Congrats on the bare minimum for a two seed you
should feel good about.

Oh wow, that's the way you. You congratulate me like that. Yes,
you're a two seed. Every one, every two is still alive.
The bare minimum for a one or two seed in
the Big Dance is to get to the second weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Would you not agree?
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Of course? Of Cokay, absolutely.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Now I would rather talk about you and your amazing
DFL start in the overall bracket Challenge.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
But congrats to your Wildcats.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
At halftime of game one, I'm sure you were getting
another pie out of the fridge or something.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Because I was very nervous. We were only up by
six points against Long Beach State, and I'm like, this
is not going to happen again? Is I'm like, no,
it was just bothering the hell out of me. And
then I just don't I don't like the way we
played it all so far in this tournament. To be
honest with you.

(01:29):
Disaga as you heard is on updates. We got a
whole crew behind the scenes chopping up audio, post game sound.
We got two games that are currently in progress, and
then we'll put a rap on the first four days
of the NCAA tournament. So wet's just to go ahead
and get the lead out here. Congrats to your cats.
You've got Bay were getting knocked out today.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yeah, that's what that helps us. We'll get by Clemson.
There are a bunch of nothings.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Well, I mean they did win their first two games,
you know, and pick to lose.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
You know, I Thinky's overrated anyway.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Well he's not the basketball coach debtly understand no, get
out it.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
He did stop it? You know sure about that? Can
we fact check that? Please?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Arnie? Could you tell me who the Clemson basket?
Speaker 3 (02:13):
I looked him up. I looked him up before the
zoone today. I get it's so funny because I knew
you were gonna ask me that. I knew you were
gonna I know his this was our BB, but I
can't remember his namey, Yeah, it's Brad Brownell. He's been
there for a while. I know you're gonna as I'm like,
I'm gonna say it's Davosweeney and just go with that.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
For god, you realize he's been at Clemson since twenty ten.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Wow, And uh, I think I was looking back through
this is only let's see one. This is only the
third time that they've advanced, I mean even into the
second round of the NCAA tournament. They've only made one
Sweet sixteen during his run, and that came back in
twenty eighteen. So, hey, Arnie, it's not always about the
best team or playing the best and say the best team.
(02:54):
It's not always about playing the best. It's about matchups
and it's about getting hot at the right time.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
And I agree with you. Your cats didn't look all
that great now.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
I didn't get to watch a lot of the Dayton game.
I was kind of having to follow it a little
bit while working on other things. But hey, survive in advance.
That's all that matters on the scorecard.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
We're seven to that point favorite over Clemson, so I
think that's about right. I look, they're a good team.
That Joe Girardi. Girard just scares the hell out of me.
That guy. He's just such a great player, such a
great shooter and a great free throw shooter. I hit
a team that's a great foul shooting team that I
(03:34):
have to play them, especially when it gets to the
end of the game. But I feel good. I feel
confident that we'll go ahead take care of them.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
You worried me a little bit about Joe Girardi there
for a bit. I'm not gonna lie to you.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
I didn't watch much Clempson this year.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
I've come to realize that maybe I watched a lot
of acc basketball outside of North Carolina.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
And do I just know him well because his high
school was up in the New York up state area
and the guy was scored like forty forty five points
a game. But he went to Syracuse. I'm like, yeah,
that's a mistake.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Man.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
You know, you need to go where you can go
show off your talents and of course, Zerracuse was a
big mistake for amends up transfer to the clubs and
great player. When he's hot, he's hot, there's nobody better.
But when he's not, he's just on the side of
the rim. But it's gonna be It'll be an interesting game.
I feel confident seven that point favorites, And then I
wish I could go to the game. I was thinking
(04:23):
about coming out to LA and go to the game
to go see it.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Well, why can't you?
Speaker 3 (04:28):
I got a lot of stuff. I'm a pretty busy guy.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
You know, you gotta bye, You got to prepare for
your show.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Meal.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
We have two games in progress right now. We're watching
Houston show why they're a number one seed and why
anyone who thought that they were going to lose to
Texas A and M might be a little bit crazy.
Seventy nine sixty seven Houston with just under two minutes
left in the game. How about what he from Salam's
Siantego State Aztecs are doing right out a year.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
That's crazy. I didn't think he got twenty one. I
thought Yale could make a little bit of a run
at then maybe and it was going to be a
low scoring game, but San Diego State all over. Oh yeah,
but that's okay because the run's gonna end next week anyway,
when they play Yukon, Right, is that their next game.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
For San Diego State. Yes, it would be yes.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Right, So they're finished then, so you can just cross
them off the list then, so.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
We can't even talk about the game that's going on
right now.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Now you talk about they're collaborating. Yeah, congratulations to ephrom
I hope you enjoy it. But after that the next game,
you're out of it.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
You know, let's just go kind of piece by piece,
take by take here and really dive in. I do
want to apologize to the most art and supporter of
this show, our man, Shady Sean.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
For twenty he hates college.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Hates college football, college basketball, anything college related.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
So Sean, this is a rarity.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
We're apologizing to you, but we're really not sorry because
it's truly one of the greatest sport right It's.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
One of the greatest sporting events that's going on right now.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
I'm a little disappointed. I gave the whole thing like
a B minus so far. I mean, we had a
few buzzer beaters.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
On a poem let me then challenge you on that.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Yes, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
You talk about buzzer beaters being oh so important, right
the most?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
You know, I like to me they're important, you know,
just to my.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
From nineteen seventy seven to twenty twenty one, in March
Madness in the NCAA tournament, there had been only thirty
four buzzer beaters through the entire run of the tournament
seventy seven to twenty one. What is that like? Carry
on one? You know, we're looking at what basically fifty
or that's it.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
I'll push back at that when they say buzzer beater.
You know, if you make a shot with two seconds left,
that's not considered a buzzer beater. You know they can.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
I know what you're saying, but they took that any
consideration on.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
This, okay, because if you make something like two seconds
or what point five zagons left?
Speaker 4 (06:48):
To me, you know, that's what I love. Back and forth, Okay,
you love last year's final.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Four, Last year's final four, last.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Year's final four, Florida Atlantic, San Diego State, you caught
in Miami. It was okay, I remember, I mean there
were two There was a buzzer beater in it. Did
that make it any better for you?
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Well, that's what I enjoy that, but I prefer, you know,
the long shots winning too. We had a couple of that.
No you don't, I mean you don't. You're you're a
blue blood guy.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yeah, but I don't want the long shots.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah. The Kentucky game, I kind of enjoyed that. That
was kind of making me laugh.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
It was a good game.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
I think this has been a great tournament A B
minus so far. That's good in my book, seized to
a degree, right, And I'll tell you what not to listen.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
I'm just I knew you were going to come in
here and start complaining about buzzer beaters. People are already
doing it on Twitter at Steak and Genius. The Plank Show.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Colorado, Florida was a good buzzer beater. That was That's great.
That was a great finish.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
But yeah, I mean if there were six buzzer beaters
and twenty blowouts, would that mean that it was a
great tournament because it had six buzzer beaters. I don't
know if I've seen a better first day of the
tournament from start to finish. I thought Thursday was incredible Friday, Okay,
you know, and maybe not the best Friday, But Thursday
(08:07):
I just felt like I felt like everything was fun.
You had the Oakland Kentucky game late night, Samford Kansas
was wild to quine Knox off BUYU, North Carolina State.
Just listen. They dominated Texas Tech. But it was still
wild to think that that was their sixth game in
like nine days, and they've won seven games and they've
(08:29):
played them in eleven days. Arnie, the comeback by Dayton,
the eleven point first half by Colorado State, the crazy
finish in Washington State Drake where there was a blown
call late in that game. I mean, again, for your curriculum, right,
not a lot of buzzer beaters.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
But in general, I thought Thursday wasn't incredible about.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
And I actually agree Thursday was a good day. It
was enjoyable. Yeah, again, you had some close games.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
I thought Sanford was gonna go ahead and pull the
upset off should I was hoping for that.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
You know, by the way, that blone call, Kansas still
had a one point lead right at that time it
was ninety eighty nine, So no guarantee either one of
those teams were gonna win.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Just because of that blown call. Well that blown call.
Were you watching, you were in bed, wouldn't the blown
call happen? Yeah, Timberlake goes up to Duncan, gets it blocked.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Arnie.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
It fell right into the hands of a Sanford player
who was already going back up the court, and they
had numbers, So I would say, I agree with you,
but blowing the whistle at that point, I don't know
how he fixed it. I don't know if we need
a challenge system in college basketball. We review every little thing,
I mean every little thing except two massively blown calls
(09:45):
on Thursday cost teams game.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
We'll have to do the officiating also, because I think
the officiating overall has been at charge's. But beside the point,
I love the Oakland over Kentucky. I couldn't get enough
of that boy. They're just ripping coach cow tearing him apart.
Is he gonna be able to make it back? So
many conflicting reports on how much the buyo was gonna
be thirty four million, eighty one million, all the money
(10:10):
in the world, I mean it was. It was crazy
what it was going to take to goead and buy
him out of his contract. They're gonna do it. They're
not gonna do it. People cool our heads up to prevail.
I'm still not sure what they're gonna go and do
with him, Chris, it was what would you do? I
don't think I would take a little time think about it,
but I don't think I would fire him. To be honest,
I agree those track record the last five years have
(10:31):
been miserable.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Sure, but can I get nerdy? College basketball here?
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Really get nerdy? But if you would have said what
Bill self said, I would have fired him.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
I had already started looking ahead and next year.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yeah, a month aguy, I said, you know what, they
get the hell out of here.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
You're god dude.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
I love Bill Self, but that was a horrific thing
to say.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
That was horrible. Yeah, that was horrible.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
And then to not be upfront about some of your injuries.
You didn't really say that whenever they gave you what
a gimmel? Four seed? I mean, were you really saying
anything about it then? Anyway?
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Five seed?
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Excuse me, I digress, but just I feel like that
callan Kentucky are gonna be okay because you know what
next year is, It's the last year of the COVID
class so you don't get another year, you won't have
thirty year olds playing college basketball.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
It's just it's gonna be different.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
And so if I'm a Kentucky fan, even though I
think the popular thing now is to jump on all
y'all's podcasts and I guess everyone has to do a
YouTube show and yell and scream that Cals should be fired,
I'm telling you right now, patience would be a virtue
here because I think Arnie, they're gonna be okay, They're
gonna be fine in the long run.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
If I don't know if I could fight back too
much though, for the people that want him to get fired, sure,
look at his track record? Over was it with the
last five years. It's embarrassing, especially with the riches that
he's got down there and all Americans and the people
that are going to the pros, and it's it's just
down right a bit it's not acceptable. If I was
a Kentucky fan, I'm I'm pulling my hair out and
(12:03):
I'm bald for for cry.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Out last, but their last five years or you know,
better than yours at Arizona.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Oh, we made a coaching change because of that time.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
Well, let's let's go last three years, right, are still
better than yours?
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Well, we're in the sweet sixteen now we're going to
the championship, no doubt about that.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
See that's gosh, you'r.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
I thought you were setting yourself up to get beat
by Long Beach State last week.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
I really worry about you this week with court.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Cream rises to the crop, my friend, that rises to
the top.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Cream rises to the crop.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
I the top to the top.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
So then, in other words.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
You say B plus so far for the tournament, B minus.
So what's been the biggest disappointment? Who do you look at?
It's overall biggest disappointment.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
What I think is the biggest disappointment is probably what
the books in Las Vegas think is the biggest disappointment
is the straight up of the favorite straight up and
again running spread are just collaborating the sportsbook. We'll talk
to probably Todd Ferman about that later on. They are
getting beat like crazy, Chris, And you know, I guess
I like some of the moves in there, There's no
(13:15):
doubt about that. But what it was like, what was
it at one point fifteen and one or seventeen and
one straight up and against the spread with something absolutely crazy. So,
like I said, I like closer games. I like buzzer beaters.
I like games that are at least can be games
are within a bucket in the last five minutes. I
don't know if we had too many of those.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
Also, yeah, you think about if this trend continues with
San Diego State, They're a five seed, So that means
in the East region, your teams in the Sweet sixteen
are the one, two, three, and five. In the West region,
it's the one, two, four, and six. Right in the
let's see, what is this the Midwest, it's it's the one, five,
(13:57):
three and two. So your four is the only one out.
And really the only place where there's really just a
little bit of chaos is in the South South. But
you get Houston dou and Houston's up five with a
minute ago. I'm kind of giving them a win when
there's still a long way to go. But if this hold,
you've got one four eleven but a two two, And
(14:18):
I mean the biggest underdog still left is North Carolina State,
you know, barring Texas A and M coming back here
and beating Houston.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Which would be what a massive choke. There were some chokes.
There was some runs match teams. The VATA was one
of what was it? The was that the twenty four
to four run it to win the game, like the
last three minutes of it too. That was embarrassing. That's
a bad loss there.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
You know, we had a seventeen point lead with like
six minutes to go in the game and they lost.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
It also led to me getting fooled by Steve Ball
for deep fake. We'll talk about that a little bit
later on the program. Well, okay, then, if that's been
the biggest disappointment outside of your Arizona Wildcats, yes, that's
been the best thing, not even biggest surprise, but the
best thing about this tournament so far.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
What, in your opinion, has led to record ratings for
the first round.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Well, I mean people did gravitate towards the Oakland went over.
Kentucky jumped on that guy what's his name, the one
that you toall the three pointers, Golky or whatever it was. Yep. Now,
I mean he was just phenomenal. The guy was just
on fire. So you know, that was a lot of
fun to watch. I love the Kansas Sandford game, even
(15:30):
though Kansas came back and lost the next day and
one team that we haven't brought up, that it's probably
playing just as good as anybody out there, maybe not
as good as Yukon. I tell you, if I had
like ten thousand dollars to play a bet for long shots.
How about Gonzaga? Man, Look what the hell they're doing
for a team that wasn't supposed to be all that
(15:51):
great this year? They didn't even win their conference.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Did you happen to catch Just how poor those of
us who backed McNeese stayed or McNeese, How poor of
it decision that truly was, aren't you?
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (16:01):
I was one of them. I bailed at the last minute.
I did something I've never done before in my life,
and it worked. I went in and changed my bracket
on Thursday, right before tip off.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Get out of here, I did, And let me tell
you this is no never would have done that.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Yeah, here's my changes. I took Oakland over kent Kentucky.
