Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. What a title? Are

Darkness is in the house of Jonas Knocks. The story
is Jonas Knock. This well be guys. Like I said,
Judas Knocks is coming through your speakers like the right

(00:22):
cross from a boxer that you've never heard of. What's
going on here and now, live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios, here's Jonas Knocks. You're really going through with this,
hun Cheese. I'm not going to Jose's tonight, Sam, leave

(00:55):
me alone. We got ourselves a situation in the NFL
that I think everybody is just about fed up with.
We'll get into that coming up here in just a
couple of moments. From now, Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio.
You can hang out with us as always on the
I Heart Radio app. You can find us on hundreds
of affiliates all across the country and wherever you are

(01:15):
making us a part of your Saturday morning. We appreciate
you doing so. We're gonna take you all the way
up until noon Eastern time nine am Pacific right here
on fs are Now. The good news is football is
back a right, football is back now, don't let anybody
tell you it's not all right. There's gonna be a
lot of people that tell you it's not There's gonna
be a lot of people that want to be negative,

(01:36):
and they don't want to dismiss the entire thing. Don't
even don't acknowledge that, don't give it any attention. And
I've got the numbers to prove why. We'll get to
that here shortly as well too. But I gotta be
honest with you. There are times where we go over
the same things over and over again. And I've talked

(01:58):
about it on the show before to where when COVID
hit there was plenty to talk about. It was just
the same stuff over and over again, and so you
gotta come up with different angles and different takes and
different opinions and different this and that, and it's a
it's just and at some point, and that's why I

(02:21):
never bury people Like if you've ever heard a host
go on the air and say something that's the complete
opposite of what he previously said, and while you're listening
to him or watching him, do you think to yourself
or her? You think to yourself, dude, you just said
the exact opposite like two weeks ago. Listen, when you're

(02:41):
talking about the same thing over and over again, sometimes
you forget what you said. Sometimes you go in a
different direction, and sometimes you get new information and therefore
it changes your opinion. That's just the reality. Here's where
I stand on the whole Deshaun Watson thing. I'm done.

(03:03):
I'm over it. I I am exhausted by the whole thing.
I I got into sports talk radio because I loved
radio growing up. I love sports growing up. I love
the magic of it. I still get this rush every
time I walk into a radio studio, or every time

(03:25):
the mic goes on, or every time I see the
on air button. Like I it's still fun. I still
love it. I didn't get into law or practice law
because I wasn't interested. And I've had to learn so
much about how law works and how litigation works and

(03:47):
all these other things because of this Deshaun Watson case
and a bunch of other stuff as well too, that
when it comes to Deshaun Watson, Dan Snyder, some of
the other things that are out there, I am done. Like, dude,
figure it out. Are you going to take the team

(04:08):
away from Dan Snyder? Yes? Or no, well, we don't
have grounds to do. Okay, cool, go away until you're
taking the team away, Like, what are we doing this for.
You're gonna chase him around on a yacht in the
Mediterranean trying to get him to to to do some
zoom call where he's probably got an earpiece in and

(04:29):
some lawyer telling him, don't answer that a Dan, don't
answer that, Dan. There's evidence there and be sure tread
lightly here, Dan, Like like, at some point, dude, you
gotta move on. And when it comes to de Shaun Watson,
at some point this is gonna be over with And
I can't effing wait. We we have run the gamut

(04:53):
on this story and covered every angle every time you
name it. Now, as it a applies to the Browns
on the field, there's plenty there. We still got a
ways to go when it comes to that. But as
it were, in regards to the punishment of Deshaun Watson,
he gets the six games. Now the NFL files an appeal.
Now there's some speculation that it could be anywhere from

(05:18):
you know, eight games to an entire season. There's been
a ten million dollar flying fine rumor thrown out there.
All the other possibilities that could come with Deshaun Watson
getting punished. Dude, figure it out, seriously, figure it out.
Make a decision. And and the good news is once
they make this final decision, it's binding. Everybody's in agreement,

(05:40):
and then we go forward. Let's just go. Man. And
I don't want to speak on behalf of Deshaun Watson.
And and I don't want to try and give it
first of all that he doesn't like me already block
me on Twitter. I have no idea why. I mean,
I think I have a couple of guests is why.
But you know, well, what do you want me to do?

(06:00):
All right? The guy, the guy has been a proven
liar multiple times over what do you want me to do?
He lied multiple times. But if I were to advising
Deshaun Watson at some point, you got a pull them
aside and say, hey, I know that you know you
don't want to lose any money here, all right, but
you got two thirty million dollars guaranteed. Uh, you might

(06:24):
have to fork over a little bit of that, meaning
like eight ten million dollars, and you might have to
be suspended for like twelve games. And I threw it
out yesterday on the show with with Brady quinnin LaVar
Arrington and I said, do you think Deshaun Watson would
rather be suspended for an entire season or rather be
suspended twelve games and get a ten million dollar fine?

(06:47):
And we all agreed probably the entire season, which tells
you the financial aspect of this that a lot of
people aren't bringing up. And I think that was part
of the reason why there was the outrage of the
six games because there was no fine, So people are
looking around. Go hold on a second, So he gets
suspended six games and he's still gonna make forty five

(07:09):
something million dollars this year. How does that work? Well,
it works because the Browns facilitated that because they structured
the contract the way they did it, And thus is
this is where we are. So bottom line, dude, somebody
figure this out. If you could get this done before
the end of the show, I mean, we got a

(07:29):
couple hours, it would be very much appreciated. That way,
we can move forward and we can all just start
focusing on the season. And there's plenty to talk about
when it comes to the Browns and this season, but
at some point you gotta put this thing to bed.
You gotta get over it. We gotta move on. I'm
ready for it, You're ready for it. Let's go. Jonas Knox,

(07:50):
Fox Sports Radio. All right. So, the the other story
I saw out there, which was very interesting. If you
found yourself on Thursday night watching that Hall of Fame game,
that preseason game, and you were a little bit excited
about it, and one of your buddies or co workers,

(08:10):
one of these a holes that you associate yourself with,
made a comment something along the lines of, dude, it's
not even real football. Dude, the starters aren't even playing.
Why do you want to watch that? It's preseason, it
doesn't even count. You're just getting your hopes. So if

(08:31):
you heard something like that while you were trying to
enjoy the game, maybe sitting in a bar having a
cocktail at happy hour, trying to watch the football game.
And for those of you on the East coast, yes,
it starts at five o'clock out here on the West coast,
which is why I made the happy hour reference. Don't
be so nitpicky here on the air. This early in
the morning. I realized it was eight Eastern time, and

(08:52):
you had a rain delay, and all the other things
to go along with it. Don't be selfish. People out
here watch it at different at different times on the you.
So just because the started later for you doesn't mean
you have to be so judgmental. But I digress. But
if you were sitting around watching that game, getting excited
about it, and somebody gave you a hard time, started
really breaking your balls about watching a preseason game, why

(09:13):
don't you tell him this? According to Dove Kleiman, who
covers the NFL, five point seven million people watched the
Hall of Fame game on NBC the Stanley Cup in
two thousand twenty two average four and a half million viewers.

(09:39):
Game three of the NBA Finals in average just under
six million dollars or six million viewers. So you've got
those two major sporting events, and the NFL rolls out
a quote unquote bag of crap preseason game in which
you have neither star in quarterback in the lineup, Davante Adams,

(10:03):
who was one of the big offseason acquisitions, not in
the lineup, and you've got the Jaguars making up one
half of that lineup. On top of the fact that
you've got a weather delay in Canton Ohio on a
weeknight and they pull those type of numbers. It's king.

