you know, the big controversy, you know, the big story
(01:46):
going on right now is this unprecedented maneuver made in
college football between Tennessee and now former quarterback Nico yea
Maleava got through that, okay, And there's this decision that
Tennessee has made to move on from him because apparently
(02:08):
he wanted a little bit more nil money than he
was currently earning. He was earning a little bit over
two million dollars in change. He wanted four million dollars.
They were at an impass during this whole thing. Tennessee
wouldn't bock on their decision to not meet that asking price.
They've got a spring game coming up. He no show
to practice. He entered the transfer portal, he notified the
(02:30):
coaching staff, and so now everybody has taking a step
back and firing off. Well, good riddans. Tennessee's got to
move it. He's not worth that kind of money. I
even saw Paul fine Bomb rank him like oh. I
reached out and asked coaches where does he rank amongst
(02:50):
quarterbacks in the SEC? And they're saying he's in between
six and eight. He's not worth the money he's asking for.
Tennessee did the right thing. He got the Tennessee fan
pounding the table saying they did the right thing. They
stood up for.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
This has got to stop. Enough enough with.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
This nil chaos that's going on here. This has got
to stop. And so people are calling out Nico and saying,
what are you doing. You're getting two million dollars, you
should be grateful for it. Why do you think you
can give four million dollars? And I look at this
whole thing, and I go before we sit here and
(03:30):
pile on.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Before we sit.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Here and condemn him for not being appreciative of the
money and the opportunity and what he's got here, can
we all just acknowledge the most important number in this
whole thing. It's not two million, it's not four million,
it's not six or eight where he ranks according to
(03:57):
some coaches in the SEC. You know what the most
important number heres? In this whole thing. Twenty The guy's
twenty years old. What were you doing at twenty years old?
Were you making the best decisions in the world? At
twenty years old? What were you up to? Let me
tell you a little story about what I was up
(04:18):
to at twenty years old.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
I thought this would be a great idea.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
You know what I'm gonna do. I'm going to roll
in to a tattoo in piercing shop and I'm gonna
get a lbrett. Do you know what a lit brette is.
It's that piercing that goes on the lip, you know,
like right below the bottom lip. I thought that was
(04:44):
a good idea. If you would have asked me that day,
in that moment, hey man, how long are you gonna
keep that?
Speaker 3 (04:51):
For? Oh God forever? Who good? This looks?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
I mean, it hurt, it was awkward, It would get infected,
there's still some scarring there. Sometimes difficult to floss and
brush your teeth sometimes. But if you would ask me
that day, I'm making the right decision. This is a
good decision, you know what. And there wasn't one person
(05:15):
around me who said, no, man, you should think twice
about that.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
I was like oh, man, live your life. You're twenty
years old. Do your thing. Hey.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
And then I went in for a job interview and
they looked at me like, hey, dude, hot topics like
three blocks away.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Think you're in the wrong place.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
The point is, at twenty years old, we have no
idea what the hell input other people in his life have.
We have no idea what somebody's telling him. We have
no idea what the conversations.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
We don't know.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
You and I, sitting here right now would look at
this and go, dude, take the two million dollars.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
You're in a great place. You had a decent year.
You guys were a playoff team a year ago. Build
on that. It's two million dollars. Build on that.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
But we're not twenty years old, and we don't have
the people in his ear that he does. And who
the hell knows what sort of other offers are out
there for him. He's in the portal now. Maybe he'll
get the four million dollars he's looking for.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Maybe not.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
There's stuff coming out that, Oh he was a pain
to deal with, wouldn't do autographs, dude, I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
He's twenty.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
So I know that we can look at this and
want to talk about, well, you want to be a professional.
This is called being a professional, okay, And then there's
a reality to all this. The guy can't even legally
drink yet. So while everyone sits back on their high
(06:58):
horse and talks about to all these players, and they've
got to put a stop to this, and it's about
time somebody stood up to them. Man, we have no
idea what sort of bad representation they've got, bad advice
they're getting. We don't know, because at twenty years old,
we all made dumb decisions and we don't.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Even know yet.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
If this is a dumb decision, maybe it works out
better for him financially. Sometimes you got to take a
step back, take the wait and see approach, and then acknowledge,
Hey man, when I was there, I didn't make the
best moves either. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio at
the Jonas Knox on X at the Jonas Knox on
(07:39):
X and you can hang out with us as always
on the iHeartRadio app. All right, So you ever had
a buddy explain to you the absence of his significant
other and it just doesn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Like, hey man, where's your girl at ah?
Speaker 2 (08:01):
She had, you know, some some stuff came up and
couldn't make it, and yeah, could couldn't make it. Like
it it's like a party to celebrate your engagement.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
It's like your engagement party. Why could she?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Well, just you know, there was some you know's, some
things that okay, and they give you some like half
ass excuse or reason why, and you just kind of
look at them and you look at the rest of
your friends and you're like, hmm, that doesn't seem right.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Seems like there's more to that story.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
And I bring that up because I'm seeing that now
Derek Carr's twenty twenty five season is in jeopardy because
of a shoulder injury that he I guess suffered at
some point during last year, I guess, and the Sea
season might be up in the air. He might even
(09:03):
need surgery. And I look at that and I go, hmm,
that doesn't seem right. Seems like there's more to that story.
This is the same offseason in which he reportedly wanted
to be traded, wanted to be sent elsewhere. The Saints
you know, restructured his deal kind of maybe you know,
committing him to this twenty twenty five season. All of
(09:27):
that is happening, and then what do you know, It's April,
the drafts a couple of weeks away, and all of
a sudden, Derek Carr's got this injury that just popped up.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Hmm. A little strange, don't you think.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Remember a couple of years ago when the Niners are
trying to trade Jimmy Garoppolo and he just decided, you
know what, God, I gotta get this shoulder worked on,
and I'm gonna go ahead, and I think I'm gonna
go ahead and get a surgery here. And John Lynch
and Kyle Shanahan specifically John Lynch were not thrilled with it,
not happy because I kind of through them for a loop, like,
now we don't know what to do. We thought we
(10:05):
had a plan, we thought we had an understanding, we
were going to try and work on a deal, and
now all of a sudden, nobody wants.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
To trade for damage goods.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
And I'm not saying that there is anything scandalous going
on here, nefarious, I'm not saying there's any but it
just seems a little odd that this would all of
a sudden pop up now, especially considering he was looking
at other options he wanted to be dealt, they reworked
(10:34):
his contract. He spoke openly either late last season or
right after the season about no, I will not take
a pay cut. I'm willing to restructure, but I'm not
going to take a pick. And it just hasn't gone
well the way everybody thought it was going to go
in New Orleans for Derek Carr. I think they've been
the favorite to win the division the past two years,
and breaking news, they haven't.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
I was high on the.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Saints a couple of years ago, didn't go well. I
was high on the Saints this past year. Didn't really
go all that well. It's just one of those stories
that somebody gives you that you go, man, I don't
have any surefire proof that that's a bunch of crap.
But if you were asking me right now, if I
gotta place money on one way or the other, this
(11:21):
feels like a load of crap. It feels like there's
a lot more going on with this story. Then it
feels like this isn't just some shoulder injury that popped up.
Apparently the Saints have known about it. It didn't come
as a surprise to them, and I just wonder if
New Orleans is sitting there going okay, all right, we
got it. I mean, look, the good news is they're
(11:43):
sitting there at nine. If you believe all the other
stuff out there about you know, shoud Or Sanders. Maybe
shoud Or Sanders is sitting there for him and he
gets an opportunity to start games next year.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Maybe.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
But that's one of those stories where somebody's giving you
the details, and they're giving you the information and without
needing anything else. You know, right off the bat, that's garbage.
That is not whatever you're being told. At the very least,
there's more to it than this surface explanation we've gotten
(12:16):
from the New Orleans Saints NFL reporters regarding Derek Carr
over the last twenty four hours. Jonas Knox here Fox
Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox on X at the
Jonas Knox on X and you can hang out with

