Speaker 3 (00:26):
To Super Bowl l I X fifty nine in New Orleans.
Louisian had to be played at the Louisia had a
super doll.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
The lot on the line, DJ, As we prepare for
this game, will we see NFL history, the first three
peat in NFL history and Kansity Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelsey,
Taylor Swift, Andy Reid and you know, Chris Jones everybody else,
or in fact, will the city of Philadelphia be victorious
in a Super Bowl rematch of this two short years

(00:54):
ago in which a game in which we saw Jalen Hurts,
the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, play one of.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
The better games that we have seen in a loss.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
However, the problem, the reason I should not say the
reason in a one score game. He fumbled the ball,
led to a led to a scoop and score four
to six in a one score game. So Jalen Hurts,
you know, has been sitting with this ugly taste and
nasty taste in his mouth for approximately how many.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Just seven hundred or so days?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Right, Dick sirianni on wen won in super Bowls thus
far the Philadelphia Eagles, what three of the last eight
Super Bowls they've been in attendance. Nick Foles the one
winner this iteration of the Eagles yet to win a
Super Bowl. To have the opportunity to do it tomorrow,
we'll see the biggest edition of this team, Sakwon Barkley,
who if he goes ahead and gets this Super Bowl ring,

(01:47):
we'll camp off. It's not quite a career, you know,
saying Hall of Fame career, but I will say this,
he went from not in the conversation at all to
like one of the best running backs we running.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Back seasons we have ever seen.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Ever when you consider one hundred soul yards away from
the single season rushing record, smashing the postseason rushing record,
and uh just remember, oh.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Wait, he was a free agent VJ.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
How are you, Oh man, I am doing all standing
because it is the day before my favorite day of
the entire year other than my birthday and my kid's birthday,
and that is Super Bowl Sunday, the greatest single sporting
event in.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
The history of the world, not the history of football,
not the history of the NFL, not the history of
sports of the world.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
There's not a bigger day.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
There will be no more, not more the chicken wings
that'll be Ian, beer that'll be drunk, Gatorade that'll be spilled,
tequila shows that will be taking not pounds of nachos
that will be Ian.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
There will be more.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Jerseys, t shirts, hatskers, haters, people talking trash, people that's
got an uber from their friend house because they drank
too much and it can't drive home. If weeds to better,
let people crash on their sofas, like I've done many
times for Super Bowl Sunday. Listen, you're not driving. We've
been doing shots for every touchdown and the score was
forty four to thirty eight. It's a lot of shots
going down at a Super Bowl party. But I will

(03:14):
be reminsis if I didn't start off as always welcome all
our Fox Sports radio listeners. All our fans, Man VJ.
Verniles get a Bigvanilla Funny, the Big Vanilla sports dow
Poppy along with my man money making Martin Weiss Football
Saturday Fox Sports Radio. We thank you all for joining us.
And this is why Martin and I pick all our
picks all the week every weekend. This is why we
do all the underdogs every weekend. This is why we

(03:35):
argue about MVP awards, Who's coming up, who's going down,
who should play, who shouldn't play. It leads all to tomorrow.
Everything we've been talking about. I told you guys, football
season starts for me win right after the NBA free agency,
once the biggest name is off the board. I don't
care about free agency no more. It is football season
for me, even though at that point we're three weeks
away from training camp. So for me, it's been since

(03:56):
like July sixth, July seventh, that has been football season.
It will culminate tomorrow Februar, Whary the ninth, twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Five Eagles Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
You already named everybody from the chief side, But if
we jump over to the Eagle side, you got Jaylor Hert.
You talking about the fumble that Nick Bolton picked up
and ran in. It's fourteen seven. They're about to go
in and score. That's in the middle of the second quarter.
They run that and it is now fourteen fourteen. If
you remember, the Eagles didn't put ten un answered points
on the board, it's twenty four to fourteen.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
So think about it. If they don't have that play,
it could be thirty.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
One seven going into the half and that Super Bowl
and then that would be a comeback that would you
know would be for the ages of Mahomes had to
come back.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Crush that one sort quick question at the halftime of
that game.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I forget who was performing, but in the middle of
those songs, what did you think was going to happen?

Speaker 4 (04:40):
That the Chiefs was gonna come back? And one again,
I swear I was, I was legit. I was ating
the Super Bowl party down by my friend Hoise A
long beat. I turned around everybody, So are you ready
to see what Michael Jordan looks like at football?

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Ready?

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Ten points? It's only ten points, right, But they ain't
think about it. Once again, it's fourteen seven. When the
scoop and score happens at like the nine oh two. Mark,
I waent back and watch the game last and the
night before last, so way back and watch the game
like two or three times this week.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
And they still go and put up ten unanswered points.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
So if they don't have that turnover, even say they
come away with a field goal, it's twenty seven to
seven going into the half instead of twenty four the fourteen.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
But you're talking about Jalen Hurr.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
You talking about the Vontae Smith AJ Brown And turn
to the defensive side of the ball. Hello, up in
the move, mister vic vangiel A, sir, excuse me, salute
to you, sir. Took the twenty six ranked defense and
in one season turn them into the number one ranked defense,
fourth against the run, one against the pass. And that's
what Mahomes has to deal with tomorrow. Just such a
great game. I think the two best teams. I think
we would agree the two best teams all year long.

(05:36):
Got no Detroit's in there. People want to throw the
because they had the wins, But I told you that.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
I'd say Detroit was the better team in the NFC
to about week seven.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
But after that the Eagles took off.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
They took off and turn it on yeah, to the
point to where we want them to pass more. We
want them to do that. And they just said, Okay,
we're just gonna win, guys.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
How about that.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
How about we just go win our games and you
guys can write and talk about on radio and writing
your papers across the nation, border to border, coast to
coast all you want.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Fine will and we will. Damn right, we welcome. We
get paid to do it. But I'm so good. I'm
so gassed for this game tomorrow. Man.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
I've broken this game down in so many different ways
as we go on with the show, Let's Go.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Which so a lot of the conversation, rightfullyso has been
focused around.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
The possibility of a three peops not trying it. There's
nothing against Philadelphia, but it's.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Like when you could generally the first you don't see
things in history I only see at one time, so
we are the place now. I would have focused on
what happens if for Sirianni and Hurts if they win
this Super Bowl, right because now they both enter into
a category that is full of all types of different people,

(06:46):
but none of them are like, no one is taking
away the idea like Nick Foles, Right, average NFL quarterback
if that, but no one. You know what that Super
Bowl ring does, It shines very bright. Doug Peterson forever
have been fired twice as an NFL coach. You know
what here and Nick Foles do when they fist bump.
It's the two million dollar fist bump because they both
got super Bowl ring. Yeah, you see what I'm saying.

(07:07):
So obviously I don't expect Sirianni or Hurts. Let's just
say they'll be in Philadelphia the next year. I think
that's a safe assumption no matter what happens today or tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
What does a win do for them?

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Though?

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Oh man, a win, A win for Sirianni and Jyalen Hurts,
I think actually solidifies both of them.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Number one.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
What a win does for anybody in a Super Bowl?
Number one, that makes you a Super Bowl champion. I
say all the Tom Martin. It's the only sport. Can
you guys think of another sport where one kind of
carries your legacy forever?

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Right? Name me another? There's one? Does one NBA Championship
carry your legacy?

Speaker 6 (07:44):
No?

Speaker 3 (07:44):
There's one Major League World Series carry your legacy?

Speaker 5 (07:47):
No?

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Does one Stanley Cup do it?

Speaker 7 (07:49):
No?

Speaker 3 (07:49):
You need multiple of those. One super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Carries your legacy because if you never get one, you
get pushed down the list.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Real just a quick aside. I wrote a story this
week for Ebony magazine.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
You can go check it out Ebony dot com, and
in that I had to interview a couple of people.
One of the people who I interviewed said, please refer
to me as and how many times he wonted to
Sup He was like, refer to me as Martin Weiss,
three time Super Bowl champion.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
You go on your face. It was like a there
you go.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
It wasn't an ask, Yeah, it was a I'll give
you this if you do like that was I I
do you want better?

Speaker 4 (08:26):
We asked the champ. We asked the question Hall of Fame,
go jacket or Super Bowl ring. We don't ask that
question for any other pro league. We don't ask that
question for any other pro It is actually a coin
flip whether you want a gold jacket or super Ball ring,
and you only get one of those. So what it
does for them though, it solidifies them in super Bowl

(08:46):
champions Number one for Jalen Hurts, and that's the one
that's most important to me, being the way I support
him ever since coming out of high school in Alabama.
It really does solidify I am an upper echelon, elite
NFL quarterback because they don't. They're not gonna win the
Super Bowl despite me. Tomorrow, he's not gonna go out
and play horrible or play average and they win because

(09:07):
think about it, he out played Pat Mahomes two years
ago and they lost, so he's gotta play really well tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
He can't play average and he can't play bad.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
So if they win tomorrow, guarantee you it will be
because of him and possibly of course, say Kwan Barkley, right,
but we're not gonna go.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Well he has se Kwan Well, yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Sa Quan had him because Sa Kuan had a guy
named Daniel Jones in New York and they didn't do anything.
So I don't want to hear that argument, but I
think it does that for him, kind of shuts up
the hitters with I don't really care about. But it
just does that for Sirianni though man it to me,
it probably does more for him than it does for Jalen.
Also really quick to reverse back to Jalen, it also
means that another black African American quarterback has won the

(09:48):
Super Bowl and that is another big historic type deal.
But just on a football NFL since, Man, what this
would do for Sirianni? What would this do for Sirianni?
Then think about the trick he comes off of. Here's another,
here's here's another, got off that coaching trade that's got
a super Bowl appearance in the Super Bowl ring, gets
some two appearances a ring, and he'd beat Andy Reid
and Pat Mahomes when they were going for number three.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
That's and that's etched in history forever.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
So I think that's what it does for him and
what it does for jener hurts.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Yeah, I mean a as one.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
You won't give them props if they win them all, Sirianne,
You're still gonna bang on him.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
You admitted that. So I'm not sure if for you,
it depends on how serious quite serious.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
If I watch him go out there and it's like,
oh wow, the Eagles are the more prepared team.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Eagles are, the more physical. He's out, coach, he's out.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Are operating there, you know, the middle eight, they're operating
the two minutes drill.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Possible. I'm not saying it's not possible.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I'm just saying, if that's the case, then I'll be like, Okay,
But if I come out there and I see the
same Sirianni who's out there flapping, flapping his wings to
Andy Reid at the fifty yard line, gonna.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
You know, you don't know, you know? And if they win,
can he do it?

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Can he run around the field? And if he wins,
can he run around the field and take his shirt
off tomorrow and flap his wings dude, and get Gator
ray port on him like four or five times and
we and we love it on Monday morning?

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Can that happen? You win a step too far? I
don't have to love it.

Speaker 6 (11:17):
But it's a free country, so he can't win, especially
after you win the super Bowl. But I'm just gonna
warn you right now that if you do that, mister Sirianni,
people will not like it.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Yeah, people will continue to hate you. Yeah, he doesn't
care about people hating.

Speaker 8 (11:32):
Know.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
We've learned.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
I will say, though, I will you know what, damn it.
This is a free country. And I defend your right
to act like a jackass after you win a championship.
I defend your right to do so. I may not
agree with it, but I stand for that.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
So I stand for that.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Dick Si and Yanni Jalen Hurts will come out with
a Kang go ahead and the big change that told you, yeah,
this was.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Joint the question he wins tomorrow, he goes win tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Jaylor Hurts certified top five quarterback in the NFL, certified,
not debatable, certified. Name the top five then okay, well,
if you remember back in and again, let's just say,
just for the sake of because we're doing this hypothetical exercise,
let's say he has the same stats he had last
Super Bowl save the fumble, right, So three three fifty
through the air.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Two touchdowns, he went off. Yeah, well, I'm glad you
asked mer would go off in this hypothetical.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Well, you know me, I'm always prepared whenever we're gonna
type hypotheticals, because if you remember when I came in
with my top quarterbacks to start the season, I had
him at number at number three. That's where I had
Jalen Hursts, behind Lamar Jackson, behind Pat Mahomes. Also, top
four was Joe Burrow and number five was Matthew Stafford.
That was my top five back in pre training camp.
So I was before preseasons, before anything. So if I

(12:43):
give you the top five, now I gotta go Pat Mahomes,
Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
That's three four said four four.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
See, and that's how I think he's he's got a
fall in the top five certified because oh you know, fine,
I'll do this for the Bill's mafia. I'll do this
for Bills mafia. I'll give I'll give you Josh Allen
the number five because the man just won the MVP
and I respect it. He just won the MVP and
I respect it. Don't like god he want it, but
he won it. So I dd Jyalhen Hurts is right
there five or four or five. So then I would
say certified, naming people that are better than those five

(13:16):
I just named.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
I would have in my top five Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes,
Josh Allen, got Joe Burrow, got you and at five honestly,
right here, right now, all.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Right, know where you're gonna go where Jared Golf? Nope, Okay,
then I don't know where you're going in if it's
not Jared Golfer. The staff a little bit of a Scorcher.
Are you gonna do you better than not? Say CJ.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Stroud? Oh?

Speaker 2 (13:37):
No, okay, but it would have been maybe last year.
I'll go with Jayden Daniels.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
I think you guys are forgetting Justin Herbert. I didn't forget. No,
I didn't forget Justin Herbert. He might have no, no, no,
I did it.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
But in the preseason I had Justin Herbert at number ten,
So you can't jump up into.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
The top five.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
Golfair, I guess I just disagree with the preseason rankings.
But but but I will ask you this, j If
if winning the Super Bowl solidifies Jalen in the top
five NFL quarterbacks just because he wins the Super Bowl,
then why why wasn't Nick Foles the top five quarterback?

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Because Nick because Nick Foles was a placeholder and we
all knew it, and Nick Foles had and Nick Foles listen, man,
Nick Foles, he had a day.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Just call it what it.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Nick Foles had a day. You could say the same
thing about Trent Delfer. You can say the same thing
about about Brad Brad Johnson.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Right, they had a day, and they also had dominant defenses.
Now Philly defense winning that Donoman. They gave up almost
fireing and but Tom Brady went off to go of quarterbacks.
But it's also that his body of work. This is
his second appearance. Okay, we've seen what he looks like
on the big stage in the Super Bowl before. It's
the one fumble, but everything else in that game was
damn near flawless, including his passing touchdown and rushing touchdown.

(14:41):
So that's why I would say right now in the NFL,
right now, especially Herbert coming off of five was five minutes?

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Was five minutes? N four?

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Well either way, and the idea that I mean, it's
one hundred, Like I disagree with the premise, but to
put Jalen Hurts in Nick Foles, it.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Starts to stop what they both play quarterback.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Like Nick Foles had a stretch, Jalen Hurts is a
legitimate NFL starter. Like the gap between them, let's call
it Grand Canyon. All right, let's get to this real
qui because we'll talk about the Super Bowl for a lot.
But it was a trade that shook the NBA world,
and the Duff is starting to settle a little bit now.
The bad part about it is it's settling already with

(15:22):
an injury. We'll get to that coming up next to
Martin Wis Vida Husky. You know Fox Sports Football Saturday.

and a cup of Joe think they turned the morning

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yeah, and he was left and pleased.

