Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have from beginning, Jonas Knocks, you thought you knew me.
You didn't know anything about me.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
He's crazier than a else.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Wrecked that guy, Jonas Knocks, you heard me.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
The Prince of Darkness is lighting up your speakers to
establish an alibi for the day. From the tirag dot
com Fox Sports Radio Studios, here's Jonas Knox.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yep, Okay, I'll be part of this world. You know,
it might be pretty unpopular in the NFL, but if
(00:52):
you read the fine print, it kind of makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
So if you just heard Nick Cope during the update
there at the top of the hour, there was a
contract that was redone in the NFL. That contract was
for Tyreek Kill of the Miami Dolphins. According to Adam
Schefter that the Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement on
a restructured deal with Hill worth ninety million dollars over
(01:55):
the next three years and include sixty five million dollars guaranteed,
and it brings the four year total of fully guaranteed
money to one hundred and six point five million dollars,
the most ever for any wide receiver. New years were
added or anything like that, but he's got the most
guaranteed money for a wide receiver ever. Now, if you
(02:18):
want to like climb through the details of all that
and whatnot, that's fine. I've said it before. Nobody does
a better job of that than Brady Quinn. I don't
even try and shop down that aisle because none of
it makes any sense to me. But the point is
Tyreek Hill got paid, and he deserved to get paid.
And the timing of it is kind of interesting because
(02:39):
a lot of people are kind of upset about something
that Tyreek Hill is involved in. I mean, he didn't
do anything wrong, but apparently Tyreek Hill is, uh, you know,
catching some flack, catching some heat because the NFL network
does this top one hundred list that comes out, you know,
they do it every single year. About this time, as
(03:01):
we approached the regular season, getting ready for all the
preseason games to start, and Tyreek Kill was voted number.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
One, and people are outraged.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Because he was voted ahead of Patrick Mahomes, and ahead
of Patrick Mahomes was Christian McCaffrey, Lamar Jackson and then
Tyreek Kill at one. And so you look at that
just on the surface and you go, well, that's ridiculous.
(03:37):
Who thinks that anybody would take Tyreek, Lamar or Seemac
over Patrick Mahomes right now? And I would agree with you.
If you're starting an NFL team, you're taking Patrick Mahomes
and it ain't close. But that's why you got to
read the fine print. That's why you get to read
(03:57):
to find oh, this is from ether players around the league,
and it's based off last season, not in totality, and
there are qualifiers, like, you know, there's one in which
if a player retires, he's no longer in contention for
this because if you kind of added that in, you know,
(04:17):
maybe Aaron Donald would be ahead of a guy like
a Max Crosby or somebody else like that. But Aaron
Donald retired, Okay, Like if you factored in some of
these other possibilities out there, then you would have different
qualifiers that.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Would come into the discussion.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
But when you see that Patrick Mahomes is four and
there's these other guys in front.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Of him, Like, let's just be honest.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Christian McCaffrey had a better year than Patrick Mahomes did
last year.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
He did.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Lamar Jackson had a better year than Patrick Mahomes did
last year he did, And you know what, so did
Tyreek Hill. Tyreek Kill missed a game and still caught
for eighteen hundred yards. Like I'm not disagreeing with the
(05:10):
fact that Patrick Mahomes is the best player in the league.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
I'm not.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Like, when it's all said done, he might be the
best player in history. But if you're just looking at
last year, it's like the MVP discussion, Like Lamar Jackson
accepting the MVP Award when he lost in the AFC
title kind of awkward, like, oh, but then you realize, oh,
you got to read the fine print. I mean, if
(05:40):
you don't believe me that last year was a little
bit of a down year for Mahomes. And by the way,
by down year, I mean worst year of his career.
Not that it was a bad year, but for him,
worst year of his career, more picks by a mile
than any.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Point in his career was last year.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
But if you listen to Mahomes himself, this was just
a couple of weeks ago. Even though they won the
whole thing.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
It's not like last year was all roses for everybody
there in KC.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
I mean, obviously the end result was awesome, but I
mean I think a lot of us still have a
weird feeling in our mouth because, I mean, we really
didn't play the football the way we wanted to play
all year long, and it wasn't fun. I mean, all
the every single week having to try to just continue
to get better and better and results not paying off
the way you wanted to.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
It wasn't a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
We have a lot of those same guys back.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
I mean he said it himself, like yeah, I mean
they're just you know, it wasn't all that much fun.
I mean it was dicey there for a while. There's
a reason why they had to go on the road
for the first time ever. Like, there's a reason why
that happened. Like, it's not like we're talking about a
(06:47):
team that was just dominant all last year. You know
who that team was that was dominant all last year, Baltimore.
Why do you think Lamar Jackson was ranked ahead of him?
But again, you have to read the fine print, and
so people you can get outraged about it all they want,
the reality is it was a down year for him.
It was it's a great year for everybody else, but
(07:10):
it was a down year for Patrick Mahomes and those
guys had better seasons. Not a problem, not a big deal,
don't worry for you geeks out there. He got a
ninety nine on Madden whatever that means. But it's like
getting your horoscope. I've always said this, the best part
about a horoscope is right down at the bottom. Now,
(07:31):
whatever bracket you fall in, or the signs, whether it's
Sagatorus or cancer or Gemini or Leonidas or whatever the
crap they are. But right down there at the very bottom.
If you read a horoscope, you know what it says
for entertainment purposes. Only you gotta read the fine print.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
It helps.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
It's like when somebody tells you, hey, if you order
this pay per view fight, you'll get an eighteen I
remember this back of the day. I ordered some fight
and they're like, you're gonna get an eighteen pack of
Takati beer for free.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And I was like, oh, this is sweet.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
We're gonna get to watch the boxing and we're getting
an eighteen of Takati for free.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
And then you read the fine print and you go.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
If you cut out the coupon on the back, staple
it to the receipt, show proof of the credit card purchase,
take a picture, put it in an envelope, lick a stamp,
send it out for four dollars, and then within sixty
days you should get your rebate. It's like, oh, okay,
now it makes sense, dude, read the fine print. Once
you do, and you look back to last year, now
(08:33):
it makes sense. Jonas NOx here Fox Sports Radio. I
listen occasionally. We like to blame people here, all right,
We like to blame people for certain things, all right now.
Sometimes it's really fun. Other times I'd rather just be accountable.
It just saves more time. What the point is, well,
I'll tell you who goofed. I used to love.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
The u U men's Olympic team in basketball. I used
to love it.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
I mean, the dream team, just like everything that came
along with it. I remember, like all the apparel that
was being sold, like you like if you've bought like
a box of cereal, like I think seven to eleven
had special cups where there was like a different guy
on the front of a.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Cup like back. It was awesome. The dream team was awesome.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
And listen, they continue to be great and continue to
win gold medals, and then they took a little bit
of a dip, but then they've come back. And so
I'm watching them earlier today and they're dominant over Puerto
Rico and I'm seeing them, I'm going, Hm, why am
I not into this? Like what is what has done
(09:43):
it for me to where I'm just not into this?
And then I realized, oh, it's because they turned the
Olympics into the NBA. That's why I'm not into it anymore.
And you hear that and you say, well, of course
they did. It's NBA players. The problem is what NBA
(10:05):
players brought with them, and it's not their fault. What
NBA players brought with them to the Olympics this year
is they brought NBA coverage to the Olympics. That's the issue.
