Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh let's go. Good afternoon, everybody. Were broadcasting live from
the tire rack dot Com studios. Tyreck dot Com. Up

bank Chris Pike, Ardie Spanner, our buddy Steve. The Saga

(00:27):
all part of Super Bowl fifty nine coverage. How you
doing today? The Saga? Another year in the books and
less than an hour before kickoff? How you doing much?
I cannot wait all week.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
I've been trying not to leave the game in the
locker room, so to speak, and not get to hype.
Now this afternoon, we're almost here, and in the next
half hour we're getting to the pregame stuff that Fox
TV is gonna show. I cannot wait. And this is
such a great matchup, not only because Kansas City's won
two Super Bowls in a row. Philadelphia had the best
defense in the NFL this year. Philadelphia has an elite

(01:01):
offensive line. They had the best running back in the
NFL this year. We've seen the strength and the health
now of Jalen Hurts and the threat he is to
run this defense of Philly, not only with Fangio as coordinator.
Now it is so much different than the defense Kansas
City faced a couple of years ago in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
All right, I want to pack up. First thing. I
noticed that when did this change? And maybe it changed
a long time ago, Steve and I just didn't notice,
and that could happen. I'm you know, some things just
get right by me. I always thought kickoff was a
twenty past the hour or thirty past the hour. When
did we move with the forty past the hour? Now?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
It was originally six eighteen for some years, and then
it never actually kicked off at eighteen. After and then
they started telling people six thirty, and now it never
kicks off at six thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
No, now what's six forty? There we have right now,
Chris Plank. If you're asking where he is, he's in
the route. He was on the Fox Sports radio jet
from Oklahoma landed a little bit late, so he travels
first class. Limousine was late picking him up. But he's here.
He's here, and he will join us.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Actually, the more realistic explanation is he's getting to know
firsthand the Los Angeles freeways as we speak. I am
so excited he's going to be in studio for a
Sunday night show this evening.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
We always ask this question, who's driving around in Los
Angeles on Super Bowl Sunday where there's so much traffic
like that there?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Right, it is right. I think people are going to parties. Honestly,
it's right. It's the hour or two before kickoff because
it's not going to be like this during the game.
They're going to have We've talked about ratings a lot
on this Sunday night show. Yeah, they're expecting way more
than one hundred million viewers for this, And in fact,
the way they do the Nielsen ratings now is a
little different than it had been done historically because for

(02:46):
decades they didn't take into account people that, like sports fans,
are watching it at a restaurant or a bar, or
a hotel or something like that. It was really home
viewing is what they were giving the rating for. Now
they have something to at least make an educated guest
to add numbers. And so now this today, for example,
like last year, it's gonna be way over a hundred

(03:07):
million total.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yes, but you know, we've heard about major corporations pulling
out their Super Bowl ads because they felt that there
was going to be I don't know, maybe a decline
in ratings. We've we've heard about how people were gonna
boycott the games because of good officials out there.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
I was actually on with Fox Sports New Zealand earlier
today and the first thing they asked me was, where's
the buzz. We're not getting a lot of buzz for
the Super Bowl. And of course a lot probably has
to do least on the West Coast with the NBA
trades and Luca Sure for them, Yeah, that was a
great week for them out of here on the East
even though the trade was big, even the Super Bowl

(03:45):
did take a back seat. There is there a lack
of Super Bowl bus. I assume on the West Coast
it was nothing but Luca and the Lakers at all
NBA talk.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
And the NBA ratings for the tn T games Thursday
and Tuesday were each up compared to the bad ratings
been getting during the regular season. So yeah, it took
away some of the buzz if you want to use
that word, from super Bowl week. And also, nobody got
crazy at Super Bowl Media Day, which is now the
Monday of Super Bowl Week. But still the money is there,

(04:15):
and the thirty second slots, the prime slots during the
broadcast were selling for over seven million dollars for the
Fox broadcast today. So it's not like anybody's hurting things
are going to go well today, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Now, I did hear that a seat somebody bought a
seat for fourteen six hundred dollars, fourteen to five whatever
it is. That same seat today earlier was about six
thousand dollars. Maybe it was a two day different, maybe
it was a two days.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
I saw some upper level seats going into the weekend
that were under four thousand dollars plus fas Wow, and
that's it was what six as soon as we were
on the air a couple weeks ago when the conference
championships ended. So it has come down a bit. But
my goodness, are there a lot of fans all week long?
When you would see people through the Bourbon Street for example,
we saw it on the pregame show today not only

(05:04):
a lot of Eagles fans, but just fans, I mean
clad in their team's jerseys, not just these two teams.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
And did you see the prices of the hotels in
Las Vegas really thirty nine dollars for a room. There
was like a dozen hotels well ninety nine dollars in less,
you know how it is with Vegas.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Then they add the resort fee, which is another forty
nine dollars, whether you're actually using the gym or not.
But I can update that inside and keep in mind,
we do have an indoor Super Bowl taking place at
the super Dome. Inside, they've got some of the ceremony
going on already. They had some singing outside and now
they've gone with college band. Of course in New Orleans,

(05:42):
they're going to go with Southern University Band and they're
on the field playing as we speak. The referee we're
gonna get for the Super Bowl today is Ron Torboard,
who also ran Super Bowl fifty six in recent years.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Does he have special teams for the Chiefs. No, No,
I'm sorry, that's just a joke that it's just.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
A teas Michigan State. For the record, but he's worked
in the NFL about fifteen years and almost fifteen postseason assignments.
He was a Big ten rep four years, hired by
the NFL in twenty ten and he's running this crew.
And keep in mind the entire Super Bowl officiating crew,
they're strangers to each other in the sense, this is
an all star crew once we get to this level.

(06:20):
And in fact, this officiating crew, today's guys in stripes
did not work in the divisional round, which is new
the umpire though for example, Mike Morton did just work
the NFC Championship game. So I don't mean to apply
they have no experience. But Super Bowl assignments are awarded
based on your highest grades at your referee or back
judge or whatever your position is. So this whole crew

(06:42):
we're going to see today was not together all season.
This is an all star crew that umpire for today
that I mentioned. He's an ex linebacker from North Carolina,
So he becomes the first NFL official also to officiate
a Super Bowl who also won a Super Bowl as
a player because he was a reserve life linebacker for
the Saint Louis Rams about twenty five years ago.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Do you hear the noise then if you're the officials, like,
although you know the noise about how the officials are,
absolutely they do, yes, So does that change your It
can't change your thinking. You can't go with shot now.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Even like hearing Gene Sterator on radio pregame, it bothered
him on a personal level as a former official, that
this became a storyline.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
And I would add, and we.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Talked about this two weeks ago on the show, right
after Buffalo lost the AFC title game. The larger problem
with say, spotting the football after the fourth and one
that was controversial is not that it goes in the
Chiefs favor. It didn't really matter who was on the field.
The problem is the NFL's not getting into the modern
age in that area of technology and how random and

(07:48):
haphazard spotting the football is, or finding the football in
a quarterback sneak pile. These are all things that need
to be taken care of by the league, separate from
any Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
You know, Steve, Maybe I don't know what I was
hoping somebody was going to ask the commissioner of this
because I was thinking about this the technology, do do it?
Does the NFL have like a separate office for like
NFL Technology where they have a bunch of twenty two
year old radiacs working out or do they try to
is anybody working on this technology there like a separate
part of the NFL.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Or what they have told us that it has to
do with technology currently can tell them when the ball, say,
stops right, but they can't match it up at current
point with the video.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Who's working on this technology? Mit? Who's work is that?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Like the Yeah, I wish I knew the name. There
is a department that falls under Yeah, absolutely there is.
And by the way, you mentioned the commissioner not getting
certain questions, you have to be say ticketed, to be
able to get into the commissioner's news conference. You need
a second credential to get into that because a guy
from NFL Network in the last couple of years was

(08:54):
actually asking pointed questions and I'm trying to league did
not like that, so they don't. Even if you have
a credential for the actual game today, that doesn't mean
necessarily you can talk to the commissioner on Monday when
Super Bowl Week starts.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
All right, Steve the Sager, Arnie Spanier, Chris pink On
the way, is there Kansas City fatigue? That was the
question asked over the last two weeks, So we'll put
that to rest. Is there a lot of fatigue on
prep forw're seeing what we didn't see what we saw
with the New England Patriots. But this is a history
in the making. We're going for a three peet. There
really shouldn't be Kansas City fatigue. We should be, you know,

(09:29):
trying to embrace the greatness going on right now.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yeah, and it comes without some of the baggage that
the Kansas City the New England greatness came with, right
because you haven't had suspensions and draft pick taken away
and finding the coach, and you haven't had the cheating
scandals plural that you had with the New England regime
here with Andy Reid's crew. So I understand the fatigue part,
and I'm sure in any sport that's natural, But to

(09:54):
actually make Philadelphia and underdog, oh, that's root for them.
This is gonna be the only time in their lives
that Philadelphia is going to be regarded as that, and
that a neutral fan will say, well, I'll go ahead
and root for Philly because that's one of the biggest
cities in the country and that's one of the fan
bases that people tend to avoid. Let's be honest. But
when you're Kansas City and you've won your division nine

(10:16):
straight years and you've been to the AFC Championship gown
now seven straight years. Yeah, I can see why people
think that. By the way, New England with the record
being at a conference title game eight straight years through
twenty eighteen.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
You know, obviously it helps when you have a great
quarterback like Mahomes, when you have a Tom Brady. But
why do we keep saying it's all about the quarterback
when Philadelphia and Jalen Hurts, who's a good quarterback, But
let's be honest, he's not gonna put up the big statistics,
oh like you see in you know, the top ten
passing or the top ten yardage or anything like that.

(10:49):
So you don't need to have a great quarterback. You
just need to have a good quarterback there.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
And don't turn it over. Because with Jalen Hurts and
he had the game of his life a couple of
years ago in the Super Bowl, they would have won
the game if he dropped the ball for that fumble
in the first half. It was picked up and returned
for a KC touchdown and they won at the end.
That was a massive play in the game as it
turned out. So just don't turn it at typical of
most football games, the turnover actually means something. And so

(11:14):
when you add Patrick Mahomes with experience and he usually
doesn't shoot himself in the foot, this is yet another
thing in Kansas City's advantage. We talked about on a
previous Sunday Night show how this roster for Philadelphia is better.
Philadelphia should win this game tonight. I mentioned at the
start of this segment the plus is for this team.
And yet if it's close in the fourth quarter, honestly,

(11:37):
who's going to bet against Patrick Mahomes what they have
done just this season? This is what twelve thirteen times
they've won by single digits this season. That includes the
AFC Championship game, which they won on a late field goal.
This is already a record most such wins in a
single season by any team in the NFL's history. Regular season,
in playoffs, close games, they take it.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
By the way, is Mahomes just one and away from
tying or surpassing Brady or whatever word is.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Yeah, as far as playoffs, he's.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Going just as far as greatness. How about that?

Speaker 3 (12:08):
No, because his career he's still in his twenties, so no,
But as far as tying a record. He's won nine
straight playoff games, right, and he's been incredible in those games,
only eight interceptions in those nine straight wins compared to
forty three touchdown passes. So overall in his playoff career
he's seventeen and three, which is insane. But to win

(12:28):
nine playoff games in a row and go for a ten,
that's really pretty crazy. Because Tom Brady, of course had
the record streak about twenty years ago. In fact, even
regular season from homes. You know, if he wins Opening
Day next year, his regular season win loss record will
be ninety and twenty three. Oh geez, that's how phenomenal
the start has been to his career, and not nearly

(12:49):
the end of his career.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Right.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
He's Steve the Sega of Arnie Spaniel Chris Plank on
the ways Super Bowl fifty nine coverage. They'll be kicking
off at about what twenty five minutes? Steve? Is that
about there? Sixty?

Speaker 3 (13:00):
I wouldn't bet on it for all you and your wagers.
I think the actual start time, the actual time that
a foot hits the football for a kickoff, I think
nobody knows.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Yeah, this is what's gonna be last year it was long.
We we just got off the air after five hours
over time. Yeah, and the game was wrapping up right
as we get to the game. Now, what if you're Philadelphia,
the same as what got you here? You're gonna run
Saquon Barkley a lot. You're gonna go ahead and you're
gonna run Jalen Hurts a lot too by surprising them.
You really shouldn't. You gotta protect the ball, and I'm

(13:33):
not kicking field goals. I'm not punning if it's fourth
and one, I got to show that I want to
win this. I can't give the ball to Kansas City.
I got to keep Mahomes off the field, and kicking
field goals isn't going to cut it for me. I'm
going on fourth and one and fourth and two instead
of kicking field goals. Is that what we're pretty much
gonna see or what.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
I do expect to see that from Philadelphia? I do
like what I've seen in an Andy Reid approach in
prior games, where he just keeps stacking at points and
eventually you don't have empty possessions and you keep little
by little assuming that your offense will still be close
enough to the red zone to get another three next time,
and another three later and pile up. Because in our era,

(14:12):
we're old enough to remember when back in the eighties
the Super Bowl was like not a good game every
year and the AFC kept getting killed. Now we're spoiled
the last twenty twenty five years. How great these Super
Bowls have been, not just last year, it's almost year
after year. The notable exception of you remember when it
was Jared Goff and the Rams against New England. It

(14:32):
was three to three mid fourth quarter. That is a
notable exception. But when we've got these two teams which
are not just elite from the regular season, but making
this kind of run in the playoffs, and I mentioned
the overall records they had this year, we assume it's
going to be close in the fourth quarter, and these
two defenses are good enough all season long to make
it close fourth quarter, I would say that you can't personally,

(14:56):
if I were coached, I would say, I can't make
this decision of always going for it on fourth and
short before I actually see how the flow of the
game is going.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
You get you kind of give me the feeling that
you're think it's going to be a lower scoring game
than the overr on the because I think it's going
to go over the amount. I actually got it go
in overtime, but that's beside the point. You got it.
You're talking defense. You got at a lower scoring game
or watch these.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Yeah, some people are saying like twenty seven to twenty
foursh is roughly what the total would be. I remember
it was thirty eight thirty five a couple of years ago.
I don't expect it to be that high scoring at all, because,
as mentioned earlier, this is a different Philadelphia defense than
two years ago. I think it's eight guys they've switched
out as far as defensive starters compared to two years ago.

(15:41):
They drafted two corners in the first two rounds I
think this past year, and both wound up playing excellent
for them, and they added Zach BONWD at linebacker and
Carter at nose tackle. This is such a better defense
that Philadelphia has this year than two years ago. So
I don't at all expect to see thirty eight thirty
five again.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
And of course the big prediction, You've not brought this up,
so I'm gonna have to bring it up. Steve. I
was waiting for you to bring it up, give it
to him. Does Travis Kelsey propose to Taylor Swift at
the end of the game, But if they win, of course,
if you lose, you're not going to do that. Forget
about that.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Well, not unless he has some pre arranged reality TV
show contract to do so. Because it's been mentioned this week,
if this is his last NFL game, Yes, part of
the reason would be not just because he's older in physicals,
a football sport and all of that, it's because he
like his brother, can make more money outside of football
than they're currently making in football. That's how marketable these

(16:35):
guys have gotten. And as we speak, Kansas City Chiefs
are starting to come on the field. We've still got
three songs to go in pregame. We're nowhere close to kickoff.
But I'm saying, guys in white jerseys, which would be
the Chiefs, are headed on the field. And by the way,
the reason the Chiefs are wearing the white jerseys is
because it's the NFC's team, as quote home team and

(16:57):
therefore as designated home team, philadel you had the choice
and they chose the green jerseys. For what it's worth,
Kansas City's wearing white and sixteen at the last twenty
Super Bowl champions did wear white. Some people wanted to
see Philadelphia wear the alternate jerseys. You can't do that.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
It can't do that.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
It's your regular jersey in the Super Bowl. So no
Kelly Green, just dark green and the Eagles lined up
and getting ready to come out. Yeah, because there are
some good looking alternate jerseys out there, but the NFL no.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Just scanning the you know, it's tough to tell, though, Steve,
it does seem that a lot of the fans there
are more Kansas City than Philadelphia fans. Are am I
wrong on that?

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Apparently during the week, which is not all ticket holders,
but during the week in town it was more Philadelphia
than case. But it was according to our Dan Byer,
who's still there and at the game tonight, it was
closer to fifty to fifty than he thought. Maybe the
Eagles fans are just louder, but they were, yes, well represented,
But it wasn't like some sort of seventy to thirty

(17:57):
split in ratio. No, and Philadelphia is taking the all right.

Speaker 2 (18:01):

All right, good afternoon, everybody, Welcome to Fox Sports Radio
Super Bowl fifty nine coverage. Chris Plankcarney Spaniards, Steve the
Saga Here. Matter of fact, we're getting you ready for kickoff.
Before we get there, though, let's check in with Steve
the Saga. See what's trending? What what do we have
out there?

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Steve, Well, we just had America the Beautiful and now
the presentation of Colors has mentioned there are a couple
songs still to go, so we've got, let's guess, fifteen
minutes until kickoff of Super Bowl fifty nine on Fox TV.
It'll be the Chief seventeen and two against the Eagles
seventeen and three. We did have three NBA games today
at Milwaukee, Damian Lillard forty three points as the Bucks

(19:31):
beat Philadelphia one thirty five one twenty seven. Jannis Antennacumpo
of Milwaukee will now be out through the All Star
breaks or calf the problem. By the way, NBA All
Star Saturday Night is this coming weekend that will include
Damian Lillard in the three point contest, the two time
defending champ. It's next Sunday in San Francisco. The NBA
All Star Game comes upon us at Houston today, the

(19:53):
Rockets ended a six game losing streak beating Toronto ninety
four eighty seven, but Rockets All Star center out in
Shanngoon left with a bad back. At Detroit, a triple
double for Kid Cunningham and a win over Charlotte one
twelve to one oh two. College hoops seventeenth rank Memphis
beat Temple, eighteenth ranked Maryland over Rutgers. Just two NHL games,

(20:14):
Utah won in a shootout at Washington. Tampa Bay won
its game at Montreal. Keyk Hernandez says he is re
signing with the Dodgers. Thomas Detri won the Phoenix Open
by seven strokes, And if you saw the Jay Glazer
report on Fox pregame today, the Jets are moving on
from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He met with the team this
past week. And the forty nine ers have granted wide

(20:35):
receiver Deebo Samuel permission to seek a trade. National anthem
going on in New Orleans inhors for Super Bowl fifty nine.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Back to you, still about eleven minutes left before kickoff.
I want to get right to our guests joining us now.
NFL Insider, you check him out every week at this time.
It's our buddy, Adam Kaplan. Adam, was this a hard
or easy game for you to handicap when it was
all said and done? Actually difficult.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
I just got back from New Orleans. In my office,
I'll watch the game, arn'tie, And I got to be
honest with you, it is probably split. I probably talked
to over fifty current and former players and the sentiment.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Was a little bit towards Philly.

Speaker 5 (21:11):
That by that and that spread it was as of
an hour ago, was still one and a half. That
was the opening line, which talked to some handicappers are
there and lines makers like never happens that it did move.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
I think it's a tight game.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
I do believe the odds makers have this one correct.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Was there anything you did a one to eighty about
whether it was who you picked or the over under,
or how you think things will develop during the game,
anything you change your mind on.

Speaker 5 (21:35):
No, I'd picked so on the record, I have at
Philly twenty seven to twenty four, and that would be
the over.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Though. I think it's really close, you know. It's what's
fascinating is.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Depending on which book you look at, the number has
dropped it open in fifty and a half, it's down
to forty.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Eight and a half.

Speaker 5 (21:52):
Wow, which would tell you that a lot of people
think that there's not going to be as many points
scored despite all the talent on offense. It's simply because
of how great the defense has played. The Eagles have
the number one defense statistically by NFL Metrics, and the
Chiefs have an excellent defense which has improved steadily so
and they have also the experience from two years ago

(22:14):
where the Eagles have made a number of changes on defense.
It's almost a brand new defense. So it's a fascinating game,
it really is. You know, where the Eagles blew that
first half lead. I think this game is very, very even.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
All right, what do you do about not stopping Mahomes
but at least slow him down? Do you still go
ahead and blitz him even though you know he picks
apart the blitz. I just can't let him sit back
there and let him pick me apart if I don't
put pressure on him though.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Yeah, already see the vic Fangio and the Eagles were
running the Fangio defense for the first three years under
Nick Syrey got and they're actually running it with the
real Fangio. He blitzes about twenty five percent of the time,
bottom five blitzing team.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
They just they don't do it.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
They're the zone defense, mostly very little man coverage. They're
very disciplined. Nobody gives up fewer explosive plays and this
one they don't. They just don't give up plays over
their head, so they don't think they have to they're
about timeless of blitzing. What you're going to see is
what we call sim pressure to where they look like
they're bringing six but they drop two. You're gonna see

(23:13):
a lot of that. You're gonna see a lot of
stunts in this game. That's really what Eagles do. No,
they're just not gonna blitz.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
They do that.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
But one of the reasons in this game you don't
have to. You should have to. It's a left side
of the line. Remember it's been it's been changed here.
Their left guard is gonna move Joe Tony again to
left tackle, and Mike Caliendo should not really be playing.
He's not a very good player. He's going to be
their left guard. That's a matchup to watch early in
this game. When the Eagles drop back when they actually

(23:40):
are on defense, can they make Patrick Mahomes move off.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
The spot sold off the offensively. I know Hurts ran
the ball like ten times and Saquad Barkley only fifteen times. One.
I think he's gonna have to run the ball more
than fifteen times. Two. I get a feeling Jalen Hurts
is going to run the ball about ten times. Also,
he's gonna like he has the big plays on his own.

Speaker 5 (24:02):
Yeah, and Arnie he looked he came he came off
of that knee injury that he had in week fifteen.
He looked really good. Uh it was actually situation where
he was going to the sideline and he hurt his
left knee and he's fine. He actually looked really good.
Aj Brown really looked good. And we should mention for
the Chiefs. They're healthy, all their play all their key

(24:22):
players are available. So that's the good thing about this game.
Injuries should not play a factor.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
All right, Well, what about coaching wise, is does Reed
have a big advantage over Sirianni or not? Really does
it make an events at this point, I like that Andy.

Speaker 5 (24:37):
He he coached the one in five with the Eagles.
It was at the four season five Super Bowl. They
did lose that game in Jacksonville where they also had
the lead. Then all the success that he's had with
the Chiefs, and you know, this revenge factor for Andy,
it's kind of gone by the way. You know, obviously
he had it in the first one where he was
fired in Philly, but they were able to come back
and win that game. And this game is I could

(24:58):
tell you there wasn't the Phil There wasn't the Andy
Reid drama that was the biggest story two years ago
in Phoenix. It's really been. It was a non story
in New Orleans this week. Surprisingly enough.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Wow, Wow, I'm curious to see what's gonna happen. We're
gonna get you ready for kickoffs, so Adam, always a pleasure,
my friend. Appreciate it. Enjoy the game, all right?

Speaker 6 (25:16):
Got thank you?

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Take care, Adam Kaplin, the NFL Insider. We'll come back.
We'll get you ready for kickoff Super Bowl fifty nine
right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot Com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
All right, we are live at the Tyreck dot com studios.
Chris Pike, Garney Spaniards, Steve the Sager your favorite gets
You're ready for kickoff? Is my fave? What are you
kidd me?

Speaker 6 (25:46):
Do you even know what the song is called?

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Of course I do? What else? Listen to it on
my eight track? Why wait to the studio? I have
no idea?

Speaker 6 (25:53):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (25:54):
I have no idea, zero idea on.

Speaker 7 (25:56):
This Lloyd, It's Squabba up by Ketcha Golman, play all
Kenchrick Glamid the rest of this game.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
That was gonna be my first guess.

Speaker 6 (26:03):
I told you before the show started.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Steve the Sager.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
We're getting closer to the kickoff.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Yes, we are. The over under on the national anthem
was two minutes. I heard the official number was two
minutes and one second.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
Team all really fifty four. All three songs have been sung.
The pre recorded Tom Cruise Open is playing on Fox TV.
We've had the coin toss. We are getting closer to
an actual kickoff, and I will say Kansas City, as
the visitors got a chance to call Cold Tales, won
the toss. They will kick off the Philadelphia Tales. We'll

(26:41):
have the ball first.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Keep in mind how the Eagles did in first quarters
this year. The answer is awful. In the first seven
games of the season, they actually went scoreless in every
first quarter, which hadn't happened to any team in over
thirty years. Through Week fourteen, Philadelphia was dead last in
the with how many first quarter points they had. They
had seventeen total first quarter points three fourteen. Now they

(27:06):
finally turned it around. So maybe they're on a roll
and things will look great on the first dride. But
I wonder if Kansas City, knowing they'd be the ones
as visitors calling the coin. I wonder if they thought,
you know what, we've seen so many games from them
this year where they can't do anything early. I wonder
if we should just give them the ball first. And
now at six forty two Eastern time, they've just kicked

(27:28):
off super Bowl fifty nine.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Oh look at your I think you were about like
ten seconds ahead of me. So you that's good for
all of us. Yes, you'll get to go ahead and
spoil it for me. But as you mentioned, it is
kickoff super Bowl fifty nine on the way. So if
you bet on the Super Bowl with all its props,
and the first thing you bet on was the opening
kickoff going to be a touchback or not? The answer

(27:50):
is yes, it was a touchback. So that was like
minus three and a half.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
That seems likely, doesn't it It does.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
That's why the odds were so overwhelming on that it
was going to go ahead and be a touchback. All right,
Philadelphia will get the ball first. What do you do?
Is it just businesses? Normal? Hand? The ball off. Yes,
I the Saquon.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
Absolutely, yes, do not abandon the run. We've got Saquon
Barkley in the backfield. They've got to give it to
him the first play and as we speak, hand off
to Barkley and he gets about four yards, so it'll
be second and six Philadelphia. I know, even if you
fall behind, I know it's tempting to go in another direction.
Realize who you are, Realize what you have.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
I also think that Jalen Hurts will to pull the
ball back from Barkley a couple of times just to
go ahead and play it honesty. They can't just keon Barkley.
You've got to make it work. I'm gonna make you
pay it. Pay for that, and you know, maybe run
it and sweep and you know, catch him, catch Kansas
City on their toes and.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
He's a legitimate threat himself as a running quarterback. This
is perfect for the Philadelphia offense. But absolutely keep giving
it to Barkley until they can stop it. You could
get a first down on this, find a way second
down they do, throw first down completion for Philly to
Devonte Smith Sacred.

Speaker 8 (29:07):
Be careful given too much play by the play, you know,
how Arnie gets Yeah, by the way, in Super Bowls
were on this late, Arnie, the Chiefs are one to zero.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
So I don't know if you want to I don't
know if you want to take that into consideration.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Why do I take everything they kill?