That's episode that happens in New Orleans, so you can

one thing that we do know is happening in the
Super Bowl. Drake will be dunked on by an entire country.

(17:03):
We'll talk about that more in a little bit, but
I just think it's fascinating. It's like five to five,
the entire world's gonna be like, hey, minor, and.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
It's just all right. So about it's just about a
week ago.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
About a week ago, everything was fine, everything was cool,
nobody was worried. Lebron James had an incredible game in
Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
We're on the way to We're on the way home
from this show.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
All of a sudden, Schams just sends an earthquake through
the NBA trade may Luka Dacic for Anthony Davis.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
There's war particulars.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
But you've all heard by now, because if you can't
not be alive, I don't care if you're not an
NBA fan, you can't be alive over the last week
and not have seen some of the reaction and some
of the fallout from this move.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Anthony Davis made his Mavericks debut tonight. It started like this.
Here comes Tyrie on the try up.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Top Davias break down the rim.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Kind of time out by email you talk all the
rim almost came down all Daryl Dawkins.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
It was all good about midway through the third quarter
when this happened. I could pass Senka down the lane
and Davis went to the ground, grabbing his Coroin literally helped.
That's nothing. Gafford's gonna come in. Just in case Gafford
comes in for him. Kyrie is gonna come right back
it as well.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
With a minute thirty seven remaining, and Anthony Davis is
now going back to the Mavericks locker room.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Now that was I think you did ninety seven point
one the Ego Mavericks Radio network.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
This is not trying to be an indictment of Anthony Davis,
who has been much, much, much healthier h in the
last two seasons than he had been in the last
I don't know career right, but this could not have
debuted worse for doubts. Yeah, it couldn't have gone worse
because Anthony Davis came out and you had a moment
during that first quarter and first half where he was

(19:01):
on fire twenty six points in thirty one minutes I
believe had nineteen at the end of the first half,
and he leaves the game due to injury.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
The Mavericks win, but in.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
A moment in which they they can't even have the
general manager in the arena. They can't have him in
there for his own safety, because that's how worried they are.
That's how unpopular this trade was if he had come out.
The only way that this works for Dallas is if
Anthony Davis comes out and is one of the best
players in the NBA, which he has been, and it

(19:33):
translates to severe postseason success.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
The only way to even make people feel a little
better about this is a forty and.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Twenty night from Anthony Davis, which he was well on
the way to doing until he got hurt, which then
just brings the entire cycle right back around. I saw
my buddy Mike Curtis works for the Dallas Morning News.
He was the one I saw with the tweet, the
one I referenced as I was updating, and somebody replied
under him, thank you so much, Nico Harrison. Yeah, it's
such a better experience watching a well conditioned player get

(20:05):
hurt then a poorly conditioned player got hurt. You've really
improved my viewing experience. That's the nicest thing I saw
all day on Dallas social media.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Thing what Dallas say is it's a cowboy town. So
I'm really confused with so much of the venom is about.
I get it, but it feels like we're such a
follower society that this just kind of feels like like
when Lebron James Jersey got burned in Cleveland, right, we
started to see other cities burn Jersey.

Speaker 8 (20:32):
Right.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
It's copycat. It's copycat world, right.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
And these mad fans, they will show up while they're good,
and they supported Dirt Gold his years and win a championship.
But this is not a basketball town. This is a
football town. It's a football state. This is Texas, Okay,
it's the cowboy town you know, way before. It's a
map town. That part of it's confused to me. It
just feels like, hey, let's be mad at something, because

(20:54):
that's the world we live in. We all got to
be mad at something. This was a real confusion trade
for I had a lot of different thoughts and emotions.
And Mike Mars said, it's been a week now, so
he had enough time research a lot, watch a lot,
read a lot. I've covered to the Lakers twice this week.
I've had a chance to be up close and personal,
ask some questions, get some questions answered, get some shrugs,
kind of like some some things that that nature. And

(21:16):
on the nineteenth, when the Maps come to town, I
will be at that game. That's gonna be a very
interesting game. Hope Ad and Luca are both healthy enough
to play, and I know we gotta get this sacre here.
I guess I'll give the rest on the back end
of this. But confused, honestly confused.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Is where I was with it.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
Because to take a twenty five year old superstar and
a twenty five year old you know, top five player,
all NBA guy and trade him. You guys know how
my mind works. I'm not listening to all these reports.
I know there's something deeper. I know there's something up,
There's something deeper. Somebody said something, did something, don't like something.
Something is deeper than to trade a superstar at twenty

(21:51):
five years old who just got you to a conference
finals two years ago, in NBA finals last year and
is twenty five years old, and you trade him for
a guy in his early thirties who has injury problems.
It just it feels like we're away from the real
story was really and we may never really truly know

(22:12):
until the documentary comes out twenty years from now.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
But this, this really just let me confuse.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
Even with the Lakers, you traded the thirty one I
believe thirty one is AD thirty one, thirty two. You
traded the thirty one year old and kept the forty
year old thirty two thanks to him, and kept the
forty year old.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Like, it's just so many different things.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
If you want to look at schematics and how the
game goes, it basically have two point fourth that need
the ball and two guys that aren't gonna.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Play a lot of defense. God thirty one, excuse me,
thank you, thank you brother. So it confuses me.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Did the trade the semantics? They just it feels like
there's a lot more meat on this bone. Mart And
I think the easy thing is everybody's asking, well, who
doesn't help and who's gonna be first? And then ad
goes out and gets hurt today like Luke Guy hasn't
played since Christmas. Guys, if you guys don't remember that
Luke Guy hasn't played since Christmas. So very very confused.
The last quick thing, everybody's points in the future. This
is a trade made the Lakers for the future. Lad

(23:06):
d I'm at the Warriors and Lakers game covering the
game the other night. Lebron James is doing his powder
routine and at that point they bring Luca to mid
court and ladies and gentlemen Los Angeles Laker Luka da
and the place explodes at pissed Lebron off. Lebron came
out and looked like Miami heat. Lebron in the second
year he was not went ballistic. So some some some

(23:29):
good stuff there, but a lot of meat on the
bone in that story.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Let's kick it over to Steve just Segar, the best
update man in the business. Sorry about that stage update
of going on, Steve. We are starting with the Anthony
Davis game at Dallas. Let's look at the NBA scoreboard.
Dallas did win over a slumping Houston team won sixteen
one oh five. Rockets have lost six in a row.
Anthony Davis and his MAV's debut, left with an apparent
abdominal injury. Remember he'd missed the past five games with

(23:53):
an abdominal strain. He said it was growing tightness was
a non contact as the team put it lower body
injury hockey now twenty six points for Anthony Davis, sixteen rebounds,
seven assists. Dallas does get the win. Davis says the
injury is not serious. Lakers did win over Indiana one
twenty four one seventeen Austin Reeves forty five points. Lebron

(24:14):
James was out with a sore ankle. Luka Donsig could
debut for LA on Monday. The Hawks have twenty three
points from Trey Young and lead in the third quarter
at Washington seventy eight sixty four a Wizard's loss tonight
would put their record at nine and forty three on
the season. The Spurs are leading mid third quarter at
Orlandos seventy four to sixty eight, and Underway Trailblazers at Timberwolves.

(24:38):
For Minnesota, Anthony Edwards out tonight with a sore hip.
Kevin durant to the Suns will be out again tonight
with a sprained ankle. Starting in a half an hour,
Phoenix will host a Denver team that's won five in
a row. By the way, For Oklahoma City, Chet Holmgren
is out tonight, just for Rest. He just returned on
Friday after being out due to injury three months. Thunder
leading thirty one nineteen at Memphis late in the first quarter.

(25:01):
Guard Ben Simmons will reportedly sign with the Clippers after
a buyout with the Nets. Giannis Antennacumpo of Milwaukee will
miss a fourth straight game on Sunday with a sore calf.
Philadelphia's Joel Embiid is questionable for Sunday with a knee injury.
NBA All Star Saturday Nights in a week it will
include Spurs rookie Stefan Castle and the Slam Dunk contest.
The three point contest will include the two time defending

(25:24):
champ next week and Damian Lillard NHL. Among the fourteen games,
Carolina a seven to three winner against Utah. Tampa Bay
won sixty three at Detroit. As for college basketball right now,
at Clemson, the home team leading number two Duke fifty
six fifty two with about seven minutes to go. We
already had Kansas ranked sixteenth lose at Kansas State eighty

(25:45):
one seventy three, and eleventh rank Marquette lost at Creighton
seventy seven sixty seven, tenth ranked Texas A and M
a winner at number fifteen Missouri sixty seven sixty four,
and number twenty two Mississippi State has won by a
point at Georgia's seventy sive seventy five. Number one Auburn
earlier in the day lost at home to number six
Florida ninety to eighty one. The Eagles activated defensive end

(26:08):
Brandon Graham. He had triceps surgery in November, and yeah,
it looks like I don't know if it's his last game.
Looks like he'll be playing in the Big Game super
Bowl on Fox TV with the Eagles and the Chiefs
comes up tomorrow. Remember, Kansas City won the close AFC
Championship game couple weeks back against Buffalo thirty two to
twenty nine. The Chiefs got off to a great start,

(26:30):
which would be hew of them tomorrow going up against
the NFL's number one defense. The Chiefs last game scored
touchdowns on three of their first four drives, led twenty
one to ten late in the first half, and Kansas
City's into the Super Bowl for a third straight year
record of seventeen to two. Case one last game on
a field goal with about three and a half minutes left.
Each team in that game had four touchdowns. Each team

(26:52):
had one field goal, but Kansas City had a two
point conversion while Buffalo missed two two point attempts. Kansas
City has won the last two Super Bowls. The last
NFL team to win three straight championships it has happened
before Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers nineteen sixty five, sixty six,
and sixty seven. In fact, the Green Bay franchise also

(27:12):
won three straight NFL titles from nineteen twenty nine to
thirty one.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin, VJ.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Coming to your life from the tire IRAQ dot com studios.
We're talking about that Luca and ad trade. You said
that if you felt it was a little Lebron burning,
a Lebron moving to Miami, Jersey burning, right. I think
that this is completely and totally justified for Maverick fans

(27:38):
to be not just confused, but outright and objectly furious
over this decision.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (27:46):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
I don't disagree with that. I just think that this
that's how they're acting though there. But the Cleveland fans
had every right, in my opinion, back then, to be
Lebron could have left. I've always said that. I just
always told us this is kind of how you did it.
You kind of left the cities. Hey, and this way
I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
But there's a fundamental difference between almost every other time
we've seen these all pro level, all pro, all NBA
level guys move. The difference is they generally don't want
to be there. They don't Anthony Davis didn't want to
be in New Orleans, you name the rest of them.

(28:22):
Like Lebron left Cleveland after he fulfilled his contract. You
know what I'm saying, didn't re sign. But there is
not in the recent NBA history been a guy who
has the pelts on the wall that Luca Dodgers has
that got traded because he didn't want to be all
the reports. Ay, look a was blindsided by this exactly right,

(28:46):
because yeah, because it was eleven o'clock. He wakes up
and all of a sudden finds out he's moving to La.
Like to me, we always see remember Anthony Davis with
a that's all folks shirt, like we these are drawn out,
these are long. Jimmy Butler wants to get traded. He
sits on the bench for three weeks, right, so he's

(29:06):
like the idea that this this is a shock to
the I believe all the no one knew about this
because because here's the thing you're not telling me. Just
if you think about it in the circular way, the
NBA all works, right. You know what this has a
lot to do with is Kobe Bryant. Nico Harrison was

(29:27):
Kobe's shoe rep. Rob Polinka was Kobe's agent. They have
done millions of dollars worth of business deals together.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
Friends.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
That's how you end up getting the relationship to be like, hey,
don't tell anybody about this and trust that it's actually
going to happen, because if this blows up in their
face with a guy who doesn't want to lead, it's
like if Denver wanted to trade Jokic r if Milwaukee
wanted to trade Gannest.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
And you know, it's like, that's not that. Does it happen?

Speaker 2 (29:58):
The only time I can think it recent history, we
have a pillar of a Francis like this, the rumors
come out. It's last year when there were rumors and
we all threw them in the trash that Stephan Lebron
were trying to team up. We all threw him in
the trash across the board to where Roona Shelberder is
on TV saying no, no, no, God, this is really real.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yeah, this is really real. And this was this was
really real too.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
Uh. The confusion part for me also goes back to now,
let me let me just revisit this, this idea that
nobody knew. I don't buy I buy one hundred percent,
I buy Luca. Didn't know I buy Luca didn't know.
Who's nobody?

Speaker 3 (30:36):
Then? Who are the people that did know?

Speaker 4 (30:37):
I think the Lakers, I think the Laker side new
I think I think a d I think a d
and Lebron. I think a Dan Lebron new I'm not.
You guys already know where I stand on that. It's
firstly with Lebron. They're not making this move without mentioning
it to him. It's just they're not doing it that way.
They're not sorry. I don't have to go through everything.
They don't for him. Everybody already knows. And it was
and there was a report that I read, and you
know me, you're more the report guy.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
I'll believe it.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
And some of the reports just not one hundred percent
of everything. That's always pret it and rent it and
put out that he was he was asked by because
he was asked and it was brought to his attention.
It wasn't a blind side from him, like he didn't
get a text or see it. Oh I've been traded.
He was asked about it. So this is like by
whom win this? I have to go back. I would
just have to go back in and read it.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
And I've seen this. Anthony Davis was blindsided by this. Yeah, well,
like if you show if you have the evidence of
that he was asked and the answer I see, I'll
go back and I'll look it up. I'll try to
I'll try to find a video an article where.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
I saw it.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
But with the confusion part also to me is once
again it just it feels like there's something going on
on the Dallas side there. There's something with Luca or
the front office or Nico or something.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
You just you do not trade a twenty.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
Five year old first team All NBA guy for someone
in their thirties.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
You just it just does not happen. There has to
be but it had been.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
To three hundred and forty five million super match that
he could.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
Have signed for it.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
Okay, maybe, but you gotta kind of pay that because
if you don't pay that, well, you're not gonna pay
that the ad right, So then where are you gonna
actually where are you gonna put this money at? Where
you gonna pay who are you gonna pay this money to?
So it just feels like it's just not as clean
as just those two guys knew about it, and you're
gonna make this deal if your n ego, why are
you trading You're twenty five year old first team All

(32:27):
Pro guy. Now, with all that aside, the way I
see this thing works out Martin is Honestly, it's really
a toss up, especially with Ad going down.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Now.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Now AD's hurt again, but Ad was just hurt, so
he missed five games already, right, So yeah, maybe you
suit up because you know, I just got traded. You
don't want to come here and not play like Luca
today and Lebron sits out today. Neither one of those
guys play. He didn't play also Thursday night and then play.
I believe it was Tuesday night. So three games have
gone by, Luca's not played, and they keeps saying they're
aiming for Monday night, which still tells me could be

(32:55):
something with that CAF cause if he was really ready
to go, they would say, no, we're putting him out
there Monday night. Caps is as good Cap strains gone.
He's ready to rock and roll. I'm really trying to
figure out, man, who did this trade, Who's gonna help
out better in the long run, or just for this year,
for this year. The answer to both is the Lakers
like the answer to both.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
I even for this year.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Yes, I know people are doing a little dance about
Dallas and this year with a D I get it,
because you got to say something about the other side
of the deal, and you don't just want to completely
just bury Nico Harrison right because you want it because
you that's what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
Well, I am, because I think it was one of this.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
We had an argument about this a couple of years
ago when Kyrie first went to Dallas.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
I remember this vividly. We've argued about Kyrie. No, it
was a Kyrie first went to Dallas.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
And I'm not even trying to paint the whole because
you said, you said at the time, this is gonna be.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Why Luca Doncis asked out?