I don't remember there being a time where we were
(10:28):
having a discussion about a coach's decision to have somebody
on the bench when you can only play a certain
number of people per game in the Olympics. I don't
remember that conversation. I remember a little bit of the
discussion about, well, why was Christian Laytner chosen over Shaq whatever,
But it wasn't really that.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Big of a deal.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Like, I mean, you know, we're splitting hairs here. Christian
Layner is like might be like the greatest college player
of all time. Shaq was a much better player in
the NBA, obviously, but Latner was pretty good too in college,
and they wanted to try and you know, add a
couple of differ from pieces to it.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Whatever. Not a big deal.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
But like the fact that we were in the weeds
over Jason Tatum's playing time over Jalen Brown not being
on the roster, over Kawhi Leonard being sent home and
why was he really sent home, joelln Bead's performance and
whether he should have been on the team, all all
(11:24):
of this crap, this drama that came along with the
men's Olympic basketball team that they didn't do. They're not
sparking this up or turning this into an issue. Jason
Tatum even said, like no, man got this wasn't a
problem for me. I didn't think anything of it. It
was just we're playing. They didn't care, wasn't an issue.
(11:47):
There was no problem. They struggled against South Sudan. What
are you bitching about? If you bet on South Sudan,
you're happy.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Who cares?
Speaker 3 (11:59):
But like, no, none of those guys there were taken
by any of the discussions. Steve Kerr all that it
was everybody on the outside and it's so typical NBA coverage.
And Draymond Green has called this out before where he said, man,
like the media and the coverage of the NBA, they
(12:20):
try and dramatize everything. They try and turn it into
him against him, teammate against teammate. This and that I
even saw a conspiracy theory that came out that Steve
Kerr and members of that coaching staff are trying to
create a divide within the Boston Celtics because they realize
(12:41):
how stacked Boston is and how young they are and
the future they've got, so to create a divide amongst
that team. That's why they tried to not play Jason
Tatum to cause a little bit of an issue. Play
Derek White drew holiday and quality minutes, but not Tatum.
(13:03):
Not bring in Jalen Brown like that was there. That
was one of the conspiracies I saw out there. Hey,
numb nuts, what do you think would ruin their chances more?
Not playing Jason Tatum or playing Jason Tatum and running
the risk of injury.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Doesn't make tents. None of it makes sense.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
But that's the problem. The Olympics have become nbad. They've
nba'd the Olympics. Dude, who cares about all that crap.
They're trying to win a gold medal for the country.
They don't care. None of those guys have an issue
with it. It's everybody on the outside, like, you can't
(13:45):
just enjoy this seeing all these guys playing together to
once in a lifetime experience for all of those dudes.
Like to be able to win a gold medal, that's awesome.
Kevin Durant's gonna be the all time Olympics score for
the US. It's awesome. But instead, ooh, why was so
and so sent home? Somebody got dissed on playing time?
(14:05):
Is this gonna cause a fracture in the locker room
when they get back to the season, Dude, stop like
you can get in the bubble and get in the
echo chamber of NBA's king and look at all the storylines.
This is exactly why they faltered in ratings, why people
are less interested in them, because you turn to drama.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
When you don't need to turn to drama.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
These are the best players on planet Earth, period and
they're about to win a gold medal for the country,
and all anybody wants to do is bring in drama
and garbage from the regular season to try and lead
into next year.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Enough.
Speaker 3 (14:44):

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Coming up here in about ten minutes from now from
the tire Rack dot com studios. I'm gonna say something
that is not going to help our cause, all right,
not mine and definitely not yours. When it comes to
the NFL. We will get into that for you again
at ten minutes from now here on FSR. So there's
(16:31):
there's the latest, right, the latest situation with the Dak
Prescott contract.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Right, this is the very latest.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
We've got an escape patch issue that according to Mike
Florio Pro Football Talk that one of these sticking points
that they have heard on the new deal between Dak
Prescott and the Cowboys is this escape patch And what
that means is how long they're tied to Dakscott.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
You know some.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Players, you know, you only have a year really that
you're tied to that player, you know, whether it be
a Derek Carr or somebody else like that. You know,
maybe a Geno Smith. Other players you'll get they're connected
and tied together for a longer amount of time, like
Tua or somebody. But the point is like what are
their outs, like when can they get out of this?
And Dak Prescott looks at it and says, Okay, if
(17:24):
I'm gonna sign here, I want to know that this
is going to be a long term thing like, so
that's where they're at here, and so you know, you
just kind of wait and see and wait and see
and wait and see. And then Dak Prescott spoke, you know,
earlier this week, and you know, he's sitting sitting at
(17:45):
training camp there in Oxnard and he's just kind of,
you know, discussing the situation with Jeff Cobb of Fox
four in Dallas, and uh, you know, they was asked like, hey, hey,
when you said last week and you talked about the
potential of you maybe playing for another franchise, what was
(18:10):
your mindset when you said that.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Let's take a.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Listen, just an off season of having a kid, your
perspective changes a little bit of life that sometimes you
have to look forward and having that downtime and in
the off season, as I said, it wasn't about necessarily
obviously when I was training, my focus was there, but
just and raising a newborn, creating a family. You have
(18:34):
to think about the future at times. And as I said,
I looked up and as I said, all great quarterbacks
and it's honestly a lot of quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
That have done that.
Speaker 6 (18:40):
And that's just the business and the nature of this game.
And that's me not being naive to that and to
those potentials, and as I said in that press conference,
and not something that I look for or prepare even
planned for. But if something like that happens, I'll be
most certainly ready for it, just because that's who I am,
and that's where my focus will remain and trying to
get bat and wherever I'm at.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
You know who that is. That's somebody who knows he's
got that organization. By the balls, he's got them right
where he wants him.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
Like I've said this before, he's got I mean, there's
zero for him to worry about, like not a care
in the world. I mean, first of all, he's got
more money than he's probably ever going to be able
to spend in his life. But on top of that,
he's got options. Like there are options for Dak Prescott.
(19:34):
He was second in MVP voting last year. Let's not
let's not paint this out to be well, you know,
run of the mill quarterback. Anybody could do that. Okay, fine,
try that one. Like he's got options here, He's got
way more options than they do at this point.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
He knows it and so do they.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
And so this little back and forth about escape hatches
and and all the other fun And on top of.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
That, he's got history on his side.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
Remember the last time they were in a heated negotiation
and they were like, Nahn, I wait to kick the
can down the road. Okay, I'll sign the franchise tag. Okay, yeah, fine,
sign that franchise tag. Come prove it to us. And
he said okay, and he went out there and snapped
his leg and guess what Dallas did.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Gave him the deal he wanted, and then some.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Out after four years, no franchise tag, more annual per year.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Blah blah blah blah blah, he won.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
So him talking about like, well, look, I mean just
I'm looking at this offseason. I realized, all right, I've
got a kid, I've got Yeah, there's gonna be some
changes potentially, But like, if you're Dak Prescott, what are
your think about.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
What the end result's going to be.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Either I'm going to get the money I want from Dallas,
and I'm gonna stay here with a great organization for
another few years and make millions upon millions of dollars,
probably in the range of fifty five I have to
sixty million dollars or I'm gonna hit the open market.
There's gonna be a ton of teams out there that
are gonna be looking for an established starting quarterback, and
(21:10):
I've got the resume and the credentials to be one
of those guys. He'll get way more than Kirk Cousins
would get if he gets out of this year healthy,
based on what he's done the production.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
He's gonna get paid.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
So when he's talking, you know, to Jeff Cobb, and
he's saying, look, I mean, I'm just being real about
the situation. You can always be more honest and more
free when you know you're good. Yah, I'm good, like whatever,
Like maybe you won't say the things that you want
(21:44):
to say or act the way you want to act
because you're really worried about losing. Like oh boy, Like
you're you're in a relationship and you gotta walk on
eggshells cause you don't want to do the wrong thing
or say the wrong thing. And then movie just get
to the point where you're like, you know, I realize
if this doesn't work out, I'll be fine no matter what.
So I'm just gonna be me. Yeah, I'm just gonna
(22:05):
I'm just gonna say what I want. I'm just gonna
call it as it is, And Dak Prescott's calling it
as it is because he knows.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
He's good.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Like there's there's a reason why he's not holding in.
You find that kind of interesting. Tua Tuga bay loa
held in Jordan, love held in Dak Prescott. No, I'll
be there, be there early. I'll be there every day.
