You gotta lay off those edibles, man, you keep forgetting stuff.
I see I was saying, let's be rocking out, all right,
Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, always pumped to
be here our two hour power hour, the greatest two
(01:13):
hours of the day. I'm feeling it because the Yankees won.
Thank you Dan Byer for the update, because honestly, that's
why I often wonder, like what guys on TV really
know about, like where you're really watching? You're on TV
all day. If you're on TV all day, then how
do you know what's going on?
Speaker 1 (01:30):
For real? For real, for real?
Speaker 2 (01:32):
So I didn't know the Yankees wonder how they won
until Dan Byer told me, because I just got in
right now because you and I were busy all morning,
busy dealing what busy doing more radio. It's what we
do right now, broadcasting live from the tirack dot Com

Speaker 3 (01:57):
And I apologize if I said the Yankees one, they
lost today five nothing, So my apology. Steve Novin kidding
it's making you think you're you think your days bad.
I just told everybody across the country and the globe
that the Yankees actually won.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
So that's that's my front.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
He got me all excited.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Five nothing they lost. You know what, if you don't.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
Believe me, bumpballs softly up the middle fielded by Sweeney
steps on second throws to first.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Tigers win.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Brand Herder closes it after a strong six innings from Terrek, Schooble, mckinstreet, Dingler,
and Carpenter, all with home runs.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Bad Blue park.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Our final score. The Tiger's making five straight, two straight
over the Yankees. Scooble five nothing wins.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
I mean scoobl six innings. You know, blank, your Yanks
can't get upset about that.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
I mean his name was.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Last week, because yeah, I feel like Bayer is a
rich guy.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Rich Davis guy right there.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
That sucks because that's three in a row from the Yankees. Rich,
and I have money on this. Give me you know
so much that I'll tell them the Yankees won even
when they didn't. So five in a row for Detroit,
six in a row for your Mets.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Rich.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
As far as winning, well, Polar Bear pizza right now,
Lindor grounded out. Soto got a nice little single, so
we'll see what happens here. They're down two one to
the Marlins. They moved a lot of the East Coast
games up just for the record East Coast and Midwest
because the weather's so cold that a lot of teams
have moved the night games to afternoon games.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
That's why you're thrown off.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah, so you know, Rich and I if you don't know,
we do a Patreon broadcast right before we go on
Fox Sports Radio. Now, normally I'd be able to watch
the Yankee game, but they moved it earlier because it's
so damn cold that I didn't know what happened. And
then on my right here, I was talking to my mom,
so I really didn't get any updates. But it's good
to be here on Fox Sports Radio again. Congrats to
(03:49):
Billy Ell. By the way, Billy Elle, who had the
best bracket and the Tractor supplied Fox Sports Radio Practice Challenge.
Billy finished with an impressive one hundred have any six points.
Aw he barely beat the second place winner. Billy will
win twenty five hundred dollars in gift cards oh to
(04:10):
Tractor Supply, which is awesome for him. Uh And as
far as the host go Chris Plank finished first with
one hundred and sixty five, followed by Plexico Burrows and
good for Chris Plank. Thankfully, when you have a neighbor
like Tractor Supply, teamwork comes easy, whether you're caring for
pats chickens or a few acres whoa wait our team members,
(04:31):
Attractor Supply here to help. And again, thank you Tractor
Supply for life out here. And by the way, Dan Byer,
did you see that a double down the down the
first base line.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
I'm all, mister met because of a survivor pool this week. Okay,
but I also just went back to the tape. Okay,
this is what I said at the top of the hour.
Let's see if we can hear it here. Who apparently
are still waiting for Aaron Rodgers. Tigers beat the Yankees today?
Five nothing.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Oh you know what I heard? I heard the Yankees one?
I have nothing.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
See.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
It wasn't even your dad, wasn't even.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Just hey, it's all good, calve, you're good with me.
We're cool, man, cool.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
I just can't believe the Yankees lost. That's how delusional
I am. There's no way they lost today. So wow,
man misheard Dan? What a way to start the day.
And what are we to tie the game? That's too
Marlins two Pete alonzo a bloop along the first base line.
Here's our question for you as we think about last
night Florida Houston. You couldn't ask for a closer game, right,
(05:29):
I mean the losing team had the possession of the
of the basketball with you know, ten twenty seconds left,
they had a chance to tie.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
And our buddy Michael Yo, who.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Lives in Vegas, very funny comedian of our old school pals,
he said, yeah, you guys should discuss for at least
a minute.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
What's worse when.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
You lose by missing the game tying or winning shot
or not even getting.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
The ball off? Not getting the ball off?
