Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Well, that's right, you heard the man. It is that
time of week. My name is Bernie Fronter, who come
to you live the tyrack dot com studios here in
Las Vegas, the home of Super Bowl fifty eight Fox
Sports Radio. Tyrack dot com we'll help you get there
and on matt selection, fast free shipping, free roadazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommend installers tyraq dot com the

(00:26):
way tire buying should be. We're forty hours from kickoff
an absolute electricweek here in Las Vegas, especially on Radio Row,
where I spent considerable time shout out to our guys
Covino and Rich, got to meet them for the first time,
got to hang with him. Absolute class guys, dynamic personalities,

(00:49):
but you already knew that. And of course Danny g
as Well hung out with Anthony Argano. He follows me
at two am Pacific, five am Eastern course, got the
kibbets with our bosses, our Steam leader, Scott Shapiro and
Don Martin. An all around electric week. And it's incredible
to think that a city that the NFL typically treated

(01:13):
like a toxic waste stump and a threat to the
integrity of the sport is hosting a super Bowl here.
This is perhaps the lead story, the fact that a
league that once shunned this city now welcomes four hundred
thousand people to town, including the Emperor Goodell himself, and the

(01:34):
championship game, where the average ticket price is about nine
thousand dollars. I'd get you in the door, actually, but
I digress, because we're gonna I've got four hours tonight,
in three hours Saturday, and we're gonna have wall to wall.
We have the most comprehensive super Bowl stuff you can imagine,
with great guests. But I will tell you part of
the commentary, part of the dialogue, and we're not gonna

(01:57):
dwell on it. But the reality of it is, it's
incredulous to think that we're actually having a Super Bowl
in Las Vegas when nine years ago Tony Romo, by
the way, I love Jason spitt On Tonio what slaves me?
He was banned from hosting a fantasy sports convention here
in Las Vegas. Fantasy football. Okay, two thousand and four,

(02:19):
I'm doing a show in Detroit. We come to find
out that the LVCVA wants to advertise remember the campaign,
which stays in Vegas. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
The NFL so no, no, no, we don't want your money.
Can't making excuses after excuse reminds me of a Woody
Allen movie. Frankly it does. I'm a Woody Allen fan.

(02:40):
I hope you are too. One of his originals, Bananas,
Woody Allen started in himself. He played a character by
the name of Feeling Melish, a reporter, a journalist who
is who was dispatched to San Salvador to cover the
war an overthrow of the dictator I guess as it were.
And while he's down there, he has a massive crush

(03:02):
falls head over heels for a young female journalist, and
he's doing everything he can do and press her, including
sharing with her what a world traveler he is and
all the places he's been. And she says to him,
have you ever been to Denmark? He says, well, of course,
I've been to Denmark. I've even been to the Vatican.
She says, Vatican. The Vaticans in Rome's oh, I know,

(03:25):
I know, but they were doing so well they decided
to open up one in Denmark. Also, that's what the
NFL reminds me of when you consider over the years. Again,
nine years ago, NFL bars Dallas Cowboy former Dallas Cowby
quarterback Tony Romo from hosting a fantasy sports convention because,

(03:46):
of course, would have taken place adjacent to a casino.
Oh boy, the NFL treated Vegas, you know, the most
concentrated humb of legal gambling. And I'll repeat it a
second time. He treated us like a talk waste ump,
a complete threat to the integrity of the sport and society.
And Lee Steinberg likened it to a Berlin wall separating

(04:09):
the NFL from gambling. Of course, that softened dramatically in
twenty eighteen and the Supreme Court ruling that lifted the
ban on sports betting. That was a PASSPA. The NFL
gradually started to embrace gambling. The had sportsbook sponsors, they
had data partners. Now we've got the Raiders in Vegas.

(04:29):
We even had the draft here in twenty twenty two,
and now the league is all in the city. Look
link a regular part of the Super Bowl rotation. I
am told from a good source that after the Super
Bowl heads to New Orleans next year, Los Angeles in
twenty twenty six and San Francisco Levi Stadium in twenty
twenty seven. We think we're going to get it back
here in twenty twenty eight. You know, I wouldn't surprise me,

(04:54):
as salacious as this may have sounded in two thousand
and four, that hey, someday there'll be a Super Bowl
in Vegas, And seleacious as this may sound, it would
not surprise me if you look up a decade from now.
We just have the Super Bowl in Vegas every year.
And here's why I say that. If you really understand
what the Super Bowl is, it's basically a two week

(05:15):
convention for the National Football League. It culminates in a
football game. Yeah, it's a two week convention. What better
convention city than Las Vegas. Look at the transportation, the hotels,
the accommodation of the dining, the entertainment, everything, the security.
I will tell you talking to media, fans, people from

(05:38):
around the country and around the world, security, the FBI,
they're all blown away with the Vegas's seamless ability to
host this two week convention. Right. So, the long and
short of it is, the super Bowl is here, and
now that it's here, I guess you could say we
essentially have the matchup that I don't think anybody really

(06:01):
wanted in the city that no one believed it would
ever be in. Really, our crew, our Friday Night crew,
my Saturday Night crew, eight guys, oh for eight, none
of us wanted this matchup. I wanted Detroit and Buffalo,
That's what I wanted. A lot of folks wanted the Lions.
A lot of folks wanted to see the Bills. A

(06:21):
lot of folks how about the Baltimore Raven It would
have been great to see Lamar Jackson in a Super Bowl.
I don't know that anybody was pining for Kansas City
San Francisco, but we do have a hell of a matchup.
And the real narrative is basically around the quarterbacks, which
is part of the storyline Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purty.

(06:41):
But the truth of the matter is from a narrative perspective,
this might be as interesting as Super Bowl as we've
had in decades, because on one side, you've got Patrick Mahomes,
who's chasing his third Super Bowl at the age of
twenty eight. He's managed coach by Andy Reid, who's trying
to become just the fis coach in the National Football
League history with at least three Super Bowl victories. On

(07:05):
the other side, you have the San Francisco forty nine Ers,
clearly a storied franchise, routinely one of the best teams
in the NFL over the past five years, but they're
seeking their first championship since nineteen ninety five when they
destroyed the Chargers forty nine to twenty one. Oh yeah,
They've got a quarterback who went from the last pick

(07:27):
in the draft to an MVP candidate. And I say
candidate in air quotes because people lose their mind when
you compliment Rock Party. But quarterbacks always drive the narrative
of the game, and this matchup feels like a referendum
on Rock Party. He's a two hundred and sixty two,
two hundred and sixty second pick in the twenty twenty

(07:49):
two draft, and because Kyle Shanahan does frankly have a
history of getting the most out of quarterbacks, regardless of
who unless it's Trey Lance. Remember, even Nick Ullins had
eight starts as an undrafted rookie and average two hundred
and eighty four yards per game. Well, Rock Perdy's accomplishments
have been viewed with a healthy amount of skepticism. Do

(08:11):
not put me in that category. I've broken him down
and his ability to play the position with his eyes,
make decisions, key plays, alive with his feet. He's so
much better than people give him credit for. Let's not
dwell on that right now. Before the season, though, a
lot of folks doubted Perdy. Remember it seems like a
distant memory because he was coming off that elbow surgery,

(08:32):
basically had his arm taken off in the game against Philadelphia.
Last year. It only played eight full games as an
infl starter. I had seen enough to know he could
play the position. Now there was no guarantee he would
continue to be as effective as was last year. And
what were people saying, Oh, I gotta see more. It's
the same skeptics that they just they think they're more
intelligent when they take the contrarian side, just because he

(08:55):
sounds stupid. But Purdy was excellent this season, as I
believe you would be. He's throwing for forty three hundred yards,
thirty one touchdowns, eleven picks, completing seventy percent of his passes.
All those numbers. Don't lose your mind and drive off
the road. All those numbers are actually better than my
home stats. Purdy also leads the league in yards per

(09:15):
completion fourteen passer rating one thirteen in QBR seventy three
yards per completion. That means you actually keep your eyes
down field, that you can throw a deep ball. If
Rock Purdy can win Sunday, it'll be a great field,
good story about a guy who is passed down by
thirty one teams. But they'll still be doubters. I'm not
gonna name names. You know who you are. There'll still

(09:37):
be doubters. But if Purdy loses, it will spark a
new round of arguments over whether or not he has
what it takes to lead the Niners to a title.
Never Mind, he's already twenty one and four as a
starter in four and one in the playoffs. But there
are obviously and by the way, we'll never know what
would have happen in the Eagles game because he has
an arm taken off. But he started that game and
he has the loss saddle to him. There are other

(09:59):
factors play same with Mahomes. You could say the two have,
as Yogi Berr would say, different similarities. A major reason
why brock perty has been so good. He does have
a fantastic supporting cast. Most good quarterbacks do. Montana had
Roger Craig and Jerry Rice and John Taylor and Brent

(10:21):
Jones and you right on down the road. Remember the catch,
Dwight Clark. Okay, the Niners have offensive talent Christian McCaffrey,
George Kittle, get it. You know, Brandon au Keebo, Samuel Yeah,
you'd expect a team that gets to the Super Bowl
to have that. And although Mahomes might not have the

(10:43):
same offensive weapons on his side of the ball. Although
give Travis Kelcey maybe the best tight end of all
time twenty three catches in three playoff games, Rashey Rice
has stepped up, but the Chiefs are pretty substantial defensively,
so just as Purty benefits from playing along maybe the
NFL's best collection of skilled position players. Okay, Mahomes doesn't

(11:04):
win these games by himself. He's got an elite defense.
I realize that offense has been the Chiefs hallmark during
quote the Mahomes era, but this year the offense was surprising.
The average Chiefs only ranked fifteenth in the league in
scoring and after not ranking lower than six in that
category in mahomes first five seasons in the league. We're

(11:25):
gonna dive more into these types of stats, types of matchups,
things to look for. Obviously a lot of betting stuff,
and will continue on with the Las Vegas storyline. But
at the end of the day, between tonight's three hours
and Saturday's four hours, we're just about going to cover
at all. Coming up the legend Bill Krackman. Krackenberger was

(11:47):
also hanging around Radio Row this week, even caught a
pass from Joe Montana. We'll talk about his thoughts in
the incredulous notion that we are hosting a Super Bowl
in Las Vegas. Plus we'll get into the meat of
the game. You know, about sixty eight percent of the
tickets are on the Chiefs, but the big money, the

(12:08):
sharp money, is actually coming on the forty nine ers.
You haven't seen that line move I how people lose
their mind? Well, how can Vegas? How can they possibly
make San Francisco a favorite? Okay, slow down, people, We're
not a monolith here, by the way, Just so you know,
a betting line is not a predictor. Vegas is not

(12:29):
in a fortune telling business. They're not in the predicting
the future business. They're in the minimized risk, maximized profit business.
So that betting line which you open to too, is
gone to two and a half depending on where the shop.
Two to two and a half miners are The favorite
are based on very sophisticated math models that result in
something called a power rating. If that line was so

(12:50):
far off, why hasn't it swung past zero with the
Chiefs a favorite? Because the line is where it should be.
I will tell you though, that most likely if the
Chiefs win and Travis Kelsey is the MVP and he
goes over his yards total, I don't know if the
books will be able to pay their light bill. But
that's the story for a different day. Coming up, we
bring in the crack Man, Bill Krackenberger. Do not miss

(13:12):

Speaker 2 (14:17):
All right back on the Bernie Frattle Show, Fox Sports Radio,
coming you live from the Tirak dot com studios here
in Las Vegas. You know, just before Super Bowl thirty seven,
the Las Vegas Convention in Visitors Authority was ready to
shell out more than two million dollars to launch its

(14:38):
new ad campaign during Super Bowl thirty seven. Instead, the
NFL refused to air it. So we've got a situation
where the old what happens here stays here never happened.
Twenty one years later, the super Bowl is in Vegas. Shaye,

(15:00):
do we have crack? He's texted me he's waiting on you.
So the long and the short of it is the
fact that we have a super Bowl here in Las
Vegas is incredible and we're efforting Bill Krackenberger here. We're
going to do a couple of things with him. First
of all, we are going to very much talk about

(15:21):
the situation where it was incredible to think that the
super Bowl would ever be in Vegas. They wouldn't take advertising.
In two thousand and four, Tony Romo had a situation
where he wanted a host of Fantasy football conference and
they said no. So when you consider how far we've

(15:44):
come thanks to Paspa being overturned in twenty eighteen, and
you realize what this incredible earning opportunity super Bowl is
for Las Vegas, and you're going to see ex players
in town, and I think you know Joe Buck was
way off base when he says a share we have him.

(16:06):
He steps to be a big fellow. All right, Crack,
are you with us? My man? Do we have Bill Krackenberger. Hello, Crack,
Sorry about that, buddy. I don't know what happened. I apologize.
You're with us now, I'm here. Hello, all right, can

(16:28):
you hear me? Crack?

