A Rah, let's do this, good morning, weird? What's up Buddy,
Covino and Rich? Day one of the Dan Patrick hat Trick,
which means, oh.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Man, three to row three days of your favorite bosos
Covino and Rich normally Monday through Friday, two to four
on the West, five to seven pm on the East.
But when they say, hey, you want to do the
hat trick? When to fill in for DP, we say yes.
And it's not just us. We brought the whole team
with us super producing Danny g on the xylophones today,

(00:40):
Iowa Samuel. Great to see Iowa sam with us today,
spots on the videos.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
If you guys want to play along.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
At home or in your car, or at the office
at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. Hope you
had a great weekend, A Rory McElroy sort of weekend,
A Covino and Rich sort of weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Great weekend. Yeah, we had a great Yeah. I was
just thinking about it.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
I'm gonna tell you all about it here on the
show again. Brought to you by tire rack dot Com,
the official tire expert and retailer of the Dan Patrick Show.
Go to tierrack dot com slash Dan try the Tire
Decision Guide and see the full line of Goodyear tires
special offers pre road hazard protection and mobile tire installation
ti I rack dot comly tire buying should be. I

(01:25):
feel like Danny was getting tired of playing the xylophone. Yeah,
I know, he traded off with Sam. There so lots
coming up on today's show, giving away prizes. Today we're
gonna play Last One Standing. We're gonna talk about The
Last of Us. Perhaps whatever you do last weekend. I
started last night. We had such a long, busy weekend.

(01:45):
I started last night and I started falling asleep, not
because it wasn't good. I was actually reminded of how
good that show was. But Season two of the Last
of Us premiered last night on HBO Max, and it's
been like five years since we saw the first seats
time hop in the show too. Yeah, they time hopped
five years. But had a busy weekend. Hope you enjoyed yours.

(02:08):
It's spring break now for the kiddies out here on
the West Side in Los Angeles, so enjoy the week.
Let's get it going and try the less traffic, Yeah,
less traffic, but exciting always to be here. And like
I said, we're giving away prizes. We're gonna talk Isaiah
Thomas and Lebron. We have a two prong Lebron thought

(02:30):
to share with you. Did I lose my man card
over the weekend? We'll explain there's a rule, a CNR
on FSR rule that every man has to live by.
Did I lose my card? Plus Paid Sporadic.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yea, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Well she's got a theory that I think we can
all get behind. Yeah, I'll exciting. So we're not necessarily
going to talk Rory McElroy, but we are going to
talk masters and golf. Something that Paid Sporadic said about it.
But we just came back from sack down my own town,
man Stephen Anthony Covino's town, the real Stephen A's town, Sacramento, Sacramento.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Where you at.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
We just came back from Sacramento and had a blast.
As I said to Cavino, if we had to taken
this trip thanks to our buddy Hime, who was like, hey,
your Mets are playing up here. When it comes see
the Mets A's I don't know if I've ever would
have went to Sacramento in my life. I mean, you
don't know that we are now syndicated in Sacramento. So

(03:30):
our show is on every afternoon and right now in Sacramento.
So how do you know they wouldn't say, hey, come
down here and broadcast live. They already did, remember they
asked us to come to the Brewfest. You know, it
is further than you realize though, from Los Ago to
a judge a hot dog eating contest, Hey why not?
Why wouldn't I go out there? So I wouldn't say never.

(03:51):
That's a wild statement to make. But ironically, what we've
been out here over fifteen years, I've been out in
Los Angeles, never been to Sacramento unless you're a Kings fan,
unless you were going to see the state capitol with
your kid on a field trip or something.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
There are reasons which we saw.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
We found our way up to Sacramento, California for the mets.
A's our buddies like, hey, get your plane tickets.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Quick flight from LA. It's like fifty minutes, fifty.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Five minutes there, spent the day fifty five minutes back.
So we spent our Sunday or yesterday in Sacramento watching
the Mets beat the A's, who are just stinking like
a blink, and you have to imagine a B. Lincoln
probably had some stank stank. I mean it was the
eighteen hundred. I mean they showered like once a month. Yeah,
with a stick, right, they put like a little cloth

(04:42):
on a stick.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
I mean that was Spartacus. But in Spartacus that's how
the used to wipe their butts. River that show.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, put a leaf on a stick. Yeah, focus, focus,
not comfortable. So Rich's theory is this, we were in Sacramento.
I don't even want to harp on this because the
most ridiculous thing I ever heard, Rich was saying, you know,
chances are hadn't the Mets played here, we would have
never been Sacramento.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I don't know about that. That's Riches's theory.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
But then he was like sort of having an edible moment,
even though he wasn't on any He was like, just
take a look around, man, we would have never seen
this place.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
There's so much world. We would have never seen.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
These people, they would have never existed hadn't we come today.
I'm like, no, pretty sure there's still existing.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
It's strangely because it is the capital of California. No,
to say you would never go to the capitol is
kind of strange.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Yeah, he's like, all these people like we would have
never seen them. There was a place I'm like, dude,
we're on the air in Sacramento. There was a place
on Mars right next to where the Kings play, and
it was called punch Bowl Social. It was like a
bar that had a little bowling alley, video games. It's
kind of like of a more adult Dave and Buster
sort of type like sports bar activities games. And we