Speaker 2 (33:49):
And I said, and I told you, I said, if
the Dallas Mavericks trade Luca doncs it'd be the stupidest.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Thing we've ever done. We actually got a real argue
because you said, don't say what I say is stupid.
And I remember that vividly.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
Well, I just think it's now that we're here because
Luca didn't ask out, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
It was, But now we know everybody, all the reports
are saying he did not ask out. Two Pluster was four.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
I got you, okay, all right, but all right, I
just find it hilarious that now that we're here, like
you were right that Lucas not on the Mavericks, And
it seems as if I was right because the entire
EMBA world he is ready to burn down to that
point he can't go to the games.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I thought like it was a beef up in security.
Hey like secret service, now that had to beef up
his security.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
And also really, the reason why I say that about
Kyrie is because, and this is about Lucas, we.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Got the Super Bowls tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
I'm not even trying to cut you off, because we
will revisit this top all right in about two hours,
because you will.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Say, why would they make this move? Why would they
do this?

Speaker 2 (34:52):
I have I don't put it on often, but the
Tim Foyl had his coming out, I have a conspiracy.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Oh wow, right me, wow, you you a journalist.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
I have to say a conspiracy classic journalists here, classic?

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Oh my god wow.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
To get to that. It better be wait too, it better.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Be wait until about ten twenty Easter time, because again,
the biggest football game in the world is tomorrow. We're
gonna spend a little bit of time talking about that,
including who is going to be the guy that you
did not see it coming, who takes over yesterday's tomorrow's game,
and you can be like I told you about him.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
I told you about him. Stay tuned to find out
just who that is. Martin White's VJ Husky Fox Sports
Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio, wanting to.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Be there, coming to you a lot from the tire
IRAQ dot com studios.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
VJ.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Let's go ahead and do it. Let's count down our
five biggest X factors in the Super Bowl. Right, So
let's just to be clear, X factors lose term. It
could be people that are very important to the matchup, right,
But let's go ahead and break that down, starting with
number five.

Speaker 8 (36:00):
Number five for.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Me, the fifth biggest X factor for the Kansas City
in this Super Bowl. Juju Smith shoots right. He's gonna
be the guy that's gonna be getting the most single
coverage out there and also a guy that Mahomes trusts
a ton.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
I expect him to go over his receiving prop. It's
only fourteen and a half yards.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
I think he's looking at least three catches, probably forty
some yards, but a key first down.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Hum, all right, I go.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
My fifth is gonna be the hop his his prize
pick prop is eleven and a half yards, so people
not expected much out of him at all.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
So but I think in the red zone though, he
can be.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
Really really good quick slant or fade pattern mahomes with
a pump faking and a fade down. He's bigger than
all the other corners out there that the Philly Hats.
So I put him out there for me. For number five.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
For me, it is going to be devant to Smith
wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. Here's the deal. He's
played against Vix Fangio's defense three times. All three times,
he's at ninety nine yards receiving at minimum, He's at
at minimum six catches. He's had a touchdown at minimum.
He's gonna be I think it'll be solo him on
Trent McDuffie. Think Jalen Hurts. He's adverse to throwing interceptions.

(37:12):
It's not like to throw the ball in the double coverage.
AJ Brown will be the guy getting the double coverage.
That means there's gonna be a lot of wood on
one McDuffie. Smith and Smith can win that matchup. The
Eagles can win this game.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
For number four. For me, you guys know me, man
football one on one? What run the football? Stop the run?
Eagles do it really well, and number three or four
in the league is stopping a run.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
Give me Jalen Carter for my fourth guy to plug
up the middle and also put pressure. I got Pat
Mahomes running and trying to escape the pocket a lot
tomorrow because of just the brute force and the size
that Jalen Carter's gonna be able to use and push
that pocket right up the middle. Remember this Kansas City
line has been digged up a little bit between the
center and guards.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Look for that to be a major fact. So for him,
give me Jaalen Carter.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
I think we're gonna be flopped on this one. I
have Jayalen Carter as number three for very much the
same reason. I think that is everything that he just said.
One personal Philadelphi's defense can completely wreck this game.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
It's him, Yeah, number three for me, Give me the
old guy.

Speaker 9 (38:12):
Give me big play day Slade Junior, if there's a
dB to make him play tomorrow, get a pick and
maybe even at pick six.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
How about this flop? For two years ago, Santi Eagles
are the defense that gets a touchdown. Vicvangel defense crosses
the goal line holding one of these in my hand
right now.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
The picks get football. Give me Darre Slay Junior for
my number three pick.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
As the guy that we're not talking about today, that
we're talking about Monday morning.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Mine's Chris Jones.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
The tous push is the most annoying and unstoppable play
in the NFL. If Chris Jones comes through first or second,
Tous pulls opportunity and puts Jalen Hurts on his ass
three yards back. I tell you what it not only
does this shake the Philadelphia's offensive line, I think it's
shakes Philadelphi's play caller. I do now in second and
eight because it used to be I can go get
a five yard play because you know what, I have

(39:04):
four downs to get one.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
If you only have three, that changes the game a
lot for Philadelphia.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
Number two for me. Man, he's been on the bitch
reading books. Everybody's picking on them, everybody's talking trash. He
was a big problem towards the end of last year.
Had a good Super Bowl two years ago.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
I think A. J.

Speaker 4 (39:19):
Brown has a big game tomorrow. His over under yard
prop bet is seventy one and a half, so Vegas
thinks he's gonna be able to get some yards. I
like him out about eighty to ninety yards receiving tomorrow.
I give me aj Brown to make a big catch
at a big play when Jalen Hurts needs it most.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
My number one X factor is going to be Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
Honestly, if he could play, if he could play like
he did the last Super Bowl, they can win this game.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
If he doesn't, they will not say Kwan Barkley number one.
He will go down if they win the game. The
best free agent pickup in the history of the NFL.
Now Roseman versus Beach? Who's better?

Speaker 1 (39:55):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
That's right?

Speaker 2 (39:59):
And rodcast live from the tire iraq dot com studio. Sorry,
irack dot com, we'll up.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
Do you get that?

Speaker 2 (40:04):
With an unmaxed election, fast free shipping, free road as
of protection, and over ten thousand recommended to this allars
tire i rack dot com.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
It's the way that tire buying should be. On Super
Bowl Saturday. Oh, if you look at that, Clemson up
seventy three to seventy one on Duke, you know my
eyes on it. I've just been quiet about it. That's
what just poke does.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
Well.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
Number one, number one flag, number one at home got handled.
The loss too is slack Florida winning and smack the
hell out of Auburn earlier.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
I got a chance to watch that game. So eighteen
point nine left two point game less. See you know
they're going to Coop.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
I'm about to say to Fla, what you got? They
going to flags? What you got? All fail in this
traveling he slips and falls.

Speaker 4 (40:45):
Blame the turf, Cooper, Man, get some better nikes, Dukee,
blame the turf.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
Look, I'm tired of watching y'all best player shoes mess up.
Dinn't zion bust out of one of them Nikes.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
Get better sneakers in darm You sure did. Cooper's pointing
at the floor, like, how so wet? I don't like you, Blong,
It's not wet. You just got bas shoes you got?
You gotta stop with that on you hear it? Oh?
All right, go ahead, man, All right.

Speaker 2 (41:10):
So gms, the two GMS are the Super Bowl winning
are super Bowl Conference winning teams?

Speaker 3 (41:16):
Is what I'm looking for?

Speaker 2 (41:16):
Super Bowl participants Hawie Roseman and Brett Beach. Now this
was not gonna be something that started the hour for us.
It would be something that was just a peak behind
the curtain. But me and Ian This agreed on this
so vehemently.

Speaker 3 (41:28):
It was so like, you're wrong. I was like, that's
the case. Let's have the conversation in public.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
Who do you think VJ between Harrie Roseman and Brett
Beach is the better GM.

Speaker 4 (41:43):
I think it would be the winning super bowls, putting
together super Bowl winning teams. I mean, you know, I
know last week you discredited Jalen Hurts by saying Philly
has the best roster in football. Okay, well that I
think Kansas City's roster is pretty damn good, and it's
been pretty damn good the last five years. I mean,

(42:06):
they just keep adding player they like, their draft picks,
just keep hitting like their draft picks, keep hitting. Name
a draft pick that didn't hit for them, of a
player that we were really expecting something out of but
we got nothing out of it, right, That's that's not
happening there. But he's the guy that's putting together all
of this and winning super Bowls. I mean, I know
he knows Andy all the way back to reach Philly days.
If I'm not mistaken, Like they go back they both

(42:27):
had Philly Phillys. Yeah, they go back back. So you
know he's been there the whole time putting this thing together.
It's the guy that's getting it done now. Howie Roseman
has done a great job bringing guys in, great job
getting Sakwan bark Mee, great job with his draft pick,
and his drafts have been hitting too, making the trade
for aj Brown, drafting Davonte Smith, you like, his joints
have been hitting too, but he ain't holding lombardi yet,

(42:49):
So the other guy's holding Lombardi's for me.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
I also picked Brett Veach in part because the ability
to retool. If you draft the guy and he hits,
that's a check in the right box. Yeah, but then
you have to make a decision. Right, it's a good decision.
It's a good problem to have. But it's do I
want to make this guy a market setting contract or

(43:13):
do I want to try to piece it together using
other players, using finding ways around it?

Speaker 3 (43:18):
Right?

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Tyreek Hill pre eminent deep threat of the twenty tens. Right,
amdo's saying like the top five deep threat of all time?
Tyreek Hill has them, lets them walk like you think
that's a move generally that should set your franchise back.
He's able to piece it together or she write's second
wide receiver this year, zayre Worthy, first round receiver making

(43:41):
major moments in postseason games. Right, I think we all
most people expect Jay You're worthy not to be an
I mean to be an X factor, but.

Speaker 3 (43:49):
One of the more. I mean, he's the best wide
receiver on the team.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Right, and end up finding these guys in the dragt
letting Lagarious, finding Lagarious Need in the fourth round, moving
off of Lagarious Need at the right time, replacing him
with seventh round cornerbacks like Jalen Watson. I'm like to
me that right there is sustainability. That right there, to
me makes you, in my book, the best GM in
football and defender fighter.

Speaker 6 (44:15):
I to me, it's Howie VJ and I Actually we
were thinking you were gonna say Howie, So I'm a
little surprised.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
But no, your guys' reasoning makes sense.

Speaker 6 (44:22):
And if you're actually stacking them up on like an
all time list, obviously Veach has accomplished more like he's
won more Super Bowl, so you have to put him
ahead of Howie. But if you're just talking about who's
the better football executive. To me, Howie Roseman built the
better Super Bowl roster. And that's that's what the GM does.
The coaching, the on field product doesn't have as much
to do with him. It's just who has the better

(44:44):
roster that you constructed, And to me, how he just
he made a superstar roster. Every single position they have stars.
And he drafts well too. Obviously Veach drafts well. And
this isn't a matter of like when we were saying
this off air too, I'm not trying to say Veach
isn't a good GM. He quite clearly is. He drafted
my Holmes. But I think that's part of it too,
is the fact that you have Andy Reid, you have
Patrick Mahomes. They can mask things that you get wrong

(45:07):
a little bit, if that makes sense. Where As, yeah,
excuse me, you know, with with Howie Roseman, you know,
this is Nick Sirianni, this is Jalen Hurts, guys who
we aren't even necessarily certain that they're elite yet, but
they're here in the Super Bowl. So to me, that's
in large part because of the GM and the rest
of the roster that he's constructed to One of the
best free agent signings ever was Saquon Barkley.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
No, if they will, they, if they went, if they
went tomorrow, it is the greatest free agent signing of
all time because you brought this isn't a guard, this
isn't a tackle, this isn't a rush in a corner,
a lockdown even a lockdown corner. And Deon Sanders was
a free agent signing and went and won a Super
Bowl like twice, and Dion did it twice and he
did it in back to back year. Salath san Fran

(45:49):
won a Super Bowl. Soil with Dallas won a Super Bowl.
Tom Brady about to say acquisition of all times, Tom Brady,
but it's.

Speaker 3 (45:55):
Brady right right now.

Speaker 4 (45:56):
But like this, But Brady was already was already the
goat when he was signed, and he left on his
own like like he had put twenty years in. They
were starting to break New England down, right, So they.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
Both essentially left me was the same reason they didn't
want to get paid and they signed Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
Isn't like a savvy GM move it, No, no, it's not.
It's yeah, no, it was just like it was like
with Denver.

Speaker 4 (46:19):
No no, no, we're not gonna stop there, not yet
to the preside because the whole no, there's only two
teams in the NFL that were even linked to Tom
Brady was a free agent. That's just Bears, which we
found out about a minute ago, and the forty nine ers.

Speaker 2 (46:31):
It would we cannot revision his history. This Tom Brady,
by a lot of people, thought was done. He threw
a pick six to Logan Ryan to end his patriot career, right,
that was I was most I thought a lot.

Speaker 4 (46:41):
Of people thought he was done. It's still tom Brady though,
but we can't say like that. It was still like
just people thought he was done. But Tom picks where
he's going. You don't get Tom when it's like when
magic John says, like when magic just's.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
Envision is history, Like like the entire NFL was not
lining up to sign Tom Brady's not It's not the
entire NFL.

Speaker 3 (47:01):
But I guarantee you at least eight to ten teams were. No,
they weren't. Yeah, I think so it was just not true,
Like there's no set of facts instead of feelings. No no, no, no,
no no no, no, no, no, no, no, We're not
gonna do no, no, no, no, let me talk like,
we're not gonna do who who are the teams then
on Tom Brady.

Speaker 4 (47:15):
We're not gonna do facts and feelings just because we
know the teams on Tom. It's just not just because
it's not out there doesn't mean that they were other people.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
I forget what it signed. Yeah, exactly exactly what team
on Jupiter would have loved to sign that? Well know
the third one. I told you about the third It
was like, there's no reports ever of anybody else.

Speaker 4 (47:33):
But yeah, but to do this report theme Martin, I
don't always go by the dead report, I think, sorry,
but srong enough to.