You can go back and look right now, because I
had U here. I had Kentucky going to the final.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Four, So you must be winning the whole No.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
No, no, I'm I'm uh I'm doing I think I
like get sixth place or something. There's a bunch of
people on that list and I've never heard of before
in my life. But but and then I changed and
I went with Gonzagas. I think I had them all
the way to the Sweet sixteen, just just like a hunch.
Because did you happen to look at some of the
teams McNeese had beaten throughout the season, like you see
thirty wins, And there was a team that was like
(16:49):
the Mississippi College for Women.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Yes, yes, I think there was some stretch.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
I was like, I think I could have played for
them and they would have won by one hundred.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
I won on Grand Canyon. I picked him to win
their first game, but I went with North with Alabama.
So I had a couple of breaks and went my way.
Or I could be in Jeff Schwartz territory right now.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Which is the bottom of the whole thing. Yeah, right,
that would.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
Be bad, bad, bad, But I still feel going, I'm
g in the bottom third.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
But you can't but you can't win.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
You already can't make it enough because I was kind
of looking at it, and I think Jonas is leading
and you guys have a very similar bracket.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah, but I got Arizona thing though.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
That's not gonna happen, so I wow. But if they
do win, you know, hey, who's who's to say there's
not a chance for you. I've lost that whole bottom
part of that bracket.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Though used to only up by four. Now with the
fifty three seconds fifty two bore nine seconds left.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
Texas A and M. Well, first of all, Houston's done
a lot of stupid stuff here in the final few
minutes of this game. They fouled a three point shooter
which just led to three points for A and M
with zero time going off the clock, and they haven't
shot the ball all that well from the free throw line.
So who knows, Arnie when we come back in this
final minute, maybe we've got an epic choke job at
a wild collapse to talk about, or maybe we're moving
(18:07):
on another number one seed, great finish coming up. We'll
be following it live with you with Arnie and Plank

this game between Houston and Texas A and HM is
still going on because you've had eight reviews already.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
But why did that do take that shot?
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Arnie? Why that was a little early?
Speaker 4 (19:34):
There was still about seven seconds left that there was nine,
but that it was on target, though, wasn't it?
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Or what.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
He missed it?
Speaker 3 (19:42):
He did miss it, It was a little long.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
He took like a Caitlin Clark three when you still
had I wondered if they thought they would get fouled
right away.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
I wonder if that's what it was. But this game
is wild.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
It's eighty six, eighty three with one point two seconds left,
and I don't I don't know why, but Wade Taylor
the fourth just launched a three pointer when he had
plenty of time, and then he got a rebound, and
then he fired up some off balance, legs spread shot
that made no sense either. But I think I think
(20:18):
aam's got the ball here with one point two left?
Don't they still?
Speaker 3 (20:21):
I thought it was Houston.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
It's his possession here, is it? Yeah, it's aingem. They're
gonna inbound underneath their own basket. You think the same
dude fires off a three and you're down three one
point two left. Oh my goodness, is Houston really gonna
blow this? A andem gets it in shot at the
buzzer overtime? Are you kidding me? He drains the three
(20:47):
from the top of the key. We're going overtime, Texas
A and m rallies from out of nowhere, and we'll
play a fifth quarter.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
Well, I mean it's a third half of the crazy
to Chris, Not only do I have the game on,
I have the ESPN scores up, and they have to
score eighty six eighty five Texas A and M winning
the game.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Well, it's eighty six eighty I know that.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
I know that. I'll take a picture for you. So
because people always think I'm full of crap.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Let's make sure he's got it.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
He doesn't have his foot on the No, he's good,
he is good, got off, even took the fall to
try to sell it.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Man, how are we in overtime in this game?
Speaker 3 (21:29):
How do you let them shoot the three? Why are
you just not guarding the three and leaving everything alone?
Speaker 4 (21:35):
I don't know. And they took so much time to
get the ball in bounds too. There's your buzzer beater, Arnie.
There's that's not that's.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
Not a buzzer beater. They got to you gotta win
it now. It just goes into all the time.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Stop it. That is absolutely a buzzer beater.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
When you hit a three to fource it overtime.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Yeah, you're a buzzer beater.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Oh what a screw up that was. Somebody just missed it.
This simon, you'd even have a hand in his face.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Anderson Garcia with a game tying three, unbelievable. And let's
see what was the lead? Uh with three forty four
to go, With three forty four to go, Arnie, Houston
was up seventy four to sixty one with three forty
four to go in the game. I'm sure we can
(22:23):
get it if they had. They had a twelve point
lead with two minutes to go in the game. Wow, Uh, oh,
it goes deeper than that. They had a twelve point
lead with a minute fifty two to go in the game.
It was eighty one seventy one, and from that point forward,
with a minute fifty two left, Texas A and M
outscored Houston fifteen to five to force overtime.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Now, in this situation where you really don't if you
don't have a better or anything, are you rooting for
the team that made the three pointer going in the
overtime or you feel bad for Houston and you're pulling
for them. Who do you want to win?
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Well?
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Are what's been the big complaint whenever people talk about
the tournament so far.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Oh, it's only been a handful of upsets.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
We haven't had it right, right.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
We haven't had a one or a two get beat
and the first guy. It's been ages since this has happened,
when I think it happened like two years ago. But
I've kind of kind of what chaos, Arnie, kind of
what chaos.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
I always I like Kelvin Sampson, so I'm rooting for him,
and I always root against Texas A and M teams.
Oh you're you're, you're o's did well because yeah, because
I dated a girl from Texas A and M and
she dumped me. So I met at MASA, I met
her at Mazawan and moved in with her in Los
Angeles and then she dumped me.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
That's a long grudge to hold, Arnie. Yeah, they go
back to like the eighties. Yeah, she she went to
Texas A and M. So like, Okay, I'm gonna fix you.
I'm gonna root against you the rest of my life.
So well, we've got over time. While in the other
game at saw San Diego State, So let's get caught up.
It was a thirteen to three final run in the
final minute seventeen of regulation. Steve de Sager, one seat
(24:00):
is in trouble. What's going on?
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Man? What you gotta say now? The saga about my Wildcats?
Speaker 7 (24:07):
Yeah, did we all not pick them to win by third?
Speaker 2 (24:11):
I had I had long beach stage.
Speaker 7 (24:13):
I literally said on the air eighty five fifty five
Arizona in the first round last Sunday night on the show.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
I know you're picking again, so it's against Clemson. I
know you are.
Speaker 7 (24:23):
Good news for you, Arnie is they made that the
early game in La on thime.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
I know seven or nine Eastern I saw that.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Let's go, So it's not going to midnight.
Speaker 7 (24:32):
Old man can get to bed early this time, unlike
a couple of nights' all.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Happy with a win going to the Elite eight and
waiting to play either probably Alabama, so waiting are crying woa.
Speaker 7 (24:46):
The Arnie crying meme. Already here Houston has not won
this game, amazingly, They've just started overtime and tied against
A and M. Now Houston's up eighty nine to eighty
six in the opening thirty seconds or so of the OT.
This game in Memphis continues because of an m straightaway
three at the buzzer of regulation. You know, if Houston
can pull out this victory, all of the one and
(25:07):
two seeds this year will have advanced to the Sweet sixteen.
That had only happened once in the last fifteen years
to have all eight top two seeds advanced. So we're
still in corrected. Was it nineteen Oh wow? Okay, so
not that recent ago. So we're still not there. We're
on the edge four minutes left in overtime, Houston with
(25:29):
the ball up by three. The other game, San Diego
State from the start has dominated Yale. It was ten
to nothing, it was thirty nine sixteen Aztecs. Now early
second half, San Diego State leads fifty five thirty two.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
So I was rooting for Yale because I wanted to
eat from the suffer.
Speaker 7 (25:45):
Just imagine if it was Yale Connecticut. I mean Yale's
in Connecticut, Yeah, that would be good. Instead, Yukon will
be in nearby Boston for the East Region Semis against
San Diego State apparently Thursday, seven to thirty pm Eastern Time,
in a rematch of last year's final, which, let's be honest,
was not close. Alabama eliminated Grand Canyon seventy two to
sixty one. This game was sixty two to sixty one
(26:08):
with four minutes left.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Thank goodness, Great Canyon loss, and I picked them the win.
But that screeching lady behind the microphone was driving me crazy.
Speaker 7 (26:16):
And it was a loud crowd, but you could hear
one voice over others. Let's just say that.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
She was worse than the whistler at the Vanderbilt baseball games,
you know, talking about disagree that. You don't know if
you did, you hear the one today?
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Every game, every game I watched today, I haven't watched
with sound.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
I don't know how.
Speaker 7 (26:36):
So I was a screamer would have come through without
the sound up.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Oh okay, she's screeching, and everybody on Twitter was taking
Everybody was like, shut her up, get rid of that microphone.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
You know, I repeat.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
The Grand Canyon student section has been noticeably loud, going
back to being in Vegas last weekend in the conference tournament.
It's great to hear, great to see and stunning that
one voice above that could be heard.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
That's how loud it was.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
So.
Speaker 7 (27:03):
Grand Canyon ends the season thirty and five. Clemson upset
three seed Baylor tonight seventy two sixty four, Yes, Clemson
Arizona in LA in the Sweet sixties. One seed in
the Midwest, Purdue plays Gonzaga in the Sweet sixteen. Friday
Perdue all over Utah State one o six sixty seven
and Duke beat up James Madison ninety three fifty five.
(27:26):
The day started with two seed Marquette advancing over Colorado
in a close one eighty one to seventy seven. Marquette
shot sixty two percent from the floor in the NIT
at Utah Youts have beaten Iowa tonight ninety one eighty two.
Earlier NIT victories for Indiana State and Georgia. West Virginia
has a new head coach, Darien Devrees from Drake by
(27:47):
the Way. For the NCAA women's second round, South Carolina
State undefeated, beating up North Carolina eighty eight to forty one,
but two seed Ohio State loss to Duke. Baylor beat
Virginia Tech one tonight. Iowa plays tomorrow against West Virginia.
One late game in the NBA. Approaching mid third quarter
in LA, Lakers ahead of the Pacers eighty six to
(28:09):
seventy four. Spencer Dinwiddie with eighteen points for the Lakers.
His Guard'angelo Russell is out due to illness. Tonight, Minnesota
be Golden State one fourteen to one ten. The Warriors
are only a game up on Houston for the last
play in spot. William Byron took the NASCAR Race at Austin,
Texas and in Arlington, Texas. Tonight. US men's soccer defeated
(28:30):
Mexico two nothing in the Nation's League Final. I've said
it before on the air, guys, I'll say it again.
The worst behave fan base in North fans of the
Mexico soccer team yet again at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium tonight.
US scores a goal, celebrating and all sorts of bottles
being thrown on the field, the gay slur chant rearing
(28:53):
its ugly head again late in the game, causing him
actually to suspend the game for a little while. Nothing
US over Mexico, or as we proud Americans sometimes say
dosa sto because it has happened often in the last
couple of decades. Not only the US beating Mexico, but
by a final score of two zip. We're halfway through
(29:15):
overtime with one seed Houston leading Texas A and M.
They've just scored again, ninety three eighty seven Cougar spectacle.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
Let's go wow. But again this has become a rough show.
I mean, have you looked at the free throws in
this game?
Speaker 3 (29:31):
So far?
Speaker 2 (29:32):
It was good?
Speaker 3 (29:32):
So it was another one. I think the Grand Canyon game.
Speaker 7 (29:36):
Oregon had no free throws till the very endless.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
And how about the women's game that they took the
referee out of the game in half time.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
We're gonna get to that. Oh listen, Arnie, you send
me these roman numeral rundowns. Okay, I do you gotta
somehow go in order here? You just can't shoot around
from roman numeral v I to like IX. All right,
we gotta stay here, we gotta stay here. But no,
I do to get to that story, because that was
why how could they not have thought or at least
(30:04):
found anything before like halftime a bit?
Speaker 3 (30:08):
What did she say?
Speaker 7 (30:10):
Exactly exactly? It's happened yet again, because remember this week
with the show Hey Otani interpret it turns out the
Angel media guy has been wrong all these years. Apparently
nobody by that name ever attended you see Riverside and
and that's also apparently been a lie.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
So do you want to hit that here real quick?
While we watched this game, go in the final two minutes.
You want the show? Hey story?
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Yeah? Yeah, go absolutely. Well, he's going to speak tomorrow, right,
you know that he's going to be coming correct. Correct.
I'm not sure what he's going to say. And if
he's going to, well, I don't. I can't imagine he's
ever going to give us the truth. I wouldn't. I
wouldn't give you the truth if I was in that
for sure.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Well, I mean, what if the truth is that he
was deceived and that they stole money from what I
watched it?
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Unless you have a bec account with both people's daves,
it's very tough to go out. I had to have
money transferred and have that in bezzled. The only way
you could really embezzle money when they try to trick
you was like, hey, Chris, you know you're you have
a family member in jail. You need to send meet
ten thousand dollars and that's you going to the bank
(31:16):
and getting the money out or transferring it. It's very
tough for me to go even if I have your
numbers for me to go to the bank and transfer
money out of your account into my account or into
somebody else's account without your knowledge. It's very tough to
do something like that.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
What's your what would you guess your net worth is
around seven hundred million in there?
Speaker 3 (31:38):
No, not mine?
Speaker 4 (31:38):
Okay, So I imagine there's different banking rules for him
with seven hundred million dollars. Maybe there is more access
points with financial people. You had more people involved.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
I would think there was more red flags where if
somebody was going to take out that money, I would say, hey,
I especially sure if if that guy's not on the account,
I got to call mister Otani and you know, and
figure this out. I just can't transfer.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Do you think that they actually call show he Otani
or do you already that that that runs it, that's
an accountant or or something not.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
As interpreter that I will tell you for sure, an interpreter.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Did you listen to the Dodgers game where they had
the I had the analyst on and he had been
an interpreter before and and I don't I can't remember
his name. He's really good, but he said in some instances,
it's not wildly uncommon for there to be that kind
of access depending on how close you are to your interpreter.
So I'm not here to make excuses for show Hay Artie.
(32:35):
I have no idea, but it's what a wild story
to break.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Next you're gonna tell me he really didn't even speak
another language.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
He didn't even know what he was up everything that
he was saying.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Kind of like the interpreters for the hands. The signals
are for the you know.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
Here people that give sign language on sign language, Yes, yes, signlight.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
We had a couple of bogus people do and that
a couple of times too.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
But it sounds to me like you feel like show
Hey is somehow involved in this.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
I think I think he knows more than he's let
on right now.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
What does he have to tell you? Then?