(05:51):
had a couple hours to kill after the game before
our flight, so we went. We bowled and had a
couple whole story in itself, had a couple of drinks,
had some apps, and that's where I had the thought
of look around, dude, look at there's all these families
wearing their Sacramento Kings gear. There's a whole world in Sacramento,
a whole scene going on that you would have never
known existed had you not come here.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
And that's just so indicative of the world.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
And we all have those friends or family members that
never leave their hometown, so all they know they have
no perspective is their little pocket.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Yeah, they know nothing.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
We have friends and family members like that who never
leave their hometown.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
That's what Peee Herman did.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Remember that in Pee's last Netflix movie, he never left
the parameters of his own town, his hometown movie.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Joe Manganello, you got to see.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
The world because when you don't travel and you don't
go out and meet people and see the other scenes
that you describe, Rich, what perspective do you really have?
But that perspective is all relative, because there's an Anthony
Bourdaine out there who travels the world and he thinks
your perspective is weak. And then there's an astronaut who
thinks Anthony Moore Dane's perspective was weak. You know what

(07:03):
I mean, Like it's all relative to the size of
your steeple. But it was nice to be out there,
even though I was listening to Rich try to explain
how mind blested he was that like, look at all
these Kings fans. I think that's what blew you away.
People out there, they just made the play tournament there.
They must be pumped, all these Kings fans and now
the a's around here. Look at this scene say what

(07:25):
you have that feeling in your own neck of the woods.
Sometimes like you'll see a place. It could be some
like weird looking haul or a weird restaurant and you're like,
who goes in there? And if you ever stumble in there?
You walk here like, wow, this place is packed. I
didn't think anyone came here. How did I not know
about this scene? Or when my daughter got into cross

(07:48):
country running, like all of a sudden, you're.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Like, wow, this is a scene.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
There's so many like undiscovered scenes. You just got your
head up your ass, That's what I'm saying. And I
think either you or someone in your family or one
of your closest friends. Yeah, my daughter's a cheerleader. Now,
so now guess what I'm in all these gymnasiums, Like.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Man, what a scene.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
I didn't know this was going on every Saturday Sunday afternoon.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
What a scene? Like the awareness theory when you become.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
A parent and then you realize you look around, You're like,
oh my god, there's a lot of people strollers that
you you enter a world of cartoons and kids stuff
that the little kids see.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Oh my god, they got checked for an eight hundred
dollars stroller too.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah, exactly if you're reading or trying your hardest to
read between the lines, this is more of like again
a stoner's thought. Sacramento was quite the scene.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
It really was. It was a beautiful day.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Everybody was enjoying having the A's there again at a
minor league ballpark. Can I tell you the hospitality, Danny
g was next level courteous, beautiful in fact, just a
bunch of old people welcoming you into the stadium and
the ballpark vibe of it all. You're like, this is

(09:03):
a nice scene. It felt scene you would have never
known of. Felt like spring training.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
It did. And there was a bunch of like really
old grandpa's helly.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Welcome to the stadium, young fella, Hey, hey, where are
you sitting?

Speaker 4 (09:16):
Is you know what com with me? Read this way?

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Hey, we have free cookies, thanks for being here, Like,
they really appreciated your being there at the ballpark, and
they were really happy to welcome the A's and the Mets.
I'll tell you what, go do the bug I was
hearing rumors guys, look we're baseball fans now. I'll tell
you man, one time I showed the babe like, man,

(09:40):
how old are you, Ebenezer. So there's a rumor that
the A's aren't necessarily sold on Las Vegas, that Sacramento
is very welcoming of this.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
Hanking vip. They heard from the Green Vine.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
George and Sam and all these old guys. Here's a
good chance you may stay. You knew. I'm like, yeah,
because you guys seem real happy to have the A's.
But in other words, long story short here is that
it was quite the scene. If you have any thoughts
on that, Rich, yeah, just please let me know. My
thought is this, there's twenty nine other baseball teams. If
you're a fan of one of them and you're looking
for a fun little adventure a couple of days away,

(10:22):
go see your team play.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
In Sacramento against the Athletics.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Oh, you're not going to get up and closer. You
will not be disappointed. You will not be disappointed at all.
It is the most accessible small feel you know. Just
go to our instagram At Covin and Rich, we were
sitting right behind home played. I felt like, uh, Francisco
Lindor and Peter Lonzo where I feel like we're chit
chatting with them while they're on the on deck circle

(10:49):
in between innings before the game. Everything about it seemed
like it had that spring training vibe where woll the
players are just like.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Right there, Well, it's home of the river Cats. What
is it?