Speaker 2 (47:40):
Know that other gms would have wanted to sign Tom Brady. Well,
I don't know what to tell you. If you're gonna
sit here and say that where were they So you're
gonna tell you, we're gonna tell me they won at
least six or eight other gms they didn't want to
sign Tom Brady exactly. Okay, Well that's wrong.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
I mean that I do remember there being a short
It was shorter than it should have been. No no, no, no, no,
no no, no how long? No, I don't I don't
have the numbers in front of me. But you're right,
it was, wasn't it.

Speaker 6 (48:05):
It's not like everyone was, you know, trying to bang
on the door to sign everyone would have been a
team and say everyone. The point is, all we're trying
to say is that it wasn't going off on some
huge limb signing Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (48:18):
Like, yes, obviously the entire when won so many Super
Bowls already.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
When the Broncos signed Peyton Manning, he had a reconstructured neck.
Yeah that was this, Yeah, has done and he picked
Tom Brady went to Tampa, a team that had won nothing.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
Well, he wasn't done because he went out and broke
the touchdown record his first year there.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
Okay, so he wasn't done. And the rest of the NFL,
like I said, initially, was done with him. They were done.

Speaker 3 (48:50):
It was Chicago, it was San Francisco, and it was Tampa.

Speaker 8 (48:55):
That was that.

Speaker 3 (48:56):
I agree with you, Ian, I think he's the greatest.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
Of course, I think that's an easy one far as
the free agent sign of Tom Brady's the goat at
the time, But Sakuon Barkley is I mean, I'd be
hard pressed to even make him a top ten all
time running back, right now he's a great running back.
He had a great season, but I don't I wouldn't
put him up there as far as like top ten
running backs of all time, like right at this second,
tom Brady. Tom Brady was considered the goat when he
made that move, he was already the best that there was.

(49:20):
But but if Philly wins this tomorrow, and a lot
of it is because they rolled the dice and went
and signed a running back when people thought. Martin and
I did a show two years ago where running backs, well,
Austin Eckler winning Aulstin Eckler that had the hole to
zoom with all the running backs because nobody acting like
they wanted to pay one or that they wanted a
running back. Here this guy comes in and you know

(49:41):
he's in the Super Bowl in his first year. He
goes off tomorrow. I think it's over runners, like one
hundred and twelve and a half. He goes off tomorrow
and they win this thing and he wins Super Bowl MVP.
I think that fights with right there with tom Brady.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
I don't know if it puts him over tom Brady,
but it puts him right there as far as greatest
free agent signings ever done.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
But back to the topic of hand of the two jeems.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
The only thing that separates it from me Ian All
your points are perfect, all your points are fine, They're
one hundred. But the one thing that separates it is
one guy has a bunch of Lombardies, though any other
guy doesn't. That's the only thing that separates it from me.

Speaker 3 (50:12):
I forgot.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
It wasn't the forty nine ers. It was the Los
Angeles Chargers, and it's very buccaneers. The two free agent
offers that Tom Brady received from the eight to ten
teams allegedly that we're interested in it.

Speaker 3 (50:24):
We have breaking news before we go to break.

Speaker 5 (50:25):
The Lakers are not getting Charlotte center Mark Williams after all.
The team just announced their trade has been rescinded due
to quote failure to satisfy a condition of the deal.
This guy was being traded this seven footer from Duke
in exchange for the Lakers' recent first round guard Dalton
connect from the University of Tennessee. Williams has averaged in

(50:50):
his three years with Charlotte twelve points eight rebounds a game.
No trade, as it turns out, which I think had
the trade deadline pass. Could I just say out loud, now,
what for a big man for the Lakers back to you?

Speaker 3 (51:04):
That's awkward? For connect and serious, that's That's the first
thing that comes in my mind is don't connect.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
I was about to be irritated, so I was like,
why is Steve breaking into tell us the number two
team in the nation just lost?

Speaker 3 (51:13):
Like that is an update where like what they're not
making the test? That wow?

Speaker 5 (51:18):
Wow wow reference. Yes, Duke just lost to Clemson.

Speaker 3 (51:23):
Wow. And I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (51:25):
And first thing that pops in my mind is, wow,
don't connect because remember everybody, everybody loved, everybody loved don't
connect everybody.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
I love the story. Everybody, everybody loved him here in
l A.

Speaker 4 (51:34):
And they traded that kid as fast as they could
and now they have to go sorry might like might Bay, Hey, hey, bro,
come here, my bad listen like what happened?

Speaker 3 (51:42):
Let me tell you what happened with com down Hey
dk dk DK come here, relax. I want to ask
for so much more money, like you guys just to
take me back dog add some more? I need more zero? Yeah,
Well they can't do he can't do that. He's a
can't do it. Right, do it right now. I'll tell
you what the contract negotiations down the line is ntent.

(52:05):
He's out of here. He'll he'll never resign that Crazzy
I didn't even think about. And like Steve just said,
so for big man for the Lakers. Now what I'm
looking I.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
Just quickly googled, like buy out market you're looking at
like Tory Craig.

Speaker 3 (52:20):
No right, I mean, this is this is how one
guy and then and then stuttered. I mean because he's
got no one.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
I wasn't about to seriously say Ben Simmons exactly out loud.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
He's he's already agreed to go to the Clippers.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
Well twenty seconds ago, Mark Williams was a Lakers, So
I don't know what the hell I believe in that the.

Speaker 4 (52:40):
TV here, Mark Stein is throwing it up there right there.
Lakers just announced their trade with Charlotte.

Speaker 8 (52:44):
The choir.

Speaker 2 (52:44):
Mark Williams has been recitting like Daniel Tice, I know
he got bought? Did he did he sign with the
thunder or something like that? I think that's over.

Speaker 4 (52:51):
But listen, this is what this is what we normally
do with superstars that we like. When everybody that supposedly
the Lakers can get his guy as a guy that's
gonna come in and do it.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
I don't give a damn about Lebron or who I like.
They legit made a move to get a big no exact,
that's the operation. I've been understanding the entirety of it. Now,
you told me ten seconds ago, they don't. Like Steve
said at the end of his thing, it's the trade.
That line's over you now because when the deal was made,
everyone said this team is very incomplete. Then you make
the deal for Mark Williams. That is like, Oh, if

(53:21):
he can stay healthy, this team's a real threat. Now
it goes back to, oh, this team is really incomplete.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
Did you think they were a real threat when they
got when they got Mark, if Mark Williams could have
stayed healthy.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
I watched Luca get to the Western win the West
with Daniel Gafford and Derek Lively being the big man
and PJ. Washington and Kyrie on the wings. PJ Hot
take Lebron better than PJ Washington, Like, that's my tap.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
So if you had told me that, yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:50):
You're gonna get a rim running center who can stay held, Like,
who could give you twenty five to thirty minutes a game.
Who could play, you know, be out there consistently. I
would have liked the chances in the West against most
of the field. I wouldn't put him the favorite, but
I would have put him against most of the field
without that cool cancel Christmas, I.

Speaker 6 (54:08):
Think Mavericks fans just saw the words trade rescinded and
got really really excited for.

Speaker 3 (54:13):
This brutal.

Speaker 4 (54:17):
I think that's only the third time that Steve the
Sager has laughed out loud during our show. Yes, so
you're you're in the list with me, buddy. We got
we got missed the sagre to break, which is very,
very hard.

Speaker 5 (54:27):
Hayes is suddenly gonna have to be more than he's been. Yeah,
they're stuck with their current roster.

Speaker 3 (54:32):
You want to talk about accidentally becoming important at work?

Speaker 2 (54:36):
Yeah, Like I mean, Jackson Hayes was sitting back like, yes,
they traded for Mark Williams.

Speaker 3 (54:41):
I'm back to fifteen minutes a game at most. He's
gonna be like, he's gotta play. They all gotta play.

Speaker 5 (54:47):
And the Lakers have been great for three four weeks now,
but we're talking about actually doing something and maybe getting
a top four seed into April, avoiding the play in
yet again, which seems likely. I'll just say that out loud.

Speaker 3 (54:59):
I'm with I'm with you, there, I'm with you.

Speaker 6 (55:00):
There.

Speaker 3 (55:01):
They won't be in the play They're in the third now.

Speaker 5 (55:03):
In the Lost Cockets, people were actually expecting them to
do something once the playoffs started, assuming that they had
a big.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
Well see, because here's the deal.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
Not having a big essentially eliminates you from doing anything.
Because as soon as Saturday night, last Saturday night, when
the trade got made, I made KI is going to
average eighty five and thirty five in their playoffs.

Speaker 5 (55:23):
Well, you remember when the Lakers had Anthony Davis and
he got hurt originally a couple of weeks ago. The
next quarter, the opponent scored almost fifty points.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
Yeah. Period, there's no rim protection.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
So like, defensively, I thought it was going to be
a wash, but I thought they'd be able to score enough.
Luca can and they're gonna play slow as all can
be because they got Luca and forty year old Lebron.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
So maybe they the lower possessions in the game.

Speaker 5 (55:44):
Right, because they're going to be taking the first sixteen
seconds out of every possession, arguing who gets the ball right.

Speaker 2 (55:50):
Well also too, last two games, Lakers jump out the
big twenty point leads and teams get back in and
one of those leads down a lot of layups, a
lot of back door cuts, a lot of easy baskets,
and they don't have anybody at the rim that can
consistently protect the rim. Lebron just stands down there on
the block and you can walk right by him almost drops.

Speaker 5 (56:05):
And again no details, but it's the Lakers words that
the trade with the Hornets was rescinded due to the
Hornet's failure to satisfy a condition of the trade standing.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
By So, I mean, you know, I'm not a Hornet side.
He couldn't have cleared his physical right, that's the only thing.

Speaker 5 (56:24):
What, Yeah, because the future draft choice with that, the.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
Draft draft draft is not to be regardless and Mark
Mark Williams was the only guy coming up coming over right.

Speaker 5 (56:34):
And yeah, there is a minimum salary of there's stuff
that could be worked out involved and a player who
gets hurt, So it seems more like the player.

Speaker 3 (56:44):
Well, that's what happens when you trade guys that are.

Speaker 5 (56:45):
Hurt, especially for a team that as we say, needs
a big this this is a hole in the lineup.

Speaker 3 (56:51):
I mean, I have nobody to go get. Now, there's
nobody to go get.

Speaker 2 (56:55):
Seriously, I just am scrolling through this athletic article of
NBA buy out market tiers and the answer is no one,
no one. Like literally, the answer is no one. Cam Reddish, oh,
familiar with Los Angeles at least?

Speaker 3 (57:10):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (57:11):
Like there's two rebounds a game as a Laker?

Speaker 3 (57:14):
Sure, all right, but I mean I mean if PJ.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
Tucker's been on the couch all year, Like, who's Tory
Craig is thirty four years old? Daniel Tice just sign
with somebody. I think even if he didn't, he's still
none of these guys.

Speaker 5 (57:27):
Haslam still available anyone? No?

Speaker 3 (57:29):
H Yeah.

Speaker 4 (57:30):
And also to a number I'll give you guys right now.
Lakers rebounding in the league right now, in twenty seventh
in the NBA.

Speaker 5 (57:36):
So yeah, that would include Davis exactly.

Speaker 4 (57:41):
But it happened exactly, and that include having Anthony Davis.
So no one else gets on the glass there.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
Man, You want to talk about letting the wind out
of the sails in Los Angeles, So.

Speaker 5 (57:52):
They need Jared Vanderbilt to guard every position.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
Now we don't have to get out there first.

Speaker 5 (57:57):
That'll be a big please, rebounding guard everybody.

Speaker 3 (58:00):
He played the other night.

Speaker 4 (58:01):
But I mean it was consistently, you know, you know,
all right, JJ, you're on Buddy, Coach Reddick, you're on VJ.

Speaker 3 (58:08):
You're onto something here because he.

Speaker 5 (58:10):
Could use a plumber and a fireman right now.

Speaker 4 (58:13):
Ah, he's here every Wednesday night, Ladies and gentlemen. Ladies
and gentlemen, Steve, I need.

Speaker 3 (58:23):
Help in the middle.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
Anybody play as That's a great cool But both the
guys's points. I understand that the Mark Williams trade didn't happen.
I don't think that is going to limit the expectations
of people around here at all. I think the expectations
as soon as you trade for Lucas, I mean the expectations.

Speaker 5 (58:46):
They've seen him win without the last few weeks exactly.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
Like especially, this is one of those places the basketball team,
they view it like a college football team where.

Speaker 3 (58:55):
It's unreasonable you're supposed to win every year.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
So when you trade for a guy Luka Doncis, who
was the focal point of a champion with guys who
were just also rans outside of Kyrie Irvin, who's on
the wrong side of thirty.

Speaker 4 (59:09):
It's like, well, no, no, no, drag this team too, guys.
People expect the Lakers here in LA. From people I
talk to at the arena this week, they people expect
LA to win, to compete for a championship. Like right now.
Mark Williams was like, I know, I get it, but
like you said, trading for Luca, people expect LA to
get to the to win and compete NAT.

Speaker 2 (59:30):
And I wasn't there. I wasn't there at all. Now
of the Luca trade, you had a healthy Mark Williams. Okay, Now,
now you're really dealing with the tox year to top
five roster in the West, the top four roster in
the West, because you have to you know, all everything,
and then you have the rope side.

Speaker 3 (59:49):
They didn't have a body that through out there.

Speaker 4 (59:51):
They don't have anybody to guard Luke, I mean guard Joker.
Think about they have to play Denver in the playoffs
and they have nobody to guard Joker.

Speaker 5 (59:57):
Mark Williams was the defensive player of the Year in
the ACC. Yeah, dude, this was a seven footer who
we all thought, wow, he's gonna have an NBA career
because he can be eight to ten rebounds a game.
And sure enough, that's what he's been already. He just
needs to be on the court ball.

Speaker 4 (01:00:11):
And surprise when he came out. Remember when he came out,
people were like wow, and he got drafted. It was
like wow, this smart will. But people were very high
on Hey, he could be a defender. He could come
in and play defense right now. You don't have You
can play defense right now in the NBA. If you're
that big, you can defend the rep.

Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
And guess what if you if you are seven. If
he's all and can play defense, Guests, congratulations, you're gonna
score twelve points a game. Yeah, because Luca Dons is
gonna throw you the ball right about the rim. You
could you could just don't go with you else.

Speaker 5 (01:00:32):
Everybody was looking forward to that in LA. Honestly, that
got mentioned multiple times this.

Speaker 3 (01:00:36):
Week because I'm legit. I just had visions and I
know we gotta go to break just a minute. I'm sorry,
the NBA wred walk shut up.

Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
So I just had visions literally of just a transposing
Luca into the Lakers jersey, watching that pick and roll
with he and Mark Williams lob threat, and I just thought,
you know what, I kept thinking. I was like, you know,
there's a there's Kyrie better than Austin Reeves, but Lebron
James is so much better than whoever he was kicking
to in the corner. Imagine just Lebron in the corner

(01:01:04):
on that on that pick and roll with Luca like that,
right there is gonna win you a lot of games,
which is why would make the argument, Hey, I like
this team against almost everybody, but like an OKC, now
cancel that.

Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
They're still too young. Okay, see's still too young. I
would have I would have pitched, okay, knocked them off.

Speaker 4 (01:01:22):
Also switched that though Lebron on the pick and roll,
Luca standing in the corner, just switched.

Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
I won wholeheartedly and fully believed that Luca Dantis is
going to have a usage rate out of this world
for the Lakers, and Lebron will finally be off the ball.

Speaker 5 (01:01:35):
And there's still a possibility of an April playoff series
to open the postseason of side five seed Lakers and
six seed Dallas. Yeah, I need that somewhere around the
middle four five x three.

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
We need that in his business. But this is the
first time, and we'll break right after this.

Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
This is the first time in Lebron's career, probably since
he was I don't know eleven, that he's not the
best player on this team.

Speaker 3 (01:01:58):
That is not even an argum. It's not a conversation. Still,
you thought he was better than Ad. I think it
was a conversation.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
I think it was, especially when you look at It's
kind of the same thing that that the plagues Giannis
a little bit in that he doesn't have Anthony Davis,
does not have the prerepresent guard skills all the time
to be able to get your own shot late game situations,
late fourth quarters situation like late shot clock situations, when
you got somebody with six seconds up, I could pass
you the ball anywhere and you can break down and

(01:02:25):
get a quality shot. I think that I value that
more than I value a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:02:29):
I thought Ad was the best player in the Lakers
the last three year.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
But still you would have found the You would have
found people that would have told you I still think
Lebron is. You won't find no one who says that
Lebron is better than Luca. Right now, I'm still finding
those people. You have to spend less time on the internet.

Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
No, it's not that.

Speaker 4 (01:02:48):
Don't don't play me like that. I don't like I
don't talk to people and stuff. Man, don't don't don't.

Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
Play me like that.

Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
I just can't imagine that anybody. There's there's people, all right,
we just talk about people down there at Stable center in.

Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
The media room.

Speaker 4 (01:02:59):
Listen, man, there are people still tay Lebron James is
a top five player in this league.

Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
Well there's yeah, there were people who still say that.
Well okay, but in the face, all right, all right,
that's fine. But who says that Luca's not a top
top three Like I'm saying, you won't find anybody that
says that Luca is not you will I don't think
you find anybody says Lebron's better than Luca.

Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
Don't interesting interesting times in LA now, man? Yeah? Man? This?

Speaker 5 (01:03:25):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
This thansty for that?

Speaker 5 (01:03:26):
That just man, Why don't we just do the update
before the break and then you'll have a whole segment
to yourself.

Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
There is Seve kidding, that's why you're the best in
the business. Man.

Speaker 5 (01:03:34):
Orlando just won on a late shot one twelve, one
eleven over the Spurs. The Hawks Trey Young thirty five
points fourteen assists in a win at the Wizards one
twenty five one eleven. Lakers did beat Indiana one twenty
four one seventeen Austin Reeves forty five points. The reason
we're still talking Lakers is tonight they're trade for Charlotte center.
Mark Williams was rescinded. Lebron James was out today with

(01:03:58):
a sore ankle. Luka Donsich. Could they be Monday for
LA and Dallas beat Houston won sixteen one oh five.
Anthony Davis, in his MAV's debut, had twenty six points,
but left with an apparent abdominal injury. He says it's
not serious. Number one Auburn beaten at home by six
th rank Florida and College Hoops ninety to eighty one.
Clemson has beaten Number two Dukes seventy two to seventy one,
and the Eagles activated defensive end Brandon Graham.

Speaker 3 (01:04:20):
Back to you, thanks Steve.

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):

Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
Did NFL voters get it wrong?

Speaker 7 (01:04:44):
Well?

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
What actually, let's phrase it. Which set of NFL rooters
got it wrong? Because this don't make no damn sense.
Steve de Sager just told me in my ear it was,
in fact a failed physical for Mark Williams, which is
why hopefully he has not sent that letter to the
landlord yet and he's going back to Charlotte Dalton connect.

(01:05:06):
He just got here a couple months ago, so his
lease is still going. He should be able to just hey,
can I get the keys back?

Speaker 7 (01:05:11):
Nah?

Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
The LA moves fast, man. They I watched people move
in and out of my building all the time. It
happens fast. Brother, You just gotta find somewhere.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
New to live well, and to be honest, if you're
in LA, it's no sense in looking for an apartment
unless you're ready to buy an apartment or you know,
put the money down that moment, because it's a waste
of time. All right, now, DJ, I don't think I'm
stepping out of a stepping out of turn when I
say I'm probably the more rigidly logical person on the show.

(01:05:41):
Oh god, all right, yeah, go ahead. I'm not even
gonna battle that.

Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
So when I mean, one of my favorite things to
say is two plus two equals for because a lot
of times I think it's that simple. So when I
saw that Josh Allen won the NFL MVP, it's like,
wait a minute, this don't make no damn sense. And
the only reason it doesn't make any sense to me

(01:06:09):
because if you're gonna have Lamar Jackson be the first
team All Pro quarterback, I'm old enough to think.

Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
I mean, I'm on less. Remember when first team when
All Pro met like that?

Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
Look the first team All Pro that's supposed to be
the twenty two plus special teams guys that if you
could pick anybody in the NFL at any position, that'd
be the first guy.

Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
You pick second team the second guy.

Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
Right to build out what is essentially the All Star
team of the NFL, you post somebody first.

Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
Team on Pro that means had the best year at
that position.

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
So How is it that all my TV screen was
Thursday night I watched Josh Allen get up and walk
and accept the MVP trophy. That's what I say, because
logically that's two plus two equaling five. We're denying gravity.

Speaker 3 (01:07:05):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:07:06):
If this is the case, I'm confused though, because you
argued with me for two straight weeks over say Kuan
or Lamar being the m v P that it should
have been Josh Allen. Josh Allen was in the clubhouse leading.
I told you, yeah, this is gonna end up being
a sympathy pick. But now I don't I don't like
what's the term voter voter Fatigueyeah, but don't I don't
know if that's a real thing. I don't vote. I

(01:07:27):
don't get a vote for anything. No, they don't like
me that much in this business yet, so I don't
get I don't get to vote on anything.

Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
I don't get to pick anything. That's that's fine, but.

Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
It felt it felt more like, you know, man, he
came up short again right against Pat Mahomes, who beats everybody,
and he's had this this, he's that this great year,
and he turned and he got the turnovers down, which.

Speaker 4 (01:07:51):
I'll say, yeah, you're supposed to get the turnovers down.
You're the damn quarterback. You're not supposed to lead the
league at turnovers. That's not a good thing.

Speaker 3 (01:07:58):
So getting him down, it's like what you're supposed to do.
It's like a.

Speaker 4 (01:08:01):
Kid getting a good report from a teacher, like one
every eight days. Well, you don't get a chance to
brag about this when you get home because you're supposed
to behave in class.

Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
You don't get no points for that. That's what you're
supposed to do.

Speaker 4 (01:08:13):
So I am It felt it felt like the sympathy pick, like, ah, man, wow,
he had this year and he just couldn't get there again.

Speaker 3 (01:08:23):
But he beat Lamar Jackson, you.

Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
Know, a week earlier than he got a limited even
though the regular season is supposed to be the Warriors
about when they head to head in the regular season,
Lamar Jackson beat him also four thousand yards plus passing
nine hundred plus Russian, first time that's ever been done
in NFL history. So it just felt like, you know, hell,
if there's a year to give it to him, let's
give it to him this year. That's what it felt
like to me, to be honest with you, Mark, I

(01:08:47):
don't have no beef about it because I had a
feeling he was gonna win it, and about.

Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
Three weeks after said, you know what, you were ready
for it, so it didn't hit you like they shouldn't
give it to Josh this year because they're they're you know,
they feel sorry. This is my beef with it, though
I agree with you, you're right.

Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Week thirteen fourteen, I had, but that's a conversation that
I'm having here as a thought exercise. He didn't Eve
went off it'sive player of the year, because that's the conversation,
as a thought exercise.

Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
I was happy.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
But to me, it's intellectually dishonest for me to name
quote unquote who's gonna be the most Valuable Player of
the Year until the year's over. Like the year has
to end before I can tell you that this guy
should be the vpeer, this guy should be ahead of
this guy in the MVP race, Like I don't love
the whole Oh, we gotta take a look at the

(01:09:37):
MVP race in week ten, because it doesn't freaking matter.
All right, it's a very Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday conversation on
sports television. And let me tell you something I pay
my rent and producing sports television. It's because there's nothing
else to talk about. Those are the days where NFL
teams are talking. There's no media, so that's what you
have to create things like power rankings and all of

(01:09:58):
this type of stuff. When I sit back and look
at the whole season, to me, there wasn't a more
valuable player in the NFL than Sekwon Barkley. When I
sit back and look at tolistically, when I look at
the teams from where they were at the end of
this season compared to the end of last season. What

(01:10:18):
happened in the three hundred and sixty five days from
last week seventeen eighteen to this week eighteen excluding the playoffs,
the biggest edition, the most valuable edition with Sakwon Barkley.
Josh Ada had a hell of a year. He didn't
turn the ball over. That was the only thing that
was the biggest knock on him was he turned the
ball over. He limited it turned, didn't turn the ball

(01:10:41):
over at all.

Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
You know what that means to me? He was the
offensive player of the year. That he was the offensive
player of.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
The year to me because the Bills got I mean,
how much better holistic did they get. I get that
they lost Toefon Diggs who ended up getting hurt. Oh,
they moved off from Kay Davis, who was a no
show all season, right, but Diggs was on the wrong
side of thirty, Like I just and I get that
old Lamar Jackson got Derek Henry added to his backfield.

(01:11:12):
But when I just look at the Eagles, look where
they are now and look where they were then and
point out the difference, it's just all due respect to
the rookies in the bat defensive backfield, it's Saquon Barkley,
And so yeah, sure, maybe throughout the season I may
have had a differing opinion so on and over, But

(01:11:32):
like when it was all said and done, when all
the dust settled, when all the results were in, the
guy who was one hundred and seventeen yards away from
breaking the single season rushing record, and also completely and
totally like revitalize the team that had gone on a
ten game losing streak to end the season, and also
held together a team that we saw fracture last year

(01:11:54):
at the moment several different moments they could have fractured.
I think they didn't because of Saquon to me, he
should been the MVP and we got to stop with this.

Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
Just because it's a quarterback, they win it. Yeah, it's
a quarterback award also too really fast. Bills preseason win
total Vegas ten and a half. Eagles win total Vegas
ten and a half. So the Bills did what they
were what they were kind of picked to do.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
Like people narratively had the Bills falling up, I didn't
see it. A lot of people had them missing the
playoffs because they lost digs and so on and moved
on from God. But a lot of times we do
this because teams move off from guys we know, right. Hell,
people thought Kansas was gonna fall off when Tyreek Hill
left jerryus Sneed left right because we know those guys.

Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
You know what they do, They just replace them with
the next folks, honey badger, right, guys.

Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
You know what a lot of people have had issues with, though,
is the fact that Alan got MVP and Lamar got
First team All Pro.

Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
It doesn't make sense. It's intellectually incongruentus. That's how you
can tell it's a sympathy pick, dude. That's how you
could tell because.

Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
You didn't even do the same people, and I don't know.
I know Mark probably knows this better than dude. Do
the same people both? Okay, So the same people that
vote for the all pro teams vote for the.

Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
So that's why is generally a predictor of who's gonna
win the MVP.

Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
Right, you're telling me that Josh Allen was the second
best quarterback but also the most valuable player. I just
have trouble mixing those two ideas together, especially when I
feel like it was anybody from the NFC was eliminated
by week seven.

Speaker 4 (01:13:25):
Yeah, and it was just it was just Josh Allen
and pretty much Lamar Jackson. It's a quarterback award because
people make it a quarterback award. Sakwon Barkley to me,
was the most valuable player in the NFL this season.

Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
And I don't think that that is honestly a ridiculous
or hot take opinion, and real quick to put a
cap on.

Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
I know we're running late. That I ain't ever seen.

Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
He told Colin Cowhard she was down there in New Orleans.
She was deliberating over her vote. She said that overwhelmingly
the player she asked said it was Saquon. Well, that's
Worth coming up back to play a game of Who
you Got? Super Edition in We're ready, are you? It's
the big game, Martin VJ. Fox Sports Radio. It's Super

(01:14:08):
Bowl weekend and it's time now for a game of
Who you Got? Martin VJ coming to you live from
you tire rack dot Com Studios.

Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
Now it's time. My bad, I should have my headphones on.
That's on me. All right? Who you Got? So we
all know the rules by this time.

Speaker 6 (01:14:22):
This is the super Bowl edition, though, this is out
of a pool of players who they've they've played in
the super Bowl. Okay, so I'm gonna I'm thinking of
a player here that has played in the Super Bowl,
and uh yeah, each clue is supposed to help broad.

Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
So it's not Eagles and cheese.

Speaker 4 (01:14:38):
It's just someone that's played in the Super Bowl exactly, alright, you,
Gene Robinson, No incorrect?

Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
Do you know who that is?

Speaker 6 (01:14:44):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (01:14:45):
Safety from the Atlanta Falcons that got in trouble for
trying to buy a prostitute in the Denver Bronco Super
Bowl in Miami.

Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
Let's played later that day and then play and then
played two days later.

Speaker 6 (01:14:55):
All right, let's jump in I'll scrambling here in the notes,
but I got it now. So first clue, this guy
is a two time pro bowler, one time All.

Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
Pro, one time All Pro, two time Pro bowler. Peve
Smith No, Malcolm Butler.

Speaker 3 (01:15:10):
No, al right.

Speaker 6 (01:15:12):
Next, he played for three different NFL franchises over an
eight year career.

Speaker 3 (01:15:20):
Eight year career.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
Wait, three franchises, three teams, eight years, three teams eight years.

Speaker 10 (01:15:28):
Ah Plexical Burds, Nope, Plax Julius Peppers, Nope, Nope. No
bad guesses so far. But next up, this guy. He's
played in one Super Bowl, so that's it. He's been
in one. He finished with two catches for forty six yards.

Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
Two catches forty six yards. Is this Desmond Howard No
sants home, Neil Holmes?

Speaker 6 (01:16:01):
No, he was a fourth round draft pick out of
Florida State, Marvin Menace.

Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
No work done. No, you know what you know what
it is?

Speaker 6 (01:16:15):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
I got it, I got it, I got it. No, No, no,
you know what it is. I bet you.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
I bet you it's a running back. I bet you
it's a running back with two catches for forty six yards.

Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
Slick.

Speaker 6 (01:16:26):
Here's the next clue. I told you he had forty
six receiving yards in his Super Bowl. He also had
eleven carries for seventy five yards in a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
Told you told you it was a running back. One
All Pro, two Pro Bowl, three eight year, three teams
through all. Davis didn't play for three teams. You go
to Florida State, Doak Walker? No, he probably played before
the Super Bowl era.

Speaker 6 (01:16:53):
Throw Travis Minor No, No, not bad guesses. Well throw
another one out there. He co led the NFL in
rushing touchdowns in twenty fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
DeVonta Freeman.