Speaker 3 (12:31):
All right, so we are going to have a fun
one coming up on the show.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Brady Quinn, I believe he's at a Master's party.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
I don't have confirmation on that. I just know that
might have been on the docket today for him. He's
going to stop by an hour two of the program.
We're also going to have another edition of Do You Care.
We've got the scraps as well too, as we close
up shop.

you want to follow along, we post show content stuff
from throughout the week, stuff from the weekend at Jonas
knock Show on Instagram, not Jonas Knox, not that one.
Speaker 3 (13:18):

to get into that one.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
At Jonas Knox Shows where you follow along for that
and you can see all sorts of fun show content
or not so fun, just depending on who you ask.
Coming up next here though, from the tire rack dot
Com Studios. Apparently it's everybody else's fault. Apparently it's their
(13:43):
fault and this nobody wants to be accountable, nobody wants
to take blame for an awful season in the NFL.
Apparently it's just somebody else's fault. I'll tell you who
we're talking about next. All right, First off, Jonas Knox
can suck it.

Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming up about ten minutes
from now here from the ti Raq dot com studios.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
We are going to get to the bottom.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Of something that is sweeping social media that I don't understand,
and we are going to do that with an expert
that'll be yours here again a little over ten minutes
from now here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Listen to you.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Yeah, we were doing Arnie Spanier impersonations during the break wow,
which is always a good way to pass the time.
It's also a good way to blow out your vocal
cords as well too. But I'll be honest with you, man,
because Arnie knows I'm a weather geek. He sends me
updates about the snow and the conditions where he lives
in Vermont, and I like, it's still snowing, like just
(15:01):
dumping on people like me out here in southern California.
We're looking at like Easter Sunday being eighty eight degrees
or something like that. And meanwhile, in Vermont, you know,
Arnie's backyard looks like you know, somebody's coffee table in Miami.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Zero just powder everywhere. So maybe that explains it. Maybe
that explains his behavior. Maybe that explains why he you know,
he comes in with a red ass from time to time,
you know, is what it is.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
All right, So let's get into the blame game, because
this is I get a kick out of this stuff,
because like when when somebody wants to identify a massive
problem by pointing out something that doesn't matter as the
(15:51):
cause of the problem, Like like, that's my favorite part.
It's like, you know, your neighbor's house is on fire, Like,
oh my god, what happened? I don't know what, I
don't know, but like, great, what is it?
Speaker 3 (16:12):
They didn't even do the dishes. It's like, oh, yeah,
that's yeah, that's what it was.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah, never mind like the flames that are engulfing the home,
you know, like somebody didn't press start on the dishwasher,
got it?
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Okay, Well, it's good to see that that was the.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Cause of the major issue that's going on there. But
let's keep focusing on that. Like the fact that they're
still doing that in Chicago is amazing to me.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Caleb Williams was doing an interview.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
With Esquire and he talked about former coach keeping my
former former coach Matt Eberflus instead the following how he
handled the Hail Mary lost to the Washington Commanders. How
he handled that at the time for that game was
(17:06):
I think one of those things that throughout the locker
room people talked about and were annoyed by, because you know,
Matt Eberflus, like, you know, let Washington pick up like
twenty five yards on a couple of short completions before that,
and then you know, was the Hail Mary and all that,
and and like here we are, like all these months later,
(17:27):
and like that's that's one of.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
The big takeaways from like what went wrong. Yeah, it's
like how he handled that. It's like, oh, okay, well,
let's let's let's play that game. Then, all right, let's
let's play that game as Yeah, that really really bothered
people right after that game totally understood. Right, what about
the next four games? What'd you do the next four games?
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (17:53):
You lost those?
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Okay, So So never mind those, let's focus on the
hail Mary and how your coach handled it right after
the game. So you lost the next four, okay, fair enough. Yeah,
but it continued. He didn't learn his lesson. Do you
see what happened at the end of the Lions game
on Thanksgiving?
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Oh yeah, so to everybody else, So to everybody else, yes,
we all saw it, all right, And you know what,
Matt Eberflus was punished and rightfully slow, awful clock management.
It was terrible. He was fired the next day.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Couldn't even have like a leftover turkey sandwich without getting
a call and being notified.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Oh yeah, he's gone.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
In fact, not only was he fired, they let him
meet with the media on Friday to talk about the
preparation for the next game and then fired him.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Right So he was.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Fired, punished and embarrassed on a holiday weekend. So there,
But hey, at least we've got rid of the problem,
all right.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
So what happened next? Ah?
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Nothing, just lost four their final five and were outscored
by sixty one during that stretch. But that damn behavior
post hail Mary against Washington Man, that really pissed us off.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
Okay, all right, at some point, when is anybody else
just gonna like raise their hand and be like, hey,
you know, like he wasn't the only issue last year.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Like I mean, he didn't help. We got it, Like
he did not help, but we were just a bad team,
just bad. And yet for some reason, there's still like
a conversation that's being had and a discussion being had
about the Hail Mary loss to Washington. Dude, you lost
(19:59):
like ten right after that, and even after the problem
was gone, they were annihilated. If not for Cairo Santos
kicking a fifty plus yard field goal as time expired
the final week of the season against Green Bay's backups,
(20:24):
you would have lost every single game after.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
That Hail Mary.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
And he wasn't there for majority of those. Like, hey,
houses on fire, that's a real problem. Didn't even start
the dishwasher, got it.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Got it.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
We got to fix that, all right, Somebody get in
there and fix that. It's just like at some point, No, that.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Wasn't the only issue. There were several. There were a
lot of them.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
And yes, everybody's really optimistic and really looking forward to
seeing what Ben Johnson can knew. And this is not
a defense of Matty Ebertflus. But it's a defense of
the entirety of the season. You can't just pin it
on him, right, It can't just be that. It can't
just always go back to that. There's gotta be some accountability,
and apparently they haven't quite.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Gotten there yet. Maybe this year.
Speaker 2 (21:29):

All the way to your listening device.

