(01:20):
this early on in the program for those of you
that are getting ready for Game four of the NBA Finals,
in which the Denver Nuggets find themselves still a three
and a half point favorite on the road in Miami,
and everyone's like, man, oh man, we're going to be
inundated with a preview of Game four, this series that

(01:42):
seems like it's over. Well, this is the place for you,
because it is a football Friday. Yeah, football Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah, Friday night.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Come yam, Friday, do what you bet your ass? A
football Friday here on Fox Sports? Quick does that round
of applause? Not that, damn.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
I just feel like it just comes to the end
so quickly. Yeah, what happened there?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Man? I have no idea, Hey, what that happens? I
didn't know. It just abruptly ended like that story in
my life. Tell you that. But quite being, it is
a a football Friday, and we must address the big

(02:38):
story in the NFL that came out yesterday, which was
Dalvin Cook. Eventually, at some point, probably today, is going
to be released by the Minnesota Vikings. We touched on
why the move's being made. It's a financial situation. He
still seems like he's got some production left in him.
He's put up some decent numbers, some good numbers over

(03:00):
the past couple of years. But the Minnesota Vikings have
identified that we want to go in a different direction.
The cost of it, they called it, Tom Pella Sero
talking with Rich Eyes in yesterday, a competitive rebuild. I
guess that's the terminology they're using in Minnesota. But point being,
Dalvin Cook is going to find work elsewhere. And so

(03:22):
one of the teams has been rumored. There's been a
couple of them. The Denver Broncos are one. Another one
has been the Miami Dolphins. Obviously he's from Florida, played
at Florida State. It would make some sense. Dalvin Cook
himself even posted a picture on his social media of
him dancing in a Vikings uniform but inside hard Rock
Stadium where the Dolphins play, and so a lot of

(03:45):
people see the Dolphins as the leader in the clubhouse.
When it comes to adding Dalvin Cook, well, their head
coach Mike McDaniel, who we now call LaVar McDaniel. He
was talking yesterday with the Meatia about the current running
back room in Miami and then he was asked about

(04:07):
potentially adding Dalvin Cook and let's take a little.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
So the running back group, it's developed into a really
cool group. Very pumped to sign Rahiem and Jeff back
in the off season. The Washington boys have been outstanding
as usual, just getting better all the time with Essay
and Miles, and then you know, we have a couple

(04:36):
of rookies that have done a good job being rookies,
which means.

Speaker 6 (04:42):
Learning from mistakes.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
So overall, very happy with the way they practiced, Very
happy with their competitive like camaraderie. They are all trying
to be the best, but they're not doing it in
spite of each other. They recognize that each each one
of them can help each other get better.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
So it's been a cool camp for them.

Speaker 7 (05:07):
Like a veteran running back from Minnesota, Vikings who is
from Miami, is supposedly going to be released today or
has been released. You have said that this team is
always seeking to upgrade.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Does that apply at running back right now?

Speaker 6 (05:25):
March third, nineteen eighty three day I was born.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Right now, we take a closer look at that date
and that in fact was not yesterday. Okay, so people
are rumored to be tall, short, You're not going to
get this guy. I'm here too. Okay, So what I
am excited about is talking about the most important thing,

(05:55):
which is the third day of Veteran Meny Camp. We've
got a lot of guys that are good players, that
have an opportunity to get better.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
Answered question.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Hell, no, no, you didn't. He's fantastic, man.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
You liked that.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
It's so good. You know what it is. It would
be like if Bill Belichick smoked weed. That's what it
sounds like. He just sort of kind of goes off
on things you don't expect him to go off.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
We didn't need to know your birthday because it didn't.
I wasn't born yesterday. Like just say I wasn't born
yesterday and give give explanation. He sounds way more confident though,
Like I can't even do my my impressions of him
anymore because his voice has more confidence in it than

(06:47):
it did last year.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Well, I think he's got more energy. By about week eight,
we'll hear it again. Yeah, that's fatigal, especially if they
come out and uh, you know to he' out injured
again and dealing with whatever he's dealing with, And I
think we'll get more.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Fatigue when he has to explain why jiu jitsu and
kung fu didn't help him to not get thrown to
the flung to the ground the way that he did
last season. He's going to sound the same right now.
He's got a whole lot of confidence in his voice.
Though it's not like the ell. It's like, well, I

(07:29):
was born March twenty fourth, nineteen eighty three. Yeah, that
wasn't yesterday.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
I mean, I think he's awesome. You love him. It's
a breath of fresh air. You don't think so sure.
I mean, listen, there's a lot of just canned answer.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
I'm not a non fan of Mike McDaniel. I'm not
a non fan. You just do an impression of him.
I mean, but not this latest Mike McDaniel. He's new tool.
He's way too cool, although he still sounds like a
high school kid interviewing like he doesn't come across as
an adult. For some reason, he doesn't sound like an adult.