Speaker 11 (01:17:04):
DeVonta Freeman is correct, well done. Wow, Wow, DeVonta Freeman,
you're speechless. I am one Super Bowl league played in
was with the Atlanta Falcons. Yeah and yeah, so that
was the next clue. He was on the losing side
of one of the most infamous Super Bowl in history. Yeah,

(01:17:24):
the twenty eight to three. Sorry Falcons fans. And he's
been teammates with Julio Jones, Matt Ryan, Devin Hester. There's
a lot of big names here that he's been teammates with.

Speaker 6 (01:17:33):
That.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Uh, that Florida State team was one of the best
teams of college football history. Jameis Winston famous Jamis aka
crab Legs. You guys, remember they that day they had winfield.
They Oh my god, that team was crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:17:46):
Remember they're down in that National Championship game and then
the freshman kick returner takes it back one hundred and
one yards and turns that game all the way around
for James to come back and win that game.

Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Tom Brady twenty eight to three.

Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
I tell you what, I don't know what was in
me that Super Bowl, but when they were down twenty
eight to three, I was like, hell, yeah, let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:18:07):
Never once in my life rooting for the Falcons, it
never said to have.

Speaker 6 (01:18:10):
I just think I was almost gonna do Julio Jones,
which obviously big name there, but I was thinking because
a fun clue for him was that he actually has
been teammates with Tom Brady, Devin Hester I mentioned that
with Devonte Freeman. He's been teammates with Tony Gonzalez. There's
just all these random NFL legends that because because Julio
Jones played on the Buccaneers, was absolutely yes for that

(01:18:32):
one year, so he teammates with Tom Brady. He played
for the Titans one year, so he was teammates with
like AJ Brown. There's just all these fun little guys.

Speaker 3 (01:18:40):
Also with that Super Bowl man.

Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
The biggest missthrow, in my opinion, the biggest missthrow and
one of in NFL history, is the third and eight
where Matt Ryan sells it over Julio Jones on the ten.

Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
Yard out route. He catches that ball, it's a first down.

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
The Patriots don't get the ball back, and Kyle Shanahans
has such a different and he I get it. He
gets blamed for that game. But they're misses by players.
They're misses by players. I hate when coaches get blamed
for a player not completing the play. And Matt Ryan
missed that thing.

Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
He hits that throw ninety nine out of one hundred times,
and on that play, that ball just saying Julio is open.

Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
First down, They keep the ball, the Patriots don't get
the ball back and win the game. DeVonta Freed, how
about that stealing the fourth round? I know, right coming
up next Super Bowl picks and props for the Big Game.
Let's make some money. Everybody don't listening to sports radio radio.

(01:19:43):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
The broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios
Tirack dot com up. You get that with an unmaxed election,
fast free shipping, free road as a protection. Over ten
thousands are recommended to this dollars tire iraq dot com.
It's the way that tire buying should be. It is
the suit super Bowl. We are knocking on the door
of that event. It'll be tomorrow, thank god. Two weeks

(01:20:06):
between the Super Bowl is completely totally unnecessary for Martin
Weiss at least. I don't know how much you guys
were into the Pro Bowl games, but that's the first
Sunday of the year.

Speaker 3 (01:20:15):
I'm hey, babe, you want to go shopping. Yeah, you
want to let's call it the dinner. What do you say?
I didn't watch any of it, and you know it
was on brunch. Sounds great. Yeah, And in January you're
going to do some math problems, catch up on your
Harry Potter readings. And so.

Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
We didn't make any picks for the Pro Bowl, but
we are going to make some Super Bowl picks here
with the sordid prop Betsy, and I hope you've collected
a bunch, because that's all we've got.

Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
Let's go ahead, without further ado.

Speaker 2 (01:20:46):
The Super Bowl Final edition of the NFL season, It's
time to make some picks.

Speaker 6 (01:20:53):
All right, there's the music, Thank you Mary so super
Bowl props here, so we'll end well, the last one
we'll do is we're pick in the actual game. So
we'll kind of build up until your guys actual picks
for who you think is gonna win. And it actually
is pretty much a pick him because's the Chiefs only
favored by one point. So excited to see what you
guys have there.

Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
But let's start with this.

Speaker 6 (01:21:12):
Jalen Hurts passing yards and all these lines are just
by prize picks right now. It's where I grab them from,
So get mad at them if you don't agree with it.

Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
And you know what, if you'd like to be the sponsor,
we'll use your lines. Sure we'll call us up, Sure will.
We can be bought anyway.

Speaker 6 (01:21:29):
Jalen Hurts passing yards two hundred and thirteen and a
half is where the line is.

Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
Right now, what do we think we'll start with? Uh,
we'll start with VJ.

Speaker 4 (01:21:38):
You guys know how I feel about my man, Jay Hurts.
He's done me well all year long, He's done me
well since has been in the NFL. On all my
prize picks that I do, and in the NFC Championship game,
I had his one ninety one. I think it was
a one ninety ninety five.

Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
Whatever was over two hundred. Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
So it's the Super Bowl. Man, he's gonna play really
well tomorrow. He's not gonna have a bad game. Guys,
He's gonna play very very well. Give me the over
on this two thirteen and a half because I already
know where this gentleman is going, and I'm gonna make
this a little interesting. I have a nice little gap
here with our picks leading to this game. I'll take
the over two thirteen and a half. I think he
gets it easy. I think it's about two thirty two

(01:22:13):
forty tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:22:14):
Actually, you don't know where I'm going. I'm taking the
over here as well.

Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
The Eagles do not win games in which in playoffs
and which Jalen Hurts throws from more than one hundred
and fifty yards. Why because they don't want to throw
the ball. They want to run the ball. More often
than not, they'll be down in this game. He's gonna
have to throw the ball a ton, and I might
just spoiled who I'm picking to win this thing, I'll
take over.

Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
Jalen Hurts pressing. You're about to say, you just gave
it away. Who you're picking? Listen to me the all
year I gave it away. We'll get the reasoning later though.

Speaker 6 (01:22:39):
Anyway, Next up the other sides, quarterback Patrick Mahomes two
hundred and fifty two point five passing yards.

Speaker 4 (01:22:46):
What do we think, fellas uh Man, This one to
me is, see the thing is the overs and a
minus one seventy five, right, so you gotta bet you
got a better one hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
You know, it's to make a little bit, to make a.

Speaker 4 (01:23:00):
Little bit of money back here, I'm gonna go on
the under. I really do think that the Eagles defense
gonna put it pressure on Them's the number one passing
defense in football, guys, and they don't have a superstar
bona fide one receiver. They got a tight end and
Kelsey grat they got some other guys that have done
well in the league. And they got a rookie that's
never played in the game like this before, not even
in college. He's never played in the championship game. So

(01:23:23):
and give me the under on this two fifty two
and a half. I think they're gonna run the football
and figure they got to get the ball out on
the perimeter a little bit on this Eagles defense, I'll
take the under on the two fifty two for Pat Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
On quick count, looks like he's only hit over two
fifty five or six times this season.

Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
I'm taking under as well. I just don't see a
lot of big plays being made by the Kansas City's offense.

Speaker 2 (01:23:49):
It's gonna be methodical, gonna be a lot of third
down conversions, a lot of maybe the fourth down conversion.
I think he'll run significantly more as well, but I'm
taking under here fifty two.

Speaker 6 (01:24:00):
Next up Saquon Barkley, the man who you believe should
have been MVP this year, Martin and DJ. Yeah, all right,
So his rushing rushing line here is one hundred and
twelve point five. We'll start with you, Martin, what do
you think.

Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
This is where I go under. I think the Eagles
are gonna be trailing in this game. We're gonna feel
like they're gonna have to throw the ball to catch up,
and I don't see the sixty yard you know, smack
your head on the goalpost run out of Saquon Barkley
in this game. Obviously he hits one of those. He's
gonna go miles over this. I just don't see it
coming against Kansas City defense.

Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
Give me the over easily on this. Saquon is on
some different you know what. Can't say that word on
live radio. I want to, but I pride myself on
not eating the dump button. But he's a Brady said
it twice on TV. He sure did, and I loved it,
and Brady's the man. But honestly, man, this is this
is easy for me. Saquon is on something different. Guys, Okay,
we keep thinking it's gonna shut off. It's not gonna

(01:24:53):
shut off. He should have win the MVP. He was
the most viable player this year. He goes way over
this on his chief defense. And remember, guys, Chris Jones
is still a little nicked up on the calf.

Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
It didn't heal.

Speaker 4 (01:25:04):
Guys, It's just good enough for him to be able
to show up and play. They're gonna be able to
run the football tomorrow effectively.

Speaker 3 (01:25:09):
Give me the over on this. Go ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:25:12):
Next up, Travis Kelcey. His receiving yard line is set
at sixty two and a half. Martin will start with
you again under taking an under here. That is not
to say he will not be impactful. I think he
plays a pretty damn good game. In fact, I think
he has a touchdown in this game. I just think
he's going to come.

Speaker 3 (01:25:28):
You said it was sixty two, sixty two and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:25:30):
I think we're looking at like a five catch, fifty
seven yard game out of Kelsey. I went saw just
under Storrty.

Speaker 4 (01:25:36):
I'm with Martin, I'm gonna go under. I had it
this morning. I saw it at sixty one and a
half with a yard right. That doesn't make a difference.
He averaged fifty one point four per so you're asking
him to go over and beyond what he's done all
year long too. He had nineteen receiving yards. Guys in
the AFC Championship game. They really took him away from
the offense and then the Chiefs had to use other
ways to win this game. Of course, it comes down

(01:25:56):
to Josh Allen making a pannicin and the most import
or a moment in that game also too, But hey,
give me the under on this also too. Under definitely
sixty whether sixty one or sixty two and a half.
I'm going under here.

Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
All right. AJ Brown's receiving line. Is he gonna be
reading too many.

Speaker 6 (01:26:11):
Books on the sidelines or will he be able to
get to seventy one and a half receiving yards?

Speaker 3 (01:26:15):
VJ?

Speaker 4 (01:26:15):
What do you think I got him getting over seventy
one and a half because I think there's a play
whereas a comeback route or some type of end route,
end cut or slant where he either stops and breaks
back the other way and turns into a big play,
or he makes one guy miss a tackle and cuts
up phel There's a big play for AJ Brown because
he's just too big of a receiver and explosive once

(01:26:37):
he gets the ball in his hands, he's a hard
guy to bring down to the ground.

Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
I see a twenty.

Speaker 4 (01:26:41):
Five to thirty yard reception somewhere in his game, couple
of eight, ten, maybe another fifteen yarder that'll put him over.

Speaker 3 (01:26:48):
I'll take the over on this seventy one and a half.
Give me the over on this one.

Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
I'm going under here. I think AJ Brown is gonna
see a double team for most of this game. Again,
if the game script goes away, I think Phil is
gonna have to throw the all, and I think A J.

Speaker 3 (01:27:01):
Brown is gonna see doubles for almost the entirety of
the game.

Speaker 6 (01:27:05):
All right, Next up a little different, not a prey
a player prop here, but chief's total first downs? Do
you think it's more or less than nineteen and a half?

Speaker 2 (01:27:13):
Oh my goodness, that's way under. Yeah, I did say
nineteen first downs. Seems like it's a ton way overular yeah,
way under. I think I'd rather take both teams under
nineteen first downs if I had the opportunity to.

Speaker 3 (01:27:26):
What's what's the what's the plus minus on the under?
The under is a plus one twenty Yeah, I take
you under? Sure? Yeah, give me the under. Yeah, over
is minus one forty five? Give me, yeah, give me
on give me the under? Fair enough? Fair enough? All right?

Speaker 6 (01:27:41):
Well, next one here, here's a fun one. The Gatorade color.
This isn't a one or the other. Yes, if you
guys want to throw out your predictions for this, I
think this.

Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
Do you have Do you have any general odds? Are
we looking about orange plus two hundred? Do you guys
want to hear them? Yeah? Well go ahead, I got them,
But yes, your segment, I got him, But go ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:27:57):
The favorite is a yellow slash green. Right, so that's
my personal favorite flavor. That's minus two twenty five, so
heavy favorite there actually, but.

Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
Is yellow and green two separate flavors. Yellow slash green
is what it says at one and wait I saw
it this morning, was yellow slash green lines.

Speaker 6 (01:28:14):
It's the lemon line exactly. So it's it's the fluorescent
colored one. Yes, you got purple at plus three twenty.
You got orange at plus one thousand, blue at plus
thirteen hundred, red at plus fourteen hundred, No gatorade.

Speaker 3 (01:28:28):
Bath, yees fifteen hundred, Yes, no chance. What's the fun
in that? Well?

Speaker 4 (01:28:32):
See that's come down because this morning Price Pig had
it at plus twenty five hundred for no gate.

Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
Yes, this morning, no gatorade bath. So they're thinking it's
getting more likely. Yeah, exactly, that's come down. This one's
clear at plus eighteen hundred. First of all, clear slash water.
I'm about to say clears water gatorade exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
I think that should be a no bet. I'm going
blue blue, I like it. I'm going purple cast in
for me to last two years, I'm going purple. I'm
going purple for the trifector give me purple gatorade for
the winner. The reason why no bath is coming down
I did. Somebody thinks this thing is coming down to
like no time left on the clock, like the ball

(01:29:13):
going through the upright or someone crossing the goal line
or catching the ball with zeros on the clock. That way,
everybody runs and storms the field and the gatorade bat
could kind of get lost.

Speaker 3 (01:29:24):
And the game ended in overtime and they found a way. Yeah. Well,
I mean, like I said, it came down to thousands,
so but yeah, give me purple. I'll say purple.

Speaker 6 (01:29:32):
All right, I gonna do one more here before we
actually pick the game. But which team do you think
is going to be last to score? The Chiefs are
the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (01:29:41):
Ooh, I'm gonna go with the Eagles. Give me the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (01:29:47):
I think the Eagles score Mahomes and then recovered the
on the side kick three knees.

Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
Also like Mahomes over rushing attempts.

Speaker 2 (01:29:55):
I think it's seven and a half cause I think
he'll end the game taking three knees, which will be
three rushing attempts.

Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
Messing with the yards the rushing attempts. Well, here's the thing.
His rushing yards is at twenty eight and a half
now touching it.

Speaker 4 (01:30:07):
Okay, but watch this his last two Super Bowls forty
four and sixty two, or his rushing totals the last
two Super Bowls and last year fighting an akle injury.
I think I'm gonna take the over on this, and
that's what's gonna bring his passing yards down. Give me
the over on his rushing yards of his twenty eight
and a half. There's two scrambles that Mahomes pump fake.
Him and Josh Allen have the best pump think in

(01:30:28):
the history of the NFL. When they're trying to make
you think they're gonna throw the ball, but they really
want to run. I've haven't seen two guys do it
better than those two guys. Maybe Fran Targets and back
in the sextons and seventies. Making sure you know this
and also educating the audience. You know, the yards lost
on QB neils count as negative rushing. Yeah, absolutely, Okay, Yeah,
just qualifying that.

Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
I know true in the NFL. I know that's true
in college trust in the NFL. Yeah, absolutely truly.