Speaker 3 (11:02):
It was the stadium, Sutter Health Park, something like that, right,
Sutter Health Park, beautiful ballpark. But rich nail that it's
it's a minor league stadium. A lot of big stars
came through there. But I gotta say, if you have,
if you're one of those people that say, you know,
maybe once a year or so, I like to travel
to go see my team, like Danny, if the Dodgers

(11:24):
go up there at any point this year, if it
falls on like a weekend, if something that makes sense,
I promise you you would not be disappointed even if
you took the road trip up there.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
It is the access is unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
And again we might be staying in the obvious to
a lot of people. It is a big show nationwide.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
How many people have been to Sacramento so far?

Speaker 3 (11:42):
No, I get it, but there's a lot of people
that go to minor league ball games and ballparks all
the time. This is a Triple A affiliate. The river
Cats so that might be your scene. Anyway.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
It's such an intimate setting that it's almost like it's
almost like it's easy to get on TV.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Danny, And that's where I'm going, And Danny, the most
intimate I'd ever been.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Whoa at a ballpark? Whoa? Whoa?

Speaker 5 (12:07):
This is for the podcast, not National Area.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
Probably at Camden Yards because you really have that ballpark
feel and it really feels like a like a different
type of atmosphere when you're there in Baltimore. But man,
this was a great time. It was a beautiful day.
Rich was right there talking to Juan Soto. We were
three rows behind home plate.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Yo one. Yeah, you know he can vision.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
And let me tell you a quick story about Covino
and Rich. Now, we've been doing radio for a long
time and part of our radio experience we were we
were part of Maxim Radio for a long time. Maxim magazine,
which encompass sports and relationships and lifestyle and all that stuff.
You guys remember magazines, right, I was gonna say, what's that?

(12:54):
So Maxim Radio, which was on serious and serious ExM.
Remember when people would have Maxim magazines in like their
dorm room. Yeah, you have to pile on your coffee table.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Of course, who forgot young kids?

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Young dudes now have no clue of the culture of
having like a sports illustrated, a maximum, a stuff magazine,
like all the that magazine culture of like the nineties
and two thousands.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Is so far.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
I mean, Vita Guera in FHM sort of changed my life.
I mean, at least a decade of it. Magazine culture
is gone. Remember you go to the doctor's office and
you have like Highlights magazine. I mean I still read
Highlights magazine. I'm a master of the hidden pictures. But anyway,
I'm trying to make a point. But then you miss
TV gud No, my goodness, is the caffeine setting ain't

(13:42):
already on you? By the way, that's for Davis. I'm
Cavino again. Good morning.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
Now.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
When we were on Maxim Radio, we were just on
the radio. This is before like social media and video
was a part of it. Maybe YouTube videos, that's about it,
but not even really, but not even really. But we
would talk about, hey, we're going to the All Star Game,
and hey we're going to this baseball event. Hey we're

(14:07):
doing this. So for years our mission was to get
on tv A because it was our way of getting
on TV on ESPN, but mostly just something for our
listeners to have fun with, just like a goofy experience.
Hey we're gonna be at the Home Run Derby, look
out for us. We're gonna try to get on TV.

(14:28):
And we got on TV five six years in a
row courtesy of All Star Weekend or Home Run Derby
and that sort of thing. And what we would do
to get noticed is the Bushwhacker. Now, what is the bushwhacker?

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Right?

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Hey, Luke and Butch the wrestlers, right, the Bushwhackers. Remember,
they would come down the aisle rich to your best Finkle.

Speaker 7 (14:52):
Coming down the oil the bush Whacker, right, So Baffoon's
from New Zealand that were very very special.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
So to include our listeners in on the fund, like,
hey we're gonna be at the ULSCO game, look out
for us, we would do the Bushwhacker dance in the stands,
so anytime a home run was hit in that area,
you would see us. We made it onto TV five
six years in a row at the All Star Game
and Home Run Derby and everything else years doing the bushwhacker.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Now, if you don't believe us, when you're doing the.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Bull scroll later on, or when you have a break
later on, just search Covino and Rich Bushwhackers on YouTube
Covino and Rich CoV I know, year after year he'll
run derby see all these random videos of us having
the time of our life.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Because it's so dumb, because like, we're on TV.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Now, here's the foot on there, We're on the big
screen at the stadium, which is the greatest thrill ever.
Here's here's the funniest part. Fast forward. We end up
having a TV show on SNY. Then we were on
ESPN for years, and I still had more of a thrill, yes,
trying to get on TV in the crowd than actually
when we hosted our own Child. Yeah, our goal to
our listeners and our friends was like, we're going to

(16:08):
try to get on TV anyway. How it's a different challenge.
Like if I told you, Hey, you're gonna be on
TV tonight, that's a given, makes it fun. But if
I told you you go to a game tonight, try
to get on TV and then all your friends are like,
oh I see him, I see them, it's more of
a challes fun. So, yeah, like Rich said, we had
a TV show every night, not even close to this
thrill because it's uh, you know, just a fun sort