Speaker 4 (16:29):
I got one, ye.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yep, okay, okay. I don't know what happened. I apologize,
But let's let's welcome in a gentleman in the legend,
you know, Bill Crackman Crack and Burger Crack. I want
to dive into this. We'll do two segments before we
get into the meat of the game, the props, everything else,
et cetera. I've been I've been regaling about the fact
that there was a time, uh, the NFL wouldn't even

(16:53):
take the advertising dollars from Las Vegas. And now in
Antoni Romo situation in twenty fifteen for the Fantasy Convention,
and now we've got the actual game here. Give us
your thoughts and the evolution and the incredulous nature of
how far Vegas has come.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Oh, Vegas has come a big way. You know, there
was some gambling specials back back in the day, and
you know we had to keep them off the main
grid networks. I was on like small little networks and
you know, they were saying, do you think Vegas is
any sports betting will ever come to anywhere outside the country,
And it was so hush hushed and so in the

(17:30):
closet and not talked about. But I absolutely I was
probably cynical nature thinking no because of politics and stuff,
but I never thought about the money involved. And now
we see the giant companies, the Fanduels, DraftKings, the bet
MGMs of the country, all legalized in many states, up
to thirty eight states around around the United States here,

(17:52):
and there's just so much money for mineral When the
Commissioner was on ESPN back in two thousand and two,
two thousand and three, and it says at less than
five percent of the people that watched the sport, whether
in the stadiums or at home, have any gambling action
on the games. And you know, most people that were
in the know. Of course we're all the people in

(18:14):
the know left, but even the people that were not
in the know, and just saying, really, I it was
a lot more than that. You're absolutely right, it was
a lot more than that. They just wouldn't accept it
because they didn't have their hands in the kitty. Now
of course, you know, the NFL, NHL, MBA, they're all
hiring people and you know Lebron just got hired by
a big company and everything's all, you know, fancy hockey

(18:37):
story now. But I'll just tell you this, you got
to be careful. They have to be a little more careful,
a little more responsible gaming wise. That's what I feel,
you know, I know because I grew up where I
grew up as a kid, I know we gambled as kids.
We were just out of control it, you know, literally
thirteen fourteen, fifteen, sixteen years old. But then again, if
you grew up in any you know, east coast towns

(18:57):
New York, Philly, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, I can go up
and down the coast even uh, you know, it was
a right of passage for us. But you just don't
want the kids to think it's fashionable and trendy and
it's so easy to do. It's like I say, I'm
mostly every single platform I'm on, every college in America
probably has a gambling problem today, every single college. And

(19:18):
even though it is it's it's kind of kind of
scary that to think like that. But I have so
many friends with their kids and and uh, you know,
their kids are all they always say about the stories
of the things that's going on in school and listen,
like I like, I like I've been saying, though, this
has to be addressed. There is a responsible gaming sector,

(19:38):
and they do a great job. In some of the
markets in New Jersey. It's unbelievable how people are vetted.
So they're doing a great job. I just hope they
continue that through the new states that are legalized. And
I'm always there to help, you know, try to help
the kids and try to listen. If I had children,
I wouldn't even want to gamble, so it's hardly I'm
in the gambling business and I wouldn't even want kids,

(19:59):
my own kids to get Apple. So to think about that.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Here's the thing, crack I was on the air in
two thousand and four in Detroit when the NFL refused
what stays what happens here stays here at two million dollars,
Oscar Goodman went off made it a national story. Fast
forward twenty one years later. My concern has always been
with the NFL prior to twenty eighteen, and now we've

(20:23):
got a team in Vegas, et cetera. Is that they
treated Vegas like a toxic waste stump that they would
not be able to prevent an Alex Karras Pole horning situation,
and the NFL or the integrity of the game, and
that always bothered me because people don't really realize the
checks and balances we have here in Las Vegas, and
how truly safe and the dignity and integrity of professional

(20:45):
sports betting here in Las Vegas.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
We have that big, beautiful stadium there. I passed it
by all the time, and I always say to myself, Wow,
look how far we have come here. Exactly right for me.
Now they're going to bring Major League Baseball here just tonight.
Our buddy says, sent me a bet. He's like, listen,
there's a good bet under Oakland underseason wins. And I'm thinking,
and then he went on to comment that this is

(21:12):
going to be the last year they're playing in Oakland.
They have no good players. I'm reading his words. They
have no good players that they did they'd have they
did have any there, They're going to get rid of them.
And I'm thinking, wait a minute, last year in Oakland.
Don't they have a couple more years? No, Well, so
we're getting it. We're getting a baseball team even I mean,
it's amazing how how everything has changed in a matter

(21:35):
of like you said, a few years here, baseball coming
in a couple of years. I actually don't want an
NBA team. I hope we don't have NBA, but it's
just that'll be every night. And we have had some
bet situations where the All Star Game here in the past,
but yet the summer was okay when the Lakers were here.
But we've had some situations in the past. I just, uh,
the streets are not made for this. They're they're not

(21:56):
built for it. You can't even move around down traffic.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Everyone.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
This is one of the worst traffic spots in the country,
has been Las Vegas, Nevada.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
So crack hang tight. I want to dive into the
meat of the game and some favorite prop bets and
your thoughts and some two's and donts on betting props
and having fun. We're gonna dive into that heavily. And
of course fees you mentioned Steve Fezick. He's on my
show every Saturday night during football, the Phasik five. But
crack hang hank tat right there, buddy, We're gonna get

(22:26):
into the meat of the game and get some of
your wisdom and thoughts. But first let's go to our guy,
Kevin Figures with the latest all Right Bernie.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
Friday Night in the NBA, the Lakers beat the Pelicans
in a one to thirty nine to one twenty two
shootout in Los Angeles. The' Angelo Russell leading the Lakers
with thirty points in that one, a triple double for
Demanta Sabonis as the Kings laith the Woods to Denver
one thirty five to one oh six. Kings had seven
players scoring double figures. Damian Lillard with twenty six points
from Milwaukee. They start curb stumped Charlotte one, twenty to

(22:54):
eighty four. That's their second victory under new head coach
Doc Rivers. Raptors nearly blew a twenty one point lead,
but held on to defeat Houston by three. Celtics the
first team to forty wins this season. They defeat Washington
won thirty three to one twenty nine thirty five points
for Jason Tatum. Atlanta got thirty seven points and twelve
assists from Trey Young. They defeated a short handed seventy
six or squad one twenty seven to one twenty one

(23:18):
and NFL News chiefs guard Joe Toney has officially been
ruled out of the Super Bowl with a pictorial injury.
All other notable names for Kansas City and San Francisco
were full participants in practice on Friday and will play.
Seattle reportedly hired former University of Washington assistant Ryan Grubb
as their offensive coordinator. Earlier in the DAVI, the Seahawks
signed Cowboys defensive line coach Aiden Dirty as their new

(23:39):
defensive coordinator.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
Back to Bernie Frado, all.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Right, thanks Kevin. Back to our guy Bill Krackman Krakenberger
of the Legend crack. As you know, one of the
things we've come a long way and is the amount
of variety in ways to bet the Super Bowl, including
approximately about a thousand different prop bets, their team prop
bets or are pl layer of prop bets. Individual give
the folks some dudes and don'ts for me. I'm not

(24:04):
a prop guy, but I'm not big on the I'm
certainly not big on the what I would call, you know,
shooting bebies at the moon props or needle and haystack props.
To me, it's either yes or no or over under.
But give your thoughts on the general rule of thumb
on prop betting for profitability.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Yeah, you know, years ago it was it was actually
much better years ago, I believe it. Or I mean
every season I used to win, you know, it's just
a matter of never lost the Super Bowls. As a
matter how many, how many, how many you know, literally
how much, how many units I would win even throughout
the season. I would win twenty literally twenty out of
twenty two weeks on football props. Now it's like thirteen fourteen.

(24:41):
It's just harder than ever to get down. You look
at like the national anthem and the halftime stuff that
used to be free money, literally free money, and now
you just can't get anything on it. I mean, not
only can you gotta get an out of it's very
small limits, but you know, lots of the books don't
even have it up here. You can't even fin out
here in Vegas. So uh, it was real simple to

(25:04):
have yea Auguste Blunts just doesn't take the amazing Cresken.
You just have to have common sense. Whoever singing the
national anthem go back on YouTube watch exactly where they
sung in the national anthem, get the timing down, pat
see how long it was, and and then you know
you're going to go by the current time that she's
singing it, or the ladder is. Just have someone in

(25:26):
the stadium out of one hundred people that are there,
you know security, There's so many different people that you
can have there and just do a little time job yourself,
find out what you know, what it is, find out
what it was easier, to find out the color of
the gatory, to find out that this stuff was so
much easier than it is now, but better yet, it
was so much easier because there was there was great

(25:47):
places to bet in the past, and I just don't
have them anymore. Secondly, like the fandels and draft cans
come up with the lines literally seconds after the championship games,
right after Kansas City won, and right after Samfrin one
proposition player props came up with the Super Bowl instantly.
And of course they're coming up seven no, not actually

(26:08):
fourteen days ahead of time and with for minimal limits
one hundred dollars two hundred dollars limits. So I'm used
to games the props coming up on the day of
the game. The Sunday, Monday, Thursday night props come up
to day of the game. That doesn't happen anymore, so
they literally someone will iron them out. There's so many
smart groups out there now, they will iron them out
for the one hundred dollars limits. And by the time

(26:29):
that you know, comes to full limits, I don't know
if there's any meat on the bone. And last year's
Super Bowl, I actually didn't make any money because there
was seventy some points scored, and I'm an underdue. If
that happens again this year, guarantee I'll be losing or
breaking even that best because I like to bet a
lot of unders. And by the way, it's gonna be
hard to believe this. I haven't bet. I've only bet

(26:51):
about twenty five percent of my prop bets because I
wait until Saturday and Sunday, especially Sunday right before you know,
I shouldn't say before game time. I'll start Sunday morning,
probably after my Fox Show, probably even though in the
commercial of the Fox Show, you know, looking for the
unders unders on the key marquee players, under Kelsey, under Kittle,
under Mahomes, under Purdy, under all the key players, and

(27:14):
you know, I'll play them blindly. I don't have to
know anything. All I have to know is the public
is all over the overs, and they pushed them up
a couple extra yards, you know, so it's it's But
then again, that will not win if the game, if
there's a lot of a lot of points are scored.
But I'm definitely a favorite, definitely have a couple percent edge.

(27:34):
I'm betting those unders because of the inflated lines I'll
be getting compared to what the line should be.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Well, that's a very shrewd move. If you can wait
till right before kickoff and you're looking, for instance, the
receiving yards for Travis Kelcey is one example, it'll be
at his all time high and you'll get more value
than anywhere else. I want you to I am not
a prop player. I want you to create a couple
of props. And caught my eye one of them, Patrick
Mahomes over four and a half rushing attempts. I look

(28:01):
at it this way. You get to the fourth quarter,
if for any reason the chief tare behind, you'll see
them pull all the stops. You'll see I think Mahomes
take off more than once, even if they're ahead, they
might need to do it more. Score He's gone over
that total both games in the playoffs. Check I check
that all three games in the playoffs. And remember last
year he was hobbled, but the biggest play was a scrambled.
The bigger the game, the more Mahomes uses his legs.

(28:23):
Would you agree that over four and a half rushing
attempt for Patrick Mahomes might be a good play.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
I'll make the last the opening night at the Westgate
here when the west Gate opens their lines. That was
a big night to put your prop bets in. Used
to be a lottery, used to be giant lines. This
year there was about n less thirteen people online. Two
years ago there was thirty. Five years ago there was
one hundred. So there was about thirteen of us. And
one of the props that you know, I have a

(28:49):
really good I have two sources of props, two different
proper guys. These guys are the I like to call
them the bugs, the geniuses, the nerves of the industry
that are sitting down, sitting, you know, sitting back with
back tested day that you know, looking at the different
openers and comparing it to the inefficiency they filled in
the market. Well, you just hit on one of the
fifteen I bet, and we haven't talked about it ahead

(29:09):
of time or anything.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Really.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Fortunately, I bet the under. I bet under four and
a half under four and a half rush attempts on
my homes and that's what I bet. Hard to believe,
but I'm going to send you the ticket.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
I want to text you, well, no, it's all good,
my man.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
Again, I want to text you anyway. I say, look,
if you believe you hit on one of the fifteen, there's
almost two hundred and seventy that went up the first
night I played literally you know one percent of them,
and here you got literally you picked one of them.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
So funny way, yeah, let me ask you about this one.
The Niners have a kicker, Jake Moody from Michigan. He
missed some long caicks this year. But I found Kyle
Shanahan to be very conservative in big games. You got
perfect conditions indoors. His total for points scored over seven
and a half. They get two touchdowns and he makes
both extra points. There's two. If he makes two field goals,

(29:58):
that gets you to eight. It's plus money. Again. I
didn't fire on this, but it caught my eye. Your thoughts?

Speaker 4 (30:05):
Sure, sure, but then what line did you see.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Seven and a half overrunder for Jake Moody points scored
the kicker for the forty nine ers.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
I've seen that one today earlier today. You know we
are we are actually we're on well we're on punts
and punts being long, nothing on field goals. But I
really didn't really didn't look into this market too much
as far as kicks go. Now, did you bet this yet.