(10:28):
It doesn't matter what they throw out there. They can
give you that and it doesn't matter. And it's one
of the big reasons why. And I heard somebody say, well,
you know, I mean, it's basically like glorified USFL, because
look at you had something. You had some name players
out there. Josh Jacobs was there, Trayvon Walker was there.
You had some name players out there, but you didn't

(10:51):
have the stars. But the difference between this and a
USFL or an XFL, or an a a F or
anything like that in football is the same reason why
college football will always draw better than all those other
leagues that are trying to start up and create another

(11:12):
NFL because the fan bases. You have an emotional tie,
a connection to those fan bases. If you're a Jags fan,
if you're a Raiders fan, Yeah, we get it. Trevor
Lawrence wasn't in the game, Derek Carr wasn't in the game.
You know who was in the game, The Raiders and Jags,
those are your teams. It doesn't matter that Derek Carr

(11:37):
wasn't in the game. It doesn't matter that Trevor Lawrence
wasn't in the game, because you still got your teams,
you still have that rooting interest. It's why college football
should never feel threatened by an XFL or an a
a F, or a USFL or any of these other leagues,
because they can't present to you a loyalty and a

(11:59):
fan base that you get from watching college football. They
just can't. Like, you can have as many USFL games
in Birmingham as you want, you're not gonna You're not
gonna draw better than Alabama. You're not gonna get people
that that root for Auburn interested in that more so

(12:19):
than their own team. You a B Troy name another
Alabama program, because you have an emotional tie, because you
have years upon years upon decades upon centuries of loyalty
based on the fan base. So when you see those numbers,
or if people gave you a hard time and they

(12:41):
started breaking your balls and saying, hey man, what are
you doing. It's a preseason game. You gotta get alive.
Tell them to go screw themselves. Politely, tell them to
go screw themselves, and tell them the numbers are proof.
All that was was a Hall of Fame game with
no starting quarterbacks in and that's the number they drew.
This is gonna be a massive season yet again for

(13:04):
the NFL. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. Get me on
Twitter at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas Kucks on Twitter.
You can hang out with us as always on the
I Heart Radio app. We're gonna have the usuals coming
up later on, We're gonna have another edition of Do
You Care. We're also gonna have the Scraps. It's all yours,
a two hour extravaganzas we have some fun here on
a Saturday morning. Coming up next though, the opposite of fun,

(13:25):
there's a story that is starting to pick up steam
in the National Football League and it is not good
news for a Super Bowl contender. We'll get into that
for you right here on Fox Sports Radio. Are you
ready for some football? Ah? Man, that's a that's a dirty,
dirty trick, dirty radio trick here. That is a what

(13:48):
a scumbag move behind the scenes by the production crew here,
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with
us as always on the I Heart Radio app. So
we are going to get into a story in the NFL. Listen.
I think it's a little bit troublesome. Gotta be honest
with you, I think it's a little bit troublesome for
one team a Super Bowl contender. So we'll get to

(14:09):
that here momentarily. But I do want to mention this,
and I've talked about this before, but I think it's
kind of interesting when you can take people behind the scenes,
behind the curtaineer, because a lot of people are gonna
want to tell you stories about radio, and they're gonna
tell you how professional it is and how everybody's a
professional broadcaster and everybody takes their job serious. And part

(14:30):
of that is true. Everybody does take their job serious,
but not everybody's a professional right case in point, I
was just absolutely knife right as we went back on
the air, okay, because there's a chance where they're telling
me whether or not we're live, and iowas Sam and

(14:51):
I can tell he's getting really really excited because he's
gonna be going to some party at Guillermo's later and
so he's really really a fire up about it later
on tonight, and so right as we went back on
the air, he called me an insult that was so
egregious that if you said it out loud in front
of your parents. They would electrocute you. That's how that is,

(15:14):
how insulting it was. So just imagine trying to be
one of the only professionals as a member of this show,
trying to do your job, coming back on the air
to talk about sports and serious content and serious topics
and having Iowa Sam Alright, a man who disappeared into
the corn fields of Iowa for like three weeks straight

(15:36):
and miss this show kicks me in the balls right
as we come back on the air. So that's what
I'm dealing with here, all right. So it is. It
is a cruel and unusual punishment, and you ought to
be ashamed of yourself. It's nothing worse than you've seen
on Twitter. Let's be honest. Well, I think this is
the most egregious thing you have done since you and

(15:58):
your buddies got liquored up on mg D and made
crop circles in your parents backyard. You ought to be
ashamed of yourself. You ought to be Okay, Well, that's
that's fine. I have have fun with all that and
explain your stories to the cops there. But again, this
is what I'm dealing with here. A savage, A horrific
human being assaulting me verbally as we come back from breaks.

(16:21):
So just so you know, that's what I gotta deal with.
And when when you're hearing commercials and these commercials are
tremendous and promos from Fox Sports Radio that I in
my ear am getting assaulted verbally by members of this show.
We don't need to bring Jonas in. Thank you, all right,
So give me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks at
the Jonas Knocks on Twitter, and we're gonna have some
funny later on this hour. We're gonna have another edition

(16:43):
of Do You Care? Because there were some stories that
came up in the world of sports this week that
I absolutely cannot believe are of interest to people in
our sports, in our community, and we're gonna make fun
of them for it. So, Uh, there is a developing
situation in the NFL and it's been kind of dismissed

(17:04):
and I've I've been hearing some rumblings about it over
the past week or so, past couple of weeks, and there's, uh,
you know, people have tried to be really optimistic about it,
and the more information that comes out, the more you realized,
you know, this could be a little bit of a problem.
So Matt Stafford is dealing with this bad tendonitis and

(17:26):
his throwing elbow. Now, he had a procedure done this offseason.
He didn't have a surgery, had a procedure done to
where they did some work on the elbow and they
were hoping that was going to alleviate some of the issues.
And then it popped up again and they've been having
more issues and more issues, so they are diagnosing it

(17:47):
with bad tendonitis quote unquote, Well, Sean McVeigh ever, the Optimist,
talked with the media recently and tried to explain what
Matt Stafford was going through him and the more you
hear him talk about it, the more you realize this
is gonna be an issue moving forward. It's a little
bit abnormal for quarterback. You know, some of this stuff

(18:08):
is is things that you know MLB pictures deal with,
and so it is something that you know, we're kind
of learning about on the fly and and his feedback
and really trying to just figure out, Okay, how do
we get the best plan in place to try to
minimize some of the things that he was having to
push through. Also giving him the confidence that Hey, I
can really just you know, let it go, not have
to worry about it, play to the best of my ability,

(18:29):
and this is the plan that we feel best about.
But it is something that you know, I've never navigated
through as a coach with a quarterback. You know, you've
had little elbow things here and there. But this is
something that we want to you know, be as smart
as possible, and and it's it's taken a big team
to try to do that. Yeah. Uh, if he's looking
around for the big team and you're talking with MLB

(18:51):
doctors and trying to get a grasp on how this
thing is gonna go, this leads me to believe that
this is not only going to be an issue, but
it's probably going to be an issue for the remainder
of the season. And I don't know if it's the
type of issue to where he's gonna miss games. I
don't know if this is something to where Matt Stafford
is gonna have to shut it down for a couple

(19:11):
of weeks just to just to get better or get right.
But anybody who's dealt with tendonitis, and I think everybody
has at some point in their life, whether it's I've
edited my shoulder, my knee, my hip. You, like anybody
who's dealt with tendonitis before, rest is really the best
thing for it, and you can rehab it a little bit,

(19:32):
but you've got to rest otherwise you're just gonna keep
on making it worse and making it worse and making
it worse, and it's never gonna heal. So it's not
like Matt Stafford needs the preseason reps. It's not like
he needs to play in preseason games. But he's not
even thrown with the team. And you've got the season
opener coming up on September eight, so we're about a

(19:56):
month out from the season opener. He's not thrown with
the team, and you're having to talk with MLB doctors
because you're trying to figure out what the hell is
going on with his elbow after he got treatment for
it in the off season. I mean, call me crazy,
but kind of an issue. And this is exactly why

(20:19):
when teams get an opportunity and I always say this,
but it's like we know this in the moment, yet
we forget completely about it the next year or the
year after or the year after that. If you have
an opportunity to win a championship. If you have an
opportunity to close the deal or close the door or

(20:39):
or whatever it is, close the sale, get it done
while you have that chance, because there is zero guarantee
you're gonna be able to get back there. There's a
lot of luck and a lot of things that have
to go into you getting an opportunity to try and
compete for a title at the very least, or try
and win a championship. And so when I hear Bengal

(21:01):
fans that are really optimistic about the season because hey,
you know, listen, yeah we lost in the Super Bowl.
It sucks, but you know what, we'll be back. We're
a young team. We got a franchise quarterback. Okay, I
mean you got a franchise quarterback who just had an
appendectomy and he's participating in team conditioning drills on a
golf cart. Like, sometimes you need things to go your way.