Speaker 4 (01:30:52):
I've seen people lose money, lose money on that absolutely
all day and absolutely I.

Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
Got another one for you.

Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
I believe it was uh yes, I mean Eagles minus
one eighteen Kansas City minus our plus one ten to
have the longest touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:31:11):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:31:12):
See, Xavier Worthy scares me with that one because he
has the ability to get behind the defense and catch
a bomb and that could be our sa Quan blows
the top off for sixty to eight seventy two yard run.
Give me the Eagles because it's it's more like sat
Quan has more opportunity.

Speaker 3 (01:31:28):
I'm on the Eagles too. Okay, Phillies defense just doesn't
give up explosive plays number one in the league.

Speaker 4 (01:31:34):
Kansas City is not interested in making them no right
Hams twenty eighth in the league.

Speaker 3 (01:31:39):
So I think the answer that one is all Eagles
go for.

Speaker 6 (01:31:41):
It's actually quite a defensive mind battle here. You got spags,
you got Yesangio, Yes of scoring, that's where yes.

Speaker 4 (01:31:48):
Also, if I can throw one out there to ask
you guys, fifty five and a half worthies receiving yards.

Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
Marn I thought that was a very interesting one. Fifty
five and a half for Worthy. Yeah, it could go
either one. I'm right right.

Speaker 4 (01:32:01):
He can get shut down or he can have a
big explosion. What Yeah, it just takes one way his speed.
I'm leaning over because and I'm leaning over. But it's
gonna be nasty the way it wins, because it's gonna
be one of those pop passes that really, in like
ten years ago, would have been a handoff. Yeah, but
instead now they're gonna is like he just catches.

Speaker 2 (01:32:20):
It and lets the ball go and then the receiver
runs across like Tyreek instud do all the time. It's
gonna count as a receiving yard. But for our eyes
and for all intentsive purposes, it should be a rush.
Everyone's gonna be a furious about it. The overs at
a minus one ten. So there's also that too. So
that was another one that I wrote down. A I
wrote down a bunch of one.

Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
You're saying over under for that one, though, that's a
good one.

Speaker 4 (01:32:44):
You know what, I'll go over because his speed, you
just can't. You can't quantify that, like you can't, you
know you can't. And then that means Kelsey could if
I got Kelsey under. Somebody's got to make a play tomorrow, right,
It's gotta be somebody. Jusual's Oh, he ain't got the speed.
No more neither this, Davonte, I mean DeAndre, excuse me?

Speaker 3 (01:33:02):
All right?

Speaker 6 (01:33:02):
All right, lots of agreement, lots of agreement this week.
But next up, let's actually pick the game. Chiefs Eagles
super Bowl l I X fifty nine. Chiefs are favored
by one point. What do we think, Martin?

Speaker 3 (01:33:15):
We'll start with you.

Speaker 2 (01:33:16):
I'm picking the Kansas City Chiefs. I had them all season.
I've never truly waivered off that they will be in
this moment, and this is one of those. It requires discipline.
I told myself in August, I think the Chiefs are
gonna beat the Lions in the Super Bowl. Lions didn't
quite make it there. But Kansas City, I told myself
in August, are gonna do it. I'm not gonna change

(01:33:37):
my mind now there's been no major All the reasons
I thought Kansas would win the Super Bowl in August
are still true today. I'm going and I'm picking Kansas
City with the caveat. I have been wrong about the
Philadelphia Eagles since day one of this season, about just
about every single possible thing. I thought they were gonna
lose each playoff game they played. I thought they were
gonna I thought they were gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:33:58):
Miss the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:33:59):
So I have been off on the Eagles all the way.
I'm still picking the chiefs opposite Ian. You and me, Baby,
we got a chance. Man.

Speaker 3 (01:34:10):
We're the only two people. We're the only two people
in Fox Sports Radio LA pick the Eagles to win
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:34:20):
Back in August when we wrote it on our sheet
that all the talent and all the producers and all
the editors here do Ian and I the only two
people that have Eagles written in Super Bowl fifty nine spot.

Speaker 3 (01:34:31):
I'm not giving up on them now. I'm not giving
up on Jalen hurt Hey.

Speaker 4 (01:34:36):
I was mad at Sirianni for doing what he did
with Saquan, but I still stay with I don't dislike
him as much as everybody else does. In his quirkiness
just doesn't bother me like it bothers everybody else. There's
some people that are just weird in this planet, and
I'm weird too. Everybody in the studio's got weird stuff
about him. So I'm not gonna pick on this guy.
Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley do the job tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:34:56):
This Eagles defense guys do not be under S. They
made it.

Speaker 4 (01:35:00):
Judging this defense, they are number one in the league,
they are number one against the pass, and they got
some young dogs on their front seven that are going
to get after Patrick Mahomes tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
The Eagles will win this game by two points.

Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
Give me thirty one to twenty nine, and Jalen Hurts
has the game winning drive and things get flipped on
the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (01:35:24):
The Chiefs are the.

Speaker 4 (01:35:25):
Only back to back Super Bowl winners that ever make
it back to the third Super Bowl to go for
the three p I just don't think they could close
the whole book. They got there, but they don't close.
MVP and long shot MVP. Long shot MVP for me
would be aj Brown MVP Jalen Hurts at a plus

(01:35:46):
three seventy five.

Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
I'll take it. I think the final score this.

Speaker 2 (01:35:49):
Game would be Kansas City twenty four Philadelphia twenty one.
Just sneaking under MVP will be Patrick Mahomes long shot
MVP to one Devontae Smith. I think he goes off,
he might go off. I think he goes off.

Speaker 3 (01:36:05):
He might go as a game tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (01:36:07):
Give me the over on a forty eight and a
half though, I'll take the over on a forty eight
and a half.

Speaker 3 (01:36:10):
Definitely coming up next.

Speaker 2 (01:36:12):
We'll have Tim Parker. He covers the Lakers and the
Rams and everything sports LA. He's in studio to break
down the Super Bowl, the Lakers, the trade that didn't happen.
Did you find out Mark Williams not coming to LA.
We'll see his opinion on that and everything else in
just a moment Martin Wise VJ.

Speaker 3 (01:36:30):
Husky on the last football Saturday of the year, Super
Bowl Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:36:38):
Be sure to check out Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel,
especially this weekend. There's a ton of great videos from
this week alone, as Fox Sports Radio was live this
week from the Super week in New Orleans.

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
I mean, just think about just this is not it.
I'm not reading that anymore.

Speaker 8 (01:36:53):
This is just me.

Speaker 2 (01:36:54):
Think about the absurdity that is Rob Parker in a
twenty four hour city, all right? Think about that, right,
About the absurdity that is LeVar Airy today Jonas Knox
having to do morning radio in a city that does
not sleep.

Speaker 8 (01:37:07):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
There's gems of goals on this YouTube channel, so I
highly suggest you go and check it out. All of

You can tweet us and get Addison that way.

Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
I'm at Martin White's VJ at Big Vanilla Funny and
we are joined here with Tim Parker, who was the
Spectrum Sports Net LA sports journalist. He also works with
the friend of the network, as you know, no employee
of the network now, Kelvin Washington, who ad the host
of the Odd Couple you can catch You've got Spectrum LA.

(01:37:58):
You see those two pounding around. But Timmy, thanks for
joining us. I appreciate your brother. It's Timothy, Timothy. Let's
let's let's see it right from the people.

Speaker 3 (01:38:06):
I did all of that. I did all of that.
I said, how do you want to be called? Oh no, no,
no't worry about there's nothing. It's nothing. See see some
people call you something and then professionally it's a whole
different guy. I get it. I get it. My fault
we tim and the clubs and the clubs on.

Speaker 2 (01:38:20):
My phone as Tim Parker. But Timothy, thank you for
coming to join us on the show. Has been a
busy week in Los Angeles, uh, the most recent so
you know, just just because you cover this on a
news basis, right, so you see the trade go down
last week Luga Dancics for Anthony Davis, and then a
week later you see the recented trade of Mark Williams,

(01:38:42):
Redalton Connect and some other pieces.

Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
Where are you at now? As somebody who's at these
games quite often?

Speaker 7 (01:38:47):
So today I'm looking at the Lakers situation. They need
a big man. Obviously that's the first thing. But I
think in the immediate the spirit of the Lakers is
broken because now you were talking about a championship. You
finally that's your big man. You know what you got
with Luca and Lebron. But now it could be a
better thing for the future if you keep Dalton Connect

(01:39:09):
as a three point threat with Luca. With Lebron, you
got Austin Reeves and now you get a big man.
In the off season. So it could work out better
for the Lakers in the long run, but for the
short term, it's bad news because you know you ain't
got no shot to winning the championship right now.

Speaker 4 (01:39:26):
Timothy, by the way, you're on my phone. It's Timothy Parker,
and I always call you Timothy when I see you
in person. You cross at all these LA.

Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
Teams and games.

Speaker 12 (01:39:34):
VJ by name, Yeah, you know, you know spelled out
is v WJ. Why it's not VJ. I know what
I can appreciate you about VJ. When somebody asked you,
how would you like to be introduced?

Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
You know what you say? You say VJ VJ. Guy
doesn't matter. I'm not ty, go ahead. But uh so, Timothy,
when I look at this, the thing is who won?
Right Who won the trade?

Speaker 4 (01:39:58):
Was it a d was it the Lakers? Was it Lakers?
Lebron and Luca? You know I think won this trade
Rob Polinka because you know what Pelinka can do. Now,
Pelinka can go ay. I done my he I've done
my part. I not only made every move that Lebron
wanted me to make. I got Luca here. I think

(01:40:18):
he bought himself two years.

Speaker 3 (01:40:19):
What did Rob Pelinka do other than get Luca?

Speaker 4 (01:40:23):
And now this is on his record over send the trade,
like to be honest that look that guy know the
physical that's not all Ron.

Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
They knew he had injury issues on this one.

Speaker 2 (01:40:35):
All right, no, but here's the deal. You answer the
phone for Luca one hundred percent. I get that, Like
you got to answer the phone. Kudos A for answering
the phone and be not letting this get out right.
I think those are two right paths on the back
for Rob. But I think it started to swing left
as soon as he walked in for the intro press
conference with that leather jacket and first of all.

Speaker 3 (01:40:54):
At the game too. I'm just I'm just playing.

Speaker 1 (01:40:57):
But no.

Speaker 2 (01:40:57):
But seriously though, because right now, like he's like him
said the minute, the Laker spirit is broken. I want
you to speak on this for a second. Because they
were supposed to get Bark Williams. That's supposed to be
a team that's competing with the top of the West. Now,
I know, weird, this is just like forty five minutes old,
but that's got it. The failure to acquire a big
pass to go on Polinka, right it is.

Speaker 7 (01:41:20):
On Polinka I know he tried, but he failed once again,
you know. And I think what's the failure right now
for the Lakers And the problem that the Lakers fans
are going to have is this. Everything in Lakerland is
about championships. It's not about the visions, not about getting
to the finals, is about winning a championship. And with
Mark Williams, potentially that hope was actually out there again.

(01:41:42):
Now that the hope has been taken away from you,
you feel like you're back to square one and you're
back to that mediocre we don't know where we are
land right now, and I think that's the big problem
for the Lakers because that spirit is crushed.

Speaker 3 (01:41:55):
Who do you go get? You go out and get
the White Howard? What do you do now that that?
I mean, that's a real thing, Dwight Howard, Boogie Cousins
like those guys, the White would sign in a second
and there's still a real thing and they're still in
relative shape playing ball in China.

Speaker 2 (01:42:09):
But when you said that, I didn't mean to laugh,
but it's there's not much you can do besides laugh,
because to your point, I think that when the deal
first happened Saturday and a Sunday and Monday, Lakers fans
were very much okay, this is a great move for
the future. Then when you start hearing then Mark Williams

(01:42:31):
is on the way. Now all of a sudden, right
now starts looking real good.

Speaker 3 (01:42:34):
They could beat a baby Thunder team, you think.

Speaker 2 (01:42:36):
And so then now you go back and it's like this,
this situation not happening in the same way. But I
do want to take a second here because we saw
the other half of this trade land today and it
also landed in the locker room by the fourth quarter.
Anthony Davis, who by all, by all accounts, by just
life and just facts, has been much healthier over the
last two seasons, and he had all.

Speaker 3 (01:42:58):
Over it entirety of his career.

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Doesn't change the fact today came back from his first
game back after five left with another non contact injury.
They were already beefing up the security in Dallas. Now
eighties hurt like Dico Harrison. How does he go back
to work? Like how does how do how does he go?
How does he move around the city? How does you
go grocery shopping?

Speaker 7 (01:43:20):
It's going to be very dangerous for him for the
next two months. But the proof is going to be
in the putting when you get to May and June period.

Speaker 4 (01:43:27):
So let's let's go there with Dallas. The injury, the
reports on the injury is not serious. The Segur dumped
out on us a little earlier that it's not seriously.

Speaker 3 (01:43:35):
You just hate to see it.

Speaker 4 (01:43:36):
But let's pick these two teams, who who comes out
the better this season? And then let's say two or
three years down the line in your opinion, So let's
start with this season, who goes further in the playoffs?
Who has a better year this year when as the
teams are currently constructed.

Speaker 7 (01:43:52):
That's why that Mark Williams things think. That's why that
Mark Williams things is so big because I would have
said the Lakers. I thought the Beers would have actually
probably went farther in the West with him being there.
Now that he's going, clearly the Mavericks are the team
that's going to go further, or at least have the
expectations of going farther because they have a complete team.
The Lakers don't have a legitimate big man at all.

(01:44:13):
They lost the four that lost to five. You kind
of have nothing in the middle, and years down the line,
say two years from now. Who's in better position the
Lakers obviously Luca, as long as he stays, you know,
in shape and everything exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:44:27):
Like if there though right injuries and conditioning. Listen, he
could be out of shape. I'll watch that out of
shape dude lead up to the final. If he on
the court, I ain't betting against.

Speaker 4 (01:44:37):
It, all right, but he just said, we know it's
not about Western Conference fantasy. That's okay for Dallas. Right
out of shape Luca gets to the exactly, Dallas, because
you just the only reason they just went to the finals.
If it was like coming off with some other years
three years ago, then you can say, okay, whatever. But Dallas,
they're gonna be looking at an Nego like you traded
Luca and this dude can't get us out.

Speaker 3 (01:44:59):
Of the second round.

Speaker 2 (01:45:00):
Oh it's it's gonna be a nasty And what I'm
saying is to me, Lucas the floor is conference finals.
We've seen him ever since the bubble. If he's healthy,
they're one of the last four teams standing right that
that last year, the year they traded for Kyrie miss
a lot of that time.

Speaker 7 (01:45:16):
But so you think the Lakers can go to the
Conference finals without a center with well no, hell no.

Speaker 2 (01:45:22):
That was about to say hell no, but I think
it is that when I thought Dad Mark Williams going
out there, ketcha hobbs, I did. Let's go ahead, kick
it over to Steve the Sega real quick after we
will talk about the Super Bowl with Tim and just
a minute, Steve, you're up.