Speaker 7 (30:33):
Burnie or no?

Speaker 2 (30:33):
No? I haven't fired on any props yet and the
only one there. Also, it's not my listen, we've talked
about this. Know yourself? Is it better? Know what you're
good at? Know what? Yeah? One other one? And again
these are the exact These are the exact props I avoid. Okay, sure,
I'm gonna give you an example. But it's forty to

(30:54):
one that neither team will get a sack. That's tempting
to me.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Your thoughts, well, you know what, we actually lean to
the undersacks, So uh, you know, the forty to one.
You could probably even shop and get higher no secks,
But that, you know what, the more I think about it,
that seems pretty high. I usually don't bet those one
way markets where some things just fuck forty to one.
But that just sounds like something that you want to
just throw a peanut bet on or something. I don't

(31:20):
mind doing that. It's a fun bet. You could pick
a couple of them. You just don't want to go like,
oh and twenty on on. You know, bet you're betting
ten bucks or twenty dollars on. But they're kind of
fun little bets, and I have no problem with you
picking forty to one shot. As matter of fact, I'll
just tell you tonight, I actually look for uschek first
catch enough first catch anytime touchdowns I see bet MGM.

(31:43):
I'll use that because the're a sponsor of my Sunday
Fox show. Uh they have ten to one. Uh you
know that that that's just anytime touchdowns. I'll bet something
on that. But I'll bet like ten percent of what
I would have bet on our normal prop. So if
I'm betting two thousand on a prop, a normal prop,
I bet two hundred bucks on that. I have no
problem with w you want to really bet a lot
of the yes no props and believe it or not,
the edge is on the no. It's not fun.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
That's correct.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
One.

Speaker 8 (32:09):
You know that.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
That's that's the best. I like to make a lot.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Thought with Bill Crackman Crack and Birder, the legend who,
by the way, caught a pass from Joe Montana the
other night. Don't hope Montana. I hope Montana complimented you.

Speaker 7 (32:21):
He did.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
I'm so glad he threw me to tent. You know.
I told him, I said, Joe, listen, I see the
first one you did throw a post rat a post
to the kid and he missed the ball. I don't
want to do that.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
You got to do.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
I'm just going to take twenty steps turn around picking
the gun exact Yeah, exactly what a lot of money?
He said, Okay, you got it, and he did it
and I hit it, and I'm glad I caught.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
It, all right, Crack. The thing people love to hear
most is any particular wagers that you have fired on
or that you like maybe if you want to pick
one property, if you have a thought on the side
of the total. Uh, those are what folks love to
hear from you.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
The rare Super Bowl I do. I did play Kansas
City and I like to see you. Mister Walters yesterday
confirmed that with the newspaper. But I did play Kansas
City Chiefs, and it's unusual you can get this that
I bet. I bet that, but I'll have more on
the props. I like over on punts yards, So look
forward Jesskin to have you know. I like his over
fifty six and a half yards ver as.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Long as the month forty nine ers.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
Yes on the forty nine ers. It's indoor and we're
in the highest elevation ever of any Super Bowl play.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
And you know you could have a situation late in
the game where there's no one on the return in
a could bounce and role. I love that play. May
I may break ranks. So you like Kansas City. Now,
the consensus seems to be that it will be a
relatively low scoring game. I think it'll go under forty
seven and a half.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
Your thoughts, Yeah, you know, we have a couple of
sportsbooks in Talent here. I noticed I know the stations
in the South Point went up to forty eight. It
looks tempting to bet the under, but I also made
another bet all length of all the touchdowns scored seventy
four and a half yards or more. So I'm looking
for a lot of touchdown, so I can't bet the under,

(34:02):
even though it's two separate independent bets. No real opinion.
A lot of these Super Bowls go tend to go over.
I know Kansas City plays a low scoring second half
in a lot of their games. Thing too, they do
what they have to do to win, and they may
just have to be scoring in the second half in
this game.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
We'll see what happens tomorrow. I'll dive into this. I
haven't fired on anything yet. I'm keeping my eyes open.
Crack great job. Has always until the folks where they
can find you Sunday morning with your show.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
Count Down the kickoff seven to ten am, Vegas time,
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (34:33):
Just make sure, guys, it's.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Just one other game. Do not over bet your bankroll.
I know it's easy to over bet. Oh my god,
super Bowl I have to have tons of bet Listen,
don't over bet. That's all I can tell you. In
the end, a lot of times people shake their head
and say, what did I do to myself? All right,
so responsible gambling. I'll close with that.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
That's what you do. Crack great stuff. We'll see you soon, pal.
Thanks pleadse It's Bill Krackenberger, The legend crack Man. You
can follow him at Bill crack on Twitter. Coming up.
You didn't think we'd forget shall You'll be taking your
calls at midnight, the midnight hour. I think we might
have the most polarizing topic that we've had since January first,

(35:12):
when we kick this off, the Taylor Swift Effect, Taylor Swift,
Travis Kelcey. I just mentioned it, and people come at
me on Twitter. There are haters, there are lovers, there
are people in between. I want to hear your thoughts
on this whole phenomenon. And as I've said before, the
most boring conversations are when everybody agrees. So if you're

(35:36):
hating on this, we want to hear from you. If
you think it's lovable, we want to hear from it.
If you're neutral and you don't care and no, by
the way, we always have a two part question. If
you'd rather not weigh in on that, you can also
weigh in on this. We keep hearing it every year
someone brings it up. Should Super Bowl Monday the day after?
Should it be a national holiday once and for all?

(35:58):
Because you all know half the folks take the damn
day offer, even if they go to work. They've been
hooked up to a blender all day Sunday, so they're
not into working. So the midnight hour your calls coming
up top of the hour eight seven, seven, nine to
nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six six
three six ' nine The Taylor Swift Effect. By the way,

(36:19):
her plane will be landing about five pm Saturday night
here in Las Vegas from Tokyo. No issue. She's not
going to miss the game. But Taylor Swift to Travis kelcey,
are you sick of it? Do you love it? Are
you somewhere in between? And shoot? Super Bowl Monday be
a national holiday. Should be be over it once and
for all. By the way, shortly after the show, Shay

Kelce Love Affair, your thoughts? Are you sick of seeing them?
The whole forty four seconds on air they show We're
jumping up and down and hugging everybody every time they score.
By the way, if you don't think the Taylor Swift
effect is a real thing, the Chiefs when Taylor Swift's

(38:06):
and attendants, they are nine to three when Taylor Swift
is not there. The Chiefs are five and three with
Swift and attendants can't make this stuff up. The Chiefs
offense averages twenty four points a game without Taylor Swift,
the offense averages nineteen points per game, and Travis Kelcey
when Taylor Swift is there, he averages seventy nine receiving yards.

(38:31):
With Taylor Swift not there, fifty one receiving yards. Yeah,
the Taylor Swift effect is real. It's also real on
the additional viewers that it will bring into the game
from the distaff side, many more women talking about this.

Speaker 7 (38:48):
Now.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
You're not gonna be able to get Taylor Swift props
here in Vegas. The only props are gonna get are
the ones decided on the field. Right, if it's not
in the box score, it's not decided on the field.
You're not gonna get the Nation Lanthemire. You're not going
to get the Gatorade here, Taylor Swift here. You'll have
to get those in far away places. But if you
look hard enough, they're not hard to find. So we
want to hear from you eight seven, seven, nine and

(39:10):
nine on Fox eight seven seven, nine nine six six
three sixty nine, The Taylor Swift Effect. How's it affected you?
You know they're going to show her a lot on Sunday.
I don't know how much. I don't care. I don't
I'm in the middle. I think it's cool. Whatever doesn't
bother me one bit. But we've got a lot of haters,
and you're welcome to call in the most boring conversations
when everybody agrees. So I want to see what the

(39:30):
varying opinions are. And part two as well, Is it time?
Should we finally make the United States finally make Super
Bowl Monday the day after a national holiday? Wyley, Hell not,
people have doing it on their own anyway. It's probably
time after fifty eight super bowls on Monday, We'll see
where shakes out. Eight seven, seven, nine, and nine on

(39:52):
Fox eight seven, seven, nine, nine, six sixty three six '
nine The Taylor Swift Effect. Your call's next? And should
super Bowl Monday be a holiday? Keep it locked? You're
listening to the Bernie Frattle Show in Fox Sports Radio.
That's right, you heard the man. The Bernie Fraddle Show

should be, as is the case with the great callers
we've had since we started this segment five weeks ago. Yes,
it's time for the midnight hour, and just as I

(40:33):
thought this might be, tonight's topic might be the most
polarizing of them all. If you can't get the phone
lines are already jamm, We're going to get to all
of you and including the crew. We'll take calls all
the way up to one am, so if you don't
get in right away, keep trying. So let's get the
party started. Andy from Oregon, you are of first my friend.
Your thoughts on the Taylor Swift Effect.

Speaker 9 (40:55):
How's it going, Bernie?

Speaker 2 (40:56):
Good?

Speaker 10 (40:57):
You pretty good. My opinion is is that everybody who's
got a problem with it really needs to figure out
what the hell's wrong with their life, because it's like,
she's not asking to get put on TV. People just
want to make more money, and you know, that's the
way the world works. And then I think that, yeah,

(41:18):
Monday should be a day off because why the hell not?

Speaker 2 (41:21):
Sure?

Speaker 10 (41:21):
Super Bowl? The super Bowl is a great day. So yeah, anyways,
that's my opinion.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
All right, fair enough, Andy, appreciate you checking in, and
by the way, for the record, I should give my
opinion too. I have no problem with this. It's all
in fun. We are a nation again. We do not
have royalty in this country. Our entertainers and our athletes
who are entertainers, they are our royalty. So does it

(41:48):
surprise you that you put a Taylor Swift in an
NFL game, it's going to draw attention. Or Travis Kelcey,
who may be the greatest tit end of all time,
and clearly he's like he's got a boyhood crush. I
mean this this thing is on, man. I don't know goes,
I don't know where it ends up. Hell, but uh,
it's it's fun to watch. Okay, So that's raw, mat,
but you may not agree. Go back out to the

(42:08):
full lance, Kyle. You're in Las Vegas. Your thoughts on
this situation?

Speaker 11 (42:14):
Hey, bernon, good afternoon, evening, morning, whatever you want to
call it, Buddy, back.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
At my friend.

Speaker 11 (42:20):
Hey, first, can I say that you and mister Mahler
are the absolute best at the late night sports talk.
I'll listen to you, guys. I listened to you weekends.
I listened to him throughout the week. Love the show,
love the seconds. Here's here's the first thing with the
Taylor Swift thing. Like the other caller said, I don't care.

Speaker 8 (42:43):
Let the let their relationship bloom, Let it blossom, let
them grow. Its bringing attention. It's bringing a whole new
generation of non football watchers to the game. Even if
they don't even pay attention to the game, they're watching it.
And we all know that view equals money. So if
that's the case, let them, let them have that. The

(43:04):
other thing is with Monday being a day.

Speaker 12 (43:08):
Off or whatever. If it's a paid holiday.

Speaker 11 (43:11):
Oh yeah, I'm down for it. But if it's a
non paid holiday, two rules.

Speaker 4 (43:18):
I'm going to work.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Kyle. Always good stuff. We look forward to your calls
on Friday night. Thanks for checking in you as far
as so, we're two for two. I mean, I'm waiting
for the hater and it's all good. Look, man, if
that's how you feel, you know, maybe you could just
shake it. Off if you if you've got bad bloods,
you would have did there. See I'm a hip hipster
our guy in Berto from San Diego, Como.

Speaker 13 (43:42):
Stave Ernie Comosa a story Felici too Yo, tamn great show,
like always listen. Regarding the first topic about fifth, I
think it's great. I think it brings awareness for a
lot of things. And you know, the haters gonna hate,
so they're gonna be like that all the time. But

(44:04):
I think it's great. And I want to see the
ending of the Super Bowl whether what's gonna be the
phase they show when the Niners beat the.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Chiefs love see I I haven't given my pick yet,
but foiler alerted. I think the Niners are gonna win
as well. And and you know what if they if
the Chiefs do lose that, what would the Taylor Swift
narrative be? Then you bring up a good point. Should
Monday be a holiday? Super Bowl holiday in bertol Oh?

Speaker 13 (44:33):
Definitely? Definitely. Nobody is useful at work after the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
That's right, It's true. It's true. I can't disagree with that.
Eight seven seven nine nine six six three six nine
nine nine Fox. The Taylor Swift effect. How has it
affected you? What are your thoughts? So far? No hitters yet,
but we'll see perhaps Stephen from Kansas City as an
alternative opinion, Steven, your.