(21:28):
You need luck, you need injury help, you need a
lot of that stuff to try and benefit you moving forward,
and if you don't get it, you're probably screwed. Just
like a lot of other teams. Ask Bills fans how
comfortable they feel going into this season, they're Super Bowl favorites,
their favorite to win the Super Bowl. Five times in

(21:51):
the history of the NFL has the preseason Super Bowl
favorite got on to actually win the Super Bowl. And
that's a franchise and a fan and base who has
seen nothing but heartbreak when it comes to big games,
and you look at it and go, yeah, but they're loaded,
and they got a franchise quarterback, and man, if it
wasn't for a coin flip, they would have won that

(22:11):
game against the Chiefs, and and who knows, maybe they
beat the Bengals and they go to the Super Bowl. Okay,
we'll never know, but all I know is they didn't
get it done. So when you get an opportunity to
close the deal, you better do it because there's no
guarantees you're gonna get back there. And if you're the Rams,
this is not good news that Matt Stafford's having to

(22:32):
deal with this. But at least you want a Super Bowl.
At least you got it done last year and you
don't have to worry about well, you know, is that
our best chance? And now he's getting older and he's
got injuries and it's just not our Sometimes teams are
steak bit. Look at the Ravens last year. I mean,
the Ravens had multiple injuries. Every single running back they

(22:54):
had on the roster was injured. They were they were
picking guys up before the season on the free a
gent wire that we're starting week one, that we're getting
major playing time week one, that weren't even a part
of the of their camp because they were so riddled
with injuries. They had injuries with Lamar Jackson later on
in the season, so there's no guarantee. So if you're

(23:16):
the rams a it's tough. It sucks. Matt Stafford is
a little bit banged up. You hope some rest helps.
You got a month before the season kicks off, and
then you go from there. It sounds to me like
this is a lot more serious than they anticipated, which
is why they're bringing in other quote unquote experts, experts
to try and figure this thing out. But the good
news is at least you have John Wofford as your

(23:39):
backup quarterback. And that's not the scoff at John Wafford.
I just think it's um. I think it's important to
note that he does look like Gary Oldman, so so
at least you have a backup quarterback in John Wofford.
That looks like Gary Oldman. So if you were wondering, like, hey,
who's gonna be the replacement for Matt Stafford if he
does have to miss any time, don't worry about it.

(24:01):
It's the pimp from True Romance. So there is a
brighter side of things. Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio, all right,
it's coming up next. We do have some more shenanigans
out of the world of football uh NFL specifically, We
will get into that for you right here on fs ARE,
but for all the latest from around the world of sports,
ladies and gentlemen. This is a man who gives you
nothing but excellence, nothing but perfection, nothing but professionalism every

(24:26):
single weekend you listen to Fox Sports Radio. He is
one of the founding fathers of the Update Desk. He
is sports Talk radio Royalty. There is nothing in broadcasting
this man can't do. And I presented the Sir Isaac Loancron.

(24:49):
There's actually one thing that I have not been able
to do that you actually did this morning. What's that
inspire someone to create a Twitter account just because of
force of your personality. Here's a tweet at the Jonas knocks.
I literally created a Twitter account just to say I
really enjoy your weekend show and two pros at a

(25:11):
cup of Joe, keep up the great work. I've never
heard of somebody going to the trouble to create their
own Twitter account just to compliment someone. So that is
what you have achieved less than half an hour in
how about it. See it's not all negative out there.

(25:34):
I mean, there's a there's a lot of a lot
of losers who sit on Twitter and uh and and
get angry about stuff that doesn't matter. But it's not
all that. There is some positivity out there. And see
we've done it, Isaac. We've shined a bright light on
positive aspects of social media. Very complimentary. But it really
wasn't we. It was you in this case, they knocks

(25:55):
there there is no me on this show. It is
all we, all right, It is all we. Even though
some of us are a little bit distracted, like you,
myself and I and Ryan Burr Shinger, we are all
excited to do the show. Iowa, Sam is happy because
he's going to Umberto's later and he's really fired up
about it, really excited. Actually, I have to admit I

(26:15):
have been quite distracted over the last two minutes since
you dropped the John Wolford Gary Oldman lookalike deal. You're
absolutely right. I can't believe it. I can't believe it.
I'm telling you. First time I saw him take his
helmet off, I was like, hey, dude, I loved you
an immortal beloved, you know, like when he like, I mean,
he played Beethoven and immortal belove. But I thought it

(26:36):
was fantastic. I mean, it's have you ever seen them
at an event at the same time, I'm just have Yeah,
I haven't. But Gary Oldman, by the way, I remember
taking an acting class years and years and years ago,
and I remember them, and I went to several of these,
and you know how there there's some people who people

(26:58):
in the industry like, no, no, no, they're legit, like
like you can talk like they're they're like broadcasters out
there where you go, uh oh, well so and so
it is really good. And then you can bring up
a name that doesn't get as much attention and you go, no, no, no, no, dude,
he's legit, like like that's that's a really good broadcaster.
Doesn't get a lot of the shine that some of
these other big names do if you if you talk

(27:21):
to well, yeah, I mean come on, of course, I
mean Steve Sager. Yeah, I hear you, agree, I hear you.
If you was that Ett's look at me? Did Et
just open a mic and say Steve to Sagar's first name, Sam,

(27:49):
when did we When did we book e T? I'm
looking at the rundown here. Oh okay, e T? The
extra sn really book the et reimbursing ET for his
mileage is gonna be murder. It doesn't sound like Et
crit He's dying and he's all bloated in white and

(28:14):
rusty and the pond do a side by side Steve
and then Et saying Elliott, and I'm telling you it's
the same octave. Oh my god, tell me. But if
you but if you talk, if you talk to actors,
they'll tell you like because a lot of these like
who's the guy who played a Lincoln Daniel Lewis, He's

(28:38):
like one of these method actors. He's got to get
in the role for the scene. It works, It works,
all right, cool, it works. You don't need to get
you don't need to become the role. Just do your job.
And when they say cut, then you go on and
be a normal person. You got, you got, you gotta
pay the price. He's he's paying the price. Three Academy
Awards for Best Actor. He only does like one movie

(28:59):
every couple of years. Is he's so thorough? I mean,
come on, Isaac, he's playing Lincoln. Okay, when they say cut,
go back to being Daniel. Don't continue on. What did
he do when he got home? No? No, no, no no,
I can ask the plate. He asked how the play
came out? Oh yeah, I got Oh jesus, what that

(29:21):
happened in the eighteen sixty five? Is it too soon
to make a Lincoln joke? My god? And you, of
all people who doesn't get offended by anything? Oh, my god?
How the play come out? Happy to be joined by
Isaac Wilkes booth here on Fox Sports Radio, I mean,
good Christ, you know where we're going there. But I

(29:46):
digress um your milkshake? Yeah cool, I freak it up.
Get a life, dude. Here's here's what they'll tell you
when you are go to an acting class. Gary Oldman
is one of those guys that never gets attention. That
is the real deal, Like that is legitimately a good actor.
But I digress here as and I hate to take

(30:08):
it away from you. Isaac. Sorry for steering you in
the wrong direction so you can make a joke like
that on the air. I apologize. I wasn't making a joke.
It was a legitimate question. How the plate come out? Anyway,
speaking of the play coming out, here's how it came out.
Last night at Dodger Stadium. They defeated the Padres eight
to one. Tony Gonsolin struck out six and five innings
to improve his record to thirteen and one. Dylan see

(30:29):
So the White Sox improved his record to twelve and
four and there to one victory at Texas. Paul the
Young of the Cardinals the game, wanting to run double
in the bottom of the eighth inning. They defeated the
Yankees four to three and break up the Philadelphia Phillies.
They've won eight of nine after seven to triumph over
the Washington Nationals. Kyle Gibson had a perfect game going
through six innings. Phillies at the plate hit five home runs,

(30:50):
including Kyle Schwarber's National League leading thirty four in the NFL.
Tom Brady was back at Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice this
morning after having to attend to a personal matter yesterday.
Mike Evans not practicing today after tweaking his as hamstring
in practice yesterday. Jonas back to you, and you really
never finished that story about you being in the acting class.