Got a newborn, No, no worries. Yeah, I spoke to
Ceedee Lamb. Still out there, still practicing, still doing interviews too,
(22:37):
because he is good either way. That's not somebody who's conflicted.
That's somebody who knows exactly what's going on, and he
knows no matter what happens this year, he's gonna get paid.

Coming up next here though, Listen, there's something that like
is going on in the NFL and I'm a bad representative,
(23:52):
not only for me but also for you. I'll explain
why that is next here, but for all the latest
from around the world of sports.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
He's Nicko.
Speaker 7 (24:00):
All right, Johna's going to be with you and not
the only NFL news today, of course. He led the
show with the Dolphins and receiver Tyreek Hill reportedly restructuring
his contract to include one hundred and six and a
half million dollars in guaranteed money over the next four years.
That's the most guaranteed money ever pledged to a wide
receiver in the NFL. Also reports Day Cardinals linebacker Bjojulari
(24:23):
towards ACL in practice on Friday while going on at
the Paris Olympics, got a lot of medals to be
handed out, both on the track and in the pool,
will keep you apprized of those things that have happened already.
Today in Paris, Simone Biles won another gold medal, posting
the top score in the vault final. That's her seventh
Olympic gold. American Jade Carrie took home bronze. Biles will
(24:45):
have two more chances to add to our metal collection
on Monday, when she will compete in the balance beam
and floor exercise finals. Men's gymnast Steven Netasik, the guy
everyone is comparing to Clark Kent. He took home bronze
in the pommel horse final. USA Basketball Cruise pass Puerto
Rico one oh four to eighty three. Anthony Edwards led
with twenty six points. The Americans go perfect three to
(25:08):
zero in the group and they earn the top seed
in the quarterfinals, where they'll face Brazil on Tuesday. Women's
soccer beat Japan in the quarterfinals thanks to a Trinity
Rodman goal in extra time. Americans will face either Canada
or Germany in the semi finals on Tuesday. Women's tennis
golden medal match China's can win Jang beat Croatia's Donavek
(25:29):
men's water polo USA beat Montenegro. They booked a spot
in the quarterfinals. Shakri Richardson to go to the track.
She is one of three Americans to qualify for the
women's one hundred meter final that is coming up at
approximately twelve twenty pm Eastern And then Jonas, I'm not
sure if you got any shot put on. I know
you're usually watching stuff during the show. Have you seen
(25:50):
American Ryan Krauser?
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Have you seen this man? Is he throwing right now?
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Yes? Yeah, he's stalling right and I'm watching as we speak.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
It makes me dizzy. What do you just throw?
Speaker 3 (25:59):
Like twenty five meters thirty meters something like that. He's
at the top, he's leading the shop put event. There's
three Americans in the mix.
Speaker 7 (26:07):
But I read, I just read that this gentleman from
Oregon can squat seven hundred twenty five pounds.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Jesus, like say.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
You watch like some of these athletes and you go,
why are we both.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Considered the same species? You know what I mean? This
doesn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
Like now, like you see Victor Webbanyama and you go,
like like if if an alien came down to planet Earth,
and they put us next to Victor webanana and said, hey,
they're both human beings. They and be like, okay, if
you could step aside, we'd like to talk to the
guy who's the size of a building, Like we'd like
to talk to him, Like it doesn't have it doesn't
even make sense, man, like seven hundred and what twenty five?
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Seven to twenty five? Jesus.
Speaker 7 (26:51):
And honestly, there's some of the other Americans doing this
shot put event are they look a little bit bigger
than him, But but this is the guy who can
squat seven twenty five and he's leading the shop put
right now.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
By the way, does anybody really like not only is
that impressive, it's horrible for you, like like the amount
of stress it puts on your neck, your knags, your knees,
your hips, Like you're not there's a reason why, like
nobody warms up with that because it's not a natural
weight that guy's doing set up.
Speaker 7 (27:20):
How long does it take to warm up to hit
seven twenty fives?
Speaker 3 (27:23):
I can't even like I could do like I could
do like like I don't even like how much I
could squad like like I could do it for a
month straight and it wouldn't add up to seven twenty five.
Like that guy's doing it, doing sets just crazy. Well, listen,
he's different than us, So there he is a Thanks Nick.
It is Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. By
(27:44):
the way, we are gonna have another edition of Do
You Care coming up here in about ten minutes from
now from the tiraq dot com studios.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
All right, I'm just telling you this right now.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Okay, I'm a bad representative of myself and you and
it comes to the NFL. All right. So I don't
know if anybody saw this, but the the Sunday ticket
verdict was overturned, thrown out right now. Everybody was anticipating,
oh my god, this is good news.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Was violation and we were.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Gonna get some money back because they charged so much
for Sunday ticket and they were like doing the math, like,
you know, fifteen years of Sunday ticket, how much did
you pay? And there was like, oh, people are gonna
get you know, checks for forty five hundred dollars and
all that.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
It's like, oh sweet, and I'll take it. I mean,
who wouldn't you.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Know this lawsuit comes out the NFL is gonna have
to pay. The owners are like, oh my god, now
we're panicking. We better get an eighteenth game because that
we're gonna pay for this fourteen million billion or whatever
it is that we've got.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
To fork out.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
And everything's like, man, I got it, you know, antitrust
all the other things, and then it gets thrown out.
And I got to be honest with you, if we're
being totally truthful. Whatever the NFL and RECTV and Sunday
Ticket charged, whatever they were going to charge, I was
(29:05):
gonna pay for it anyways, like you know, And again
that's a bad representation. I'm hoping nobody from the defense
team for the NFL here's this. But I'm just letting
you know right now. I don't believe it was a
bad deal. I don't and I don't think we got
ripped off. I was gonna pay for it no matter
(29:26):
what it was. I was going to much like Dak
Prescott's got the Dallas Cowboys by the balls, the NFL
and Sunday Ticket had me by.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
The balls and they will continue to. I was gonna
pay for it.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
And it's not even just from a work standpoint. Look
for work, for what we do quote unquote work. We
have to have it.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
We've got to know what's going on.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
You know, the NFL season is king in sports radio
and sports TV, sports media. It's the king, right the
NFL's king, and so we've got to watch it a monitor.
We got to know what's going on with the games
all the other things that come along with it. It's
part of the reason why I'm in a fantasy football
league because like part.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Of that, like you learn a lot, and I think
everybody knows it.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Like you'll find out things about obscure players in the
NFL that you didn't even like, you just hadn't even
put into perspective, but you do because you play.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
There's little things like it.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
So anything that is more research, more knowledge, whatever, you
got to do it, especially for what we do for work.
So from a work standpoint, it makes sense. But just
from a personal standpoint, from an entertainment standpoint, try and
sit here and tell me you haven't gotten your money's
worth for a Sunday ticket. Try and tell me you
have it. If you say it, you're lying, You're not
(30:45):
being truthful. Now you don't have to say that because
you want to get your check for forty five hundred
dollars if it comes out, that's fine, I get it.
I'd love one too. If this means I'm not going
to get my check, no problem. I'll take forty five
hundred dollars out of my kids college.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
That's fine. It's just that easy.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Just move some stuff around, you know, Hey, I can't
afford that right now. Move some stuff around, no problem,
hey son, Yeah, still thinking about that college. Sure thing, Dad, cool,
Start mowing the neighbors lawn for a few months. Maybe
you get that extra forty five hundred back. Because I
you know, spoke too much on the Sunday ticket dish
(31:23):
situation in the NFL, Like.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
It is what it is.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Like you were gonna watch and pay for the Sunday
ticket regardless, and if you weren't, you were gonna go
to a bar that had Sunday ticket. From an entertainment standpoint,
bang for your buck. It's a great deal. I'm sorry, man.
Like people could try and get annoyed and push back
(31:48):
on that, it's it's a great deal.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Like I remember some guy came over.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
We were having some work done at our house, and
so this guy came over, and you know, he was like,
you know, working on the house and he'd recognized me
from you know, a show that I had done or whatever.