Speaker 4 (05:54):
That was?
Speaker 6 (05:55):
Is that?
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Like?
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Is that more?
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Discipplined, It's way more disappointing.
Speaker 7 (06:00):
In just over seventeen seconds to get down the court
and get a shot off, there's no excuse for that.
I'm sorry. Even with tight defense, you gotta get the
ball out of your hands.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Here's why I know that has to be the answer,
because I had to watch it again to fully grasp
like what just happened there. I'm like, all right, I gotta.
I couldn't believe what I had just seen. I'm like,
he didn't even get the shot off.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
That's lame.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Is that oblis to prevent the double dribble you saw
at the very end, he like tried to box people
out like someone else.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Yeah, he had to let the ball bounce and take
his hands off.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah, but that was really weak, the weakest way, in
my opinion, you could lose. Yeah, you want to at
least get the shot off, but man couldn't even.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Get it off.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
You know what It's like, It's a it's like at
the end of an NFL game. And I get it,
not every game is gonna end on a hail Mary.
But I always found that weak ass. When an NFL
team had like one play left and the quarterback took
a sack or a guy caught a ball over in
the middle and didn't even try to do a lateral
and he just sort of like went down, It's like,
come on, at least create the illusion that you're trying.
(07:02):
Give me some desperation shot again. That's why it's called
to hail mary. Give me something, throw it up. Don't
do what you did there. And that was horrible and
that's hard to live with. You ask him how he
feels about it today.
Speaker 8 (07:14):
It was both a chaotic ending and anti climactic ending
at the same time.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Well, it plays on right now, and it's just, yeah,
you're like, what you didn't get it off. That's a
hard one to swall off here, ah And he knew,
you know, to box him out the minute he jumped up,
and he realized, if I shoot this, maybe he should
have held on in hope for a foul.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I mean, hindsight's twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
But if he holds that ball co you know that
defender's coming in hard, maybe you get a foul call.
You just gotta feel bad for Houston because how often
does a team like Houston get this opportunity?
Speaker 1 (07:46):
That was their window a shot. And now who knows
when you're going to get back.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
The NCAA is tough, march madness, not easy to get
back unless you're like Yukon women's basketball.
Speaker 8 (07:57):
It could be another decade or so before they ever
in the final four. Yukon's been there, they they I'm sorry,
Houston's been there competing. They went to the final fours.
Kelvin Samson's first Final four them into twenty twenty one,
So I think they'll be in the mix. But yeah,
to get to the title game and you're already slated, Duke.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
You're in the title game down by two with the ball,
like you know, you got to clutch shots the National
champions right there.
Speaker 8 (08:20):
You hit a shot, you tie the game. It's it's
it's it's gonna be tough to live with.
Speaker 7 (08:23):
That was Sharp, by the way, who was forced to
drop the ball after Clayton rose up to block a shot.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Yeah, he had a couple of blunders down down the
stretch there, but not.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Throwing away my shot. He threw away his shot.
Speaker 8 (08:34):
I feel bad for him. I feel bad for Kelvin Samson.
When they zoomed in on Samson's face at the end,
he's just staring into the distance. I want to talk
to sam what I want to talk to Samson? It
just like happened and he's just watching and he just
like staring, and You're like, I just feel terrible for
the guy.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
That's what I'm saying. So to answer Michael Yo's question,
it's a great question too. What's up Michael Yo, famous
comedian and broadcaster listening to our show, Sampson if he
if sharp just threw up the shot and he missed. Ah,
you know it happens, right, He had one last shot.
Not gonna throw away your shot. He threw away that shot,
(09:11):
that one shot, and that's the hardest pill to swallow.
Like everybody has that one girl, that one guy that
got away.
Speaker 7 (09:17):
Like, ah, it was a tough play because that kind
that big arm in hand right at his shooting, he
could try to take the foul in his mind, his
shot was gonna get blocked.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Richard cries about stocks that he should have bought, should have,
would have, could have, investments. You should have bought in
all that property. I should have bought it when it
was available. This dude is gonna forever ever, ever remember
not getting that shot off forever. Not getting the shot
off is way worse. Not taking that shot is way
worse than shooting it and actually missing forever, forever, forever,
(09:53):
for ever, because there's always the comfort in knowing that
you took that shot and that I'm using that as
a metaphor in life. Right, Hey, better to known that
you tried and failed than not getting off the shot. Yeah,
that's horrible, man, You Knowice, I give the analogy when
they don't even get off the Hall Mary or don't
even get off the play in the NFL or college football.