(31:11):
There's nothing to tell. I mean it was, you know,
there's look very nice people. Some of them tried way
too hard, just way too hard. It should First of all,
they give you a script, they tell you what your
role is, you practice it, and then you go perform
in front of these directors and producers and all this.

(31:35):
So it was cool. But I would see I remember
seeing this dude, and I think I've probably told this
story on the air, but I remember seeing this guy
where his role was. He was playing like a deranged
military guy. And he showed up to the acting class
and like some crummy like army jacket, but not even

(31:55):
like a legitimate army jacket, like something you would get
it old Navy, uh, like for for Halloween. And he
shows up and he's like talking to himself and he's
getting into the scene and he's like really getting fired up.
And I'm looking at this guy going a man. It's
a Sunday morning, at eleven fift we're to strip mall

(32:16):
in Sherman Oaks. You're staring into the window of a
laundry map that's not even open on Sunday's trying to
get into the role of a deranged military guy. Go
pick up a waiter shift. What are we what are
we doing here? Dude? Read the script. Go stand in
front of these weirdos and do your best, like pay

(32:39):
your twenty five bucks like the rest of us, and
move on. But for whatever reason, people take themselves are
really really seriously when it comes to that. You know,
I can't tell me that that was Daniel day Lewis
and your acting class wasn't. No, like I was too short.
I think Daniel de Lewis is like what six two
or something like that. I don't know. You're the guy
who ripped him, And suddenly you know how tally is
I ripped him, I mean the guy he was playing.

(33:01):
I felt like you ripped him. But again, uh, look,
I'm not trying to, uh, you know, be be uber
sensitive here, but I just feel like, you know, I
didn't know we were going to take out Daniel day
Lewis in the way that we did. I mean, you know,
you're the one who ripped him for you know, them
going cut in him him still being in character and
doing my I don't understand it. Like I remember them

(33:21):
telling me a story that was that Jack Nicholson played,
was that movie Wolf where he played like a werewolf,
and I remember them saying like, yeah, you know when
you talked to Jack off screen, he was still the
werewolf and I'm like, oh my god. Well Will Smith
did the same thing for one of the early roles
in his career. He he had this breakthrough role. I
forget what it was. It might have been six Degrees

(33:43):
of Separation, but he actually got so into it that
he fell it, like literally fell in love with his
co star, Uh Stockard Channing. I want to say, I
mean that's method acting. Yeah, that's that's called get in life.
Is what that's called. Like if you're if you're playing
a werewolf and you fall in love with that role,

(34:04):
like like every time you see a silver spoon, like,
do you get nervous? You know what I mean? Like, oh, like, God,
better not turn that into a bullet that might kill.
Like That's why I don't understand this stuff. I don't
understand people that get so involved in these in these
roles like, oh, you know, once she's off camera, he's

(34:24):
the same character. Okay, well then he's a loser. So
you're you're claiming that when Polly Sure portrayed Stony Brown
in Encino Man, he did not fancy himself as Stony
Brown when the cameras were not rolling as an effort
to really put all of himself into that role. Well,
I I mean, look, I'd rather be that than Brendan

(34:48):
Fraser be the actual and Sino Man. You know what
I'm saying, Like, if you're gonna be I fall in
love with a role like Polly Shore is basically a
pothead who microwaved burritos in a in a in a
liquor store, like that was his roll from the movie
that I remember. Brendan Frasier woke up in a block
of ice in somebody's garage. So like, if Brendan Frasier
is walking around with like war paint on, and he's

(35:10):
and like some mini skirt and he hasn't showered in
four thousand years. I mean, which, by the way, now
that I just described that, you can see many of
those Brendan Fraser stunt doubles just walked down Venice sometimes
like they're all over the place. So if anybody's ever
wondering what happened to these stunt double from Encino, man,
don't worry about it. Uh, they're in Venice. You can

(35:31):
go check them out there there and and make sure
you don't trip over their sleeping bag. All right. Jonas
Knocks Fox Sports Radio, get me on Twitter at the
Jonas Knocks. Coming up next is a star player in
the world of sports, a drug addict. We'll answer that
for you here at fs ARE. Oh yeah, you k well, Pantera?

(35:55):
About time Sam got some balls? Jonas Knocks Sports Radio.
You can hang out with us as always on the
I Heart Radio app coming up top of next hour.
Somebody is very delusional. All right, there's somebody, this is
an NFL story that is very delusional about the options
that their client has, and we will have that discussion

(36:15):
for you right here on fs ARE. Right now, though,
it is time for something we do every single week,
and it's called this. There's so many stories in the
world of sports, and most of them are a complete
waste of time reports. Let's get kinky. Here's some of
the big stories from the last week. But Jonas, the
real question is do you care? And for that we

(36:39):
turn it over to our executive producer, Ryan Burr Shinger
to find out what the hell is going on verse. Well,
Aaron Rodgers credited psychedelic drugs for the best season of
his career, his back to back m vps. Jonas, do
you care? Yeah? I think it's tremendous. This is just
this is outstanding, like he is taking his game to

(37:00):
another level and then come to find out it's because
he did what did he do, like lick a toad?
Or was this like some sort of shrooms? Like what
is it? What they called D M T or d
d T or whatever whatever whatever it's called. Who cares,
I've never done it before. But just the idea that
Aaron Rodgers, superstar, first ballot Hall of Famer, one of

(37:22):
the great quarterback talents in the history of the game,
took a drug and while on his trip was being
chased by the dog off never ending story and turned
that into back to back m VP campaigns. I mean,
this is just tremendous through and through. I think it's
a win for the drug world. If you are a

(37:42):
drug addict, this has got to be something that you
look at and go, oh, man, that we we've we
were really onto something here. And the fact that Aaron
Rodgers could be open minded to it and and and
also air it out and be honest about it later on.
I mean, good for him. I'm not interested. I'm good
living in reality. I'm not here to judge, but I

(38:03):
just that's something I'm not really interested. And I have
no interest in, uh, you know, doing some sort of
a drug to where all of a sudden, you know,
I'm being attacked by Super Mario Brothers and the Incredible
Hulk while while they smoke weed out of out of
some woman shoe. I just that's not really a world
I want to live in. Next, the San Diego Padres

(38:24):
acquired Juan Soto Jonas. Do you care? Nope? Next, Bill
Belichick said fantasy football means nothing to him. Do you care? Yeah?
I care what is supposed to mean, but it's gonna
be so judgmental. Hey, listen, man, I got my fantasy
draft coming up in a couple of weeks, defending champion.

(38:45):
All right, I've got I've got major concerns. Right, It's
a ten person league PPR, and I draw pick number five,
which is which is the middle row on a Southwest flight.
It's awful, all right? There there is You know, you've
got nothing to look out on either side? Uh, and
the people next to you both smell next dressed. Lebron

(39:07):
James met with the Lakers front office in regards to
a possible contract extension. Jonas, do you care? Christ No,
I'm so tired of this. I'm so like every week
there's some some fictional Lebron James story because the NFL
NBA is so desperate to compete with the NFL. I'm
tired of it. Next, Warner Brothers canceled the release of

(39:28):
the film Bat Girl, despite it costing over seventy million
dollars to make. Jonas, do you care? No idea will
follow up though? Why why they cancel it? Is there
a reason for it? I mean, seventy million dollars and
you're just walking away from it. Why they cancel it?
I don't know. I guess it wasn't good there there
is that, Uh. Coach k your thoughts on canceling Backgirl.