And give a round of applause for the magnificent Sir
Isaac longcro.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
I think that I thought we had a bigger crowd.
Thunderous round of applause by the captive studio audience really
sold that tremendous introduction. Well guess what I got something.
I think everybody ran to the parking lot to see
if their catalytic converter was still there. I know I
did undo that at least twice an hour round here
as Jonas laughs knowingly. Hey got some fresh audio for you,
(23:37):
Jonas from our top trending story. And that's of course
in college football is Multiple outlets reported the Tennessee moving
on from starting quarterback nico Il Malayava after he reportedly
held out from practice Friday as part of an NIL
contract dispute. Yahoo Sports reporting il Malayava has submitted paperwork
to enter the transfer portal. Now Tennessee spring football game
(24:00):
just happens to be today going on as we speak
and Jonas A short time ago. Tennessee head coach Josh
Hipel gave his first public reaction to Ia Malayaba's departure
in an interview with Brent Hubbs on the VALL Network.
It's a state of college football.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
At the end of the day.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
No one's ever bigger than the program that includes me too.
And uh, we got an opportunity.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
We got a bunch of guys, are gonna give them
all for Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Uh and uh we moved forward, got a great group.
Let's go compete. That's right from the field moments ago
in Neiland Stadium, now here to react. SEC Football NIL
insider Jonas Knox, who cares? I mean, like, dude, we
got it, all right, everybody you know pound the drum
(24:47):
for Tennessee. We got it.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Okay, we're better off without him, Okay, Okay, it's like dude.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
All right. I just I don't, I don't. I don't
know why they I know, he's got to, you know,
promote the program, and then they got to promote that. Listen,
we're a team here. We're a team here, and nobody's
above the team.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Like I get it, But how about like, hey man,
it's over, we move on now, we just focus on this.
Like you made your statement, everything was, everything is fine.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
I do.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
I am curious if maybe he was a little bit better,
or maybe he hadn't entered the transfer portal, maybe something
else would have gotten done. Who knows, But it's just
this whole thing where everybody's now got to take a
side and go all in.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
On what an idiot this kid is. Dude, he's twenty
years old. He's twenty, Like, we don't know, Like you
have no idea what he's being told, how this old
thing's going to turn out. So I just asked you
that to bump up your social media mentions from SEC Country,
so you might want to hit refresh. Speaking of they
don't scare me. Listen, I spend time in SEC Country.
They don't scare me. Come on, please, I don't know
(25:51):
if he want to don't I don't know if he
want to talk tough like that to people in sec
Country as a friend. Okay, all right, I see here,
have your microphone, beer goggles on? Huh yeah, all right,
still in sec Country. After two rounds of the Masters,
justin rowse a one shot lead. At eight under par overall,
he is one shot ahead of Bryson de Shamba. The
story so far in round three is the charge made
(26:14):
by Zach Johnson. He just finished a six under sixty
six in round three, so he is now up to
four under par overall and his four shots off the lead. Finally,
back to football, North Carolina head coach and former Patriots
head coach Bill Belichick coming out with a new book
in May called The Art of Winning Lessons from My
(26:34):
Life in Football, and the first review of the book
is now out from Ben Volin of The Boston Globe,
who calls it quote a vehicle for Belichick to share
his thoughts on leadership and team building. What it isn't
is a tell all book to pull the curtain back
or settle, and he scores unquote. Volin goes on to
(26:55):
note that in the two hundred and eighty nine page
long book, there is no men of Aaron Hernandez or
Robert Kraft. No word yet on if there's a mention
of you, Jonas, but back to you. So what does
that mean.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
It's like he's got to mention Aaron Hernandez and Bob
Kraft in the book.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
It is notable. You know, he is the guy who
hired him for a twenty year career, and he doesn't
mention him once in the acknowledgement. Well, look, you know
that this book is going to get mined for any
possible slight or controversy. And that's just one example of it.
You know what you're here. Let me help you out here.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Actually you want me to write the I can actually write,
you know, briefly. I can write a couple of chapters
on Robert Kraft and Aaron Hernandez.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Oh, I'm sure you can. I'd love to read the
Robert Kraft chapter. All right, which chapter you want me
to start with?
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Right now?
Speaker 3 (27:49):
I'll just do it on the air right now. Hey,
it's your show, Okay, you pick a card, any card,
Robert Robert Rapper Kraft. Robert Kraft fired me because he
was still bitter about Tom Brady and he thought he
could do the job better than I could, only to
find out that he whiffed in hiring girod Mao the
next year. Also, by the way, he once spent time.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
At a grab lab before an AFC title game in Jupiter, Florida.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
All right, you want the Hernandez chapter next? No, No,
I just want to unpack the writing process by such
a artisan of the of the word as you. What
did you say, uh grab last Yeah, it's it's just
amazing how you were able to instantly come up with
multiple synonyms for a variety of societal topics.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
I mean, look, I'm trying to say I want I
want to please everybody here. So apparently people are upset
that Robert Craft wasn't mentioned in the book. We just
did it here, all right, So you so if you
would like us to finish off the remaining chapters of
the book, we just did one on robber Craft. Now
to Aaron Hernandez, he murdered somebody and then killed himself.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
The page. You can get that off his Wikipedia page.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Though, And he's had eleven documentaries about himself.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
Like, so oh boy, I probably shouldn't mentioned this.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Like every time, every time, whether it's like you turn
on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Telemundo, like like you turn
on there's a new Aaron Hernandez documentary and everybody's got
a different story about.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
It's like what, I don't think I've ever said this,
but I was actually in one of them? Were you really? Yeah?
Which one one of them? The one that was like
a movie? At least tell me you were a stunt
double in prison? No, I hate to disappoint you. I
played the part of a football announcer from like his
(29:44):
first game at Florida. True story.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Okay, so like like a documentary or like you.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Like the movie? The movie? Yeah, the movie? Are you
in the Can I see you in the credits? Like
the IMDb of the movie? I actually don't know because
I've never see it because I'm too cheap to sign
up for wherever you can get it. But it's a
true story. I don't even know if I'm in the
movie or on the cutting room floor.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
But hey, bo Benson, can you look up? Can we
see if Isaac Longkron is in the IMDb of the
Aaron Hernandez movie, Like can we can we please? Like
like what was the by what's the name of the movie?
Should have seen it coming?
Speaker 3 (30:24):
American Sports Story? Like like like what was the name
of the movie? We had Hinson Gainesville. You know what
I mean, like.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Like, uh yeah, if we could just find out because listen,
one of my favorite things that you don't lead to Lap,
the great lead to Lap, executive producer of that Nicol
and Die Morning Show, Two Pros and a Cup.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Of Joe Lee to Lap.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
He his dad was the drummer of the Pinheads in
the Back to the Future movie.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
No kidding, Yes awesome.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
If you go to Back to the Future and you
go into the IMDb, you can see I believe, I believe.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
It's Robert Lee to Lap.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
I believe it is the credit in there, but he's
actually the drummer of the Pinheads in that movie.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
By the way, you weren't kidding. There are a bunch
of related there's the killer inside the mind of Aaron Hernandez,
Aaron Hernandez uncovered. That's crazy. Yeah, a lot.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
There's a lot, like every week one pops up out
of nowhere, like every single week.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
But if we can both, if we could get to
the bottom of that. We've got to find out whether
or not Isaac Longkan is telling the truth.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
Isaac is not listed in the credits, not even playing himself. No,
there's no there's no IMDb entry for Isac long, so
you can go make one.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Isaac.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
How pissed would you be if the credit said Steve
de Sager?
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Okay, I do.
Speaker 6 (31:44):
I've never looked at the cast for this show.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
I didn't.
Speaker 6 (31:47):
I didn't watch it. Patrick Schwarzenegger is Tim Tebow is
fascinating to me and I need to find that footage immediately.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
And what's the name of this this particular Aaron Hernandez
American sports story?
Speaker 3 (31:58):
But it had multiple episode so I don't even know
what episode I was in. Maybe one of the earlier
ones because it was like his first game at Florida.
Speaker 6 (32:05):
Well, I'm gonna watch it, so I'll let you know.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
See, that's sweet, Jonas. We got to get you into
a movie to play a talk show host. What do
you mean?
Speaker 2 (32:14):
I was in the Aaron I was in the Aaron
Rodgers Netflix documentary, No kidding.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
Yeah, if you go to episode three, I didn't even
know it.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
They played clips from our show talking about Aaron Rodgers
come back.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
That's awesome. I'll check it out. Yeah, so yeah episode
So what's your Netflix password? Yeah? Come on, wet Star's
got one.
Speaker 6 (32:38):
Netflix might owe us all money because Rob g is.
Also he's in the Michigan documentary that they did too.
Is he really yeah? You can hear his horrible voice
well with.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Rob Wait, Rob Parker. I'm sure Rob Parker was thrilled
with wow, jonas an alarm. Aren't you old residuals? Jonah?
If you made it into this Aaron Rodgers documentary, aren't
you owed? Like eighteen cents somewhere?
Speaker 2 (33:05):
That's listen, that's my guy, Aaron Rodgers, my guy. Everybody
knows that I'm an Aaron Rodgers defender, so you know,
I'm just happy to be a part of the process
trying to get him back. People trying to put a
stain on his name. By the way, Isaac, I do
need to get I've got to get. I gotta find
out what this social media trend is about. Maybe you
don't have the answer right now off the bat, but
I will say this, I'm seeing everybody using chat GPT
(33:28):
to make action figures.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
On Yes, that is the trend of the week. Yes,
why it's just the flavor of the month. I don't
know how they do it, but I'm actually impressed. It
seems to be pretty high quality considering you know, I'm
not sure. It takes a computer genius to be able
to do it. There must be like an app somewhere.
(33:50):
But yes, that's been a big deal over the last week.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
Are people that self obsessed that a selfie no longer works?
Speaker 3 (33:58):
I need an action figure? They are, Yes, I've got
to get an action figure? Okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
It's like the people that sit down with the fair
and have somebody do a caricature of them, like, hey,
draw a funny picture of me. Dude, turn your camera around,
take a picture and save your twenty five dollars and
go get a corn dog, you slob.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
All right, So a couple things here. A. Are you
therefore calling for your vast social media following of adoring
fans to create one for you? And B If there
was a Jonas Knox action figure, what would the accompanying
items be as part of it? What would you be holding,
(34:41):
what would be by your side? Et cetera, et cetera.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
I know, first of all, I don't want one, but
it would if you could just make somebody that looked,
you know, like Dracula with a couple of tattoos, bad
ones at that, and just holding a radio mic.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
I mean, if you just did that, you'd probably that works.
Like I have nothing, so those will be your accessories?
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Yeah, like basically, yeah, I have nothing nothing, so I
have nothing to offer, and I don't want an action figure,
and I don't want anybody doing an action figure of me.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
I don't have mirrors in my house. I'm disgusted with
whatever is looking across from me. So you're a real
self promoter. I mean, they let you on, they let
you on TV. If you were that unpleasant looking, they
probably wouldn't invite you. Keep inviting you back. I don't know,
I've seen worse.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
It is Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio at
the Jonas.
Speaker 3 (35:30):