(16:30):
of electric moment. So I am proud to say that
when we were in Sacramento yesterday at Rivercat's Triple A
affiliate at the stadium where the Giants play and now
the A's are playing, it was such a small atmosphere,
such a small little scene in ballpark, and Rich and
I were so close behind home play. We're like, we

(16:53):
got to try to get on TV, and we came.
We saw we conquered and his three heard.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Of the bushwhackers.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Everybody, dude, we haven't done the bushwhackers on TV at
a ballgame in like ten plus.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
Years, so it looked retro.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Daddy.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I called my wife, and my wife goes, it's the
bottom of the third. Who are those bozos behind home plate?
My wife said they my kids were watching us. I said, yeah, daddy,
Daddy's gonna be sitting right behind home plate. So if
you put on the Mets game, you might see me
and Steve. And my wife's like, I know what I
think's blocking you. We were sitting behind.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
The graphic graphic, the score board graphics.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
So towards the end of the game, I was like,
we gotta move, We gotta move seats just to do this.
So we posted it at Covine on Wretch.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
We were the guys doing the.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Whoa yeah, So we didn't sneak down those were our seats.
We just moved more to the left just to get
on TV because we weren't really in the shot. And
we did it and it made our friends laugh, and
like Rich said, that made more impact in our lives
than having an actual TV show. And we say that

(18:06):
respectfully and honestly. Yeah, it was so funny.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
It's so funny. It's the dumb challenge of it.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
If I told you, hey, you're gonna you know you're
gonna do this, that's a that's a given. If I
said here's a challenge, you know, here's a challenge. You
could see this on our social media. You guys had
way more viewers at the baseball game too. Oh yeah,
I bet yeah, more people were tuning in to see
that yesterday. So again at Covino and Rich to play
along at home. But you could also see our our
montage of our time in secondmento and again mission accomplished.

(18:37):
Can I give you made it onto TV? Another example
of when getting on TV by design, not by design.
Getting on TV as a challenge is always more thrilling
or getting in on the background of a newscast like
or a local report, like if you could try to
get in there like your beaves and butt head, that's

(18:58):
so much more fun than Oh, you actually are on
TV because you're like hosting something.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
I'll give you another example.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
My mom and sister were out here visiting me in
Los Angeles and I took my mother and sister to
a taping of The Prices Right, And I said, Huh,
I don't care if I get called down to Contestants Row.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
In fact, I probably won't.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
The people that get called down there have like I
Love Drew Carey shirts and like they have like crazy
stories like I can't hear from Aowa you love Drew Carrey.
So I'm like, you know what I'm gonna do If
anyone around me gets picked to go to Contestants ROW,
I'm gonna run to them and start hugging and jumping
on them like I know them, and.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
You better believe I did.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Some guy in your There was a guy behind me,
some big he was a big sas he gay dude,
and he gets called.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
And he's like yeah, he starts flipping out.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
I go, hold on, I tell I step away from
my mother and sister.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
I run like two rows away, like he's your boy.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
I start hugging and jumping with this guy as if
he's my best points in it, And then of course
I'm like, hey, guys, guess who's on the process right.
So the point is, I think those moments are more
fun than designed them. So honestly, no, it sounds lame, guys.
I'm smiling ear to ear thinking about it, because for
years that was our mission and at that time too,

(20:23):
we thought we belonged on ESPN. That was our way
of getting on. We wanted to make our listeners laugh.
It was a challenge, it was fun. So for years
that was our thing. We brought it back yesterday. I
think that's find ourself of how fun it was. It
really was. How many how many times will your friend
be like, you know tonight, turn on the news like
I was the idiot they interviewed outside the outside the

(20:43):
basketball arena. Those like little news clips for me just
have such a stupid impact because it's always like an
inside joke with you and your buds. Now, while we
were at the game, taking it all in again thanks
to the hospitality and our buddy himI that got us
the tickets. But again it's the Triple A affiliate of
the Giants, the Sutter Health Ballpark A. He's got a

(21:07):
nice thing going on there. Even though they stink to
the high heavens, the Mets eventually blew them out and
had their way. While we were there, we had to
take a break because so hot, and we had a
people watch and get some food. And we were inside
just watching TV watching the Masters, and we saw man

(21:30):
Roy McElroy. Congrats, that's awesome. Yeah, hey, is that his
first one? It is, right, Yeah, that's his first one.
And he's there, super emotional, taking it all in. Great
weekend of sports, and I'm looking at my phone. I'm
seeing everyone freaking out about his win and people commenting.
You go automatically anytime there's an earthquake or a major
event or something weird happens or Chris Rockets slapped, you

(21:51):
go to social media.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
You go to Twitter.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
And I saw something Page Sporanic said about the Masters event,
and you know, she's a golfing winsard that's been on
this show before, and I want to share it with you,
and it involves your cell phone and the big mistake
we're all making. I agree with her tweet. Covino's got it.