(39:53):
I agree. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Fox Sports Radio Dot com and within the I Heart
Radio app search f s R to listen live. So
we got somebody that's a little bit delusional in the
world of sports. We will have some fun with this
coming up here in just a couple of moments from now,

(40:14):
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with
us as always on the I Heart Radio app. You
can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the
country and wherever you are making us a part of
your Saturday morning, we appreciate you doing so. We're gonna
take you all the way up through the end of
the hour newne certain time, nine am Pacific. Lots of Shenanigans,

(40:36):
lots of grab bass thus far in the program. Uh
so this has been a fun ride all the way through.
Now there is somebody who I believe is a little
bit delusional. Um, I'm not really sure, uh if they
believe what they're saying or that they're just sort of
talking um, but um. John Gruden's agent is speaking on

(40:58):
behalf of John grew and he says that he really
believes in his heart and soul that John Gruten is
going to coach again. Quote. I'd be very surprised if
he didn't. My question is what did John really do.
Most people wouldn't want their private emails from ten days

(41:19):
ago looked at. That's why if there was this was
to go to trial, it would be devastating for the
National Football League. End quote. All right, John Gruten's never
coaching in the NFL again. Ever, it's not happening now.
This isn't just because these emails and the stuff that

(41:40):
we're in the emails, Like listen, you can go back
and say, well, you know, it wasn't meant to be this,
and it wasn't meant to be that, whatever it is.
I mean, he still wrote the emails, he still said
some stuff that was very regrettable. And yes, this is
gonna get bad for the NFL, but it's not gonna
get bad for the NFL in the sense that John
Gruten did say these things. It's gonna get bad for

(42:01):
the NFL because there's going to be a discovery period
and you're gonna find out a lot more about what
what else was in these emails. So the fact that
they went through six hundred, seven hundred thousand emails and
they only found a few from John Gruden that they
thought were were enough to go ahead and fire him
and make a big spectacle of it. The fact that

(42:23):
all that went down, I mean, everybody knew there had
to have been more to the story, Like what else
is in the emails? Why why couldn't we find that?
You mean you mean to tell us there was nothing
else in the emails. Well, now we're gonna get to
when this does happen and it goes to discovery. If
John Gruden doesn't settle, and there's a lot of people
who feel like John Gruden is not going to settle,

(42:43):
the NFL would would desperately like him to settle. How
much do we owe you? Because the NFL doesn't want
this information to get out. Jon Gruden's got money. He
could wait this thing out. He can slow play the
NFL and everything be fine. So he's got money. He
didn't have to settle with anybody. So when when the

(43:05):
more more information and more details come out and all that, Yeah,
it's gonna be a bad look for the NFL, awful look,
and they are going to want to settle with John Gruden.
But when his agent comes out and says that I
really believe in my heart he's going to coach again.
I mean it's not gonna be in the NFL. Maybe College,
maybe one of these other leagues. But I don't think

(43:26):
it's happening in the NFL because I don't think people
want to deal with all that comes with John Gruden.
There's a reason why he chose the Raiders because he
wanted an opportunity to really take full control of an
organization and be the guy. He was a celebrity coach

(43:50):
and let's be honest about it, when he got to
Oakland that then Oakland Raiders. Part of the cell in
getting them an the in the excitement and the hype
around getting the Raiders to Vegas was Jon Gruden. He's
a TV star, He tremendous broadcaster. He can go be
a broadcaster again. I think that's very much a possibility

(44:15):
because he was great at it. He was awesome on
Monday Night Football. Outside of the fact that when him
and Sean mcdonnoh, we're calling the Steelers Bengals game on
Monday Night Football, that real physical game where everybody was
getting laid out. I think Juju Smith Schuster just flatlined
Vontes perfect and and uh Antonio Brown got hit in

(44:37):
the head and all that that was going on. I
remember watching Sean McDonough and and Jon Gruden and they
were saying things like, this is just a terrible look
for the league. I can't believe what has happen? Are
you kidding me? That was one of the most entertaining
football games I've ever seen in my life. I mean,
everybody was getting smoked in that game. Everybody, Oh me,

(44:59):
this is dangerous and it's reckless. Okay, but as far
as a watch goes, that was entertaining as hell. What
are you guys talking about? They they made it seem
like it was those two inmates who escaped Denimora and
they were like running in the woods, like assaulting trees,
like dude, and then and then one guy got his
head blown off, like dude. Come on, but this football

(45:22):
the teams hate each other. It's the Bengals and Steelers.
What are we talking about. It's not a prison break.
It's a physical game. So outside of that, I thought
John Gruden did a tremendous job. He was fantastic. But
his agent comes out and says, well, I really believe
he's going to coach again. No he's not. And I
don't even think that the job he did with the Raiders.

(45:43):
Was that bad? People forget when he did get fired,
they were in first place. I want to say they
were three and one, Like they started off hot, they
were heading in the right direction. You can you can
question some of the moves and the Khalil Mac move
of and and on all that stuff, but part of
the reason why the Raiders are in the position they

(46:04):
are is they did a mass talent. Now I think
Mike Mayock got got thrown under the bus and got
screwed over what I mean, if we're gonna be truthful
about it, I think he got sort of aired out
and and it's probably not thrilled about it. But the
idea that John Gruten's gonna coach again, I don't see

(46:25):
it happening. It's not happening because I don't think anybody
wants to deal with that because it's a spectacle. You
bring in Jon Gruden and there's gonna be a ton
of questions and a ton of attention and all of
that stuff, And some of these organizations would rather and
these owners have egos, they're not gonna want to have
to share any of the spotlight with John Gruden. So no,

(46:48):
I don't believe John Gruten's gonna coach again. I I
don't believe that's happening at all, but you know, hey,
it's his agent. He's got to get the narrative out there.
Good for him. I just don't see that happening. Jonas
knocks Fox sport Trading speak at a coaching I did
think about this. So there has been um a lot
of speculation about what's going to happen moving forward when
it comes to the Cleveland rounds. All right, so now

(47:09):
we've already addressed the Deshaun Watson situation. There is a
report that Deshaun Watson pushed back on a heavy fine
the first time they tried to negotiate some sort of
a common ground and a punishment on Deshaun Watson, that
that he uh that he was not willing to accept
a heavy financial um punishment. Ten million dollars was the

(47:31):
rumor that was thrown out there, and it's like, dude,
you're gonna lose some money. Like I know, you also
are delusional and you think you did nothing wrong, even
though there's testimonies of really gross stuff that was happening,
and you've acknowledged now after the fact that you did Uh,
some of these uh you know meetings did result in
some sort of a sexual um, you know situation that

(47:53):
that occurred afterwards, and you know it was consensual, but
things did happen even though you told everybody had a
girlfriend and you weren't there for those things and all
that stuff. So there's been flaws through all of the reasoning,
all the way through from Deshaun Watson side of things. There,
it has been flawed all the way through. You're gonna
lose some money here, like it is what it is,

(48:14):
You're gonna lose money. And and apparently that was part
of the reason why he pushed back initially because he
didn't want to have to pay a significant fine all
that stuff. So figure that out. Let's just move on
and let's move forward towards the season. But when it
comes to coaching, I was thinking about this, if you
were looking at Coach of the Year, you look at

(48:36):
a couple of different things. Obviously, you've got to have success,
but you don't have to win, you know, a super
Bowl or anything like this, because it's a regular season award.
You've just got to have some success and it's got
to be identified as success under difficult circumstances. If that's

(49:00):
how we're basing the Coach of the Year award, would
you not consider Kevin Stefanski to have some value to him? Now,
obviously he's one Coach of the Year before, but when
you look at what he's had to deal with, I
wonder if some of the voters see him as a
little bit of a sympathetic symbol. Like the Browns made

(49:22):
the move that they made, Jimmy and d has them
made the move. The front office made the move. Kevin
Stefans didn't make the move, all right, He's not the
one who's getting ripped because the Cleveland Browns went out
and gave DeShawn Watson two million dollars. And then on
top of that, if Deshaun Watson ends up missing significant time,
that's still a talented roster. There's still players there. Jacoby

(49:45):
Brisset's won games in this league. If the Browns end
up doing a little bit better than previously thought, and
then say you get DeShawn Watson back in week twelve
and they make a playoff run and they're a wild
card team, it's not crazy to think that Kevin Stefanski
would have a little bit of value to them. If

(50:07):
you go to draft Kings right now, they've got him
at twenty two to one. Way down the list. Brandon
Staley of the Chargers is sitting high at top the list.
That makes some sense. They're a trendy pick. Mike McDaniel
and the Dolphins are sitting there. Which, by the way,
I got news for for Dolphins fans. I'm not trying
to be negative here. You're probably gonna start off the
season no. One four. Just just want to be clear

(50:29):
on that. So if you're looking at the first month
of your season, it's gonna be a slow one. Just
so we're aware. I just want everybody to be understanding
to the fact that get Ready for Sky is falling
radio when it comes to the Miami Dolphins, because you're
probably starting off the season O. One four. You're home
against the Patriots, then you're at Baltimore, then you've got