is going on when it involves a major sporting event.

Speaker 3 (36:24):

Speaker 4 (36:26):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
DMS your reports not let's get kinky.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?
Speaker 2 (36:42):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Bo Benson to find out what the hell people
have been talking about all week.
Speaker 6 (36:47):
Boh yeah. Future Laker Nikola Jokic has become the third
ever player to average a triple double for the season. Jonas,
do you care?
Speaker 3 (36:55):
No, I don't, I don't care.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Look, and it's not to diminish the accomplishment it's incredible accomplishment.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
He's a great player. It's just neat. Why was your
coach fired?
Speaker 2 (37:08):
You know, there's other questions I want to know, like
why was Mike Malone fired? You just want a title
less than two years ago. I don't you know what's happening.
Was there an altercation? Was there a fight? Some people
are saying that Mike Malone was a big fan of
Russell Westbrook, and you know that bothered some players. It's
just the NBA is a weird, weird league, and while
(37:32):
this is a great accomplishment, there's still a bunch of
stuff out there. I just like some answers for why
was Mike Malone fired? Why was Luca really traded?
Speaker 3 (37:40):
Etc. Etc.
Speaker 6 (37:41):
Next, Cowboys quarterback Deak Prescott said that his hamstring is
improving and he could play today if he had to. Jonas,
do you care?
Speaker 3 (37:48):
No? Definitely, not, definitely, don't.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Oh well, I mean I'm not even sure why. And
this is being reported on elsewhere. I will say this,
the Cowboys do provide something.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
You know.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
They're almost like the Saltene Cracker of the NFL. Like
you're looking around, there's nothing to eat.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
It's like God, is there anything.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Oh look, hey, there's a sleeve of saltines that'll work,
you know. Look, yeah, we'll just you know, I'll chew
on that and we'll figure out dinner later on. But yeah,
past that sleeve down here, what's been sitting up here
since you know, twenty eleven. I don't worry about it,
like it just they're always there. There's something there you
can pull from. If you want to talk about NFL,
(38:33):
just go.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
To the Cowboys, the Salteene cracker of the league.
Speaker 6 (38:36):
Next, former Cardinals dB Patrick Peterson's going to call it
a career, officially retiring with the team on Monday. Jonas,
do you care?
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Yeah, he had a great career.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
I think everybody remembers him as somebody who played for
the Arizona Cardinals. He was there for a long long time.
Looking up Patrick Peterson's career. Eight times Pro Bowler, three
time All Pro. Maybe, I mean, maybe he's got a case.
(39:08):
Played over two hundred games in his career, Like he
might have a case potentially borderline Hall of Famer.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
But a great career and he gets to go back
home to it all started next, all right, Jonas.
Speaker 6 (39:20):
A woman in Colorado posted a video to Facebook that
has baffled commentators. It shows a strange creature coming up
to her porch to eat the food and water that
she'd left out for stray cats. People think it's a bear,
maybe a rabid wolverine. Other people that are right think
it's a cub oficabra. So, Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (39:40):
I do.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
I love it me like I love this stuff. I
love conspiracies, I love all this stuff, you know. JFK
moon landing, lockness monster. I want this to be a
cub oficabra, I really do. It's literally a bear who
was attacked. It's a bear. The bear's got some flesh
(40:02):
wounds on his face, right, So what this is a
bear who may have reached into a wood shipper to
grab some food and walked over to somebody's house to say, hey,
how do I look that?
Speaker 3 (40:14):
My best guess? You know, it is a little bit
of laziness.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
We're being honest, little bit of laziness in the world
of sports. We'll get into that for you coming up
here in just a couple of moments from now, Jonas
Knox Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with us
as always on the iHeartRadio app. You can find us
on hundreds of affiliates all across the country, no matter
where you are.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Make this a part of your Saturday afternoon. We appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
We will be taking you all the way up until
the end of this hour four pm Eastern time, one
o'clock Pacific, and we do it all Lotti iraq dot
com Studios tiraq dot com. We'll help you get there,
an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road has a
protection and over ten thousand recommended installers. Ti rac dot
com the way tire buying should be. So the one
(41:01):
thing I will always give the NFL credit for.
Speaker 3 (41:05):
Is they have cornered the market on coverage and sort of.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
Markers if you will, like places to get to like benchmarks,
you know, like.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Hey, we're going to get to this, We're going to get.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
To like they just they set up these these parts
in the schedule.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
And on the calendar that they don't let up.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
So it's always churning, like you know, you're taking like
the numbers came out to where teams made you know,
four hundred something million dollars last year or whatever, just
crazy amounts and crazy numbers that have come out, like
you break down some of the contracts that some of
the earnings, Like it wasn't that long ago.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
TJ.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Watt signed his deal he's set to make and the
final year of his deal a little bit over twenty
one million dollars this upcoming year. Miles Garrett just signed
for forty eight year in like that's and it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
That long ago.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
So like when you see the numbers and the contracts
that are handed out now, like the NFL has figured
out the way to promote their sport and.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
To keep you engaged.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
They announced already and the rumor is that the schedule
release is going to come out by mid May. So basically,
what the NFL has done is they already had you
for the season. They had you all the way up
into Super Bowl. A couple of weeks after Super Bowl,
you had the Combine. A couple weeks after that, you
had free agency. Then you've got the Draft, a couple
(42:39):
weeks after that, you've got the schedule release. Like next thing,
you know what training camp's going to be here, and
then we're already off and running. Like they've just figured
out a way to always keep you engaged and more importantly,
always keep you interested. So why the numbers continue to
go up? Like the one thing you don't have to
worry about in the NFL is, man, what's gonna happen
(43:01):