(10:14):
I feel like a guy like Carlos Beltron, Carlos Beltron,
it's got to haunt him, you know, borderline Hall of
Fame career. As Francisco Lindor said yesterday, I got a
lot of work to do if Beltron's not in the Hall
of Fame. Carlos Beltron an amazing career, one of the
best defensive center fielders, clutch player. He carried the Astros,
(10:35):
remember that postseason like dominant, like a great player. I
still think his greatest highlight is when he painted his head.
I mean that is That's the one I picture. He
has a black painted head, already has a black painted head.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Believe he was on the Rangers.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
At the time, right, But I mean, Carlos Beltron, I
know we're going back almost twenty years, but I know
it was the sickest cur curveball some would say in
postseason history. But when he just watched Adam Wayne Wright's
for a ball strike, three Cardinals end up going to
the World Series.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
How was your shot?
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I mean, you don't think Beltroll was like, oh man,
I looked at strike three in Game seven, you looked
at it. I mean, think about it this favorite. Let's
say you had a million dollar shot. Do you want
to at least take the shot or not get it off.
I'd rather take that shot and miss than wonder.
Speaker 8 (11:20):
So it is better to have loved and lost than
to have never loved at all. That's it, Sam, Way
to wrap it up for real, I didn't come up
at time.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
I'm gonna say he did that.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
That was a good one, Sam.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
I don't know how, Sam, he came up with it.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
I don't know how you love it. But it was
very eloquent.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
So again it's Cavino and Rich the Yankees loss. Lets
be clear on that. So now I'm sad. You know
to quote? You know, Sam? I was Sam? Quote I
was Sam. I believe you said better to have loved
and lost. He did say that than he never loved
it all.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Now I like that.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
I want you guys to think about something else. Sorry,
I'm gonna pose a question, and I want you to
think about it.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Who or what?
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Who or what?
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Because maybe it's a group of people who who or
what is better when they're fat? Because there's a trend
going on and Edelman and Gronky are not okay with it.
So before we get into cockiness and confidence, we never
got to that yesterday, Before we give away prizes and
play last one standing here on the show, we got
(12:19):
to talk about who or what is better when fat
and listen, it's terrible because fat also means you're saying,
I like you better unhealthy, right, Right, of course you've
got to point that out too, right, there's some health
benefits involved in this conversation.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
So we do it respectfully.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
But this is all based on Rob Gronkowski and Julian
Edelman bantering about today's NFL coaches.
Speaker 9 (12:43):
You want to know what's a disappointment here is that
these coaches are starting to get in shape now. Man,
They're looking like they've been working out with the players,
throwing some routes, going for jogs. Like there's a lot
of positional coaches that are still looking like coaches. But
these guys right now are looking slim, looking jack looking
like they go for a raw. I'm actually looking like
they go and lift some weights. But we need coaches
to get fat again. Remember we wanted Dolla to get
(13:05):
fat when he was coaching with a Los Angeles Raiders.
That's a true typical coach is when they're fat and overweight,
that means you're the best out there. So I think
the problem is is.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
That o Zempe came out, so you gotta start testing them.
Speaker 9 (13:16):
It should be on the ped lest for these coaches.
We need them fat again. It makes football better.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Is he saying make coaches fat again. Yes, he's saying
make coaches fat again. He's saying Ozempic is changing the game.
And it is not only in sports or coaches, but
in Hollywood and real life life. We see it all
over the place. I don't know if coaches are on it.
I don't know that, but I do know that he's
onto something. When you think of these younger guys to
Sean mcvay's of the world, they're young and in shape,
(13:44):
and the time of the Andy Reid type of coach
is sort of going away, and Gronk is saying, yo,
that's not how it should be. I get more respect
for the fat guy coach. And it's kind of funny
when you hear them talk about it. So it makes
you think if coaches are better fat, And that's how
I do picture coaches like old coaches, just like old
(14:04):
fat guys, but they're not anymore.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
You just picturing Andy Reid.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yeah, but I just you know, like Parcel and dudes
like that John Madden later on.
Speaker 8 (14:14):
Bigger guy, like bigger Guy Romeo Crinell, Yeah, or even
like Mike McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
You know, but there is a trend of younger fitter.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
You're picturing guys like Sean McVay who got muscles, and
so picturing like you're your old high school coaches. Right,
It's like the fat gym teacher or something. So who
or what based on that is better fat? And is
there a number one answer? Because I think of one
person in particular and then one genre in particular. Okay,
(14:48):
is the person the same that you, me and Big
Michael agreed with? Who you know the guy that runs
his place? Mike never heard of them. I'll throw it
out there. I don't want to give away the number
one answer, but I might.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Now I'm wondering if we're all thinking the same thing.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
There's an actor that to me was better fat, and
I'm sure healthier now and good for him. But John Goodman,
oh no, that's not where I was telling me. John Goodman,
I'm sure, that's a good answer. He's feeling good, he's
feeling southern. But I think of King Ralph John Goodman.