(50:49):
the Bills, and then you're at Cincinnati on a short week.
I'm gonna go ahead and call that old four. Now,
the good news is you've got the Jets in week five,
so you're not gonna go oh and five. You're probably
gonna go one and four. But if you're a Dolphins fan,
we'll go ahead and we'll disqualify Mike McDaniel from the
conversation because that's a rough start to the season. Not

(51:11):
that they're not talented, but that's a rough start to
the season. You've got a short week mixed in there
with the defending a f C champions, the Dolphins are
probably screwed. But if you just look at the list
for Coach of the Year, if they end up figuring
out a way and Baker Mayfield struggled last year, everybody
knows that. But if Kevin Stefanski can devise some sort

(51:33):
of an offense and a game plan surrounding Jacobieber said,
and you end up finding yourself in the mix. And
then Deshaun Watson comes back and gives you a boost
and say you're a seven seed based on everything he's
had to deal with, not known who his starting quarterback was,
thinking you were gonna have a guy after week six,
only to find out it was week twelve or whatever

(51:54):
the suspension ultimately ends up being. I'm just saying, I
think there's some value on Kevin Stefan's ski twenty two
to one. Right now. You can get them on DraftKings
I think that's something to watch if the Browns end
up performing better than expected with Deshaun Watson out for
several weeks. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can get
me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas
Knocks on Twitter, and you can hang out with us

(52:16):
as always on the I Heart Radio app. But coming
up later on this hour, we're gonna have another edition
of the Scraps Things in the World of sports and
beyond that we have not had a chance to get
to so that'll be some fun here on FS are
coming up next though, there is a there's a situation
that is taking place in the NFL. It's very very interesting,

(52:39):
very fun to watch, very fun to see how this
whole thing plays out. Because I think somebody's got revenge
on their mind and I think there is a perfect
opportunity to get it. We'll have that for you right
here on Fox Sports Radio. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio.
You can hang out with us as always on the

(52:59):
I Heart Radio app. Uh. Coming up in about ten
minutes from now. I have received a note a text
message from a Fox Sports Radio team member. Here right
one of the greats at Fox Sports Radio. If you
are a loyal listener to the network. You hear this
individual often uh many many years of excellence here at

(53:23):
Fox Sports Radio, and they have reached out, uh and
they are going to be making an appearance a little
bit of a drive by coming up in about ten
minutes from now, so that this should be a treat
I mean, I listen, I'm a little bit surprised. I
had no idea a that they were up this early
and be up this early on a Saturday. But they
are fired up, and they weren't part of the conversation.

(53:44):
So we're gonna have some fun with that, and we
will reveal the the big surprise coming up ten minutes
from now. A Fox Sports Radio team member is going
to be joining us here coming up ten minutes from now.
Very very surprising. By the way, I'm gonna get to
this story in the NFL, I just want to mention this. Uh,
there's a there's a fair in town, all right, the

(54:04):
Ventura County Fair. I live in Ventura County in southern California,
basically where the Cowboys have training camp. For those of
you listening nationally in ox Neard, California, that's in Ventura County.
I'm about twenty minutes from ox and Ard and Cowboys
training camp, and uh, and there's a fair in town.
And I just want to say this. It's the first
time the Ventura County Fair has been back in a

(54:25):
couple of years, obviously because of COVID, and man, oh man,
are they making up for it? I mean, I think
I paid four thousand dollars for a corn dog. Jesus, Look,
I get it, you know, inflations everywhere. And also I'd
like to point out I believe that the rims on

(54:47):
the basketball shot are now even more oval. I think
the RIM's got COVID because you can't hit a shot.
To save your life. I'm getting harassed by some ten
year old on a skateboard some Tony hawk want to
be because I can't hit a shot. What do you
want me to do? Man? These rooms have COVID. So

(55:11):
it was fun, you know, like if you grew up
like I did. My family we couldn't really afford vacations.
There were so many kids and uh, you know it
just didn't have the money to do that. So we
would go to carnivals or affairs like that and you know,
have a good time and uh, yeah, it was. It
was very enjoyable. And and here's the one thing. I'm

(55:31):
walking around and I'm smelling all the food, cinnamon rolls, suroes,
the corn dogs, the popcorn, the kettle corn, and it's
just it's so much Americana. You can thank you, Reverend agreed.
The problem, Reverend is that I couldn't partake in any

(55:54):
of that because it wasn't my cheat day, So that
was terrible planning on my part. So I couldn't have
any of the cinnamon rolls or any of that stuff.
Many doughnuts, all of that, and it is and that
was barf grills, by the way, and the other thing
for a lot of people out there. I don't know
if you are fans of the program, but it did
make me wonder is the television show Carnival Eats still

(56:17):
on the air, because that was the show I was
a big fan of because I love carnivals and and
I love fairs and all the food that come along
with it and the concoctions like they will roll up
a dog deep fry it cut it into fourths and
it looks edible, like did they do amazing work on

(56:40):
that program? So I don't know if that's still out
and about on a television near you. But they need
to bring that back because that is one of the
great television shows in the history of mankind, Carnival Eats,
And I was reminded of how great it was seeing
some of the food that was out there at the
fair yesterday. So I just want to point that out.
Thank you. That is uh barf Grills again joining us

(57:03):
here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, so Jonas knocks
here on FS are Um Kyle Shannon. He was talking
about his relationship with Jimmy Garoppolo, and I want you
to listen to what he had to say first, and
then I just want to throw out of what if.
I'm just gonna throw out a little what if, a
little a little what if revenge scenario for Jimmy Garoppolo.
Here was Kyle Shannon. We have a real good relationship

(57:25):
with Jimmy. That's there's no secret here of what the
situation is. I think he fully understands the situation. We
fully understand the situation. So UM, we make the best
of it. And Jimmy's out there, He's feeling better and better.
Each day. Um, I still see him. I mean, we
have a real good relationship with Jimmy, and he's done
some really good things here. So um fans getting pumped

(57:46):
with them, and our players still love and seeing him.
That doesn't surprise me at all. So that was Kyle
Shannon talking about Jimmy Garoppolo. Here's let me just throw
this at you. Jimmy Garoppoloy has been totally totally under

(58:06):
an underappreciated by the San Francisco forty Niners and by
people who cover the forty Niners or I don't want
to see people who cover the forty Niners, but I
want to say people who cover the NFL or watch
the NFL in general. I don't think Jimmy Garoppolo is
a top ten quarterback or a top five quarterback. I
don't put him in that class. But he's been one

(58:29):
of these guys for whatever reason, and there's been some speculation.
Well is it because um, you know, he's a good
looking guy, or because he's a patriot, whatever it is,
he's been one of these guys. And I've said this
before on the show, that never gets true appreciation for
what he's done. It just it never happens, and he

(58:51):
can't win either way. He goes to the forty Niners.
He gets there with with limited experience in the playbook
and finishes the season five and oh gets a massive contract.
Everybody criticized him for the contract. Well, he's not deserving,
he hasn't proven it. He's injury prone. Then he goes
on some date with a porn star. He's out with

(59:13):
a porn star, and people say, well, you know, that's
just terrible judgment by Garoppolo. What's he doing being seen
with a porn star. First of all, the only reason
you know it's a porn star is because somebody went
through your browsing history and saw that you had, uh,
some some things on there that maybe shouldn't had. Okay,
Jimmy Garoppolo dating a porn star, who gives a crap?

(59:35):
What do you want to do dat a garbage man?
You settle down, Jerry, you got your own issues to
worry through, right, And we know Jerry, we've heard, but like,
he gets criticized for that. Then he gets injured against
the Chiefs. He blows his knee out, gets injured, and

(59:59):
I remember people criticized him because they said, what is
he doing turning back in bounds in a blowout. San
Francisco is getting blown out, just run out of bounds
with the football. Why are you turning back and bounds?
God forbid? He tried to pick up a couple extra
yards and keep playing hard for his team and rips
his knee up, God forbid. He got criticized for that.