when so and so leaves? Tom Brady is the greatest
of all time, even he was just a spoke in
the wheel. It's gonna keep going. They're gonna keep going
like there was for a couple of seasons, like, man,
is Tom Brady gonna come back? And then when he
(43:24):
finally decided to walk away and call on an end
to a great career?
Speaker 3 (43:29):
You just keep going.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
You got Mahomes, you got Burrow, you got Josh Allen,
you got all these great players.
Speaker 3 (43:35):
The Eagles just won a Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
You got the tush but push debate, you got all
these all these things are they just figure out a
way to continue to grow the game to where it's
not so dependent on one star. But at some point
people also have to move on, like NFL fans move
on pretty quick. You can celebrate great career, and you
(44:00):
do so with the Hall of Fame, but at some
point you can't be totally dependent on it, because then
it just becomes lazy. Like that's part of the NBA
coverage that I think people get fatigued by as oh
who's better Jordan or Lebron's Oh god, here we go, all.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
Right, well who's your top five point guards? Oh god?
Speaker 2 (44:22):
Just like when I hear that, I just I either
turn it off, walk away, or I want no part
of it.
Speaker 3 (44:26):
I'm good, thank you, see you enjoy that. Not interested,
it's not as bad, but almost as bad as talking politics.
Not interested. I don't care, Like whatever your opinion to do,
that's fine.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Like we got into sports radio and sports coverage for
a reason, Like whatever you're in like that, dude, leave
that word is. We're here to have fun, play a
little grab ass, bust balls, and talk sports.
Speaker 3 (44:53):
That's it. So I see this story that.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
Comes out and at some point people are just being lazy.
Story comes out that the Masters, that the ratings for
the Masters was down in large part because Tiger Woods.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
Wasn't involved this year. It's like, okay, that's fair.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
If that's your reasoning why the Master's ratings were down,
especially in Day one. Fair tiger Woods is not in it,
got it?
Speaker 3 (45:29):
At some point you got to move on though, you.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
Know what I mean, Like that's at some point you
can't just keep waiting for Tiger Woods to be the
same player he was. Like Tom Brady retired and everybody
just moved on. And that's not disrespect to Tom.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
Brady like at all, but I think everybody just realized, man,
hell of a career, great career, all right, awesome, now
what And you've got people out there like, well, there's
no Tiger Woods. I'm that Like, no, no, no, no, you're
just being lazy. You're not accepting the new reality, which
(46:08):
is he's never gonna be the player he was. And
when he won the Masters a few years back, people
like that that was probably it. It's over, and you
have to figure out a way to accept that and
just appreciate it for what it is. Look, I'm not
(46:29):
gonna sit here and lie to you and tell you
I'm the biggest golf fan in the world. I'm not.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
I don't watch every single tournament. I'm not, you know,
telling my son, no, we can't go to the park
and play baseball. I've got to watch the Valero Open. Apologies,
just no, no, no, no, Like it's not gonna be me.
But you can't argue.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
That the Masters.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
Isn't one of the great tournaments or sparing events that
we get all year long.
Speaker 3 (47:02):
It's phenomenal. Just from a.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
Viewing standpoint, it's hard to argue with the coverage of
the Masters in comparison to other sporting events, like there
is something to the optics of things, like how they're
presented to you. People didn't like watching games during COVID
because they're like, oh my god, it's empty stadiums, empty arenas.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
Ough, it's just gross, Like.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
They didn't like the Masters. Every single year, if the
weather is cooperating and it has, it's gorgeous, Like you
can't like, you can't argue with that. And so when
people are like, well, the Red Tiger's not in it,
and why should I be, Oh, the ratings are.
Speaker 3 (47:43):
Down, dude, dude, you're just being lazy. Believe it or not.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
Golf has to move on without him, They just do,
just like the NFL had to move on without Joe
Montana and Dan Marino and John Elway and Tom Brady
and Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger and all the other
Troy Aikman, all the other great players that have come along.
Speaker 3 (48:11):
At some point you do have to move on. Then
it feels like.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
There's a portion of people who call themselves, golf fans
or sports fans who just don't want to. They just
be like, no, we don't want that, we don't want to.
The numbers are down, well, there's no Tiger Woods, Like
Tiger hasn't been the same player for years, for years, but.
Speaker 3 (48:37):
You just got to move.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
And look, I do wonder this about the NBA when
Lebron is gone, then what like if the ratings are
suffering now and he's still there and he's the most
talked about, polarizing, successful, maybe top two great player of
(49:00):
all time, when he's gone, then what is it going
to turn into this where the ratings take another dit? Well, man,
you know Lebron's not at it? Why should I get's like, no,
you too have some responsibility here.
Speaker 3 (49:15):
If you truly are a fan.
Speaker 2 (49:17):
Of golf, or you like the product, or you like
the masters, watch why would you not? What's not to
like about it? If you truly are a basketball fan,
watch like the NFL has true football fans, Do you
want to know why? Because it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
Who retires or who walks away or who's not a bit,
they're still watching. If Aaron Rodgers decides right now, middle
of this show, breaking news Aaron Rodgers is retiring. If
that happens today, guess what's gonna happen. It'll be discussed,
It'll be talked about. He'll go into the Hall of
Fame in five years, and.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
They'll just focus on what's next for this season? What
are the Steelers do in the draft? Drafts right around
the corner Green Bay.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
Like you just kind of keep going on with your life.
It evolves, it moves forward. It feels like there are
certain leagues, certain sports that are so.
Speaker 2 (50:10):
Hung up on one You've got like this one player
that's holding up a portion of the audience and a
portion of the interest, and that can't be the case.
At some point, you either like it or you don't.
And while it's up to the league and it's up
to the sport to.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
Continue to promote news stars and continue to push the
product forward, it's also up to you to be like, no, no,
maybe I should.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
Look into this a little more, like tell me about
these other players, these other stars, so I can get interested,
just like I was when one of the all time
greats was still performing at a high level. Jonas Knox