Speaker 9 (44:57):
Thoughts, Bernie, great, great topic. My alternative opinion is, I
don't think they're leaning into this enough. Honestly, there's a
reason the Dallas Cowboys have been quote unquote America's team
for thirty years and never won anything. It's because or
the Raiders or whoever you picture that people tune in

(45:21):
because they want to know what the conversation is going
to be the office. You know, they used to call
water cooler conversations, right, what are they What are they
going to talk about on Monday morning? So as I
suspect if the Chiefs are fairly in control most of
this game, because the Niners can't defend a bubble screen

(45:41):
and Stagnolo's going to put party through a meat grinder,
that there's going to be nothing to watch except the
commercials and Taylor Swift. So so I think we're headed
toward at least one hundred and twenty million people watching
just to see what was going to happen. I think
the all time for any programming is one hundred and

(46:02):
twenty five million of the moon landing according to Wikipedia.
So I think we're definitely going to get all time.
If they want the biggest ratings they've ever had, I
would show Taylor Swift for most of the second half
if one team is in control. I don't think this
is a bad thing at all.

Speaker 11 (46:18):
I don't.

Speaker 9 (46:18):
I think this draws draws people in. I see all
these online pictures of women making their parties. You know,
they're already creating Taylor Swift parties on the on these
news sites. So I think this is this is nothing
but positive. I mean I would, I would. I don't
need a holiday on Monday. But this is this is

(46:39):
expanding the NFL's reach, This is not limiting it. Do
you agree or this I one agree.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Thanks so much for checking in, Steven. Look, the bottom
line is you mentioned it bringing more viewers. There's no
question it's bringing more viewers. And the Super Bowl is
become an event for people who don't even care about football,
don't even know about football, they were going to watch
it anyway. All this does is increase that audience while
they're reading their nachos and cheese dipping pizza and their

(47:05):
favorite beverage. It's an all the event. It's an event.
And look, the talk is, well, we'll Taylor Swift gonna
make it for the game. She's gonna make it. Okay,
My show signs off tonight about two am. I'm told
her flight will take off. Her private plane will take
off from about five am Pacific. She'll land five pm
here in Las Vegas Saturday night. She'll sleep it off

(47:25):
on the plane. She'll shake it off, and hater's gonna
hate Haity eight and then deal with her bad blood.
And that's enough of that, all right, Andrew from Bakersfield,
you're up next your thoughts.

Speaker 14 (47:35):
All right.

Speaker 15 (47:36):
I don't know if this is correct, but I heard
there's a prop that for her Taylor Swift camera time
and it's forty four seconds over under. But all I
have to say about it is this. I've heard of
conspiracy theorists that say that the NFL is all planned out,

(47:58):
like wrestling and stuff like that, and so I think
the NFL shouldn't show Taylor Swift at all through the
whole game unless it's the last touchdown there's no flags
and they're sure that the Chiefs won, then they can
show her or show her after the game.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
All right, should Monday be a holiday?

Speaker 15 (48:22):
Not a national holiday? But somehow you could make it so.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
You don't have to go to work, well, which people
do anyway, So all right, appreciate you checking in. And look,
I am not one of those folks who believes in
conspiracy theories, particularly in the NFL, but you know, I'm
not going to try to talk anybody out of it.
People think what they think. As far as the Taylor
Swift prop, I did hear that forty four seconds which
is the amount of time she was on TV and

(48:48):
gets Baltimore over under. I would you incline to maybe
think about betting the under depending on its member. It's
time is valuable in the super Bowl, but she's going
to get her TV time and frankly people want that.
Mike carbon up a good, good point, Jason Smith, Mike
Armon every night, week nights from seven to eleven Pacific.
People gonna hate watch too. Remember hate, the opposite of

(49:10):
love is not hate, it's indifference. You have to have
that same emotion invested to love and hate eight seven, seven, nine,
nine six six three sixty nine. Your thoughts on the
Taylor Swift effect Emmett from Olympia. Good evening, Emmitt, what
are your thoughts on the subject matter.

Speaker 14 (49:25):
Good evening, Bernie, it's been a while.

Speaker 8 (49:27):
How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (49:28):
Good, sir?

Speaker 1 (49:28):
You I'm good now.

Speaker 16 (49:30):
Look I kind of have like two parts to this question,
because I'm not gonna lie to you, Bernie, Like going
on TikTok or Instagram and seeing like every other post
something about Taylor Swift is a little annoying and it's
but at the same time I understand it.

Speaker 13 (49:44):
And I said this a couple of months ago.

Speaker 16 (49:46):
I believe with either Ben or Cavino and Rage where
look the NFL. They're making their money, they're making their ratings, right.
I can't hate on them for you know, showing Taylor
Swift for involving it, you know, involving like this season
kind of around Taylor Swift, because I believe it was.

Speaker 17 (50:02):
And the first caller or.

Speaker 16 (50:04):
Second caller is it was like Andy or Kyle was saying,
how how much people is bringing into you know, the football.

Speaker 4 (50:10):
I mean, I have like family.

Speaker 16 (50:11):
Members who aren't like the biggest you know NFL fans, right,
Like they're very casual, but they're invested just because of
Taylor Swift and that's what the NFL needs. I mean,
the NFL is trying to expand their brand. I mean,
look at them going to other countries, look at them going,
you know, getting Amazon and uh with the other one
Peacock for playoff games. But I think for the NFL,

(50:32):
this makes perfect sense. And you're gonna want to show
her every second you can. And about the prop bet,
Bernie that the Andrew guys from Bakerfield was just saying,
was look forty four seconds to me for how much
like the NFL is like in factory with Taylor Swift,
and how much like money they can make up people
watching her? I think they're gonna be I think Ben
the over is a safe bet on that. I think

(50:53):
it's pretty low. Forty four seconds. And the answer the
final part, I know I ramble and Bernie, but.

Speaker 9 (50:57):
Should Monday be a holiday?

Speaker 1 (50:59):
Yes?

Speaker 18 (51:00):
It should because look if someone isn't you know, completely
mangled off there, you know what Sunday night, they're going
to be in a food coming so haven recover from
that from being twenty five too many chicken wings on
Sunday night.

Speaker 16 (51:10):
So look you got to have the day off. I mean,
what like people are going to like the other day
with saying people are going to be wowvy at work.

Speaker 4 (51:17):
People are probably.

Speaker 16 (51:18):
Calling out, but save them for getting in trouble from
calling out and making a holiday.

Speaker 2 (51:23):
All right, thanks im good stuff. Emmitt mentioned betting. You
can't bet anything on Taylor Swift here in Las Vegas,
we don't do it that way. It's got to be
decided on the field, it's got to be in a
box score. But in faraway places, in other countries and
some of the foreign websites, there are some interesting Taylor
Swift bets. The score they're offering betters, Well, you can

(51:43):
bet what will be the predominant color of Taylor's top
which he's wearing at the top prior to opening kickoff? No,
not her jacket, but her top. Oh, by the way,
will Taylor be showing on screen? You're respective of time
the over under five and a half time. That excludes
pregame and postgame. This is only from kickoff to the

(52:04):
final whistle. Will they show Taylor Swift more or less
than five and a half times? Will Taylor Swift be
mentioned during an MVP speech irrespective of who wins the MVP,
will Taylor Swift be showing during the national anthem? Will
Taylor Swift be showing during the halftime show? All right?
Those types of things. This one, to me is the

(52:26):
goofiest one. If for any reason, let's say the Chiefs win,
would Travis Kelcey propose to Taylor Swift on the field
after the game, But he's got to be shown on
the television broadcast and proposing to her on the field
to play. These are the rules. If you bet yes,
one hundred dollars brings you back twenty five hundred. I'm

(52:49):
not buying that one. You might as well light your
money on fire. It'll keep you warm. How about Swift
and Kelsey to publicly announce their engagement prior to her
first concert in Toronto this year November twenty first, Now that, yes,
we'll get you three hundred if you've bet one hundred dollars.
So they've gone gaga over this. Sixty eight million people

(53:10):
will place bets. They'll be twenty three billion dollars in
wagers placed on the issue's Super Bowl, legally and illegally
across the country, and many of them are offshore bets
having to do with Taylor Swift coming up more were
your calls the Taylor Swift Effect eight seven seven, nine
ninety six six three sixty ninth. And I want to
bring in the crew as well, Kevin, Mark and Shay

(53:31):
and get their thoughts. This story has a lot of
angles and we're just touching upon it. I'm Bernie Frattle.
We're coming to line from the Las Vegas Fox Sports
Radio tire Act dot Com studios. Keep it locked ready, here,
you're listening to the Bernie Frattle Show on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, back on the Bernie Frattle Show, Fox Sports
Radio Company live from Las Vegas to tire Act dot
Com studios. Take up to two am Pacific, five am Eastern.

(53:54):
We continue jam packed phone lines the Taylor Swift Effect.
Russell from Philadelphia, Europe. Next, Good evening, Yes, good morning sir.

Speaker 17 (54:04):
How are you doing good?

Speaker 2 (54:05):
Thank you well.

Speaker 13 (54:07):
In my opinion, I watch a football game for the athlete,
not for some celebrity. I mean our celebrities and athletes
controlling our country.

Speaker 12 (54:15):
Now.

Speaker 17 (54:16):
I mean, she's doing a lot for football, but I
mean I want to see you.

Speaker 14 (54:20):
I want to see it again.

Speaker 19 (54:21):
I'm not interested in her.

Speaker 10 (54:23):
I mean, I mean that's just my opinion.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Well, your opinion is valued the most important.

Speaker 1 (54:30):
Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (54:31):
I'm sorry, sir, and here's my question.

Speaker 13 (54:34):
Wait, wait till the season is over?

Speaker 9 (54:35):
What does she have for this relationship is going to go?

Speaker 4 (54:39):
You don't have for eachr.

Speaker 2 (54:42):
Well, see I was waiting for that. You're keeping it real. Look,
fifty percent of marriages end up in divorce, never even
gotten engaged yet, So you know you're you're not wrong, Russell.
If if you look at her history, I'm not wishing
on him. I appreciate your candor. By the way, should
Super Bowl Monday be a holiday?

Speaker 20 (54:58):
No, I'll tell you why you gotta poor people in
this country.

Speaker 21 (55:02):
That's funny thing.

Speaker 17 (55:04):
Former President John Kennedy he doesn't have a holiday.

Speaker 13 (55:07):
I mean people celebrate the holiday that he got shot.
That's I mean that that was a sad event.

Speaker 19 (55:12):
But he don't have a holiday.

Speaker 2 (55:15):
This is a damn good call, Russell. Appreciate you man.
Do you one more thing? Go ahead?

Speaker 17 (55:20):
I mean that funny thing.

Speaker 14 (55:21):
Look for that for Tom Brady.

Speaker 20 (55:23):
This managers you can score on under Tada sports.

Speaker 12 (55:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
No, listen, I appreciate the varied opinions.

Speaker 16 (55:32):
Here.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Every Friday night at midnight Pacific three in Philly time,
Russell let's hear from you again. Enjoy your enjoy the
game Sunday. When Taylor Swift comes down, just look away,
my man, grab your shot, grab yourself A cheese day
from Angels on ninth.

Speaker 17 (55:44):
Right, thanks for taking my core, how the weekend.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Appreciate you too, Pal, Fernando, Las Vegas, how you doing
doing good?

Speaker 19 (55:53):
Barny good show Sunday. Will be attending my ninth Super
Bowl in person.

Speaker 2 (55:58):
Outstanding. You got me by five. I've only intended four.

Speaker 19 (56:03):
I've been to all the ones in southern California and
the ones up north at Santa Clair and at Stafford
Stadium a long time ago. But anyway, Yeah, the Taylor
Swift effect is great. It's fun, it's awesome. It's a
good thing. And I think Monday should be a Super
Bowl holiday.

Speaker 4 (56:22):
Why not celebrate very fare enough.

Speaker 19 (56:27):
And I'd rather see Taylor Swift and camera than Jerry Jones.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
Will end on that one. All right, back on to
the phones. Uh uh, I've lost my place. That was Fernando, right,
Is Jerome up next? Thanks Jay, Thanks buddy, I haven't
been drinking, folks, I promise Jerome from Charleston. Sorry, I
lost my place there A big fellow, what do you got?

Speaker 12 (56:52):
He was just a regular looking guy, like regular running
the middle guy, didn't have any money, didn't have anything.
Not about the Money's about his stream. She wouldn't look
twice at him.

Speaker 2 (57:04):
Damn, that's why we have this segment. Go ahead, keep going.

Speaker 12 (57:08):
No way she looked twice at him. I've been right
about this. I mean, look at lobby women attracted to
these athletes and the other team is beautiful woman, A
guy like me talk to hey, I wonder she wouldn't
look twice at me. Man, she wouldn't. I wouldn't give
a second call nothing, No way.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
You stay, you stand whine because he reminds me I
played one year minor league baseball. We had a buddy
on the team. He really liked Rod Stewart, and my buddy,
one of the other guys in the team says, the
hell with Rod Stewart? Man, Yeah, I realize he gets
more strange butt to the rental car. But to give
that guy a polstal route, he wouldn't get any of that.

(57:49):
They wouldn't look at him twice, right, all right, go ahead, drum.