Speaker 4 (33:12):
Like, what does he owe us? In other words, what
is Arnie spear? That's what I'm curious, Like, what do
you want to hear from him?
Speaker 3 (33:17):
I want the truth? Did you? Was you that plays
the beds?
Speaker 7 (33:20):
Well?
Speaker 4 (33:20):
What if it's not like you're like I want the truth,
You're like damned and determined.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
He was There's been a lie somewhere. The interpreter already
did an interview and said, I I go back on
that I lied about everything. I'm sorry, I go back.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
Well, have you not noticed that some of the evidence,
the facts, would point to this dude maybe being a
bit pathological? Right? Has he lied about his resume? Is
he lied about where he worked? I mean, I've been he.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Did an interview. I would never even have done the interview.
I can't believe they made him acceensible. I don't, I don't.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
I don't know if they did. I mean, who's gonna
stop him from doing anything? I don't know what happened.
As far as the bullet points from the last week,
it sounds as if something might have gone awry with
him trying to help his buddy or Arnie. He's just
a wild, degenerate gambler. We just don't know, and maybe
show Hey, he's trying to cover up problems that he
(34:13):
has to I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Do you think he gambled on baseball? Is other the
next thing we're trying to find out or what?
Speaker 2 (34:18):
I don't think so. I mean, but again, I don't.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
I barely know sho hey Otani as a baseball player, right,
I sure a sec don't know him as a person,
and I'm not gonna sit here and cast judgment whenever.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
To be honest with you, I don't.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
I feel like everything about this story has just been
people spitballing. It's like, oh, well, obviously this happened like
you're doing. Not that you're wrong, not that we're all wrong,
but it's just I don't really feel like there's hard
reporting that's been going on, because every time there is
is like, oh, wait, that's not what happened. Here's what happened,
and some would argue and say that's just them trying
(34:55):
to change the narrative, and that's fine, But I don't
feel like I've gotten true, hard facts on any of it.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Well, if they've been reporting on this, I guess this
has been going on since what October? Then what were
they reporting on back in October? What set them off?
Is it the same thing in October that we're just
finding out now, or has the story progressed since October?
Is there something that you found out in October and
now you're really ahead of the game and we don't know,
we haven't caught up to the rest of the facts.
(35:21):
You know, Well, who's they I don't know.
Speaker 4 (35:25):
I don't know who they is when you say investigating it,
It's like, Eh, who is Is it baseball? Is it
the FEDS? Is it something larger? Is it showhase people?
Because I don't know about you already. If I had
a network that was close to a billion, I'm pretty
sure i'd have a lot of different levels of people
that if that type of money was being taken away,
(35:47):
which I agree with, I'm gonna get that red flag.
I'm gonna get that alert on my phone as corny
as here because it seems off.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
What about the clip of him still talking to the
interpreter of the dugout out? Was that before he was fired?
Is that what that was? Because they were still yucking
it up. And I'm saying to myself, if.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
You still five million from me, we're not gonna be
yucking it up so much, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (36:11):
No, you would not.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
If you had seven hundred million, you'd be fine with it,
aren't you kidd me? He probably just would tell him
to go put it on San Diego.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
State to meet you. Ah No, But I get what
you're saying.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
I don't know, I don't know the timing of it,
and I here's here's just my final thought.
Speaker 3 (36:23):
On it.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
Whatever he says tomorrow, no one's gonna buy right.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
I mean, listen, there's not gonna be a single person
that when he speaks tomorrow is gonna come away and.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Say I believe him.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
Everyone's gonna still have their theory of something solacial going
on here?
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Is it gonna be a new translator? We gotta be
Are we gonna have to look this guy up too?
Before you can? We find out who he is.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
That's actually a really really good point.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
Are they going to just bring some guy and go
ahead the audience you use? I need to find out
who this new interpreter is.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
You know, when we come back to the Tirack dot
com studios. Your tweets have been fantastic. We'll hit him next.
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (37:03):

Speaker 3 (37:17):
It's over.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
The one seed survives in the South Houston one hundred
to ninety five. In a game they tried to blow
yes and again in a game that three of their
five starters fouled out four I thought no did the
fourth end up fouling out four? The double check out,
I saw Francis Sharp and Crier had fouled out.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Did Shed end up fouling out or not?
Speaker 3 (37:43):
So?
Speaker 4 (37:44):
Just let's say the three fouled out fifty of their
one hundred.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Points four to five off of four.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
So Shed fouled out too, Yeah he did so, then
that means thirty twenty fifty. That means seventy one of
their one hundred points were fouled out and they had
a walk on shooting free throws in Ryan Elvin to
try to ice the game late.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
How about that?
Speaker 2 (38:08):
That's how down they were in numbers wise?
Speaker 3 (38:10):
He love.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
It's been fun to watch this game. And just like
in basketball, successful game plan starts with the right players
the team attractor supply brings hustle and heart and that's
what really sets them apart. So lace up your sneakers,
make the winning play by heading to your local tractor
supply store today. If you're listening Arnie in the Norman,
Oklahoma area, might I suggest the tractor supply store in Percel, the.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Heart of Oklahoma. Absolutely, I'm sure you've shopped there a lot.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
Okay, does this raise a few more questions about Houston,
or does it kind of magnify their their toughness and
finding a way even when they tried to not find
a way.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
No, I think this is this is the one that
you use the saying survive in advance. That's exactly what
they did. I think you could forget about it. You know,
obviously the coach is going to be looking at it
and saying, we never should have given away this. It
never should have gone in the overtime. This is what
we did wrong. We're never gonna get in that situation again.
We're gonna guard the three or maybe we're gonna foul.
That's for the coach to work on. Players have to
(39:10):
forget about it, get a deep breath, you know, get
back to do a routine, get the practice, and think
who their next opponent's gonna be.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Yeah, and so that next opponent moving forward now for
Houston that it's gonna be a fun one. It'll be
Houston and Duke one of these four. Hey, Duke low
Key has looked really good.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
They looked very good. They looked very good. Though the
game against Vermont, Philipowski did not play well at all.
Man they bottled him up but they didn't shoot well,
so they weren't able to keep the game close.
Speaker 4 (39:44):
Biggest Okay, we talked about biggest disappointment. Obviously, Kentucky tops that. Yeah,
I'm sorry, dude, but Auburn's right there too. Auburn came
in as a four. Yeah, they won the SEC tournament.
They were in control of that game, Yes they were.
And you're telling me they're gonna get beat like that.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
And Yale's down by almost thirty points in Yeah, Diego State.
Speaker 4 (40:06):
It makes you feel a little bit better whenever the
team that upsets you goes in and into their next
game and either wins or plays tight.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Right, but when they got like this, yeah, like Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (40:16):
Listen, nothing's gonna make Kentucky feel better about losing to Oakland.
But Arnie, at least Oakland pushed North Carolina State to
the brink.
Speaker 3 (40:24):
I mean, at.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
Least they pushed the Wolf back down to the final second.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
So yeah, not sure coach Cow's taking any no taking
that as any medals or anything like that.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
You know.
Speaker 4 (40:33):
Seventy one to forty three is the score of that
San Diego State Eale game.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (40:39):
And then a final here in overtime ninety eight. Uh,
they have the Your people ESPN are just.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Terrible, aren't they horrible?
Speaker 4 (40:46):
One hundred to ninety five is the final score in
overtime for Houston over Texas.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
Say and m all right.
Speaker 4 (40:52):

Stade Women's game, Arnie, fourth quarter, minute thirty eight to
go Stanford down one is a two seed?
Speaker 3 (41:33):
No, I think I'll put that one on instead of
the Laker game.
Speaker 2 (41:37):
Yeah, I'm h it is. It's been in a word.
Oh big three from Stanford.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
They take the lead.
Speaker 4 (41:44):
Their best player, Kim Bring fouled out though, So it's
good one.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
Good that you're going to go to a women's game tomorrow.
I was thinking about which one I was going to
go to, the Yukon game at home. Had Arizona beaten Syracuse,
it would have been Arizona and Yukon.
Speaker 4 (41:59):
So I'm starting to notice a lot of Arnie's trips.
Are I was going to or I would have?
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Right, you just gotta go, man, just go.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
I am going April nineteenth down to Boston. Yeah, you
can see the media. Jim Gaffigan.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
Yeah, oh, you're gonna go see Jim Gaffigan.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
I like him. He's pretty funny. Yeah, yeah, he.
Speaker 4 (42:20):
Couldn't great pop hot pocket bit, great Disney snack bit.
But what about a sporting event? Like, can you leave
for a sporting event? Isn't your son playing somewhere?
Speaker 1 (42:32):
Is he?
Speaker 3 (42:32):
Isn't he Overton? No? No, he's not playing anywhere. And
I had I did have a friend and reach out
to me today from La saying let's get together during
football season. Hey, but I can't travel during football seat.
I'm too busy, you know, Okay.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Too busy?
Speaker 3 (42:48):
Right, I can't. I can't fly around back home when
I got NFL games going on.
Speaker 4 (42:54):
And we got this show. Completely understand exactly understand. All right,
I promise some of your tweets in reaction. Let's go,
h Marty, Marty McFly rights. Guys, help me out here.
My memory isn't the same as when I was younger.
Was it Grand Canyon University or the University of Arizona
that stinking genius was high on?
Speaker 2 (43:13):
It's complicated with two and C A powers.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
Ah, you know where I went to school. Come on, now,
don't don't don't mix them up.
Speaker 4 (43:22):
Uh, this is good from Triple one Quad one up?
Speaker 2 (43:28):
Who writes.
Speaker 4 (43:28):
Let's discuss how the tournament this year is lacking the
intense games where the buzzer beaters. Is the attorney going
the way of the NBA boring pickup game?
Speaker 3 (43:38):
Wow? You see that. I wouldn't go that far, but
he he kind of sees it the same way I do,
where I gave it a B minus. I Look, there
were some games. There's been some ugly games too. Did
you see that Great Canyon gave against Alabama? What the
heck was that going on out there? That was horrible basketball? Yeah,
it was.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
It was pretty ugly and it got even uglier down
the stretch because you thought Grand Canyon had a chance
and then they just wet the bed, you know, down there.
I can't think of any Yeah, crazy kind of like
what Texas A and M was doing, only Alabama wasn't
fouling them like Houston was foiling Texas AM to keep
giving them opportunities. Here's my biggest complaint, and it sounds tired,
(44:18):
and it's you know, tired or wired right, Well, this
is a tire take. But I don't know what the
NCAA has to do. They got to stop reviewing every
little thing. I mean every little thing. Arnie, you and
I were watching the end of this Houston A and
M game together, the crew and the tyrack dot com
studios they were watching it too.
Speaker 2 (44:37):
I mean at one point you're like, playball, let's go.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
What are we doing?
Speaker 4 (44:41):
You have the replay, you got two guys that look
at it for an incredibly long time just to put
point six seconds back on the clock or something. I
understand every second matters, but it's a little bit frustrating
whenever you see obvious blown calls missed Drake Washington State, Sanford,
Kansas games and then we're reviewing whether or not a
(45:04):
guy's toe was on the line in a five point
game with zero point eight seconds left.
Speaker 3 (45:08):
You know, it's just well, what do you start if
we're gonna start talking about how this is going to
be better? Chris, I gotta take a kind of shot
at you and your people. You know that, doesn't you?
Speaker 2 (45:18):
My people?
Speaker 3 (45:19):
Yeah? Your people and your people are those play by
play guys. This is this is incredible. If this guy
keeps you like this, this team's gonna be hard to beat.
To nothing. Score it's to nothing. If he keeps dude
like this, there's no stopping this team stopping already. You
know you exaggerate it. I've never seen anything like that.
(45:39):
It was a three point shot. What have you never
seen before? What do you do? You have a mirror
right now?
Speaker 2 (45:45):
This is you on Twitter. This is you after the
first quarter of a game.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
Oh, this is you and your play by play buddies
who over exaggerate everything and I mean everything. Tone it
down a little bit, would you please? Not? Everything is
the best thing you've ever seen since sliced bread. So
he'll be playing in the next level, that's for sure.
So everybody can't play at the next level.
Speaker 4 (46:10):
So the reason why there's so many reviews and the
game has slowed down is the play by play guy's fault.
Speaker 3 (46:16):
No, no, I just had to throw that in there,
take a shot at you and your buddies.
Speaker 4 (46:19):
I'm not calling any college basketball games, so this would
be more thin, right.
Speaker 3 (46:25):
I just it was just getting a little too crazy,
a little too much for me. That everything is the
best thing, and I've never seen that before, and oh
my goodness this, and oh my goodness that you know.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
Well, I'm I'm I'm not lying to you when I
tell you that a majority of my viewing today was
without audio, Like what you're what you're talking about right now?
I haven't heard and I don't know if I just
got lucky or what, But I mean, I literally I've
heard Kevin Harlan on radio.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
I've listened to the Who's Who is anine Eagle that's
calling it?
Speaker 3 (47:01):
Yeah, I do like him.
Speaker 4 (47:02):
You're just lumping us all in a one group though,
saying that we can't get too carried away about anything
that happens. But were they not supposed to get excited
when the A and M kid hit the game tying three?
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Ah? But it's just everything you guys, do you think
you got the attitudes like you're better than everybody else?
I'm the play by play guy, a big deal. Anybody
could describe the action.
Speaker 2 (47:21):
Stop it.
Speaker 4 (47:22):
This is absolutely, I mean hilarious coming from you right now, mister.
Every single time the Wildcats are mentioning, you peak the
poor levels on the board for Mary because you got
a growl into the microphone. But us getting excited over
something big happening early in the game is unacceptable.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
Yes, and I'm I'm the big play by play guy.
Everybody get out of my.
Speaker 7 (47:43):
Way and.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
Right this is this is this stur me off and
moneyline bet rights. This Northern Lights pin is exactly what
I needed for this A and M Houston game. This
and the beer will get me ready to hear Stinking
Genius had war word of vomit about Arizona. But if
he's talking college sports, please let Plank throw down about
(48:06):
his Sooner softball team. Oh that's coming, Wait till May, March, madness, Now,
softball's in May. But you should feel good about your
your Wildcats right now.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
I have not. I'm being serious about that. I didn't
like the way they played against slug Beach State, even
though they won by twenty, they had to pull away
late there their defenses and churches. And let me tell
you something in the game, Uh, their last game against Dayton,
they had to pull Umar Bottle out of the game
because he was getting chewed up on the pick and roll.