you can't get enough of him having to bleep it
out in his return to Big d like the flaming bleep.
Speaker 3 (51:55):
You are.
Speaker 2 (52:00):

can find all these positive tweets and comments on today's show.
Up next here, though, we're gonna class it up. You

Fox during the football season, and you're gonna get to
(52:21):
hear him next here on FSR, the one and Only
Brady Quinn joins you right here from the tire rack
dot Com Studios. Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio coming up
a little over ten minutes from now here from the
tire rack dot Com Studios. We are going to tell
you about somebody in the NFL that has changed the game.
They have changed the game that you know, and they
(52:42):
did so very recently. We'll get into that for you
here on FSR. By the way, a reminder, you can
check out Fox Sports Radio on the YouTube channel. There's
a ton of great videos from many of our Fox

video highlights from our show. Be sure to subscribe so
you always have instant access to our Fox Sports Radio
videos on YouTube. So we are going to catch up
with our guy Brady Quinn here coming up in just
a couple of moments from now. I want to get
his thoughts on what the hell is going on in
(53:16):
Tennessee with Nico Iami Leava, Why do I keep screwing
that up? Whatever, I'm just gonna call him Nico, not
to be confused with the general manager of the Dallas Mavericks,
and everybody wants thrown out, tard and feathered on the streets.
But we're gonna get to the very latest on what
is going on there in Tennessee reportedly leaving two million
(53:42):
dollars in change on the table because he wants four
million dollars instead. Josh Heipel, the head coach, is out
talking about nobody's bigger than the program, not even him.
There's reports that are coming out now that he is
also apparently a pain to deal with behind the scenes.
There's all of that fun stuff to go along with
(54:03):
the storyline that is him deciding that four million dollars
is what he wanted and if he doesn't get it,
he's not going to show up to the spring game practice. Thus,
Tennessee decides to move on. By the way, calm the
chaos with the shipping software that delivers use code Sports