(01:00:21):
He got criticized for the throw in the Super Bowl.
All right, what about the other throws? What about the
fact that the forty Niner defense completely let him down?
What about like there's been just been so many examples. Well,
you know, but what about you know, the the NFC
Title game last year, the most healthy he's been as
a starting quarterback, the healthiest he ever was. They went

(01:00:41):
to a Super Bowl, the second healthiest they went to
an NFC title game, And if not for a dropped
interception thrown by Matt Stafford in that game, the Niners
are in another Super Bowl. His his time with San
fran has been a success. And what if the forty
Niners done most of the time time flirted with other quarterbacks,

(01:01:04):
whether it was Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers moving up
to draft tree lance the entire time. So when John
Lynch comes out earlier this week, and says we're gonna
we're gonna be very patient when it comes to trading
Jimmy Garoppolo. Well, you can't be that patient because if
he's on the roster week one, that's twenty six million dollars.

(01:01:27):
You're gonna have to release him. Nobody's trading for the guy.
And if you release him, he gets to pick where
he wants to go. And if you don't think Jimmy
Garoppolo has got a little bit of a red ass
about the way that organization has gone out and flirted
with other quarterbacks and tried to bring somebody in seemingly
every year, even after they go to a Super Bowl

(01:01:49):
with him, If you don't think he's not thinking about that,
that's not on top of mind when it comes to
his rehab. And he knows, as Kyle Shanahan says, what
the situation is. They can say they got a good
relationship with them all they want, but if he gets
cut and this Matt Stafford injury ends up being a

(01:02:10):
little bit worse than previously thought, and that's what a
lot of people expect. You don't think Jimmy Garoppolo would
think hard and long about wanting to go play for
the Rams. You don't think Jimmy Garoppolo wouldn't beat out
John Woolford, Gary Oldman's stunt double in l A with

(01:02:31):
the Rams. I just think that's something to watch. I
don't see him getting traded. I think he's gonna get
to pick and choose where he wants to go, and
that would be a fascinating twist on the Jimmy Garoppolo relationship.
And if he ends up with the Rams, and he
ends up, you know, maybe getting an opportunity to play

(01:02:51):
a couple of games, because I mean, I like, what
are the other options out there? Well, I could go
to Cleveland, Well he could, but I mean as Clevel
and really want to gonna want to shell out the
type of money that that's gonna bring Jimmy Garoppolo in
if I mean, we don't know what's gonna happen with
Deshaun Watson. We don't. Maybe they're committed to Jacoby Brissett.
Maybe that's gonna be there, guy who's been in camp
the entire time. But I just wonder if Garoppolo looks

(01:03:15):
at this and says, I'm just gonna wait, let them
talk for me. Everybody's saying, what a great relationship we
add all that is cool. If I get my chance
and I got a little bit of revenge on the table,
I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna take it. Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio get me on Twitter at the Jonas Knox.
Coming up next, we are going to hear from a
a Fox Sports Radio family member a little bit of

(01:03:36):
a surprise appearance on the show. That's yours coming up
momentarily for all the latest from around the world of sports.
It's sur rivesa long and before I do, would you
mind thank you? Would you mind clarifying something for me? Sure?
Earlier I heard you use the name Barf Grills. Who
who is that a derisive nickname you have for Bear Rills?

(01:04:00):
Or is that a separate person? Um? I mean is that? Uh?
Is that what his name is? Sam? His name is
Barf Grills, right, barf bear whatever you want? Bear bar
Actually his real name is Edward believe it or not? Okay,
well whatever, So, oh, I don't know. I just I
thought that's what the guy's name was. Yeah, that guy?

(01:04:25):
Was he in your acting class too? No? No, I
need to act on anything. He's real. Yeah, Sam's a
big fan of Bruce Skills, loves him Fish Skills. By
the way, this is a true story. Do you know
what I learned about Bear Grills just the other day?
He thinks that vegetables are bad for you. That's fake news, Isaaca, No, no, no,

(01:04:48):
I mean this is he. He was doing an interview
with g Hugh and he thinks that vegetables are bad
for you. He says, the more research I've done, I've
noticed rab vegetables are really not good for you. Okay,
I mean, why are you saying this, Isaac? You're you're
disrupting my image of bear Grills. Am I Really? He's

(01:05:09):
not capable of something so stupid. Who who cares about
Bear Grills? Who cares? Okay? That's why? Why is it?
You could have literally just gone on the air and
rip Kirk Ferns and you wouldn't have gotten as much
pushback as you just did. Iak I didn't. I didn't
know that he was such a loyal advocate of bar

(01:05:30):
for whatever. I'm a huge I am a huge Bear
Grills fan, and his his vegetable stance is not not cool. Well,
you're gonna have to take that up with Bear or
Edward is not me by the way I do. I'm
a big fan of vegetables as well too. I have
to have at least a green vegetable every day, at
least one a day. You can. That explains why your

(01:05:52):
skin glows every time I see you. Speaking of guys,
what about? What do you think of me today? How
do I look today? Uh? Well, maybe you know. I
don't want you to text me a pictures above the waist, Isaac, Please, fine, fine, fine, fine,
just have to get the binoculars. Speaking of people whose
skin glows. Tom Brady back at Tampa Bay Buccketeers practice

(01:06:14):
this morning after having to attend to a personal matter yesterday.
Mike Evans did not practice to day after tweaking his
hamstring in practice yesterday. Head coach Todd Boll said that
Evans is day to day. Hey, interesting development in the
world of golf now. Earlier this week, Phil Nicholson and
ten other golfers from the Live Tour filed an antitrust
lawsuit against the p G A Tour well now p

(01:06:34):
g A Tour. Golfer Davis Loved the Third has told
Front Office Sports the current p G A Tour players
would consider boycotting p g A events if golfers from
the live tour are allowed to play in them, he said, quote,
the players can just say no until somebody sorts this out.
We stand firm. I'm telling you there's current players who

(01:06:56):
feel this way. Live players can go do whatever they want,
but they can't play with us and hurt our business.
Unquote Davis Love the third saying that to front office sports,
you can't play with us. Not not are no we
I'm just I'm so tired of it. I'm so tired
of it, these tandstanding hypocrites in golf. I'm just so

(01:07:20):
fed up with it. Man. Oh, we don't like where
that money comes from. All right, well, let's do a
trace back where yours comes from. Let's tell mean, let's
go ahead, let's trace it back. Let's look at all
the sponsors, let's look at all the scandals. I just
it's it's a bunch of rich people arguing over who
can get more rich. Like and by the way, doesn't
the p g A allow golfers to compete in other tours,

(01:07:44):
like there's like an Asian tour and all this. But
but if it's a live tour, no, no, no, you
wonder why, because they're threatened. They feel threatened by it,
and so therefore they've got to go ahead and make
all these lines in the sand that you can't cross,
and all it's just all of it is a bunch
of crap. Sorry, Isaac, I don't mean to, uh you know,
air amount like that. Here. You're a big golf fan,
not why do you Why do you keep apologizing for

(01:08:06):
things you say on your own show? This is literally
the Jonas Knock Show. Golf, golf. You're not some warm up.
Stop apologizing golf. Hold on a second, whose voice cracked?
There was that Sam that you've tried to say golf? Sure?
Maybe it was et when he was feeling a little stronger. Yeah.
Do we have the side by side? All right? We

(01:08:26):
do have the side by side? All right? So so
you tell me, because I I actually thought this was
e t go ahead and play the side by side.
This was a Fox Sports radio alum here, uh saying
something and then play the actual et if you could. Steve.
Oh yeah, Isaac, that's uncanny. Yeah, I can't believe between

(01:08:52):
this and the Gary Oldman John Wolford bit, you're on
a roll today. See if see if Van Goes got
ears like that. Huh you know what I mean? How
dare you? How dare you? That's what I thought. I
thought it was et Oh my god, what the hell
is going on? All right? It is uh, Jonas knocks

(01:09:15):
here Fox Sports Radio. Get me, get me on Twitter,
at the Jonas Stocks at the Jonas Stocks on Twitter
and you can hang out with us. Is always on
the I Heart Radio app. So I speaking of Fox
Sports Radio alums. Apparently there was a little bit of
a medical issue. And now I don't want to give
out their medical information or personal medical information, but there
was a little bit of an issue. They were going

(01:09:36):
to make an appearance. Now apparently they're not going to
make an appearance, or maybe they will and they'll call
before the show is over. But we I received a
text and then I received a follow up text that
there was a problem. So if they give me the
the ability and the the freedom to explain what happened,
that I will explain that. If not, and just put