Speaker 12 (57:54):
A couple of months ago, I was attracted to the
younger woman. You know at the at the hull, so
I go to I bought her candy. I bought her
some flowers, you know, a little flowery thing and a
gift card. Auty said with wily walked away. I've never
bothered her ever again?

Speaker 1 (58:11):
Did you know you play for the chiefs?

Speaker 21 (58:13):
Man?

Speaker 12 (58:14):
No, there's my life, okay, there's there's attraction to me.
Nobody is You're wrong, no attraction nothing.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
Will you definitely keep your game? You keep taking your swings, man,
Remember baby Bruce struck out thirteen hundred times, still hit
seven hundred our runs? Should Monday be a holidays?

Speaker 14 (58:33):
Your own kidding?

Speaker 12 (58:34):
No? And I'm not getting in the Hall of Fame either.

Speaker 2 (58:38):
It's early, my man, it's early. We haven't even put
to the vote yet. All right, I want want to
hear from you in the midnight hour. This is what
I'm talking about. We're getting see, we're getting things stirred
up here. David and Kansas you're up next? What do
we got my friend David Toto? Were we still in
Kansas anymore? Did David leave us going? Once?

Speaker 4 (59:01):
David?

Speaker 2 (59:01):
There, that's one hell of a Marcel Marceaul imitation. If
we give ovid David there you are, David in Kansas.
You're up next. Hello, Hello, Hello, we have a phone
line issue. Take what David? I think we got an issue?
Call back? Call back? Yeah, we think we think it's

(59:22):
your line, David, call back. We'll get you back in.
Billy from Minnesota. Your thoughts on this little topic we've
got tonight.

Speaker 9 (59:29):
You know, the way I look at it is like
I've seen her once, you know, on TV with you know,
following the Chiefs, and of course we all knew what
was going on secretly, you know, but at every game,
you know there, you know, they're always on national TV.
It's like, what are the announcers supposed to say the
third time they see her or or show her, And
then the fourth time I was like, oh, she's that's

(59:51):
the same. And then her mom never really joins in.

Speaker 17 (59:55):
His mom never really joins in.

Speaker 4 (59:56):
I would like to see, you know, what, does this
mom play piano or something like having like a little
sidebark Dear Christmas?

Speaker 19 (01:00:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 12 (01:00:07):
But in other words, they could.

Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
Show her any tools and we wouldn't know the difference.

Speaker 17 (01:00:13):
I mean, I'm not at the game. They could just
show anything, and she's always jumping around she's always and
if she doesn't want to be a camera, she wouldn't
be against that class. That's all I'm saying. You know,
no question, and you know what, you know what, I
really dig your motown bumper music, and I wish I
wish you would switched places with Ben Maylor because because he.

Speaker 11 (01:00:36):
He should be on mornings. You should be the night guy.

Speaker 9 (01:00:40):
And I don't want I don't want Monday being a
holiday because I have enough time, enough day screwing up
my garbage.

Speaker 13 (01:00:48):
Pick up.

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
All right, good stuff, Billy. Yes, I played motome music
for a reason. I've had this show in this time
slot since September Labor Day of twenty eight. You know,
I do it for a reason. I believe we are
trying to create an entertainment product here, and bumper music's
part of it. Of course. You know, my Detroit roots
motown music is timeless, it's universal, and it's feel good music.

(01:01:12):
And thanks to my guy, Mark Ramsey hitting the mark.
He knows. We've talked about this, as we have with
my prior producers. Poppy from San Diego, My man, what's
up Poppy?

Speaker 21 (01:01:22):
Hey, my Matt Bernie. Hey, I'm just excited to hear.
You know, you've been on super Bowl Week and you
can't wait to hear the stories you're gonna tell us.
But you know on this subject, Taylor.

Speaker 22 (01:01:32):
Like, hey, I'm not even watching the super Bowl to
watch the team's.

Speaker 14 (01:01:35):
Like, you know, I remind me when I was with
my Grandma and.

Speaker 21 (01:01:38):
Magical watching telenovella soap opera, like we got Taylor Swims.
She's the main actress and the and the co the.

Speaker 22 (01:01:45):
Other star, the co actor is Travis Kelce, Like I
want to know, Like I'm just watching the super Bowl
with my food and saying, like, hey, Travis Kelce gonna
get her engaged, And I think I'm predicting that he's
gonna get out the engagement ring if everything goes out right, and.

Speaker 21 (01:02:00):
You know the chiefs Wayne, He's gonna give her the
engagement ring. And then that's going to bring a big
ratings because it's gonna be a big soap o product.
That's the reason why I'm watching it, Bernie, Like I
wouldn't see what's going to happen with Taylor Swift and
Travis Kelce. I can't really get enough.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Of it, Bernie, All right, fair enough, should Monday be
a holiday.

Speaker 21 (01:02:19):
Hey, yeah, and I think Monday to be a holiday
for all the people that are gonna be wasting and
all their dress out there.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
All right, Poppy, you take care out there at San Diego.
And I gotta tell you, wouldn't that be a son
of a gun if the Chiefs lost it? Then Travis
Kelce proposes, she says, no, Oh my god, I'm going
to hell on a scholarship for even putting that out
in the universe. Were goal to take more of your calls?
Eight seven seven nine nine six six three six nine.
We're just getting started, man, that's some good stuff. I

(01:02:47):
Lot Russell, Fernando Jerome, everybody. By the way, David, you
get your phone thing figured out. She'll take care of you.
Get you got a call back with a good phone.
In the meantime, hey, let's go back to our guy,
Kevin figures with the latest, All.

Speaker 6 (01:02:59):
Right, Bernie Friday.

Speaker 5 (01:02:59):
In the NBA, the Lakers defeated the Pelicans one thirty
nine to one twenty two, D'Angelo Russell leading the Lakers
in scoring with thirty points.

Speaker 6 (01:03:09):
There.

Speaker 5 (01:03:09):
We also had the Lebron James by the way third
twenty one points and fourteen assists for the Lakers Kings,
dominating Denver one thirty five to one oh six, snapping
the Nuggets three game wins streak. It was Milwaukee won
twenty in Charlotte eighty four, just the second victory for
the Bucks under new head coach Doc Rivers. He also
had wins for Toronto, Atlanta and Boston, who picked up

(01:03:30):
their fortieth victory of the season, a one thirty three
to one twenty nine victory over Washington. Christaps porzingis thirty
four points and eleven boards against his former team.

Speaker 6 (01:03:39):
The final injury report is in for the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (01:03:42):
The Chiefs will be without Pro Bowl offensive guard Joe
Tooney as he continues to nurse that pictorial injury. Forty
nine Ers tight end George Kittle was a four participant
in Friday on Friday's practice after nursing a toe issue.

Speaker 6 (01:03:52):
He will play on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (01:03:54):
Seattle signed former Washington Huskies offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb to
the same position, while earlier in the day I hired
Cowboys assistant Aiden Dirty as their defensive coordinator. College basketball
Friday night in Nevada upsetting number twenty four San Diego State,
while Virginia Commonwealth picked up an ugly forty nine to
forty seven victory over eighteenth ranked Datson.

Speaker 6 (01:04:13):
Back to Bernie Frido.

Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
All right, Kevin, keep those vocal cords warmed up. We're
going to come back to you in a minute, but
let's go back to the phone lines. I believe we've
made contact with David and Kansas. David, we have our
fulle issues worked out well.

Speaker 20 (01:04:27):
I hope, So Ernieton you hear me, I can hear you.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
Go ahead. What are your thoughts on the whole deal?

Speaker 20 (01:04:33):
Well, I've called before. I'm a free market capitalism and
I believe in the free market and this is a
perfect example of it.

Speaker 12 (01:04:42):
Taylor. Swift is a product.

Speaker 20 (01:04:44):
It's put out there for people to buy, and they're
buying it, and a free market capitalism is the tide
that floats all boats. I'd like to also emphasize that
your willingness to talk with callers and to engage them
in a fun conversation is a very valuable product, and

(01:05:06):
it too will sell and people will buy it, and
free market capitalism will go to work for you.

Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
David.

Speaker 4 (01:05:15):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Monday. Does free market capitalism take a kick in the
nuts because everybody's hung over from Super Bowl should just
be a holiday.

Speaker 20 (01:05:25):
I think it should be a holiday because it's become
one of the great American institutions.

Speaker 12 (01:05:31):
We have holidays for a whole bunch.

Speaker 2 (01:05:32):
Of other stuff. All right, David, appreciate you.

Speaker 12 (01:05:36):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
You've called before. You're always welcome. We'll have another topic
every Friday night, midnight, the midnight hour before I go
to you, Kevin, I got to tell you, I'm not
gonna lie. Jerome. That got to me. He buys his
chick flowers Candy says, hello, treats are right, and you
know she, you know, she rides them like a rent
and mule. I mean, that's just wrong. It's rain on
opening day. That hurt my heart.

Speaker 6 (01:05:57):
Kevin, I lie, but it might have been a little
bit much.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
Berdie.

Speaker 5 (01:06:00):
Now he said this was a woman that he saw
or met at the hospital. That I hear that correctly.
Was this a nursing I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
But man, you take your swings. Man, you know, you
shoot your shot. But yeah, I just go ahead, man,
you gotta.

Speaker 6 (01:06:11):
Be a little little smooth with it.

Speaker 8 (01:06:12):
Thought.

Speaker 6 (01:06:12):
You can't just come in.

Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
You can't.

Speaker 5 (01:06:14):
You know, you mentioned like your babe Ruth. You can't
come in you know, guns blaze and throw a ninety nine.
You know, right off the bat, you gotta eat a
little bit, you can't.

Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
You better read the room. Yeah, you got to read
the room a little bit. But all right, So your
thoughts on the whole Taylor Swift fact as it were.

Speaker 5 (01:06:28):
Yeah, you know, it's I think a lot of callers
have pointed out from a marketing standpoint, it's one. It's
I can't even say it's one of the smartest things
the NFL has ever done. It kind of landed right
in their laps. They would have been ridiculous not to
lean into it, you know, showing her on camera. We
mentioned the average what is the over runder? You said,
it's forty four seconds seconds. Yeah, oh, probably go over
And the grand scheme doesn't really make that big of

(01:06:48):
a difference. How much attention do does do many of
us pay to the cutaways in between plays anyway, So
instead of cutting away to a random guy in Chiefs Jersey,
a random woman in a forty nine ers jersey, it's
gonna be Taylor Swift three out of the five times
instead of random fans. What difference does it really make?
Does a takeaway from the game at all. That's all
I've ever argued throughout this entire situation. I don't understand

(01:07:09):
why people get so upset over what they're showing the
fifteen to thirty seconds in between plays.

Speaker 6 (01:07:15):
It doesn't really matter.

Speaker 5 (01:07:17):
And if it's going to end up helping the NFL
and bring in a new audience, isn't that what you
should want? Don't you want to grow the game? Don't
you want more women and girls to be interested in
the game of football? Why wouldn't you be so? I
think it's I think it's a positive. I have no
issues with it whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
See, you just make it too much sense there.

Speaker 6 (01:07:33):
Yeah, why do you practical?

Speaker 11 (01:07:34):
You literally are.

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
Because this is an emotional thing, and I will only speculate.
We are in a society where people crave power, and
so what are the people who don't have power? Do
they want to steal power from the people who do
so by denigrating this situation Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, it
feels like perhaps that's the agenda. I don't want to
paint everybody with that br us Perhaps you're just annoyed,

(01:07:57):
whatever the reason, but we also have a situation in
this country. We do it with athletes, we do it.
With actors, we do it. We certainly do with politicians
and presidents. We elevate people to their highest level, only
to tear them down again. So listen the thing I
like about the midnight hour. And I know people are
gonna get sick of me saying this, but I mean it.
The most boring conversations are when everybody agrees. So we

(01:08:19):
have a good, varying sort of an amalgama of opinion. Today,
Kevin should be Monday after the game be a holiday.

Speaker 5 (01:08:27):
I don't know if it necessarily needs to be a holiday.
I mean, maybe there's a compromise in between. It can
be you know, a lot of players, or excuse me,
a lot of companies. Do you know remote work at
this point in time. Maybe it could be a half day.
Maybe you can come to work a little bit late
if you need to. But I mean, I don't hope
we need to necessarily lose a day of productivity because
it's the day after a football game.

Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
That's well, when there in lines the argument that some
people have made, you know, productivities down sixty percent, you
know the old deal. We're back today. Well, Mike call
in sick. We did oh yeah, hoy, it didn't sound good.
You know, people have that sick voice, right, you know, hey,
come on, we've all done it right, I'm not going
to make it end today. Okay, will even sound good?
That happens? All right, good, good stuff, Kevin. Appreciate you, man.

(01:09:09):
Let's go back out to the phones, Mike from here
in Las Vegas. You're up next to your thoughts.

Speaker 7 (01:09:15):
Yes, I think the main thing about this, the most
positive thing about the Taylor Swift dilemma is that fathers
and daughters are going to football games and they're communicating
more about sports. That's the positive thing. As far as
Taylor still, I'm more of a jazz and R and
B person, Alicia Key, shar Dandy, the Baker, Kenney Gee,

(01:09:36):
stuff like that. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan. But
as far as far as fathers and daughters talking about
sports and communicating, I think it's a positive thing.