Speaker 3 (29:21):
For those who didn't hear our show a couple of
weeks ago, let's emphasize because I heard people saying it
again incorrectly this week. Yes, Kansas City has won the
last two Super Bowls. There have been teams to win
three straight championships before. People. If you're talking with words
like ever and all time, know what those words mean.
That means the whole history of the NFL. That means

(29:43):
Vince Lombardi, who, by the way, they named the super
Bowl Trophy four. Vince Lombardi had a Packers team in
the nineteen sixties that won three straight championships. It's just
that the first title. They hadn't invented the super Bowl yet.
But as we mentioned on the show, before, they slaughtered
the Chiefs in Super Bowl one, they slaughtered the Raiders

(30:04):
in super Bowl two. I'm guessing if they had invented
the super Bowl one year earlier, they probably would have
won that as.

Speaker 8 (30:11):
Well, what do you think, Arney so far about the
way the Eagles are moving the football?

Speaker 2 (30:15):
I see Kansas City definitely keying in on Saquon Barkley
even though he's picking up three and four yards. Like
I mentioned earlier, Jalen Hurts is gonna have to pull
the ball back and kind of scare them and make
them play on his defense. So they can't just you know,
key in on Barkley and get a big chunk and say, Okay,
we can't. We gotta worry about him. I don't know
if they have a spy defensively, so we'll see what happens.

(30:37):
The first time Jalen Hurs decides to run.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Philly was approaching midfield guys, and on the last screen
pass to Saquon Barkley, excellent tackle by Nick Bolton. So
that sets up third and eleven for Philly at their
own forty one.

Speaker 8 (30:48):
I just want to know, on a scale of one
to ten, Arnie, how mad are you at me right now?

Speaker 2 (30:53):
I'm good with you, man. You know you're flying aboard
the Fox Sports radio.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Jill be mad later. Apparently our TV is ahead of his.

Speaker 8 (31:00):
Jalen Jaylen just short of a first out, you know
what's gonna happen is he's gonna get his wife.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
So they we've got a decision here, right boys.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Fourth down?

Speaker 3 (31:08):
This is what Arnie was talking about pregame. He wants
to go forward on fourth down every time if.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Fourth and one, especially if you're cross midfield.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
He's not kicking two.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
I'm not kicking. I'm not kicking field goals. I'm going forward.
I'm going out to win a super Bowl. It's at
midfield or just past midfield. I can't see looks like
right at it. Yeah, I'm going forward and it's not.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
Field goal range. And besides, this is the kicker who
couldn't make extra points in the play field.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
No going for no, no tush push here right on
fourth yeah?

Speaker 8 (31:38):
Yeah, So right, Arnie, you were right. This is right
at midfield. Fourth down and.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Two, I'm comfortable going.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Oh they're going deept it caught it first down a J.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Brown.

Speaker 8 (31:48):
Oh you, Arnie, you hate this so much that we're
in front of you. This is payback for solving a flag.
We got a.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
Flag hold on? Is it or is it just jim
nant saying there's a flag as interference offense?

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Wow?

Speaker 8 (32:04):
What you they're gonna call it on AJ, aren't they.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Yeah, Well, let's take long for the Kansas City factor
to get in there.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
That makes it fourth and longer. Now they're gonna punt.
I mean, you can't go fourth and twelve.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
So no, that's it. Now you got a punt, you
can't go.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
For the Homes and company are about to get the ball.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Losing his mind?

Speaker 3 (32:23):
Huh, although he pushed off, he pushed off absolutely good.
Oh no, you serious, he's just about it was a
face mask against McDuffie receivers, left hand up against it.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
I thought were I thought, we're in the super Bowl.
That's my bad.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
You can't extend your arm call that. You don't think
they should have called that army.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Let's play football, boys, Come on, now, let's go.

Speaker 8 (32:45):
Well, you have to consider that a massive success for
the Chiefs as booted away and then punt. Kansas City's
gonna have the foot. Wait, they're gonna return that inside
the ten? Wow, not much more. They'll start at the
eleven yard line. Are we going to the top here?
Did you guys break already?

Speaker 2 (33:02):
We good? We already brought Oh okay.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
I was panicking right there all right.

Speaker 8 (33:06):
So anyway, We're coming to you live from the Tirac
dot Com Fox Sports Radio studios.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
I'm in La baby, are you now? I know you're jealous,
Oh big time. Be not that you got stuck in
traffic though, that was cracty.

Speaker 8 (33:17):
So here's the thing here, just real quick, since we'd
our first commercial, how do you guys do this where
it gives you a distance like Mary? Because where I
was coming from it's pretty close to where you live, right,
So it gave.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
You had to come up to four or five like
coming up from the airport.

Speaker 8 (33:31):
Said forty five minutes. And I'm like, A, right, I'm sorry,
forty five miles.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
I'm like, no, everything has to be minute.

Speaker 7 (33:37):
It has to be minutes. You can't go based off
of miles here.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
I told you like two weeks ago.

Speaker 8 (33:41):
And all part of this was I did call a
game that went eleven innings for some ungodly REASONA. Yeah, yeah,
that's that's why I'm running as close as the game.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Please tell me Oklahoma softball did win.

Speaker 8 (33:52):
They did win an eleven innings. We played at Arty.
We played a nine and an eleven inning game this
week and it was crazy.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Why I was like, what are they going to wrap
the other your hitting the other team of Mike win
a game by being Noah.

Speaker 8 (34:04):
We were softballs two and a half hours, so it
should have been done at you know, one thirty Pacific time,
which is a great time zone. By the way, it
should have been done one thirty, and here I am
at one forty when I finally said the text, it's like, boys,
we're still playing, and this is the official I might
be running late text message that I just I couldn't
fathom that they wouldn't score a run in the final

(34:26):
couple of moments.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
I think I knew this was going to happen a
week ago. I told our producer Patrick. I told it.
I said, I bet you that Plank will get stuck
in traffic, or that there'll be something wrong with the freeway.
The game will go extra innings, and he's going to
run late.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
He told me this one week ago.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I think he jinks to you.

Speaker 8 (34:43):
Well, But because it happened last time, it happened the
last time we were here, Because last year I was home,
I was in my home studio, and the year before
that I was here for the for the Eagles and
the Chiefs. The last time I was in studio disager,
and I didn't get to go have the what is it? Yes,
that's right, And we didn't get to have our tacos
because I was running so late.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
I'm told pizza is arriving shortly.

Speaker 8 (35:07):
Well, this is all I got a lot better around.
I do want it during commercials right now. I do
want to take a moment and say, this is my
first time in the new Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Es moved down the hall since you were here, like
a little.

Speaker 8 (35:18):
Bit, turned around a bit. I did spray an f
palm as soon as I walked in the door. I
hope I didn't offend anyone out there. I hope there's
no other news talkers that are here this weekend. But
aren't you got to get back out here?

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Nice?

Speaker 4 (35:29):
Oh yeah, this is really nice.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
I mean I did I didn't know they moved. They
didn't tell me, they didn't put the forwarding address for me.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Is there's a little bit of an intimidation factor.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Grab a clue on that.

Speaker 8 (35:39):
By the way, well listen, if Arnie, if Arnie could
I I would be the first one to tell you
he would be out here.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
An incessant amount of sure, absolutely all right, they're showing
the replace. This is his neighborhood. As we know from
the show.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
He mentions Palisades High School constantly on the other side
of the freeway.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
You say, p I Patrick, what'd you think when you watch?

Speaker 2 (36:01):
I thought it was offensive.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
PS.

Speaker 8 (36:02):
It looks like Mary, you got to take you watch
and Mary's waiting for the halftime show.

Speaker 6 (36:07):
I'm watching.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
Want Arty does not think it was.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
It's because he doesn't want them to call anything.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
No, I just think, let's play. You know, it's the
Super Bowl. Let's play. There's gonna be it's gonna get
a little hands.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
He is allowed to play. Also because when you literally
extend your arm completely with your hand on the defensive
back's face mask, that's somewhat illegal.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
That was just too easy for the Chiefs. First down
eleven yards.

Speaker 8 (36:34):
I mean, if that's gonna be what they do, then
Philadelphia has no chance.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Short pass Juju Smith Schuster and the amount of options
they have, I mean, you look at what p Wright
came in for one play last year at the end.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
The amount of.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Options they have are let's just say, befitting a champion.

Speaker 8 (36:53):
So they are at the twenty three yard line. First
time the Chiefs have had the football Mahomes first pass
for eleven yards. Philadelphia does a better job on the
second pass, try to get Worthy out in the flat
short gain for Xavier Worthy. Did you who'd you decide
to go with on your MVP pick, Larne, I missed it.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
On my MVP, I put aj Brown at twenty eight
to one odds you would have been.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
Now I know why you didn't want the PI call.
Maybe the MVP for the Chiefs now this, Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
You've got nothing to do with it, absolutely nothing.

Speaker 8 (37:29):
All right, So the Super Bowl is scoreless. We're still
in the first quarter as we're winding up our number
one of our coverage. Really hard working hour for me,
Kelsey with.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
A drop and a shot afterwhid yeah, and a little
bit behind him right, very kind of like un Mahomes like.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
So third down to nine, all right, third and nine, Arnie, this.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Is a big play because you can't let them score
and then before the half half of the ball and
then get the ball first to the second half. Everything
can't be going their way. The Philadelphia is eventually gonna
have to come up and step up, and of a
couple of times you just can't let him go down
the field. And wear down your defense.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
All right, So here we go third down and nine
for Philly, and a good graphic that Kansas City was
near fifty percent on converting.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Third downs this year, one of the best in the NFL.
I know it's third and longer. Here it's third and nine.

Speaker 8 (38:15):
There's the all time leading rusher in Oklahoma football history,
samaj ap Ran out in the backfield.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Cover the guy with the black and white stripes too.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
Uh oh.

Speaker 8 (38:23):
Mahomes is dancing around and throws one up for grabs
and it's nearly picked, might have been picked, incomplete, incomplete?

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Wow, So it's four and out. Remember they had the
good pass on the first down, but after that three
plays and kick. Mahomes is coming off the field.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Arnie.

Speaker 8 (38:38):
I know you don't care about coordinator matchups. I know
you don't. Well they mean something today, Thank you.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
Patrick.

Speaker 8 (38:45):
Mahomes has never lost to Vic Fangiel. Right, he has
eight to zero against your former defensive coordinator.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
As both a coach. I guess when he was with
the Night Well, what was Vic a head coach?

Speaker 3 (38:56):
He was Denver?

Speaker 4 (38:57):
Right, Denver?

Speaker 2 (38:57):
Thank you?

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Yes, that's right.

Speaker 8 (38:58):
I just go clearing space and then was a defensive
coordinator at Chicago and most recently with what Miami, spent
some time in Jacksonville. One minute, let sorry, Mary, he
said into my ear, And I was like one minute
left in the hour. One minute, everybody, all right, So
we're gonna get a decent kick punt return here from
the Jene in decent field position.

Speaker 4 (39:18):
All right.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
By the way, that's his birthday today. It is Saquon's
Markley's birthday literally today.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
And also the guy who just ran back the punt,
rookie defensive back Cooper de Jean, his twenty second birthday today. Wow.

Speaker 8 (39:31):
These I will say this is the coolest setting that
I've ever been in to watch the Super Bowl because
there's four massive TVs in here, Arnie and I can't
decide which one is the best one to watch. It's like,
I want to watch this one, I want to watch
that one. But we're watching the super Bowl with you.
We'll keep tabs on all of the player props that
you are into here today, and obviously Arnie Spicks will

(39:52):
make sure to check off all the ones that he gets.
Right as the game rolls on, we are scoreless. Two
possessions in the Eagles have the ball when we come back.
We are scoreless in the Super Bowl. It's Arny in
plant Comedy Live from the ti rack dot Com Studios.
Second down and eleven oh the Eagles a busted wheel
route touchdown, touchdown Philadelphia already the Eagles hit paydirt. First

(40:14):
score is a Jalen Hurts touchdown pass to Dotson.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
And he was a wide open too. What a great call.
He was wide open down the sideline, as you said,
wheel route and boom six nothing extra point pending.

Speaker 8 (40:28):
We're watching the replay right now. They brought a blitz
Jalen Hurts to Reddit touchdown. Man, what a start. Let's
see if Dotson is in Arnie. Let's see knee is ooh,
knee's down. He's gonna be down at the one arm.
There is somebody that was celebrating a first touchdown dots
and catch.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
Somebody had it out there, right, yeah.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
But more people will have the Saquon bark anytime touchdown, I.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Think so, yeah, yeah, yep, yep.

Speaker 8 (40:52):
We are a compedy live tonight from the tirack dot
Com Studios. Tire rack dot Com will help you get there.
An unmatched selection fast free ship being free road hazard
protection and over ten thousand recommended installers tire rack dot com.
The way tire buying should be.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Do you do the touch push right away or do
you give it to Saquon Barkley first. I think you
go ahead and give it to Saquon bark I think
you'll give it to Barkley first, right, maybe even twice?

Speaker 4 (41:17):
Do you agree?

Speaker 2 (41:18):
Yes, absolutely, we're actually you're agreeing with me. Yes, I am.
As a matter of fact, I probably give it to
him the first two times unless they break through the
backfield and to the backfield and put him down like
three yards deep. Did I got to rethink what I'm
doing there.

Speaker 8 (41:30):
You know, if there is one thing, Arnie that we learned,
it is if Kansas City did a really good job
of defending the Josh Allen short yardage.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
Pright right, pull the ball back then and let hers
take off out of roll, let him roll himself.

Speaker 8 (41:43):
Yeah, so we'll see coming up here in mere moments.
They went to a commercial break. Now, did they say
they were reviewing it? I was, I was looking down.
I think they did.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
Didn't of course reviewed anyway, So yeah, that's true. Look
at you. I had Dallas Goddard as my last pick
on my predictions over forty nine and a half receiving yards.
So he's off to a good stuff.

Speaker 4 (42:02):
Really, yes, sir, Wow, how about that? There's you know
what there is in here that is amazing. There's a
lot of computers. It's like, can I just are these
just free to grab and use? Or what's the rules
on those? And take them all? Do you take this
think book home with me?

Speaker 8 (42:16):
Or is it like that's Harman's and that's rich A
Cavino and Riches and there's uh, there's Jonases.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
I mean, what's the rules on these things? Man is?

Speaker 2 (42:25):
And I don't even know where the studios are. They
didn't even tell me about that.

Speaker 8 (42:28):
Here's the good news. Here's the good news. We're still
in the same place. We're still in the same building
that says Fox Sports Radio, where you're sitting in trust
going anywhere on the four h five. You see it beautifully.
But no, it's just it's a little different studio. It's
kind of nice, you know, the the great video of
the woman's just.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
This is nice.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
I feel right now. This is really nice. Okay.

Speaker 8 (42:50):
Anything that's surprised you here in the early going, anything
that's kind of caught your eye.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
Officially, guys, they have reversed it. Now they're spoken down
at the one, but we're still in a commercial break.

Speaker 4 (43:00):
There goes your dots in touchdown for yeah, new habit.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Nothing really surprised me. It's just was big. You know,
everybody says one play doesn't decide a game or decide
a super Bowl, but a little big plays decided and
that was big to Philadelphia. Was able to stop Kansas
City on that first drive. You didn't want to give
him any points, especially a touchdoun after your drive has failed.
So that was big on them. And now if they
get out to the early seven to nothing lead, this

(43:25):
is this is what we want to see with Philadelphia
if they want to win this game.

Speaker 3 (43:28):
And also, guys, inside the building, the Eagles fans, although
it's not some sort of seventy thirty split, the Eagles
fans had been the louder fans and you need know
that no more than this instance. They just put Taylor
Swift up on the stadium video orch She was loudly
and resoundly booed and look and did not understand what

(43:48):
was going on. So we're returning to action with a
push push from the one.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Oh, they are going to do the work. There you go.

Speaker 8 (43:55):
Jalen Hurts first touchdown, A lot of things cash there
Hurts anytime touchdown, Yep.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
I think.

Speaker 8 (44:04):
I'm sure there was a props somewhere, so I think
it was a touchdown, right.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Somebody I think in the show or the show earlier
today talked about Jalen Hurt scoring the first touchdowns dead
some really good odds on that one, and that if
you got the touch push you can, you know, maybe
cash it on them. That's exactly what I well.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
Any play that gets reversed and says first and goal
from the one, he's getting the ball, this is Philadelphia.

Speaker 8 (44:29):
Oh yeah, there's no there's no trick almost a trickeration.
There's no trickery. Whenever it comes to that football word.
I think it works. I think it works.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
So it's a Haggstram name.

Speaker 4 (44:39):
I think is that what it was?

Speaker 2 (44:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (44:41):
The extra point is up and it is good.

Speaker 8 (44:44):
So six fifteen to go in the first quarter, Philly
strikes first, and I gotta be honest with you, they
are exploiting something. It appears arn'tie in the secondary for
the Kansas City Chiefs, and they're just having that's two
passes too big plays that have been hit down that sideline.
Of course the PI call on the other one to
sega shut that down.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
So I have surprise they I have surprised. They've thrown
the ball deep what two or three times? Well one
was a penalty and the other two were catchers, So
I have surprise they're going deep. Maybe they feel like
they have to get say Con Barkley, you know, rolling
in that way. You know they can't cheat and play
him play the run on defense.

Speaker 8 (45:22):
Yeah, and in other words, I guess in that the
thing would be there now in what Philadelphia is doing,
They're they're forcing you to commit more to the pass,
at least surely on and like you said, Arnie, that takes.
Maybe they'll pull a guy out of the box. Maybe
they won't blitz as much. I don't think that's gonna
be ever the case with Steve Spagnola. But regardless, Philly

(45:45):
strikes first. Oh, they're looking at Chris Jones on the
sideline right now. Looks like they're working around his neck
a little bit. That would be that would be the
kind of situation that you don't want to have here. Hey,
while they're waiting to kick things off. Seven play, sixty
nine yard drive. Johan Dotson had the twenty seven yard catch,
but in three minutes and twenty five seconds he was

(46:05):
ruled down right at the one. Maybe about the one
and a half. Philly comes out, works the tush push
with the extra point and it's seven zip. What Kansas
City's been aggressive on these kick returns, They're gonna bring
it out. Special teams usually end up making a big
impact in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
And uh oh Remy Hill, who had never heard of
until last ye.

Speaker 8 (46:24):
Good week A if he had a huge kick return,
he brings it all the way out to about the thirty.

Speaker 4 (46:29):
Well they got a spot there the thirty five.

Speaker 3 (46:31):
Three three, sorry thirty three officially thirty three.

Speaker 8 (46:34):
All right, so stinking genius here the Chiefs. You're never
gonna panic can get too carried away. He's not a
team that overly worries about establishing the run. What are
you doing here to get things going? To get things right?
If you're Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid.

Speaker 2 (46:47):
I'm gonna start all over again. I'm gonna look for
Travis Kelce. I know I threw a bad ball the
first time I can't throw it behind them, So I'm
gonna go ahead, look that I'm gonna roll out maybe
a little bit. I'm gonna commit to the same offense
I always has. Is going to panic be right now
with six minutes left in the first there, Chris.

Speaker 8 (47:03):
They fake a big bomb and on the first play
they throw underneath which one of the I think it
MS Schuster. Yeah, Cooper Degen is kind of throwing a
little fit behind the play. Did you see that. I
don't know if he was defensive bay. Yeah, defensive back
for the Philadelphia Eagles. Gotta remember pronouns the h make
sure I get everyone understanding where they are. But Mahomes

(47:24):
looked like he was going for a big play. Kelsey
was double teamed underneath. And now it's second down in five.

Speaker 3 (47:30):
Something to keep in mind with Travis Kelcey, who has
been targeted once and they threw behind him. But he
needs two more catches for his Super Bowl history to
tie Jerry Rice most Super Bowl catches ever with thirty
three total. He's two away.

Speaker 8 (47:42):
Traditional run for Kareem Hunt. Not much there, So this
is a third down and three? Are we looking at three?

Speaker 2 (47:49):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (47:50):
If you don't get this and it's fourth and short,
I know we're very much looking ahead.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
I wouldn't hand him a field goal here.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
Yeah, if it's fourth nor less, I could see them
going for it though, and be careful of those of
the fake punts. You know. Kansas City will have no
problems of pulling that off. But I gotta tell you,
if it's fourth and one, I may not go for it.
But I can see Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (48:11):
This is big three and out and the Chiefs offense
is gonna be off the field and maybe not get
the ball back. To end the first.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Quarter, Mahomes tripped up, throws late, incomplete throws wide. Wow,
it's fourth down in three.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
That's a three and out.

Speaker 4 (48:27):
So seven plays so far for the Chiefs, right, he.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Usually complete that too. The guy the receiver was open.
I know he was falling down, but he kind of
overthrew him at that point.

Speaker 3 (48:36):
And only nineteen yards for the Chiefs offense. First quarter,
and again they might not be touching the ball in
this period again, under five minutes to go in the.

Speaker 4 (48:43):
First Wow, all right, Kansas City, are they gonna go
for it? Nope, there's the plow.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
No that conna go for that.

Speaker 3 (48:49):
Matt horizon.

Speaker 8 (48:51):
Well you say that in the confidence and listen, I've
been burned too many times by the Chiefs. Hey, they're
not gonna go for it. The next thing, you know,
you look out there in the home Zeer running Zia zero.
Now after you watch him, just Asa punts it through
the end zone and that's it all right. So, so far, guys,
Philadelphia has come to play.

Speaker 3 (49:10):
In other words, Philadelphia, as we thought, has the better roster.
But the only thing I've been looking about for two
weeks going into this game is is it going to
be close for Casey in the fourth Because in the
fourth quarter of close games they have Mahomes running that offense.
Philadelphia should win this game. They have the better defense,
the better offensive line, The quarterback's healthy and can run.

(49:31):
They can get pressure from Bought at linebacker and Carter
at defensive tackle. This is a very good Philly.

Speaker 8 (49:37):
Team, Arnie, Steve, you guys were able to take it
all of the pregame fun as we get a break
here as the first quarter winds down, anything really stand out.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
Every song in the world was sung pregame except for
Happy Birthday. Believe how long it was?

Speaker 2 (49:54):
Well, I was gonna ask the Sager about Tom Brady's watch,
because I think he has one similar that Jacob and
company the what caviars or billion? It was a six
hundred thousand dollars watch. You have one? Just liked that.

Speaker 3 (50:06):
Yeah, that watch is worth more money than we make
in our lifetimes.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
Watch. And by the way, they did say, I saw
Darren Ravel tweet this out twenty yard line seats right
before the game, three thousand dollars their face value at
fifty five hundred and ten days ago, they were fifteen
thousand dollars for the same seat. So it came down dramatically.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
Because realize that essentially the real face value for seats,
say it's one thousand dollars, isn't available to the general public. Now,
if you're a season ticket holder of an NFL team,
I know this is how it used to work. They
could put your name in a lottery. Because since it's
the NFL games, they own how they distribute the tickets,
which means sponsors certainly get a lot the two competing

(50:50):
teams get some for their fan base, or at least
a portion of their fan base, and a small percentage
get distributed to the various franchises around the League.

Speaker 8 (50:59):
I will also that I Arnie, I know you sat
and kind of positioned yourself and just watching all the
pregame coverage pretty much all day long. For anything, they
kind of caught her eye. This morning, I was watching
Marty Smith do a piece on one of the one
of the victims in the New Orleans terrorist attack line.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
I saw that one. Yeah, I saw that.

Speaker 8 (51:18):
They went to Jason Kelsey, and because Jason was kind
of heavily involved in making sure that the family of
the murdered victim, his best friend had a chance to
go to the super Bowl today, they went to the
desk and Kelsey couldn't talk. I mean, it was a
real moment that was heavy, and I with that in mind,
I thought they did a good job, Arnie and paying tribute.
I know, sometimes unless you know it's it's in the

(51:38):
news every single minute, you don't take the terrorist attacks
as series as we should like that. It's just, oh man,
that was terrible what happened. Moving on, but I loved
the tribute that was paid and the way in which
they paid homage to it, because again, that's in this city, Arnie,
and something that happened, you know, just just a month ago.

Speaker 2 (51:56):
No, I agree with you one hundred percent of a
very very emotional I saw him and I'm like, wow, yeah,
it was. It was tough, It was, it was. It
was just a great piece to see. Unfortunate, obviously, but
very well done. Just absolutely tremendous.

Speaker 8 (52:10):
Hey a chance for the Eagles to give himself a
little bit of separation here. They're gonna start from their
own twenty and uh oh a drop pass?

Speaker 3 (52:19):
Oh my gosh, backup tight end?

Speaker 8 (52:22):
Is that cal Kata? No, don't be grand. They had
a They're still.

Speaker 3 (52:27):
Showing Johnny Wilson, rookie Florida State.

Speaker 8 (52:30):
Johnny weil who was who was a heck of a
wide receiver in college. Oh whatever, they whatever they're working
on on Chris Jones on his neck right easy.

Speaker 2 (52:39):
It looks like it's hurting him big time. You know. Yeah,
he may have like a pinch nerve or something.

Speaker 8 (52:43):
They just showed them kind of work in the back
of his neck and when they got one area, he
saw his head. Uh been back second down and ten
they'll run Saquon Barkley for a couple So I don't
like that call.

Speaker 2 (52:55):
By the way, I if I'm gonna go ahead and
throw the ball on first down. I gotta throw it
on second. Now you faith yourself third and short. You're
up seven nothing. This is not the time to be conservative.
This is the time to say, okay, let's get that
extra score now and go up to Remember we're not
going to get the ball to start the second half.
That all that has to come in the mine here,
and I don't like just now they sit up.

Speaker 8 (53:14):
At long and again Kansas City, even after two big
plays by the three total, one got called back on
a on a holding of pass interference. I mean, Kansas
City is still doing a really good job in limiting
anything for Saquon Barbie. Right here we go on third
and eight and good pass first down.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
Wow, DeVante, well that was big, too big.

Speaker 8 (53:36):
Yeah, you don't want to go three and out after
just forcing the Chiefs on a three and out.

Speaker 3 (53:42):
In other words, as we move a little closer toward
midfield with this Philly drive and we're late in the
first quarter, Eagles up seven to nothing over Kansas City.
There is a chance that the Philadelphia Eagles get a
double digit lead against Patrick Mahomes, which against most quarterbacks,
especially in the Super Bowl, would mean game over. But
Patrick Mahomes might be the only quarterback who actually come

(54:04):
as a winning record double digit.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
But ives come back to win a Super Bowl down
double digits one or.

Speaker 3 (54:12):
Two or well Brady famously and it was wasn't Drew
Brees down and then they had the on seg Yeah
second time.

Speaker 8 (54:19):
By the way, Doug Williams, I like being able to
see you guys when we're doing the show. Do you
guys want to come back to Oklahoma and just hang out?
I mean, I don't know, I studios can be this nice,
but we'll do something.

Speaker 6 (54:28):
I mean, it's six outs from my mom house. There
you go.

Speaker 2 (54:30):
You'll be good.

Speaker 8 (54:32):
Big pass play, Oh, Jalen Hurts breaks a big run.
He's into Chief's territory and you're a five yard line.

