that's how far up are you? That's not fun to like,
you know, it's not fun to call for somebody's firing
and then run into it. About the round storm, you.

Speaker 7 (16:03):
Know, how far up the mountain are you? Pee?

Speaker 2 (16:07):
I don't know how to answer that.

Speaker 7 (16:10):
Like, okay, from like from where where Rock and Bruise is?
How far up are you?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Like, yeah, I'm about a five minute drive from there.

Speaker 7 (16:20):
Oh wow, we're going to.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Yeah. The reason I like where that's too small of
a Rock and Bruise for us to do the show
from those Okay, all right, but uh but I wish
it was big enough. I love that place. But we
uh we I live close to Torrance and Redondo, which
you have civilization as opposed to living where Lincoln does,
where you're hiding from the pitchforks and the torches of

(16:46):
the townspeople that want to.

Speaker 7 (16:48):
Fire all the way up the mountain.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Well he lives actually over at Lenana Bay, which is
you know, by the water.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Okay, Petro, So before I let you go, I just
wanted to hear did you have a chance to sell
break the Dodgers World Series title? What was the celebration,
like you have a couple of throw burners?

Speaker 7 (17:06):
Did you guys?

Speaker 2 (17:06):
What did do?

Speaker 5 (17:08):
How'd you get together on that?

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Uh? You know, I listened, I guess I just I'll
give you an honest answer. I listened a lot to
the postgame stuff with David Veass on our station, because nobody, honestly,
I've never seen anybody crack the shell of a team
and get more real answers and more emotion from people

(17:30):
that we never even used to be able to talk to,
or I mean to see Clayton Kershaw crying in the
arms of David Vassy and different things like that that
sort of happened on the radio that were fascinating to
me covering the team over the years and seeing how
disarming it was for them to win a championship, you know,

(17:52):
without the COVID year and out, without the naysayers and
all of that stuff. But it's pretty darn and impactful
if you can er all the criticism that the Dodgers
have had and the way they've handled the postseason and
people said, well, they'll never win a regular season title
because they don't know how to handle the pitching staff,
and low and behold here they come to the World
Series and the playoffs and the pitching staff is decimated,

(18:16):
and yet they find a way anyway. And that was
pretty inspiring. And the fact that of Tony Torres Labram
that is getting surgery and he was out there taking
hacks with a torn labram not just club let shoulder.
I mean, all of those Yeah, all of those stories
are pretty wild.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
Now, are you guys getting a ring? Is getting a
ring or is this.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Well, we're well, Vassy gets a ring. We really last
time they won in twenty twenty, they didn't give Tim
Kates a ring, even though he does their pre and
postgame show and that was a travesty. So we're lobbying hard.
It's like a Donna Martin graduates type of nine funo situation.
Kates and our engineer Colin ye want them to in

(19:00):
a ring. If they offered me a ring, which they don't,
I wouldn't take it because I think that's a little weird.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
Is Don Martin getting ring?

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Oh? Are you kitting? He's getting like a choker like
Matt Woang?

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Now how would that sound upon receiving it.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
From Well, I'm a special choker. Tame all right, don't
make me do any imitations.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
There is the old p on X Petros Papadakis joining
us here on Fox Sports Radio. He is the co
host of the Petros and Money Show, which you can
here on the Blowtorch A five seventy LA sports Fox
College football analyst Pee, Which game you got this week?

Speaker 5 (19:41):
What are we doing this weekend?

Speaker 2 (19:42):
I have San Diego State. I was supposed to have too,
but they took one away from me. But I have
a San Diego State, New Mexico A real barn burner
on Friday night.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Hell yeah, make it happen. All right, p We'll be watching,
we'll be listening. Thanks again as always.

Speaker 7 (19:59):
Thanks pe Alright there he.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
Is, Petrus Pompady.

Speaker 6 (20:04):
Don Martin getting a choke.

Speaker 7 (20:06):
That's funny.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
It is Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. So coming up next here from
the Tirak dot Com studios, we're going to get the
very latest fallout from the NFL trade deadline. Also, apparently
somebody's not in trouble, not that they should have been
to begin with.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
We'll get into that for you right here on FSR.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here on Fox
Sports Radio. Coming up in about fifteen minutes from now,
we are going to have another edition of Lee's Leftovers
to close up shop here. On this Wednesday morning, we
were talking about the NFL trade deadline. We discussed the
big move for the Washington Commanders. They land Marshaun Lattimore.
Also the Stellers, Uh, you know, kicking the tires on

(21:04):
a wide receiver for a little while.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
They add Mike Williams.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
Preston Smith's also going to be in Pittsburgh, so uh so, bar,
I mean, you're gonna be up close and personal to
two teams that did some things at the trade.