Draft Night Live on Thursday, April twenty fourth, at a
PM Eastern time throughout the first round of the draft.
Insider Jay Glazer, former Jets GM, Joe Douglas college Football
Hall of Famer, just to ask him, LeVar Arrington and
Fox Sports lead college football reporter Jenny Taft will have
pick by pick predictions and reactions to every first round pick.
(54:47):
That's Thursday, April twenty fourth, at eight pm Eastern Time,
throughout the first round of the Draft, live right here
on Fox Sports Radio, brought to you by Shipstation. So
do we have one Braden tequ Is he with us
here yet on the show? Okay, we're still efforting Brady
Quinn this night. I told you he may or may
not have been in a master's party. Guy loves golf.
Speaker 3 (55:11):
What do you want?
Speaker 2 (55:14):
Those parties do sound fun though they're like Kentucky derby parties.
People get all dressed up, drink mint and julips.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
I think they are.
Speaker 2 (55:23):
Go watch the horse race, bet two or three dollars
to feel like a high roller and just get annihilated.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
Hopefully somebody's watching the kids. You know, there's something for everybody.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
So hopefully we'll be catching up here with Brady Quinn
to get to the very latest on the the Nil fiasco.
Speaker 3 (55:45):
I do.
Speaker 2 (55:46):
I just get a kick out of it, man, I
get a kick out of everybody deciding now's the time
to say this is the.
Speaker 3 (55:55):
Real issue with Nil. See, this is what the real
problem is. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (56:01):
Maybe it's some of the people behind the scenes, you know,
some of the people pretending to have connections and hookups
and not giving actual numbers or truthful numbers on what
so and so can get and what's It's like the
whole thing was thrown on everybody's lap, probably a little
bit too soon. While it's great for players that they
can be compensated and rewarded for quality play at the
(56:26):
college level, which is probably well overdue, the idea that
all of a sudden, now's the time for us to
speak up and just you know, condemn anybody for wanting
a little bit more for themselves than they were currently getting.
Just to each their own.
Speaker 3 (56:43):
It's every story's a little bit different, every situation is
a little bit different.
Speaker 2 (56:47):
But I look at it and I go, look, the
guy's twenty years old. He's twenty years old. Maybe he's
getting bad advice. Maybe he doesn't realize because he's twenty
years old that the deal he's got is a great deal. Look,
maybe he's got a better deal out there. He's going
to get more money from somebody else.
Speaker 3 (57:04):
Whatever it is, this is where we're at, and this
is the new reality of college sports.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
And the new reality of college football. So you know
they can celebrate and be like, hey, we're gonna move on.
We're happy to move on without him. We'll go find
somebody else.
Speaker 3 (57:19):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (57:20):
Reportedly, Tennessee already reached out to another school to try
and poach their quarterback, and that school stepped up and
gave him a little bit more money so he would
stay put. Like the whole it's no longer college like.
This is a professional league. That's why I always say
the top two leagues in popularity or the NFL and
then college football. So it is Jonas Knox here on
(57:44):
Fox Sports Radio. So Brady Quinn is going to be
joining us here momentarily, I promise. I just received a
text from him. He will be with us here momentarily.
But why don't we do this while we were waiting
the grand arrival of one Brady Quinn here on Fox
Sports Radio from the ti Raq dot Com studios. Let's
then throw it over to another person who deserves respect.
(58:07):
He is the grand master of sports talk radio, Oh
don't give me off sports broad and the grand master
of Aaron Hernandez documentaries.
Speaker 3 (58:19):
Well you're right about that. The star of the screen
the one and only Sir Isaac Loncar. Yeah, Brady's never
turning your phone calls or text so why don't we
just throw Lo and Kron in the mix because we
we know he'll always be there. Well, no, I'm just
saying what you know.
Speaker 2 (58:34):
He texts me he needs a little bit more time,
so I thought, okay, well we'll get this out of
the way so we don't have to interrupt later on.
Speaker 3 (58:39):
You don't think that he The reason is he's actually
a Coachella right now and they're not in between sets.
Could he be a coach?
Speaker 2 (58:45):
That's right, that's this weekend on. You know, talk about
places I never want to go.
Speaker 3 (58:52):
Wow, yep, I've actually been there many times. You've been
to Coachella many times. I actually have, But not for Coachella,
for a sporting event, and you're right about that. It's
a great but not for a music festival. Just the logistics,
the parking, the dehydration, the sunburn.
Speaker 2 (59:12):
I'm just saying, my son could be having his communion there,
I wouldn't go.
Speaker 3 (59:17):
That's I don't want to hang out with those losers.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
No, like not trying to judge, but I'm not interested
in hanging out in the desert with a bunch of hippies,
you know, taking ecstasy, going hey man, we're the poor
depottis like you're inside one.
Speaker 3 (59:31):
What about a stage coach though, what about stage coach? No, definitely, okay, okay,
absolutely not, because I did learn this that there's a
difference between Coachella and stage coach. Stage coach is more
of a country music vibe.
Speaker 2 (59:43):
Yeah, okay, I'm not into the music festivals, just not
my thing.
Speaker 3 (59:47):
By the way, coming up in just moments, we will
have a Jonas Knox Brady Quinn social media branding update,
but first in college football Tennessee. Moving on from starting
quarterback Nico Iamalayava after your report, he held out for
practice Friday as part of an nil contract dispute. Yahoo
Sports reporting il Malayava has already submitted paperwork to enter
(01:00:08):
the transfer portal. We have a new leader at the Masters.
It is Rory McElroy. Here in round three today, he
is four under through four he is at ten under
par overall. He has a two shot lead over Justin
Rose and Bryson Deshambo. And the biggest reason why an
eagle on the second hole. Here's how it sounded on
(01:00:29):
Sirius XM Masters Radio. Roy McElroy pitch shot on the way.
There's an eagle pitch from behind the green on his
way to the hole and he's got it. A fist
bump from McElroy. He's down nine hunder par and has
taken the lead in the Masters. That was his eagle
on the second hole. So again, Roy McElroy at ten
under par overall. Justin Rose and Bryson de Shambo two
(01:00:50):
shots back at eight under par overall. Baseball. The Tiger's
a two to nothing lead in Minnesota after five. The
Phillies a three to nothing lead at Saint Louis Bottom five.
Yankees up to nothing on the Giants in the top
half of the second inning. Now preview of the impending
appearance of Brady Quinn at Jonas carp cap six' nine
(01:01:13):
posting moments ago, Quote holy, Bleep Brady. Quinn must be
a Slow saturday if you're going to help The king
of self promotion to get some. Ratings AND i don't
know if you know, This, jonas but it turns out
there is apparently a social media account dedicated to you
and the title Is Skinny Faced Ryan. Day apparently whoever
(01:01:36):
took the trouble to start this mock account thinks you
are a skinny Faced Ryan day look. ALIKE i do
not think. SO i personally think you are much better,
looking and most, importantly you do not clearly dye your. Hair,
OKAY i, mean are you aware of this of this
social media? ACCOUNT i was not until you just pointed.
Out Now i'm seeing it.
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Here.
Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
Okay, WELL i hate to make a bad story, worse
but while this account does not have a widespread, following
just twelve, followers one of the twelve followers Is i'm
not making this. Up your coworker lead to Lap, well
that's a that's a. Shocker. Okay, Yeah lee probably.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Thought they were giving away free booze if you followed,
them so that's why you went ahead and hit the.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Button all, Right, well thirteen FOLLOWERS i just. Followed thank,
You isaac Appreciated. Brady do you THINK i look like
a skinny Faced Ryan?
Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
Day, no you look like the dude from A Hunger.
Game that's actually your your. Photo i'm on my phone
whenever you call, it always talk, really, yeah the guy
From Hunger, games or he's like the brother who's a
d bag On yellowstone the one that no one likes
and he's like always trying to swindle his way into
the family.
Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
Weld oh, yeah, Yeah, Wesley Yeah, Bentley Wes Bentley, yeah
something like.
Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
That yeah, yeah like that. Guy yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
Yeah well, LISTEN i, mean you, know could always be. Worse.
Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
NOW i would like to, add by the, way for
those of you that are not, Familiar Brady Quinn fox
sports radio. Host he hosts a show with myself and
whatever his name, is weekday mornings from six to Nine Eastern.
Time Also fox college football.
Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
Analysts Are Big new And.
Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
Kickoff all, right so what do you make of the
chaos Of nil and Nico Ia malava who Decided i'm
not getting my four, Million i'm only getting two million and.
Change i'm gonna enter the portal and Now tennessee and
their fan base is piling on saying we don't need
him good For.
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Tennessee, well in, reality if you asked in The tennessee,
FANS i, mean it's not like he's played overly, well
especially in big games for, Them SO i can understand
their frustration with the situation and even just asking to
be paid more after you agreed to the deal in
the first. Place but this goes to highlight really the
lack of structure That's intelligion sports right, now and in
(01:03:53):
large part because of the agents this time and time.
Again you AND i have worked together now for a long.
Time we talked about a star show on two pro
and a cup Of joe at the amateur. Hour when
it comes to some of these, agents and it's kind
of funny That Dan, lannings the guy who's the, whistleblower