Speaker 2 (54:38):
I'b surprised he didn't do that earlier. Like I said,
he's her rushed the ball like ten times. I know
that includes the touch, push and all that, but he
he needs to make that part of the offense today.
You're down to the last game, so you know nothing
the hold back here. He needs to go ahead and
have run so that then holds that defense back on
their heels.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
Jalen Hurts had three touchdown runs last game when they
blew out Washington for the the NFC title, and he
had almost two hundred fifty yards passing.

Speaker 4 (55:03):
We're gonna stay We're gonna stay here with this drive.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
I know that.

Speaker 8 (55:05):
You know, sometimes the game clock can mess with our
Fox Sports radio clock.

Speaker 3 (55:11):
Two minutes left first quarter.

Speaker 8 (55:12):
Yeah, we're cooking here in this first quarter, so this
this could work out pretty well.

Speaker 4 (55:16):
I'm not gonna you know what.

Speaker 8 (55:18):
I thought it was working out pretty well when I
was in the sixth inning of a game and I
was like, oh, plenty of five.

Speaker 2 (55:24):
Pretty well when you left Long Beach.

Speaker 4 (55:25):
But that was I was feeling good.

Speaker 3 (55:27):
That's right, by the way, You're right on your Saquon
Barkley comment. And he's gotten the ball eight times in
the first quarter, but the eight carries for nineteen yards
as well.

Speaker 8 (55:35):
He was a big part of that run by Jalen
Hurts if you watch, because he got the kickout block
that I mean. I'm honestly, I don't know. I don't
know how Jalen Hurts didn't actually get more out of
that one play.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
Yeah, ten yard first down run by the quarterback on
that instead, it's set up Barkley to just get the
short game and the first round. So the drive is
continuing there inside the Kansas City forty seven to nothing Philly.
We approach one minute left first.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Quarter and they are taking their time that they're not
hiking the ball until there's like what ten seconds left.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
Five on this play clock. Right now, you.

Speaker 8 (56:10):
Know it's going to be fat. Oh Gainwell gets to carry.
He's one of those guys and I'm like, oh, I
forgot he was a forgot.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
He was an eagle. I had to carry before that too.

Speaker 8 (56:18):
Yeah, yeah, I know. It's back to back. They're running
Gainwell here. This is again a situation where I'm gonna
nerd out for a moment. The middle eight is going
to be really important in this game. Final four minutes
of the first half, first four minutes of the second half,
because you know, Kansas City is probably going to be
in a position to where they're going to try to
double up there. Right, they have the ball to start

(56:40):
the second half, all out, blitz, A flag flies. Oh,
Hurtz takes a shot, but I think the Chiefs were
off sides.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
That was not a third and long either.

Speaker 4 (56:49):
No, they brought her the house.

Speaker 3 (56:51):
Yeah, it is on Kansas City.

Speaker 8 (56:52):
Yeah, I mean they they were, they were in the backfield.
They almost before he snapped the ball. But did you
see after already they got a shot in on Jalen
Hurts there.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
Yeah, I'm surprised. They looked like it was going to
be a helmet to helmet also, But it doesn't make
a difference. They're going to get the first down. Don't
turn the ball over set because yeah, you're in field
goal range. They didn't get back. Yeah, I was wondering.
I didn't see them jump, so I'm like they must
have lined.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
Them that pressure. By the way, it was from George Carloftus,
who in the last six games has had six hats
six sacks, would have had a sack on that play.
This guy, just since Week fourteen, including playoffs, has thirty
two pressures on the quarterback, which is the most by
any player in that span. He just had a sack
taken away by his teammate lining off side.

Speaker 2 (57:36):
Bad call on that too. Why not run the ball
and go for it on fourth because you know you're
not going to kick like a fifty something yard field
goal with Elliott. You were going to go for it
on fourth down anyway, So you have to think ahead
at that point.

Speaker 3 (57:46):
So that's the end of the first quarter. Seven nothing Eagles.

Speaker 8 (57:49):
Yeah, bad zone read decision by Jay Laarball, Yeah, but
maybe even better defense by the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (57:54):
All right, we're doing time out.

Speaker 8 (57:56):
We're coming to you live from the tire rack dot
com studios into the first quarter eagal seven Chiefs nothing.
We're watching the Super Bowl with you on Fox Sports Radio.
We're a company alive from the ti rack dot Com studios.
And aren't he a developing situation? During the break? On
a third and long, Jalen Hurtz throws one up for grabs.

(58:16):
It's intercepted. But who was a Chief's defender on that?

Speaker 2 (58:20):
Reid? No?

Speaker 8 (58:23):
On the interception he couldn't stay in bounds and he
goes down at the what two yard line? So the
Chiefs have its second and eight from their own four
yard line. Oh, there's people that have a safety prop
that are just giddy right now.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
Severely on their throne. Wasn't open, the blitz was on,
or at least there was a guy in his face.
Never should have been thrown. So unfortunately an interception for
Jalen Hurts and I'm sure people bet the over half
on the interception on Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 3 (58:55):
With Nick Bolton with the pressure up the middle and
Brian Cooking. My secondary read was down yield, but cook
came across and got it, and it looks like it
might be a quick three and out if Kansas City
doesn't convert. Here. Guys, they've only had one first down
in the first half so far.

Speaker 8 (59:10):
I wonder I need I need a football nerd on
Twitter to let me know what they think vic Fangio
was doing different, if anything, because this is a little
bit unheard of from Mahomes against a Nick vic Fangio defense.
Just getting Yeah, four man, I think you're right.

Speaker 4 (59:29):
I think you're right, Harney.

Speaker 3 (59:30):
And incomplete to Kelsey. Fourth and three. This is gonna
should have had that too.

Speaker 2 (59:34):
I know it was a little throw, but he should
have caught that one.

Speaker 3 (59:36):
Yet another short Kansas City drive. The Kansas City Chiefs
have had possession of the football for under five minutes total.
It's about twelve and a half minutes possession for the Eagles.

Speaker 8 (59:47):
We're gonna get a punt from the again. Hey, those
of you who are holding some sort of safety ticket
in some way, shape or form, you got Trantenna's upright here.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
The last punt was sixty yards, but it was forty
net because it hit the goal line and went into
the end zone.

Speaker 8 (01:00:03):
Is tunny from his goal line, all right, Cooper de
Jean's got a chance to do something with this. He's
gonna try to bounce outside at the forty five of
the Eagles, but get brought down. They're pretty good special
teams from both sides so far. All right, this is
that moment here in our Super Bowl show with Arnie Spaniel.
I'm Chris Plank, that Steve de Seger. Of course, the
crew is here that's usually with you on Sunday Night's

(01:00:25):
post game everything. We're typically live from ten p to
one A Central Time, eleven p to two Way Eastern.
Mary Mack running the show. Patrick Sweakover on the other side,
making sure we stay in our lanes and Arnie. So
far so Eagles, I mean, they've been able to do
whatever they want defensively and obviously to turnover hurts.

Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
But it kind of worked like a really good punt
now that you look back at it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
Right and now you're gonna have good they're a decent
field position, you're gonna have it on right around your
own thirty five. They have to take advantage of this.
Like I said, they're not going to start off the
second half by having the ball that's going to go
to Kansas City. You've dominated the time of possession. You
can't just lead seven to nothing when you have twelve
minutes to their four or five minutes in time of possession.
It's got to show a little bit more on the scoreboard.
They need at least three to make it a two

(01:01:09):
possession game, preferably a touchdown, thank you, captain obvious. But
you can't keep it in seven to nothing with this
type of possession. They need some points on this drive here.

Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
What's also bad at about Philadelphia with that pick that
Jalen hurts through is they were in realistic field goal rash.
It would not have been a fifty yard or anything
like that. You're kicking indoors. This is a dome stadium
in New Orleans, off turf weather, grass not a factor
at all. So they missed a chance for at minimum
a ten to nothing lead by feeling the pressure and

(01:01:39):
just trying to get the pass off in time downfield
to go from LINU scrimmage thirty and throw an interception
down at the two. He didn't have the juice to
be able to deliver the ball to the end zone
where his receiver was going. That really costs him. And
aside from that, Jalen Hurts his seven of eight passing
seventy nine yards, but in my mind that was asleep.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Pick.

Speaker 8 (01:02:01):
You mentioned the time of possession right now, Arnie, have
you looked at it? Twelve twenty five for the Eagles,
just four fifty eight for the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
Right, and that's got to be better than the seven
nothing score of the scoreboard. That's why they got to
put some points here on.

Speaker 8 (01:02:13):
Yeah, Desaga was going through the numbers. I'll just go
ahead and reset them. Nine first downs for the Eagles
to one for the Chiefs, five of those throwing the football,
So five of the nine first downs have been throwing
the football totally. Did I get the total yardage one
nineteen to twenty six?

Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
You did that right?

Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
Stay? Wow?

Speaker 8 (01:02:29):
Five point two yards per play for Philadelphia, two point
six for Camps.

Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
And the running backs are not getting the yardage for Philly.
You add up Saquon Barkley and the couple carries back
to back from Kenneth Gain will it's ten carries twenty
five yards on the ground, as all, Philly should be
up ten nothing at.

Speaker 8 (01:02:44):
Least all right, Well, while we've got to break in
the game, the sagas in the house, let's get you
caught up with everything going on in the world of sports,
because there's a little bit more than.

Speaker 4 (01:02:50):
The Super Bowl that we've got our eye on, at
least earlier.

Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
But nothing, yeah, all earlier, Nothing going on right now,
certainly the super Bowl, super Bowl fifty nine is on
Fox TV right now. It is seven nothing, Eagles over
the Chiefs, twelve thirty six to go in the second quarter,
and we need to emphasize Kansas City's had three different
drives and only one first down total in this first half.
Casey won the toss kicked off Philadelphia on the first

(01:03:15):
drive of the night, on a fourth and two, went
for it, but a pass interference offense on aj Brown
forced them to punt, but on Philly's second drive a touchdown.
In fact, in the first quarter it was nine first
downs to one advantage, huge yardage and time of possession advantage.
Kansas City ran only seven plays in the first quarter.
They had two drives, two punts, but again that pick

(01:03:36):
thrown by Jalen Hurts early second quarter at the k
C two probably cost Philly points on that drive. Seven
nothing is the lead for Philadelphia early second quarter. There
were three NBA games earlier. Milwaukee got forty three points
from Damian Lillard and beat Philadelphia one thirty five one
twenty seven for Philly and the loss Tyrese Maxi thirty

(01:03:57):
nine points Joel Embiid twenty seven. Talkee star Jannis on
Tenakumpo will be out through the All Star break. With
a sore calf wins for Detroit and Houston College hoops
wins from Memphis and Maryland. The Jets are moving on
from quarterback Aaron Rodgers Jay Glazer with that report pregame today.
Rogers met with the Jets this past week, and the
forty nine ers granted wide receiver Deebo Samuel permission to

(01:04:20):
seek a trade Philadelphia with the ball early second quarter
up seven zip back to you.

Speaker 8 (01:04:25):
Okay, I'm just gonna bust myself out here. I had
not heard that New York Jets news. I didn't see
Jay's report. Wow, Okay, more on that in our post
game Third down and seven, Third down and seven right now,
after what I thought again another run by Jalen Hurtzar
any where I thought he could have got a little
bit more. They've got their own forty six yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
If he took the field, yeah, instead of going out
of bounds.

Speaker 8 (01:04:50):
I thought he had something there. He just kind of
motioned to the sidelines. Snap is off on the third
and seven play. They're going deep again and they got
their man again. Aj Brown.

Speaker 3 (01:04:59):
Wow, twenty two yards first down, by the way, on
the offensive line.

Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
By the way, that's a true statistician spot right there.
He knew before even look at Arnie.

Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
You have to do People don't realize this. You have
to do the math in your head before the ball
is snack tu You're completely Yeah. On the Philly offensive line,
Mackay Beck in questionable return to return due to some
sort of injury.

Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
All right.

Speaker 8 (01:05:22):
They were working on the sideline with them, But it
wasn't a trainer, It wasn't an athletic trainer. It was
like another offensive lineman really, and he's kind of pushing
on him, like just trying to get his leverage, and
you could tell that he wasn't he wasn't feeling it.
And they know not at all right, and they showed
by the way the replay whenever I said hey, Litl
Kurtz just looked through the sideline and pointed at something.

(01:05:42):
He pointed a j Brown, who was basic like, hey,
it's coming your way. Yeah, it's you.

Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
And they're still not getting anything on the ground. The Eagles.
There's another Barkley carry. He's ten carries twenty yards.

Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
That's why I said. That's why I said that Jalen
Hurts has to take off. Then you're not gonna if
either of they're just going to concentrate on say Kwond Barkley.
You got to catch them by surprise and take off
and pull the ball back.

Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
This would be a good time to bring up that
the offensive coordinator for Philly is apparently staying in New
Orleans after this.

Speaker 4 (01:06:10):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 8 (01:06:10):
Kellen Moore is going to be the new head coach
of the Saints. And by the way, I heard that
this is not me being a Derek Carr homer. I
heard that he would be happy with Derek Carr as
his quarterback. Wow, which is something you don't hear from
many people outside of outside of Chris Plank and the
car Brothers pretty.

Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
Much, including some Raider fans.

Speaker 4 (01:06:29):
That's right, that's right, all right.

Speaker 8 (01:06:30):
Third down and five, Philadelphia has the seven ziply there
in field goal range. They're gonna fake the run. Oh
there goes Jalen's again, Arnie, nice tackle. I felt like
he had more room if he cut that back inside.
Really nice play for the for the Chiefs by Justin Ridal.
He's he's outstanding.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
So now a field goal.

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Gotta go for the field goal. Put it, make it
two possession. You gotta get that. You got it, you
gotta get you gotta get the points. I mean, geez,
I would love the goal for it. I just don't
think rit this.

Speaker 4 (01:06:59):
Point, NICKI, he's crazy enough to go for it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
Now, you got told you are? I told you?

Speaker 8 (01:07:04):
I was just in my mind. I was like, this
is too this, these are the situation.

Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
I'm not against it against.

Speaker 3 (01:07:09):
Hey, if they haven't snapped it yet, sorry, the offense
is still on the field. It's not fourth and one,
it's fourth and three and a full three.

Speaker 8 (01:07:17):
Yeah, he's not taking the snap all right, So there's
six seconds on the play clock.

Speaker 3 (01:07:20):
He's doing out.

Speaker 8 (01:07:21):
He's doing the whole point and a round thing right now.
See if they can get Kansas City to jump in
Kansas City won't jump all right?

Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
Time out.

Speaker 8 (01:07:28):
I was gonna say, so, are we adding seventeen to
the line of scrimmage for field goals still? Or is
it eighteen eighteen?

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Now? All right?

Speaker 4 (01:07:34):
So you're looking at what like a forty two forty
three yard field goal?

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Okay, and they still make go for it. They may
go okay, let's let's let's go for it anyway they
may do.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
If so, they shouldn't have just burned a timeout.

Speaker 4 (01:07:45):
I would agree with that one.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
Why they wanted to see if they could draw him
off sides first.

Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Right, that would be free. Oh for a moment, Hurts
is going to sit down. Yeah, So Elliott's on the field.
This is a field goal attempt.

Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
If he misses it, you know what they'll be saying.

Speaker 4 (01:08:00):
Point if he misses it, I can't wait for you
to play a game.

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
If I told you so, I certainly will.

Speaker 8 (01:08:06):
I'm not gonna lie. There's kind of a part of
me that wants to see him miss it. But this
is a very, very well in the NFL right now,
every field goal is basically anything.

Speaker 3 (01:08:17):
Inside fifty is makeable in the NFL, especially indoors.

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
It should be like eighty percent good. You know what
I mean?

Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
You are just so jinxing this right now.

Speaker 8 (01:08:24):
Forty three yard attempt to Saga was right, Jake Elliott
good snap good hold ten zip.

Speaker 3 (01:08:31):
By the way, now that we've got a break, can
I mention all the time when you look at field
goals attempts in the NFL, keep in mind I've actually
seen this in the rule.

Speaker 4 (01:08:40):
But there's a flag. There's a flag, go ahead to Saga,
fall start.

Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
Okay there, it's so I assumes.

Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
Now do you take points off the board?

Speaker 2 (01:08:50):
Yes, yes, absolutely, it's a first down. I know they
say you never take points off the board, but I'm
taking points off the board absolutely.

Speaker 4 (01:08:57):
And they are just take I want to hear the
field goal stat though, because that sounded really cool.

Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
Are you okay, yeah, they're just gonna rekick.

Speaker 4 (01:09:06):
Oh okay. I was like, well, because wasn't because it's
on offense.

Speaker 8 (01:09:10):
Oh okay, okay, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (01:09:12):
The Chiefs were way Oh they they're.

Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Saying the right side of Philly flinch.

Speaker 8 (01:09:17):
Okay, okay, all right, I never got that one good
catch on your part, Steve.

Speaker 3 (01:09:21):
So it's now a forty eight yard at ten.

Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
Oh that that's a bad call. Yeah, I have a
question about that. That's a bad call.

Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
Kansas City clearly was going off side, but they're saying
Philly first apparently made the field goal.

Speaker 8 (01:09:34):
He played the hook. It just hugs the right side
of the fairway and it is still ten zero. I
thought Kansas City jumped Steve.

Speaker 3 (01:09:41):
Didn't you too, They did, so it's ten nothing Philadelphia
over Kansas City. Eight thirty eight left second quarter and
the Chiefs still have only one first down in the
first half. Kansas's given up ten first rounds, but the
offense only has one. And now that we're in break.
I mentioned for the when you watch an NFL game,
especially at the end of a half, and they're going

(01:10:03):
for a kick, it's in the rule book that the
most time that can come off the clock for a
field goal attempt is five seconds. If they're lining up
with six seconds to go, it is by rule guaranteed
that there will still be time on the clock. The
only exception is like if it's tipped and the ball
goes rolling down the field. But any normal field goal attempt,
like we just saw, the most time that can come

(01:10:24):
off the clock is five seconds. Something. To keep in
mind at the end of half.

Speaker 8 (01:10:28):
Okay, that's I'm writing that one down on my empty
sheet of paper right now.

Speaker 2 (01:10:32):
For how is that possible? I suppose you suppose you're
kicking like a sixty five yard field goal.

Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
I agree. They don't even consider that it's actually in
the rule book, like the referees at timekeepers, you can't
use up more than five seconds.

Speaker 8 (01:10:46):
Like it already brings in some logic to it's yeah,
first us lot, what is it? It's a sixty yard
field goal? Does that matter? It's just it's in the rule.

Speaker 3 (01:10:55):
So do we agree at this point? Even though Kansas
City's getting shut out, their best aspect their first half
so far is they've completely shut down the running game,
including the quarterback not getting big runs for Philly.

Speaker 4 (01:11:06):
You agree, Onnie, I agree hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
At one.

Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
If you would have told me they're up ten to
nothing and Saquon barkioly had ten carries for twenty yards,
I'd say, Oh, they're in trouble. They must have add
something wrong. They can't get the running game going. Kansas
is doing a good job defensively, it's a low scoring game.
Not the case though it's Kansas City not be able
to put points on the board. Mahomes does to take
some of the responsibility. Two throws the Travis Kelsey, Yeah,

(01:11:30):
that could have gotten first down. So he's got to
look in the mirror right now.

Speaker 8 (01:11:33):
And I'm sure there's someone somewhere to Seger that's saying
the Chiefs couldn't be playing any worse offensively, and they're
only down ten zep.

Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
And this is like every other Chiefs game we've seen
for the last two years. They're doing nothing. You're telling
me these are the defending champs. They're getting shut out,
and might I add deservedly so at this point, as
we approach mid second quarter, I will add two years
ago we mentioned this pregame on this show tonight. Years ago,
Kansas City beat Philadelphia in the Super Bowl on a

(01:12:02):
late field goal, and in Arizona that night, the final
score was thirty eight to thirty five. In no way
did I think tonight's game was going to be high
scoring like that. Even as great a game as Jalen
Hurts had, I don't think he can quite duplicate that
level of success.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
Yeah, phenomena.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
Yeah, and so Philadelphia's defense is so much different now
compared to two years ago and so much better. The
personnel has changed and the results have been so much better.
This is the number one ranked defense in the NFL,
and we mentioned it a couple weeks ago on the show.
To have the league's top total defense and the league's

(01:12:39):
top rusher in the regular season on the same team.
The only other team in the Super Bowl era that
has had both the same year was Emmett Smith with
Dallas nineteen ninety two, and they won the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:12:51):
By the way, he is down in the end zone,
go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
I'm watching the fans and stuff, and obviously it still
cost a lot of money to go to a game
like this, but I can't help the imagine if this
game was played like in Philadelphia and the fans going
crazy and they're showing the gold and there's showing those
crazy fans even in Kansas City, how much better of
an atmosphere would be and how crazy would be and
oh my goodness, man, it'd be just so much more fun.

Speaker 3 (01:13:14):
We are going outdoors with the Super Bowl next year,
but it's at the forty nine Ers Stadium and San
Clara in twelve months, a place that has hosted one
prior Super Bowl and then in two years it's going
to be at the Rams Place, which has hosted one
prior Super Bowl. But of course, technically, although that's not
a dome, it does have that covering over the roof,
and it's only opened the Rams Stadium way above each

(01:13:37):
end zone, so you're not going to freeze to death, Romo.
And also I bring it up for football reasons. That's
a great kicking facility. Oh, it's one great long field
goal after another since they opened the Rams Stadium, the
place where the Super Bowl is going to be in
a couple of years, we've seen here with the field
goal just hit by Jake Elliott forty eight yards were
indoors in New Orleans tonight, ten nothing Philly.

Speaker 8 (01:13:58):
Big sack by the Eagles on a play that it
looked like they were trying to shovel pass to Travis
Kelcey and the Eagles defense just ate it up and
they're gonna get another sack. Back to back plays with
sacks on Patrick Mahomes. It's third in a mile.

Speaker 2 (01:14:14):
Wow, let me ask you this does it?

Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
We got that? Right?

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
Go ahead? Arnie, Well, I'm sorry. There's a real bad
game in a Super Bowl. Have you rethink about retiring,
and I'm talking about Travis Kelsey. I'd always loll have
a long way to go, drop it a couple of passes.
Obviously he's in a high profile relationship. Yeah, how many
more years does he really have left? If he has
a bad game? Year? Does it say?

Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
You know?

Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
No catches in the first half for him, He's been
targeted twice.

Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Yep.

Speaker 8 (01:14:36):
Let's see how they play this on this third down
third and sixteen. Now, remember third and sixteen for the
Chiefs is much different than third down for most teams.
But the Eagles have done a good job of getting
pressure on Mahomes and they're they're rolling them out again
and picked the reception picked off Cooper.

Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
He's got green grass in front.

Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
Of him, look out, and he's in the twenteen.

Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
To the ten to the five.

Speaker 8 (01:14:57):
He got in he got picked six touchdown Philadelphia.

Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
That is a massive play in this game. And Philadelphia,
if they weren't in the driver's seat before, are absolutely
dominating Superman fifty nine.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
Go ahead me be the first to say this. This
game is O v there we go. This game is
over all up.

Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
Now, if you weren't the first half, I'd be tempted
to join him.

Speaker 8 (01:15:21):
Yeah, this is a let's let's keep an eye on
if they try to mark him out before the end zone.

Speaker 4 (01:15:25):
But we're gonna go to break with.

Speaker 8 (01:15:27):
Its sixteen zip Philadelphia after Cooper Dejen the Pride of
the Iowa hawkas birthday on his birthday birthday six This
is the Super Bowl edition of Adine playing on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
Welcome back to the tyrack dot com studios. It is
fourth and sixteen wow for the Chiefs, and they will
punt it away. What you say to Sega?

Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
Fourth? Sack third, I'm sorry.

Speaker 8 (01:15:55):
The pizza got here during that last break, so I apologize,
boss Man. But thank hey, Arnie. I want to give
a big thank you to our entire crew that's up here.
Obviously you hear the Sager, you hear Patrick, and you
hear Mary Mack. But behind the scenes, they got a
whole crew that's helping us out. Brianna that you hear
Friday nights in the overnights. She is on the Chiefs feed,

(01:16:17):
she's listening to Mitch Haltis on the Chiefs Radio network.
Ian Roddy is helping us out. He and Brandon Deutsch
Deutsche Brandon Brandon. Brandon looks like he's a college football player,
so I'm not going to mess around with him, dude.
They're making sure that we get both the Eagles and
the Fox Feed. Ryan Berschinger is supervising, so he's doing
an incredible job. I would be a great supervisor. And

(01:16:38):
I met Ricky Ricky Herrera, who is up here. He's
working on the promo side of things. So we've got
a crew of millions here helping us out tonight, Arnie,
And you've already called it over, so if you turned
the channel already on us.

Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
I'm looking for a good law and order right now.
I guys, well watch the end of the first out.

Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
Supporting Arnie's idea, the Chiefs just went three and out
after throwing the pick six.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
Yeah, you cannot. If you're Philadelphia now, you cannot give
the ball back to Kansas City. You've got to take
out the rest of the first half. Nothing stupid. Don't
throw an interception where you're underthrown like that. If you
have to take a sack, take a sack. Keep that
clock moving, try to get three points out of his drive,
but no mistakes where Kansas City gets an easy, easy possession,

(01:17:23):
and good field position right now.

Speaker 8 (01:17:25):
But I want to We've been getting great tweets throughout
the night. We appreciate those of you who have been
tuned in with us here on Fox Sports Radio. Maybe
you're maybe you're traveling, maybe you can't find the actual
game feed, or maybe you're just the biggest Arny Span
your fan, and of course you would much rather hang
with us. That would be most people, most people, right, Yes,

(01:17:45):
Paul Wright Blank, here's the deal. You're just used to
watching Sean mcdermot's defense roll over and die against the
Chiefs every year. This is what an average defense looks
like against the Chiefs. Terrible offense, I should say more
than average defensively, it's the.

Speaker 3 (01:17:59):
Number one defense in the NFL. Kansas City has one
first down. So I've already looked up what's the Super
Bowl record for a game fewest first downs? The answer
is nine for a whole game. Kansas City has one
first down in the first half.

Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
When's the last time they've been now by seventeen points too?

Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
Oh, that would be great A long time. It's got
me all, wow, it has been whenever it was. I'm
sure they came back and won copy years Colin Wright.

Speaker 4 (01:18:24):
The most nervous people on the field right now are
the referees.

Speaker 3 (01:18:28):
No, this is taking all of the pressure off them.
It's a seventeen point lead.

Speaker 8 (01:18:35):
There's a couple of other notes here that would lead
you to believe that this isn't a game. Mahomes is
really good. Whenever he trails by ten or more in
the Super Bowl, he's correcked three and one.

Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
Oh no, that's out the window because you're playing a
really good defensive team now too, at a team that
could move the ball offensively.

Speaker 4 (01:18:51):
Dude, just tacre. Do you see the time of possession numbers.
It's double sixteen twenty four for the Eagles. What eight
thirty seven, thirty six? They just flashed off before I can.

Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
And on top of that, of course, the last score
was a pick six against Mahomes. Teams in Super Bowl
history are almost undefeated when they get a six pick
as part of their night.

Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
And guess who's getting going now, Saquon Barkley.

Speaker 3 (01:19:13):
By the way, the only team in Super Bowl history
that got a pick six and still didn't win the
game was the Falcons, blowing that.