Speaker 2 (01:09:49):
Fair enough, that's all good. It should Monday be a holiday.

Speaker 7 (01:09:52):
Ah, yes, most definitely. All the hangovers and people missing
work most definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
All right, appreciate you checking in, Mike.

Speaker 7 (01:10:00):
Yeah, yeah, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
Back out to the phones. Kevin from Cape Canaveral that's
maybe a first. You're not on a rocket ship there,
are you? A big fellow? Pardon me, you're not on
a rocket ship?

Speaker 14 (01:10:12):
Are you from Cape canaverl But I used to work
at the State Center when we watched the shuttle, and
so anyway, I want to thank you for I call this.

Speaker 11 (01:10:22):
We are in the the.

Speaker 14 (01:10:26):
Tratosphere.

Speaker 4 (01:10:27):
Get it?

Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
Yeah, nicely done. Hey, look at you.

Speaker 14 (01:10:30):
We have launched into the stratosphere. So yes, thank you
for the motown. I love it as Goose Bump City,
as my brother and I say, you know, but if
I could quit a good thing sooner, real quick, I'm
tailing off. The guy who just spoke I would have
never been into And I'm not ever going to buy

(01:10:51):
well you never say never buy CDs or whether I'll
probably buy a CD for my daughter. But she's a swiftie.
I'm sixty five, thirty one and she's a civil engineer
in Orlando.

Speaker 7 (01:11:03):
Now this is the deal.

Speaker 14 (01:11:04):
I went with her to see the Braids play and
beat the rays at the Tropicana Field, and we drove
each way back and forth like two and a half
hours each way, and she listened to her swift and
I listened to my crossing cort role, you know, on
the other way back. And then we went to see

(01:11:27):
her UCF Knights play and we got we beat them
Georgia Tech Gilliwjackets where I went to school and graduated.
So we went to the Reign and James Stadium where
the Tabba Bay Books played. So we got to do
the same thing. And yet, like the guy said before,
me really getting relating to all of my kids by soccer.

(01:11:50):
And I'll leave you with this, and I'm learning to
deal with my son's loss. He died of a drug overdose.
I'm in recovery, Bernie. I got eight. Here's one week,
three weeks, here's one month, three weeks, two days today,
clean and sober. My son couldn't get it, and he
died of a fentanyl overdose. But I think he's with

(01:12:12):
me right now. He used to sit up late at night.
We would call Fox Sports and they were amazed when
we got in and he would be talking about the
Braves and the Falcons and all of his favorite teams.
And his favorite basketball team was the Miami Miami Heat.
But so thank you for letting me ramble like I

(01:12:34):
am a ramblin from Georgia. Deck and I'd like your show, Brothers.
I love the brilliance and the and chief humor that
you have.

Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Okay, thanks so much for calling. I'm very sorry for
your loss and I mean that squeeze one more call
in here. I believe she is a fan favorite on
the Ben Maler Show. Andrea from Berkeley Andrew your thoughts
on the Taylor Swift Effect.

Speaker 1 (01:13:00):
Yes, Hi, how are you doing well?

Speaker 21 (01:13:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 23 (01:13:03):
I just had to share. Taylor has a very interesting,
fun loving Sagittarius astrology chart and that makes a lot
of sense obviously with her ambulent personality. She's born December thirteenth,
nineteen eighty nine in Reading, Pennsylvania, and Sagittarians they're very

(01:13:25):
fun loving, freedom loving and just very playful. They need
a lot of space, and it's interesting. She has really
good compatibility with Travis Kelsey October let's see thirteenth, nineteen
eighty nine. Look at that, they're only about a week apart.

Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
WHOA, so they're the same astrological sign as well.

Speaker 23 (01:13:50):
No, well, about a month apart December thirteenth, nineteen eighty
nine for Taylor, she's a Sagittarius October fifth, nineteen eighty nine.
For Travis. He's a Libra.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Okay, so those how are those compatible in terms of nuptials?

Speaker 23 (01:14:05):
Yes, very compatible. Sagittarius is a fire sign, Libra is
an air sign, so fire and air are compatible. And
more importantly, Travis has some planets in Scorpio and Taylor
has Scorpio Moon, so that's really important, you know, to
have that compatibility, especially with Scorpio, which is a very

(01:14:27):
intense energy. Not everyone understands that. It's often misunderstood. But again,
Sagittarius is so fun loving and adventurous and just really
open minded and just very benevolent and optimistic. She's just
inspiring like a whole generation of young girls to watch football. Now,
I think that's a good thing.

Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
All right, Andrew, thanks a lot. We're up against appreciate
the thoughts. We're not done. Still a chance to get
in on the Taylor Swift phenomenon. As you can see,
this is maybe not as polarizing as I thought, but
certainly folks have real thoughts and it has all you know,
it has served to be a bit of a trigger,
and a little later in the show, I'm going to

(01:15:08):
explain why there are some specific reasons why, you know,
a lot of people actually hate Taylor Swift. Remember the
opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. They care,
they are invested emotionally. I'm Bernie Frattle. We're come to
your line from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio tarret
dot Com studios. Keep it locked right here. You're listening
to the Bernie Fraddle Show on Fox Sports Radio. All right,

(01:15:28):
back on the Bernie Fraddle Show, Fox Sports Radio. Come
to your life from the Tarak dot Com studios here
in Las Vegas. As we wrap up to Taylor Swift Effect,
I want to bring in Mark and I want to
bring in Shay. Shay, let's start with you your thoughts
on this whole Taylor Swift phenomenon.

Speaker 24 (01:15:44):
I mean, yeah, so we've kind of been talking about
it all season. I mean she's been kind of not
something that we've seen too much, but something that I've
seen so much on the media. Like I don't think
it's necessarily the NFL that's overplaying it, but I think
it's being overplayed on TikTok, Instagram, like every single person,
like I'm pretty sure have Fox have talked about it.
So it's like it's not that like the NFL is

(01:16:06):
overdoing it. I think it's just like everyone's overdoing it,
and it's it's I mean, it's just something we're going
to talk about. It's hard not to talk about when
you have these two major celebrities who never really had
anything to do with each other just start dating out
of the blue. I mean, it's it's it's something that
people enjoy talking about. I mean, we all talk about
the Queen, and we all talk about like in England,
like the royal family and their marriages. It's almost you

(01:16:26):
said it yourself, we have exactly like we don't have
a royal family. We don't have something like that. So
these are the closest things. Like it's when Kanye and
Kim Kardashian together, like that was something similar. Obviously it
wasn't something sports related, but it's it's these things happen,
and it's it's people are infatuated by it. I mean, obviously,
Taylor Swift fans they can be a little too much

(01:16:46):
and they're not very close to football fans, but I
mean there's nothing wrong with them. And it's more money
and it's more people enjoying the sport you love. So
I don't see why people should hate it. It really
doesn't make sense to me. I mean, it's fun.

Speaker 2 (01:16:58):
Why not, Well, you bring up a good point. The
NFL put her on TV a little bit because of
the relationship. How can you not. But it's really the
reaction you get on social media and on sports talk
shows like this, and just in general in the public
because again we have two big time, major celebrities and
a Swift is a very complex figure. She's very controversial,

(01:17:21):
but she's also very talented. She's got a very large
dedicated fan base. People have opinions. Mark Ramsey, you want
to hear yours.

Speaker 6 (01:17:28):
Nothing new under the sun.

Speaker 25 (01:17:29):
That was a football player a couple of years ago
who had a wife that they will put the camera
on every time he did something. So there's nothing new
as as opposed to the holiday, everybody go to work,
don't overdo it.

Speaker 6 (01:17:42):
Go to work. To take the words from Back to
the Future, don't be a slacker.

Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
I love it.

Speaker 17 (01:17:49):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:50):
Look and we all know that it's people take the
day off anyway, right or people or maybe they're not
productive at work.

Speaker 15 (01:17:59):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
And it's a situation where it's one of those things
that's talked about. Will it ever be a holiday. Probably not,
but it's talked about and probably Tomorrow night show, Saturday
Night Show. Look, there are a lot of reasons why
people love Taylor Swift. Obviously, her music. It's relatable. She
talks about things that people in heartbreak, friendship, self, empowerment.

(01:18:24):
She's a talented songwriter. She appears to be very authentic
at least two people who have been around her and
her fans, she's got a massive fan base. On the
other hand, there's no shortage of haters. Some people just
simply don't like her music. They find it too cheesy
or whatever. They don't like her personality. Some people have
accused her not me. They've accused her being annoying or

(01:18:45):
fake or too perfect, or maybe she's got everything and
they're jealous. And she's been in a number of high
profile relationships, and she's had some feuds with Kanye West
and Katy Perry. And again there are factions of people
who resent success. We'll get into this a little bit
more of all, but great job by the callers, good
job shape managing through that. Coming out top of the hour,

(01:19:05):
we got a gentleman from the Sporting Tribune, a lifer
in Vegas can you imagine the Super Bowl being here.
We'll talk about the history. Keep it lock, Brinnie Frattle Show,
Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Radio, come to you live
from me Tarak dot com studios here in Las Vegas
is welcome and a gentleman, A lifer in Las Vegas

(01:19:26):
for The Sporting Tribune, Willie Ramires. Willie. The first time
I came to Vegas, I pulled into town. I saw
the Hacienda Hotel on the west side of the road
with the red Fox Triple X sign. Other than that,
a lot of tumbleweed and desert. Can you ever imagine
a day We're the most watched television show in the
world is right here in Las Vegas.

Speaker 20 (01:19:49):
Oh man, I've been asked that all week.

Speaker 7 (01:19:52):
Bertie.

Speaker 17 (01:19:53):
I appreciate you having me on.

Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
It is really wild.

Speaker 26 (01:19:57):
I would have to go decade by decade in which
I've been here, you know, in terms of going from
an emphatic no to an absolutely I saw it coming,
and that's how long I've been here. But you know,
for for the majority of my life.

Speaker 4 (01:20:12):
No, it's it's you know, it's something that you you
you never really.

Speaker 26 (01:20:16):
Thought of happening, and uh, it's it's nice to see.
Uh the exclamation point, as I'm putting it. I've been
asked this all week. You know, does this mean that
Vegas has arrived? And I say, no, Vegas has been arrived.
We we've we've, we've been here. This is an exclamation
point and in in in in a emoji vocabulary, there's

(01:20:40):
that little double exclamation point in red that people use.
That's gonna be used in a few years when the
Final four gets here and Jerry Tarcadian looks down and smiles.

Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
Well said, well, every mirrors of the Sporting Tribune enjoining us.
So Willie I was living in Detroit as the CBS
radio when we got word for Super Bowl thirty seven
that the what stays in what happens in Vegas stays
in Vegas was turned down by the NFL two million
dollars in advertising for crying out loud oscar could have
been went off. Made it a national story. You were here.

(01:21:13):
What was the mood in town when the NFL dissed
Vegas like that?

Speaker 26 (01:21:19):
You know at the time it was it was more
so just it was that was something where it wasn't
a surprise just because you kind of knew how the
NFL already felt post sports as a whole, and you know,
you have to remember I what I don't remember is
if it was before after this, but there was also

(01:21:40):
shortly thereafter. I remember reading something online and Brian McCarthy,
the PR person, was asked about exhibit exhibition games, and
that's when they started doing exhibition games, you know, around
around the world, or just preseason games because he and
some to and those are something about Las Vegas and

(01:22:02):
he said there will never be an NFL game played
in last I.

Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
Remember that, so there there.

Speaker 26 (01:22:08):
Really it wasn't a shock, and I think the commercial
part of it was like it wasn't necessarily anger as
much as it was like, you guys are being childish,
you know what I mean. It was it was more
or less. You know, I'm sure that the LVCDA and
the people out there that do things so well in
welcoming events town, you know, there was anger there, but

(01:22:31):
as a whole, it was kind of like, you know,
just a smirk and a nod of the head, thinking,
you guys are very child it's a childish I mean,
just just you know, why not why can't we put
a commercial on the air and uh, you know, and
and maybe a little bit of a slap, a feel
of a slap in the face.

Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
Well, there's always you know, I talked about it in
my open that they treated Vegas like were some vast
wasteland that we wouldn't be able to police. The you know,
the sports betting situation. You mentioned a great point about
the Final Four. I think we could have had it here.
It's gonna it's gonna come here. I agree with you
one thousand percent. Among the other events. Here's the thing, Willie.

(01:23:08):
The Super Bowl is a two week convention followed by
a football game. We're the convention capital of the world,
all right. Place they have it in Vegas. Share the folks.
What what people have been saying, Oh, we've been raving
about Vegas.