So we're just talking about you know, like NFL in
his life and all that. So we're just like, hey, what,
you know, what's.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Your off day?
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Goes, man, I love the NFL. He's all, Sunday is
my day. He goes, My wife lets me have Sunday.
He goes to where people will come over, We'll start
cooking early, and we literally watch football all day. We might,
you know, place a couple of bets whatever, but we're
watching football all day. We're playing fantasy football. And I
was like, oh, so you got the Sunday ticket. He goes,
(32:30):
Oh yeah, he goes. It's He's all, that's really my
social life. And I think that's what it is for
a lot of people. I think people look at Sunday
ticket and they look at the NFL and they go, hey, man, like,
that's the way I choose to spend it for X
amount of dollars. For a few months during the season
(32:51):
late in the year, when the weather's bad and he
can't go out anyways, I can sit at home and
watch games all day, all day, and if I don't
want to pay for it. I can go to a
bar and I can sit and have NFL prices on
a food menu, this and that. But I do have
the option. And so look, I know everybody wants the
(33:14):
forty five hundred dollars. I know it's expensive just on
the surface, but if you think about what you've gotten
from Sunday Ticket and what you've got, and I don't
care if your team sucks so you can't watch exclusively
your team.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
And pay for that. You've got to pay for everything, okay.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
And if you've got a bad football team, don't you
want to be enlightened by Hey, look at that they
can move the ball down the field and they're not
losing by thirty.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
It's it's interesting, what a world.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
If you actually have an honest thought to yourself, Hey,
have you gotten your money's worth with Sunday Ticket if
you've bought it all these years? The answer is yes.
So probably not the best representation. But when I see
that this Sunday Ticket Veric got overturned, and who knows,
they're gonna get caught up in the court and maybe they'll,
you know, come to some sort of a settlement whatever.
(34:04):
I look at it and I go, eh, I'm not
that pissed. Like you know, life could have been a
whole lot worse if I didn't have it. So that
being said, you know, if you guys want to cut
us a check still, we'd appreciate it. And if they
need this as evidence, if we could take it out
of the podcast, I'd appreciate that. Jonas Knox here, Fox
Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox on X at the
Jonas Knox Coming up.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Next here though, we are going to have a nether.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Edition of Do You Care right here on FSR Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio coming up top of next hour a
little over ten minutes from now from the tire rack
dot Com Studios. You know, apparently there's some people really
taking issue with a situation that took place in the
(34:47):
world of sports over the past twenty four hours, and
it just shows you that it never fails. It is
the easiest to go to in everything that we do,
and I'll explain why that is it up here a
little over ten minutes from now before we get to
another edition of Do You Care? Though, a reminder that
shortly after the show, the podcast will be going up,
so if you've missed any of today's show, be sure
(35:09):
to check out the pod search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you gets your podcast. Be sure to also follow, rate
and review the pod again. Search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcasts. You'll see this show posted right
after we get off the air.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time.
DMS your reports. Now let's get kinky. Here's some of
the big stories from the last week. But Jonas, the
real question is do you care?
Speaker 3 (35:37):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Bo Benson to find out what the hell people have
been talking about all week.
Speaker 8 (35:43):
Bo vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson. He told a porters
that he's so scared about being injured again or reinjuring
I believe his hamstring. That he's being overly cautious throughout
training camp in the preseason. The team seems to be
okay with it as well. So Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (35:59):
I do. I love it here. I was thinking about
this earlier. I think there's a really good chance that
Minnesota is one of the worst teams in the league,
because if you think about it like this, the quarterback
who was the most stable part of the organization for
the past several years. You decided to move on from
(36:22):
and you've now turned the keys over to Sam Darnold
and a rookie and JJ McCarthy, and we don't know
how that's going to go. We have no idea. You
also lost a hunter on the defensive front, who's one
of their better defensive players. You've paid Justin Jefferson a
ton of money, yet he's still got, you know, got
(36:43):
some concerns about whatever the injury was. You know, Jordan
Addison apparently you know, why get a hotel room if
you've been drinking. You can just you know, just choose
your local freeway and just you know, sit in the
car and wait till somebody gets you out of there.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
Like just the whole thing. I look at Minnesota and
I go, that's a lot of turnover.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
And you look at the odds to win that division,
they're by far and away the worst. So I'm wondering,
based on everything that we've seen, their decision to move
on from Kirk Cousins, all of that and the other
things that are factored into it, if we're not looking
at one of the worst teams in the league this
upcoming season next.
Speaker 8 (37:22):
Yeah, I might, I might blow this up here. But
Jordan Addison especially is just disappointing to have that speeding
incident last year, and then you know the drunk driving
thing this year, posts a picture of a mimosa the
following morning. And then also, you know, a week before
that or two weeks before that, you have your teammate
pass away in a drunk driving accident.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
So that's yeah, you don't you know that? What's that?
That that that King's Motel right up the road from
the studio. That's the Stuff's expensive. Man, What do you
want to do? You know, you got to find a.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Place to sleep.
Speaker 8 (37:53):
Unbelievable. Getting San Francisco San Francisco Giants starter Blake Snell
through a hitter last night against the Reds Jonas.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
Do you care? Yes, I do, And let me tell
you I love it.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Because I'm not sure I don't take any joy in this,
all right. Ben Mallor cannot stand Blake Snell. I does
not like him. The subject was thrown in his face
when I was filling in on the blowtorch am five
to seventy LA Sports with Ben Mallor this week, and
(38:29):
David Vasse, our Dodgers reporter, told just was getting into
it back and forth with Ben Maller because he's he's
friends with Blake Snell, and Ben was just so disgusted
by it. The Dodgers are melting down. Blake Snell's name
got brought up. Ben's point was, I don't want anything
to do with that guy. He doesn't go past five innings,
and his very next start he throws a no hitter,
(38:49):
Like like, I'm not I'm not trying to take joy
in anybody else's misery. But when I saw that he
threw a no hitter, the first person I thought it
was Ben Mallard. Come on drugs right now? Man.
Speaker 8 (39:03):
New York Giants owner John Lamarraw told reporters that he's
still totally fine with the contract that was given to
quarterback Daniel Jones last offseason. So Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 3 (39:11):
I mean, this is rare for the third time, Yeah,
I do, And let me tell you why, because well, one,
what else is he supposed to say?
Speaker 1 (39:19):
But two, like, dude, you.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Kind of your organization got clowned on this HBO hard
knocks off season, Like there's got to be some sort.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Of a unity, like like, you know, your your.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
Head coach is basically saying, yeah, I would have taken
this quarterback if we had an opportunity. Let's move up
to take that quarterback, and you're still on the hook
for X amount of dollars with the guy that's still there.
So he had to come out and say something. I
just wonder what that sort of drama is going to
play out during the season if.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
He starts a falter early next.
Speaker 8 (39:50):
The Kansas man who pled guilty to stealing a Jackie
Robinson statue from a which tah Youth Baseball league earlier
this year was sentenced to fifteen years in prison and
for his crime. So, Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Not really really, It's just so ridiculous and so foolish
that I can't even really totally comprehend it. Like I
don't like I've never won time in my thought in
my life walked through a park that's got like a
big statue and been like I want to steal that.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
I'd like never once, Like like I've never walked.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
Through a grocery store and been like, man, I'd really
love to steal a pack of trident, Like I've never
done it this guy, I want to know what he's
stolen before in his life to where that didn't scratch
the itch. So he's like, you know what, enough with
this memorabilia crap. I'm taking the entire statue with me.
I just want to talk to the guy. You know,
(40:45):
it's a time honor tradition in sports media. It never fails,
and it accomplished its goal yet again.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
You all took the bait. We'll get into that for you.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
Again coming up here and just a couple of moments
from now gionas Knox Fox Sports Radio.

Tire rack dot Com The Way tire buying should be.