(01:09:57):
it this way, a loyal member of the Fox Sports
Radio family was going to make an appearance on this
show than a medical issue popped up. They need to
get that taken care of. So maybe they'll join us
before the end of the show, but most likely probably not,
And just because it would be a better story, I
hope that they don't because next week I will raid
them on the air. I will absolutely bury them on

(01:10:21):
the air. So if you if you're int this hearing
people get get tire ironed on the air, just hope
that they do not show up before this show is over,
because that's gonna happen next week. Jonas Knocks again Fox
Sports Radio. Get me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks.
Coming up next though, it is time for the scraps
things in the world of sports and beyond we have
not had a chance to get to it's yours here

(01:10:43):
on FS are Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can
hang out with us as always on the I Heart
Radio app. If you missed any of this show, you
can check out the podcast. It will be posted up
shortly after we go off the air at Fox Sports
Radio dot com. Also, I will tweet out a link
to that podcast at the Jonas Knocks at The Jonas

(01:11:04):
Knocks on Twitter. Uh. Speaking of which, there is some
positive feedback here on the show. I know you're thinking
to yourselves, Well, I mean come on, why is everybody
being so nice today? I don't worry about it. Tony
has chimed in. Tony writes end quote. You failed effing
overnight hack that wishes you were Rome DP or Coward instead.

(01:11:25):
Your bleep ass is a more broke, fugly and useless
Mark Davis a big bleep off you, f boyd. And
then he's got a picture of Mark Davis eating wings
at the Hall of Fame game Wow, which is creepy

(01:11:45):
in itself. Mark Davis can't catch a break, dude. He's
just trying to eat some wings. And that's the process.
See that is That's another issue with bony and wings.
When you eat bone in wings, you always look uncomfortable.
There's no comfortable way to eat bone in wings. Right.

(01:12:10):
If you go to a sports bar later you go
to a restaurant, you see somebody eating bone in wings.
Tell me, does that look like a natural thing? It doesn't.
That's one of the benefits to boneless wings. You could
use I mean, you could use a toothpick. You could
be rain Man and a diner and use a toothpick
to eat your boneless wings. You could use a fork.
You could pop him in your mouth. It's a really

(01:12:31):
natural thing. Eat bone in wings. You look a little weird.
You can eat this. I mean Mark Davis, you know,
I mean he looked like Dahmer like I just like,
I mean, what do you wanted to do? The guys
trying to get a snack, and then they show they
put the camera on him in a Hall of Fame
game and you know it's it's an uncomfortable watch. You

(01:12:51):
don't know if you know, pull that out of a
freezer or if he actually ordered that fresh. It's weird?
All right? Again, get me on Twitter at the Jonas now. Also,
another edition of up on Game is coming up a
little over ten minutes from now at LaVar. Why did
they get a round of applause? I wait, I don't
get a damn thing. I don't get a damn thing,
But they get a round of come. I gave you

(01:13:13):
a round of applaus twice. Let me tell you exactly
what that is. Iowa, Sam's a kiss ass. And because
he's got a bunch of pro bowlers doing the show
after this and all, he's got some slappy he does
overnights and was the rabbit chuck e cheese. He dismisses
me like that. I gave you a round of applause
at the start of each of your hours today. Yeah,
you're a kiss ass. All right. Uh, it is time

(01:13:34):
for something we do on the show every single weekend.
It's called this Jonas, How could you not get to?
These stories are the scraps? And for that we turn
it over to the great Ryan Burshing or to find
out what the hell we've missed so far? Version I
get a clause. Yeah, of course everybody does, scept for me.

(01:13:55):
I went to a Pro Bowl as well. Really, no,
I have best. Uh. So let's let's take a look
here at the Arizona Cardinals. Obviously, Kyler Murray's got his
new contract and Cliff Kingsbury is a doubling down on
on working with his quarterback. This past week, UH, Cliff
has allowed Kyler Murray to uh to call some plays

(01:14:18):
to with the backups in practice. UM because apparently throughout
the season last year, UH Kingsbury complained that that Murray
would occasionally shake his head when the coach calls plays
and that didn't sit particularly well. So Kingsbury sought to
show Murray that it isn't quite as simple as it seems.
Here as Cliffs Kingsbury from practice earlier this week. Yes,

(01:14:38):
that hey easy, you know, like every now and then
he started shaking his head when I'm calling it in there,
I'm like, all right, well, go ahead and big dog.
He did a good job. It's just I would not
want to play for Kyler Murray if I was a quarterback.
He was a coach. By the way, I like how
people have turned this into, oh my god, another issue
between Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals. Here's what I know.

(01:15:02):
He's already signed the contract. Okay, the contracts already signed,
all right, the study clause, all of that. Like, you're
stuck with him for at least a couple of years.
So whatever whatever the relationship is, and however they think,
oh you know, it's the demise of the relationship between
Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. It's really uncomfortable for everybody involved.

(01:15:22):
Uncomfortable or not. He already signed the contract, so he's
gonna be there, make the best of it. He's he's
a real a talented guy. He's already done some good
things in this league. They've improved every single year that
he's been the quarterback and Cliff Kingsbury has been the coach,
and you're looking at a division where we have no
idea what Trey Lance is gonna be. We have no clue.

(01:15:44):
You've got the the situation with the Rams and Matt
Stafford's elbow that's a little bit banged up. And then
you've got Geno Smith, who's probably gonna be the starter
in Seattle. It's not crazy to think that Arizona's got
the best quarterback situation in the division. And if you've
got that, more likely than not you're gonna end up
winning that division. So you just move on. Everything is

(01:16:05):
gonna be all right next So earlier this week, the
World Athletics U twenty Championships were held in Cali, Columbia.
Alberto no Nino. By the way, By the way, have
you ever seen Narcos? I haven't, Actually you have never
seen Narcos. I defy anybody to watch Narcos. Here the entrance,

(01:16:30):
like the theme music of Narcos and not want to
have a drink. There's something about it where it just
it gets into your veins and you go, oh, I
want to get annihilated right now. There's just it's festive,
it's fun. It's got it's got some pizzazz to it.
But when I when you said Callie, uh, callie cartel
is a feature of the drug cartel uh in narcos.

(01:16:52):
So that's why I bring that up. So what back
to the story, Sorry to disrupt, um Alberto no Nino
was one of the decathletes competing. I think that's the
restaurant's hands going to later. And so during the race
portion of the decathlon, Nanina was running in the second

(01:17:14):
heat and he was in the middle lane. Uh, he
was passing some of his competitors until he started to
grab at his shorts and the reason was because um,
his his uh, his member was falling out his man hammer.
That what you're saying. Correct, Yes, there's the hammer throw

(01:17:37):
as one of the field events, but it was not
this one. This was um so rather than you know,
keep running and just you know, lend it fly, he
did start to slow down in order to, uh, to
better protect himself. Nanino ended up finishing last in the
heat and finish five overall. Uh So afterwards, no Nino

(01:18:01):
addressed the matter on his Instagram story, saying, quote, I
just want to talk to you a little bit about
the rumpus there's been on blogs and social media in general.
I'm conscious it was obviously an accident, and I'd like
to tell you I'm aware of the reaction, and you
don't need to send me the links to the blogs
out there. I'm trying to laugh about it now, but
immediately afterward I felt terrible, and I'm thankful to my

(01:18:24):
friends and family for helping me get over what happened
a few hours later. Okay, here's the problem with this
whole day. First of all, if anybody's ever seen Chris
Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs when he was running
the forty at the combine, um, I mean he had
the same issue. And NFL Network was, you know, obviously
filming live when it happened. I mean it looked like

(01:18:45):
a duffel bag full of sumo wrestlers fell out on
the tour. On the tour if it was just uncomfortable
for everybody involved, nobody knew what to do. I could
you imagine like this guy happen to tell this story
to somebody down the road, like, hey, so what happened
when you went to compete, because I mean we thought
you had a chance at winning and he's got to
tell everybody I finished dead last, and when they asked
him why, he can't say, well, you know it was

(01:19:07):
I didn't take p d S right, had an injury.
It's because his belt bat was falling out of his
shorts and that's why he ended up finishing last. That's
an awful thing, son of a bit.