I'm thinking Roseanne John Goodman. Now, John Goodman's like a
(15:22):
slender fellow.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
We have to quit. He quit drinking. That's what he said.
He's like, I got rid of the rage for me
and I.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
So again, that's why we say respectfully. We understand he's
healthier and good for him. We're happy for him. But
I'm with rich. When I picture John Goodman, I picture
like Babe Ruth Babe John Babe.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (15:38):
There's there's a list of comedians and comedians who have
lost some of their funny once they got thinned, like
Jonah Hill.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
There. I was thinking of a few yesterday when we
were talking about him.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
It has to be the number one.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
What in genre of people like comedians often associated.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
With being funnier when fat and when they lose weight.
Speaker 7 (15:57):
Gath again has been joking about it because he shared
his eight Lost Journey recently.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
But my answer, the first one that comes to me
is like a Drew Carrie, Oh yeah, right, like he
was no longer funny.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Would say someoneould say he was never funny.
Speaker 6 (16:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
I thought he was a funny dude.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
But like as the host of Price is right, he's
just like, ah, he's just the host now, he's nothing
really funny about the guy anymore.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
And not again and.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Again respectful, respectfully. Sometimes when someone's a bigger fella and
they lose that weight, their head looks big or something, right,
that's funny. Yeah, it's hard. I'll give you one. And
she's addressed it. So it's not me being uh, you know,
I know where you're going. It's not me being rude.
She's addressed it. But her character's name in Pitch Perfect
(16:40):
was fat Amy. Rebel Wilson looks beautiful and thin, man
in shape, and I feel like this is a bad conversation,
probably healthier. But Rebel Wilson has said that she's looked
at differently because people looked at her as like the
funny big girl.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
I got another one. This is the truth. Don't try
away from this. I'm not.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Don't let twenty twenty five beat you t don't let
gen Z be sensitive people in my ears and his bottom.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Don't let it. But I'll say it.
Speaker 6 (17:06):
I'm say it.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
Say it.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Come on, you're gonna tell me Adele is better now
than what she used to be, Like she had credibility.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
To me, she had credibility, like, oh she's a big one.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Are you also saying you like big Luther.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
It's like it's like, don't fool me.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Like remember when CNC Music Factory had that big woman
singing and they positioned it with like some fit other woman.
I think they had more credibility when it was the
other woman because.
Speaker 8 (17:34):
You're thinking of Mama cass Elliott's big, she's got the mask,
got them pipe that lady.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Yeah, like the fellis and that I give that credibility
like Adele to me now like hot Adele or like
good looking Adele.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Yeah, healthier Adele. I give all the credit in the world.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
You're talking about Martha Walsh.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
By the way, people is that there's just as talented
and people are just as funny, but for whatever reason,
it's never the same.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
As Martha Walsh, the bigger woman that got she is.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Oh you know people once said, you know it was
over when she sang, but people didn't.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Know, right, right, people didn't know, so get it over?
Speaker 2 (18:09):
When the fat ladies saying coo or what is sort
of better for me, because there is a trend in
the NFL. According to Gronk and I mean according to
us Gronk and Edelman, they say coaches today are not
the coaches of yesteryear. Coaches of yesteryear were sort of
sloppy and overweight. Coaches today slim and trim and fit.
(18:31):
They're polo tucked in, real nice. Well, you know Robert
Sala comedian jacked like salid Robert Salad, it looks like
a guy that would be he looks like a fitnis
in starting Robert Fall looks like the instructor that's trying
to sleep with your wife, like at the gym, Like, hey,
what's a Robert Salad?
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Great example of a ripped coach.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Now, I was thinking like comedians and hosts and stuff,
it's there. There is something we said about comedian Matt Rife,
who's like the young handsome dude.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Yeah, it's he breaks.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
The mold and it's almost tough in a way to
be the I guess you would say, like young handsome
comedian like him, goes, yeah, you can't be too good looking,
no one thinks you're funny, and you can't act like
you're the smartest guy either. You can't be too smart
because then you're talking down to people. No one likes
that either, Like, I'm sure, how would we receive it
at Fluffy Gaba Glaciers. What if he just got all trim?
(19:23):
His whole character is like I'm fluffy, see, but I
think it's on the It's really on the audience. Is
he any less funny?