So I did want to mention this. They are doing
the Hall of Fame inductions now in the NFL, and
they showed the video of Steve McMichael getting his Hall
of Fame bust and getting his gold jacket. He's for
those of you that aren't familiar, but I'm sure you are.
(41:51):
He's been battling als. And so some former teammates went
to his house to present him. Obviously he couldn't be
president in Canton, Ohio. They went to his bedside and
they brought him his Hall of Fame bus. They brought
him the gold jacket. Richard denfellow Hall of Famer, was there,
(42:12):
Jimbo Kovert a teammate, a Hall of Famer, Mike Singletary.
Speaker 1 (42:15):
And so he goes into the Hall of.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Fame and it is a be warned, tough video to
watch because you see a guy who's a Hall of
Fame type player. First of all, the fact that Steve
McMichael had to wait to get into the Hall of
Fame as long as he did is ridiculous. The guy
had almost one hundred sacks as a defensive tackle, like like, well,
(42:41):
you know what, Okay, he went He wasn't all pro
twice like he's Also if you're into like stories, if
it's about you know, can you tell the story of
the NFL and that he was a key member of
one of the greatest teams in the history.
Speaker 1 (42:58):
Of the league and he had to wait as long
as he did.
Speaker 3 (43:01):
I mean I didn't, I didn't understand it. It never
made any sense. But he's finally getting his due. But
when you see him being presented, you know, his jacket
and whatnot from the Hall of Fame, you know that
his body has failed him. The body that got him
to the Hall of Fame during his playing career and
even after his playing career, like decided, okay, you know
(43:24):
what I want to do professional wrestling and was great
and not even just like a wrestler, was a commentator,
like one of the true characters of the NFL, and
finally got his just due.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
But when you watch the video.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
You know that mentally he's there and knows what's going on,
but his body has failed him.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
It's a tough watch, but it was really.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
Special to see his family and friends and former teammates
be able to deliver and give him that honor for
somebody who deserved it as much as he did. Jonas
Knox here on Fox Sports Radio, Now, I did won
to get into this discussion for you. So there's some
outrage that has taken place over the last forty eight hours, right,
some people that are really really bothered by a decision
(44:09):
made in the NFL, not by the NFL, but by
NFL players. They had the audacity to vote Tyreek Hill
as number one in their.
Speaker 1 (44:22):
Top one hundred list.
Speaker 3 (44:23):
This is this list they come out with this time
of year, and they've got Tyreek Hill sitting at one one.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
They've got Lamar.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
Jackson sitting there behind him, They've got Christian McCaffrey, and
then they've got Patrick Mahomes. And people are really outraged
about the fact that Patrick Mahomes is sitting forth. And
as I said last hour, look you got to read
the fine print. It's based on last year. It's voted
on by the players, and if you were basing it
(44:51):
on last year, Mahomes statistically had the worst season of
his career, and it was up and down.
Speaker 1 (44:56):
He said as much. A couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
He said, yeah, listen, I mean you know, like, yeah,
we won a Super Bowl. It ended right but during
the year, there was a lot of issues. I mean,
losing to the Raiders on Christmas, Travis Kelsey having meltdowns
the whole like, like, there was a lot of problems,
drop passes, everything else. Guys were frustrated. Guys were getting pissed,
(45:18):
like you know, Kelsey and Andy Reid going out on
the sideline even in the Super Bowl when things are
going well. Andy Reid just got his hip or place
and Travis Kelsey's playing bumper cars with him, Like, dude, Like,
it's not like it was a smooth year. That's why
it made the point a couple of weeks ago. Like,
so you're telling me, even them inside the locker room
said last year was not fun.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
We had a lot of issues and they still won.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
Like that's a dropped ball by people in the NFL,
most notably the Ravens, the Dolphins and the Niners who
could have done something about it in the postseason and didn't.
And the Bills could have done something about it and
they didn't. So like, if that was you know, them
at their worst having to finally go on the road
(46:05):
and nobody was able to take advantage of it, what
does that say about the future So look, I'm with
you if I'm starting a team. Patrick Mahomes is my
guy that wasn't the criteria. The criteria was best player
in the league last year. And you know, had Tyreek
Hill played all seventeen games, guy might have put up
(46:25):
two thousand yards receiving. It's wild like he had an
incredible year. And so Tyreek Hill got, you know, his
contract redone. He's not got the most guaranteed dollars, like,
no extra years added on to it, but they restructured it.
You figured something was going to come with all the
other wide receiver deals happening, and so Tyreek Hill's getting
the most guaranteed money of any wide receiver in league history. So, like,
(46:47):
you know, you see the list and it comes out,
But what it tells me is that sometimes the things.
Speaker 1 (46:53):
That work always work. They just do.
Speaker 3 (47:00):
You know how many times have you heard somebody say,
why do you think Vegas has all those expensive fountains up?
Why do you think Vegas has all the nicest restaurants
and all the nicer Who do you think pays for that?
It's like we all know that, yet what do we
all do? We go there and we give them our
money it's like we're giving them our money and we're
(47:22):
walking away with something. Every single time we're giving them
our money by sitting at a slot machine, or sitting
at a blackjack table, or sitting at some bar where
people somebody next to you's got a lung dart in
and they're on a ventilator and they're playing like you know,
uh uh you know Texas hold them on the countertop there,
(47:44):
or they're playing you know, three card poker on a countertip.
It's like, dude, like we all know that, Yet what
do we always do? We always go to Vegas, play
the slots, play blackjack, give them our money, go to
the sports book, and like we know what's happening and
we're okay with it. We just kind of accept it
(48:08):
and it's fine. You know, what's the Las Vegas of
sports media.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Lists.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
If you can put together a top five or a
top ten, or a top twenty, whatever your list is,
you're good because you're always gonna find somebody that takes
the bait always. Like we mentioned Ben Mahller in the
unfortunate situation of Blake Snell throwing a no hitter after
(48:39):
he called him out for not being able to go
along in games. But Ben has always called this out
and he's one hundred percent correct. You know what the
holidays are in sports radio list radio where people start
coming out with their list top five Christmas movies.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
It's diehardic.
Speaker 3 (48:55):
It's the easiest, go to, laziest thing. It's the Mount
Rushmore like it's it's Mount Rushmore's. Mount Rushmore is kind
of lazy because you don't actually have to stack anything.
You just got to throw four people on there, and
whatever the combination is is the combination, like whatever they
(49:17):
wanted to put, Like you know who embraced this, the
College Football Playoff Committee. This is always my favorite thing
that they do. They would at some point during the
season kind of mess with the order of the top
four a little bit, you know, like they would they
would put a team that, you know, nobody would think
is the best team in college football. Nobody would think
(49:38):
this team is here, but they would put them at
like number one, or they'd put them at two when
maybe they should have been three or four. And they
would do that and people would just get outraged, my god,
how could you do that? And it was like, well,
it's kind of a free role for them because they
realized that team is going to play the team they
have ranked fourth, and it's all going to sort itself
out anyways. But if you can add a little something
(49:59):
to kind of to the drama and lead into everything,
of course you're gonna do it.
Speaker 1 (50:04):
Like this never fails.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
They're always going to come up with a list, or
they're always going to come up with some top five
or top ten or top twenty or top one hundred,
and somebody's always going to have an issue with it.
Speaker 1 (50:18):
That's why it always works like you could, you could
put it.
Speaker 3 (50:24):
Together to like I'm telling you this right now, I've
already you know, just peel behind the curtain, and I
don't I know he's working later today. I know lead
to lat might be floating around the studio somewhere. But
I've already told Lee and we've discussed this on the air.
We need to come up with a top or five
bottom list every single week of liquor store items and categories.
(50:49):
I'm talking, you know, top five tequilas, top five tequilas
under three dollars, Top five mini bottles you can sneak
on a plane, top five I've you know, bottles of
wine under twenty. Like you, whatever you want to come
up with, you can do it. There's endless scenarios and possibilities,
and you know what you're gonna get. Every single time,
(51:09):
you're gonna get somebody being outraged by the list. It
works every time. It is the time on or tradition.