Speaker 5 (01:45:34):
Let's start with Golden State Steph Curry, who has thirty
four points twenty four in the third quarter and a
minute Togo. Golden State is leading one thirty to one
oh nine at Chicago. Celtics are gonna win at New
York apparently about eight minutes to go. The cas are
up one three eighty four against the Knicks Chason Tatum
with forty points, Jalen Brunson in the Knicks with thirty.

(01:45:55):
The Nuggets are leading late third quarter at Phoenix eighty
four seventy three. Lake did win in LA today against Indiana,
won twenty four one seventeen Austin Reeves forty five points.
Lebron James was out with a sore ankle. Luka Donsich
could debut Monday for LA. Lakers led by twenty two
after the first quarter today but tonight, the Lakers trade
for Charlotte's center Mark Williams was rescinded. He failed as

(01:46:18):
physical at Dallas, Mavericks over Houston won sixteen one oh five.
Rockets have lost six straight. Anthony Davis and his MAVs
debut twenty six points, sixteen rebounds. He had seven assists
just one turnover, but left the game with an apparent
abdominal injury. He had missed five games with an abdominal strain.
He said groin tightness was a problem. Today he says

(01:46:39):
it's not serious. Atlanta gotta win. At Washington won twenty
five one eleven. Trey Young thirty five points, fourteen assists.
The Wizard's record now nine and forty three. Oklahoma is
forty two to nine after winning at Memphis won twenty
five one twelve. Shay Gilgas Alexander thirty two points, eight assists,
no turnovers for Oka. Chet Holmgrim was out tonight, rested

(01:47:02):
after he just returned Friday after being out three months
after an injury. Orlando with a late bucket beat San
Antonio won twelve one to eleven. Franz Wagner thirty three points.
Minnesota has ended Portland six game winning streak one fourteen
to ninety eight. Anthony Edwards of the Timberwolves was out
this evening with a sore hip. Jaden McDaniels with thirty points.

(01:47:23):
Now to college basketball, we have under four minutes to go.
Number three Alabama leads seventy nine sixty nine at Arkansas,
and the top two teams in the polls have lost.
Number one Auburn lost at home to six stranth Florida
ninety to eighty one, and number two Duke was beaten
at Clemson seventy seven seventy one. Duke had won sixteenth
straight victories in the top ten for Tennessee and Houston

(01:47:45):
for Iowa State and Michigan State. Number ten Texas A
and M was a winner at fifteenth rank Missouri sixty
seven sixty four. Right now at LSU, under two minutes
left Tigers ahead of number twenty five Old miss seventy
to sixty three. About to start top twenty matchup of
Texas Tech at Arizona next Saturday. Arizona will be hosting
number five rank Houston, which is eleven and one in

(01:48:07):
that Big twelve conference. Creighton beat number eleven Marquette Kansas
State over sixteenth thrank Kansas in the NHL Carolina one
seven three over Utah. Currently in the NHL, it's the
Predators five to four over Buffalo with three and a
half minutes to go, and the Eagles activated defensive end
Brandon Graham. He had triceps surgery in November.

Speaker 2 (01:48:28):
Bick to you, thanks Steve Martin VJA, coming to you
live from the Tireraq dot com studios.

Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
I've had it somewhere here, you know what. That's all right?
We got tam U Parker. I got you back. I
was about to say you name you want me Readeres
sponsor by Timothy Parker.

Speaker 4 (01:48:41):

Speaker 3 (01:49:07):
So the Super Bowl obviously around the corner.

Speaker 2 (01:49:09):
And for those of you who don't know Tim does,
Timothy does work out here in Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (01:49:14):
But if you follow him in this game, you'll see
nothing but go Berts. He sings the song you ain't
seen that Fly Fly Baby, He sings the song. I'm
from Philly, diehard.

Speaker 7 (01:49:27):
I spent over a grand to go to Philly for
the NFC Championship game. From LA to the Philly. I'm
ready for tomorrow, baby, I'm ready for Super Bowl Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
All right, So the most pressing issue in Philly joellenbid No,
I'm just kidding.

Speaker 7 (01:49:39):
They got hurt from Joe LMB may be the luckiest
man in the country right now because nobody gives a
crap about the Sixers. But after Super Bowl Sunday, you're
gonna be watching him like a hawk.

Speaker 2 (01:49:49):
It's a mix between him and Jerry Jones, like aow
taking that smoke off a Brian shot.

Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
Nimer, tell me why the Eagles have a shot to
win this game? All right? Tell me who do you
think wins? And tell me why is surprise? I think
the Eagles win. Surprise.

Speaker 7 (01:50:04):
The Eagles win thirty four to twenty three simply because
they're the better team, point blank period. They're better at
every position except for quarterback. But it takes fifty three men.
Fifty three men, not just one. The Eagles are better
at every position. Maybe kicker not so much, but defensive line, Eagles,
offensive line.

Speaker 3 (01:50:22):
Eagles, receiver, Eagles, everything.

Speaker 7 (01:50:25):
The Eagles are better at other than quarterback, and there's
only so much Patrick Mahome Mahomes can do despite Okay,
maybe Travis Kelcey may be better than Dallas Goddard as well.

Speaker 3 (01:50:33):
So I'm going Eagles thirty four to twenty three.

Speaker 7 (01:50:35):
By however, I'm afraid like everybody else that if it's
a one possession game, there's some dark magic you can't
beat them. So I think the Eagles have to score,
score early and then take some pressure off their offense
and then that the defense do the job. Thirty four
to twenty three. All right, I'm not surprised you picked
the Eagles. You and I have a history. We didn't
meet out here.

Speaker 4 (01:50:54):
We go all the way back to Bristol, Connecticut when
you were ESPN and I was out there doing some
work in another network out the area. So I know
your your love for the Eagles and your your football knowledge,
but this's eleven point win. You have to really, I
think the Eagles win I'm with you, but I like
a much closer game. I'm with you as far as
them being better at most positions. My guy, I think
tomorrow is the most important guy in the football field

(01:51:15):
that no one wants to throw his name and talk about,
is going to be Jayalen Carter right up the middle
to push up the middle stop the running game. But
I told Martin and we said earlier in the show,
I think Patrick Mahomes is running. It's scrambling and trying
to get out of the pocket quite often.

Speaker 3 (01:51:29):
Tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (01:51:29):
This Eagles defense with Vic Vangiel's come in and done,
number one ranked defense number one to gets the pass
number three against the rush, and it just can't be overstated.
But it's just something about Andy Reid and and and
the and Pat Mahomes. You gotta break this eleven point win.

Speaker 7 (01:51:43):
I'm not mad at the Eagles winning, but I don't
think the Eagles can win a close game because I
don't think anybody it's got to be a blow up
in the Eagles to win necessartain necess not necessarily a blowout,
but a comfortable win where you're not nail bidings.

Speaker 3 (01:51:55):
Like all right, I like, okay, come not a blaw
but they gotta win.

Speaker 2 (01:51:58):
They got because that's thing in football that's crazy because
you'll watch a game and you'll see it'll be seven,
it'll be ten to three at the end of the
first half.

Speaker 3 (01:52:07):
But the team that has three will have dominated, right.

Speaker 2 (01:52:10):
And they the other team just happen to have a
to the scoreboard is, you'll say, exactly, And then you
see it that generally, as as the game plays out,
you end up seeing the team that generally is dominating
everything but to score, they normally win the game.

Speaker 10 (01:52:24):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:52:24):
So like, but to Tim's point, tell me you can't imagine, Timothy,
tell me you can't imagine.

Speaker 4 (01:52:31):
A world to gotta be with my host now, my
co host. Now you told me now, yeah, I'm trying
to be my friend. Now it's only going Tim.

Speaker 3 (01:52:41):
But it's cool.

Speaker 2 (01:52:42):
But uh, somebody, you can't see a world where the
Eagles lead in rushing stats and rushing yards, Eagles lead
and receiving yards.

Speaker 3 (01:52:49):
Eagles lead in Super Bowl fifty. Yeah, right, Eagles lead.

Speaker 2 (01:52:55):
They are loud, and the only thing they don't lead
in is Miraculous fourth played by Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (01:53:01):
They also let in penalties, and that became the reason
why they lost the.

Speaker 7 (01:53:04):
Game, you know, Super Bowl fifty seven, Remember they were
up by it cost because it was with okay, we
could talk about that fumble, and I remember Jalen Hurts
post game because I was there being very distraught. He
pretty much took the blame for the loss on himself,
even though he was the reason they were in the
game in the first place.

Speaker 3 (01:53:24):
But even if they don't score on it, even.

Speaker 7 (01:53:27):
If he doesn't fumble, they may only get a field goal,
So well they're up thirteen instead of ten. Does that
really make a difference. But I think overall is that
Chiefs voodoo, whatever magic that you got, that's the stuff
you're scared of. It's not the football, because how many
low grade teams almost beat them this year that he

(01:53:48):
did one on a block field goal against some mid
eight and eighteencos he was okay but still it was hot.

Speaker 4 (01:53:55):
He put Yeah, it was one of our underdog picks
that week he was, and he almost cashed in on
it too, almost cashed in on it. So a lot
of teams have the formula to beat the Chiefs, but
they can't finish the job to close games out.

Speaker 2 (01:54:06):
So I ultimately that's what I think will end up happening,
is it will not be able to finish the job.
Because I mean, I I've sworn one time on the
radio this year, and it was after Patrick Mahomes did
that levitation of the first round of the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:54:21):
I'm just like, it doesn't freaking matter.

Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
Except I didn't say freaking I'll do that's the first
time because I wasn't even like, wasn't angry or anything.
It was just like, I'm supposed to sit here and
break this down. I'm supposed to analyze this Why it
doesn't matter. It doesn't matter why because he's him and
that's what he does.

Speaker 7 (01:54:37):
I will say this, though, I think everybody needs to
start putting some more respect on Jalen Hurt's name. Two
years ago he was a candidate for MVP. People were
saying he should have been MVP, despite the fact they
lost in the Super Bowl. So all of a sudden,
he turned it to he turned it to Ryan Leaf.
All of a sudden, he can play. He's the reason

(01:54:58):
they're there too. It just so happy and they got
say Kwon Barkley, one of the greatest running backs of
all time, to join him.

Speaker 2 (01:55:04):
So he does.

Speaker 7 (01:55:05):
He doesn't have to do so much. It's time to
stop disrespecting Jalen. Her take here and he can deliver
a win for the Eagles on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:55:12):
I tell you it will. I can guarantee you one
thing will happen. If the Eagles do lift that trophy.

Speaker 2 (01:55:17):
There will definitely be people having conversations about whether or
not we should be respecting Jalen Hurkay.

Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
I promise you he still won't get the credit.

Speaker 2 (01:55:25):
Timothy, Timothy Parker, UH, Spectrum sports Net sports journalist.

Speaker 3 (01:55:30):
Thank you for coming on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:55:32):
You can catch the Spectrum Sports Net LA social media
on Timothy Parker TV.

Speaker 3 (01:55:36):
Timothy Parker TV. You can call me tim stop it.

Speaker 2 (01:55:39):
You know we no, we can't do no, no, no, no,
Timoth Yeah, Timothy coming up next By this time next week,
Maril wis V there us. He comes to you live
from the tire rack dot Com studios. It's now time
for by this time next week.

Speaker 6 (01:55:54):
All right, let's update from last week. So Martin, you're
three from last week. Jimmy Butler will still be a
member of the Miami not have been more wrong, correct,
could not have been more wrong? Your other one, Jackson Dart,
will be mentioned in the same class as cam Warden
Shaduur Sanders.

Speaker 3 (01:56:06):
I didn't expect Luka Donches to dominate the news side.

Speaker 6 (01:56:09):
Fair enough, and Jamar Chase will not have a new contract.
You're correct on that one.

Speaker 3 (01:56:13):
VJ.

Speaker 6 (01:56:14):
You said the Rockets will be the best team in
the NBA. There's an argument Jimmy Butler will not be
a member of the Miami he You were right on
that one. And the third pick to the Giants will
be favored to be Shaduur Sanders.

Speaker 2 (01:56:26):
Again, no one expected Luca don Just to run to
run the news but Dion did speak about that, saying
that his son was going to be dry half to
drafted higher than him. But they they probably weren't shooting
for number one overall because I don't think he's going
number one overall.

Speaker 3 (01:56:40):
We'll count it well. I think he's going number three
to the Giants, I also said, and his dad went
number four. I also said that the Saints still will
not have a head coach.

Speaker 2 (01:56:48):
I just saw come across the bottom line expected to
hire Kellen Moore after this game. By this time next week,
we will be having conversations about Jalen Hurts as a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:56:56):
I do think he plays well in.

Speaker 2 (01:56:58):
This game, even though I think they lose, There're gonna
be enough people out there pounding the table saying this
guy is a top seven guy in the league.

Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
By this time next.

Speaker 4 (01:57:05):
Week, Valentine's Day would have passed, and all this Laker
love that you're seeing in LA would have died off
a little bit as the reality sets in that do
not have anybody to rebound twenty seventh in the league.

Speaker 3 (01:57:15):
That was with Anthony Davis and no big man to
protect the ren.

Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
I think that happened as soon as Steve De Seger
said Mark Williams wasn't coming here.

Speaker 3 (01:57:22):
By this time next week, like VJ said.

Speaker 2 (01:57:25):
I'm gonna double down on that one, the pressure on
the Lakers is going to be humongous. We will see
angry JJ Reddick in a pros game press conference.

Speaker 13 (01:57:35):
By this time next week, we will have another African
American who has won a Super Bowl in this country
in the NFL, as Jalen Hurts would have celebrated the parade,
and Nick Sirianni is going to be shirtless at some
point within the next four days.

Speaker 3 (01:57:51):
Oh if that's the case, and by this time next week,
I will be furious.

Speaker 2 (01:57:55):
It will have been a week after the Eagles on
the Super Bowl, and I'll have to watch Nick Sirianni
do his peacock all up and down.

Speaker 3 (01:58:01):
Sorry, he's gonna do it. I can't stay He's gonna
do it. Say it's gonna do it. You got any more? Yes?

Speaker 6 (01:58:06):
I do.

Speaker 4 (01:58:07):
By this time next week there will be a huge
overreaction to the Chiefs not winning three in a row.
They will be back into Super Bowl at least the
AFC Championship Game and twenty twenty five, twenty six. People, relax,
It's hard to win three in a row. But this
is Jalen Hurts and this is the Eagles time right now.

Speaker 2 (01:58:26):
So just remember, folks, I'm gonna take this moment to
explain to everyone, if you can hear my voice, I
just need to do yourself a favor. Introduce your girlfriend
or partner whoever, show them pictures of Jalen Hurts now,
and save yourself the struggle headache that will happen when
she discovers during the national anthem that the Eagles quarterback

(01:58:49):
looks like that he is all right, fine, say yourself,
there's one more football game this year, all right? Show
her to Instagram, let her know, all right, do yourself
the favorite?

Speaker 3 (01:59:00):
So what us on next week? Taylor Swift and Kelsey
will not be engaged up next peace Out