Speaker 1 (19:29):
I don't know. It's a weird thing. Are these coaches
any less good? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (19:34):
But you remember, like comedian Jumpinette, his whole bit was
based on like you've been here four hours he was
at the cafe and like a lot of these jokes
relied on like.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
Almost gotta find a new act, like a new stick.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
You can't call him fluffy if he's not fluffy, right,
Like you know what? I know.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
It always bothers me when a hot female comedian talks
about like the woes of dating.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
I'm like, stop it. You could date him? Stop?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
So yeah, just the question a thought based on on
Gronk and Edelman's conversation. It was kind of a funny
one because you do see the difference. You do see
the expectation of what a coach used to be and
what a coach is now or what the trend seems
to be. These guys are younger and more fit than
coaches previously.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Well, you know what, coming out to to make.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
A point here, Let's also keep in mind that you
can't hate on someone because people will trying to better themselves.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
And that's that's the bummer, right.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
It's like you, a lot of times actors, musicians, athletes, coaches,
they'll they'll trim up and instead of people being like, oh,
congratulations for all the hard work you did, you know,
people say I missed the fat you.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
You don't think that messes with them a little bit?
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Absolutely, Yeah, it's not It's not fair. So that's what
I'm saying. It's probably on us and our expectations as
the viewer or the audience. That's not me or cominal
blame Gronkin Edelman and they know you may have a
personal story like yeah, my buddy, you know, I like them,
but yeah, and now he's he's all thin and full
of himself. Because they're saying o zembic is changing the
(21:05):
dynamic of friendships all over the world because that person
is no longer the person that they once were. So
they're not even acting I had a college buddy who's
a bigger dude, but he leaned into it. Like his
whole persona in college was Yo, I could eat more
wings than anyone.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
I could guzzle beer. Fat Larry. He wear a big
Hawaian tea, you know.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
And what happens that guy he did that guy when
he slims up, he almost has to adjust his I
guess you would say it like this person's whole persona esteem.
I know it sounds I know it sounds ridiculous. Your
self esteem will maybe not if you're the beer and
wing guy wearing Hawaiian shirts all the time and you
lose that weight, Yeah, your identity exactly.
Speaker 8 (21:49):
You have to adjust, like it's a good adjustment for
your health. But if you're the guy that everyone's like,
you know, and you're the guy.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
That's ripping off your you know, you're shaking your belly
like your chunk from uh goonies and you're doing cake
stands and eating you know, fifty wings, and everyone's like, man,
fat Larry. Fat Larry's like, yeah, guys, I'm gonna get
to salmon with rice and I'm really trimming down and
I'm a different guy.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
Now.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
That's an adjustment because people like, come on, so, uh
Gronk Edelman, very funny clip. Do coaches need to be fat?
We're looking at the NFL now there's more ripped coaches
than ever because people care about health and fitness the end.
But I thought it was a funny observation. We got
a lot to get to. Cocky or confident. That's a
quarterback question we've got to break down. Yeah, there is
(22:34):
a difference, and I'll tell you exactly what that is.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
A coach of a.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Top seeded NBA team shown the door today, what's going
on in the NBA? And Danny G threw a stat
at me that you got to hear to believe. Danny
G threw a shoe at you because you weren't paying attention.
Danny G gave me a stat that I couldn't believe it.
We're a week away from the postseason and there's an
NBA stat unlike anything you've ever seen. So we'll get
to all that next right here. Fox Sports Radio Cavin
(22:59):
on Rich tires matter. They're the only part of your

Speaker 2 (23:40):
I want everyone to go to tirac dot com, slash
sports see their fulcon test results, ratings and consumer reviews.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Be sure to check out all the current special offers.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
That's tirac dot com, slash Sports, tire rack dot com
the way tire buying should be. Yoh, I got the
best answers on the board. I really put my thinking
cap on Rich. During commercial, We're Covino and Rich and ooh,
because she's saying Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio
(24:11):
Live from the Tiraq dot Com Studio anyone else? Yes,
remember that being one of their first CDs. Yeah, I
got it for Penny Columbia House. I stole them, I
stole the money. Yeah, coming after you.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
So we're gonna get the cockiness or confidence and what's
the difference. There's a story about Baker Mayfield and Shure Sanders.
We didn't get to yesterday, and we're gonna play the
last one standing. But we pose a question of who
or what is better when they're bigger, when they're fatter.
Based on the conversation Gronk and Edelman had that NFL
coaches are better when they're fatter. We're gonna get your
(24:44):
phocals to a eight seven seven ninety nine one Fox.
If you missed it, take a quick listen, and I
got some other examples you.