It's the Las Vegas of sports media. A man, every
time you throw it up, somebody goes to it. They
sink their teeth into it, and you get a bunch
of response to it. You think anybody at the NFL
(51:29):
and NFL network is upset about you not liking the
fact that Mahomes is for you? Don't think while they
were putting this together they were like, hey, by the way,
what do you think they're gonna do with it? Of course,
but we all get it's like the old Bill Parcells
when he talked about Terrell Owens. You know he sucks
(51:52):
you guys right into everything. Consider yourself sucked. That's exactly
what happened here, and it's gonna happen again next year,
and it'll probably happen next week with some other top
of that comes up. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio
at the Jonas Knocks on X at the Jonas knocks
on X, we do have the feedback you've all been
looking for. Brian right here writes in get back to
(52:14):
PMS ing and bleeping your bleep about your boy toys,
Skip Bayless leaving FS one because you can't steal all
his takes and use them anymore, You unoriginal, useless bleep
board op.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
Hey, I like Skip Bayless.
Speaker 3 (52:35):
People need to start respecting what Skip Bayless has done
in this game a little bit more fum being honest.
Aaron writes in Jonas you were wondering how someone could
steal a Jackie Robinson statue, you mentioned that you're never
stolen even a pack of gum. That's false. Since Fox
Sports Radio pays you for this raggedy Saturday sports show,
(52:57):
you are a thief. Paul writes in nothing excites this faery.
Jonas Knox like all the hunks and beefcakes and their speedos,
so you can salivate over their luscious bleeps while they're
(53:17):
backstroking fantasizing about being ravaged by them, like the bleep
gobbler you are. Jason writes in nothing will be better
than seeing a Euro bleep boxer beat the bleep and
body bag this bleep and bleep.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Jonas Knox.
Speaker 3 (53:42):
Again at the Jonas Knox on X at the Jonas
Knox on X, followed up by the Judas Knox on
X which writes in I'm glad you took a break
from your meat gazing on air Horse one to bring
your weak Olympic basketball takes. That is these ass hats
thinking Mahomes isn't the best in the league. Coming up
(54:07):
next here from the tire rack dot Com Studios. Somebody
did something in the world of football that they didn't
realize it was gonna be funny, just kind of fell
into the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (54:19):
We'll tell you what that is here on FSR. Without
a doubt, the most popular sports talk radio hosts on
the Island of glomb is Jonas.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
Knox Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming up in we'll
call it a little over ten minutes from now from
the tire rack dot Com Studios. If you've got a
rough situation going on in your life, We've got just
the thing that's gonna make you feel better.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
I mean, it doesn't matter what it is. This is
gonna make you feel better.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
We'll get into that for you again a little over
ten minutes from now. I did find it, uh funny,
and the NFL didn't mean it this way, but I
did find this kind of comical that, you know, as
we're celebrating the greatest players of all time being inducted
into the Hall of Fame, I mean, it's rarefied air.
We're talking like three hundred and seventy ish players in
(55:18):
the Hall of Fame. Like, think about everybody, like if
you played football, everybody that you played football with, like
I mean in the world, and only three hundred and
seventy ish have been in the Hall of Fame. It's crazy,
Like it is such rarefied air. And so as we're
celebrating that on Thursday at the Hall of Fame game
in Canton, Ohio, before the game was called, and you know, apparently,
(55:41):
you know, all the all the people that bet on
the game got their money back, which is I think ridiculous,
but point whatever sidetrack. But like, as we're celebrating all
the greatest players, like one of the players that got
inducted into the Hall of Fame was Devin Hester, and
so I just thought it was kind of interesting that
(56:02):
on the night that they celebrate Devin Hester getting into
the Hall of Fame for being primarily a kick returner,
they decided to roll out that bag of clown craft
that you called the new kickoff. I just thought there's
something about that that is unintentionally funny, because whatever the
(56:23):
hell that was, that is not the football that I
knew growing up at all. And it's not the football
Devin Hester played when he was becoming a Hall of
Fame player, but being the greatest returner of all time.
And listen, I understand, you know pump returns a little
bit different, but man, that guy's signature moment in my mind, like,
would you tell the story of Devin Hester. It's like
(56:44):
he was the greatest kick returner of all time? Oh yeah,
when did he do it? Oh to open up a
Super Bowl? Like that, Like that was a kick return
And so they're celebrating all the greatest players in the world,
they're celebrating a guy who got in for being a
kick returner, and all that.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
They come up with was that.
Speaker 3 (57:03):
And look, I've said this before, I don't want them
to eliminate the kickoff, Like it's not way what times
the game start, it's what times kickoff. For a reason,
like we're gonna have to change the way we talk
about this stuff. Like imagine, you know, they get rid
of the opening tip in basketball. It's like, uh, this
(57:24):
game tips off? What? No, you can't say that anymore. Like,
so I hope they keep it. They've done things. They've
moved it five yards back and five yards forward and
you can't move until the ball comes out, and they're
they're trying this and it's gonna be you know, a
lot of you know, a lot of trying to get
used to it. Rich Basacia, the Packers special teams coach,
has already come out and said, yeah, I expecting there.
Speaker 1 (57:45):
To be some changes.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
There's gonna be some stuff that are changed when it
comes to this throughout the court because they're gonna see
especially through the preseason. But whatever the hell that was,
that was weird, Like that's going to take some time
to getting used to. And I'm not averse to the
NFL making changes and me pushing back on it initially
and then all of a sudden being like, you know,
(58:07):
actually that is a great idea, and I've talked about
it many times before. I didn't like the fact that
they were moving the extra point back. I thought it
was stupid, Like why are we spending time on this,
like it's an extra point? And then you start seeing
how much more difficult it became for this shoe in
play that was sort of a throwaway play that everybody
(58:29):
just assumed was going to be made and you get
an extra point. As soon as they moved it bag,
it changed and I was like, okay, I was wrong,
like that was the maybe I'll be wrong with this,
but whatever that is, that just looks odd And I know,
like why the NFL is trying to you know, they
say they want to be able to keep the kickoff,
(58:50):
and again I hope that they do. I hope that
it always stays in the game. I think it's important.
I think it's a crucial play. It's the game that
starts games. And yeah, it's a little anti climactic when
you when you see them kicking off and it just
goes out of the end zone and you end up
getting the ball in the twenty or twenty five whatever
it's like, but like, dude, that just looks weird. It
(59:13):
looks odd. Nobody's moving like it just the whole thing,
thee like it just like it just feels strange. And
I know that this is about safety. But I you're
never gonna get rid of concussions. Let's just be honest
about it. They're always going to be there, Like you're
(59:35):
never going to get rid.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
Of concussions ever.
Speaker 3 (59:40):
Like they can wear foam padding, they can wear that,
like they're they're always gonna be Like people get concussions
all the time. Like there's some people that get concussions
because of the whiplash, Like it's not even like a
blow to the head, it's you know, they're just like
they're shook and their brain shakes around in their skull
like it it is a violent contact sport, like it
(01:00:02):
is sanctioned violence, and you want to like make it safer.
Like you can only do so much much before you
have to come to terms with the reality that people
are gonna get cracked and bad things are gonna happen.
Like it just that's the way this goes. It's like boxing,
It's like MMA, It's like, I mean, like you can
(01:00:26):
only do so much before you realize, Okay, like listen,
we've done everything that we can. But these guys are
taking blows to the head, they're smashing you know, their
shin against somebody's skull, they're doing leg kicks, they're doing
body shots like that stuff. Like you think urinating blood
(01:00:47):
is like good for you, like that's acceptable. Like if
you if you like went to use the restroom later on,
or you're at a stall or a urinal and you
go to take care of business and all of a
sudden you see blood in your.