Speaker 7 (21:16):
Yeah, they did. They did some things at the trade deadline.
And you know, you know what I thought was I
found to be interesting is that Dallas wasn't more active,
that the Rams weren't very active at all. I thought
that I found that to be a tab bit interesting
because I think that the Rams are in a position

(21:36):
where they could, you know, make a run of it,
and you know, all they did was gain a seventh
round pick and lose a cornerback. But yeah, the Steelers
were active. I mean they added an edge. I mean
which as if they could have any need any more
help at the edge, I think they had the premiere
two in the game. And what and hat Smith? Uh?

(21:58):
And then adding Mike Williams. We've been hearing about them
wanting to add another receiver for quite some time now,
so now they're able to do that. What Mike Williams
is able to do will have to wait and see
but I thought that was pretty interesting, and I already
mentioned earlier in the show with Washington the adding of
Marshawn Lattimore. That was really I know they wanted to

(22:24):
maybe bolster their receiving corps with one more guy maybe,
but this was easily the best decision in terms of
what can impact your team dramatically moving forward. They have
a guy, They have a defensive front where their ends
can get their edges can get to the quarterbacks. Now

(22:44):
haven't really seen that they've been able to hold up
at times in the interior, but they're outside, they have
not been very well served trying to get to the
quarterback they have this year. This season, they just needed
one more guy that could cover. You can never have enough,
but they just needed one more guy. This is more
of a signature type of corner that you're bringing in

(23:05):
with uh with Lattimore. So to me, to have that
type of coverage now added to to your defense, I
really look at this Commander's team and I say, not
only are they a team that can win the East
now and should be in my estimation favored to win
the East because they can match up with with Philly

(23:26):
very well. And we'll find out what that looks like
pretty soon here. But I think they also can be
a contender. They they can they can challenge for it
in the NFC. We talked about is wide open. The
NFC's wide open, and the one team that we could
look at and could say within the NFC that is
I don't want to say far and away the best,

(23:47):
the best team in the NFC, but you look at this,
this Detroit Lions team and you say, this is a
pretty dog on good team. And them adding Zadarius and
at the end edge to replace that production from from
Aiden Hutchinson, I think was a tremendous move on their behalf.

(24:08):
I think they won. I think they won the trade
deadline situation outside of maybe Buffalo getting Amari Cooper or
looking at the fact that you know, if DeAndre Hopkins
continues to play the way that he's playing, that that
could be one of the pick of of you know,
in terms of tops at that. You know that trade

(24:29):
deadline as well.

Speaker 6 (24:30):
Remember Dallas did make a move. They didn't get Jonathan Mingo, so.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
They did get Mingo. I don't get it. I just
I don't know how big of it that that's not superssive.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
It's been interesting, like he was kind of bill to
be similar to aj Brown coming out of Little Miss
and it's it's kind of been anything, but that hasn't
really caught on to develop. And and look, the Cowboys
give up a fourth rounder for him, which could be
somewhat significant to Carolina, so good for them for the future.
But they get Mingo in a seventh round pick next year,
so at least they get to kick.

Speaker 6 (24:59):
The to on that maybe he can have an impact
to some degree.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
I thought what was stood out the most was the
Kansas City Chiefs, a team that's undefeated.

Speaker 6 (25:10):
We know about the move for Hopkins.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
We saw that impact right a conditional fifth rounder, which
now is you're like, yeah, you'll do that any day
of the week, especially if it helps them either maintain
an undefeated record or win another Super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (25:21):
But also Josh uche ooj is a really good edge rusher.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
They get him for a six round pick from New England,
kind of surprised and they sold him.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
But now he could be a part of that rotation.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Guys like you know, Carl Loftus, like you had touched
on earlier this week, LeVar, so I love what the
Kansas City Chiefs. Did I think for a team that's undefeated,
you feel like, well, what do they needed to improve?
They were able to improve that. But the one that
makes the most sense and kind of shows you a
little bit about how the Pittsburgh Steelers feel about what
they've gotten Russell Wilson is Mike Williams, and it's in
large part due to the type of deep ball and

(25:53):
the way the offense has looked.