(22:15):
We'll go over it next. Plus, of course we'll talk
a lot of NBA. The NBA wrapped up yesterday, So
all that and more in for our pal, the Great
Dan Patrick, Covino and Rich right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 4 (22:55):
Going on in the world.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
We have a lot of fun talking about the stories
behind the stories in the world of sports and pop culture,
stories that well other shows don't seem to have the
time to discuss. And the fact that we've been friends
for the last twenty years and still work together. I
mean that says something right, So check us out. We

chop it up, as they say, I'd say, the most
interactive show on Fox Sports Radio, maybe the most interactive

(23:18):
show on planetar. Be sure to check out Covino and
Rich Live on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app
from five to seven pm Eastern two to four Pacific,
And if you miss any of the live show, just
search Covin on Rich wherever you get your podcast, and
of course on social media.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
That's Covino and rich.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
Man.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Rich was telling me a riveting story about Minecraft toys
at McDonald's.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
I don't have to wait until the next comrecial.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Man, you can only listen to what goes on behind
the scenes here on the show.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
What if?

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Those what if?

Speaker 3 (23:47):
I save the good stuff for off the air by
the stake, Sometimes I think they are but Rich is
a really random guy.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
That's Rich. I'm Covino.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
I actually just reposted our time in Sacramento at the
A's game as Mets yesterday. Had a great week, but
I hope you had a Rory McElroy master's sort of weekend.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
Who's the Master?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Even though my favorite Master of the Universe is man
E Faces. Rich was more of a man at arms
guy because he likes a mustache. So anyway, I perhaps
Shiro was my first crush. I don't know man Evil
Lynn was where it was at. But I reposted our
video of us doing the bushwhackers. You know, perhaps you
recognize us from our TV appearance yesterday.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
From the game love that so much.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
And by the way, not everybody remembers the bushwhackers though, Dude,
I'm so surprised because people are like, oh yeah, I
got a lot of feedback like what does that mean?

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Bushwhackers? Like the wrestlers, what do you mean? What do
I mean?

Speaker 5 (24:40):
Not?

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Everyone's a kid of the eighties and nineties. So we
have lots to get to prizes to give away on
the show. We're gonna play last one Standing.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
What is that?

Speaker 3 (24:48):
You'll find out, but it's your chance to win our
coveted Swiggy, which is our stainless steel water bottle, our
way of bribing you to check out our regular show
Monday through Friday, five to seven on the East again,
Covino and Rich and two Things Rich.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
Before we dive into the meat of the show, well.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Before you dive into you know what, recap that because
we're seconds away. It's happening right now. Katy Perry is
launching into outer space. Okay, and that's not a new
hit single, it's not hold on, it's happening as we speak.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
I feel like you're making this up.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
It looks like it. What is going on?

Speaker 3 (25:25):
What's more random the fact that we're on Dan Patrick's
show right now, that there's a rocket taking off an
all female flight, all female crew with Katy Perry, or
that insert sexist joke here, or the cheesiest Godzilla movie
is airing as we speak.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
A problem?

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Is it Godzilla versus is that GIDRAA?

Speaker 4 (25:47):
All I know is that? Is it Blue Origin?

Speaker 8 (25:49):
Should they have changed the shape of the rocket for
the all female crew.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Perhaps?

Speaker 5 (25:55):
Look there's a dire wolf on the screen above that one.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Yeah, this goes on random Monday, ever, so we'll keep
you posted on this flight. But I want to remind
you that this is day one of the Dan Patrick Hatrick,
which means you get three days of us here this week,
and I think we're gonna be here on Tuesday next
Tuesday as well, in for Dan Patrick, and we have
a big event coming up June twentieth to twenty first

(26:20):
and twenty second, and this is your official invite, So
we invite the entire Fox Sports Radio nation, all the
dan nets. Everybody's involved. Everybody's invited. Don't expect an evite.
We're gonna have a party. I sent it raction June
twentieth through the twenty second in Vegas. You know how
you get people to go invite Marvin and tell him

(26:40):
you'll pay for his trip. Yeah, yeah, yeah, But everybody's involved,
and you see some of your favorite people from Fox
Sports Radio and just a lot of our friends and
listeners through the years. June twentieth through to twenty second.
Details to come, so follow us at Covino and Rich
for now. Just book your flight. We will be there
and we're expecting a lot of people. The most interactive
show on radio going to be celebrating.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
Now.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
If you can only make it one day, come on
the middle night the twenty first, that'll be our party night.
But again, details coming soon at Covino and Rich. I
also remind everybody to check our bonus podcast over promised.
It's on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page so you could
watch our show. It's the stuff we can't fit into
our regular two hour show, so over promised with Covino

(27:24):
and Rich, how.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Do we talk to check?

Speaker 3 (27:25):
How are you talking without concentrating fully on Blue Origins
space craft? Oh?

Speaker 4 (27:31):
Look, I just penetrated the atmosphere. Do you want to explain?