Speaker 11 (01:23:21):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 26 (01:23:22):
And and that's that's one of the things that that
I've been saying all week is that this is what
Vegas does. This is what Vegas has always done. This
is nothing, you know, it's it's not to knock how
special the super Bowl is, you know, as far as
being you know, probably the biggest American you know, sporting event,

(01:23:47):
I think World Cup probably supersedes that on the whole.
As far as popularity and but to welcome it here.
This is what the LVCVA specializes in. This is what
last Vegacy Evanson, this is what all the pr firms,
this is what they're using. This is just simply another challenge.
You know, how are we going to handle this. Here's

(01:24:08):
what we're gonna do, Here's what needs to be done.
And then they tackle it and they go. But you know,
you think you think about all the other events that
this that that that they've done, you know, from cees
to through the different other conventions throughout the year, and
and and now when it comes to you know, the
NBA Summer League or uh, you know, when they've held

(01:24:30):
the NFL Draft, or when they held the NHL. The
NHL Draft is coming this year at the Sphere, right, So,
I mean there's just there's so many things that this
town has put on that this is just second nature
to it. It's it's the super Bowl, yes, but this
town's usually they just hosted F one, So I mean.

Speaker 21 (01:24:47):
It's it's like I said, it's just a different challenge,
and it's something that that Vegas has been used to doing.

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
Talking with Willie Ramirez the Sporting Tribune and a Lifer
in Vegas, Willie, I'm of the belief get rotated back
in a Super Bowl in twenty twenty eight after it
goes to New Orleans, Los Angeles in San Francisco in
that order. Your thoughts have you heard that at all?

Speaker 26 (01:25:12):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's back in most of the people.
You know, Dana White tonight, I was over at the
Power Slap, you know, he said he was with Roger
Goodell earlier in the day and right before the Commissioner's party,
and he told Dana said he told Rogers, well, you
know that it should be here every year, right like

(01:25:33):
there should be nothing else should be said. It should
be here every single year. I can't remember who it
was earlier this week that said the same thing that
oh Mark Davis at opening night, if someone asked him
about it returning, he said, well, I think it should
be here every year. So there's no doubt in my
mind that it'll be in the rotation. There's no doubt

(01:25:56):
in my mind with what's taking place this week and
how well that it's been handled, and how well that
the different committees, the host Committee, and like I said,
the Convention visited Authority as well as everything's going. It'll
there's no doubt that it's coming back to Las Vegas.
Not saying that I've heard anything, but there's no chance
that they would turn it down.

Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
Well, I was just going to say that next. I
actually think Willie, you could make a case maybe a
decade from now, we're talking about this, where the super
Bowl is in Las Vegas every year. Who would throw
a flag at that? Because we've got one hundred and
fifty two thousand hotel rooms, the transportation and security, the dining.
I actually, has there been any actual periphery discussions on

(01:26:40):
that or is it just kind of a group think
echo chamber thing blown in the wind. Has anybody actually
presented that to the NFL?

Speaker 26 (01:26:46):
No, outside of power brokers now that they're here all
week being in Roger Goodell's year, like the Dana Whites
and the Mark Davises, I don't.

Speaker 17 (01:26:56):
Think of the topic or of the discussion.

Speaker 26 (01:27:00):
I also don't think that it would be fair to
the other NFL cities that are regularly, you know, in
the rotations. I mean, I love the idea, but I
just don't know, you know, how that works and how
they would approve that, you know, in terms of other
cities being able to share some of the revenue that
put has put in hard work, and and and and
quite frankly that's been in the league longer than Las Vegas.

(01:27:22):
I mean, it makes sense, sure because of how well
that Vegas puts a show on. But you know, it
just it just wouldn't be fair to just end the
relationships ship that you have with these other convention visitors
authorities in Los Angeles, in New Orleans, in Miami, you know,
wherever in Dallas. So I have not heard anything in

(01:27:45):
terms of where it's a permanent conversation. It's more or less,
you know, the power brokers that be saying, hey, Roger,
this is where it needs to be.

Speaker 2 (01:27:54):
I think that's fair, Willy, given the financial boom and
windfall that it brings each of these cities, I think
that's a fair that's a fair balanced statement. Let's talk
about the Oakland A's. If everything goes according to oils,
they'll play here in twenty twenty eight. A lot of
it has to happen between now and then, including well,
you know, the line will no longer be moul Green
is out at the Tropicana. The Tropicana is out April second,

(01:28:16):
what are your thoughts, willly as a Las Vegas historian
about the a's coming and the Tropicana.

Speaker 26 (01:28:21):
Leaving, Yeah, sore subject for me obviously as someone who's
been here since nineteen seventy two, I don't like the
idea of the one of the iconic, the last iconic.
I mean, we've lost so many of them, from the
starts to the frontier, to the sands of the desert
end to the riviera. You know, the Sahara is still standing,

(01:28:44):
but you know at this point, you know Caesars is
still standing, the original MGM, which is now went to
Balle's and now Cold Horseshoes. So to see the Tropic
Cana raised in favor of a baseball stadium a look
cation that I really just don't agree with altogether.

Speaker 4 (01:29:02):
I just don't like the idea of putting a stadium right.

Speaker 26 (01:29:05):
There on the corner of Trup in Las Vegas Boulevard
as it is with traffic, foot traffic, you know it
just to me, it doesn't make sense. You continue to
sort of jigsaw puzzle in these buildings or stadiums. I mean,
you think about what's right there in a matter of
what a mile radius you're can have allegiance the baseball stadium,

(01:29:26):
team obile arena when there are other areas.

Speaker 7 (01:29:29):
That they could do this.

Speaker 26 (01:29:30):
I personally, you know, I don't necessarily agree with the
move of the ages either. I'm more of the agreement
toward expansion, especially a franchise where the owner has shown
that it's not you know, it's not in his mo
to invest in. You think about a burning lowest payroll

(01:29:52):
in the in the majors last year of around fifty
seven million dollars I believe fifty six and chain something
like that, and yet next year sho hey Otani's base
salary is seventy five million a loan. So sho hey
Otani is going to make more than the A's entire
roster based on last year's salary. So based on last

(01:30:14):
year's a salary and next year's show hate selling. So
I mean, there's a lot of sort of sour taste
in my mouth with this whole A situation. Unless Fisher
comes around and really starts investing in his team, unless
they can come up with a cohesive way for you know,
the transportation and the traffic flow and what they're going

(01:30:37):
to do there on the corner but as far losing
a historic hotel, I don't like the idea at all.

Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
Yeah, I agree with everything you just said there, Willie,
and these are subject matter will be delving into for
the next three or four years. Finally, my sources tell
me an NBA team is inevitable. Tim Lawicki, the CEO
of Oakview Group, who've built seven arenas around the world,
including where the Seattle Crack and play at the Climate
Pledge Arena. There's already, you know, a drawing board for

(01:31:05):
a ten billion dollar campus, twenty thousand seed arena, resort,
casino on the south end of the Strip. I believe
it'll be well south of the south point. Your thoughts
about the yay coming to Las Vegas the NBA.

Speaker 26 (01:31:18):
I say this with great deal of respect for the
Golden Knights organization. But when the NBA gets here, if
it's an expansion team, not a relocated team, it will
be the it will be the most beloved pro pro
sport here because you know, let's not forget what the

(01:31:39):
first love affair in sports was in Las Vegas, and
that was running Rebel basketball when Jerry Tarcanian came from
Long Beach State and began coaching the running Rebels at
the rotunda in the in the Convention Center on Paradise
You know, it looked like a spaceship sitting there on
Paradise Road, and then grew to love that, you know,

(01:32:01):
they fell in love with basketball first, the original and
the old schoolers that have been here as long as
I have. And and beyond that, there are some original
guys in this town that are still around. Ron Montoya,
Larry McKay, Jim Allen, and then there's John Ferrell, the
former Vegas High School coach.

Speaker 7 (01:32:20):
These are the guys that started.

Speaker 26 (01:32:22):
Summer basketball what's now known as AAU. You know, started
with four teams and they would just do a tournament
at Vegas or Valley High School. And then Suddy mccarl
brought Nike here, and all of a sudden, the Nike
Invitational became. And then they created the revok Holiday Prep
Classic and it was the number one in season high
school basketball tournament. Okay, And then all of a sudden,

(01:32:43):
shows like The White Shadow were implementing basketball tournaments in
Las Vegas into the storyline scriptwriters because everyone knew that
that was the big thing to do. And then Sunday
mccarlo has his falling out with Nike, vows to come
back with the DVAS and take Nike out, and he's
bringing this young kid named Kobe Bryant nineteen ninety five.

(01:33:04):
The love affair with basketball and this town will never
go away. The love affair with Jerry Tarkanian. It's never
going anywhere. So when the NBA comes, it will be
welcome with open arms, and it will take over as
being the most popular, and the Golden mich will still
be beloved and the Aces will be beloved. But it's
bound to happen, and it's gonna happen.

Speaker 7 (01:33:23):
Vegas and Seattle are going to be announcement.

Speaker 26 (01:33:25):
That's right here, Yeah, yeah, yeah, So I actually think, Bernie,
I actually think the NBA is coming before baseball. The
announcement came first, but I think that we could possibly.

Speaker 17 (01:33:34):
See an NBA game before we see a baseball game.

Speaker 4 (01:33:37):
For as long as it's going to take the stadium
to be built.

Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
Well, what has to happen, Willie. The current NBA TV
contract is up after twenty twenty five. Once Adam silver
Right negotiates the new deal, you'll see Seattle in Vegas.
I love your recollection of UNLV I was I am
proud to say I saw that Jerry Tarkanian's nineteen ninety
Rebels who Want It All? I saw them three times
court side Nervine twice in Las Vegas, once against Jimmy

(01:34:03):
Valvano's NC State team. Will the We're gonna get you
on again. People love the Las Vegas history. They love
the perspective from the inside, and they love to understand
and for what it's worth. I used to come to Vegas.
I stay at the Maxim that was a runner und
knock around guys. I love that place. Russ Bennett was
a post up manager. Walk down the street to Batista's

(01:34:26):
which is still there. So I love your recollection of
all the old hotels. So we'll get you on again.
We'll nea to talk more things. Vegas sounds good.

Speaker 8 (01:34:33):
I appreciate it.

The forty nine ers there are a perfect six to
zero when Brock Party brought part how about that for
Fredia's slip Brock Party, maybe they'll be partying Rock Purty.
He started this year against six playoff teams in the

(01:37:06):
NFC swept the field. He beat the Cowboys, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia,
the Rams, and the Packers. Then he beat the Lions.
That been a clean sweep and a complete exclamation point
on San Francisco's NFC title. Back in the Super Bowl
rock Perty, he could become the first quarterback for any

(01:37:27):
team since Joe Montana in nineteen eighty four to not
only clean sweep every playoff team, but finish it off
in the Super Bowl. Yep, he's pretty good. You see
what I did there. Now, One of the things to
note about this game, you have to score to win.
I say, defense wins championships, but you might be interested

(01:37:48):
to know that in the Super Bowl, if you don't score,
you don't win. There have been twenty two Super Bowl
teams who haven't scored fourteen points in the history of
the game, fifty seven games. They're exactly one twenty one
straight up and against the number. The one exception was
Super Bowl forty three, when that stifling Bill Belichick defense
beat the Rams thirteen to three. But by and by

(01:38:10):
the way, been there have been forty five Super Bowls
with a turnover advantage, including last year's game the team
with fewer turnovers thirty eight and seven straight up thirty
seven and eight against the spread. Now during the regular season,
this is this is important to note. I realize that
people are jiggy about the Niners defense the last month,

(01:38:31):
but this season cumulatively, the Niners were plus ten and
turnover differential, the Chiefs were minus eleven. Kansas City is
an underdog. And again for other people who are up
at arms about that, Las Vegas is not a predictor.
We're not a fortune teller. Vegas is merely in the

(01:38:51):
business of maximizing profit and minimizing risks. So when you
see a line open up that way, it's based on
power ratings. Power ratings are based on sophistic math models.
This is not somebody imagining things. If I had a
nickel for every time these knuckleheads go on panels or
people around the country try to talk about sports betting,
with all due respect, don't really know what they're talking about.

(01:39:13):
My teeth, itch, If I had a nickel for every
time somebody's how old the world? Could the Chiefs be
an underdog? Well, it's based on power ratings. And if
you don't know, I mean every time I hear that
if I had a nickel, every time I heard that,
Lelon Musk could be mowing my launch. You know, do
a little research. But underdogs have performed well in the
Super Bowl against this spread in recent years. This year
the Chiefs again two point dogs two and a half

(01:39:35):
point depending on where you shop. But over the last
twenty Super Bowls, the underdog is fourteen and six against
the number. However, when the underdog is three or less,
there are only five and four against the spread. One
profitable Super Bowl trend has been when the AFC team
is the underdog. AFC dogs are four and two straight
up five and one against the spread in the last

(01:39:55):
twenty years, including last year when the Chiefs were plus
one and a half against philadel You and they won outright.
I will give my reasons why Saturday night, but I'm
taking the forty nine ers, and I have multiple reasons why.
You know, in the history of the Super Bowl, teams
that outyard their opponent in the regular season, they're forty

(01:40:18):
two and fifteen. The Niners outyarded the Chiefs. They're not
getting a lot of respect for some reason.