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
You're like, WHOA, that's a problem.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
Yet these guys see that it's very common in fighting
and they go back for more. It's not normal, but
what they do isn't normal, and football isn't normal.
Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
Like it's not like a normal job where you can
make you can't put airbags in.
Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
So like this idea that well, you know, we're trying
to say, I get what you're trying to do, but
you also have to get what's impossible to do, and
that's completely wiping out concussions and injuries from that sport
that is all about collisions. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio,

Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
It all right.
Speaker 7 (01:02:57):
Thank you. Jonas In the NFL reports say that all
Sins and receiver Tyreek Hill have restructured his contract to
include one hundred and six point five million dollars in
guaranteed money over the next four years, the most guaranteed
money ever for a receiver. NBC Sports says that among
the sticking points and negotiations between the Cowboys and quarterback
Dak Prescott is the number of years in the deal
(01:03:18):
and how long Dallas will be tied to the quarterback,
and reports state Cardinals linebacker bj Ojulari towards ACL in
practice on Friday. At the Paris Olympics, the eight hundred
meter freestyle on the women's side just underway, Katie Ledecki
going for gold for Team USA. Moments ago, we just
saw on the track the women's one hundred meters Carrie
(01:03:39):
Richardson wins silver, but it was Julian Alfred of Saint
Lucia who won gold, the first ever Olympic gold for
the nation of Saint Lucia. They have a population of
just over one hundred eighty thousand people. Jonas our Guy
American Ryan Krauser. He took home gold in the shot put.
The man who can squat seven hundred twenty five pounds.
(01:04:00):
It's a three pat for him. He's the first man
to ever three pat in Olympic shot put history. Simone
Biles won another gold medal, posting the top score in
the vault final. American Jade Carey took home bronze. Now
seven golds for Biles shall have a chance for two
more of them on Monday when she goes on the
balance beam and floor exercise finals. USA Basketball Cruise pass

where they will face Brazil on Tuesday. Women's soccer beat
Japan in the quarterfinals today. They will face either Canada
or Germany in the semi finals on Tuesday. Men's water
polo has booked a spot in the quarterfinals. A golf
Sanders Shoffley John Rom tied for the lead heading into
the final round tomorrow. Tommy Fleetwood one shot back. Women's

tennis China's can Win Jang beat Croatias Don Aveckage to
win gold and finally a check on baseball. Yankees on
top of the Blue Jay seven to three. In the
eighth inning, Aaron Judge hit his forty first home run
of the season. Earlier, Jonas back to you.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Thanks, Nick, Jonas knocks you're on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
By the way, coming up in we will call it
about fifteen minutes from now, we are going to have
the scraps things in the world of sports and beyond
we have not had a chance to get to. That'll
be yours here in about fifteen minutes from now. I
did get a kick out of this though, before we
get into this situation at sports. It's going to make
you feel better about anything that's troubling you. I did
think this was kind of funny. So, you know, we
(01:05:23):
talked about the Dak Prescott situation. Listen, he's got the
Cowboys by the balls.
Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
I mean, let's just call it what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:05:28):
He's going to get whatever money he wants, and it's
either going to be from Dallas or somebody else.
Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
Like I think it'll be Dallas.
Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
I think this is They can try and stall it
and delay it all they want. Dak Prescott's going to
get paid. But there was some people out there that
were noticing the attendance at training camp for the Cowboys
and Oxnard, and again, depending on who you ask, some
people call it knox Nard.
Speaker 1 (01:05:49):
You know, it's in the eight oh five.
Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
I mean, that's that's the stomping grounds, all right, ben
Tura County. And apparently attendance has been a little light,
and some people have suggested that maybe fans are over it,
you know, like maybe they're just fed up with the
Cowboys coming up short. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm sure they're
gonna be struggling to have people in the building there
during the regular season in Dallas.
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
Yeah, I'm sure.
Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
I'm sure at and T Stadium, it's gonna be a
real real lighthouse there at at and T.
Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Are you crazy?
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Training camp members have zero to do with the interest
in the team, especially when their training camp is two
time zones away like there's and by the way, I'm
sure it's gonna get more and more crowded probably this weekend.
(01:06:45):
You know. For those of you that aren't familiar with
the area, let me walk you through this. I live
in Thousand Oaks. If you go up north on a
little freeway called the one oh one, right, I don't
believe that's the same freeway that Jordan Addison took a
nap in his car in.
Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
I don't believe. I don't believe. I think that's the
one oh five.
Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
So if you are on the one to one, you
will not see Jordan Addison, you know, take it a
little bit of a cat nap behind the wheel because
he got on the liver loop a little bit too
much on his flight. You will not see that. But
if you go up the one to one, there's thousand Oaks.
Next up is a place called Newbury Park. Right after
(01:07:28):
Newbury Park, you go up over a hill. It's called
came Rio. Right after cam Rio, you know, you could
probably honk and say hi to Ryan Berschinger at that
point in his family. Right after Cammerio you get to Oxnard.
That's cowboys training camp. Well, if you go one city further,
it's Ventura, and there's this scene called the Ventura County Fair.
(01:07:51):
So that's going to be busy. Oxnard's going to be busy.
Low attendance there during the week doesn't mean that the
cowboys are in trouble and people are losing interest. All right,
you gotta stop trying so hard they care. They're next
(01:08:11):
to the Raiders. I would argue the Cowboys are the
most popular team in Southern California, and all of that
is just extras. You don't think they're going to be
filled to the brim when they get back to this season.
They're still projected to be one of the best teams
in the league. They just got some issues about next year,
you know, like twenty twenty five. But as it stands
right now, low attendance numbers don't mean anything when it
(01:08:34):
comes to the Cowboys and the interest in the team.
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio, all right, speaking of attendance,
if you feel down about anything in life, and I'm
talking like what did listen, you're going through a breakup?
I got you, kids misbehaving? I got you. You gotta
(01:08:58):
loved one, who's a drug add I got you car
broke down? I got you, just got laid off. I
got you, need some house repairs done, sprung a leak inside,
crack in the ceiling.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
I got you because at least you're not the Chicago
White Sox. Because what a diaper fire? Whoa oh bad?
Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
If you want to talk about bad, like whatever issues
you got just watch a White Sox game, because that
team absolutely stinks. They've lost eighteen games in a row,
all right, eighteen games in a row. They've lost eighty
five total this year thus far, they are on pace
(01:09:50):
for the all times loss record in Major League Baseball.
Like I think the Mets have it. It's like one
hundred and twenty losses. The White Sox are on the
project right now is I think one twenty three or
one twenty four. They are terrible, terrible, And the best
part about it they had over fourteen thousand people at
(01:10:14):
a home game a couple days ago.
Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
Why why, Like teriously.
Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
They're like maybe the worst team of all time and
they had fourteen thousand people show up to their game.
And the best part about that, And it's not even
a slight Like I actually compliment the White Sox on that,
Like how the hell you get in fourteen thousand. Let's
just be clear about this, Like Chicago sports is a
(01:10:45):
disaster right now. But you had a UFC fighter win
the welterweight title over in London last week, balal Mohammed.
He's fighting out of Chicago, like he's a Chicago fighter
and he went over in Enemy territory and dominated their champion,
Leon Edwards. He's literally the bright spot for Chicago sports
(01:11:11):
right now. Like, you know, it's bad when all you've
got because of how bad the teams are in town,
are hoped that maybe the Bears win eight games and
Angel Reese.
Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
That's it, Like that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
The Cubs have won three in a row and are
still sub five hundred. The White Sox have lost eighteen
in a row. The bull stink. The Blackhawks are terrible.
It is brutal, and for some reason, fourteen thousand people
still showed up to a game a couple.
Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
Of days ago.
Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
And the best part is their average attendance this year.
They're not the worst, Like, hey, why is Tampa Bay
trading everybody at the deadline? I don't know, because a
third from the bottom of attendance. What about the Marlins?
What about the A's. The White Sox are historically maybe
the worst team of all time, and they're not close
(01:12:15):
to being the worst team when.
Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
It comes to attendance this year in Major League Baseball.
Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
So again, whatever you got going on, I don't care
what ails you. I don't care what ails the people
around you. I want you to turn on a White
Sox game and feel better about your situation. Jonas Knox
here Fox Sports Radio. Coming up next here from the
tire Rack dot Com Studios, we will close up shop
with another edition of the Scraps right here on FSR.
(01:12:39):
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Make sure you stick around
little over twelve minutes from now from the tire rack
dot Com Studios, the great Steve Hartman and uh that's.
Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Uh, where is it? Where's yeah? Where is it? Where's
the hold on on? I have it here somewhere.
Speaker 7 (01:13:00):
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah mo.
Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
Ma se Manci Bolanyas.
Speaker 3 (01:13:14):
They'll be coming up here again a little over twelve
minutes from now, so make sure you stick around for that.
They will have some fun for you here on a
Saturday afternoon. By the way, if you've missed any of
this show, you can check out the podcast. It'll be
posted shortly after we go off the air. All you
got to do is search Fox Sports Radio. I'll even
tweet out and x out a link to that as
well to at the Jonas Knox, so just be sure
(01:13:37):
to also follow, rate and review that podcast again. Search
Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts. You'll see
the show posted right after we get off the air. Now,
I do want to just point this out. We did
read insulting tweets from earlier in the show, as we
do per usual. Here a couple of them I couldn't
retweet because I didn't think anybody was really interested in
(01:13:58):
seeing some swimmer or from France and you know, the
loaf of bread he had in the front of his pants.
And then the other one, which was the controversial boxer
at the Olympics. I didn't think anybody wanted to see that,
so I didn't repost those. But if you want to
hear what those tweets had to say, you can check
them out on the podcast right now, though, it's time
for this, Jonas, Moron.
Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
How could you not get to these stories?
Speaker 6 (01:14:23):
Moron?
Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
Are the scraps?
Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Bo Benson to find out what the hell we haven't
gotten to on the show yet.
Speaker 8 (01:14:32):
Thus far Bo, that's right, it is the special time
of year of the Olympics, so we're going to have
our good friend Chris Purfett fill us in on what's
the latest with the metal count here.
Speaker 9 (01:14:40):
Yeah, thanks a lot, Jonas for stealing my lead story
about the French, the French pole vaulter.
Speaker 8 (01:14:45):
Oh, okay, sorry, is there a rule about bringing your
own equipment to the event.
Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
I just I just love how that was, like the story,
you know, like I don't even know who won the event,
but everyone's like, get a load of this guy, Alright.
Speaker 9 (01:15:00):
I'm sure they'll get plenty of questions at Olympic Village
about that.
Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
I'm sure you will.
Speaker 9 (01:15:04):
We'll get a nice, nice finish there. Anyway, let's update
you on the metal count. The United States actually, thanks
to Katie Ladecci picking up gold in the eight hundred
women's Freestyle and Page matt and also taking home bronze,
now moves into second place in the gold medal count
at thirteen, China still holding first at sixteen.
Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
By the way, Chris, sorry to interrupt. I did want
to point this out since you mentioned Katie Ladecci. The
great Victor Brick Jacobs on the Blowtorch and five seventy
LA Sports he gave Katie Ladecci one of the great
names of all time, the Queen, the Queen of Chlorine.
Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
Ooh, I love that. It's a glorious name. By the
great VTB.
Speaker 9 (01:15:44):
I used to swim like a fish in junior high.
I don't think I could have ever done an eight
hundred meter, but.
Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
You know I wouldn't. I don't want to be a swimmer.
Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
I don't want to shave my armpits all the way,
you know what I mean, Because once they start to grow,
you get a little bit of stubble.
Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
It just looks like you like you're hugging an ant farm,
which is weird.
Speaker 9 (01:16:01):
So kind of hard update it just given that there's
plenty of track and field going on. But I think
USA right now sixty gold medals first place. As I said,
they're still trailing by about three gold medals to China.
One of the big stories from the weekends though coming
You know, women's fencing.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
Did very well.
Speaker 9 (01:16:17):
But did you watch the rugby sevens women's match? I
know we're going back to last Sunday, but what a
finish to that game.
Speaker 1 (01:16:24):
I didn't Maybe I don't know, but it's too hard
to keep track of what's going on.
Speaker 9 (01:16:29):
It just well, if you want to have some fun
watching someone run over an Australian person, go back and
watch that match in the Jesus.
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
Oh no, no, yeah, I said, I did see that one.
She got wiped out.
Speaker 9 (01:16:39):
She got wiped out, no time remaining, and that is
a that is a Nick Saban play if I've ever
seen one out there. Run game established. That is your
Olympic update. Plenty going on right now, by the way,
I think we talked about that. But Julian Alfred picking
up the first gold medal ever for Saint Lucia, last
athlete I can remember under that banner the best really Yeah,
(01:17:03):
oh interesting that just got out of the NFL because
of concussions. I mean, Katie Ledecki, that's awesome, you know,
all the other Olympians. Congratulations the guy with whatever's going
on downstairs, good for you.
Speaker 1 (01:17:14):
The real story is that.
Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
Chris Prefett will be live doing national updates here coming
up tomorrow morning. So you want to give the time
slot to where people can tune in and harash you,
so you know what we go through.
Speaker 9 (01:17:25):
That'll be six am Eastern to nine am Eastern with
Andy Furman and Bucky Brooks. All right, kind of a
bit of a reunion with the fur ball there.
Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
Yeah, so make sure you check it out and listen
to Chris. So all right, bo, what else we got
going on?
Speaker 8 (01:17:39):
Rangers starting pitcher Max Scherzer. He was placed on the
fifteen day injured list with shoulder fatigue. Clayton Kershaw, his
last start, just got absolutely rocked by the Sandy de Padres.
The age of that picture is it's coming to an end.
I don't know if Justin Verlander still exists, but I
don't think Jacob de Gram exists anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
Other so it's.
Speaker 8 (01:17:58):
A an in baseball. It's starting to look like it is.
Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
And the Kershaw one was a little troubling, but I
mean he's also coming off, you know, major surgery.
Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
I mean, I'm his first surgery ever in his career.
Speaker 8 (01:18:12):
Yeah, And you.
Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
Know it's not just I will say this because I
was making this point and this I'm probably going to
be on an island alone with this. Of all the
years you were going to blame Dave Roberts for a
potential Dodger's meltdown, I don't know that this is the one,
you know, Like, dude, there's a lot of things, like listen,
the unfortunate situation with Freddie Freeman's son, Mookie BET's getting.
Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
Hit with a ninety eight mile an hour fastball in
his hand, all.
Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
The injuries Clayton Kershaw them starting the year in Japan
and then coming back for spring training. You know, show
hey o Tani having a degenerate, flunky, gambling thief as
his friend did.
Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
Dave Roberts has no control over that. Yeah, so I
just a lot going on. What else we got?
Speaker 8 (01:18:56):
The Downtown Aquarium of Denver has a new resident. Broncos
fans banded together to save an extremely rare lobster from
someone's plate at a red lobster restaurant. They named the
lobster Crush, and he's acclimating well to his new habitat
there in the downtown the Quarium of Denver.
Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
Why him?
Speaker 8 (01:19:15):
These lobsters are apparently one in thirty million, So what? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:19:20):
How the hell is it in a red lobster he
got accidentally delivered? I guess very carefully.
Speaker 8 (01:19:23):
Yeah, but they saved him Crushes alive, and well, I mean,
how does that happen?
Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
Like what do you like? Hey, where are you guys?
Sending him?
Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
Put him in the box with the red doesn't even
make any sense, which, by the way, so anybody's seen
Deadliest Catch recently? Like if you haven't, don't worry. Just
watch every season they're all the same. You know somebody
gets hooked on something. Next thing you know, there's blood
in the water.
Speaker 1 (01:19:47):
To a mess. Shonas the son of a bitch.