Speaker 4 (01:19:19):
I think the dis.

Speaker 8 (01:19:21):
Seger making sure the Falcon fans catch astray here tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:19:24):
But teams are twelve and one. When part of your
big game is getting a pick six, it's not only
the points, it's the ridiculous emotion and the turn of it.

Speaker 8 (01:19:34):
For twenty to go in the first half, the Eagles
just picked up a first down at their own forty
six yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:19:40):
They're rolling seventeen zip two minute warning.

Speaker 8 (01:19:47):
Philadelphia faces a third and three and it's been all Eagles.

you live from the tyrack dot com studios. Tyrack dot
com will help you get there an unmatched selection, fast,

let me throw some numbers in front of you. Real

(01:20:08):
quick time of possession in this game, nineteen thirteen for
the Eagles, eight forty seven for the Chiefs. Total yardage
all Philadelphia won sixty three to fourteen. The Kansas City
Chiefs have run sixty am I looking.

Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
At this right to Seger, you're right, you're right. Sixteen
plays for fourteen yards.

Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
Including the three sacks going back Ford sicks this is
how rare this is that Kansas City's offense when it's
run by Patrick Mahomes, has no points scored in their
first five drives of a game. Until this season, it
had only happened twice. It happened once. Then early this
season at the Chargers and they wound up winning a close,
low scoring game. And now it's happened here. But again,

(01:20:56):
until this season, it only happened twice. Five drives, no points.
It's four punts for Kansas City and the pick six?

Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
Could I already start what people are gonna say after
the game, He's no Tom Brady. This is the He's
He's not a Tom Brady. He's not even gonna be close.
This isn't the New England Patriots. Kansas City was overrated?
Is that pretty much some of the up Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:21:16):
Well yeah, probably everyone outside of Nick right, But I'm
gonna tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
What just happened right there incomplete.

Speaker 8 (01:21:21):
The Eagles missed on a big play because aj Brown
never looked back for the football. If he were to
look back for the football, either he catches it or
gets a pass interference. Because they had a linebacker I
think out there with them one on one, not a good.

Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
Play call on fourth and three though, Chriz especially.

Speaker 3 (01:21:38):
It also stops the clock the incompletion, so almost a
full two minutes for the KC offense to get something
on the ball. Field.

Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
You got to play, you know what, you gotta go
with a running play, Decide if you want to go
for it on like fourth and one, if you don't
pick up the first and try to kill out the
rest of the first half and maybe get a field goal.
This this puts Kansas City right back in the game
because they get the ball to start the second half.
Philadelphia could have put this game away. They got a touchdown.

Speaker 8 (01:22:01):
I like you, by the way, I just I want
everyone to follow what happened over the last two segments.
Last segment, Arnie was the first one to proclaim that
this game is over. And now with Philadelphia and the
incomplete pass, you just said that this puts philip This
puts Kansas City right back in the game.

Speaker 3 (01:22:18):
What's getting shut out? What do you mean back in
the game.

Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Well, because they're not going to be down by another score.
And I agree if they're down like twenty or twenty four,
I think that it's really one.

Speaker 3 (01:22:28):
Good punt here, that's right. And it's gonna be a
long field. I don't care if they have two minutes left.
They need to get a first down first. They have
one first down the entire first half.

Speaker 4 (01:22:37):
Good punt.

Speaker 8 (01:22:38):
The Chiefs are gonna let it bounce, and it takes
an eagle bounce inside the ten. All right, So I
don't know if you guys caught what just happened that
the Fox cameras caught headed towards the sideline. Did you
see do you see aj Brown strowing a fit already
on the sideline.

Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
Imagine a diva wide receiver is acting up during a game.

Speaker 8 (01:22:55):
I just want to tell you, guys something. Mary was
very excited to see me. She had a big smile
on her face, and I had a big smile on
my face. But the smile just got brighter and happier. Whenever, oh,
they're showing Taylor Swift. Whenever they just realize we are
a minute forty nine away from the halftime show Mary,
that's that's that's she just she was glowing.

Speaker 3 (01:23:14):
Man.

Speaker 8 (01:23:14):
Whenever she that is compting zone at halftime, that's right.
Oh wow, they marked that out at the six yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
Casey starts the final driver of the first half.

Speaker 8 (01:23:23):
There you you start trying to get the running game
going or something here, aren't he Nope.

Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
Now you're passing the ball. You don't have time to
mess around other interception. Wow, reception Zach Bawn. Wow, And
that was I mean, that was just a bad.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Throw over the middle, underthrown.

Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
I mean, they're worst game in Patrick Mahomes NFL history.

Speaker 3 (01:23:41):
Can I emphasize guys that coming into this game, neither
quarterback had thrown an interception in a very long time,
and now we have three total in the first half.
Diving interception by Zach ball and oh and he caught it.
He did have the hands.

Speaker 2 (01:23:53):
Friends, Like, what am I supposed to do? Mahome just
gonna takes care of everything. I don't know what to do.

Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
They're in the red zone already to start this drive
and Philadelphia's already up seventeen.

Speaker 2 (01:24:05):
You're thinking touchdown right here, my friend, you're going to
throw it away? Dude?

Speaker 4 (01:24:10):
They score touchdown here?

Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
Game over again.

Speaker 3 (01:24:12):
Start singing. Don Meredith is singing somewhere by the way,
Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (01:24:17):
Did he catch that ball? Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
Hit the ground it answer. Patrick Mahomes had not thrown
an interception in almost three hundred pass attempts in a
row was due, and now he's thrown two in the
first half, one that led directly to a touchdown, the
pick six, and now one that could. By the way,
neither Hurtz nor Maholmes had thrown any interceptions since before Thanksgiving,

(01:24:39):
and now we've got three pix total in the first half.

Speaker 8 (01:24:42):
All right, So here we go, one to go in
the first half, seventeen zero Philadelphia. Hurts is going to
keep it from his own fourteen If you're Kansas City,
are using any timeouts here?

Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
They just did?

Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:24:56):
Only one remaining for Casey.

Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
I'm watching the replay. They're just sweats, just winning. He's
just winning.

Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
Christ you are the offensive line on the left side.

Speaker 2 (01:25:08):
What's to win percentage?

Speaker 3 (01:25:09):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
For Philadelphia?

Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
He loves that stack. I know, I love that.

Speaker 4 (01:25:13):
I am.

Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
I'm right at what ninety six percent?

Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
I have?

Speaker 2 (01:25:16):
You have?

Speaker 4 (01:25:17):
Ninety six percent?

Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
Yeah, ninety six point one.

Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
He's right, and everybody is assuming points on this drive
before halftime. But for Kansas City, as awesome as they
have been with the wins and losses in recent years,
it's stunning to me how bad the play has been
at tackle, and not just a game or two, I
mean like for more than just this year. They have
a guy that's mercifully the last few games been inactive

(01:25:40):
and not playing tackle at all, because sometimes when he
was on the field he looked like he was inactive.
But for a team this good, to be that bad
at such you know that's a glamour position, left tackle,
right out loud. I just can't believe it.

Speaker 4 (01:25:54):
Touchdown AJ Brown?

Speaker 3 (01:25:57):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
Wow? Remember he was my MVP too. Hey, great route,
great play call, too, way to be old.

Speaker 8 (01:26:03):
I was looking up Joshu sweats stats, the FSU product.

Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
That leading tackling.

Speaker 8 (01:26:08):
He's a leading tackler and has a sack and another half. Oh,
they just lost AJ Brown.

Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
Twelve yard TD reception extra point will make it twenty
four nothing Eagles at the half.

Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
Why do I buy like ten squares and my numbers
are like eight and eight and stuff like that. I
don't understand that. I Well figure it out.

Speaker 3 (01:26:27):
Well, they're going to have to go for two now
the rest of the night. Kansas City. There you got true.
Of course, I need to point out you probably need
a first down first before you can start thinking touch Jeff.

Speaker 2 (01:26:37):
It's thirteen first downs to one, Sirianni's celebrating already. I'm
kind of confused.

Speaker 3 (01:26:42):
Yeah, that's what your speech have to be, is that
it's not over.

Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
I was listening this morning to Brian No.

Speaker 8 (01:26:49):
That's show Cracks on, right, And Yeah, Jeff Schwartz and
one of the guys I don't remember if it was
Jeff or if it was Cracker, if it was No
had talked about that there is some value if you
believe that the Eagles were going to win with some
I guess the term would be alternative lines, because there
is a belief that, hey, if Philadelphia is going to

(01:27:10):
win this thing, they're going to win this thing.

Speaker 4 (01:27:13):
It's not right.

Speaker 8 (01:27:15):
Yeah, And they talked about having some lines that were
as big as like six, eight or nine that they
had taken with great value with the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (01:27:23):
That which is what Steve Hartman's been saying the last
couple of weekends. He didn't see this as close. He
saw Philly winning. You know, Arnie and I we were
talking pregame here and I said, there, I know it's
on paper, but there's really no way that Philadelphia should
lose this game. They have the better roster The only
thing that scared me is if it's close in the
fourth quarter. This one may not be close in the

(01:27:44):
fourth quarter, So let's just throw out the mahomestat for now.
We ahead the exact numbers. When he falls behind by
double digits in any game, he has the best winning
percentage since twenty eighteen playoffs included. It's nineteen and fourteen.
It's just stunning that he even has a winning record
win down double digits in any game. But this is
twenty four to nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
I'll tell you twenty four to nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:28:08):
That's a fair question.

Speaker 8 (01:28:09):
I wish it was a lot, but unfortunately I'm here
to tell you that it isn't. I wonder how things
are going on Twitter. Coming up at halftime. We're going
to spend our time getting your reaction to the first
half with your tweets at Stinking Genius one. I'm at
Plank Show. Everybody make sure they follow at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (01:28:26):
And you want to know what's really going on?

Speaker 4 (01:28:27):
Yeah, what's what's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
Man?

Speaker 6 (01:28:28):
Such a poltle.

Speaker 7 (01:28:29):
They have this thing going on right nob and really
really ticked off. So basically, every time two point conversion,
something extra happens in the game, they throw out a code.
It's been three times. I've put in the code three times,
you guys, and the bots are winning and I'm not
getting any You get a free ball, Yes, you get

(01:28:50):
a free bowl if you're able to put in. They've
had four codes out. It's fifty thousand codes, and so
they're putting it throughout the game and I have.

Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
Not gone and you should at least have got I've put.

Speaker 6 (01:29:01):
In three on time, mind you.

Speaker 7 (01:29:03):
I literally I don't have any notifications on for my phone.
I turn it on for Twitter and what I tell you,
and I'm on Twitter right now, refreshing like a mad.

Speaker 4 (01:29:12):
Woman, just crazy, like a mad woman.

Speaker 7 (01:29:14):
I'm putting it as soon as the tweet drops one second,
I'm texting it and I'm not getting it.

Speaker 6 (01:29:20):
That's my beat. That's what's going on.

Speaker 2 (01:29:22):
You go, Wow, who knew, you know what?

Speaker 8 (01:29:25):
I would be so angry just because I would get
excited thinking I'm gonna win, that I'm gonna I.

Speaker 2 (01:29:31):
Thought you would make it.

Speaker 6 (01:29:32):
I was screaming because I can't get a freaking code.

Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
I can confirm that.

Speaker 8 (01:29:35):
By the way, hone is this just I mean disager
said it earlier and I wasn't ever doubting you, Steve Disager.
All the books back out, Oh, Nick Serry, someone gave
it to him as a joke.

Speaker 3 (01:29:47):
Okay, the Inner Piece book.

Speaker 8 (01:29:49):
Yeah, that somehow shot to number one on the on
the book.

Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
There were three hundred thousands when fifty million people are
watching the telecast of the wide receiver reading the book
on the sidelines. Yes, it sold a few copies. Yeah,
but by the way, this is the largest Chief Super
Bowl deficit even the games.

Speaker 4 (01:30:06):
They got the Buccaneers game to.

Speaker 3 (01:30:08):
The game against the Bucks in the third quarter, they
went down by nineteen and lost by twenty two. They're
down twenty four zip at the moment the final in
Super Bowl One at the Coliseum, which was not a sellout,
by the way, not on local TV that day. They
eventually lost by twenty five, but that didn't you know,
that deficit didn't come till much later in the day.

(01:30:31):
So we got a minute and a half left in
the first half, Chiefs, with the ball approaching their own forty.
We'll see about a holding penalty here.

Speaker 8 (01:30:38):
Though, immediately one of the Eagles defensive back started pointing
them back to the line of scrimmage. Holding on Kansas City.
So even I mean, that would be a nine yard
game to be their biggest probably game of the first
half to ten back or yeah, Trent Smith call.

Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
He's gonna still have to keep pushing forward. You can't
start being conservative. My goodness, they got obvious, I'll tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
So.

Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
You know they gave up that penalty when it was
like second to twenty six. What right, What a horrible
penalty that was.

Speaker 3 (01:31:07):
It's again stunning that the line of scrimmage isn't better
for Kansas City's offense, specifically the offensive lineman, because it
reminds me in college football when Bobby Bowden had all
those great teams and couldn't get a kicker and they
kept losing games.

Speaker 8 (01:31:20):
They can't do anything, man, even trying to set up
to screen to samajp right, I was going to say
to Seger that I would never question you, I would
never doubt you. But when you said the Eagles are
just the more talented team, there was a moment where
my brain would not compute that a team with Patrick
Mahomes wouldn't be the best team. Right, in fact, that
can be, but you're right, they have the better roster

(01:31:41):
at top to.

Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
Bottom yeah, and go by just position groups. Look how
much better the Eagles secondary is this season compared to
two years ago when they advanced in the Super Bowl.
And I will add that it was just about overtime
against Kansas City, even as it was in the Super Bowl.
Even though they wound up giving up thirty eight points
in that game, Philadelphia is better than two years ago.
A win in this game would put Philly's final record

(01:32:04):
at eighteen and three. Kansas City would end at seventeen
and three.

Speaker 8 (01:32:09):
Mahomes numbers are It's like it's wrong, five of twelve,
twenty four yards and two picks.

Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
He just cause Carson Wentz's numbers or something.

Speaker 8 (01:32:18):
Yeah, I was about ready to say it's third down.
He's kind of walking a little bit gimpy too.

Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
Hallywood Brown a catch.

Speaker 8 (01:32:25):
Yeah, So you know, I wonder if they're and they're
in no rush whatsoever. One O five, one oh four.

Speaker 3 (01:32:30):
So field goal range. If you're still fifteen to twenty
yards out, do you go ahead and go forward at
the end of the first half and keep Mahomes on
the field, or do you at least get something since
you're down twenty four? Is it make it twenty four
to three.

Speaker 8 (01:32:43):
That's a good question. They got to convert this third
down first. I gotta significant forty four seconds left in
the first half from their own twenty nine yard line.
The Chiefs are facing a third and eleven. They're in
no rush whatsoever. Mahomes getting flushed out of the pocket
again and a dropped I mean, boy, even when he
had DeAndre Hopkins wide open, no one was around him.

(01:33:05):
And it's just it's that kind of day. I mean, no,
you can't be.

Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
More open than that. That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:33:12):
So this might be five punts in the first half
for Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (01:33:15):
Arnie if he there's nobody even close to him.

Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
I catch that ball, seriously, that was it a little
bit out in front of him, breakdown.

Speaker 3 (01:33:24):
It went off his left arm, left hand as he
was sliding.

Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
Patrick Mahomes has to make sure that he just does
it right in the middle of his gud, even if
he's got to sit down there. You you can't even
lead him on that play, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:33:35):
Okay, So this is what the offense is gonna These
are the stats for halftime for Kansas City's offense. Twenty plays,
twenty three yards, one first down.

Speaker 8 (01:33:44):
Wow, my goodness, all right, Philadelphia here, you don't want
to risk anything, right.

Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
No, no, no, nothing at all.

Speaker 8 (01:33:50):
So do you just sit on it or do you
try to maybe get in a field goal territory?

Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
You do have the ball, what it's a thirty seven.

Speaker 4 (01:33:57):
And you got two timeouts.

Speaker 3 (01:33:59):
I get twenty five yards in twenty five seconds.

Speaker 2 (01:34:01):
I think I could do that. Maybe I'm gonna be conservative,
throw a screenplay to Barkley or or give the ball
to Barkley. See if you get break one, and then
maybe I'll take it.

Speaker 8 (01:34:08):
After that, I will say that the Lincoln Riley, if
I can go back to studying and knowing the Lincoln
Riley is you would run the first play and if
you get a big game on that first down, run
now the first down you get the time with stop.

Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
In college, you don't have, and Philly has two timeouts
left right.

Speaker 8 (01:34:26):
So maybe you have a play where it's one of
those design quarterback runs or getting Barkley on the edge,
and then if you get something, all right, look out,
let's let's let's get going and to see if we can.

Speaker 2 (01:34:35):
They're going for it now going down field.

Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
But the running backs haven't been able to run. So
that's the negative for Philadelphia.

Speaker 8 (01:34:42):
Look at those numbers for Jalen Hurts eleven of fifteen,
one hundred and twenty three yards and a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (01:34:48):
The pick worked like just a deep punt. All right.

Speaker 8 (01:34:50):
They're gonna run it to Saquon much as you brought
up to Saga. Not much there, and Philly's gonna sit
on this.

Speaker 4 (01:34:57):
Yep.

Speaker 8 (01:34:58):
I think it's smart. I think it's You're in control
right now. Don't turn the football over. You know, Kansas
City is gonna get the ball to start the second half.
If Saquon busts that big run. All right, maybe we
have another conversation.

Speaker 2 (01:35:11):
Oh the story.

Speaker 4 (01:35:12):
Absolutely he didn't. And here we are, all right, let's break.

Speaker 8 (01:35:15):
It is halftime of the Super Bowl and the Chiefs
are dominating, are getting dominated, and the Philadelphia Eagles are
putting on a show. We're gonna bring you first half highlights.
We're gonna Mary's gonna be all over the halftime show
and we'll get a review.

Speaker 2 (01:35:29):
Right, doesn't come back? Can we do his TV show?

Speaker 8 (01:35:31):
Or is that if Nick Wright doesn't come back, Arnie
can do his TV show?

Speaker 2 (01:35:34):
Nice?

Speaker 8 (01:35:34):
Nice? It is all Philadelphia right now. They leaded halftime
of the Super Bowl by a score of twenty four
to zero, and we're talking about it with Arnie and
Plank on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's Arni and
Plank super Bowl show here on Fox Sports Radio with
a stinking genius. I'm Chris Plank. Did I say that

(01:35:56):
Steve de Sega is in tonight as he always is?
Patrick's week Our producer Mary Mack is ready. She is
ready for the halftime show. A big shout out to
Brandon Ian Brianna all back there making sure we the
highlight you here coming in out of breaks, and that
de Seger will play are from all angles.

Speaker 4 (01:36:17):
We've got the.

Speaker 8 (01:36:17):
Eagles Radio Network, got the Fox, got the Fox thank
Oh yea, that's right, I got the Fox Call, got
National Radio gut.

Speaker 4 (01:36:24):
Of course, the chiefs are Eagles and chiefs.

Speaker 3 (01:36:27):
Many chiefs Radio Network highlights.

Speaker 8 (01:36:29):
At this Pointrianna's kind of got a night off back
theres Kendrick Lamar, I'm so bummed the bum Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:36:34):
They actually they have the GNX car behind.

Speaker 2 (01:36:37):
What that was?

Speaker 4 (01:36:38):
I said, who look there, Monty Carlo.

Speaker 6 (01:36:39):
Okay, you guys, sorry, I'm gonna show.

Speaker 8 (01:36:41):
Okay, Mary's out. She's gonna be telling us to buy
the Kendrick Lamar's show. Okay, bye buddy, we'll see in
a bit Mary Well.

Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
Is there any value in the props for the halftime
what he's going to play or no?

Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
I don't know. There was a whole bunch of stuff.
I have no idea what one is to the other.
I did have the over in the national anthem that
went over by a second. I don't know if you
heard about that.

Speaker 4 (01:37:03):
Oh I didn't hear that? Was that.

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
Two minutes over? There was one hundred and twenty seconds,
so two minutes I went to two oh one. But
you know, somebody will say, well, it didn't stop here
or didn't start there. So I want to see what
the final verdict is on something like that. And I
believe the uh the the uh gatorade was gonna be purple,
but that's not gonna happen now because Kansas City's not

(01:37:26):
gonna win.

Speaker 8 (01:37:27):
I love just being able to hear. I am not
shutting the door in the studio so you can hear
Mary in the studio.

Speaker 3 (01:37:33):
I could hear that h and.

Speaker 8 (01:37:34):
Then every so often you'll hear and by the way,
thanks to Ricky and Ryan Birschinger, who are also up here,
helping out. You'll hear brand like Brandon and Ian. That's
the fraternity house back there. I mean, every single play
that happens, it's like, whoa dude, bro, so I gotta
go hang. I turned my hat around backwards so I
could be cool like him in past. But hey, guys,
let's break this down. Well for the non lovers of

(01:37:56):
the halftime show, let's break down what we learned in
the first half. I mean, Arnie, let's just start to say,
let's just start the obvious domination, just pure domination at
the line of scrimmage, right, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:38:07):
Well, first though, they're able to get pressure on Mahomes
with just four players, four people rushing, which is very important.
I I don't have to worry about a blitz or
Mahomes picking them apart as if you come with five,
he does destroy you. This is the best job I
think I've ever seen a defense do against Mahomes in
his entire career. This is just absolutely phenomenal. They have
him back out his heels. He's I haven't seen him

(01:38:29):
throw this many bad passes in a long long time,
especially to Travis Cuzsey, the two that he was kind
of open. He is looking bad out there. I don't
see a comeback in this situation at all.

Speaker 1 (01:38:41):
I do not.

Speaker 3 (01:38:41):
And keep in mind Mahomes had not thrown an interception
in about his last three hundred pass attempts going back
before Thanksgiving until the two picks he has thrown in
the first half tonight, including a pick six Cooper Dejen
scoring on his birthday for Philadelphia. The rookie got into
the end zone defensive back. Normally we expect a lot
of points in Kansas City. This season's Kansas City team

(01:39:03):
did not score over thirty points in any game in
the regular season, and yet they wound up with the
best record. The defense is that much improved in the
last couple of couple of years for Casey. They allowed
under twenty points a game this year, for example, But
they're down twenty four to nothing against Philadelphia with the
number one defense. So even they've got the best running

(01:39:24):
back and the running backs have been held in check
clearly so far, Philadelphia is still up big.

Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
You know, we always talk about certain teams and if
their window of opportunity is closed, sometimes that window closes.
Even though it was wide open in the morning, Boom,
it was just go ahead and shut You're like, oh
my goodness, what happened? Was The reason I bring that
up is because Kansas City. Can you imagine if they
get blown out, Causey says, you know what, I've had enough,
I'm going to retire. They really don't have a great

(01:39:50):
running game, They didn't have a great offense this year.
All of a sudden things kind of and all that.
The vision is looking a lot harder than it was
this year. Does it mat or walk?

Speaker 3 (01:39:58):
Can all the old Pac ten Co if they're in
that division now? As well as far as Kansas City
looking at every.

Speaker 8 (01:40:04):
By the way is flat out getting down right now
putting on the show. Her and Patrick are having a
dance part Kendrake Kendrick Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (01:40:13):
I think it's more likely that Kelsey comes back if
they get blown out tonight. Actually, but if you look
at the opponents that each team has, the exact schedule
doesn't come out until perhaps May. Kansas City's going to
be hosting Detroit, Philadelphia next season, Washington and Baltimore. Granted
those are all home games and it's a very loud stadium,
but that's not an easy schedule that Kansas City is

(01:40:35):
going to have. They with part of your success is
you don't get the advantage of last play schedule, which
is something Jim Arba had this year.

Speaker 8 (01:40:42):
Right, you want some numbers, yes, all right? Individually and
I don't know what do they have half of Samuel L.
Jackson just showed up at a halftime show. I don't
know if they have halftime Is that who that is?
It is Samuel Jackson.

Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
He's in everything, even the halftime show.

Speaker 8 (01:40:58):
I don't know what song is because right now I
was going to tell you that that's what it was,
because I'd done my studying.

Speaker 3 (01:41:05):
Oh, I got an answer to one of the Arnie's questions.
He says, for Patrick Maholmes, this is the first time
that in the first half of a game, regular season
or playoffs, he has thrown two interceptions and taken three seconds.
What happened to him tonight has never happened in a
first half in his pro career, and in fact, there
are only two quarterbacks since nineteen ninety one who've had

(01:41:25):
a half like that. Rich Gannon in the Super Bowl
against the Bucks is one of a Jim Kelly in
the Super.

Speaker 2 (01:41:30):
Bowl against Gee. Guess that one.

Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
Two in the Super Bowl with a half like this
I am.

Speaker 8 (01:41:36):
It was funny because just to kind of let you know,
chief fans something you might want to try. It didn't
work for me, but I'm gonna throw it out there.
I'm a diehard Raiders fan. So after that first half
the Sega, after that first half, Arnie, I repositioned every
single piece of furniture in my living room and I
moved the couch to where I always wanted the couch
to sit in front of the TV.

Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
So what didn't help, and we didn't know that at
the time, was that the Raiders didn't change any of
their tuminology going up against John and their former coach.

Speaker 4 (01:42:01):
And apparently whenever they're center.

Speaker 8 (01:42:04):
I don't think it was Bar around, it was whenever
he got around, they completely just changed their game plan.
It's like bar it's not going to be here, all right,
We're changing our game.

Speaker 3 (01:42:10):
But kept make sure to keep the terminology so d
that can actually yell to you play. By the way,
in Super Bowl history, no team has pitched a shutout
in the first half and wound up losing a Super Bowl.
If you shout out your opponents in the first half
of the Super Bowl, you literally always win.

Speaker 2 (01:42:27):
Thirteen win percentage ninety eight point four for Philadelphia at
this point. Think about that, they're playing Kansas City and
the game's only at a half time and it's ninety
eight point four.

Speaker 8 (01:42:37):
So here's those stats real quick before we get to
the Saga's update. Quarterback comparison, Jalen Hurts eleven to fifteen,
one hundred and twenty three yards a touchdown, one pick
ended up working almost like a punt, and he's been
sacked once. Mahomes, you heard the Saga breaking it down.
Sacked three times, two picks six or fourteen for thirty
three yards two point four yards per completion, three carries

(01:42:59):
three yard for the oak What am I saying for
the Kansas City chief running attack?

Speaker 2 (01:43:04):
Meanwhile?

Speaker 8 (01:43:05):
Not much better for Philadelphia only two point seven yards
per carry, but they're staying with it. Twenty three carries
sixty two yards. Anything else that's jumping out here.

Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
Kansas City not only only has one first down tonight,
Kansas City has yet to convert a third down oh
of six on third down.

Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
And Barkley's not playing great. Twelve carries thirty one yards
and they're up twenty four to nothing. If you would
have told me that before the game, I said, Philadelphia's done.

Speaker 8 (01:43:28):
And of course the one we've been watching NonStop time
of possession nineteen fifty nine for Philadelphia, ten oh one
for Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (01:43:35):
Take it away to saga. What else we got?