And I'm they had to put like a guy that
(48:36):
was six three six four on their center because he
was doing a better job than and then Bottle was
I'm like, yo, you gotta get Bottle back in the game.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
I don't care.
Speaker 3 (48:45):
Obvious he was getting some easy lambs. But just overall,
Arizona is not They've been like a seven out of ten, Chris,
their their best games are.
Speaker 4 (48:54):
You have to come hopefully you don't have to be
a ten out of ten until the sweet sixteen.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
Well, you want to know something, Forny. The year Arizona
won it all in ninety seven. Their first game was
against South Alabama and I believe we were losing by
seven with about five or six minutes left in the game. Really, yes, yes,
that's the year we won it all too. How about that?
Speaker 2 (49:16):
And let's see what was the uh go on?
Speaker 3 (49:18):
You have to look that off. I have the sega
look that up or However, you say the pretty sure I.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
Thought you were a one seed that year, you guys
wanted as a four seed.
Speaker 3 (49:28):
Yeah, we beat three number one seeds. That's the only
time that's ever happened. We'd beat three number one seeds
on the way to to win. I was at that
championship game and my wife flew down from Chicago had
met me down there.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
My Golden Hurricane that was my final year of college,
won their first round game over Boston University. I don't
know why I forgot everything about it except that Boston
you had a player named Tunji Awa Jobi, and everyone
was like, Oklahoma, ur touls is gonna get beat by Boston,
and we beat him by thirty and then the refs
achieved as to Clempson beat us in South Alabama. You
(50:01):
ended up winning the game sixty five to fifty seven,
and then you got lucky that Maryland got beat because
then you barely got by College of Charleston.
Speaker 5 (50:09):
When do we beat South Alabama? You said, I didn't
hear sixty five to fifty seven.
Speaker 3 (50:13):
Yeah, that seems like that was a blowout, But it
was a lot closer than that, to be honest with you.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
You know, but so you're not as high on the
way that your Wildcats have played, but going forward you
feel confident.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
Yeah, I think Clemson will push around. Like I said,
not a big fit. I think Davos Sweeney's overrated, so
we should beat his team. And I know he's just
football coach. I'm just being funny out there. And look,
Clemson is a good team. I hate teams that shooting.
File shots very well and they're a good shooting team,
but they didn't have it today. They were lucky to
advance too, But I think we should get by the
more seven that point favorite.
Speaker 4 (50:47):
Brennan writes, forget my lack of NCAA basketball know how.
But while I'm still interested in what happens go Aztecs,
my interest and anger are on the internet shrolls regarding
a major non in see a A story. I apologize
to the two of you, but I have to call
them out. Is this show hat related, you think? Because
(51:09):
there seems to be a lot of takes on what
show Hay's up to, It's gotta be right.
Speaker 3 (51:13):
Well, he said that there's a people are making too
much of the show a story as that is a
complaints or what.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
That's kind of what it sounds like to me.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
Maybe here's see what he's gotta say tomorrow, and and well.
Speaker 4 (51:26):
You're not gonna believe what he says unless he comes
out and says, I have a gambling problem and I
got help for it and we fixed it, and uh,
this was this was the final payment.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
That's about the only thing where you're like, I believe him.
Speaker 3 (51:40):
I believe him.
Speaker 4 (51:41):
That's the only thing that any that he can say
is if he admits to being some sort of degenerate
that anyone's gonna believe.
Speaker 2 (51:48):
That's just the reality.
Speaker 4 (51:49):
If he says, listen, the dude embezzled money from me,
never knew about it, no one's gonna believe him, right,
No one's gonna believe him.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
You're not you already don't believe them. But I just wondered, well,
I want to see who is new interpreters gonna be no,
you know, I want to know. I want to know
if he's gonna take well, now I do that for sure.
I want to know if he's gonna be taking questions
or if he's just gonna make a statement and leave.
I wonder how much the media is going to grill him.
There's a lot of questions I have for tomorrow. Rs.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Rights.
Speaker 4 (52:18):
I think it's much of you about nothing. You ever
lend money to a questionable buddy? Otani just did it
on a bigger scale.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
Yeah, I'm not so sure about that.
Speaker 2 (52:28):
Have you ever?
Speaker 4 (52:30):
Have you ever loaned money to a questionable friend? I
can honestly say I have, with the promise that they
were gonna pay me back. They never paid me back,
aren't he? But it was only it was only a
hundred bucks.
Speaker 3 (52:42):
My buddy about uh six months ago, loan the friend
ten thousand dollars that he never got it back. I
need friends like you have. Hold Yeah, well he actually
passed away, so he's never gonna get that money back now.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
So that's dude, that's funny. The guy that owed me
money passed away.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
The guy who loaned them the money passed away?
Speaker 4 (52:59):
Oh yeah, yeah, the guy gave the money to pass
Should I like call his his family?
Speaker 2 (53:04):
Hey, listen, I don't know if you know this, but
he owed to me a hundred bucks for hundred maybe
ten thousand or I'm not that terrible of a person.
I'll just send a text.
Speaker 4 (53:16):
Here's one from Brussa, who writes, I think sho he
Otani and the and the interpreter are both publicly going
to claim it was in me for as long as possible.
I'm convinced Show he paid him a few million under
the table to change his story and take the fall.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
You know, Chris, this is not very difficult to to
find out the answers. You know, it's not like this
is an episode of One Order where you got an
hour and you just funny follow the money trail. That's
what they're gonna do. They'll follow the money, They'll see
how it was distributed, how it came out of the account,
who authorized the.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
You know the payment?
Speaker 3 (53:52):
Did Show Ay? Did he have to sign something? Sometimes
you have to sign the slip for that. Oh sure,
you can't just call up and go, yeah, send five
million over here. You know, things just don't work like that.
You have to have a paper trail to stuff like this.
So though, no, it's not gonna be that tough for
the baseball and the Feds and all that to do
an investigation and find out exactly what's going on.
Speaker 4 (54:14):
I love my forensic accountant, Arnie Spaniard, that has taken
part in the program here. Nature Boy adds Nature Boy's
been on fire tonight. The NFL network decided to air
The Music City Miracle today to kick more sand in
the face of Bills fans all over the world.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
I still say that was a forward pass. Oh, it
absolutely was. I don't know how they ruled that was
a backwards pass. That's great.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
I never felt smart in my life than whenever I
said I don't I think my buddy was playing for
the Bills at the time, and I said, whoever wins
this Bills Titans game is going to the super Bowl,
and the Titans won and went to the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
Felt smart, Arnie.
Speaker 4 (54:50):
But yeah, I will say for a little bit today
Daring which the Duke game kind of got a little
bit away, and they were playing an old AFC championship
game or an old AFC playoff game, and I'm.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
Sitting watching it and it all actually I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (55:03):
It was the Giants and the Niners, and I'm watching
it and it's so funny, even just like ten years ago,
the things we were doing in the game then.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
We just can't do now. For safeties and linebackers and
defensive linemen. It was crazy. Yeah, But shouts out to
you Nature Boy for watching what I was.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
It's a final.
Speaker 4 (55:21):
The first two rounds of the NCAA are complete. San
Diego State eighty five, Yale fifty seven. The Astacs are
back in the Sweet sixteen.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
Yeah. I don't know that there's such an underrated club.
I always root for them every year because I want
e from the suffer, and every year they do well.
So yeah, that was a good victory by them, no
doubt about that.
Speaker 4 (55:43):
Why do you root against your friend's teams? That's what
I've never understood. And then you get mad because we
would root against JRS.
Speaker 3 (55:50):
Well, my team had you know, was eliminated early last year,
so I was really bitter.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
Ah. So this is just something that still carries over.
Speaker 3 (55:58):
Yeah, yeah last year, like that girl that dub me
uh when I was in college, so like in the eighties. Yeah,
So now I gotta be rooting against Texas A and
M the rest of my life.
Speaker 4 (56:07):
This is what's being described as a very chalky Sweet sixteen.
The average seed is three point three. The normal Sweet
sixteen average seed from nineteen eighty five until last year
was a four point five. This isn't the chalkiest Sweet
sixteen we've ever had. That was in two thousand and nine,
(56:28):
and is Seger talked about twenty nineteen. Arnie, that's when
the average seed was a three point one, so literally
it was like one, two, three four in every single potz. Yeah,
the wackiest tournament that we've had twenty twenty one. The
average seed for the Sweet sixteen, the sixteen teams, the
average seed.
Speaker 2 (56:46):
Five point nine.
Speaker 3 (56:48):
Wow, Wow, crazy. I would have thought it was the
year that like George Mason made the final four or something.
Speaker 4 (56:54):
Guess nut, guess nut. Thanks every buddy John Gassaway for
those numbers. You'll follow him on Twitter atgeh Gasway.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
All right, quick break.
Speaker 4 (57:00):
When we come back, we're slightly to check in in
Vegas with our buddy Todd Furman. It's Arnie in Plank
Comedy live from the tire Rack dot Com Studios on
Fox Sports Radio. Let's say what's up to our buddy
Todd Furman as we're comany live from the tire rack
dot Com Studios with Arnie Spaniel on Chris Plank. Can
follow Todd on Twitter at Todd Furman. Also listen to
(57:21):
bet to Board podcast. Tod just threw up the Sweet
sixteen consensus lines, which are official, but before we dive
into those Todd general thoughts, how'd you feel about the
first two rounds the NCAA Tournament as a fan?
Speaker 8 (57:35):
You know, we got some games that were tight throughout,
plenty of overtime games, maybe the most unlikely of all
of them that just unfolded earlier tonight between Houston and
Texas A and M with the Aggi's erasing a double
digit deficit for the final three plus minutes. We got
a double overtime game between Creighton and Oregon before the
Ducks completely ran out of steam. And I think on
the flip side of the spectrum, we've seen the cream
(57:56):
really rise to the top. We've also seen a bevy
of blowouts, maybe the most chalk heavy that we'll see
in the sweet sixteen, with all number one and number
two seeds advancing for the first time in quite a while.
Speaker 3 (58:06):
And for that reason alone, Todd, your buddies at the
sportsbooks are getting collaborate, my friend. They're getting beat like razy.
Speaker 8 (58:14):
It's definitely not a great scenario when you see favorites
in the round of thirty two go fifteen and one
straight up. And while the ATS numbers weren't nearly that strong,
they still were pretty productive and profitable for those folks
in those spots. You also have a lot of these, hope,
higher profile games going flying over the total, and it
feels like scoring on the whole is up this year
compared to what we've seen in the past. I think
(58:35):
we have now five teams that have eclipsed the century
mark so far, and you know, maybe it's a credit
to how durable some of these kids are coming from
the AAU programs, not slowing down, you know, in the
way shape and form we seen with NC State playing
five games in five days and win the ACC title
and then being able to outlast two opponents being Texas
Tech out right and then of course Oakland and overtime.
(58:56):
So should set up for a couple of Marquee matchups
on Thursday and Friday night, a lot of fun. A
far cry from last year when we had some more
underrepresented leagues go a little bit deeper into the tournament.
Speaker 4 (59:06):
When you started diving into the early numbers, anything really
jump out. I got to be honest, I thought that
Purdue number might be a little bit bigger four and
a half point favorite over Gonzaga. I honestly thought the
Marquette number might be a little bit bigger only six
and a half.
Speaker 2 (59:22):
What stood out to you, you know, I think when you.
Speaker 8 (59:24):
Look at some of these games, Perdue and Gonzaga played
earlier this year back in Maui, so it's almost a
full circle moment for those two teams. I think the
big question for Mark few Ken they come up with
a unique game plan to slow down Zach Edie because
when you look at the perimeter, Gonzaga will have a
major edge in my opinion, and this time of year,
when you look at a lot of these programs that
are there, we know most of these teams can score,
(59:45):
they can defend, and it'll be about the coaching adjustments
that get made. So it's always fascinating to see some
of that chess match. And when you look through some
of the head coaches that are there, a number of
them have pedigree, some making their first trip to the
Sweet sixteen. And we also have a national championship brief
between San Diego State and Yukon, even if those teams
are constructed a little bit differently. So I think there's
plenty of intrigue across the board and a number of
(01:00:08):
power programs that'll be moving on to the next round,
and we'll see if the likes of Brad Underwood at
Illinois or Tommy Lloyd at Arizona or Matt Painter at Purdue,
you know, Rick Barnes at Tennessee can get some of
these teams into the final four. Or maybe it's John
Shire's time to finally, you know, move out of the
shadows of Kacheshevski and Durham get that program going forward,
or of course Calvin Sampson getting that elusive national championship.
Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
Todd Todder, come on, my wildcats man. Two wins, now,
we should take care of clubs and no problem.
Speaker 8 (01:00:36):
You know, I'm not sure I'll go that far. I
think Brad Brownell's team is going to do everything they
can to slow it down. And when you look at
Arizona through the first two games, you know, relatively four
tuitous bounces and they've earned that the right to play
Long Beach State in the two fifteen game and then
take on a Dayton team that, in my opinion, was
pretty fortunate to erase the seventeen point deficit against Nevada,
Clemson showed they weren't going to be overwhelmed by a
(01:00:58):
very good offensive team in Baylor. Now Arizona can take
that up in spades, but it'll be a question of
who can impose their will from a pace and tempo standpoint.
Total suggests that we'll see plenty of points in that
game as well. But this is a Clemson team that
I think has earned their marks, and you know, they
got a little bit of taste of New Mexico who
wanted to try and push them. But Arizona is in
another class.
Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
Todd, do we need your expert opinion? I'm sure you've
been asked a thousand times what have you made of
the show hey o Tani story.
Speaker 8 (01:01:25):
I think you have to wait for there to be
a little bit more to shake out. Do I love
the optics of his camp kind of recanting on their
initial story, you know, twice in the first twenty four hours.
Probably not the best look anymore than if someone had stolen,
you know, north of four million dollars from me. I
don't have the bank world that Arnie does, where that
money just kind of disappears into the ether. But it
looked like a very friendly discussion in the dugout between
(01:01:47):
show Hey and his interpreter. So I just want the
truth to come out in all of this, we'll see
how aggressive Major League Baseball gets with their investigation. And
I'm very curious to hear what sho he says in
his first public remarks that'll come tomorrow. But we know
the sensitivity about legalized sports betting being in one vein
a legal bookmaker something completely different that I think the
league wants to try and get to the bottom of
(01:02:07):
it and figure out, you know, ultimately, what the truth
is behind all the stories and the rumor mils that
have been circulating sponce this story broke.
Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
What do you think he's going to say, though I'm
up good to do, his new interpreter is going to.
Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
Be you know, yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:02:19):
I mean, look, I don't think you're going to get
too much. It's not like Shohey is going to throw
his you know, full time interpret over the last handful
of years, you know, under the bus. But you know,
speculation will continue to run rampant, and I think the
Dodgers have to kind of put him up there, allowing
to answer a few questions, whether they're softballs or otherwise.
The great part about using that language barrier to your benefit.
I'm sure there are plenty of questions that they can
(01:02:41):
you know, Dip, duck and dodge that they don't feel
all right in his wheelhouse? So I think a resolution,
you know, for all parties involved studior rather than later,
would be in everyone's best interest. But I don't think
this story is any close to finding a tidy ending
anytime in the immediate future.
Speaker 4 (01:02:56):
Moving a looking a back to basketball now, are you
I've seeing much action on the women's tournament. I feel
like all my friends in the college ranks are selling
the women's tournament has more storylines, It is more exciting
than the men's tournament.
Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
Are you seeing more action?
Speaker 3 (01:03:12):
Is?
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Can you gamble on the women's games? You can't gamble?
Speaker 8 (01:03:15):
Yeah, you can gamble on the women's games, and some
of the higher profile games late in the year did
have numbers available, but typically for the women's tournament, and
I can't speak for every sports book, the handle won't
get ratchet up until some of these games are in
kind of standalone time slots. Very difficult for the women
to represent a large share of wallet when they're going
up head to head with the men's tournament that's taking place.
But you know, if you get a star studdard final four,
(01:03:36):
whether it's a USC and LSU and Iowa, a South
Carolina that's in there. There is no doubt those storylines
that you mentioned, Chris will generate plenty of buzz. And
I think the one big thing that we've seen from
the women's tournament thus far and no surprise to anybody,
is that the cream typically rises to the top. You
see a boatload of favorites end up winning these games outright,
and it's harder to find some of the upsets, although
(01:03:58):
we did get a couple upsets today knocking off Ohio State,
you know, Colorado taking care of Kansas State and a
few others, which was a lot different than what we
saw to the first two days.
Speaker 3 (01:04:07):
Tod, I'm going to give you a little bit of
a timp. This is going to be a good but
and you're gonna like this one. Always bet the team
that the referee went and got a master's degree from
there before they get pulled from the game. Do you
hear that story or what? Dodd?
Speaker 8 (01:04:19):
I think it's interesting that the NCAA didn't do their
due diligence to try and make sure they have a
fully vetted background check in all of it. But look,
aren't you there are plenty of people that are disgruntled
about their alma mater, so you never know if the
balls are going to go one hundred and eighty the
degrees the other way compared to where they should be.
But clearly not what the NCAA wanted around one of
the women's games.
Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
That's fore sure.
Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
You know what I really want to ask you, Todd,
Why have I seen stories that hotels are either getting
rid of their sports books or cutting it down in size?
What's going on there?
Speaker 8 (01:04:51):
You know, it's extremely valuable real estate that can be
used for a variety of other ways to generate revenue.
And is when you look at sportsbook and the increased
expl to some of the mobile apps that are there. Look,
that can be the number one vehicle that people are
using the bet For any folks that have been to
an MGM property East and Super Bowl out here, they
have a ton of ambassadors trying to move folks to
the convenience of their mobile phone. So you know, as
(01:05:13):
cliche as it sounds, it allows you to take the
sports book with you throughout the casino and as we know,
slot machines, video poker, and a variety of other games
of chance can be just as profitable. So I think
the large scale footprint for the sports book is something
that's becoming obsolete, and it's a credit to what Derek
Stevens and company built at Circa along with Stadium Swim
to really be able to take advantage of that compared
(01:05:34):
to the larger sports books and the amphitheaters you'll see
at the Westgates Superbook or Caesars versus some of the
newer casinos that have been built like Fountain Blue Resorts World.
Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
Great stuff, Todd, You're the man. Have an awesome week,
Enjoy the Sweet sixteen.
Speaker 8 (01:05:48):
Fair enough, always always a pleasure, gentlemen. Look forward to
catching up next week.
Speaker 4 (01:05:52):
Thank you, Tom Todd Ferman Every Sunday night right here
with Arni and playing on Fox Sports Radio. You know
who else is here every Sunday night, Steve the Seger
who it well? Is everything a final now, Steve? Not
quite yet?
Speaker 3 (01:06:05):
Right? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Pretty much?
Speaker 7 (01:06:06):
Everything's a final?
Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
Yeah? We make her I think so. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:06:10):
We had the Stanford overtime game. By the way, are
we aware of the freshman center that did so well
for roddychrust Iowa stayed in the first round exactly. She
was incredible forty Yeah, in a forty minute game where
they beat Maryland a couple of days ago, and then
tonight at two seed Stanford. Well, she fouled out three
(01:06:31):
of twenty one shoe that's pretty good on the floor
and they lost over it and took an absolute header two.
Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
She got slammed into the core, but she was okay
and played on.
Speaker 7 (01:06:43):
Can I just say, speaking as one who has covered
men's and women's sports and enjoys watching both, this is
an example of why it's laughable that women's sports in
this country be considered the equal of men's because it's
a standard procedure in these sports to list and athletes
height and weight. Oh yeah, except if they're women.
Speaker 3 (01:07:02):
Of course.
Speaker 7 (01:07:03):
The athlete's weight in women's sports is avoided more often
than that. I mean, when the late Jared Lorenzen was quarterback,
his weight was well known the two eighty five or so,
it was part of the story. So this isn't a
comment against her personally at all. It's just an obvious
question that no one else ever seems to ask. Why
don't women's teams release the height and weight of their players?
(01:07:26):
They're athletes, right or are they?
Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
I think they are.
Speaker 7 (01:07:31):
Why are you treating them differently? You know when Oklahoma
softball at jos Lonallo crushing Homer after Homer, Ye, her
height and weight would be part of the story like
it is for Aaron Judge.
Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
Yep.
Speaker 7 (01:07:44):
It's just I'm stunned that nobody ever brings this.
Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
Up unless they're trying to make fun of someone.
Speaker 9 (01:07:49):
No.
Speaker 7 (01:07:50):
Right, Yeah, I'm saying once again, I like women's sports.
I've covered it, I watch it, I will continue to
watch it. But there's no reason to treat them as
une equals with the men's sports in this regard. I
just have no explanation given for that. Nca Men's hoop
second round of the tournament is over. The late game
went to San Diego State over Yale eighty five fifty seven.
(01:08:13):
This is a Yale team that, remember that beat Auburn
first round with the key block. Late story is over.
Next up one seed in the East Yukon and that
eastreet and SEMI will be in Boston, not that far
from the Connecticut campus. On Thursday night, Alabama and Clemson
each one West Region games. Clemson beat three seed Baylors
seventy two to sixty four. Alabama was only ahead of
(01:08:36):
Grand Canyon sixty two to sixty one with four minutes
left seventy two to sixty one. Bama the final one
seed in the Midwest. Purdue, playing close to home in Indianapolis,
won again one oh six sixty seven over Utah, state
one seed in its region the South. Houston won in
overtime tonight against Texas A and M one hundred to
ninety five, even though A and M forced the ot
(01:08:57):
with a three pointer at the buzzer. Duke no problem
beating James Madison today ninety three to fifty five, and
the day started with a good game Marquette over Colorado
eighty one to seventy seven. In the nit second round,
Utah at home beat Iowa. Wins for UNLV and VCU
as well. West Virginia's new head coach is Darien Devrees
from Drake. I mentioned in the women's second round two
(01:09:19):
seed Stanford on its home court, we won in overtime
against Iowa State. Iowa on its home court tomorrow will
be hosting West Virginia first couple rounds or on home
courts for some of these teams in the women's tourney,
and yeah, the late game is over in Los Angeles.
The Lakers built the lead up to nine by late
in the game, and eventually it was a five point
advantage with a final score of one fifty to one
(01:09:43):
forty five over the Indiana Basers.
Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Yeah, they allowed.
Speaker 7 (01:09:48):
The Lakers did sixty eight points in the first half
and it just got worse after that. But w's aw
and Golden State lost one fourteen to one ten at Minnesota.
NASCAR win for William Byrons soccer defeat in Mexico to
nothing in the Nation's League Final at Arlington, Texas. The
Americans have a seven game unbeaten streak against Mexico, five
(01:10:08):
and zero with two ties. Their last loss against him
was five years ago. MLB Opening Day is Thursday for
most teams, and yes, the Dodgers show. Hey Otani is
due to address the media tomorrow regarding the scandal involving
his former interpreter. Tonight at Dodger Stadium, an exhibition the
Freeway Series, as it's known, Dodgers over the Angels five
to three.
Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
That's bag that series. People don't realize that.
Speaker 7 (01:10:30):
And it's odd this year because the Dodgers have already
played two regular season games.
Speaker 3 (01:10:34):
Back we were talking about the Dodgers starting early last Sunday,
And even though we talked about that they were starting early,
I still saw all the scores that go, oh, let
me find the met game. The Mets starting, even though
we knew that, I knew that they weren't, it was,
and I still got confused.
Speaker 7 (01:10:52):
Thursday Thursday for most Geez Dodger pitcher Bobby Miller the
win in LA tonight four and two third, scoreless, five strikeouts.
Speaker 4 (01:10:59):
Back to you, Steve, all right, a couple of quick
notes here, our buddy Colin hits us up.
Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
Yeah, cow Goward, this is Colin Restoric. Okay, my bad,
my story.
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
Why do you think everyone named Colin is Colin Coward?
Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
I just just you know, Diard, fan of the show
rights Colin respect in c A march In c A
march Madison. All but you guys gotta throw us NFL
fans of bone here. Well, I'm sorry, Colin. As you know,
I am a slave to Arnie's uh Roman numerals. And
there's not a single Roman numeral Roman numeral here at
(01:11:35):
all for the NFL, and.
Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
I had twelve Roman numerals. I didn't put anything down
for the put Kit Maulke down for Roman numeral number eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
Yeah, that's not football. Why did you ignore the NFL?
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
I I don't know. There was so much going on
in March bad.
Speaker 4 (01:11:51):
Well, I think it's fair to say it's been a
relatively slow couple of days. Yeah, you had the you
had the trade of Snead at the cornerback for I
broke out a couple of weeks ago. You had a
fake report that he'd been traded to the Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
Okay, that's so, that's pretty that's close enough.
Speaker 4 (01:12:09):
So you're going to try to pat yourself on the
back for falling for a fake tweet that had a
guy going to a team that he didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
Get traded to.
Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
Gotta look at the bright side, I guess, or just.
Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
Take the l you know, it's one of the two.
I like this story though, to give you a little
NFL why do we have so many public pleas by
teams that their pick is on the market, Like, what
is New England doing? Are they not getting any action
for the number three pick? Because John Mayo comes out
and while they were at Cable Williams pro day, JJ
(01:12:45):
McCarthy's pro day, they're expected to be a Jayden Daniels
and Drake May's pro day which is next week.
Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
Daniel's going second.
Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
Don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
It's a great question, and I mcarthy really going to
the Giants. I think it's a possibility, but it depends
on what happens at three. I mean, are are they
asking too much for three? Because when it coaches, Hey,
this pick is on the block, right, we're listening to
offers that seems to be really public. So I wonder
(01:13:15):
if they're not getting the juice they want or if
maybe they're not getting well the amount of offers they thought.
Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
You don't have to trade up the number three for
getting a wide receivers. There's puddy, there's what three or
four wide receivers. I could easily fit into the top ten.
So you're not gonna trade it for a while. Well,
we're talking quarterback here. You'rembing enough to three for a quarterback.
The only reason you're moving up to three was for
a quarterback. And I guess you're gonna do it for
May if he's available. So that's something you're gonna have
to wait and see on the day of the draft.
(01:13:43):
That that's my guest there, Chris.
Speaker 4 (01:13:45):
Maybe I'm wrong, So I would think though New England
would have what it done before the draft, right potentially?
Speaker 3 (01:13:51):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:13:52):
Do you remember when I feel like we're going back
a long way, Arnie. Let me take you back to
the year twenty sixteen. In the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia
Eagles moved up to number two. They traded for the
number two pick, and they had just decided that, hey,
whomever the Rams don't take it one, we're fine taking
(01:14:12):
it too. Now that ended up being Jared Goff and
Carson Wentz, neither with the original team, right right, right,
So I I mean, if something.
Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
Like that could happen where it's like, we don't care,
it's either Daniels or Drake May and we'll take whatever's
left over at number three, is what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
Right, We'll take uh, we'll take whatsever there at three.
Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
And that's a possibility.
Speaker 4 (01:14:32):
Yes, that's a possibility if it's with Karthy or if
it's May, or if it's the Angel talking New.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
England where you have to pay a you just have
to pay like an extra tax because you're dealing with
New England, you know what I mean. It's an extra
tax if you're gonna trade with New England just to
go to that, and they're just so tough to deal with.
Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
It seems like, well, but isn't it a whole new
regime now, Well.
Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
It's still the same owners though, you know, it's still
the craft people.
Speaker 1 (01:14:56):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
But I mean, if was it crap that made him
so tough to the or was it Belichick?
Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
I thought they took those that duty away from Belichick
after a while they're like, you know what, you you
You're done with you? Why you think he was?
Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
I think he was calling the shots until the moment
he wasn't and that was when he left.
Speaker 3 (01:15:15):
Oh, yes, yeah, I'm surprised. I don't think he did.
You live there, Yeah, you don't know that. I think
there was a lot of people that said that they
took the draft part away from him.
Speaker 4 (01:15:24):
No, are you kidding me? They took the draft thing
away from Belichick. He would have left probably at that moment.
Maybe you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
I thought they did though, so I could be.
Speaker 2 (01:15:34):
Wrong on that.
Speaker 4 (01:15:34):
But so you think that it's hard to deal with, Well,
I think it would be hard to deal with anyone
in the top three because they would want so much.
Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
In return, right, right again, But you know, if you're
dealing with a quarterback, then you're gonna get a little
bit more, right, you know, you're gonna pay a little
bit extra because you think you're getting a generational type
quarterback there for your team.
Speaker 4 (01:15:53):
Or they're going to expect you to trade them extra
because they feel like you're getting that. Would you move
up if you needed a quarterback on the whim that
you would get either may or Daniels and not care
which one.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
That depends what team I am and how far I
got to move up If I'm the Giants. No, but
you told me I can get McCarthy at number six,
so I'm not crazy about him anyway, So I'm not
sure I would want to go ahead and do that.