(08:12):
He just sounds like a high school kid trying to
figure out how to answer questions.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Straight hipster, he's straight hipster.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
You know he's he's in South Beach. You knows he's
feeling more confident. Hipsters are taking over the national Football
League man, you know, I mean, I blame the hipsters
what happened with Urban Meyer.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
We try to keep up. Yeah, we talk about what
Nick Sirianni did with Jalen Hurts. I mean, look to
a Tugobailoa outside of the injuries, played pretty damn well
last year. They were playing well until he got hurt.
And so Mike McDaniel has done kind of the same
thing where they just needed somebody that had their back.

(08:55):
And with what Brian Flores did in Miami and that
whole thing that happened, to see where Tua is at
now that there's potential that Miami's a legitimate team and
a legitimate contender like Mike McDaniel's got to get some
of that. I mean, I don't know, if you know,
I don't know what was in the y I guess
some of that what was in the vape that he
that he brought with him to South Beach. So cherry

(09:17):
was it cherry red? Was that a flavor? I'm not
quite sure. But you know the point is, if you're
the Dolphins, there's going to be some optimism there, and
you got a head coach that can take a question
about Dalvin Cook and turn it into whatever his horoscope
was that day.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
Did they still have the rid soda with with the
you knows? It would probably be considered inappropriate now, but
it was just for the sake of saying what it was.
They had a drink called Cherokee Raid Lee.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Can you look that up? Does that still existly? Cherokee
Raid And it was a really cheap soda, but it
was a really good soda. What have we got?

Speaker 8 (10:03):
I remember looking this up in the past. I believe
they changed the name of it. But first of all,
why the hell would you be looking that up in
the past.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
I think we brought it up. I brought it up
on it. I don't remember that. I may have. Is
it the so what they changed it to? I think
it's still Cherokee Red? How about it? Yeah, look at that,
it's still Cherokee It's not popular enough to get canceled yet.
I guess NOA discontinued.

Speaker 8 (10:34):
It made a short comeback several years ago, but it's
no longer.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
By the way, if you have you walked through, like
in some markets, they'll have the vintage sodas around still
where you get like they'll have it in bottles like
old school vintage sodas like you can get like an
orange crush and a bottle, you can get an RC
cola in a bottle, like if you like, just taking
a look at the back, the amount of sugar that

(11:01):
was in those things the most racist so ever, God's
that's what the hit lads. We look at that logo.
I mean, look look at that logo. Why not why
not rename it Commander Ride? Yeah, please do, but just
call it Cherry Bridge if you would. If you go

(11:23):
through like some of those vintage sodas and look at
the amount of sugar in those things, oh, it's it's
like sugar. And we rifled through those as kids like
not a worry in the world, and every dentist everywhere
was like chi ching, what are you doing, like just
getting destroying your mouth.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
To your kids that you'd be wondering, you'd be sitting down,
like you ain't sitting down.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
No, go outside and play. That's where it's that's where
go outside and play came from. Right.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
You know, people don't say go outside and play anymore.
It's kind of crazy. They say, put on your iPad,
then go outside and play. Totally wings revenge or whatever
it is. But when you was drinking all that soda, man,
you had to get them out. You had to get
that up out of you. Like how did we run
around and play after drinking all that soda. Well, you

(12:13):
had to or you'd have been nine hundred pounds. God,
you had to run it off quick. It was quick,
quick energy. Yeah, quick energy. That's nasty, man, It wasn't.
It wasn't sustainable injury like some grits or something, some
some oatmeal.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
It was just quick energy. You know.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
You had to burn it off though. By the way,
can you imagine, like you didn't gain any weight. Get
the crap we used to eat. It was awesome, all
the trans fat that we used to eat. Remember Swiss
cake rolls, the little little Debbie styeah yeahh man, throw
those in the fridge for like a half hour, stomach
burning listening to us talk about junk food.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Because that was all the stuff we could get away with.
And then you hit like your thirties, and all of
a sudden, your body goes a dummy, What are you doing? Yeah,
you're not formore.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
In fact, let me show you this, and your belly
is sitting on your legs right, and then you're you're obese,
and then you have to look at yourself in the
mirror with with all that junk that's caught up to
your belly.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Do you eat pizza when you were a kid? This
is my favorite food? Okay, right, so how many slices
of pizza when you were a kid could you eat?
I feel like at what point, like high school? High school?
I could. I could rifle through two boxes, yeah, if
you had, if you had half a box. Now I can't.
I can probably do two pieces out most. I can't

(13:42):
eat very much. What is that?