Speaker 6 (25:55):
Since he's taken over. Remember we were talking about the moon.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Balls, the deep shots, the fifty to fifty balls them,
you know Russ likes to throw up. Well, now you've
got pickings on one side. You have Mike Williams as well,
who's that big, tall target that is the epitome as
a quarterback of what you're looking for. Then a guy
can go up and make that fifty to fifty ball,
make that play. So it's just got a lot tougher
to defend against the Pittsburgh Steelers offense with somewhat their

(26:21):
ability to run, but also the passing game with friarm
Youth and Austin the third and Pickens and now Mike Williams.
We'll see how fast thing and get him up up
to speed. I mean, this is two teams in one season, right,
one off season with the Jets to kind of get
them there, and then now obviously he's thrust it into
the Pittsburgh Steelers, and I don't know how much turnover

(26:43):
there will be from you know, the offense that you've
got a West Coast system with Nathaniel Hacket and what
Aaron Rodgers was trying to do in New York.

Speaker 6 (26:50):
Now you're going to Arthur Smith's system.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
And you know, Mike Williams comes from, you know, playing
a long time with the Chargers, and yes, a number
of different systems out there, but that is a lot
for a player to endure mentally, and as a wide receiver,
they're responsible for route adjustments. They're responsible at times for
knowing their splits, knowing what type of release do they
got inside the defender, outside the defender, all sorts of things.

(27:13):
And he's played a lot of football, so I think
they can, you know, simplify it for him. And sometimes
just coming into a team, you know, at the the
middle point of the season, you don't have to learn
the entire playbook. You just have to learn the plays
for that week and what your job is for that week.
But what becomes difficult then is if you make adjustments
in the game and maybe you're saying, hey, remember we

(27:34):
did two weeks ago, this is what we're gonna do
on this next series. Well he wasn't there, right, he was,
he was doing some of the jets two weeks ago.
So that's what makes it difficult for a player who
adds on offensively to a new roster is when you
try to draw things up in the dirt or make
those adjustments throughout the course of the game. Those guys
have a much harder time doing it, and so you're
kind of telling them like, hey, outside the edge, you

(27:56):
know split or you know outside edge split you know,
you know plus two plus four that what from? You know,
depending on where that ball is on which hash and
kind of the numbers. But you're trying to tell them everything,
and so that might be something that is a little
extra on Russell Wilson, where Arthur Smith is, you know,
telling what his head say, Hey, make sure you tell
Mike what he's got. So those sorts of things, we'll

(28:16):
see how fast Mike Williams can impact it. But that's
the sort of learning curve that Mike Williams is going
to have joining the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 6 (28:22):
But I love what they did.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
I think for a team biding for the NFC no
or excuse me, AFC North Uh. Both both players I
think will help at times with this team.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
It is kind of nice to see the NFL trade
deadline get a little bit more action, because it seemed
like it was always kind of whatever, nothing really big
is going to happen.

Speaker 7 (28:40):
Was it surprised the just didn't do something more, whether
it was with Reddick or trying to bring in another edge,
I'm surprised they didn't do more. They could have done something.
I don't know their cause.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I don't know that they can mortgage more though, Like
if you think about where they're at, because they have
Rogers under contract next year, I think they're looking at
this as like, all right, we have the rest of
this year, whatever happens, and the next year and that's it.
And by the way, who knows what next year looks
like depending on Rodgers' decision.

Speaker 6 (29:09):
So I think I'm kind of with you.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
I was curious to see what they do, but I
can understand why there wouldn't be as much done because
they're sitting here thinking themselves, how like, how much do
we want to penalize ourselves and put ourselves in a
position where or whether it's a cat perspective or with
our draft picks and what this team looks like in
twenty twenty five, twenty twenty six, you know, how much
do we want to hamstring ourselves to this decision? You know,

(29:33):
with the Rogers and take it for example, the Saints.
The Saints were obviously another team that you know, in
no capacity, no way, shape or form, was involved. And
the thing is they can't. I mean, they gave away
Marshaan Lottimore, who's a hell of the pick, and they're
trying to recruit and you know, get more more talent
through the draft because they have to, you know, getting

(29:53):
back a third, fourth, and sixth in exchange for Marshawn Lottimore,
even though you give a fifth, you know that's going
to help their roster. But all the decisions they made
at the end of the Drew Breese career and all
these are the contracts they've done, you know, since that point,
they've kicked the can down the road. What's it's time
to pay up? And unfortunately the roster is gonna take
a hit. It's gonna have a lot of turnover. I
think it's gonna be a tough couple of years for

(30:14):
the Saints to get back right before they, you know,
become a contender again.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
So cream Uh, I don't know who is I don't
know who sings it though? Why am I blanket on it?

Speaker 4 (30:56):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (30:57):
White snake rat?

Speaker 7 (31:00):
Dang ever? I found the stronghold of the Rodents. By
the way, you will never ever believe what I did.
They are in trouble.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
Oh what you do?

Speaker 7 (31:18):
They're in trouble? You a tom cat trap? No I
don't miss it that I didn't even put traps down.
I just I put peanut butter on the poison disc
and I just deployed them.