I'm not sure I want to pay the high price
for that.
Speaker 4 (01:16:18):
You know, if you feel like you're at quarterback away
then maybe, or if you just want a guy to
build around. Hey, Arnie and Plank brought to you tonight

Speaker 7 (01:17:08):
What's up, Steve de Seger? Excitement in this NCAA tournament.
Houston with the overtime win over A and M tonight.
Just in the last two minutes of regulation of this one,
the Aggies outscored Houston seventeen to five. Geez hit that
three pointer at the buzzer to send it to overtime.
And the guy who hit the three, Anderson Garcia, that
was the only three pointer he attempted in this whole
(01:17:30):
long game, and he had only attempted eight to three
pointers for the whole season until he hit that to
keep their season going. But Houston wins. They'll meet Duke
in the sweet sixteen in the late game Friday. Houston
will be in Dallas. We have had one hundred points
scoring games multiples, not just Houston with the exactly one
(01:17:51):
hundred in overtime tonight Bama first round at one hundred,
there was the Florida Colorado. Yeah, each side's qored one
hundred there. That was first time in years perdue today
over one hundred. First time since nineteen eighty nine in
the tournament that we've had five teams score one hundred
points in a game in the first two rounds. In
other words, first time since Loyal Lamarrimount was big in
(01:18:13):
the tournament nineteen eighty nine and they were high scoring.
And then there's Northwestern's offense because they didn't even get
twenty points in the first twenty minutes of their Friday opener,
but they did win in overtime to advance, and then
at halftime they didn't get twenty points in the first
twenty minutes tonight against Yukon. They were down horrible forty
to eighteen at the half they were losing to Connecticut.
(01:18:34):
So Northwestern, according to AP, is actually the first team
to be held under twenty points in a first half
twice in the same tournament since Villanova on its run
to the national title in nineteen eighty five. That was
the last year there was no shot clock. Remember, Villanova
barely took any shots in that upset of Georgetown in
(01:18:55):
the final, and back in the days where you could
just hold the ball on offense in stall. So aside
from Northwestern's very little offense this weekend and Villanova with
very little in nineteen eighty five, to be held under
twenty in the first half of two different games in
the same tournament had only happened once since the nineteen forties,
so notable what Northwestern did not do on offense this weekend.
(01:19:19):
But the viewership has been great for the tournament so far.
Records the apparently it's nine million viewers average per window.
In other words, there's a noon Eastern time, you got
four different channels going at the same time. Adam up
nine million viewers, they said Thursday, the first round average
was eight and a half million per window. But that
upset of Kentucky by Oakland on Thursday night, that game
(01:19:42):
alone got six point two million viewers, which means almost
nobody was watching the other three channels in that window.
But the numbers have been good for the tournament so
far despite the fact that we're getting a lot of blowouts.
I mean not just the Duke and Perdue wins today,
the Yukon win and the San Diego State win tonight.
We are averaging nearly a sixteen point margin of victory
(01:20:04):
in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. That's
almost a record since they expanded the field nineteen eighty five.
Like it that the average margin of victory so far
is fifteen point eight points. We mentioned it earlier that
Clemson plays Arizona in the Sweet sixth Thursday at seven
(01:20:25):
pm Eastern time. The Houston Duke game is late Friday
in Dallas. Marquette plays a Sweet sixteen game Friday against
NC State that's seven pm Eastern time. Perdue Gonzaga in
the Sweet sixteen is Friday at seven thirty pm Eastern Time,
and Perdue beat Gonzaga Ian Maui in November.
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
Good stuff, Steve Hey.
Speaker 4 (01:20:47):
When we come back to the track dot com studios,
it's your tweets, where is Arnie in the bracket challenge
and what can we expect in the Sweet sixteen to
the elite eight of the Final four. Also a few
NFL notes and Dion Sanders talking that talk. We'll dive
into it all as we get you ready for the
(01:21:08):
final hour of Arnie and Plank right here on Fox

me tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
Why is that?
Speaker 4 (01:21:36):
I feel like I've done a pretty good job of
following along in the Roman numerals here.
Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
Yeah, there's so a lot of stuff we haven't gotten
to yet, but there's still.
Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
Okay, you know, we hit we hit Roman Numeral one marches.
That's the games best win, worst loss, best game. What
was the best game in your Opinioneah, that.
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
Was a good one. That was a real nice one.
Speaker 4 (01:21:59):
Can I think the Houston A game could have been
up there, but it became a ref show, right, I
mean that's all it was. It was just Houston breathing
on guys and getting called for fouls. Coaches on the
hot list. This is Roman Numeral too, and there's a
purpose behind this. We should be clear. This isn't because
Arnie wants to get into a John Calipari should he
(01:22:21):
go should he stay debate.
Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
This is because Arnie wants to crush Bill self for
what he said.
Speaker 3 (01:22:28):
Well, you know, Bill selfs saying that we already I
already moved on to next year last month was just atrocious.
I mean, I can't believe a coach would say something
like that. That is so wrong. And it really because
the injuries took him down. It wasn't because his team
wasn't performing or anything to that effect. So I think
(01:22:48):
that's just a horrible way of looking at it.
Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
You know, Oh, I think, and I love Bill self.
I will, I will fight and go to the mattresses
for Bill self. But that was not the Oh that
was not the smartest thing I've heard him say. No, yah, no, Hey,
it's been a couple of weeks where he's really stuck
his foot in his mouth.
Speaker 2 (01:23:08):
And maybe I covered Big twelve hoops a little bit
too much, or at.
Speaker 3 (01:23:11):
Least I did.
Speaker 2 (01:23:11):
I guess, now, what's up at SEC?
Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
Let's go wait, they don't care about hoops.
Speaker 4 (01:23:15):
But if we're talking about Bill Selphier, he questioned, or
at least it sounded like he was questioning Kevin mcculler's injury,
where he basically said, well, he just can't go. It
made it sound like he couldn't or wouldn't fight through
the pain. So that led to this big on slot
of Kansas fans all over. Kevin McCuller himself had to
(01:23:35):
send out this ridiculously long tweet, and then he comes
out after the loss where they get smoked by Gonzagen says,
I've been thinking about next year for a while now.
Speaker 3 (01:23:46):
Yeah, I mean come on, yeah. And then hey, coach
Kyle Pari, man, what about that guy?
Speaker 2 (01:23:52):
I mean, oh, you know, we.
Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
Got young guys. I would have to rethink my whole
thing now and maybe start looking for guys fifties or something.
I don't know, but we're gonna have to just get
older guys now, We're just get more mature. I guess
that's what we're gonna have to do.
Speaker 4 (01:24:07):
Well, you know, in reality, for John Calipari, who has
lived and died by the old one and Don's he is.
Speaker 2 (01:24:18):
He is gonna have to rethink some things now.
Speaker 4 (01:24:21):
I will say this is gonna cycle through because you're
not gonna have these COVID guys. I would assume at
some point we're gonna get a handle on the transferred portal.
Do you know there's that right now? There are no
rules in the portal, none whatsoever.
Speaker 3 (01:24:35):
What do you mean by rules?
Speaker 4 (01:24:37):
You can go and leave any time you want, You
can leave a school as many times as you want,
you can transfers.
Speaker 2 (01:24:43):
There are no rules in the portal.
Speaker 3 (01:24:44):
An wasn't you a guy that was played in the
NCAA tournament in his eighth year?
Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
No, I wouldn't doubt it. I wouldn't doubt it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:52):
That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
But yeah, they they've got to get a handled on
that will somehow get somehow. If it's not the NCAA
or whatever it's going to become, it'll be the conferences.
We'll get a handle on collectives in anil.
Speaker 3 (01:25:06):
So maybe the.
Speaker 4 (01:25:07):
Future isn't as bleak as it seems right now for
Kentucky fans. But Kentucky basketball is it's like Alabama football,
It's like Georgia football. It's like I mean, they expect championships.
They are not big on losing to Saint Peter's.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
Or Oakland. So we'll see what happens Arnie. The bracket update.
Speaker 4 (01:25:30):
Now, if there is one thing I hate worse than
over analyzing film and trying to break down games, it's
people talking about their brackets.
Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
But you currently find yourself in tenth place right now?
Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
Yeah, and though I do think it's I'll move up
because I I'll have the two teams in the championship game,
so I'll move up on that.
Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
Is it concerning that at all that our two gambling
experts are in last place right now?
Speaker 9 (01:25:57):
Is that?
Speaker 3 (01:25:57):
Yeah, that's a little funny.
Speaker 4 (01:25:58):
I thought that was kind of our buddy Bill Bill
Krackenberger and Jeff Schwartz are and I don't know, Uh,
Schwartz probably took Oregon to win it all, would be
my guess, yes, Uh, but oh my, oh my goodness.
Jeff's final four he had uh I think he had
Texas Tech going all the way to the final four.
(01:26:22):
That can't be right, Yeah he did.
Speaker 3 (01:26:24):
Oh boy.
Speaker 4 (01:26:24):
So good luck with Jeff Schwartz trying to rally. But
so you're feeling good about things moving forward, You're you're
still alive, you still got a chance here, though I do,
I do. You kind of fell for Florida Atlantic.
Speaker 2 (01:26:37):
That hurts you. It fell for Auburn, that hurts you
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:26:39):
Yeah it did.
Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
I did. I Kentucky for James Madison in Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (01:26:43):
Right, Kentucky hurt me. So that's why I'm down a
little bit. But I'm okay. I feel good. I'm I'm like,
what five points away from you?
Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
I didn't see where I was.
Speaker 3 (01:26:53):
You're your your eighth or fifth? Yeah, that's forty three
points five point.
Speaker 2 (01:27:00):
There's a lot in something like this, aren't ya?
Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
But you know what, you only have a potential of
making seventy one more points. I have the potential making
like ninety four or something to that effect.
Speaker 4 (01:27:10):
Uh okay, congratulations, you're still You're still well down the list.
Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
Yeah, well it will change my next Sunday. I promise
you that. Well, you promised us a bunch of ass.
Speaker 4 (01:27:20):
That never happens, dude, So how about coming up with
a new bit outside of I'll promise you that's gonna happen.
You said the same thing with Arizona and Princeton liked Arizona.
You said this same I'm talking last year. You said
the same thing with Miami. I promise you that they
get their asses kicked. Can we come up with something new?
Besides I promise you this? Like why, how what's going
(01:27:41):
to be the difference? Who's gonna make it happen for you?
Or is it just always going to be?
Speaker 3 (01:27:45):
Oh? I promise you. No, I said, I'll move up
as I have the championship game with Arizona and Tennessee.
So that's gonna see is your championship game? Yeah? That
was my championship game.
Speaker 4 (01:27:55):
Why what about Rick Barnes history at Tennessee or far
in March would lead you to believe that they can
do anything.
Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
I was going outside the box in that situation. You know,
you can't go with the chalk. Yeah, otherwise you're never
gonna win this damn thing. And I never won it anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
So wait, Aaron Torres says that he can't have any
more points. These can't be right. It says like plus zero.
Speaker 3 (01:28:17):
Yeah, yeah, I saw that too. I'm not sure what
that's all about.
Speaker 4 (01:28:21):
It says the same thing next to Crack's name too,
so yeah and fits. Well, maybe they're doomed. Maybe that's
where they're stuck. But the person setting the tone right
now is mister college basketball.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
Jonas Jonas knocks, which is very disturbing. I hate losing
to somebody like that. I hate losing Tom What do
you mean somebody like that? I hate losing to like
LeVar Arrington and Plaxico Baris and all those football guys.
It's embarrassing. You know, they're football guys, not basketball guys.
Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
Well you're not really a basketball guy either. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:28:54):
Yeah, I'm more of a basketball guy than they are,
based on based on their football Oh, guys, that's why.
Speaker 4 (01:29:01):
Whatever this is obviously going nowhere. Congratulations on your bracket
win and Arnie, because I know you already think you've
got it, so best of what the.
Speaker 3 (01:29:09):
Rest you said. I'm in tenth place again, five points
isn't all that much to make up to you. I'll
catch you. I should beat you, that's no problem. We'll
just see if I'm been able to get into the
top three.
Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
Yeah, good luck. And what do you win for it
if you beat me? Nothing?
Speaker 4 (01:29:23):
Because I don't sit here and brag about my picks.
You've got to beat me to prove that you're worthy
of these segments that we give to you. Absolutely, I'm
not sitting here trying to tell you how great all
my picks are. Like you do every single weekend, a
couple of quick tweets before we grab our break our
number three. Yes, we do ahead news right. I agree
with Bill self the reason he makes Nick Saban type money.
(01:29:47):
The dudes get first, get the portal. Guys like Hunter Dickinson,
Kansas has not been worse than a four seed this century.
Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
So wait a minute here.
Speaker 4 (01:29:58):
You agree with Bill self had News who usually has
decent takes, that he started looking ahead to next year
in December when he had Hunter Dickinson.
Speaker 2 (01:30:09):
From the portal. That they paid an exorbitant amount of
money too.
Speaker 3 (01:30:13):
What Yeah, why are you doing that in December, especially
when you're you know, you had a pretty good seed
and you saw the chance to make a run of
this tournament. I just don't understand what his rats now
is about that. You know I don't either.
Speaker 4 (01:30:27):
Now, the portal opens as soon as the regular season ends. Yeah,
the day after the conference tournaments. The brackets announced on Sunday.
The portal opens on Monday. It's the dumbest thing ever.
College football's got to figure it out too, because college
football has the portal opening right when the conference championship
games are over. So you've got free agency going on
(01:30:49):
that will be happening during the playoffs makes it makes
no sense. I get it, there's team billion that has
to take place when it makes no sense. The second
part of it is you're basically just dumping on your guy.
If you're saying you were looking ahead to next year
in December, Are you really doing the job that you're
paid Buco amounts of dollars to do? I say no,
(01:31:11):
And you got beat by one hundred and six points here,
And what about the seniors on that team?
Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
What are you saying to them when when you say, well,
I'm not even worried about the shirt anymore. The hell
with you guys? This this year's away, so you know,
do the best you can. And I'm not expecting a
whole egg of a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
Yell in fairness if you're playing when you're a senior
at Kansas, or if I get what you're saying. A
couple of out Tani texts, I guess Dave Roberts was
asked about this and he it's a cut that's been
making the rounds all day long. He basically, Hey, I'm
(01:31:48):
gonna leave that up. We'll show hey, we'll have what
he has to say on Monday, through his interpreter, mister
nobody hits us up? On Twitter, he writes, I know
only one thing about the show, Hey story rob Man
fraud will find a way to mess this up. Well,
I don't even know I from Manfred could mess this thing?