Speaker 9 (24:50):
I know, what's a disappointment here is that these coaches
are starting to get in shape now.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
Man.
Speaker 9 (24:54):
They're looking like they've been working out with the players,
throwing some routes for jobs.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Like there's a lot of.
Speaker 9 (24:59):
Position coaches that are still looking like coaches, But these
guys right now are looking slim, looking jack looking like
they go for a run actually looking like they go
and lift some weights. But we need coaches to get
fat again. Remember we wanted Dola to get fat when
he was coaching with the Los Angeles Raiders. That's a
true typical coach is when they're fat and overweight, that
means you're the best out there. So I think the
(25:20):
problem is is that oh Zempe came out, so they
gotta start testing. It should be on the ped list
for these coaches.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
We need them fat again. It makes football better.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
They said they were encouraging em Mon Doola to gain
a lot of weight just to gain more respect as
a coach.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Tell you don't blame us.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
This is a grunk thought, but it's who funny was,
who's better. Of course, losing weight and getting healthy is
the priority, and we commend that and congratulate anyone that has.
But in our stupid brains, what are some other things
that are better when they're bigger, right when they're fat?
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I got a few answers. Let me know if you.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Agree, Spot said Horatio Sanz said he was funnier when
he was bigger.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Okay, but I have.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
People, okay, starily a person Okay, how about home plate
umpires way better on their plate. Oh specifically right way
bigger as a fat guy, no doubt. All right, that
being said, how about little catchers?
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Right?
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Did you have confidence you know when the great hand
Bino was behind the plate, no diggity, no doubt, or
her first baseman?
Speaker 8 (26:18):
Wait, can I actually comment on So there's a bit
of an optical illusion going on though it both the
umpire behind home plate and the catcher wear a guard,
and so it makes them look bigger than they are.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
But I always look to you at bellies as.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
A kid that took the mound Iowa, Sam, you know
little league superstar that I was. Let me tell you
how great I felt when it was a big kid
behind home he packd at twelve by the way, Yeah
all right, ready another another position or person that's better
when they're bigger.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
How about a chef.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
If a big fat chef beard he comes out, you
don't you give him more credit?
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Like one of the.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
Most one of the most famous ones when we were
kids was that chef on the motorized scooter.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
Yeah, he was so big he couldn't walk. Remember, I
love it.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
They don't want a skinny chef. What does he know
about food? How about this rich. You're gonna love this one.
Tuba player or trombone player, I don't know. I just
feel like, I know, like the bass drump player in
the Marching Band, it's more impressive. Yeah, th oh if
they're thinn No, man, I don't give them any credibility.
I got two people that one I don't want to
(27:17):
lose too much weight because I feel like it's our identity,
and one that's very different looking.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Now.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Hell, I know health was part of it, but Randy Jackson, yeah, ye,
American idol. I know some of it was health related,
but but he looked good and he wasn't like super big,
but look, I get it. How about his health as well?
What about a guy like Jelly Roll if he got
too skinny, isn't his name is?
Speaker 7 (27:40):
Yeah, and there's some actors and actresses and singers who
actually look better with weight on them, Like think about
Ariana Grande right.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Now, dude, Yeah, totally yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
I mean it goes both directions here.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
No, it absolutely does. But this is based on that conversation.
Just want to have some fun with it. Wrapping up
your phone calls and then DB's got an update and
we'll talk about cockiness and confidence.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Who do we got? That is our buddy Trip in Vegas?
What's up? Trip, Hey, Trip.
Speaker 10 (28:04):
Hey, good afternoon, guys. I got a couple. And then
I think the number one answer goodness, good to Tokyo.
I would go with Melissa McCarthy. I don't think I've
said that because she lost all that weight, and you
know what, that's funny.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
The whole show her and actor Billy Gardell. Remember Mike
and Molly. It was based on them meeting at a
like a dude, have you seen Billy Gardell? He lost
a lot of weight, man, I mean, God bless him.
But and again, I do think that's on us. It
is unfair, but it's a very common sentiment that I mean,
they were funnier.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
It really is.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
It's unfair, but it's to feel that way.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Yes, right, yeah, what else?
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Trip?
Speaker 10 (28:41):
Okay? And then genre? How about opera singers? I don't
want some skinny opera dude, totally.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Bro I'm picturing was skinny. I wouldn't care.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Pat, and oh you can't have that guy being one
hundred and thirty pounds eighty pounds.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
That's a great one. Thank you, trip Eli and Fresne.
What's up?
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Man?
Speaker 10 (28:58):
What's that being rich? You know, I got a google
for you guys.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
Guys, what's up this one?