Speaker 5 (27:33):
Hey, it's like the all female Ghostbusters movie.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Yeah, meaning like I'm not as interested. Stop it.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
That's sexist, But I'm not trying to be. I'm just
being real about it. You got to fill me in
now again. I'm Covino, That is Rich. Rich Davis is
also the voice of Pop two K on series section
what do you have to do the spaceship? Because I
want to know what's going on here? Tell me about it.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Yeah, I've interviewed Katie period.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Yeah, because I've interviewed Katie. Are you a budget? Makes
me an expert on the Blue Origin?

Speaker 4 (28:02):
You're the pop princess?

Speaker 3 (28:03):
You mean to you don't know anything, princess, I know
as much as you should know.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
You're the one who's intrigued by it. Why is Oprah crying?
Why is Opra there? What happened? I don't know? Can
you focus?

Speaker 5 (28:17):
Because Gail King is also said Cavito.

Speaker 8 (28:19):
When I we were watching Godzilla. I was like, Oh,
is that Mathra And he was like, no, that's He's
a Cadora. So apparently he knows just as much about
the bottom screen as Rich does the top screw ro.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Dan was that flying cre Dan's your terrible starting pitture
on the Yankee scene.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Rible wait.

Speaker 8 (28:36):
Dragon, Well, anyway, you guys know you're on like a
lot of radio stations right now.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Can you rein it in? I don't know if Rich
reined in.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
If he uh was snorting the coffee beans this morning,
I don't know what he ordered. Well, observations from the
weekend we said it. We went to Sacramento. Just a
great scene reminder one, if your team is playing in
Sacramento against the Athletics and you have an opportunity to go,

(29:03):
I like not recommend it, I highly recommend it. It was
an experience that I can't describe other than it had
the intimacy of spring training and a feel.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Of a big league game that mattered.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
And I've never been to something like that because it
either feels like a game with high stakes or casual
spring training. It was a hybrid of that because it
was a game of significance. Regular season game. We've never
had seats deck great either. We weren't that up close
ever in our lives, and we've gone to plenty of games,
so we were really really into the game, you know,

(29:35):
so that that was a change as well, and we
made it onto TV. You could see it at Covino
and Rich So while we were there, Like we said,
Rory McElroy won the Masters. Now when it comes to golf, well,
I'm not at that point in my life yet. How
far into outer space are they going? Okay, is this
one of those like they see I thought you wouldn't know.

Speaker 8 (29:55):
I'm pretty sure it's the upper atmosphere. They're not like
in outer space.

Speaker 6 (29:59):
You're right, you do experience weightlessness, but it lasts for
only eleven minutes.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
Skim you skim the atmosphere. We have slow motion video
of Katy Perry and then they come back down, you.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Know when like when women launched out into the slingshot
and we see the videos on social media. She has
a bussuit on. Dude, but that would have been nice.
Speaking of beautiful women.

Speaker 8 (30:22):
Speaking of this is our new segment girls Floating It
out of Space.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
Page Sporanic was on our show. We caught up with
her at the Super Bowl. She was a delight. She's
a golf influencer, former golf pro turned influencer on one
of those flights, and now she's turning heads everywhere.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
I'm getting schelling. You don't care about out of Space,
I don't. I mean, this is a big deal. What
is such a big deal about this? Then tell me
about it. That's why I asked you hold on.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
I paused everything, dude, and I said, hey, pop princess,
tell me what's going on. Well, that was, first of
all rude. Secondly, has the rude pop music? It's not
that talks about Katy Perry every day. By the way,
you don't know anything about it.

Speaker 4 (31:03):
Oprah's there because Gail King's there. Yeah, and he said that, yeah,
Gail Kay, he said that.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
I missed that.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
I got four words for that. Bezos doesn't listen to
Bezos's fiance. She's on it.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Yep, that's risky when you're a billionaire. I guess you
need thrills because like, why would you go on.

Speaker 8 (31:20):
That film producer carry Anne Flynn, a NASA rocket scientist
Ayisha bo and civil rights activist Amanda new And there's.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
No way they could just get stuck up there like
those from previous astronauts, right, I just look. I hope
they're safe. I hope they have the time of their life.
I would never take that risk. So let me ask
you this before we get into the NBA and Paige
Sporadic and the Masters all the stuff which I was.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
Going to say, because this was supposed to be about
Rory right here.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Yeah, yeah, I do have one question though, that's way
more important.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
I think they're coming back already.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Yeah, no, yes, that's like when you wait two hours
for the Star Wars right at Disney and then you're
all right, it's over.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
That's so Intactlymactic is already coming back. Can they go again?
That's stupid to the fast pass. Mister Toad's wild ride
is longer than that.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
I my question is if you had the ability to
do this and you were balling no thanks, I can
tell you straight up if the Coveno and Rich show
based on the first forty minutes of today's show is
never going to happen, but.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
We make it fun.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
If we ever make it to a higher level and
they say, hey, Covino and Rich, here's my two no's,
I'll state them right now, you want to go out
of space?