Speaker 8 (13:44):
Like?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
The the the bigger our bodies got the smaller our
stomachs because we weren't.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
We weren't see the younger we were, our metabolism was
firing really really fast. It was moving like you could
do it because you were burning it immediately. Like the
older we get we're not burning. We're not burning them
calories like we used to.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Because nowadays, like the crust is really the great divide
because you because look, you could go three slices, but
not if you're eating the crust on the first two.
You eat the crust on the first two. Then you're
out there and my fat ass is sitting down for
a half hour, going hold on a second, like I
need to decide whether or not I'm going to keep
this in or this is going to leave my body

(14:27):
right now, Like it's just it's a bad situation. But
when you're younger, you can do anything, including rifle a
couple of slices and drink a cherry Red afterwards.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Cherry Red the most races, the most racist drink ever, tang.
We used to have them joints at every family reunion.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
By the way, who thought that was a good idea
to name it?

Speaker 4 (14:48):
I mean the picture, I mean, but it was popular.
I don't know about on the West coast, but on
the East coast, that bad boy that that soda was popular,
definitely in the South. The one that we would do,
we called it pop too. You know where I come from,
we called it pop. Like I didn't. I didn't stop
calling soda pop until I got to the league. I

(15:13):
said pop all the way up until and my parents
still say, my family, everybody's he wants some pop.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
You want to get a glass, you want somebody bring that.
Let's bring that back on the West coast. That mean,
did they ever say pop on the West coast? My
dad said it because he grew up in Illinois. But yeah,
he never like would be like soda pop, Yeah, let
me get it. What's pop? Make soda pop? Yeah? Like
that's like it's called it soda.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
I got to the point of where I just start
calling it the flavors, Like you go to a draft through.
I'd be when I first started, like at college and stuff.
I'd be like, yeah, can I can I get get
an orange pop?

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Like, well, I woke up to go give me a
cold pop.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
And I said, lord Us.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
I said, oh Lord Jesus is a far.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Then I ran out.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Rating for my life, for my.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Life, Sam, You're an idiot.

Speaker 6 (16:18):
Ain't nobody.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
I don't do top for no far. This is this
is how I knew that we were struggling financially growing up.
But I went to the fridge and there was no PEPSI.
It was just shasta. And then when I went to
the cupboard to get some cheerios and it was toasted
O's in a bag. That's how you knew. It's like, oh, no, Oneder,

(16:42):
the lights are off. No wonder the lights were off.
But now I get it that makes some sense. Uh.
The most race episode, remember it is Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio, and
that'll that'll cover our discussion about the Dolphins running back room.

(17:03):
So I'm glad we uh we're able to tie that
all together damn detours. So that's what we're on this show.
But listen, Dalvin Cook could be a dolphin very soon
if you believe.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Of this segment what we were trying to get through
that there's strong possibility that Dalvin Cook could so dolphin.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
There we go, all right, So coming up next year
from the Tirack dot Com studios, there is a money
making opportunity in the NFL. We'll tell you what that is.
That's next.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six a m. Eastern three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with you here by the way.
Comeing up later on this hour, Cherry. It's another edition
of You In and You Out as we close up shop,
stick the landing as we send you into a a
fun weekend here on a Friday morning stick Landing. By

(18:13):
the way, we were talking about old school sodas back
in the day. You brought up the most racist soda
of all time. Yeah. Uh. Guy writes it and says
that there was a place in Pennsylvania and Central Pa
back in the day called Big Top soda and root beer,
birch beer, grape soda, but never drink cola. And the

(18:38):
only time he drinks coke is out of one of
those thick tall glasses. Man, I'm telling you, you find one
of those vintage stores where they have soda and a glass,
it just tastes different.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Pop in a glass. Yeah, I'm gonna start saying pop again.
Yeah I am too.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah, I's start saying shot us out to the bird pop,
cherry rad definitely cherry red pop. Let's google Little Live
to Uh what do we call soda? And Iowa Insider
Iowa Sam for the latest, It's called pop. Did you
call soda pop in Iowa? Did you know that? Not know?