Speaker 3 (01:43:37):
I'll add that one of our producers, Jason Stewart, has
tweeted out going into halftime, it could be worse for
Patrick Mahomes. He could be Drake for the next ten minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:43:46):
That's a good point, Jay Stoo.

Speaker 3 (01:43:48):
It is halftime, twenty four nothing, Eagles in the lead
over the two time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Kansas City has now been in the Super Bowl five
times in in the last six years. They are getting
their doors blowed off. In the first half, it's thirteen
first downs to one. So before you can even start

(01:44:08):
to think about this game being winnable, you're gonna have
to put a drive together, and realistically you're gonna have
to put four good drives together. The Chiefs are way
behind in this Super Bowl, twenty four to nothing, and
it feels like more. Second drive of the nights was
a touchdown for Philly, and in the first quarter it
was a nine first downs to one advantage. Jalen Hurts

(01:44:30):
did throw that interception early second quarter the pressure from
Nick Bolton, but next possession for Philly a field goal
to go up ten nothing, then the pick six seventeen
to nothing mid second quarter, by halftime twenty four to nothing.
The Eagles, by the way, activated defensive end Brandon Graham,
who had triceps surgery in November. He has gotten into
this game. Travis Kelcey, believe it or not, is playing.

(01:44:53):
He has no receptions at the half. He's been targeted
twice for KC. The NBA All Star Saturday Night is
this coming weekend. It will include in the three point
Contest the two time defending champ there Damian Lillard. Lillard
in Milwaukee today had forty three points as the Bucks
beat Philadelphia one thirty five, won twenty seven. Joel Embiid
did play for Philly twenty seven points in the loss.

(01:45:15):
Houston ended a six game losing streak beating Toronto ninety
four eighty seven. Detroit beat Charlotte won twelve one oh
two College basketball wins in the top twenty for Memphis
and Maryland women's hoops Number one UCLA is twenty three
to oh after winning at Oregon, but number two ranks.
South Carolina lost at number four Texas sixty six sixty two.
In women's hoops today, South Carolina had won fifty seven

(01:45:38):
straight conference games. Texas goes into the conference and beats them.

Speaker 2 (01:45:42):
Today.

Speaker 3 (01:45:43):
NHL wins for Utah in a shootout, and for Tampa Bay,
Thomas Detrie took the Phoenix open by seven strokes. Keike
Hernandez says he's resigning with the Dodgers and the Jets
are moving on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers halftime Show continues
twenty four to nineing Eagle the Leader.

Speaker 8 (01:46:00):
Thanks to Sega with Arnie Spanier, I'm Chris Plank for
taking you through the Super Bowl here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (01:46:06):
Singing sissss singing right now, you don't even know who
his is.

Speaker 2 (01:46:12):
I have a pair. Please don't run with that.

Speaker 8 (01:46:17):
Yeah, yeah, and and and you know what, Arnie, I
don't mind that joke.

Speaker 4 (01:46:22):
It's well done.

Speaker 6 (01:46:23):
Now they're playing all the Stars beautiful.

Speaker 4 (01:46:26):
Has it been as expected so far?

Speaker 7 (01:46:28):
Mary?

Speaker 4 (01:46:28):
As a mid point halftime show update.

Speaker 6 (01:46:31):
Yeah, I kind of knew. I was, like knowing Kendrick.

Speaker 7 (01:46:33):
He's not going to start out with like a superbanger
song is probably gonna be a B side, and I
was kind of right.

Speaker 2 (01:46:38):
So I'm talking about salt and pepper. That's why it's
like old school.

Speaker 8 (01:46:41):
Will continue to watch and get us update and whenever
it's done, because I can't wait for what Arnie's next
reaction is going to be to it. So far, it's
a beautiful aesthetic. I just can't hear anything because we're
on the air.

Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
I feel it's kind of like the Squid Games. I'm
waiting for something that happens. They're worrying like those. Overall,
it's the Red, white.

Speaker 6 (01:46:59):
And Blue, not even watching.

Speaker 3 (01:47:01):
Yeah, the Field of Stars, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 8 (01:47:04):
See Okay, all right, a couple of quick tweets before
we continue the halftime coverage of the super Bowl complete
total domination. Right now by Philadelphia, Arnie's going to be
talking about, I don't know, some Law and Order episode
before we get out of here, Colin writes, after the
first half, I know this. The NFL can't afford to
put the super Bowl on pay per view. They can

(01:47:25):
just add another half hour of overpriced commercials.

Speaker 2 (01:47:28):
A lot of commercials there. Every break is like, what's
seven to eight minutes or so? It's incredible, Gunny rights.

Speaker 8 (01:47:35):
Maybe some of us just have the TV controlled by
a one year old and don't mind listening to you
guys break down the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:47:41):
Okay, got you.

Speaker 2 (01:47:42):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (01:47:43):
By the way, we can add to the ineptitude of
the Kansas City. So the first member I had looked
up that what's the fewest first downs for a team
and a whole game? That's the Super Bowl. It's nine. Well,
we're halfway through the game and Kansas City has one
first down. In fact, the last time anybody had only
one first down in a Super Bowl and this is
the record for fewest in a first half. If you

(01:48:04):
win the Bears blew out the Patriots Super Bowl twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:48:07):
If if Kansas City comes back to win this game,
they may run Serrianni out of town. I mean, geez,
can you imagine?

Speaker 3 (01:48:14):
Yeah, it seems unthinkable at this.

Speaker 2 (01:48:16):
Point, right right, but you never know, especially when it's
not running him out of town.

Speaker 3 (01:48:20):
I mean the coming back part.

Speaker 4 (01:48:23):
I do like Karneie, you're like one of them.

Speaker 6 (01:48:25):
He's performing, not like us.

Speaker 4 (01:48:26):
By the way, okay, now everyone's going to be oh.

Speaker 3 (01:48:29):
Which was played over and over in the Dodger locker
room through the playoff, which this guy.

Speaker 4 (01:48:34):
It worked, they won, keep playing it. What was I
going to say? Oh?

Speaker 8 (01:48:39):
You know, the interesting thing is you're trying to sell
people that this is still a game when you're like, hey,
you know, you never know. If he loses it, they're
going to try to kick him out of here. But
in your heart of hearts, you know this is over
in your mind right, well it is.

Speaker 2 (01:48:51):
It's ninety eight. I will at the win percentage. It's
ninety eight percent. But that doesn't mean that you can't
come out score a touchdown. I get a two porter,
it's twenty four eight. All of a sudden, it's a
little bit of a game. Now you gotta worry about.

Speaker 3 (01:49:01):
What's predictable is Rob Parker on the air with The
Odd Couple Show tomorrow, completely negating anything good Patrick Mahomes
has ever done in its career. He's been waiting. It's
just like Barnie was waiting for so many years for
Tom Brady finally stop stop winning games, and then, of course,
inevitably it finally happened. The same thing. As far as

(01:49:21):
what Rob Parker has been waiting for from Mahomes.

Speaker 8 (01:49:24):
Oh he is he is raty in fact, he might
is he coming on? He might show up here in
the studios and just come on after us.

Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
But you know, well, we'll get rid of that tired
narrative that you need to have a Patrick Mahomes at quarterback.
You need to have the best quarterback in the NFL
to take it to the Super Bowl and win the
Super Bowl every year. Jalen Hurts is far from me.
What top ten quarterback in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
If your demants is dominant enough, it could be Jim
McMahon and Trent Dill for winnings.

Speaker 2 (01:49:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:49:50):
Absolutely, And this is the number one ranked defense in
the NFL, and Philadelphia is pitching a shout out at
the half.

Speaker 8 (01:49:56):
By the way, we are leading you into our post
game coverage, Mark Willard and Aaron Torres I was talking
to at yesterday, so we'll be able to touch. I'll
be I'll meet Aaron Torres in person before I meet you.
Warnie in that.

Speaker 2 (01:50:07):
Tores never talks to me. I don't know how you
get to be friendly with everybody. Nobody talks to me.

Speaker 8 (01:50:11):
Well, I always bugging to come on my radio shows
with me. That's why you're You're too busy for everyone, right, now.

Speaker 2 (01:50:17):
I'm very busy. I am very.

Speaker 8 (01:50:18):
Any other pinning prop bets or anything gambling wise, as
you've kind of seen that we need to be keeping
an eye on.

Speaker 4 (01:50:25):
I don't see people losing their mind too much right now.

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
No, but I did have the over Elliot one and
a half field goals made, so I do need another
field goal right on that one. Yeah, mahomes I took
the over in his passing at times thirty six in
the second half. He's obviously going to pass it a lot,
but I don't know if I'm going to reach that number.
That's still a lot of number and he's not going
to go over two hundred and fifty two yards passing
a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (01:50:47):
Took another great start for Arnie from Associated Press about
how bad this has been the first half of the
Chiefs offense. Twenty three yards, fewest for the Chiefs in
a first half of any game since Alex Smith's final
season as a starter.

Speaker 2 (01:51:03):
Oh wow wow.

Speaker 3 (01:51:05):
So this what we're seeing tonight basically has not happened.

Speaker 8 (01:51:09):
I don't know if there's been the smart x and
oh people on the internet on the Twitter machine that
have seen anything. But I don't know if there's anything special.
I think you hit it on the head earlier with
this Eagle defense, Arnie. They're just winning at the line
of scrimmage. There's really no other way to put it.

Speaker 2 (01:51:26):
If you're Patrick Mahomes and you end up losing this game,
it's just a fifty nothing for argument, Say what do
you yell at management for? Is the number one thing
you want next year? Another offensive lineman? Or what for?

Speaker 3 (01:51:37):
Cryout?

Speaker 4 (01:51:40):
Yeah, gotta go get embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
I'm not kidding this, and I would have said I
did say this before the Super Bowl. It's embarrassing that
a team this good doesn't have a line that's better. Interior,
offensive line great, amazing outside, that's so much what are
we doing here? Patrick Mahomes's rate of getting pressured was
actually higher than his rate of completing a pass in
the first half, because he was well under fifty percent completion,

(01:52:04):
and it was almost fifty percent pressure rate on Mahomes
in the first half.

Speaker 8 (01:52:08):
We're coming to you live from the tire rack dot
Com Studios tire rackt Blitz. By the way, Hay tire
buying should be OSSI was right, So let's not forget
about twenty eight to three guys, twenty eight to three
Falcons Patriots. This is Tom Brady, but it's Patrick Mahoon.
I know I'm kidding around.

Speaker 3 (01:52:27):
Well, Philadelphi is gonna have to shoot themselves in the foot.

Speaker 4 (01:52:29):
Oh, they're gonna have to make it.

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
Just like the Falcons did They did that?

Speaker 4 (01:52:32):
Yes, exactly, yes.

Speaker 8 (01:52:34):
And then nature boy, who's been on fire tonight, Rights,
the game is reminding me, reminding me of when Donovan
McNabb threw up on the field in the Philly Super Bowl.
Andy Reid. Yeah, oh and then I did like this
from Pauli. Rights, The refs really have their work cutout
for them in the second half.

Speaker 2 (01:52:47):
Yes, they do, Yes, they do. Man, they got to
save them now, thanks for watching along with us. It's
Arnie and Plank. We'll get a review of the halftime
show next on Fox Sports Radio. All right, Mary Mac
take center stage here.

Speaker 4 (01:52:59):
How was it? How was the show?

Speaker 7 (01:53:02):
So, if you're not a Kendrick fan, because I'm I'm
seeing and my friends are even mad at me right now,
because I think it's a great performance. If you know Kendrick,
you know Kendrick from having Samuel ash Samuel L. Jackson
played Uncle Sam and then also again Black History Month.
Everyone knows that again, Kendrick Lamar is the most political
person in terms of rap. So I think it's a

(01:53:23):
very beautiful well put. I mean having the dancers be
in the red, white and blue. I think, having the
stage set up as the Squid Games. I think having
all of it, all of it ties in together, having
the gn X and the whole set list being from
the new album because it is number one right now,
and on top of that he's about to go on tour.

Speaker 6 (01:53:41):
This was beautiful. I loved it personally.

Speaker 2 (01:53:44):
It was.

Speaker 7 (01:53:46):
It was, it was, It's Kendrick Lamar. It was definitely
on purpose, even having the Timothy Shallaman, Oh my God
beautifully play.

Speaker 8 (01:53:54):
Every single time that Mary mentioned something from it, Patrick
can attest to this, suddenly there is another like squirrels.

Speaker 4 (01:54:00):
She's like, oh, and then there's.

Speaker 6 (01:54:02):
This and then and then even I said it, I
said it off the air. But the Serena Williams cameo was.

Speaker 7 (01:54:07):
Very much planned and plotted because if you want to
go back into the beef and all of that, Drake
did date Serena Williams.

Speaker 6 (01:54:14):
He even mentions her in a song.

Speaker 3 (01:54:16):
And then on.

Speaker 6 (01:54:17):
Top of that, yes, then you have.

Speaker 7 (01:54:20):
Exactly exactly this is it all plays it, all plays it.
And then on top of that, if you guys are
also currently following, Drake is actually suing UMG and also
Spotify for in terms of having not like us that
specific part playing the lyric of the A minor and
all of that. And even he says it during the
Super Bowl formance, Oh, they're gonna want to sue me,
and then he goes, oh, you know what, I'm not

(01:54:41):
gonna do it, and then ends up going Haha, guess what,
I'm actually gonna do it and make thousands of people here,
even in the studio, in your homes, in the car,
in church, in your watch party, in the bars, in
wherever you're at, and then on top of that, in
the stadiums.

Speaker 6 (01:54:56):
Yelling out a min Oh you're you want completely what I.

Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
Was showing out a minor exactly.

Speaker 7 (01:55:02):
A matter of fact, let's throw up bombs for Kendrick.
There you go, beautifully done, There.

Speaker 8 (01:55:08):
You go, there's thumbs up. We're underway in the second half.
After the halftime performance by Kendrick Lamar, big big, massive
drive here for the Chiefs and Arni.

Speaker 4 (01:55:16):
They started out running the football down twenty four zep.

Speaker 2 (01:55:19):
They're already in four down territory, Chris. As it is
right now, there's not gonna be any puddy by the
Kansas City Chiefs. Anything was than for fourth down and
five yards ago right around midfield, they're gonna be going
for it.

Speaker 8 (01:55:30):
But here we're watching and they're getting some things going
by just finding space. Right, I get a couple of
yards on first down. They didn't really use Pacheco much
of the first half, and here he is prominently features
start the second half. But oh, just as I say that's,
Mahomes gets sacked. Hey, listen, those nice things I was

(01:55:52):
saying about the first few gains, forget about it. Yeah,
Mahomes goes down and he sacked for a short loss.

Speaker 4 (01:55:59):
I still do it.

Speaker 8 (01:56:00):
Almost seems as if this isn't real Looking at the
stats for Patrick Mahomes in the lower left hand corner
of the screen.

Speaker 2 (01:56:06):
Doing a good job in the secondary. Also have coverage,
so he has nowhere to go with the ball. But
he kind of got happy feet there. He didn't see
anything open his first progression. He just got the hell
out of that.

Speaker 8 (01:56:16):
And I think that's gotta be natural, right, whenever you've
been under as much pressure as he's been.

Speaker 4 (01:56:21):
All day long, all game long.

Speaker 2 (01:56:23):
Yeah, but he was a little too. You got a
happy feet in that when he's.

Speaker 8 (01:56:26):
Dead here too, he gets sacked again. Why sacks for
the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 2 (01:56:31):
We certainly hit the over by now, that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:56:33):
Man sweat is out. I mean, wow, making a case for.

Speaker 2 (01:56:39):
Can you say, what's wrong with the Kansas City Chiefs
after they only lost one game this year?

Speaker 3 (01:56:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:56:43):
I mean, what's wrong with the rest of the teams
in the AFC that they couldn't take advantage of?

Speaker 1 (01:56:47):
It?

Speaker 4 (01:56:47):
Might be the bigger question, true.

Speaker 2 (01:56:49):
I mean I told you it was a very exciting year.
Maybe it wasn't a good football year. I don't know.

Speaker 8 (01:56:55):
Maybe looking back well, and again, I mean, we still
got thirteen minutes and listen, I'm trying to say right now, Arnie,
we got two more hours left in our show. We
need something exciting to happen in this twenty dropbacks from
a homes He's been sacked five times and has been
pressured on ten of those drop backs, and he's gonna
get pressured again. Here rolls out third and seventeen, and

(01:57:16):
he's gonna go. Oh, he somehow stays in bounds. But
he's gonna go down well short of the first down.
I think he might have stepped out on the far
sideline right.

Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
No, well, he's still gonna be fourth down.

Speaker 4 (01:57:28):
It's still gonna be fourth and long. Well right away.

Speaker 8 (01:57:30):
You didn't get close enough to make a make a
play on fourth down, so they're gonna have to punt
it away.

Speaker 4 (01:57:35):
Oh my goodness, what is it?

Speaker 2 (01:57:36):
Fourth and one right now? Nine? Yeah, that's gonna be
a little bit too far. Though I would think about it.
I'd give it consideration, but you don't want to end
the game right now. That's what would happen.

Speaker 8 (01:57:47):
So the Kansas City Chiefs won the opening, won the
coin flip, decided to take the ball to start the
second half. I don't think there was any place on
the planet outside of the most diehard unsided Philadelphia Eagles
person bar watch party whatever that thought that when they
got the ball to start the second half they would

(01:58:07):
be down twenty four to zero.

Speaker 2 (01:58:09):
No right now, in a million years.

Speaker 8 (01:58:11):
Absolutely, Hey, if you're the Eagles here already and we
got a break, the Saka's gonna have an update coming
up here in just a bit. But I mean if
you're the Eagles, now's the time to get that running
game going, right.

Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
Yeah, I'm gonna go conservative a little bit. I know,
we just started the second half. I have twenty four points.
That's more than enough right now. It shows me the
Chiefs haven't done anything offensively, So I'm gonna run the ball.
See if i can get that at the worse of
at least, I'm going to true o'clock and I'm not
gonna turn it over. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:58:36):
And the numbers they almost seem like they're not real
with what the Chiefs defense are, what the Eagles defense
has been able to do to the Chiefs, and what
the Chiefs offense has been able to do in controlling
the line of scrimmage and the game time of possession,
even after that drive by the Kansas City Chiefs nineteen
minutes and fifty nine seconds for the Eagles, thirteen oh
one for Kansas City. And again, time of possession can

(01:58:59):
sometimes be a little bit misleading, Yeah, thank you not.
In this case, Eagles up thirteen first downs, the Chiefs
have two. Eagles are out gaining the Kansas City Chiefs
one seventy nine to thirty eight, and the Eagles will
have the football when we come back. It is all
Philadelphia in the Super Bowl Eagles twenty four Chiefs Zip.
We're talking about it on Fox Sports Radio. They're about

(01:59:24):
to put the nail in the coffin. With seven oh
nine to go in the third quarter. Saquon Barkley with
the bobbling snag, were gonna mark that at the four
yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:59:35):
They should make this like softball and just say run
roll None won the game.

Speaker 8 (01:59:40):
Welcome to a Super Bowl edition of Already in Plank
on Fox Sports Radio. The whole crew is here, Mary
mack Patrick, Swakup, Steve de Saga as the company live

Tire conm theway tire buying should be.

Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
I got a stat at halftime that proves that it
was game over in the history of the NFL, any
playoff game, not just Super Bowls, any NFL playoff game
if a team in the first half scored at least
seventeen points and pitched to shutout undefeated all time forty
three to zero. In a playoff game when you score
them seventeens, Wow, shut out the opponent in the first half,

(02:00:24):
which is what Philly did twenty four nothing in fact,
and this is how dominant the first half was against
Kansas City. Only one other team in Super Bowl history
had given up more points than they had yards gain.
Because Kansas City had twenty three net yards and gave
up twenty four points in the first half.

Speaker 2 (02:00:43):
Did we say this was eventually going to happen to
them with all those one possession games, that finally somebody
was going to take advantage of them and just go
ahead and win one of those games.

Speaker 3 (02:00:52):
Sure, but I don't think people can take victory laps
at this point because the stat is also an NFL record.
It's seventeen straight close games that Kansas City has won.
So our caveat pregame on this show tonight was if
it's close in the fourth quarter, hard time picking against Mahomes.
But the Eagles had the better ruster, But it's not
going to be close.

Speaker 2 (02:01:12):
It makes me feel like the Emperor has no close
because all of a sudden, I know how to beat
Kansas City. They don't scare me. Now I can't wait
to play them next year. The division's a lot better.
I don't think they're going to go ahead and waltz
through the AFC like they did.

Speaker 3 (02:01:26):
This year, and they will at play them next year.
We mentioned earlier on tonight's show that we know the opponents,
if not the exact schedule for next season, Philadelphia at
Kansas City next season.

Speaker 8 (02:01:36):
That looked like a bit of a late hit, but regardless,
it's going to be third and goal for the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (02:01:42):
Mahomes has just been awful. I mean, is anybody going
to criticize him or what? Todm Brady would never have
a game like this.

Speaker 4 (02:01:48):
Christ Jones just went down.

Speaker 8 (02:01:50):
Is taking his knee brace off's I think it's it
looks like he's trying to stretch something out and now
he's gonna put his knee brace back on.

Speaker 4 (02:01:58):
That was weird.

Speaker 3 (02:01:59):
He still see it though, and they've stopped playing, all.

Speaker 8 (02:02:01):
Right, So it's third and goal? What do you what
do you got that marked at six seven yard line?
Six six yard line after a big play from Jalen
Hurts to Saquon Barkley. Am I am I crazy talk?
Where I go ahead and I'm making this four down territory.

Speaker 2 (02:02:17):
No, no, no, you're gonna run the ball, kick the
field goal, go up twenty and they get one more
field goal to make it thirty. Nothing. I need the
over one and half field goals. What's wrong with you?

Speaker 3 (02:02:28):
There? It is?

Speaker 8 (02:02:29):
I was wondering where you got your one, so I
get your second one. Okay, I'll root for the field goal,
but the sega you're nodding because you think field goals
are right playing.

Speaker 3 (02:02:39):
Yeah, you don't have to score another touchdown the rest
of the night, in my opinion, I know, I just.

Speaker 8 (02:02:44):
Know, I know you want to end it now, and
I feel like Sirianni's kind of got that the Falcons,
and I think maybe the right move would be to
kick the field goal. Well, and again, they got a
third down play, and they've been pretty good on third
down in those situations.

Speaker 3 (02:02:57):
Put it this way, the Chiefs are going to need
four touchdown on drives, and right now they only have
two first downs in the whole game. And again, it's
just this is a mammoth deficit Kansas City's looking.

Speaker 8 (02:03:09):
I know, I know, I just I have seen this
movie so often, that's right, the only time I've watched
this movie and it ended differently, was incredibly similar to this.
Whenever Kansas City, you know, played the Buccaneers, Arnie that
whole game.

Speaker 3 (02:03:26):
I just ate pressure.

Speaker 8 (02:03:27):
Kansas City never seemed like they had a chance. Oh,
they don't have a chance here either, And it's like
the same feeling. But there's this party. It's like but
it's mahomes and you just never know.

Speaker 3 (02:03:36):
But it's like you remember in the past decade when
that incredible Denver offense, when Peyton Manning was blowing everybody's
doors off and they got to the Super Bowl and
got blown out by Seattle. It felt like it was
starting to be over after the first play in that turnover.

Speaker 2 (02:03:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:03:50):
But as far as Kansas City winning an NFL record
seventeen straight one possession games, and I guess on the
last team to actually win a game against Kansas City
when it was less.

Speaker 2 (02:04:01):
Oh oh oh, I know you in the corner, the
Las Vegas Raiders.

Speaker 3 (02:04:04):
That is correct, that Christmas game two years ago. That's
how long it's been.

Speaker 2 (02:04:08):
Years ago, long time ago. That's a lot of.

Speaker 3 (02:04:12):
Luck on your team. Yeah, it's a lot of blocks.
Seventeen times in a row. That kind of proves it's
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (02:04:19):
So how do way after a game like this? I
would really consider retirement if I'm Travis Kelcey, You're gonna
walk away. You can make a lot of money, You're
in a high profile relationship. What are you coming back for?
But because you don't like losing your last game, well
too damn bad. Not too many people get to go
out super Bowl winners, So I I would really consider

(02:04:41):
retirement if I'm him.

Speaker 3 (02:04:42):
It's a rare situation that he can make more money
than he would playing.

Speaker 2 (02:04:47):
It's not even about the money, though, I think with him,
it's if I missed football is the question.

Speaker 4 (02:04:52):
I think he put it well this week, Travis kelce
That is when he said, I set myself up, you know,
pretty good whenever comes to opportunities off the field. But
I'm with you already.

Speaker 1 (02:05:03):
I was.

Speaker 8 (02:05:04):
I was watching the I think it was Chris Berman
had a piece about all the teams that were going
for three straight Super Bowl titles, and I don't think
any of them ended up in a third straight Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (02:05:14):
Yes, the Chiefs are the first team to at least
make it back to the Super Bowl after their back
to back wins. Three others at least made it to
the conference title.

Speaker 2 (02:05:22):
He's made three Super Bowls in a row, didn't they
well with with a situation?

Speaker 3 (02:05:27):
No situation to win three in a row on the
third one? Yeah, nobody until this Chiefs team made it.
Even back the Steelers with Bradshaw had won two straight
and then lost to the Raiders AFC title. Niners nineteen
ninety lost NFC title to the Giants and the Cowboys
instead of a chance for three straight Super Bowls lost
to the Niners for the NFC title.

Speaker 2 (02:05:48):
Is Andy Reid gonna do anything different or is he
just gonna walk around like he he looks at that
chart like he's reading a menu. Well, it is like
I'll take the onion rings and.

Speaker 3 (02:05:57):
No, it's probably what he's thinking of.

Speaker 4 (02:05:58):
Oh my goodness, the old goal is good and straight through.
I think the Chiefs jumped it, and I think this
time they're going to get Kansas City. But I don't
know if you take points off.

Speaker 3 (02:06:08):
Or another false start like the controversial first test.

Speaker 4 (02:06:11):
Let's wait and see here, all righty, somebody is to
false start.

Speaker 3 (02:06:14):
There you go again already somebody has tweeted out, can
he Pickett could be getting a Super Bowl ring tonight?
The first from his draft class, the first quarterback from the.

Speaker 2 (02:06:22):
Twenty that's good.

Speaker 3 (02:06:24):
He might get some time in this game the way
things are going. By the way next Gen Stats is updated,
the Eagles pressure rate on Mahomes is now over fifty
percent in this game tonight. So back to your comment
about the Kansas City pressure against when they face Tampa Bay.

Speaker 8 (02:06:38):
You know, Brendan hit us up on Twitter during the show,
which is the best way to stay in touch with
the crew during this Super Bowl. Watch along. They're going
to rekick this field goal because it was motion on
the Eagles. Not a great snap, but Ellie and his money,
there's your over one and a half already, go there,
you go cash it in. Was that one of your locks?

Speaker 1 (02:06:56):
That was?

Speaker 2 (02:06:56):
Yeah, that was one of I put that out as
one of my prop bets.