Speaker 10 (29:04):
He a sin We're talking about epic. He took a
magic he took a magic Ozanpik.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Who do we love better?
Speaker 4 (29:09):
Buddy Love or the or the Muddy Professor?
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Buddy Love? Buddy Love was he was a nightmare? Yeah,
Sherman Klump was a real nice man.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
But you know, just just to prove it, how sometimes
when someone's a little bigger, they're more lovable. Who's like
the most lovable baseball player over the last twenty years,
like Bartolo Cologne and why because he was like.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
A bigger guy.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Yeah, that's the other weird part of the dynamic, right,
Oh they're so lovable, but they're not happy a lot
of times in that situation. So again we understand it
sounds selfish, it sounds weird, but it's just based on
his coach theory. One more phone call to wrap it up.
Let's do it, Travis and send Fernando.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
What's a san Fernando? What's up?
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Yeah, I've got a fat thing. But also before Dan
Byer goes on vacation, I have a game show.
Speaker 10 (29:58):
He can hose he could do a master's golfer or
Arby's worker.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Oh you know what we could we can do around
of our old game, but Arby's worker.
Speaker 9 (30:11):
And then for the uh, a family pet a cat
or a dog that as the whole family can just
kind of make fun of.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
That's that's a good one.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
Oh my god, cat, have you got a fat cat? Yeah,
that's a good one.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Do we have one more phone call you?
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Okay, you know what. We're good on it. Now again,
we're gonna talk cockiness and confidence. What's the difference. You
can start thinking about that the clear answer. But there's
a clear answer, and we're gonna do that next. But
first there he is the host of is it a golfer?
Arby's worker?
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Verybody?
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Wait, doesn't Danny have to throw at the spot? And
then Spot throws it to me? And then we play
the game like do all of those gymnastics to good time,
roll some dice and move along. Here, Cavino, in case
you missed it.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
Softly up the middle fielded by a sweetish on second
throws to first.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Tigers win.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
Great Order closes it out after a strong six innings
from Trek Scooball Charcoalson mckinstreet, Dingler, and Carpenter all with
home runs. Good day at the ballpark. Our final score
the Tiger's making five straight, two straight over the Yankees
with a five nothing win.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Yes, that was the final today. I hate Tigers Radio Network.
You had me thinking that I said the wrong thing
as well, and now I maybe I'm taking it out
so wild dudecause honestly my ears heard like the Yankees
won five nothing today, But nope, I was wrong. Rich's
Mets right now threatening in the fifth they got runners
at the corners in a tie game with the Marlins
(31:42):
at two a piece, while the Guardians just got out
of a jam. They're scoreless with the White Sox in
the sixth inning. The big news of the day is
the firing of Nuggets head coach Michael Malone and general
manager Calvin Booth with just three games left in the
regular season. Krocky Sports Entertainment vice chaired Josh Kronke, speaking
within the last hour on the moves made today.
Speaker 6 (32:04):
This wasn't a decision that was taken lightly or taken
as a reactionary fashion to anything specific. You know, having
observed that group over your period of time, there were
certain trends that were very worrisome to me at different
points in time, but they would get masked by a
few wins here and there. And you know, in the
world of professional sports, when winning and losing is your currency,
(32:26):
you know, winning can mask a lot of things.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Nuggets right now in the fourth spot. That looks great,
but they've lost their last four. They're just a half
game separates the fourth spot in the eight spot in
the West. So the Nuggets made the move today to
fire their all time wins leader with four hundred and
seventy one in Malone and Calvin Booth, the GM out
after eight seasons with the team. Assistant David Adelman will
serve as the team's interim head coach for the rest
(32:49):
of the season.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
And yes, the Masters starts on Thursday.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Rory mcelroyalty at one twelve Eastern time, Bryce in de
Shamba eleven minutes later, while defending champion Scottie scheffler T's
at ten point fifteen Eastern time Thursday morning. Finally, guys,
some news from the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing
in Shador Sanders, the Colorado quarterback, for an official Top
thirty visit. Coming up on Thursday, according to multiple reports,
follow us back to you.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Thanks, Deep.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Actually, we're going to talk about Shidhor Sanders in just
a little bit, and what is the difference between cocky
and confident? Think about that and we'll take your feedback
next right here on Fox Sports Radio, Cavino and Rich. Now,
a lot of people are looking at us today, like, man,
why does the show look so damn good? Thanks Travis Matthew. Yeah,
(33:35):
look at Rich. Travis matthew dad overshirt. He's rocking right
now and it's like a nice day out here in

Speaker 1 (33:41):

funny dude on social media, really motivation with the kids.