Speaker 3 (01:32:04):
Meaning what though that he's not going to punish him
or is it going to punish him? I don't understand that.
Speaker 4 (01:32:10):
Well, if you're Baseball, like you keep not you but
the Royal you. Everyone keeps talking about how this has
been investigating all this stuff. Well who's looking into it?
I mean, is it even a situation where Baseball has
been thinking that he's involved? Or do they find out
when the rest of us found out? Arnie whenever it
hits social media? In what about the start of the
(01:32:30):
first Dodgers game the other night?
Speaker 3 (01:32:33):
Morning cares. I don't think Baseball wants to investigate it.
I don't think they really care about it. I don't
think they want to push it any way whatsoever. I
think they just want to forget about the whole thing.
Bag move on bake rights.
Speaker 4 (01:32:46):
At least Michael Jordan had three championships before the league
shut him down for a year.
Speaker 3 (01:32:52):
Are we ever going to find out the truth about that.
You know what's gonna happen there. I don't think they
shut him?
Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
Are you kidding me? David Stern?
Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
Crazy?
Speaker 2 (01:33:00):
If you're like, listen, Michael, you gotta leave, you gotta
beat the heat.
Speaker 1 (01:33:03):
No way.
Speaker 4 (01:33:05):
This was an interesting thought from since you have Tennessee
in the final four, right, and you're gonna win this
bracket challenge. Yes, Scotty is a diehard Tennessee fan. He writes,
Tennessee winning in spite of these stats gives me hope
that it may finally be different.
Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
All right, you ready for these?
Speaker 3 (01:33:23):
Oh? I saw this earlier? Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (01:33:25):
Tennessee is the first team ever to win an NCAA
Tournament game while shooting less than fifteen percent from three
and less than thirty five percent overall from the field.
In the history of the NCAA Tournament, teams that shot
that poorly were OH for sixty six before Tennessee got
its win, OH for sixty.
Speaker 2 (01:33:46):
Say you say to that?
Speaker 1 (01:33:47):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:33:47):
What do you say?
Speaker 3 (01:33:48):
Okay? Now? They broke the jakeson If you can survive
something like that, you're on your way or what. I
don't know what to say to that.
Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
I don't either accept that.
Speaker 3 (01:33:56):
Geez, now they're one in sixty six.
Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
Hey, you can't shoot much more poorly then, I guess
is one way to work.
Speaker 1 (01:34:02):
Grant.
Speaker 3 (01:34:02):
I gotta tell you, Greg Canyon shot horrific today. I
mean absolutely. I don't have the numbers in front of me,
but they were at what point they started the game,
what one in twelve or or something to that effect.
I can't imagine what their shooting percentage was, but they were.
They started off absolutely horrible. Matter of fact, I got it.
Their three point line a three point shot as a
(01:34:25):
team was two of twenty. So yeah, and they shot
eighteen of fifty six overall, which is thirty two percent.
Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
Keeman won only shot thirty six percent. Yeah too.
Speaker 4 (01:34:42):
You try to tell me that was an ugly basketball game,
because I they I'm buying it right now. Uh see,
there was a few more than I wanted to get
to here. Weatherman Rights, You talk about Baylor choking at
the free throw line, blowing parlays all across America. They
had a chance, they had the free throw line to
tie the game. Dude blows two free throws. Baylor on
(01:35:03):
the game. Arnie from the free throw line finished sixteen
of twenty six. They shot sixty one percent if they
just and because he became a foul fast, they ended
up losing by eight seventy two to sixty four.
Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
Clemson got the win, but you miss ten free throws
ten well.
Speaker 3 (01:35:24):
Going back to Greg Canyon, they were twenty three or
thirty seven from the foul life they missed. They missed
fourteen foul shots. So you do the math on that one.
They missed fourteen free beats.
Speaker 4 (01:35:35):
Young Poppy Rights. I've watched every San Diego State game
this season. This has to be the most points the
Aztec scored in one half all season.
Speaker 2 (01:35:44):
Hashtag March.
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
He's probably right on that. They're usually they're not putting
that points on the board like that.
Speaker 4 (01:35:49):
Arnie, talk more about DJ Burns in North Carolina State
heading to the Sweet sixteen.
Speaker 3 (01:35:55):
What a story, right, you have a believable story.
Speaker 2 (01:35:58):
They played.
Speaker 4 (01:35:59):
So now it's eight games in like thirteen days. They
had to win the tournament to make the tournament. They
had to win the a SEC to make the NCAA tournament,
right right, and now they're in the sweet sixteen.
Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
It's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:36:12):
And they could beat Marquette if they play a good game.
Speaker 4 (01:36:16):
Bank rights with Arizona and Sweet sixteen. Arnie's insefferability must
be at a max, which it is.
Speaker 3 (01:36:21):
Agree with that. I feel good and we're the first
game on Thursday. I'm gonna have to cancel my basketball
game and tell them I can't make it so I
could watch Arizona game. I can't play basketball.
Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
Well do they even let you play? Do you do
you even get minutes?
Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
Yeah, they're forced to play me like fifteen to twenty minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:36:38):
Oh is their rules?
Speaker 3 (01:36:40):
Yeah, there's rules, there's rules. The other team's like huck
Arty's not playing. Arty's not playing. Shut up, mad, don't
worry about me playing. Worry about yourself. We were down
twenty two to two last Thursday and we came back
in one. So I feel good.
Speaker 2 (01:36:53):
Oh, how many points you have?
Speaker 3 (01:36:55):
I didn't have any points.
Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
It's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:36:57):
I did the other stuff to make us win.
Speaker 5 (01:36:59):
You did the cheer, you had everyone ready to go over.
They do the defense, the passing.
Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
That.
Speaker 4 (01:37:06):
I would have probably been more interested in watching a
live stream of your rec League game than anything from
that Tennessee Saint Peter's game. If you're John Calipari, you
gotta be watching some of these games, Like I lost
to that team couple of years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
How does that even happen?
Speaker 3 (01:37:22):
Well, there are all there, there's a different I know,
but still.
Speaker 9 (01:37:24):
I get it.
Speaker 4 (01:37:25):
I know, but still it's like and Tennessee just being
a buying one hundred all right when we come back,
I just wan go ahead.
Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
Did you think now they're going to expand the tournament
because there seems to be some some support for something
like that. I don't think I want to do that,
you know.
Speaker 2 (01:37:41):
I think they're absolutely gonna expand the tournament.
Speaker 3 (01:37:44):
No, I think that's gonna take away from some of
the charm. I don't think we're gonna get the I
don't even know what to call them anymore. What are
they gonna be like one against twenty four, two against
twenty three. I don't know what's gonna happen anymore to
these things.
Speaker 4 (01:37:56):
You know, I don't either, man. But and it's not
gonna be expanded. Get you more of the Oakland's or
the new games. No, I don't say the big conferences.
Oh absolutely, that's what they're They're they're gonna try to
get more of the like Arizona States, Oak Club, My
Sooners and that's what they happened.
Speaker 3 (01:38:15):
I thought they're gonna maybe take like, instead of just
the tournament winners, maybe if you win the conference you
get an automatic bit also.
Speaker 4 (01:38:22):
Maybe or maybe they start well, they're never going to
do away with conference tournaments because they make so much
money off of it, but maybe they do away with
conference tournament all automatic qualifiers possibility too.
Speaker 3 (01:38:33):
That's too good. That's good stuff there. I agree, that's
worthless if you do something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:38:38):
We'll see, all right when we come back to the
Tirack dot Com studios. Come on, Arnie, we've got to
have some NFL draft talk on the show tonight, all right,
And there was a little bit of buzz from the
NFL draft bus. Uh speaking of the NFL Draft, Dion
Sanders opening his mouth. That's next on Fox Sports Radio.
(01:39:01):
All right, Tarni and Plank. So you had sen me.
I think this is all under the Otani roman numeral,
which was let's see here number seven, number number seven.
Speaker 3 (01:39:15):
Thank you. Yeah, make sure I get it right.
Speaker 4 (01:39:18):
Brandon Lang commenting on the amount of sho Hey Otani's
gambling debt.
Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
Yes, I think I said a story on that. I
tweeted your textas.
Speaker 4 (01:39:28):
There was a tweet on it. Now, I don't I
gotta be honest with you, I don't know how much
of a I like Brandon Lang, but I don't know
how much of a reliable source he would be on this, right?
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):
What is he right?
Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
Well, I mean if he's saying that's something, if he's
reporting something that's not true, I'm sure they're going to
be calling him out over something like that. You know.
Speaker 4 (01:39:51):
Well, I mean, are you are you willing for me
to go over this or do you think it's too dicey?
I mean, is this a trusted source that you're sending
me on or is this another made up tweet?
Speaker 3 (01:40:02):
Well, he's What do you mean by trusted source? I
mean they did a movie about the guy, so it's
it's not like he's some guy that nobody's ever heard
of or something to that effect.
Speaker 4 (01:40:11):
Okay, Well, according to the twitter feed at Legend Sports,
Lang claims it's more than the reported four point five
million dollars. The first range he mentioned was seven million
to twenty five million dollars, and according to Lang's source,
it was likely closer to fifteen million to twenty five
(01:40:34):
million dollars. He notes were from his appearance on the
Sports Junkies podcast, He claims to have a source very
closely connected to the evolving situation.
Speaker 3 (01:40:45):
I'm not so sure that I wouldn't believe that. I mean,
when you hear about Bruno Mars, what does they say
that he owed fifty million or something to that? And
I know he makes a lot of money, Chris, but
and I'm not so sure how much I believe that.
But that's that's some serious money. And I'm not well,
that was fake. That was a fake report to the
(01:41:06):
Bruno Mars.
Speaker 4 (01:41:07):
Yeah, yeah, that's uh, Bruno Maher's astronomical gambling debt rumor false,
says MGM Grand.
Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
So he doesn't know anything. Zero yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:41:18):
News Nation reported a fifteen million dollars site fifty million dollars.
Anonymous sources claimed the singer's post tax income of one
point five million from residencies.
Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
Was largely used to pay off his debt.
Speaker 4 (01:41:35):
Fifty million. It was more like one point five Yeah.
I knew he had a debt, but which is still
a lot of money. Don't get me wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
Minimizing it, right, I agree, I agree, but not for him.
One point five millions out of a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
So is he claiming.
Speaker 4 (01:41:49):
Here's where I'm confused in this what you send me?
Is he claiming that debt is show hay or his interpreter.
I don't think he said that part. I think he's
just saying what it is. I don't think that account
is in Sho Hayes's name, is it. I can't imagine
the account would be in his name.
Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
I couldn't either.
Speaker 4 (01:42:11):
Julian Wrights, if I may say one more thing about
show Hey Otani, please the Los Angeles Dodgers are making
Major League Baseball too much money. He'll get a slap
on the wrist, his former interpreter will be the fall guy,
and everything will go on. As much as Major League
Baseball would not like to admit it, the Dodgers are
much too big of a marketing and money making machine
(01:42:34):
for the Major League.
Speaker 3 (01:42:35):
Baseball Well, Chris the as are we making too much
of this? I mean the fact the only thing is
that it was with an illegal bookie. If it was
the MGM or anything like that, there's no problem, right if.
Speaker 4 (01:42:46):
Unless it's on baseball, unless it's affecting the outcome of games.
Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
Right right, right right, But it's there's no proof of
that going.
Speaker 2 (01:42:53):
On so far right.
Speaker 4 (01:42:55):
I mean, what you know, There's been a couple of
times where I've gone to a press conference and I
didn't think anything was gonna happen, and I was floored
Eddie Sutton announcing his retirement in a press conference to go, gosh,
I think we're going back to like two.
Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
Thousand and one.
Speaker 4 (01:43:10):
I remember driving out of Stillwater in the middle of
the night, late and late night, and he has a
press conference in which he says he's stepping away because
he's gonna into rehab. Like, whoa, Okay, didn't expect that.
So maybe we get a big right hook tomorrow. I
don't expect us to. I think this will be more
of a here's what happened, here's my side of it.
(01:43:30):
I'll take a few questions.
Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
Well, I wonder if the interpreter will be there, like, yeah,
he stole my money. He's right over there, and the
guy's gonna not die. Yeah, that guy right there. Yes,
that's true, that's true. I did steal his money, And
I don't know is that, by the way, is that
part now we're just doing that part away. There's no
there's no theft, there's no massive theft or anything.
Speaker 2 (01:43:52):
Like that, have they have? They already said he I
think that's still out there.
Speaker 4 (01:43:56):
Okay, so we don't know if it was theft or
he was loaning his buddy, I need to pay back
a debt, right, It's.
Speaker 2 (01:44:01):
One of those two right now.
Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:44:05):
The only thing that we feel like is for certain
is that it's not it. Well, I shouldn't say nothing
is for certain in this, but it hasn't been. Oh
shohe has a terrible gambling problem. It's been all his interpreter.
Speaker 3 (01:44:17):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:44:18):
The Brandon Lane comments are one thing which dude, I
don't know, man. If there's certain things that when you
say them, everyone's like, oh, it's just it's just spitballing.
Speaker 2 (01:44:28):
That's something.
Speaker 4 (01:44:29):
When you're making a claim like that and you're putting
it out there, I feel like you put yourself in
a libel situation if you're throwing that out and it's
not true. I mean, you're claiming the guy has When
I say fifty million dollars in gambling debt, I don't
want to be in that kind of I don't want
to miss on that report, is what I'm trying to say.
All Right, we'll have more on show. Hey, Otani throughout
(01:44:50):
the day here on Fox Sports Radio. Obviously, Big Ben
Mallard is going to be all over it. His first
chance to react to it coming up as soon as
we're done, and then all day long press conference reactions
to it right here on Fox Sports Radio. But before
we get there, we have more tournament to talk. I
got beyond Sanders audio and we've got Steve de Seger.
What's going on, Steve, Hello again, gentlemen. By the way,
the Dodgers Sho Hao Tani is due to address the
(01:45:12):
media tomorrow. MLB Opening Day is Thursday for most teams.
Speaker 3 (01:45:15):
What time tomorrow do we know?
Speaker 1 (01:45:17):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:45:17):
I do not know tomorrow. But he's expected, according to
one of the beat writers, to be using the actual
interview room and not just be standing in front of
his locker. So that would be news.