(19:15):
Do they still call it pop in Iowa? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (19:17):
I heard that they still call soda pop in Iowa.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Okay, So let me ask you this. In the Midwest,
if there's an ad for a supermarket and they've got
a sale on like PEPSI did they say, uh, select
pops on sale or they just call it by name brand?
Then I could say, like soda pop, but you go
to a restaurant, you're going to order a pop? No, kidd,
did you know that they say in Iowa? I didn't

(19:44):
know that.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
I just wanted to make sure everybody out there knew
that pop was the word they used for soda, and I.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Say soda out here, but you know it doesn't have pop.
Iowa's offense. Hey, how's that feel? We got Cad McNamara,
Oh yeah, cool. You also got when your offensive coordinator
is the son of the head coach and he's got
stipulations in his contract that he's got to score a
certain amount of points in order to get paid. That's
a little bit of a problem. All right. Well, producer,

(20:11):
producer die, you know do or die now.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
And it is a producing sport. You know, you think
Kirk Ferretts is going to fire his own son. I
hope so, but no, it's not gonna happen. Yeah, probably not.
All right, So LeVar Arrington, I got.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
To ask you this. Okay, you said my whole name.
All right, So obviously our friends are DraftKings. Yes, they've
got everybody set up for the NFL season. They've got
everybody fired up because they've got odds on all sorts
of stuff. They've even got odds on awards. Now we
talked about tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow, Hamlet, his comeback player of
the year is the lock of the century, Like I don't.

(20:48):
I mean, if he just puts one toe on the field.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
I think if he's on an active roster, he's the
comeback player, even if he doesn't play, even if he
doesn't play one down, like, he's the comeback player.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Even they throw it back to return kicks knowing that
he's just gonna fair catch it and get into.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
How many times can you say, uh, players return from death?

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Like you who who's going to outweigh your comeback?

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Nobody? Like he was like diad, Yeah, feels feels feels
like a bit of a it's a long way. It's
a long way to come from.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
You know, I'm assuming you know right, you know, death
to back on the NFL football field, that that's that's
a comeback. If you're just on an active roster on
the sideline, that's a comeback.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
My favorite is how one of the names on the
Comeback Player of the Year award list is Calvin Ridley,
who's coming back from being a degenerate gambler. So let's
go ahead and give it him an award if he.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
But nonetheless, I mean, he still had to come back.
And by the way it is, it is ironic that
you can bet on that on Calvin Ridley, So why
wouldn't you have a big year? He may have a
big year. But with the news they come in the odds. Wait, wait,
hold on, let's not use those terms.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
When with the news that Bryce Young is now the
QB one in Carolina, I started thinking, okay, well, what
are his odds to be offensive Rookie of the Year,
because he feels like he's the number one overall pick
that would be the one, and instead it's Bjon Robinson,
the running back for the Atlanta Falcons, who is sitting
at plus two point fifty to be the offensive Rookie

(22:31):
of the Year. I can see that, okay, but I
can see that. It feels like in Atlanta, if the
quarterbacks not producing and they know you're just going to
rely on Bjon Robinson. Teams would gear up to stop
Jon Robinson, knowing that the passing game isn't.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
He If he has success early on, they're going to
plan on scheming for him regardless. But as talented as
he is and as past centric as as the NFL
has become, there's always the chance that the offense will

(23:13):
be balanced enough, not balanced enough to win per se,
but balanced enough for him to have success running the
ball one because it's almost like the theory running is
almost matching the theory of the Steph Curry effect on
the NBA. You can't sustain a lead and win the

(23:35):
game unless that running attack literally keeps the other offense
off of the field. Because if you're going to run
the score and you got somebody who's able to score
in like the blink of an eye, you know, with
a lot of these new quarterbacks in this style of
offensive play, running the ball is not sustainable for you

(23:56):
to be able to win games. So the idea of
it is is that he may get a lot of yards,
he may get a lot of calories, so to speak,
and and they're empty. They're empty calories. They're not they're
not full of anything. They're just empty. They're empty yards
because they're not really winning games. It's not his production