Speaker 4 (32:30):
I'm like, no, thanks, I'll pass on that. Sign me up.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
Hey, Kvin Oris, you want to be on Dancing with
the Stars. Never, no thanks, no way, no, how hold on?

Speaker 4 (32:38):
Not interested? I was Sam? Would you hello?

Speaker 3 (32:42):
Would you if they said I was Sam, we're you know,
we're you know, like sometimes they'll ask for random people
like we want radio producer.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
I was Sam. You want to be part of the
space mission? Would you do it? Yes?

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Absolutely right, no thanks, without questions.

Speaker 6 (32:58):
No, I'm claustrophobic. I would not want to be locked
in and strapped into.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Plus that G force you gotta deal with, right, I
think I could deal.

Speaker 6 (33:05):
With that, But just being trapped in that suit and
in the capsule, I couldn't do that.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
I couldn't even heal that. Of course he could deal
with It's sure, he's problem. Yeah, G Force, I'll pass.
It was a great cartoon when we were kids. It
is interesting because right here in the studio, two against two,
I would be the deciding vote.

Speaker 8 (33:23):
And oh wait, the rocket came back. Now the pods
falling back one, so the the booster fell. They're in there,
they're in there.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Yeah, everything's going okay though, Rather they're floating back to space.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
They're floating back.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
So if I told you that was like the Ticks
coming back, if that was like.

Speaker 4 (33:40):
A ten minute thrill, they go to outer space, look
at now the parents. You don't have to train for
that or anything. I don't have to be in better
shape than I am currently.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Do you think if this was if this ended up
being where it was like five to ten grand and
not like a celebrity thing, do you think people would
like thrill seekerts? But yeah, it's like bungee jumping on
steroids of course. Yeah, what's the price point? Do you
think at some point in our life it'll be want
to go to outer space?

Speaker 4 (34:04):
Ten grand? Like? Do you think that'll be a thing?

Speaker 5 (34:06):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Yeah, absolutely? Well anyway, I'm sorry I even brought it up,
but it's big news. You're gonna see it all today.
So let me ask you this though, If it was
such big news, how come I haven't heard about it
until right now?

Speaker 5 (34:17):
I've heard about it.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
I mean, Katie Perry, Gail King and a full flight
of women just took off into outer space while we
were live. So you'll see I'm sure the highlights later
on But I didn't know about this.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
I didn't. You're too worried about Aaron Judge. You got
Aaron Judge.

Speaker 8 (34:35):
I know we needed we need a video from inside
the I want to see.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
I'm surprised they didn't have some type of live stream,
but I guess maybe that was not possible.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Anyway, I digress.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
I apologize back to the Masters, Bro Pete Baran, I
did say something that I felt was.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
Super relevant and I couldn't agree with her more.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Well, I feel like there's some pushback from society and
younger people, and we're starting to see a trend. Maybe
Ron Washington is part of the trend page. Borannic says
hot take again. This is according to her social media

(35:16):
hot take. But I wish all sporting events banned phones.
It was so special to see everyone enjoying the moment
and being present in regards to the Masters and the
Masters win. You saw a lot of video highlights and
photo highlights of people just really in the moment. No phones,
no video, which is ridiculous. Anyway, you're gonna look back

(35:39):
at this nonsense. I guarantee you no one ever's greater
footage available on TV and on YouTube and everywhere else
than what you're going to capture on your phone? Can
I promise I could guarantee you something no one has
ever said to you? Hey, do you happen to have
Fourth of July fireworks.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
Twenty twenty one? Never? Can you? Can you look at that?

Speaker 2 (35:59):
For me?

Speaker 3 (35:59):
It's it's a hot take, but there seems to be
more of a trend going on. Hot take? Do you
wish all sporting events banned phones? Your thoughts on this,
how it could work in your life. We'll do all
that and more in for the Great Dan Patrick.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan
Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio WAPP.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
It's big news, bro, It's really not. I don't think
it is. Is it off the air? Rich is trying
to convince me that it's huge news that Katie Perry's
now out of space. I mean, congrats, I'm glad they
had a great time. You're back it ready, though, big news?

Speaker 5 (36:40):
Like is it? Really?

Speaker 4 (36:41):
It was kind of wild to see, but big news.
I didn't hear anybody talk about this.

Speaker 6 (36:45):
It would be bigger news if she put weight back
on because She's one of those. Was it Ozempic I'm
not sure, but she was.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
No.

Speaker 6 (36:52):
I'm saying like with weight on, she had nice curves
and was like a really attractive female. She couldn't even
gain more wait, I would have fed her more cheeseburgers.