The Josh, hipel basically, saying, hey this, player his agent
and his family are sniffing around for a nil deals
because they want to see how much he can make
(01:04:14):
AFTER i already agree to someone With. Tennessee so it
goes to show you this sort of thing would never
happen at an actual professional, level because obviously you sign a,
contract you have a, union you have a thing called
a collective bargain, agreement things that are structured to never
allow this sort of thing to take. Place but this
is what, happens and so people can compare it to a.
Holdout but the problem, is even in a, holdout there
(01:04:36):
tends to be more of a track for. Resolution in this,
case it's a lot while, west and that's Where no
one really knows how this is going to play itself.
OUT i can promise you this, much, though whether It's
Ohio state Or. Organize some of the teams that people
had said they were like rumoring we're in on, THIS
i don't think they. ARE i don't think they are at.
All and in, fact they've got a lot of, young
talented pastors that are there that both organ And Ohio
(01:04:57):
state feels very comfortable with that are come up to.
Pipeline so it'll be serious to see What nico ends.
UP i think he's overplayed his. Hand he's one of
those guys that if you would have had a great
season At tennessee this year but ended up as a
top ten. Pick now he's got to find a new,
home learn a new. System and he didn't even play that.
Well and what's a really quarterback firly system At. Tennessee
one of the things.
Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
That you've pointed out THAT i don't and you just mentioned.
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
It they're talking about the agents and their involvement and
all this stuff Is and this was my thought WHEN
i saw, It like he's twenty years, Old like he
can be condemned for a, listen, man he didn't play
well enough to warrant four million dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
WHATEVER i just wonder who are the.
Speaker 2 (01:05:35):
Voices in his ear telling him to do, this because
it's not like he's just operating by. Himself like there's
clearly somebody that's either giving him bad advice or giving
him bad info or intel on what things could.
Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
Look like out. There and yet he's.
Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
The one who's going to have to be the windshield
to wear all the criticism and fall back on this
when it's the people around him that are giving him bad.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Advice, yeah it's kind of like you AND i be
in the windshield For LeVar arrington and some of those terrible. Takes,
right that's a great.
Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
POINT i was going to say that. Too that's a great.
Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
Point look at the, Parents and it's hard because we
try to condemn people for doing, this but if you
were in their shoes and you saw the amount of
money that's being thrown, around you'd, say, Well i'll do that, Too,
Right it's kind of human. Nature but then the thing
is it's the. Agents he'd trying to say. This the
agents in this process are like people that just got
out of the. Mailroom in some of these, agencies they
(01:06:27):
have very little. Experience they have no clue what they're,
doing and, unfortunately we need some of the brightest and
smartest minds to help guide us in an era where
there's really no structure around what's happening in college. Sports
you have amateurs and you have people who are just
now getting into the business try to kind of figure this,
out and they're kind of throwing stuff against the wall
to see what. Sticks and, unfortunately in this, case it's
(01:06:48):
ruining the reputation of a guy Like nico and he
has to wear, it you, know to your. Point, so,
look the adults did this a long time ago and
forcing THE ncaa really to have zero power on the,
say sat on their, Hands conference commissioners sat on their.
Hands no one did anything about what was happening in college.
Sports and, really instead of being, proactive they've been. Reactive
(01:07:09):
and that's what led us to this point where we
have players now, who, again human, nature you're always going
to try to go get. More you're always gonna try to,
maximize you, know your market value if you. Can that's
what we'd all would do if we were in. Hissues
but there's a lot of adults who are kind of
leading us there and how we got the abilities to do.
This there's a lot of adults behind the scenes who, are,
unfortunately you, know using his name as, brand his likeliness
(01:07:31):
to put them in this. Position, so you, know we're
a guy who's twenty years old could be a mature
enough to say, No i'm going to stick it. Out
i'm going to honor the commitment THAT i. Made but
that's not the environment that we've created for these young.
Men we've allowed them have two opportunities a year to,
transfer maybe more than that if their coach. Leaves we've
allowed them to try to leverage their nil to be
able to make more money for all. This so it's
(01:07:53):
an unfortunate, situation but it's the world that we've created
as adults in this whole anile.
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
World Brady quinn joining us here On Fox Sports, RADIO
i do want to get your.
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Thoughts on what's happening In.
Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
Augusta BUT i have to ask you if you thought
if you felt the same WAY i did when the
news comes out That Derek carr might need season ending shoulder, SURGERY.
Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
I don't, know feels like there's more to.
Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
That what do you think it seemed really Convenient i've
very rarely heard of a quarterback courting their shoulder at
this time of. Year And i'm not claiming foul plav
any nature or in any, way but the reality, is
usually your throws are pretty tempered down at this point in.
Time you're doing a lot of you, know core work
(01:08:36):
things to really help strengthen a lot of your decelerators
on the backside of your, arm and you're doing a
lot of things to help kind of build back up.
Strength and then once again in the summertime in training.
Camp it's in the maintains of the course of the.
Season so it's very surprising that something could happen in
particular to the shoulder because usually that's the part of
your throwing motion that if it's, anything it's gonna happen
(01:08:56):
during training camp or you're taking a bunch of reps
and making a bunch of. Throws SO i don't really
know the specifics to all of, this but it does
seem a bit odd that an injury like this would
take place at this time of.
Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
Year All, Right so we during the week drew names
out of a hat lead to Lap Drew roy McElroy's.
Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
NAME i always Draw roy McElroy's, name AND i sat
on the air, man this is going to be the
time he. Wins he never wins WHEN i pull his.
Name i've bet on him a bunch of, times and
now he's on. Fire he's got a three shot.
Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
Lead is he finally going to complete The Grand slam
and win The masters after winning the other three majors
in his. Career it feels like we're heading that.
Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
Way, yeah it feels like he's playing that way like you,
Should BUT i don't. Know i've seen the story. Again
there's a deason chance you get have some sort of
issue on the stretch here in the next twenty four.
Hours i'm not pretty Sure i'm willing to bet on that.
Yet and, also lead A lab very similar in nature
as far as how he, performs usually is able to
pull the performance one day and absolutely fall apart the next.
(01:09:55):
Day so given that those tour connected right, now there's
a decent chance that we all need to tune in
tomorrow because we're always going to fall, apart just like
lead A lab On, tuesday or maybe actually A. Thursday
Probably i've started Delivery, wednesday when he really can't hold
back his ability to just pound beers for the Entire
wednesday and then come and hung over On. Thursday that's
(01:10:16):
a good.
Speaker 3 (01:10:16):
Point, yeah that is a good. Point by the, way
keep track of this to the members of our.
Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
Morning show of Just cotton strays for no reason whatsoever
during this.
Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
Interview so what do you? Do are you at your master's?
Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
Party wasn't this one of your neighbors or one of
your buddies having a master's party?
Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
Today are you getting lit up or?
Speaker 1 (01:10:31):
What, yeah without a. Doubt and this actually is the
most elaborate party That i've been to for an event like,
This so kudos to my Buddy. Joe and the party
is putting on right. Now everyone time a great. Time
there's actually a taco truck out, there WHICH i know
you're in law. Appreciate there's a lot for everyone.
Speaker 2 (01:10:50):

Guy he claims that his new celebration is him taking
his words and throwing them out there to the. Crowd,
however when you watch, it he's very clearly just pulling
the on a grenade out.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
There, yes as he. Should BUT i talked about it last.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
WEEK I i think it's, tremendous like people can get caught
up and oh my, god it's a bad look for the.
League and now kids are kids are gonna what start
throwing invisible?
Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
Grenades what do you?
Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
Think do you think they sell actual grenades on the
ice cream truck when it rolls through the? Neighborhood? Hi
CAN i get a fifty to fifty? Bar CAN i
get one of those tweety birds with the gumball?
Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Eyes and then CAN i also get a? Grenade but
leave the pin? IN i want to make sure it
blows something, Up like what are we talking? About?
Speaker 6 (01:14:43):
This this is also a CASE i think where people
are being a little too uh to incense or too
too overly sensitive to, it because, like what are we
gonna stop calling home runs? Bombs, Yes like, Oh Aaron
judges hit a, Missile like oh, YEAH i can't say, that, okay.
Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
Like like, psmissile like it's not an actual missile with piss,
okay just for the, record just so people, know but,
no all we.