(24:17):
isn't leading to them being a super competitive team. It
just might be the idea of he's going to get
his yards, but it's not going to be enough for
them to be able to beat us. He's not going
to dictate the game like say Derrick Henry would, So
to me, I think that's a safe that would be

(24:39):
a safe pick because they're going to lean on him.
I would assume that the Falcons are going to lean
on him heavily for offensive production. Do you know the
last running back was to be named Offensive Rookie of
the year Barkley? We are, it's right, I'm talking about Boom. Yeah,

(25:00):
you go twenty eighteen. By the way, last year, Garrett Wilson,
and before that Jamar Chase, Justin Herbert Kyler Murray and
then Saquon Barkley. So some quarterbacks have been mixed in there,
but back to back years for wide receivers as offensive
rookie of the year. So for you, for those of
you out there not named Calvin Ridley, if you would
like to bet on offensive Rookie of the year, what's

(25:22):
Calvin z odds odds.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Bjeon Robinson is the favorite of plus two fifty, followed
by Bryce Young at five to one, and then Anthony Richardson, C. J. Stroud,
Jackson Smith, and Jigba who apparently he's lighting it up
in Seattle. There's been a lot of rave reviews. And
then Jamiir Gibbs another running back for the Lions that
could be a possibility as well too.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
I mean, Jamir Gibbs is if you think you know,
Bijeon is explosive. Have you watched Jamier Gibbs this film?

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Yeah? Wow. There were some people that said, I think
we talked talked about it at the time because people
were surprised that why Detroit would trade back and take
Jamiir Gibbs. Why wouldn't you have just taken Jean Robinson
when you had your initial pick and there.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
Would have took him. If they had that pick, they
would have took Jamir.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Yeah, so you heard that as well too, Yeah, because
there were some people that said that some scouts liked Gibbs.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
More than they liked Robinson at the next time. I mean,
from what I heard and gathered, that's that's accurate. That's accurate.
Damn Detroit could be low. Dude is a demon on
the field. Brou out of there, out of there, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Could be fun that that right there, That's how it's done.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
He's there. So those are years be fun to watch play.
He's he could in a in a lot of ways.
He could be the dark horse to get Rookie of
the Year because generally speaking, when you're looking at like
shoe ins, like maybe a Bryce Yall or Beejeon Robinson,
it doesn't always pan out that way. You know, It's

(27:06):
like somebody sneaks up on you, Like where did he
come from?

Speaker 1 (27:11):
That could be?

Speaker 4 (27:12):
That could be jamayor man on everything that dude is.
He is explosive and he can give it to you
no matter where you're at on the field.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
He gets a little bit of daylight. He's added air
boy like the guy who finished runner up last year,
Kenneth Walker from Seattle. Nobody had Kenneth Walker as rookie
of the Year coming out of last year. When the
Seahawks took him in the second round, they just thought, listen,
he could be a good player. You know, this could
be you know, he comes out of a wake forest
in Michigan State that could be somebody could be a

(27:44):
little bit productive, but nobody thought Kenneth Walker was going
to be the guy and he missed a couple of games. Otherwise,
the feeling is he could have been Rookie of the
Year last year. Like that's so to your point, somebody
sort of off the radar, like a Jamiir Gibbs sitting
at nine to one or whatever it is. I mean
that that could be a possible not a bad bet.

And a season saver for the Florida Panthers. Yes, so
the key, Yeah, the one and only Eddie Garcia. What

(29:29):
are they kid?

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Oh yeah, they're looking a little bit better today than
they did yesterday. Game three, the Stanley Cup Final, and
the Panthers rally to beat the Golden Knights three to
two in overtime. Florida's Matthew could Chuck one of the heroes.
After taking a big hit and getting knocked out of
the game earlier, he returned to the game end up
scoring the game time goal with two thirteen left in regulation.
Then teammate Cardiff Rajagy won it four twenty seven into

(29:53):

I found myself a nice comfortable seat a bench in
that park and hang out with Walt Disney himself because
I'd be added here. Yeah, the wake me up.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
We took my son on a Friday a couple of
months ago. Man, there was a lot of people. So

Speaker 3 (31:16):
You know what though, is real quick, Like there's the
law in California is they can't ask you what your
issue is, so you could just just go up and
tell them I can't stand in line. I have a
medical issue and they kind of just have to say okay,
and you really.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Yeah wow, wait wait to give out that advice. How
many people you think are going to Disneyland? I mean,