Speaker 5 (37:02):
She's so skinny right now.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
And that's Danny G. Everyone Tammy. No, but that's the
opposite of what can't either.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
We are live from the Mercedes Benz Studios again Covino
and rich In for the great Dan Patrier is beautiful, Yes, absolutely,
that's his preference. You can't tell him what he likes
any so I felt.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
Likes Big Adele. He doesn't like just because Spot is
all skinny now yet.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
Twenty twenty five, we got Nanny G super producing on
the phones at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
We got Iowa sam in the studio today on the
ones and two Samuel, He's with us five to seven
on the East on our regular Monday to Friday show
and again play along home at Covino and rich I'm
Steve Cavino. That's rich Davis, our buddy Mark's hanging out.

(37:50):
Thank you guys for hanging out with us. Now we
are giving away prizes, so stick around. We're gonna play
some games today. We got to talk about Lebron and
other things that were in the news this weekend.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
But the Masters. Everybody's talking about.

Speaker 5 (38:03):
It, you know.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
On a personal note, Yeah, I see myself golfing in
the future, just not right now. I see you mini golfing.
I mean I am pretty good. You know, mini golfing's
wore my speed. To be honest, you ever let your
daughter or girlfriend beat you at mini golfs Ever, no
Bill's character. You know, you gotta play your heart out

(38:25):
every time. So Paige Sperannick, who's been on the show,
made a post.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
She's a delight.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
She is a delight. She was great hot take. But
I wish all sporting events banned phones. It was so
special to see everyone enjoying the moment and being present.
And I have to say I had a similar experience
over the weekend before we went to Sacramento to watch
the Mets in the A's. We had a great weekend again,
you could see it at Covino and Rich We did
the Bushwhackers on Friday night. It was my buddy Jose's party. Now,

(38:56):
if you listen to Series six. Sam Jose Mangen is
the heavy Metal Ambassador of Series six. M So at
his birthday party is out on his business card.

Speaker 4 (39:07):
Ambassador.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
No seriously, yeah yeah, like you know where you're says
radio tycoon.

Speaker 4 (39:11):
He says heavy metal ambassador.

Speaker 3 (39:13):
No, what did you call me before the pop Princess? Yes,
I knew Katie Perry was in out of space.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Anyway, go back to so.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
Jose, who's a rock host. You know, we're radio friends
throughout the years. It was his birthday party, but he
had the band machine Head playing at his birthday party. Now,
I'm not the biggest machine Head fan, but they've been
around forever. That's way cooler that when you had a
magician at your birth way better than Captain Crossbones. So hey,

(39:40):
pick a card, kids, Yeah, way better than when Magic
Mark was there. And I'm at the event for my
buddy's birthday. This is Friday night and Los Angeles actually
in Seal Beach. And when I got to the event,
they're like, all right, give us your phones, Like, give you,

(40:02):
give you my phone. There's a lot of a lot
of stuff that I don't want anyone to know about
it on this phone.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
I'm not gonna hand it over my phone? Are you stranger?

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Can't do it?

Speaker 4 (40:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (40:11):
And you know they put them in these little packets.
I'm sure you guys have been to an event. If
not for any sort of major event or where it's
private or whatever, they don't want you to have phones.
They take your phones.

Speaker 4 (40:23):
Movie screenings do that a lot. Yeah, movie screenings.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
They did it on the White Lotus this season, season three,
so that people can enjoy their time on vacation. They
put them in protective packets, little cases. They're like, we'll
give them to you later. I'm like, all right, cool.
Can I tell you Rich? It was like a throwback
of awesome cause you're in the moment.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
You know what. I enjoyed machine Head, you know what.
I enjoyed their performance.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
They all enjoy talking to people and having conversations and
fun and friends and like, wow, this is what we
used to do, right, like talk and interact. And that's
kind of what you saw at the Masters this weekend
when p people were really in the moment watching McElroy win.
You're forced to be the old social, not reliant on

(41:09):
your phone version of yourself. So what do you think
about the at all sporting events. I think it's fantastic.
I think that's a good start.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
I really do.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
It's it's impossible to really make happen, but man, it
would be awesome if they could.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
It's impossible.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
You're not gonna be able to check fifty thousand phones
at a football stadium.

Speaker 4 (41:30):
You not can be able to check. You can check yourself,
or you could wreck yourself because.

Speaker 5 (41:35):
What if you have a babysitter at home with your toddler.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
Though I know there's always acude, you don't.

Speaker 5 (41:39):
Need your phones for emergencies.

Speaker 3 (41:41):
Danny g I'm glad you brought that up, because that
really is the only thing that irks me. We're all,
you know dads. Most of us here are are dads
where we have little kids. In an emergency, you never
know you want that. But again, what did our dads do?
They survived.

Speaker 4 (41:56):
We didn't know where to how they were.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
Guess when the well they left for pack some cigarette.
Let's just say, guess what dinner happened. Dinner happened when
Dad got home, and you had no clue when Dad
was coming home. When Dad got home from the Nudie bar,
heah knows where Dad was. We didn't know, so your thoughts.
Let's get the phones going eight seven, seven, nine nine
on Fox covinon rich and for Dan Patrick. Should we
not have phones at sporting events? Are you down with

(42:20):
this or not? We'll take your feedback next right here,