Speaker 8 (02:07:00):
Good job of the game, Brendan Wright. My score prediction
is now out the window. I am never at ease
when Mahomes is the opposing quarterback, so I'm still not
feeling satisfied. But so far, the Eagles defense should be
the MVP of this game.

Speaker 3 (02:07:13):
Twenty seven nothing, Philadelphia, and we're already down to almost
five minutes left in the third quarter. The Chiefs, I
don't care if they're sensational the rest of the night.
I think they're running out of time already.

Speaker 2 (02:07:25):
The big stet that sticks out is the seven completions
for Pat Mahomes. Who would have thought that seven competetions?

Speaker 3 (02:07:31):
Put it this way for the offense, Kansas City's had
twenty five plays, thirty eight total yards net, the Chiefs
thirty eight yards. We're in the third quarter.

Speaker 4 (02:07:41):
Well, I'm going to tell you something.

Speaker 8 (02:07:42):
Those of you like yourself de Seger, you mentioned kudos
to Steve Hartman, the people that aren't afraid of the
big bad wolf, you know, like I am with Patrick
Mahomes every day. He's never gonna lose. You guys were
dead on about this Eagles roster, and they took some
chances on some guys, right listen, Jaalen Carter fell in
the to them because he had a speeding incident and

(02:08:03):
had a couple of the Raider sures that couldn't have
drafted him after what had just happened to Henry Rhys.

Speaker 3 (02:08:07):
Was not a top five pick. You look Sad Bond
signing at linebacker. Sensationally, he's had I saw field the
eights tweet. He's had a forced turnover in every single
game of the playoffs so far. How about not having
good enough cornerbacks in the Super Bowl two years ago
and now drafting two.

Speaker 2 (02:08:24):
Corners everyone down? Yeah, not only one.

Speaker 3 (02:08:27):
Got the pick six tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:08:28):
Nature Boy brings up a good point. Is that Andy
Reid on the sudl or is that the fake Andy
Reid impersonator? You can't tell them apart, you really can't.

Speaker 8 (02:08:36):
I wish it's the letter, I think, yeah, exactly. I
think the real Andy Reid is like, Okay, where's that
guy that looks like me? Get him out of here now?

Speaker 2 (02:08:42):
Yeah? Just switch with you, right, get him out here now,
right now?

Speaker 4 (02:08:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (02:08:46):
I just I don't think there's any way you've got
to hope that the Philadelphia Eagles shoot themselves in the foot, right.

Speaker 3 (02:08:53):
Yeah, it's Kurt Hurts has got to drop a fumble
like he did in the first half a couple of
years ago, but in fact, Jalen Hurts now a list
of players that in Super Bowls have had at least
one hundred and fifty yards passing at least fifty yards rushing,
a touchdown pass and a touchdown run in the big game.
Jalen Hurts has done that in both his Super bowls.
Colin Kaepernick did it in his and Joe Montana did

(02:09:15):
it once. Those are the only quarterbacks who've had that
kind of variety and production and Hurts again, it's a
rare thing to even lose your first Super Bowl and
even get back. The last nineteen quarterbacks who lost their
Super Bowl for Super Bowl start hadn't even been back
for a second Super Bowl start. Jalen Hurt's first Super
Bowl game was two years ago. It looked like he's

(02:09:37):
going to be in the win column tonight. The last
QB who even got back for a second chance was
Jim Kelly, and of course he lost four chances in
a row.

Speaker 8 (02:09:44):
Wow, twenty seven zero, already five to eighteen to go
in the third quarter. All right, let's just play the
how do what does it look like for the Chiefs
to get back in this game?

Speaker 2 (02:09:53):
Like? How do it? Short drives, have a couple of
big plays that you hit right, Yeah, yeah, they're going
to go ahead, play back. They're not gonna get get
anything deep, So you'll take anything short and over the
middle five to ten yards and you're gonna go for
it on fourth down, but it's twenty seven nothing.

Speaker 3 (02:10:07):
And Kelsey needs to turn the five ten yards into
twenty five and he still doesn't have a catch tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:10:12):
Oh keeps amazing. That's crazy. Is the total for.

Speaker 4 (02:10:17):
Saquon Barkley was one that was interesting in me because
it was really high. It was like one twelve.

Speaker 2 (02:10:22):
So he's ten and a half on the rushing.

Speaker 1 (02:10:23):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (02:10:23):
Okay, so he's at forty three right now.

Speaker 2 (02:10:26):
So that I took the over, that's not go unless
he breaks one big that's not gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (02:10:30):
What was the Do you have the Mahomes passing in
front of you?

Speaker 2 (02:10:33):
So I did fifty two?

Speaker 3 (02:10:34):
Oh, he's got fifty two and I.

Speaker 2 (02:10:37):
Have on Mahomes rushing. I have twenty seven and a half.
I don't know how many he.

Speaker 4 (02:10:43):
Is right now though, Just how many rushing?

Speaker 2 (02:10:45):
He has eight eight yards?

Speaker 8 (02:10:47):
Eight he has one carry for eight yards. Mahome's finally
a little bit of time, first down completion. Chiefs moving
the football at their own forty yard line.

Speaker 2 (02:10:55):
You know they're gonna go to no huddle. Wouldn't you
be going to a huddle.

Speaker 4 (02:10:58):
With this man? I think they are.

Speaker 3 (02:10:59):
You need touchdown drives.

Speaker 2 (02:11:01):
Yeah, I gotta go to a huddle. I gotta start
picking it up a little bit, and then that allows.

Speaker 8 (02:11:05):
One of the strengths whenever you've struggled like this, one
of the things that you know can help give you
a little bit of an edge is the creativity in
the spot spotting eighty Thank you? Did he just drop
the ball and still handed it off? Second down and four,
there's four thirty to go. They're not quite to midfield yet.
Forty seven yard line, forty forty six and a half.

(02:11:25):
Kansas City down by by twenty seven and oh, Mahomes,
Oh my gosh, he got away from a sack. I
don't know though for how long. There's flags all over
the place. He's better just eat this. He gets the
first down, won't and the ball came out. He gathered
it in again. All right, this thing's coming back. Mahomes
is I don't think he saw the flag. Usually, Pat Mahomes,

(02:11:46):
in those situations, if he sees the holding flags just
goes down.

Speaker 1 (02:11:50):
Right.

Speaker 3 (02:11:50):
So this is going to be second and longer as
this holding penalty is going to be assessed, which means
we're likely coming up toward a third and very long
and a chance that we go through three full quarters
without the Kansas City offense can a single third down.

Speaker 2 (02:12:06):
What do you think the odds were if you bet
that Kansas City would get shut out for the game?

Speaker 7 (02:12:12):
What?

Speaker 2 (02:12:12):
One thousand to one?

Speaker 1 (02:12:13):
Maybe?

Speaker 3 (02:12:13):
I don't five hundred one, even though the Eagles are
in the top ranked defense. Yeah, that had to be astronomical, right, Wow, Well.

Speaker 8 (02:12:19):
They're gonna have an opportunity to add to it. This
is second in a mile. Casey's gonna run the football. Nothing,
I mean, holy smokes.

Speaker 3 (02:12:27):
Okay, third and thirteen coming up.

Speaker 4 (02:12:29):
I mean, there's just nothing there.

Speaker 3 (02:12:32):
This is unfathomable neither to me right now running backs
are doing.

Speaker 2 (02:12:36):
They're gonna have to get themselves a running back off.
So I know they like Pitt checkout, but they they
got together, so so is somebody to back him up? Hunt?
Is it gonna be the end?

Speaker 8 (02:12:43):
I want to say that mel kiper Junior said he
thinks there are forty draftable running backs. Wow, yeah, yeah,
that's that seemed incredibly high for seven rounds. For seven rounds,
I mean, so again, there's I'm sure there's probably more
than forty. There's a catch for Kelsea is going to
set up fourth and short.

Speaker 2 (02:13:02):
So what is that?

Speaker 3 (02:13:02):
Now, this is what we just talked about, a little
ten yard game to Kelsea, but he needed to turn
it into twenty five because their backs are against the wall.
The running backs in this game. Kansas City's under twenty
five yards rushing as a team, and the two running
backs for Philadelphia are under fifty yards rushing on twenty carries.
So that's been the failure of each team. And yet

(02:13:23):
it's an Eagles blowout because Casey's not doing anything.

Speaker 8 (02:13:26):
I wonder everyone always worries they're gonna go for it
on fourth and five, and I know we have to.
You're uncomfortable, so let's kind of watch this together. Ladie
does not like us doing play by play on the air.
He's worried Peter Brown's gonna come in yellow fourth and
five incomplete Eagles takeover.

Speaker 4 (02:13:42):
And it wasn't a drop. It was a beautiful play defensively.

Speaker 8 (02:13:47):
You can taste it on Philadelphia Maddox with is that
Maddox who got up and made the play? Oh my god, wow?
And it would have been a first down. He cut,
undercut the route and knocked it away. Okay, question, I want,
I want you to ponder during the break and we'll
talk about it when we come back. I know it's
a blowout, and every time there's a blowout the numbers tank.

(02:14:07):
But is it possible that these TV and I mean
TV numbers could they actually be good? Could they actually
be Okay, we'll talk about Chiefs fatigue and whether or
not people might be enjoying the opportunity to watch Patrick
Mahomes get kicked around. Coming up next, it's all Eagles
twenty seven zip in the super Bowl right here on
Fox Sports Radio. Oh my goodness, something is happening in

(02:14:28):
the Super Bowl that hasn't happened all game. The Chiefs
are running a play in Eagles territory. Second down and
ten short gain by Patrick Mahomes, So third and long,
a minute forty six to go in the third quarter,
thirty forty zero already the Eagles lead the Chiefs. And
I'm not gonna lie to you, man, I'm really shook.
I'm really I'm shocked by this.

Speaker 2 (02:14:50):
Well that's because you didn't know better. And I don't
blame you, Chris. I mean a lot of us saw
at Philadelphia was gonna go ahead win this game. I
did have them in overtime though, So I had a
close game.

Speaker 8 (02:14:59):
You did have a clo but you had the Eagles
and that's all then matters. Did they close as a favorite?
What was the final number did we see?

Speaker 2 (02:15:07):
I thought one and a half, but I'm not exactly
sure on that.

Speaker 8 (02:15:10):
Mahomes shovels one forward to get the Chiefs the first
first down and segu is that their first third down
conversion of the game.

Speaker 4 (02:15:18):
Oh, there we go.

Speaker 3 (02:15:20):
Believe it or not, it had been zero for eight
on thirty for Kansas City. And by the way, that
last touchdown was scored by DeVante Smith, which means finally,
somebody who finished a career at Alabama has scored in
a Super Bowl, believe it or not. Really, first points
ever scored in a Super Bowl by a player who
ended his college career at Alabama.

Speaker 2 (02:15:41):
I would have said Shawn Alexander, but I don't even
know if he scored a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (02:15:44):
So Alabama's now he did one hundred and forty fifth
different college to have points in a Super Bowl, but
it took them this long. That's not the quarterback throwing
to I mean the guy that actually crosses the goal line.

Speaker 2 (02:15:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (02:15:55):
Interesting. Mahomes is they're frustrated. I mean, you can't you
can't imagine, right, how frustrated boy? They are having problems
getting the right number of people in the huddle. But
check gooll was a late entry. It's first and ten,
there's fifteen on the place.

Speaker 2 (02:16:09):
Mahomes get chippy after the game and start twenty fingers
of people and stuff like that, or well.

Speaker 8 (02:16:14):
Yeah, of course, right, No, I don't think I think
Mahomes is pretty good, but I will say they're trying
to block defensive ends with wide receivers.

Speaker 4 (02:16:23):
That's never gonna work in this instance.

Speaker 8 (02:16:25):
Though, they get a touchdown to Xavier Worthy on an
absolute dart from Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (02:16:32):
That's the Patty Mahomes that we expected here tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:16:35):
If it was still twenty seven, it's still have a possibility.
But there's no possibility.

Speaker 3 (02:16:40):
So you can go for two every time?

Speaker 4 (02:16:41):
Now, eight sixty?

Speaker 2 (02:16:43):
What do you have to I got some?

Speaker 8 (02:16:45):
Did we even really? Did we really even hit the
lead here? How about that pass that Jalen hurts through
to Devontae's maman And.

Speaker 3 (02:16:53):
That was one play after the fourth down stop by
Philly's defense.

Speaker 8 (02:16:56):
Wow, unbelievable. The Chiefs had no taking a snap on
the eagle side of the field until this drive, and
now they're trying to act a two point conversion with
thirty four seconds to go in the third quarter. It's
thirty four to six. They'll Faget to Pacheco incomplete.

Speaker 4 (02:17:14):
Kelsey dropped it, right. I don't think he ever even
made a play for it at the goal line. I
don't think he ever even we're going to replay here.
Do you think he dropped that, Arnie? Or was it
not near him?

Speaker 2 (02:17:26):
I don't think it was near him. Yeah, yeah, oh different, Eric,
he was behind them.

Speaker 1 (02:17:29):
What is.

Speaker 4 (02:17:32):
What is that backdrop behind Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt.

Speaker 3 (02:17:35):
What are they trying to do? It's Bourbon Street? I
get that, but they're not calling the game from Bourbon Street. No, Like,
that's where the pregame show was, at a desk right
in the middle of the street.

Speaker 8 (02:17:44):
Oh like, can we just like have the back of
the press box or something, or have them turned towards
the field? I mean, come on, anyway, have you has
anyone been able to see much on the reaction to
Brady and how he's called the game?

Speaker 2 (02:17:56):
Have you seen much? Arnie? No? I mean, I just
that watches by me. It's such a nice one, but
I've not been able to hear what he's been saying.

Speaker 8 (02:18:03):
Obviously, Now obviously I just didn't know he's so much
he got thirty four to six. You on side kicking here?

Speaker 3 (02:18:09):
No, you would have to declare it.

Speaker 4 (02:18:11):
Oh, that's right, you got to declare it first. I
keep forgetting about the kickoff rule.

Speaker 3 (02:18:15):
By the way, the long touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts
that you mentioned to DeVante Smith. It traveled fifty five
yards in the air, which makes it his second longest
completion of the season.

Speaker 4 (02:18:26):
Are you serious?

Speaker 2 (02:18:28):
Who would have thought?

Speaker 8 (02:18:29):
I mean, this is just thorough everything that you would
want to get mad about if you are a Chiefs fan.

Speaker 2 (02:18:35):
There's like no excuse to Kansas City got that two
point conversion. I would have wont to score.

Speaker 3 (02:18:39):
The Eagles fans are doing John Hawk chop in the
in the stadium. According to our Dan, they said there
was a lot Dan Buyer's anchoring our coverage. Yeah, oh,
Dan Byer out in New Orleans. I gotta tell you something.
I'm intrigued to see how this is going to be
handled postgame. Arning It's it's a feeling that can't. The

(02:19:00):
city hasn't had in a while. Right, It's just a
complete loss date. I mean, what area you're going to say, Oh,
we were pretty good in that? Not one. The punting
was bad even, I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:19:11):
You're talking about what pointing fingers like mame's going on?

Speaker 4 (02:19:14):
I just mean, what what do you say?

Speaker 3 (02:19:16):
I mean, everybody's stunting?

Speaker 4 (02:19:18):
Yeah, everybody stunk. We were never in this game.

Speaker 8 (02:19:22):
And we're about to run the last play of the
third quarter and the Philadelphia Eagles are going to have
a four touchdown lead over the Kansas City Chiefs, and honestly,
their best player, Saquon Barkley hasn't even been their statistical leader.

Speaker 3 (02:19:35):
At all in this He's under fifty yards rushing.

Speaker 4 (02:19:37):
Still, unbelieve if I would have told you that last
week when we were doing this show, Hey man, Saquon
Barkley is not even gonna sniff one hundred yards, what
would you have thought.

Speaker 2 (02:19:46):
Not only do they lose, they lose big by like
two possessions or something.

Speaker 3 (02:19:49):
You'd be saying, oh, spag, no, you can't get one
hundred yards against the Yeah, because no one had been
able to do it all season long against Kansas City
and now we're headed to the fourth cour with the Eagles.

Speaker 8 (02:20:01):
Firmly in command, dominating over the Kansas City Chiefs. So
since they're going to the third quarter break, let's go
to Steve de Seger with what's trending in a dominating
one side a super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (02:20:11):
Steve Pro Football Talk says, because it wasn't yet fourth quarter,
the Chiefs could not declare an on psyde kick. How
about that fit the new rules?

Speaker 2 (02:20:19):
I was not aware of that.

Speaker 3 (02:20:20):
End of three quarters, Philadelphia thirty four to six over
Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (02:20:24):
But you can't go for an outside kick unless it's
in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (02:20:27):
I think with this deficit you could.

Speaker 2 (02:20:29):
I've I'm just to open up the game with an
on side kick.

Speaker 3 (02:20:33):
I'm passing along their tweet. I have my suspicions I'll
leave it too. Kansas City on third down conversions one
of nine, they are up over one hundred and fifty yards.
But Philadelphia has over three hundred yards of offense, about
two hundred of that through the air from Jalen Hurts,
including his forty six yard touchdown pass to DeVante Smith
late third quarter that made it thirty four to nothing.

(02:20:55):
It's now thirty four to six at the end of
three's xaviy Are worthy of touchdown catch. The pass to
Kelsey on the two point try failed. Jalen Hurts does
have an interception thrown, but he has two touchdown passes,
one touchdown run, ten carries fifty five yards, So I
assume that's who we're looking at for MVP of the
Super Bowl. By the way, I think he would be

(02:21:17):
the leader in the clubhouse at this time. And I'm
not sure how much he's going to play in the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (02:21:22):
At the post stop he's going to play.

Speaker 3 (02:21:24):
No, No, I didn't say not. I'm saying I don't
know how much he's actually going on all he's going
to continue this drive, of course to start the fourth quarter.
But my goodness, from the start it's been Philly. And
what if they didn't have that pass interference call against
him on the very first drive, they would have been
in great position to get points on the very first drive. Instead,
second drive, touchdown seven to nothing lead. Now, Hurts did

(02:21:46):
throw his interception early second quarter, but next possession, a
field goal and a ten to nothing advantage to pick
six against Mahomes made it seventeen to nothing Eagles. Mid
second quarter Hurts touchdown pass to aj Brown late second
quarter made it twenty four zip by halftime. Philadelphia had
an advantage of thirteen first downs to one. The last

(02:22:07):
team in a Super Bowl that only had one first
down in a first half was New England when it
got blown out by the great Chicago Bears Bears back
in the mid nineteen.

Speaker 2 (02:22:15):
Eight forty eight to three or something.

Speaker 3 (02:22:17):
In that one, it was Steve Grogod looking at the scoreboard,
films in slow motions. I cannot believe.

Speaker 2 (02:22:24):
Ever side Jamie Wars' neck brace too.

Speaker 3 (02:22:26):
There was a lot of pressure on the quarterback that
night as well. Patrick Mahomes has been sacked five times
in this game, one touchdown, two interceptions, and we got
to repeat. And neither of these quarterbacks had thrown an
interception since before Thanksgiving until tonight. There were three NBA
games today. Milwaukee beat Philadelphia Damian Lillard forty three points.
Giannis Antinacumpo will be out through the All Star break

(02:22:49):
with a sword calf. Houston ended a six game losing
streak defeating Toronto. Detroit won against Charlotte College basketball wins
in the top twenty for Memphis and Maryland and women's
hoops Number one US twenty three and oh got a
victory at Oregon, but number two South Carolina lost at
number four Texas sixty six sixty two. Key k Hernandez
says he's re signing with the Dodgers and the Jets

(02:23:10):
are moving on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He met with
the team this past week. Fourth quarter just getting started
in New Orleans on Fox TV Eagles thirty four, Chiefs six.

Speaker 4 (02:23:21):
I'm not a good host right now because again, well A,
I was late. B I just there's still this part
of me that's in shock right now, aren't I. Saquon
Barkley catches the first pass in the flat of the
fourth quarter and runs for a first down and did
so easily. I mean, Kansas City ain't coming back in this.

Speaker 1 (02:23:38):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:23:38):
It's not so much that they're down by three possessions
or more than three possessions. It's the fact that their
offense hasn't been able to move the ball. They haven't scored. Well,
they scored now, but the way Philadelphia has held them
scoreless up till now has been phenomenal. That that defense.
I agree with one of the people that sit in
the tweet the MVPs that that Philadelphia defense if you could, Yeah,

(02:23:59):
herds has been phenomenal, but the defense was collectively.

Speaker 3 (02:24:02):
I mean, Sweat has two and a half of the
five secs. But this last drive, the scoring drive for
Kansas City, it was a ninety yard drive. They didn't
have ninety yards total the entire night until that last drive.

Speaker 4 (02:24:13):
You know, it's it's it's interesting.

Speaker 2 (02:24:16):
By the way you hear that, do you hear that
sounds the TVs changed off right now? Orders on? Well,
let's exactly, and that that repeat is on. They probably
did it once it was thirty thirtyard not on that board.

Speaker 8 (02:24:32):
Let me let me pay off a teas I had
from earlier. Yeah, yeah, I mean I understand this is
this is a butt kicking. I mean I get it,
But I mean there's still gonna be people that like
love watch this, right, and you might not be a
co an NFL fan of the Chiefs and you're tired,
but with the Chiefs fatigue seeing them get picked and
Jalen Hurts are kicked and Jalen Hurts just throws a

(02:24:53):
beautiful pass to AJ Brown for a first down. Arnie,
I mean, could there be some some hate watch going
on right here because they achieve.

Speaker 2 (02:25:02):
People there's nobody in the world that didn't watch the
game heard that the Kansas is getting killed, and you
know what I'm gonna turn do get killed?

Speaker 3 (02:25:09):
Right they're saying as far as staying on the.

Speaker 2 (02:25:12):
Car staying not nearly as much. Maybe a few, but
people are like, let's wrap it up. I got work
on Monday. You know, it's just it's it's just gonna
be a very It's gonna be low rated, is what's
gonna happen because it's such a buck kicking. You know,
I went I would Fox Sports New Zealand earlier today
they there are the Super Bowls out of Monday. There,

(02:25:32):
They're way ahead of us.

Speaker 8 (02:25:33):
I'm okay, you did a hit on Fox Sports New
Zealand today. That's your humble brag of the show tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:25:40):
No, I just thought i'd bring it up. Their partners
with us and that woul give me a break. But
they those super Bowls on Monday, Yes, with.

Speaker 3 (02:25:47):
The time difference. Can I just add and we've been
saying this the last few Super Bowls. After things get done,
once the current TV contract is done and Goodell finally
gets a chance to expand to an eighteen game regular season.
Then people won't be saying I have work on Monday,
because it'll push back the super Bowl one week and
it'll be President's Day on Monday, and that will make

(02:26:08):
it like it's a super Bowl holiday weekend every day.

Speaker 4 (02:26:12):
I like, I think i'd I think i'd be here
for that.

Speaker 2 (02:26:15):
I think I'd like to move the super Bowl to Saturday.
But that's not going to happen.

Speaker 8 (02:26:18):
I don't think that'll happen. No, it'll be you know what,
to your thought about overseas super bowls. The super Bowl
will be overseas before it's on a Saturday night. I mean,
there's I don't know how else to put this, Arnie.
The Chiefs give a rip meter right now defensively looks
like zero. I mean, Jalen Hurts just walked the sidelines
for a big gainer on a play in which he

(02:26:39):
had been hemmed in. They've just beat him into submission.
Right now, it's eleven forty three to go. It's thirty
four to.

Speaker 3 (02:26:44):
They've gone almost fifty yards on this drive already in
four minutes, so they're running clock and getting yardage and
they're in field goal range.

Speaker 2 (02:26:51):
Already.

Speaker 3 (02:26:52):
It's exactly what we said much earlier in the second half.
They don't need another touchdown to win this game.

Speaker 2 (02:26:57):
Brodway, Philadelpha is running it up now. They really should
be conservative. They have this game one, but they're going
to try to add more points to this.

Speaker 4 (02:27:04):
Well, they haven't thrown much on this drive.

Speaker 8 (02:27:06):
This has been all how They had the one pass
on third down to aj Brown, but this has pretty
much all been just Jalen and Saquon And they're showing
the highlight package right now of just all the great
throws that Jalen Hurts has made. Arnie, you and I
have done this show together for a long time, not
just the Super Bowl show, but our typical Sunday night
show from ten p to one a Easter at Central

(02:27:27):
time eleven p two a Eastern Time. We did a
show when the quarterback battle was on in Alabama, and
we had our buddy Ryan Faller on from Alabama with us. Yeah,
and I'll never forget him telling us, I don't know
how these guys are ever going to complete a pass.

Speaker 2 (02:27:44):
They look terrible.

Speaker 4 (02:27:46):
And one of the.

Speaker 8 (02:27:46):
Freshman quarterbacks I was battling for the job was Jalen Hurts.
I'll never forget seeing him played Oklahoma as incredible as
the season was, as the Heisman Trophy was out of
his grasp and so was the title for Oklahom when
they got beat by Alla.

Speaker 4 (02:28:00):
I remember hearing.

Speaker 8 (02:28:01):
People say, can't wait to get Spencer Rattler in there,
got to get Jalen Hurts out of there. I mean,
it is a guy that they moved on. They took
two over Jalen at Alabama. Now he's gonna win a
super Bowl. It's awesome to see.

Speaker 2 (02:28:13):
I'm not so sure. I wouldn't say I'd rather have
Jalen Hurtston Lamar Jackson or is that just crazy?

Speaker 4 (02:28:18):
No, I mean he's gonna win a super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (02:28:19):
Well that doesn't mean as much so it should.

Speaker 4 (02:28:22):
It doesn't mean much in the way that they've won
this super Bowl and what he's been.

Speaker 2 (02:28:26):
Yeah, but I mean you could say Lamar Jackson could
have two MVPs.

Speaker 3 (02:28:29):
Well he does have two, I mean three, three, three, right,
But I mean, okay, but he's never won a super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (02:28:36):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:28:36):
But I'm just talking about, you know, talent at that
one position.

Speaker 8 (02:28:40):
Hey, listen, I'm the biggest Lamar Jackson defender. You're the
biggest Lamar Jackson hater. So if you're telling me that
you almost rather have Jalen Hurts, I yes, I can't.

Speaker 2 (02:28:50):
I can't argue with you. I mean I have to
a lot of people say you're crazy on.

Speaker 3 (02:28:54):
That update on two different things. Won the new rule
with the NFL kickoffs, it's true that on side kicks
are only allowed in the fourth quarter, and if you're
losing and it hadn't been quite fourth quarters, I agree. Second,
it was said by one of the classic sports writers
from almost one hundred years ago, and it's still true
as far as will people even stay in to watch.

(02:29:15):
The two biggest stories in sports are big Man wins,
big Man loses one of those two, and we're getting
big Man losing, so it's still a story. Some people
are enjoying watching Philadelphia already up thirty four to six,
kicking a field goal here to make it thirty seven.