Speaker 5 (31:33):
Yeah, like the whole.

Speaker 7 (31:35):
Floor is deployed with peanut butter and and poison. So
I'm assuming when I go check today, I'm gonna get Nicodemus.
I'm gonna get them. Nicodemus is going down. You gotta
get rid of them quick. Well, if Nicodemus has kids
with him and he brought brought them with them, you ever,

(31:56):
y'all know that that's that movie from Night It is
like nineteen eighty six. It's like a story about mice
or rats and mice, and Nicodemus was like the Almighty
Wizard of the Mice.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
I remember the name. I don't remember the movie specifically.

Speaker 7 (32:12):
I don't know why his name stuck with me because
it kind of creaked me out. If you look up
Nicodemus the mouse or the rat from the movie.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
I was thinking Ben, but not Ben.

Speaker 7 (32:21):
Now you see it, did you type it in? It'll
pop up Nicodemus. Anyways, I'm going to get them. That's
what I labeled him because I saw him one time
and I was wondering why Styx was looking at me
like all funny, like dude, like we've since brought his
kennel inside, by.

Speaker 5 (32:37):
The way, like you're getting clown.

Speaker 7 (32:39):
He's looking at me like, dude, like you got me
up in this kennel, like you do know. I eat
chicken for you know, meals and stuff. I can eat
them for you if you just let me out. But
I'm in here. They're out there, they're looking at me.
I'm looking at them. I can't do anything. Well, I
finally saw Nicodemus. And Nicodemus is not little at all.
That is not a filled mouth that's running around in

(33:01):
my garage. It's a rat. So let's not put that
on Inner City because that that that's not that's a
mountain rat. That that rat is thriving some way somehow.
But I saw, I saw where he went, identified where
he went by the pellets, and now I've addressed it.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
I got a family of them with a power back
one time.

Speaker 7 (33:28):
Well, they said, that's a that's like a way of
getting them. You put like the the whatever it is,
the mustard or the peanut butter on the deal and
they go to get it and they get sucked in.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
They get sucked up.

Speaker 7 (33:40):
Yeah, like the little well, I mean, Peter needs to
keep them from going into people's homes. If you want
to have a problem. I'm planning on having to sweep
a whole bunch of them up this morning. I'm like, really,
I hate to say it, but I'm like, I'm really
excited to get get in there and see if my

(34:01):
trap worked. Yeah, see if my plan worked out. Good move.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
There you go, by the way, Shortly after the show here,
the podcast will be going up, So if you've missed
any of it, you can't check out the pod search
two pros. Wherever you get your podcast, you'll see today's
show posted right after.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
We get off the air.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
We're gonna be back on the air tomorrow, six am
Eastern time, three o'clock Pacific, same time, same place.

Speaker 5 (34:20):
Right now, though it's time for this.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
These might smell.

Speaker 7 (34:24):
A little funk.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
What sounds incredible, but they're still good. Time to find
out what's left. It's Lee's laps.

Speaker 5 (34:33):
All right to laugh? What do we got?

Speaker 7 (34:34):
Guys?

Speaker 4 (34:34):
We are gifted with another double header of maction tonight
Northern in Illinois at Western Michigan and Ohio at Kent State.

Speaker 6 (34:41):
Yeah, let's go, Northern Illinois.

Speaker 7 (34:45):
Gotta win.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
Come on, boys, let's go, let's go.

Speaker 7 (34:49):
Yeah. I need it, I need it. I want to
see that. I want to see that gang. I need it.

Speaker 6 (34:55):
Yeah, needed to keep winning Cowboys, Loo.

Speaker 7 (35:00):
Stand on.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
I will say this, Ohio University a big favorite versus
Kent State. That's when the spreads big nine nineteen and
a half points. I would lay the points. I feel
pretty comfortable and confident in Ohio University taking care of
business tonight. But uh, in all seriousness, we Notre Dame
does need Northern Illinois to keep winning. Western Michigan is

(35:26):
a pretty decent, you know, MAC team, and this will
go a long way.

Speaker 7 (35:30):
I think in.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
The perception of Northern Illinois they can beat Western Michigan
Kent State to own eight.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
And by the way, Western Michigan's losses are at Wisconsin
ot Ohio State and then obviously a tight one to
Marshall on the road. So again, a good MAC football team.
They have a they're contending in the conference for sure.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
What else we got Lee, That's about it for today.

Speaker 7 (35:53):
Secret The Secret and I am h wiki is the
name of the movie The Sea Great U n i
m h Wicki nim wiki. That's the one Nicodemus and
the Wizard. That's the wizard. He's gonna be dead today