Speaker 3 (01:45:28):
That'd be great. Oh, I said tomorrow, it's one am.
You aren't here, So I just talked to myself.

who's leaving. Debrees was on staff at Creyton also for
twenty years. Michigan officially announced its new basketball coach, Dusty
May from Florida Atlantic. We were talking earlier about the
women's second round game at two seed Stanford. The home
team wound up winning an overtime against Iowa State, but
(01:47:44):
two seed Ohio State lost Today to Duke wins for
Baylor and undefeated South Carolina. Tomorrow, the Iowa women host

(01:48:07):
tonight's wins for UNLV and VCU, and then there's the

We had four blowout victories today. Duke dominated James Madison.
Fact it was twenty four to nine after the first

Indianapolis one seed Perdue one O six sixty seven over
(01:48:29):
Utah State. As Centaer Zach eed he had twenty three
points fourteen rebounds for Purdue today. Fifteen players got into
the game.
Speaker 3 (01:48:37):
It was a blowout.
Speaker 7 (01:48:38):
Yes, and Yukon and San Diego State each one easily.
They'll face each other in Boston and the East Regional
Semis on Thursday. San Diego State eighty five fifty seven
over Yale. It was ten to nothing quickly and thirty
nine sixteen aztex And this was the Yale team that
had won the Ivy League tournament on a shot at
the buzzer to get into the NCAA's number one Connecticut
(01:49:00):
led Northwestern at the half forty to eighteen, seventy five
fifty eight the final. You were talking about the Grand
Canyon shooting. They're out even though they were only down
sixty two to sixty one to Alabama with four minutes left,
seventy two to sixty one the final because late in
the game, Grand Canyon went zero for four from the
floor with two turnovers. They had started the game three
(01:49:22):
of seventeen from the floor. Clemson beat three seed Baylors
seventy two to sixty four.
Speaker 3 (01:49:28):
We're going down.
Speaker 7 (01:49:29):
Baylor's out second round for a third straight year. Clemson
against Arizona and the Sweet sixteen in LA Thursday, seven
pm Eastern time, and there was the thriller with one
seed Houston winning in overtime tonight against Texas A and
M one hundred to ninety five, even though A and
M forced the ot with a.
Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
Three at the buzzer.
Speaker 7 (01:49:47):
Things started today with a good game Marquette over Colorado,
eighty one seventy seven. Marquette shot sixty two percent from
the floor and great news for them that they have
Tyler kollikback this weekend preseason All American at guard. He
had twenty one points today.
Speaker 3 (01:50:01):
Back to you, thanks, Steve, I have a good one,
my friend and Joy have a good one, Steve.
Speaker 9 (01:50:06):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:50:06):
Hey, by the way, the saga, did you not the
Sega h flank? Did you see that tweet.
Speaker 9 (01:50:13):
Here?
Speaker 4 (01:50:14):
I mean I could just take Sunday nights off, man,
I mean, there's no need, there's no need for me
to be here.
Speaker 3 (01:50:19):
Yeah, I just did you see the tweet? The guy,
I don't know if he follows me or maybe I
just happen to see his tweet or something like that.
He's like a couple of days ago, just out of
the blue. It's just like a normal guy. He goes,
we got a call from a major company and they
want my wife to be in a commercial that's gonna
air during the NCAA tournament. Did you did you see that?
Speaker 2 (01:50:40):
One did not go on her name.
Speaker 3 (01:50:44):
Her name was Caitlin Clark. Oh okay, And they put
her in one of those like I think it was
one of those tax commercials, and it was actually pretty funny,
and they just got her at the last minute. It
was it was pretty funny. I thought it was hysterical.
Speaker 2 (01:50:59):
So they couldn't get to the real Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 3 (01:51:01):
They got her. They got her too, they got both
of them. Yeah, yeah, so they just that was the
premise of the commercials.
Speaker 2 (01:51:07):
You know, I'm like, okay, that's great.
Speaker 4 (01:51:10):
I will not then go into the Kelvin Sampson story
about a player who died and why he was a
motivation today. He doesn't seem like a smooth transition after
that necessary Caitlyn Clark, I'm sorry, said Steve. Did you
even follow that some guy on Twitter with the tweet
his all who has the name?
Speaker 3 (01:51:30):
Who has the name? All right? I got it.
Speaker 7 (01:51:33):
By the way, My question hearing that is, do you
think the real Caitlin Clark? Pardon for calling her that,
but you know, the famous one. Is she making like
close to Bryce Young money at this point in college?
Speaker 2 (01:51:44):
Well you would think if she was, though, wouldn't she
stay in school? I mean, isn't there more? But there are?
Speaker 4 (01:51:51):
There is a point to where you're just everyone that says, boy,
you I stay in school if I had that nil money.
Here's the crazy thing. You still have to go to school,
so you still have to take classes, the homework, right,
kids take ballroom dancing like Matt Lioner did it.
Speaker 7 (01:52:08):
He only had one class for credits for graduation.
Speaker 9 (01:52:12):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:52:13):
But you still have to stay eligible. And there's all
the roles that have been challenged. I mean, eligibility hasn't
been challenging. She's staying in the Midwest, right, Indiana has
the one break. They won the draft lottery, and she
doesn't have to go to classes. She can still keep
a lot of the commercials, and she'll have a w
NBA summer salary. And theoretically, of course, some of these
(01:52:33):
stars can play elsewhere in the winter season.
Speaker 2 (01:52:36):
Right, that's true.
Speaker 3 (01:52:37):
So I'm a fan of her dad who told her
to stop crying. Did you see that when he was
telling her to stop That was awesome.
Speaker 4 (01:52:46):
I've seen There's been more Caitlin Clark features and pieces
than I've ever seen in my life on anyone anywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
She has her own beat reporter, Holly Rowe is following
her around. Essentially, it's like the beat reporter for Lebron
years ago.
Speaker 4 (01:53:01):
Yeah, Windhorse, I mean, we have Brian Windhorse and Lebron
and we got Holly Row and Caitlin Clark. I guess
right now, A great job tonight, Steve. When we come back,
we'll get to what everyone was waiting for. It's Arnie's picks.
Next on Fox Sports Radio, all right, fun show tonight
as great job, yeah, actually really fast show all the
(01:53:22):
way around. Patrick Money producing the show, thanks to Todd
Furman and Mary on the ones and twoes, and as
always de Sager on updates.
Speaker 2 (01:53:30):
Before Arnie makes his picks.
Speaker 4 (01:53:33):
Kelvin Samson talked about the motivation for Houston tonight.
Speaker 10 (01:53:37):
You know, we lost four starters from last year's team,
Jars Walker, Marcus Sessser from my Mark, and then a
special guy in Reggie Cheney. And I hadn't mentioned Reggie
other than when we watched him on film, but I
brought Reggie up at halftime.
Speaker 3 (01:53:57):
I said, did what would Reggie do? Jay One? What
would Reggie do? J Vier?
Speaker 10 (01:54:03):
Because I didn't think either one of those guys played
very good the first half. So I had something about Reggie,
and as soon as I said it, at the court
of my eye, I saw Jamal got really emotional, Ramon
got really emotional, So.
Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
That one was for big Wrech.
Speaker 4 (01:54:27):
Reggie Cheney died of fentanyl poisoning, and it was a
story that to be honest, I know we hear every
single story that there is whenever it comes to like
college basketball. I don't know if I had heard that one.
Speaker 3 (01:54:43):
No, I didn't not was not aware of that.
Speaker 4 (01:54:45):
I'm se Yeah, it happened, and in fact, it was
only in November he had passed away. He was just
twenty three years old. So a terrible tragedy that Kelvin
Sampson found that right moment to say, you know what,
what would reg do in this situation?
Speaker 2 (01:55:04):
And it worked.
Speaker 3 (01:55:05):
It worked, so coach I like him.
Speaker 4 (01:55:07):
Kudos to Kelvin Samson back in the sweet sixteen after
a game that they had no business being in that close.
Speaker 3 (01:55:13):
Wow, Yeah, they blew the ending there. They should never
have given up a three point shot. All right.
Speaker 4 (01:55:19):
I know that he's not in the upper echelon of
the pit contest right Sports Radio dot Com, but we
still we still have his pick segment because he demands it.
Speaker 2 (01:55:29):
So it's time for Arnie's picks. Take it away, stinking genius.
Speaker 3 (01:55:32):
Give me a little music, Put me in the mood.
We're in the Sweet sixteen and eight lovely games on
Thursday and Friday. I'm all over Illinois plus the two
against Iowa State. I think Illinois is ready to play
their best basketball now. They've played well all year, but
they're ready to turn it up a notch. This is
(01:55:53):
gonna be a good game, Chris. I like this game
a lot, probably more than one of the underrated games.
But I'll take Illinois plus the two. I woulda take
Yukon lay and ten against San Diego State in that rematch.
Look all respect to san Diego State. This shoot on
team may be better than last year. They could just
pick their own score. They're just too tough offensively. They're
(01:56:16):
all over San Diego State. I can't believe the over
under is only one thirty four. Should probably take the
over on that. Give me North Carolina minus the four
against Alabama, especially if Alabama shoots like they did tonight.
By the way, the over onder on that one Chris
won seventy three and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:56:35):
Oh, that's a huge number. That is a big number there.
Speaker 3 (01:56:39):
I wouldna take Arizona lay in seven against Clemson. My Wildcats.
We'll get the win and then we'll take on I'm
hoping Alabama and probably North Carolina. I'm jumping on the
Gonzaga bandwagon. Plus four and a half against Purdue. Good
matchup there for Gonzaga. Gibbie Creighton plus two and a
half against Tennis, even though I have Tennessee in the
(01:57:02):
championship game. I would take cred plus the two and
a half points. I'm on mark Ed minus six and
a half against NC State and give me Duke plus
the four against Houston. So there you have my picks.
Do with them as you please, no longer strictly for
entertainment purposes only.
Speaker 4 (01:57:18):
Though Arnie doesn't bet on his own pick, so maybe
proceed with caution, just saying bet.
Speaker 3 (01:57:25):
In Arizona this week. That's are you really are you going?
Speaker 2 (01:57:28):
Are you going with the spread or are you going
with the money line?
Speaker 3 (01:57:32):
Forget the money line when they're laying seven, no value
and that just lay the seven. You're gonna lay seven
against Clemson, We're gonna kick their ass. Stop it, Come on,
Dabu Sweeney won't know what to do.
Speaker 2 (01:57:44):
That's right, all right? There is one story that I
wanted to get to.
Speaker 3 (01:57:49):
Know somebody's listening, like he not even the basketball coaching idiot.
Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
Well, you had to google up who the basketball coach was,
which who.
Speaker 3 (01:57:57):
Wasn't Davos Sweeney?
Speaker 4 (01:57:58):
But go ahead, I hope you did. How about this
is my favorite quote from the weekend. Dion Sanders was
on one of the eight thousand podcasts that's out there
right now that he does and uh, well, I'll leave
the question in here so you can get a little
perspective on how Dion is getting ready to handle his
son's impending move to the NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:58:19):
You predict, shootdren Traff is going in the draft top four.
Speaker 9 (01:58:25):
That's pretty beautiful anywhere from one through four. One of
them is gonna be one, and the latter one would
not go behind four. I know where I won't kind
of want them to go.
Speaker 3 (01:58:35):
So it's certain.
Speaker 9 (01:58:35):
Cities that he ain't gonna happen. It's okay, you point
it's gonna be It's not. I'm sorry, it's gonna be
an Eli.
Speaker 4 (01:58:41):
So we still have another season for both of these
guys to play in college. Dion, who has already come
out and said he doesn't doing home visits and he's
not recruiting. Essentially, now he's already calling his shot already
for his son to pull in Eli right and demand
not to go to a certain point.
Speaker 3 (01:58:58):
What does that Mary, Travis that he'll sit out or
they'll go back to college or what? What exactly is
he threatening?
Speaker 4 (01:59:05):
He just threatening that they won't go there. That's what
he's threatening. I mean, remember when Eli did want to
go to the Chargers. That's exactly what he's saying.
Speaker 3 (01:59:15):
Good luck to him.
Speaker 4 (01:59:15):
Then, you know, I still say Deon Sanders saying that
I can't recruit like other coaches because I'm coach prime
might have been my favorite cut in the week.
Speaker 2 (01:59:25):
Him saying that his he already knows where he wants
his kids to go.
Speaker 4 (01:59:30):
And by kids, I'm throwing Travis Hunter and there right
right right, and that they're going to be two of
the top four picks in the draft, which could be right.
I mean, there's there's other good quarterbacks. Carson Back is
a good quarterback that's going to be drafted eligible next year.
Speaker 5 (01:59:43):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:59:44):
I'm kind of surprised of all the things, Aren'tie that
we've seen lose in court? No one's no one's been
able to challenge or beat the draft eligibility three year rule.
Whether does that raise any red flags if you're thinking
about shandor Sanders, or knowing that his dad's Dion and
the success that he had in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
I know what his dad is doing. I know exactly
what his dad is doing.
Speaker 2 (02:00:04):
Angling to get him to Miami. Is now what you're thinking,
no to.
Speaker 3 (02:00:07):
The Dallas Cowboys take over for Dak?
Speaker 2 (02:00:10):
Well, Dak's got a pretty hefty long term contract, right.
Speaker 3 (02:00:13):
How many more years does he have left? I think
it's at least four? How many, Chris at least four? Okay,
so you take chadure what two years from now, right,
and then you just send them one year early and
should distance one year on the bench. That's all.
Speaker 4 (02:00:30):
So you think there's no ability to tag Dak in
twenty twenty five, and it doesn't look like they're going.
Speaker 2 (02:00:36):
To extend his deal.
Speaker 3 (02:00:38):
No, they won't extend it.
Speaker 2 (02:00:39):
So you're just in, how are they going to get
a top three pick?
Speaker 3 (02:00:43):
Or that's a problem. Yeah, that's a problem there. Yeah. Oh,
Dion's got to figure that part out. I can't figure
everything out.
Speaker 4 (02:00:50):
Listen, Dan, if you want him in Dallas, it's going
to involve the Cowboys tanking in twenty twenty four. Yeah, hey,
have a good week, Good luck to your wild cat
tonight stick around. Big Ben Maller is coming up next,
and obviously we're gonna have you covered all day long
with shohe Otani's press conference tomorrow until next Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (02:01:10):
Have a great week.
Speaker 4 (02:01:11):
Everybody, find the UH find the podcast as soon as
we're done search Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (02:01:16):
See you next Sunday.