Speaker 2 (02:29:32):
Six forty eight yard attempt. Boy, that is money. Jake
Elliott has been awesome. Should have taken the over two
and a half.

Speaker 4 (02:29:39):
Was there an opportunity for that?

Speaker 2 (02:29:41):
I have I don't know.

Speaker 8 (02:29:43):
You're just making up your own bets. As the show
goes on, tonight is kind of what happens all right.
It's been one sided, it's been ugly. It's been dominant
by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 2 (02:29:52):
Ugly.

Speaker 8 (02:29:52):
If you're a Chiefs fan, Arnie for Eagle fans, before
we get a time out, I know that you know,
you're never comfortable until it hits Zeros. But for this
franchise to now, it's all time winning. His coach, Andy
Reid beat them in the Super Bowl two years ago,
but you didn't win a super Bowl until you moved
on from him, and you won a super Bowl with

(02:30:14):
Doug Peterson. Now Nick Siriani is about to win a
super Bowl. That's just it's wild to me to where Mahomes.
Reid gets to Kansas City, pairs up with Mahomes, So
what happens? They start a dynastic run, and who's the
team that's gonna stop him? The team that fired him,
the team that he had beaten two years ago, and
a coach that everyone wanted fired earlier this season?

Speaker 3 (02:30:35):
Just what a story?

Speaker 2 (02:30:37):
What a story. You got to wonder how many more
years does Andy Reid have him in them?

Speaker 4 (02:30:41):
Also?

Speaker 2 (02:30:41):
You know what I mean, you would think that it's
got to be less than three years before he wants
to retire or no.

Speaker 4 (02:30:48):
I mean, he doesn't ever really give any indication that
he's so much outside of football outside of yeah, next year,
I'll be back then.

Speaker 3 (02:30:54):
Yeah, that type of thing. These Philadelphia Eagles, as far
as the conversation around their head coach. Remember, through September,
the Eagles record was two and two this season, which
means they hit a bye week with more chatter of
only a two and two start. They've only lost one
game in all the months since then.

Speaker 8 (02:31:12):
They're unbelievable. They're unbelievable, and they're showcasing you here tonight.
All right, when we come back, we'll head down the
home stretch and Patrick, what we might be hearing from
some of the players on the field afterwards, is that right?

Speaker 2 (02:31:23):
Possibly? Possibly?

Speaker 4 (02:31:25):
All right?

Speaker 8 (02:31:25):
If not us, then Aaron Torres and uh, whenever we're done,
Mark Willard will have it. But we're taking you up
to the end of the Super Bowl with on even
Plank right here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's
all over about the confetti. Yeah, did you were you
surprised he didn't call her roughing the passer on that? Yeah,
it was hands to the They called hands of the face.

Speaker 2 (02:31:46):
They're probably saying, there's nothing we could do to help
Kansas City now, so let's pretend. Let's get let's get
back at them for all the year's worth the calls
we gave him.

Speaker 8 (02:31:53):
Mahomes back to pass, has the ball just absolutely chopped
out of his arm. It looked very similar to the
shot that brock Purty took that hurt him right whenever,
knocked him out of the NFC Championship game last year.
But Mahomes was okay. Fumbled the ball turnover recovered by Philadelphia.

(02:32:13):
They have the football with eight thirteen to go in
the game, third and five from their own third I'm sorry,
from the chief thirty twenty eight yard line, and we'll
just run it to the left side with Saquan and
probably what kick another field goal here?

Speaker 2 (02:32:27):
Yeah? Unless, yeah, they're probably gonna kick the field go.
I don't think they're going to go for it on
fourth and five. Three more points makes it forty to six,
unless they jesus, let's do like, all the hell with it.
We're up by thirty one. Anyway, let's go for it.
And they may do that at this point.

Speaker 8 (02:32:40):
Well, let's see, it's fourth down, the Chiefs just took
their second time out.

Speaker 3 (02:32:45):
By the way, the NFL says, this is the most
rushing yards by any quarterback in a Super Bowl. What
Jalen Hurts two years ago? Seventy yards rushing hurts Tonight
he has eleven carries for seventy two.

Speaker 2 (02:32:57):
I said he's gonna have to run the ball at
least ten times like he did last game. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (02:33:02):
Oh, my stat's hat an updated? Wow, eleven carries seventy
two yards six point five yards per carry. The Eagles
have run the ball thirty nine times tonight. Wow, thirty
nine times for one hundred and thirty five yards. Not
great good three point five yards.

Speaker 3 (02:33:17):
Kansas City eight carries as they fell behind early.

Speaker 8 (02:33:20):
Twenty seven yards A right here we go forty five
yard field goal attempt, eight oh five to.

Speaker 4 (02:33:25):
Go, Elliott.

Speaker 3 (02:33:27):
He has been false starting.

Speaker 4 (02:33:28):
Oh did they have another false start?

Speaker 3 (02:33:30):
Whistles?

Speaker 4 (02:33:31):
Oh, my gosh, you're kidding me. They did.

Speaker 2 (02:33:35):
They taken the over three and a half right on
the field.

Speaker 8 (02:33:37):
The center you should have you would have been enriched tonight.
They're having some problems with the center. I think he's
not obviously, is as good as James Winchester starting center
for the Kansas City Chief.

Speaker 3 (02:33:49):
He's in his fifth Super Bowl at.

Speaker 8 (02:33:51):
Washington Warrior and Oklahoma Sooner. Great James Winches CEO.

Speaker 2 (02:33:55):
Is feeling good about themselves, saying, yeah, let's let's put
the ad in the fourth quarter. It's to be a
close game. Let's put the put the commercial in the fourth.

Speaker 4 (02:34:03):
And I bet it was probably a little bit more
pricey too in the fourth quarter, of course. All right,
So now they're gonna try it from fifty. Let's see
snap is good? Kick his straight down the gosh, he was.

Speaker 2 (02:34:15):
One for eight fifty yards of or pay looked.

Speaker 8 (02:34:18):
Terrible before this game, but something got into Jake Elliott
and it is now forty to six.

Speaker 3 (02:34:24):
That is a just score. As much of a beatdown
as this has been.

Speaker 4 (02:34:28):
Wow, you got any squares?

Speaker 2 (02:34:29):
Aren't he?

Speaker 4 (02:34:30):
Are you gonna be close on this?

Speaker 2 (02:34:31):
Or no, I'm not even gonna be Can you you
get zero six? How about that? That's like too good
for me? Zero six? Zero six? Let me see, I
have no I'm not even gonna get close to that,
forget about it.

Speaker 3 (02:34:41):
Patrick Mahomes has been sacked six times in a game
for the first time since college in the Texas Bowl
against LSU did they win that game? And by the way,
we did mention earlier the Super Bowl record sacks by
a team is seven, so I assume he'll be going
back to pass. We still have eight full minutes left
in this game tonight, a full minutes in another hour

(02:35:02):
to film, So here we go.

Speaker 2 (02:35:04):
Hey.

Speaker 8 (02:35:05):
As always, you need to check out the Fox Sports
Radio YouTube channel, especially throughout the weekend. There's all kinds
of great videos from the week that was for Fox

(02:35:26):
you always have instant access to our Fox Sports Radio
videos on YouTube. The studio is very video friendly.

Speaker 3 (02:35:32):
I do have an answer on your Texas Bowl loss
by Patrick Mahomes. Yes, Texas Tech and Cliff Kingsbury were
beaten by LSU and coach Les Miles fifty six to
twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (02:35:43):
Wow.

Speaker 8 (02:35:43):
Wow yeah, yeah, good old fashioned big twelve days from
a home. See he's used to this. It just happened
a lot to him in college not in the NFL.
He's been getting everyone back. Tom Brady won the first
two Super Bowls that he played in, right, and then
he disappeared from the super Bowl championship scene for nine years.
I went to two and lost. Kansas City seems to

(02:36:05):
be built a little different, Arnie, and there was an
injury to Brady in that mix. I don't know he
has any concerns about what the Chiefs got. I mean,
this is in the Super Bowl, so I feel bad
questioning anything. But does this raise concerns about dynastic opportunities
beyond this or do you think they bounced back next year?

Speaker 2 (02:36:25):
I don't think they bounced back Kansas City? Is that
what dres? I think this around about way? I eventually
got it. Yes, that's what I was ask him. I
think there could be a tough road ahead of him.
I think the division is better. They have to do
something about that offensive line. I still think they need
more weapons offensively, whether it's a running back or maybe
another big time receiver. I'm not gonna let this sin.

(02:36:45):
If I'm Patrick Mahomes, I'm the best quarterback in the NFL.
You've got to start helping me and protecting me, right,
now is.

Speaker 4 (02:36:52):
Is Jalen Hurts the MVP right now?

Speaker 2 (02:36:54):
Absolutely one, no doubt about it.

Speaker 7 (02:36:56):
Okay, I called it, by the way, you call that
I did. If you look at the she I said,
Jayalen Hants is the MVP.

Speaker 3 (02:37:01):
On my heart, Josh.

Speaker 8 (02:37:04):
Josha Josh sweats two and a half tackles two for
the loss. She had the pick sex from Coop Do
I say, sax, I'm sorry, pick six from Cooper Dejen.

Speaker 4 (02:37:13):
Was was out there as well.

Speaker 3 (02:37:14):
I mean, happy birthday.

Speaker 8 (02:37:16):
Not looking at any of those is possibilities. Probably, Yeah,
you did six tackles total. By by the way, you
would love this.

Speaker 3 (02:37:25):
The AP writer in the Bay Area made sure to
point out you would mentioned in the second half tonight. Oh,
the Chiefs are crossing midfield for the first time all game.
Uh huh. A writer tweets that leaves who as the
last quarterback who failed to leave a deleted drive past
midfield at the Superdome.

Speaker 4 (02:37:41):
Derek Carr. Lazien es, it's cold. He was awesome. Now
stop it. I don't know.

Speaker 8 (02:37:48):
I don't need Brianna coming in here and get mad
at me for defending Derek Carr. But any stretched the imagine.

Speaker 3 (02:37:53):
Thanks for getting a new coach, and it's the guy
who led this forty to six defeat of KC. That's
the final.

Speaker 8 (02:38:00):
Yeah, and it's gonna be it's gonna be interesting to
see what that roster looks like in New Orleans, Arnie.
It's also now to get more on this football game.
It is going to be interesting to see some of
the decisions after that. Here's a pass that's completed to
Mahomes tackle.

Speaker 3 (02:38:13):
I can't say this at a find a tackle Kansas City,
And I.

Speaker 4 (02:38:19):
Mean, do you think this is where Travis Kelce walks
off into sun.

Speaker 2 (02:38:23):
I would you know, before the game, I would say
maybe there's a twenty percent chance he would retire, maybe
even ten percent. Now after the game, I would think
it's more like forty or fifty percent. I know he's
gonna have to take a long time to think about it.
Nobody says you never want to go out this way,
but he's got so much ahead of him, right, you
can't come back and to have a bad year, might

(02:38:43):
you know, might hurt your stock a little bit. I
guess outside the NFL, does he really have it in
him to go through another year? I'm not so sure
he'd may want to go ahead with his relationship with
Taylor Swift. He may want to get married. I don't know.
I can give it about forty. He may retire.

Speaker 8 (02:39:01):
Okay, we're broadcasting live from the ti rack dot com studios.
Tire rack dot com will help you get there an
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection, and
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com The
way tire buying should be. Chiefs just had a touchdown

(02:39:21):
called back Garney because of the PI and now the coms.
The calm will slide down at about the five yard line.
It's all over outside of the greasing of the light poles.
It is forty to six with Steve de Seger on
updates with Mary Mack running the show.

Speaker 2 (02:39:39):
The overhunder, Sir, the overrunner was forty eight and a
half to fifty.

Speaker 4 (02:39:44):
That's Arney Span your on, Chris Plank. So there is
some drama, is what you're saying?

Speaker 2 (02:39:48):
A touchdown for the over A lot of people. Well,
I think a lot of the money came in on
the under because it dropped from fifty and a half
to forty eight.

Speaker 8 (02:39:56):
Do you think do you think they acknowledge it? On
the Super Bowl broadcast to try to keep people glued
into it. Yeah, like listen, no one's watching. They start
talking about the gambling side of it. He catch that
touchdown overachieved Hopkins, DeAndre Who. So I went through this
list of pending free agents for the Chiefs and it's

(02:40:19):
it's significant. Hopkins is one of them. Trey Smith, Kareem Hunt,
Juju Smith, Schuster who always seems to be a free
agent now, Nick Bolton, their star linebacker, Hollywood Brown, Charles
and Minahu. They've got a lot of dudes that are
difference makers on their defense that are free agents this season.
And when you look at the twenty twenty six Kelsey,

(02:40:42):
it would be the final year of his deal. Joe Tooney,
their left guard who's been playing some tackle, Trent McDuffie,
George Carl Loftis. You know, They've got a lot of
big names, Isaiah pa Checo coming up over the next
few seasons. As far as free agency is concerned, Has
there been a two point conversion in this game? Well,
there is now, but there is a flag. There's a

(02:41:02):
flag because the stars of this game have been the
guys in pinstrives.

Speaker 3 (02:41:07):
They've been happy flag happy today, this would be about
fifteen penalties total accepted penalties. Can I just update one
stat that has been true for years is not going
to be after tonight. Patrick Mahomes was drafted first round
of twenty seventeen. No quarterback drafted in twenty eighteen or
in any round had yet won a Super Bowl. Mahomes

(02:41:27):
had pretty much, and Brady in the last decade had
had the corner on all of that. Not Josh Allen,
who four times beaten by Mahomes, not Joe Burrow or
Lamar Jackson or two or Herbert or any of these people.
And now Jalen Hurts, drafted in twenty twenty is going
to win a Super Bowl tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:41:44):
Wow. How about that?

Speaker 3 (02:41:46):
Not a single quarterback in any round from twenty eighteen
or later had won the Big Game until tonight.

Speaker 4 (02:41:53):
That's pretty crazy.

Speaker 8 (02:41:54):
I will also add I completely forgot about the time
that Nick Sirianni had with the Chiefs, and they were
just showing a montage of shots of him with the
Chiefs due he was twelve years old. I mean, he's
out there like he looks like a president, looks like
after four years where they're graying and he's got the
gray beard. He's been through a lot, but man, what

(02:42:17):
a what a job that he did this year. I mean,
they they sacre you keep bringing it up in August,
in August when I was talking. After September, After September,
the first month of the season, they were done and
Arnie we Nick Sirian, he spent a lot of time
getting clowned, and understandably so, his opening press conference was
awkward and weird, and they what died he do?

Speaker 4 (02:42:36):
Let him do? The Super Bowl?

Speaker 3 (02:42:37):
Right?

Speaker 8 (02:42:37):
They lost, They come back, they have a tough season.
Well in there, and I guess example of a tough season.
They fired their defensive coordinator. When things tanked down the stretch,
they brought in Vic Fangio and for the first time
in his career, he's going to beat Patrick Mahomes. And
I mean, Nick Siriani's gonna win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (02:42:54):
This is amazing. And if they could have gotten rid
of him after like four games, they would have. They
the fans wanted them gone, that was for sure. They
were coming after them, like every weekend we did a show.
They were coming after him.

Speaker 3 (02:43:06):
Actually, the two point conversion, the on side kick was
declared and it was it looked like the long snapper,
Damn Meddle.

Speaker 8 (02:43:14):
Whoever kicked it. Just I love that way of trying
to do an on side kick, Arnie. They had the
one of the big defensive linemen or somebody kick it,
and then he just ran right into the person.

Speaker 2 (02:43:26):
You don't need the kicker. You don't need the kicker
if you're just gonna squib it like that.

Speaker 4 (02:43:30):
Yeah, I just just squib it and run right over
the dude in front of you.

Speaker 8 (02:43:33):
They recovered the thing, but Philadelphia is going to get
the football here to to burn the clock a little bit.
I mean, this is still shocking, right, I mean, come on,
I'm yes, I know you picked the Eagles, Arnie, but
you had it in overtime with Anny Pickett.

Speaker 2 (02:43:47):
Oh, Kenny Pickett's in the game. Oh my goodness, who
would have bet that? Huh? Do you know?

Speaker 8 (02:43:52):
You know there's a there's some sort of prop out
there off that course, big big moment here, Arnie. What
color is the gatorade?

Speaker 2 (02:44:02):
It's not gonna be purple?

Speaker 7 (02:44:03):
I know that.

Speaker 8 (02:44:03):
All right, here we go, they've got it with two
fifty two to go. It looks like water, all right?
Is aj brown? No, it is yellow.

Speaker 3 (02:44:12):
You're right, we got it on side kick by fifty
four linebacker Leoshanol.

Speaker 4 (02:44:17):
Boom, Gatorade, bath boy.

Speaker 8 (02:44:21):
They're really celebrating a little early on. Also, there's three minutes,
there's two fifty two to go in the game. I
still don't believe that Patrick Mahomes won't bring the Chiefs
back from this. I'm just gonna tell you I will
not allow myself to believe that right now. But the
Chiefs do only have one more time out. Someone's in
a tweet earlier, and I'm kind of feeling the same way.

(02:44:43):
Maybe it was maybe it was Paul. It's thinking genius
one at play show, we're gonna have instant reaction, which
I guess we're kind of in the middle of right
now because this.

Speaker 4 (02:44:50):
Game is over.

Speaker 8 (02:44:51):
But someone had said, I keep waiting for Saquon Barkley.
This has the feel of Saquon Barkley breaking one here
at the end.

Speaker 3 (02:45:00):
But it's not the Rams, so he's not going to
be going sixty yards to the house his season against them.
By the way, Travis Kelce would know catches in the
first half, he'll wind up with four catches. Thirty nine
yards is where he sits so that does pass Jerry
Rice most catches in Super Bowl history.

Speaker 8 (02:45:16):
I mean, this has got to be incredibly vindicating for
Nick Sirianni. I mean you're watching in there showing him.
He's got tears in his eyes.

Speaker 3 (02:45:24):
I think he might just turn around and start yelling
at the fans just for general purposes.

Speaker 2 (02:45:29):
Remember what I was going on was this season. Yeah,
that was after a game against the Browns where they
should have lost to the Browns, and he's over yelling
at fans. And now he's going to lead this team
to Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (02:45:43):
So not the most lopsided super Bowl we've seasoned, we've seen.
Arnie and I were talking about season after season back
in the eighties, it was, oh, who in the AFC
is going to get killed this year?

Speaker 2 (02:45:53):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:45:53):
So like when the Bears great defense killed New England
that was a thirty six point win. This is now
forty to four in Philadelphia. The most lopsided Super Bowl
when Montana and the Niners beat up the Broncos fifty
five to ten.

Speaker 8 (02:46:06):
I just Howie Roseman gets a lot of shine. Jeffrey
Lorie the owner, and they've made some personnel. Let me
rephrase that they've made some coaching moves that honestly are
are kind of surprising, you know. They they essentially fired
Andy Reid, right, they fired Doug Peterson and they went
with a dude in Sirianni that no one had really

(02:46:27):
heard of. Right at the Indianapolis Colts, he was their
offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach.

Speaker 3 (02:46:32):
And look at they get Vangio for the defense and
the number one right defense.

Speaker 4 (02:46:36):
Can we ch out?

Speaker 2 (02:46:37):
Right?

Speaker 1 (02:46:38):
Can we?

Speaker 3 (02:46:38):
Just as a side note, point out that yet again
in NFL history, we see somebody who gets a bad
reputation because they had a bad stint at as a
head coach. Huh, but they can be dominant as a coordinator.
They really hit their sweet spot. Norf Turner was a
sensational offensive coordinator for many teams for many years well
Washington mostly a lot of success with Dallas as an assistant,

(02:47:01):
included Vic Fangio. Going back to the Bears, He's had
a lot of success and never more so than this year.

Speaker 4 (02:47:07):
Yeah, and Arnie didn't think that he was all that
great when he was with Miami.

Speaker 2 (02:47:11):
He didn't miss him in Miami.

Speaker 8 (02:47:14):
But you shouldn't. You shouldn't because you don't care about
coordinators anyway. Numbers, you guys, you guys up for some
numbers here before we before we put a rap in
the final two minutes and kind of walk through and
talk through what's happening on the field. Jalen Hurts will
be your MVP most likely. Eleven carries, seventy two yards
six point five per carry, one touchdown. The Eagles will

(02:47:38):
and they're gonna run it. What is it third down
right now? So they're gonna run fourth down? Okay, they'll
probably just run it. Forty two carries one hundred and
thirty nine yards, but only three point three yards per carry.
Didn't didn't have the most successful running game, but by god,
they were not gonna get away from it.

Speaker 3 (02:47:54):
Also, we said pregame before this one tonight, don't give
up on the run. You had Saquon Barkley, and even
though he's about two yards of carry, they kept giving
it to him. The defense is the star of this game.
Let's not bury the lead. But I love the fact
that they got that many carries. Not just protecting the
lead to pay, but all the way through all four quarters,

(02:48:16):
they were running the ball.

Speaker 2 (02:48:17):
You see that squad did not have a good game.
He was like an average at best.

Speaker 4 (02:48:21):
Twenty five carries fifty seven yards. Dude, I mean that's he.

Speaker 2 (02:48:24):
Did catch six out of the backfield, but nothing damaging.

Speaker 8 (02:48:28):
If if I were to tell you that the only
one hundred yard receiver in this game was Xavier Worthy
right now without making any sense either, Wow, he's got
seven for one oh seven. DeVante Smith is the leading
receiver for the Eagles, four catches for sixty nine yards.
But all these individual stats they kind of pale, I mean,
because there's nothing individually where you're like.

Speaker 4 (02:48:47):
Whoa, right, a three hundred yard receive.

Speaker 3 (02:48:49):
Our rusher collectively forty points against the Spagnolo defense. This
is the first time in twenty five playoff games as
a defensive coordinator that that guy who people were talking
about this could he be the first assistant to make
it into the Super Bowl. Look at his track and
they allow forty points to Filly tonight.

Speaker 8 (02:49:08):
Unbelievable. I like the team stats, though, Arenie. That's where
those individual accomplishments. There's not the big numbers. But you
looked at the team numbers. Twenty one first downs for
the Eagles, eleven for the Chiefs, and I bet half
of those.

Speaker 3 (02:49:20):
Chiefs first downs were on that one scoring drive away.

Speaker 2 (02:49:22):
Yeah, they were up to halftime, they had like one
that was not going for them.

Speaker 8 (02:49:27):
They didn't cross into Eagles territory until the second quarter. Yeah,
it's unbelievable. But here's a weird note. As good as
the Eagles have been tonight, they've been terrible on third downs.
Both teams are three of eleven on third down opportunities.
Sixty six total plays for Philadelphia, forty eight for the Chiefs.
Three hundred and forty nine total yards to two twenty five. Again,

(02:49:49):
a little bit skew. The Chiefs have put up some
numbers here late.

Speaker 3 (02:49:52):
Yeah, because at halftime the yardage was one seventy nine
to twenty three. The Chiefs had allowed more points than
Kansas City had total yards net in the first half.

Speaker 2 (02:50:02):
That's what a blowout this was.

Speaker 3 (02:50:04):
We mentioned also pregame tonight that the Chiefs needed to
get off to the great start tonight like they got
off to last game against Buffalo, because they're facing the
number one defense in the NFL and the Eagles. Last game,
the Chiefs had scored touchdowns on three of their first
four drives, led twenty one to ten late in the
first half tonight, in the first half, seven drives, five punts,

(02:50:25):
two interceptions.

Speaker 2 (02:50:26):
By the way, make no mistake about it, Even though
Jalen Hurts is the MVP, the Eagles are not winning
a Super Bowl without Saquon Barkley for the entire year.

Speaker 3 (02:50:34):
It just it wasn't going to happen. Is anyone trying
to say that? No, and look at the playoff games
he's had. Look just the games he had against Washington
this year. It's ridiculous.

Speaker 8 (02:50:45):
Well, Mahomes, he's just gonna go out there and fling it.
Oh my goodness, he caught worthy touchdown, so.

Speaker 3 (02:50:50):
We cannot take the worthy stats. He's been targeted eight
times and has eight catches, and that's over one hundred
and fifty yards receiving for the kid.

Speaker 4 (02:50:59):
Now the Chiefs go for two to try to make
it forty to twenty two.

Speaker 3 (02:51:03):
As a fan of history of sports, it's a little
unfortunate that this is going to wind up, say forty
to twenty two, because future generations won't realize what a
complete butt kicking this was.

Speaker 8 (02:51:14):
I mean, the Eagles, I don't know how you let
a guy get behind you in somewhat of a prevent defense,
But here.

Speaker 3 (02:51:19):
We are well, I see backups in the secondary.

Speaker 8 (02:51:22):
Oh, that would be part of it as well. But
hey man, there's some people that would you say the
over under for Mahomes the and the touchdown are yard.

Speaker 2 (02:51:31):
J fifty two yards?

Speaker 3 (02:51:32):
That did it?

Speaker 2 (02:51:33):
Did it really? Yeah? And the two fifty seven Yeah.

Speaker 8 (02:51:36):
The two point conversion is good, Hopkins. So it's forty
to twenty two. And if you had the Mahomes over
passing yards, you were probably drowning your sorrows midway through
the game.

Speaker 3 (02:51:48):
So Patrick Mahomes, in a game where he trailed thirty
four to nothing late third quarter, is going to wind
up with three touchdown nests. We're going to have another
declared on site kick here in the final two minutes, right, well, yes, yes,
I want to see the linebacker kick off again. I
will just blow somebody.

Speaker 8 (02:52:04):
Up down the little brilliant. I thought that we were
just gonna be sitting here watching them run out the clock.
But Mahomes hits. I told you guys, I never believe
it's over until the call the way by zero.

Speaker 2 (02:52:15):
My guess on the game was going to end at
ten to sixteen Eastern was my guess at the beginning
before the game.

Speaker 4 (02:52:21):
We tried to figure out. So it's at nine to
fifteen h.

Speaker 2 (02:52:24):
Two more minutes.

Speaker 3 (02:52:25):
I think I think first half plus halftime was not
gonna make hours.

Speaker 2 (02:52:29):
Yeah yeah, I mean the game is gonna make it.

Speaker 4 (02:52:30):
The game cooked as far as time is concerned.

Speaker 3 (02:52:33):
The actual kickoff was six forty two eastern. By the way,
Xavier Worthy was their star on offense last game against Buffalo.
He had six catches, eighty five yards and a touchdown.
This is eight catches one fifty seven now two tds.

Speaker 2 (02:52:46):
Well, this game is is over.

Speaker 8 (02:52:49):
But at the very least this on side kick will
mean if it's over over or if we're just gonna out.

Speaker 4 (02:52:53):
Okay, Eagles recover it. It is now over over too.

Speaker 2 (02:52:56):
And I would have liked to make it forty thirty.

Speaker 8 (02:52:58):
Then and then Chief fans would always be like, hey man,
I only lost by ten whenever it was.

Speaker 3 (02:53:04):
With the recovery.

Speaker 8 (02:53:05):
Greg cal Katerra, great story, great kid that there was
a point in his career where he medically retired.