Danny g. Bayer, Sam Spot, everybody's here. Thank you guys
for hanging with us.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
Now.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
It was a story yesterday that Dan Orlovsky was saying
that we have to have the same energy about Shador
Sanders that we did about Baker Mayfield. Dan Rolowski, you
mean the guy that made me shed tears with the
beautiful story about his son first and first and mostly
all right, Rich last week was Autism Awareness Week. That
(37:15):
was the most beautiful story where his son's artwork death,
the despn touch that made me cry as much as
the dude from Love on the Spectrum Tanner on the
Kelly Clarkson Show meeting Jack Black. That was incredible. Yeah,
that show itself love on the spectrums, incredible. Shout out
to Connor and Tanner, But yeah, Danner Orolofsky's son, that
was beautiful. I shed one Vattel tier you know I
(37:37):
don't have many of them. Yeah, dude, I don't know
if you know. Votos have ninety six tier drops they
could use in their life. That's true, and I used
one for Orlovsky. So everything I say is, you know, respectfully.
He says, we can't praise Baker Mayfield and fall in
love with Baker Mayfield because of his riz. He didn't
say that, but he said because of his charisma, cockiness
(38:00):
and his self belief.
Speaker 4 (38:01):
And then kind of you. It's different with Shadoor.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
So that's dan or Alovsky on the criticisms of Shador Sanders. Now,
do I understand what he's saying? Do we understand what
he's saying? Absolutely? I get it right. What's what's good
for the goose should be good for the gander or whatever.
We got to treat these things equally. However, I want
to remind everybody I don't think we all love Baker
Mayfield in the beginning.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
That is one accurate, right.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
We gave Baker Mayfield so much flack about his dance
moves and his cockiness and his commercials and his dedication
to football.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
Like, we gave that dude so much.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
He just played his heart out so hard and proved
us all wrong and he kind of won us over.
I think so I think the same should apply for Shador.
If that's how we're If that's how you view Shador,
then in the same way, then yeah, he's gonna or
he should win you over eventually with his dedication to
the game and his toughness. I think that's the one
hole in the Dan Orlovski analysis of Shador and Baker.
(39:01):
You're a hondo percento, right, thank you? Yeah, I love Orlovsky.
I'm not coming at him. I'm just saying I don't
agree with that because I root for Mayfield now, but
I remember not liking the guy. There were times where
Camino would come on the show and be like, look
at him doing his stupid dance.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
He hasn't proven not anything.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
We grew to love Baker because his cockiness was checked
a little bit. His ka went into conference, but it
was and it was humbled, right, humility. It was as
as your mom hates when you say humbleness. I say humbleness,
My mom says, it's humility, you idiot. His humility is
what made you love Baker Mayfield when he saw some
(39:41):
tough times and you're like, all right, this cocky kid
got checked a little bit and he came out on
the other side humble with his humbleness. It's humility, and
I think that's why we love Baker. I've always thought
there was a big difference between cocky and confident, and
I think this applies very much to the dating world
because listen, let's be honest, it's all the same right, workplace, dating, sports,
(40:02):
It's all just personality, traits and relationships. Yeah, when you're dating,
when you're a single man and you're in the dating
scene or a single lady, what's up, Beyonce? I was
the difference between confidence and cocky was the ability to
laugh at yourself and not take yourself serious. You could
be a guy that's like, man, that guy's pretty cocky.
(40:24):
But if he is always okay to be the butt
of the joke, he makes fun of himself, he doesn't
take himself serious, does it with a smile.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Does it with a smile?
Speaker 2 (40:32):
He could be cocky, but people are like, nah, it's
a confidence. Cocky is when someone is so sure themselves.
But my goodness, don't you dare question them because like
they don't like the joke ever at the cockiness borders
on arrogance, right, and what is the eliminator of that?
(40:52):
Like I said, I think Richard said it like doing
it with a smile and just the true belief in yourself.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
That's confidence. We work with people.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
I'm not gonna say he or there or when, but
there's people that get in their own way because I'm like,
you know, they're cocky like they and that rupts everybody
that right here? Yeah no, they no, but there is
there's a fine line, like I'll use myself as an
example just to keep other people out of the conversation.
Feel yes, I feel like that's the vibe that I
(41:20):
might give off until you really get to know me
and you're like, oh, yeah, this guy doesn't take himself
that he does it with a smile. I could see
I have a resting d face and people would assume.
Speaker 8 (41:30):
That about but I resting, resting deface Yeah, rest debate
rest I.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
Do think Cavino is one of those guys. You could
look at me like he's cocky, but.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