Speaker 4 (02:53:15):
He left Oklahoma Wow, and he was going to be
a fireman.

Speaker 2 (02:53:19):
Fireman.

Speaker 8 (02:53:20):
There was actually a game where it was his final
game as a Sooner and he led the team out
in his lettermans jacket because he had had concussion problems,
so he couldn't get cleared. He was going to retire
from football be a firefighter. He sat out a year,
got healthy, got cleared, and went to Auburn. I think
he was at SMU for a while. And now he's

(02:53:42):
about to win a Super Bowl ring with the Eagles.
And when they tired, they.

Speaker 3 (02:53:46):
Had Goddard hurt first half of the year, and he
had some good games at tight end. They needed somebody
to come through for them after that two and two start,
they'd hpen. I know there's probably tons of stories like that,
but I mean, he's taking a knee by the way,
O ball game, dude, this is shocking, Arnie Senior. Still,
we've not had a team win three straight Super Bowls.

(02:54:06):
Kansas City had won the last two Super Bowls. Still,
the last NFL team to win three straight championships was
Lombardi's Packers nineteen sixty five sixty six, sixty seven. Kenny
Pickett will get the Philadelphia and keep the ball, can't
he Picket didn't win it Philadelphia and Buffalo? What do
you mean to go to the three straight Super Bowls?

Speaker 4 (02:54:26):
Well, he's talking about winning it. He's talking about to party.

Speaker 3 (02:54:29):
Won three still championships.

Speaker 8 (02:54:31):
Yeahah, the fights that we've had this whole week long
about dynasties and I guess you could say just legacies.
They're gonna stop, but only for a shorts. Moms isn't
going anywhere. I mean, they're going to be back. They've
got a lot of things to get back. I bet
so they're not the favorite.

Speaker 2 (02:54:47):
I bet your Philadelphia is the favorite for next year.

Speaker 8 (02:54:49):
In the end, well, okay, overhaul, I mean the Phinian
j Yeah, the Finnic chance probably should be. When't you
think there's the final knee that will need to be
taken and the the Philadelphia Eagles have done it. Nick
Sirianni is a champion.

Speaker 4 (02:55:06):
Jalen Hurts was incredible and that breaks the postseason winning
streak of Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (02:55:12):
Last three years. He had been nine to zero in
postseason games. He had had fifteen touchdown passes just one
interception these last three postseasons. Tom Brady's record still stands
ten straight postseason victory, which occurred years ago.

Speaker 8 (02:55:27):
Wow, they're showing the player's mill about hugs all around.
One of the first hugs Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes.
We were tracking Nick Sirianni and then all of a
sudden like they kind of disappeared. So I assume he
got his moment with Andy Reid, but complete and utter domination. Wow,
what a what a performance?

Speaker 2 (02:55:47):
Why did they show it? If Reid would have won,
they would have short of congratulated again.

Speaker 8 (02:55:50):
Yeah, did you notice that they kind of cut away
and maybe they just got lost a little bit. But
second head coach for the Eagles to win a super.

Speaker 3 (02:55:58):
Bowl, and it's rare that you get a rematch in
a super Bowl so quickly after these two.

Speaker 2 (02:56:03):
Teams just now the one dick for meal.

Speaker 3 (02:56:06):
Usually these teams win. It's a rematch. Whoever won first
usually wins second as well. This is second time in
three years this is the Super Bowl matchup. The other
times where it's in a span of five seasons or
less in the Super Bowl. The other times like Chiefs
against forty nine Ers in recent years, Chiefs won them both,
or when Eli Manning faced Brady twice in a few years,
Eli Manning and the Giants won them both. Cowboys beat

(02:56:28):
Buffalo back to back seasons. Bradshaw and the Steelers over
Staubach and the Cowboys a couple times in a five
year span. This breaks that unbelievable. It was him and
Doug Peterson. Remember Doug Peters, I'm sorry for meal got
beat by Kenny King in the Oakland Raiders. That's right,
nineteen eighty or so.

Speaker 8 (02:56:45):
But listen, we do have to break the Super Bowl
champion Philadelphia Eagles. Congratulations. We're talking about it, leading you
right up to our postgame coverage with Aaron Torres and
Mark Willard.

Speaker 4 (02:56:55):
They'll talk to the stars on the field.

Speaker 8 (02:56:57):
In the meantime, we're coming to you live from the
tyrack dot studios tire rack dot com. We'll help you

Speaker 2 (02:57:11):
Let me hear you all say heee ow seewee three.

Speaker 6 (02:57:19):
Let's go bird.

Speaker 8 (02:57:22):
By any means right, you can celebrate. The Philadelphia Eagles
are Super Bowl champs. We're awaiting the MVP we all
expected to be. Jalen Hurts. Boy, the NFL doesn't wait long,
do they. You've already got the QR code where you
can order your super Bowl your super Bowl Championship gear.

(02:57:44):
Of course, of course they've already got a high video
here for Jalen Hurts about hate. I guess they're trying
to do everybody hated Jalen Hurts now he wins to
Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (02:57:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:57:56):
Is he really a hated dude?

Speaker 2 (02:57:57):
No, No, not hated dude. They got on him a
little bit in Philadelphia, but he's not a hated dude
at all, Not at all.

Speaker 4 (02:58:06):
What is this.

Speaker 1 (02:58:09):
Love?

Speaker 2 (02:58:09):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (02:58:09):
It's a Nike commercial, all right, So they're they're the
Do you see what the tagline was, No love hurts?

Speaker 4 (02:58:19):
Oh man, I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 8 (02:58:21):
I've I've already heard from Roger the Engineer and got
his concession speech. My arch enemy, my arch rival has
checked in. It makes me feel better. I've already I
met Aaron Torres. You know, Aaron Torres is fit. He's
in good shape. Don't like that for a radio game?

Speaker 2 (02:58:35):
Shocking. I didn't know that.

Speaker 8 (02:58:36):
You gotta you usually got to have a bit of
of a pouch, right, you have belly or some I mean,
he's just in too good a shape.

Speaker 2 (02:58:42):
Really, he looks like he's gating weight.

Speaker 1 (02:58:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:58:44):
No, he does, and he looks great. And I'll tell
you this much.

Speaker 8 (02:58:46):
Uh, they're coming up, he and Mark Willard with the
super Bowl postgame show, And honestly, Arnie, they could just
reair what we've talked about since halftime, because I feel
like we've pretty much been in postgame mode since this
thing kicked off the second half.

Speaker 2 (02:58:59):
Yeah, there's not much that you can add. It's been
a debacle. Even when it was seventeen nothing, Chris, we
knew that the game was over. We just didn't know
it was going to go to this dramatic or was
going to be that much of a runaway. Philadelphia did
everything possible to just dominate this game. Kansas City never
made any adjustments, never could overcome that four man rush,

(02:59:20):
never got the offense going. Mahomes was rattled, that had
a horrible game. If this was anybody else, we'd be
destroying them.

Speaker 3 (02:59:28):
And who knows.

Speaker 8 (02:59:29):
We'll see tomorrow, We'll see throughout the night tonight. To Segre,
I don't think it's going to be a pretty reaction
for him, And I.

Speaker 3 (02:59:35):
Want to add on what he was talking Philadidia. Philadelphia
got all this pressure on Mahomes without blitzing once in
the entire game on forty two times dropping back to
pass in the next gen stats era, which is about
a last decade, not just playoffs. Any NFL game, only
three other defense has ever gone a whole game without

(02:59:57):
blitzing once, and yet at one point they were over
fifty percent on pressures on Mahomes. They forced three turnovers
for this guy. Philadelphia led late in the game forty
to six. Forty to twenty two is the final Fox
postgame has returned after commercial, So we expect the Super
Bowl mving like a.

Speaker 2 (03:00:15):
Big advertisement for merchandise is what it is.

Speaker 8 (03:00:18):
Imagine well television, Welcome to the Super Bowl, coming to
you live from the tyrack dot com.

Speaker 4 (03:00:23):
Too.

Speaker 3 (03:00:23):
We will say something positive about Patrick Mahomes. He's still
only twenty nine years old for crying out loud. Is
already in the Super Bowl for a fifth time, which
has already tied for most among quarterbacks. He had entered
seventeen and three in his playoff career, seventeen playoff wins
already second most among quarterbacks. But how about this, guys

(03:00:43):
from the folks at Stats Inc. In nearly forty seasons now,
the last four decades of the NFL. Every team that
won at least fifteen games in a single regular season,
they all missed winning the championship now single Wow. That
includes the Lion this year, the Chiefs this year, Cam
Newton's Panthers. Remember the Vikings were great about twenty five

(03:01:05):
years ago and got stopped Jashi of the Super Bowl.
The O seven Patriots are on this list, not one
of them in last nearly forty years. When you win
at least fifteen games in a single regular season, do
you wind up winning the Super Bowl? Here we thought
baseball was the sport that didn't award the best team
with the World Series. That's a stunning stack.

Speaker 8 (03:01:24):
I mean, I know that for Jalen Hurts, this probably
isn't as big of a thrill as when he won
the twenty nineteen Big Twelve Championship games over I believe
it was Baylor that year. Probably not as big of
a thrill for him as whenever he watched, you know,
to a tugue of Aloa coming off the bench and
win for Alabama.

Speaker 3 (03:01:40):
Yah, Yeah, big thrill, Yeah, brill.

Speaker 4 (03:01:41):
B I'm sure.

Speaker 8 (03:01:42):
But it's really cool when you see people who have
and it's fair to say I'm not going to sit
here and try to go nikeing and say he was hated,
but he was doubted his style won't work in the NFL.
He got replaced by Tua. When he was at Oklahoma,
he made many fans couldn't wait to see what the
Spencer Rattler era was going to look like.

Speaker 4 (03:02:00):
He also in the pros, had some bad playoff games
and being taken When he was taken to the second round,
it was truly the shock of that draft, because remember
what did the Eagles have at that point. They had
a franchise quarterback and Cartson Wentz whom he replaced. Wentz
takes the l on the chief side, and Roger Goodell
is awarding the Pete Vince Lombardi Trophy to Jeffrey Lourie.

Speaker 8 (03:02:23):
There it is, holds it up in the air. The
Eagles are Super Bowl champions. Let's get one final update,
at least during our five hours on the air with
Steve de Sager. What's going on, Steve, Well.

Speaker 3 (03:02:34):
Let's start with the details from this one, because at
halftime it was a blowout and we just about called
game right then and should have. Eagles wound up winning
forty to twenty two against the Chiefs. It wasn't that close.
At the end of the first half, the yardage was
one hundred and seventy nine to twenty three. Patrick Mahomes'
final stats will look good because of the late scoring,

(03:02:55):
but for most of the four quarters they had one
effective drive. In fact, there was a time where the
first downs they had one first down in the first half.
Only the Patriots, trying to play the Bears defense in
the mid eighties, had one first down in the first
half of a Super Bowl. So Mahomes winds up with
three touchdown passes over two hundred and fifty yards through

(03:03:18):
the air, but three turnovers as well. Eagles over the
Chiefs forty to twenty two. The Chiefs running backs had
seven carries in the game, seven carries and twenty four yards.
We'll get to the trivia. I'll give the question now
and the answer at the end. So we don't have
a three peat in the four major sports. Think don't

(03:03:40):
say yet, give me one minute. You know the four
major sports, each of them. What are the last three peats? NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL.
In the NBA, we had three games today. Milwaukee beat
Philadelphia one thirty five to one twenty seven Damian Lillard
forty three points. Jannis Antenekunpo was out again and will

(03:04:00):
be out through the All Star break with a sore calf.
Anthony Davis of Dallas reportedly could miss multiple weeks with
that aductor strain he just suffered in his first game
with the MAVs. Houston ended a six game losing streak
beating Toronto ninety four to eighty seven. Rockets All Star
center Alprin Shangoon left with a bad back, and Detroit
got a triple double from Kid Cunningham and beat Charlotte

(03:04:21):
one twelve, one oh two. LaMelo ball and the loss
did not play due to a bad ankle. College hoops
wins for Memphis and Maryland. Okay, I got the answers.
In the NFL, the last three peat belongs to the
Green Bay Packers since Lombardi correct nineteen six. You've said
it all night. Oh, you've said it all night tonight.

Speaker 2 (03:04:38):
Yeah, should have been paying attention in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (03:04:41):
The last three peak team?

Speaker 2 (03:04:42):
Come on, you know this the last three peat team
in the NBA?

Speaker 3 (03:04:46):
Correct?

Speaker 2 (03:04:47):
What the Lakers?

Speaker 3 (03:04:48):
Correct? Shaq and Kobe Lakers two thousand and two thousand
and one and two MLB the last three peat team.
What's your guest, Arnie Yankees courrectre Cheter, look at jow
nineteen ninety eight nine in the next one. No, this
was the one I was certain he's gonna get. Oh,
the Islanders, Yes, the New York Islanders won the Stanley

(03:05:10):
Cup four straight nineteen eighty to eighty three.

Speaker 2 (03:05:12):
We brought that up ember Kenny Morrow. I told he
was on. He won the Olympics and then four straight
s Daily Cups.

Speaker 3 (03:05:17):
I retired.

Speaker 4 (03:05:17):
Then let's remember Arnie brought it up something along these lines.

Speaker 8 (03:05:21):
You know there's a guy, you know, some dude, somebody him,
he won like four state I think he had a
gold medal to some guy.

Speaker 4 (03:05:29):
That's that's how Nie saga.

Speaker 2 (03:05:30):
She came up with the name. By the way, I
stayed corrected. Kansas City and Philadelphia both favorites for next year.

Speaker 4 (03:05:36):
Plus six.

Speaker 2 (03:05:37):
It's already out. Yeah, it's on our Twitter. Nick sent
it in Baltimore plus uh seven to one, Buffalo eight
to one, Detroit nine to one. And would you believe
San Francisco fourteen the one the next favorite and it
is official.

Speaker 3 (03:05:53):
Jalen Hurts is the MVP of Super Bowl fifty nine.

Speaker 8 (03:05:56):
Good for him, understood deserved. Here's those final numbers. Seventeen
of twenty two for two hundred and twenty one yards,
two touchdowns and an interception, sack twice. He ran the
ball eleven times for seventy two yards. The most efficient
and effective runner for the Eagles six point five yards
per carry in one touchdown. As a team, the Eagles

(03:06:18):
ran forty five times tonight Arnie for just one hundred
and thirty five yards.

Speaker 2 (03:06:22):
And three yards per carry. Amazing.

Speaker 8 (03:06:25):
I'm going to tell you from the future that Sakwan
Barkley twenty five carries fifty seven yards only two point
three yards per carry. Your response is how badly did
the Eagles get beat? Right?

Speaker 2 (03:06:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:06:36):
Two yards of carry for the two thousand yard rusher.
They blew them out and the MVP of the game,
Jalen Hurts through that early interception, remember that was on
the ye well, they had the pass interference offense the
first drive of the night where they didn't score, but
early second quarter he threw the pick on the pressure
by Nick Bolton and that was picked off at the
Kansas City too. They could have had points on that drive.

(03:06:58):
We had the first playoff matchup in the history of
the NFL where the starting quarterbacks each had zero interceptions
in their last two hundred plus pass attempts, and we
had a first half pick from Hertz and we wind
up with two interceptions thrown in the first half for Mames.

Speaker 8 (03:07:15):
Including the pick six that I don't know, if you
want to look at the moment where things really went
south for Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (03:07:22):
That's it. That's it, right, pick six by Cooper dejene
on his twenty second birthday. This was wow. Saquon Barkley's
twenty eighth birthday today, by the way, But and we
said it at the time, it was only mid second quarter,
but that was the first time I thought, oh my
Kansas City's in trouble. They're not down ten, it's seventeen
to nothing and they're doing nothing. Kansas City wound up

(03:07:44):
with just the one first down first half.

Speaker 2 (03:07:46):
I mean, I think, like seeing your coach do commercials
after they get blown out. I love that. Wise I
know that, but I still love it.

Speaker 8 (03:07:55):
The Eagles had a forty to six lead with eight
minutes to go in this game. Kansas City had two
I think it's fair to say garbage time touchdowns right
to make it tighter.

Speaker 3 (03:08:06):
Those were quick long drives for tds.

Speaker 8 (03:08:09):
This was a seventh This was a ten zero game.
When the Jeans pick six happened. The Chiefs then went
three and out. The Eagles got the ball back and
hit the play to aj Brown and at twenty four
zip and half. Arnie, we were starting to come out
at a buddy of mine that when we would call
a game and it was bad, he called it his

(03:08:29):
QBS notebook, standing for Quality bull Bleep. So whenever things
were bad, he'd open it up and he'd have all
these numbers or stats that you could debate. That's good
rain delay story exactly, all exactly, Arnie. We were into
our QBS stuff about midway through the second quarter.

Speaker 3 (03:08:47):
Well, we can update the stat that we did give
at about halftime. In Super Bowl history, first off, when
you shut out your opponent in the first half, you
always win. That's fourteen and oh. Now most improbably in
the history of the NFL playoffs, not just Super Bowl.
If in the first half you shut out your opponent
and you score at least seventeen points, you're undefeated forty

(03:09:10):
four and oh. In the playoffs. Wow, when you score
at least seventeen in the first half and shut your
opponent out in the first.

Speaker 8 (03:09:17):
An arney, you know how you love the win probability?
And you know I was talking about the the QBS stuff.
Oh yeah, the Chiefs were. Let's see here at the
very early point, at the very early portions of this game,
it was still fairly tight. But this game rolled into
the ninety one percent win probability for the Eagles with

(03:09:40):
seven minutes to go in the first half. Oh wow,
Which I said, that was right in the interception. That
was right when Cooper Degen had to pick six, and
it never dipped any lower than ninety Let's see you
there's ninety two percent. There was six percent, which with

(03:10:01):
one forty to go in the first half, which puts
us back to Darnie's question earlier. Does that have a
massive effect on the TV ratings for today?

Speaker 2 (03:10:08):
Here?

Speaker 3 (03:10:09):
The NFC Championship was not the highest rated game people
were watching Buffalo Kansas City. That was by far the
highest rated of a couple of weeks ago. In fact,
it broke the record for an AFC title game fifty
seven million TV viewers. I will add the way they
do the Nielsen ratings now, they do try and account
for out of home viewing, so some of the ratings
are larger now than say a Super Bowl twenty years

(03:10:30):
from now. I'll just go ahead and assume we're still
going to get a hundred million viewers on this, but
I can't imagine they still get close to the one
hundred and twenty million that some people were predicting for
tonight's game.

Speaker 2 (03:10:41):
Right, I agree with you on that too. I think
it's going to be down. TV's got turned off. Whenever
it's this much of a blowout, they're like, forget about it.
I wonder if the foot off Eagles now are going
to becoming the Kansas City Chiefs of the most hated
team next year.

Speaker 3 (03:10:53):
Got a while ago, Well, it's back to people treating
Philadelphia as they did before because kind of like some
people hated New York fans and whatever sports and eventually
the Red Sox won so much people nationally hated the
Red Sox and their fans. We've seen enough. This was
the one year that Philadelphia seemed to get a pass,
even though their fans have quite the reputation nationally. There's

(03:11:14):
not a lot of states that are in favor of
Philadelphia teams no winning, and yet I assume it'll just
go back to normal. And by the way, it's official
that Philadelphia will draft last in the first round. Now,
oh NFL champion Tennessee Titans are on the clock for
the number one draft choice in late April. Cleveland will
draft number two.

Speaker 8 (03:11:34):
We'll come back with our final thoughts from the game.
More post game coverage as the Chiefs fall to the Eagles,
the Philadelphia Eagles or Super Bowl champs, and we're talking
about it all night on Fox Sports Radio. I want
to take a minute, Arnie. By the way, Fox didn't
mess around, did they. I know it was like, all right,
thank you, super Bowl is over. Time to get to

(03:11:54):
the floor because it is a blowout and there's probably
hardly any of you watching anymore. So we got to
get Lisa and Jammel squaring off. Here are Jamela. I
don't even know what happened. By the way, the h
gives a thumb.

Speaker 2 (03:12:08):
Cells Egos get one hundred and fifty seven thousand dollars
per player. That's not bad. The Chiefs get eighty two thousand.

Speaker 8 (03:12:15):
Kind of similar to what we all get from work
in the Super Bowl show. So so yeah, I think
so right. We watched the Super Bowl paid in pizza.
But it was really good pizza though, Yes, it was
a really good pizza.

Speaker 2 (03:12:28):
You're welcome. Is that from you, Arnie? Did you order that? No?

Speaker 8 (03:12:30):
But I say, well, boss Man, tip of the cap,
Scotta Shapiro, there was no side of Vermont Maple sirr.
Yeah there was, Scott, thank you, and first of all,
a couple things, Arnie, thank you, Disagre, thank you. One
of these days, I'm either going to not have a
game that goes eleven innings or I'm going to time
out La traffic when I'm here. It's the only place
I've ever been in my life where you can be

(03:12:51):
nine miles from something. Yeah, and it takes you forty
five minutes to get there.

Speaker 2 (03:12:55):
On Super Bowl Sunday too, you think there's the times
like where are all these people going? Where are you going?

Speaker 3 (03:13:01):
So it is why when you're going to NFL games
in Los Angeles, you need to be there two to
three hours in advance.

Speaker 4 (03:13:07):
Thanks to Brandon Ian and Brianna, they were taking care
of all the sounds behind the scenes.

Speaker 2 (03:13:13):
Great job.

Speaker 8 (03:13:14):
Ryan Berschinger and Ricky Herrera. I mean, as soon as
the game is over, you hear boom, the Eagles are
super Bowl champions. That's Ricky grinding. Patrick and Mary think
you guys as always, and Arnie with all of the
entertainment here this evening. What's the biggest takeaway from tonight's game.
I think it's just that it was a dominating defensive
performance from Philly.

Speaker 2 (03:13:33):
Right, that the Eagles were a lot better team that
people gave them credit for. That. The Kansas City Chiefs,
even though they did only lose one game this year
until they got to the super Bowl, they did get
a little bit of luck winning all those one possession games.
I didn't think they were as strong as the seventeen
to one team really should be. That's why the spread
was one and a half. So congratulations the Eagles, well deserved,

(03:13:56):
well played.

Speaker 3 (03:13:56):
Good victory for them, and you call them seventeen and
one just because they sat people on the last day
of the season. So they finished fifteen to two regular season.
But we can't say it enough that this Philadelphia team,
perhaps because of their start this year, was underestimated. A
two and two start going into a bye week means
not only people are upset with how you're going and

(03:14:19):
starting to write you off as far as your championship chances.
But they've got a full week to do so. When
they returned from the bye week and actually returned to
the field to play in mid October. From mid October
to now one loss, they finish eighteen and three after
a two and two start. This is incredibly impressive. They

(03:14:40):
also had the number one ranked defense for the full
regular season.

Speaker 2 (03:14:45):
This is not an anomaly.

Speaker 3 (03:14:46):
And I add that they even without the rushing being
there from the running backs tonight, they had the number
one running back in the NFL this year. The last team,
in fact, the only team in the Super Bowl era
that had the number one defense and leading rusher in
the same season was EMMITTT. Smith with Dallas nineteen ninety
two and they won the Super Bowl.

Speaker 8 (03:15:05):
I mean, I'm still in shock by how one sided
it was. But also in all Arnie that we had
two coaches win championships in football this year that were both.

Speaker 4 (03:15:14):
Fired during the season.

Speaker 8 (03:15:16):
Ryan Day at Ohio State at Nick Sirianni in Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (03:15:20):
All fan base is one.

Speaker 3 (03:15:21):
Of them gone even one worst with Ohio State because
we thought the season was over, but if you couldn't
get more depressed than the Ohio State fan base after
that egg they lay it against Michigan.

Speaker 8 (03:15:32):
Arnie, you said something really smart about the Chiefs and
now their path going forward. Patrick Mahomes is just seventeen
and four in the playoffs, two of those losses in
the Super Bowl, two of those losses in AFC Championship games.
So I mean it's only four playoff losses have been
nearly like at the highest level. Concerns going forward. You're

(03:15:52):
in a division now that is and I'm not trying
to make the Raiders good. Broncos are better, right charge
me to get back to Stafford. I said that article
you did, but I just don't want to believe anything
right now. Everything is fake news to me right now
in the offseason, Arnie, just everything is. But going forward,
you still expect the Chiefs to be good. They lost
in the Super Bowl, for goodness, Nokes, they did lose

(03:16:14):
in the Super Bowl. They do expect them to be good,
but not dominant. And like I said, the division is better.

Speaker 2 (03:16:19):
The conference wasn't that tough this year when all you're
thinking about is getting by Baltimore and Buffalo. Good point,
and you have Buffalo's number when it comes to the playoffs.
So I didn't think the AFC was that strong this year.
And plus a lot of question marks in the offseason.
You mentioned the free agents on Kansas City. What are
they gonna do about the offensive line? Are they going
to get another receiver? And I think they got to

(03:16:40):
do something about the running back situation because I'm not
going to bring back Hunt. And I got to worry
about Pacheco even though he was he was hurt a
little bit. I need a better running back.

Speaker 3 (03:16:49):
Maybe their chances for the postseason though it's still this way.
If you finish as the one seed, you avoid that
entire wildcard weekend and boom, one win and you're hosting
the conference championship.

Speaker 8 (03:17:00):
A couple of quick tweets to the show. Roger the Engineer,
the number one Chiefs fan my R Tribal checked in,
and of course he writes, well, I've watched a lot
of chief losses over the years. This one is tough,
but how can you complain after the last seven years?
My homes and the Chiefs will be back next year

(03:17:20):
and so will I. All Right, Roger the Engineer, very humble.
Darryl writes it, Plank, just say, is it already out?
As far as the spreads are concerned for next year?
We live in a microwave society now, Plank, not a
conventional oven society. Welcome to the new world. Brother, Hey,
I get it, Darryl, I understand. But Alreadie, we haven't
even had free agent moves yet. How can you have

(03:17:41):
odds for next year already?

Speaker 2 (03:17:42):
Well, that will change dramatically, but they like to get
those out in big time right away. I'm surprised though,
that in Kansas City right up there as the favorite
right now over Philadelphia.

Speaker 3 (03:17:57):
That does shock postgame on FS one as Fox went
to the game. Can we note that Philadelphia season started
in Brazil and they wound up winning the Super Bowl
That was a streaming only game to start the season.

Speaker 8 (03:18:08):
Season started in Brazil one to zero Plank being late
to the Super Bowl show Eagles one and one who
knew and also our buddy LJ. Don't ever compare Patty
Mahomes to the goat Tom Brady. Brady never got blown
out in TV in the Super Bowl. All the Chiefs
points were trash, so true, so true. Patrick Mahomes has

(03:18:28):
thrown seven interceptions. In five Super Bowls. Tom Brady threw
six in ten total games. Thank you to Seger, Thank
you Patrick, thank you Mary Mack. Thanks to Brandon, Ian
and Brianna. Thanks to Ryan and Ricky. Thank you Arnie.
Have a great week, buddy. We'll be back in our
normal Sunday night slots.

Speaker 4 (03:18:44):
Next week eron Torres. Mark will and are now