Speaker 12 (01:40:24):
I get it.

Speaker 2 (01:40:25):
You don't bet against Patrick Mahomes what right, Okay, Well
these have been beaten before, and this this forty nine
Ers team is talented. They have nine Pro bowlers and
twelve alternates. So put that in your pipe and smoke
it if I'm wrong.

Speaker 14 (01:40:37):
I'm wrong.

Speaker 2 (01:40:38):
I don't even know why they're playing the game. Everybody's
already picked the Chiefs. I am actually on the forty
nine Ers coming out the other football. You see it
around the world christophets World of Soccer. But first, let's
go back to our guy, Kevin figures for the latest.

Speaker 7 (01:40:49):
All right.

Speaker 5 (01:40:49):
Bernie Friday's NBA nightcap saw the Lakers shoot fifty five
percent from the field, all five starters scoring a double
figures there as they defeated the Pelicans one thirty nine
to one twenty two, D'Angelo, Russell and Zai and Williamson
sharing in the leading scoring column with thirty points each
to lead their respective clubs.

Speaker 6 (01:41:06):
Sacramento had seven players scoring double figures.

Speaker 5 (01:41:09):
They let up the Nuggets one thirty five to one,
Zho six, Jason Tatum thirty five points and ten rebounds
for the Celtics as they held off Washington one thirty nine,
excuse me, one thirty three to one twenty nine, former
Celtics coach Doc Rivers picking up career victory one thousand
and ninety nine after the Bucks dominated Charlotte won twenty
to eighty four. The Hornets have lost ten games in

(01:41:30):
a row. In college basketball, Nevada picked up its second
straight victory over a ranked opponent after they defeated twenty
fourth ranks San Diego State seventy to sixty six. Virginia
Commonwealth won a low scoring affair against eighteenth ranked Dayton
forty nine to forty seven. On the ice, Edmonton scored
three goals in the final period to beat the Ducks
five to three. Rangers beat the Blackhawks in overtime. Minnesota
a three to two victory over Pittsburgh. Back to Bernie Fratto,

(01:41:53):
all right.

Speaker 2 (01:41:54):
Thanks, Kevin, appreciate it, buddy. So this time every week
we covered all on The Bernie Frattle Show, and we're
basically five months away from soccer or they call it football,
back on the world stage at the Olympics in Paris.
That's why each time, each week, at this time we're
bringing you Chris Proffett's World of.

Speaker 27 (01:42:09):
Soccer, The Greatest Goals, The Thrilling finishes, the international drama.

Speaker 1 (01:42:24):
Hi, it's all here in this report from the world
of soccer.

Speaker 28 (01:42:31):
Well, Bernie, it's been an interesting time here in the
world of soccer. The United States is getting a second
division one women's soccer league, USL Super League is being
granted the same status by the US Federation as the NWSL,
So we're gonna have two leagues now on par with
one another in the game of women's soccer for this country,

(01:42:54):
which is fantastic. It's beautiful, and it's a big feather
than the cap for the USL, which is kind of
the king at creating grassroots soccer across the country in
in dominating usually the other divisions for men's soccer. And
it's another sign that the USL continues to evolve, even
where professional leagues in the United States don't always follow

(01:43:18):
the same pyramid or ladder system that you might see
in Europe, that these kind of measures can be put
into place and create something that is serving both the
community and the game here in the United States. Across
in Europe, however, there is stories of rules changes that
might and those stories might have been premature. We had

(01:43:38):
news this week reports of this idea that the International
Football Association Board, the IFAB, who governs the sport and
who FIFA and the federations are all beholden to, was
going to try to introduce the idea of a hockey
like sin bin. The idea being that in order to
try to curb inappropriate player behavior, behavior and lack of

(01:44:04):
respect for officials during games, that there would be another
card to join yellow and red, and it would be
a blue card. The idea being that if you got
a blue card, you would have to go off the
pitch for ten minutes and your side would have to
play ten minutes with ten men on the field rather
than eleven, again, much much like hockey in a power play.

(01:44:24):
Now they've tried similar measures in the grassroots levels of
football in England particularly, they've been doing giving out yellow
cards to issue if a player is being disrespectful to
an official, and it's a much bigger problem at the
grassroots level. However, the IFAB, after reports got out, decided
to walk this back.

Speaker 6 (01:44:44):
On Friday.

Speaker 28 (01:44:46):
They have postponed the introduction of the blue cards and
the sinbin, probably because of the backlash that is being
seen across the sport right now at the idea that
the blue card would be introduced at the elite levels
of play in the Premier League, in the English Football League,
in any kind of other UEFA competition where it might

(01:45:07):
be applicable.

Speaker 6 (01:45:09):
And honestly I agree with it.

Speaker 28 (01:45:11):
I think that if you put in a situation where
the sport where you're reduced to ten men versus eleven,
it's not going to have the same effect in hockey.
It's not the same mathematical equation of an advantage. What
it is going to create is for ten minutes a
very defensive play from the side who is down the player.
It is, in the words of another manager who I

(01:45:32):
was listening to this week, going to slow down the
game if introduced in its current iteration. I know there
is a concern for disrespect to officials right now. I
don't think this is the way for this to go
and the way to solve such matters. But let me
know what you think, Bernie. It's a fascinating conversation and
that's one I'm sure isn't going to be going away

(01:45:53):
anytime soon. What also isn't going to be going away
anytime soon, but actually has an end in sight, may
very well be the rumors of killing Embappe. Now the
January transfer window has coming none. Killing Embappe, the amazing
French superstar, really one of I think three or four
names every sports fan, even in America should know the

(01:46:15):
names of. You know the name Rinaldo you know the
name Messi? After that is Killing Embope, who very well
be the next generation's greatest player here and who we
saw recently putting up one fantastic attempt to bring France
back in that World Cup final a few years ago.
But Mbope and his party have been at loggerheads with
Paris Saint Germain for a while, and while he remains

(01:46:37):
on the team, reports have come out reported by a
French newspaper and confirmed by sources at ESPN, is that
Killing Embope intends to leave Paris Saint Germain at the
end of the European calendar here this.

Speaker 6 (01:46:53):
Year to go on a free transfer to Real Madrid.

Speaker 28 (01:46:58):
Real Madrid, the great club of Spain, the Kings of soccer,
really a club that I believe is basically stands alone
now alongside Manchester City in their absolute sheer dominance, and
Killing Mbape going to one of the biggest clubs in
the world as one of the biggest stars would be
the biggest start Real Madrid has seen since Cristiano Ronaldo,

(01:47:21):
and if he does go to Real Madrid, which I
believe at this point he will, we are looking at
a legitimate super team being formed in the capital of Spain.
Real Madrid would have Venisius Junior, Rodrigo, Jude Bellingham and
Kama Vinga all playing together with Killing Imbappe on the

(01:47:42):
same roster. I don't know where the odds would be
out for the Champions League, but I would go ahead
with that roster and probably make Real Madrid an overwhelming
favorite when that season starts later in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (01:47:57):
It would be an.

Speaker 28 (01:47:58):
Absolutely murderous team and it's something that I think we've
all been waiting for to see in the world of soccer.
Killian Mbappe at this point is the last vestige of
a big three that has left Paris Saint Germain. He
no longer has Lionel Messi, he no longer has neymar
neymar went to Saudi Arabia, Leonel Messi came to the

(01:48:18):
United States. Killian mbape is a certified world global superstar,
and playing at Paris Saint Germain now only hides him further.

Speaker 6 (01:48:30):
If he goes to Real Madrid, a club who is
beloved the worldwide.

Speaker 28 (01:48:35):
He is going to be as big of a star
as these other guys, and it is a chance for
him to chase glory, chase honor and prestige, especially as
France will also be back in action here over the
summer for euro for the European YUEFA competition and eventually
for another World Cup strike. Killian Embape by going to

(01:48:56):
Real Madrid is positioning himself to be the next Leonie
l Messi on the global stage, inspiring another generation to
love this game. I am very excited to see him
go to Real Madrid. It's something we'll keep an eye
on and make sure that it happens down the road.
We continue on and we'll see you next time here,
Bernie on the world of soccer.

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
All right, Chris Forth, there are two recurring themes in
the world of soccer. Is at one unequivocally, Soccer as
a sport is growing commercially, no question. The names are
becoming more household names, no question, and they're becoming more recognizable.
So why'll we bring you the world of soccer? Come up?
We wrap up the show. Talk about Saturday Night Show

(01:49:41):
And by the way, if you're coming to Vegas, and
if you're coming specifically for Super Bowl fifty eight, you
might want to bring your wallet. I'll explain why. But
of course you probably already knew that. Hi'm Bernie Fratterer.
We are coming to you live from Las Vegas, Fox
Sports Radio, Tireck dot com Studios. Keep it locked right here.
You're listening to the Bernie Frattle Show. Fox Sports Radio.

(01:50:04):
All right, we are wrapping it up on the Bernie
Frattle Show. We are coming to you live from the
Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio, Tirac dot com Studios. Las Vegas,
the home of Super Bowl fifty eight. I think we're
about thirty eight hours away from kickoff Saturday night. I'll
be back on these airwaves eleven pm Pacific on Saturday night,
and we will have a Super Bowl Extravaganza show. We

(01:50:27):
are going to get into the game, matchups, breakdowns, what
to watch, talk quite a bit about some betting tools
and things to look out for, all things super Bowl.
You don't want to miss it. But before I go
any further, I want to thank my broadcast team Friday Show.
They've been with me since Friday night eleven PM Pacific,

(01:50:49):
Mark Ramsey, our technical producer, Kevin Figures on the updates,
and Shay Mogenguard, our executive producer manning the phones. A
great job by all the callers. The Midnight Our segment
is here to stay. I love the diversity of opinions.
I love some of the humor. I love the side stories.

(01:51:10):
We're gonna keep it going. There's always plenty to talk about.
As I mentored under Dick Schapp, you know, I very
rarely have a rooting interest in a game. I root
for the story because there's always a story. By the way,
I'm sure if you come to Vegas you'll have a
story to tell when you go home. If you're planning

(01:51:32):
to head to Vegas for Super Bowl fifty eight, here
at Allegiance Stadium as of now, the cheapest get in
price for tickets and forty four dollars. Yeah, you got
that in your back pocket. Sure, it's all good. And
if you want to know why, by the way, like
I said, if you come to Vegas, bring your wallet
if you want to know why. A thirty second ad

(01:51:54):
for this year's Super Bowl will cost seven million. Now
that's a thirty second ad for seven million and at
least ten million after you add in production costs. It's
because nine of the ten most watched games check that
most watched television programs and US history have been Super Bowls.

(01:52:16):
Of course, you still have not done the match finale
back in February of eighty three. That's the only outlier.
The bottom line, there's nothing cheaper chinsey about the Super Bowl,
other than you may have to watch some sportsbook ad
commercials you may grow a little tired of. But in
addition to coming to Vegas and eating and imbibing, that

(01:52:40):
means drinking and hanging out at your favorite haunt, you know,
getting some beautiful lodging area with some of the nicest
hotels in the country one hundred and fifty one hundred
and fifty two thousand hotel rooms here in Las Vegas.
You may want to throw a dollar or two on
the game, and I ask you to, you know, exercise

(01:53:02):
some caution, be smart. We know that the vast majority
of people think they're betting to win, but frankly, the
studies have been done, ninety five percent of people get
high making the bet, not winning the bet. It redeces it,
you know, releases those those endorphins, those happy feelings you get.

(01:53:24):
It enhances the viewing participation. It feeds your competitive spirit.
And you know, you can bet on who wins the game,
and you can bet on props, and we're gonna get
to that a lot Saturday night. I don't recommend you
bet on these goofy foofye props that you find offshore.
Remember in Las Vegas, the ones you can bet on,

(01:53:46):
it's got to be decided on the field and in
the box score. You know, you bet on the coin flip,
but you can't bet on the gatorade color here in
Las Vegas. So you can't bet under for instance, you
can't bet on the whether or not you know, Taylor
Swift will kiss Travis Kelcey or some stupid thing like that.
You can't. You know, you're not gonna be able to

(01:54:07):
bet on the link of the national anthem. And the
reason is is because people know the answers to these
and it can get out of the reason we've never booked,
for instance, the Academy Awards. But there are far away
places where you can book these things. Bet these things.
Some Taylor Swift bets. Now there actually are a couple
in Vegas and these are what I call These are

(01:54:29):
what I call needle in a haystack, shooting babies at
the moon bets. For instance, the books wanted to try
to cash in a little bit on the Taylor Swift craze.
And so apparently she's got a song having to do
with twenty two. And so any quarter that would have
twenty two point scored, you bet on that is plus

(01:54:51):
four hundred hundred dollars, get you four hundred if any
quarter has twenty two point scored. Okay, that's a needle
in a haystack. Bet you're better off. Let your money
on fire. Keep you warm. It's cold here in that's Vegas.
In Vegas. That's the Gary guy, Anthony Gardanald, a great
guy who's here in town. Radio Row. How about the
karma Bet Travis Kelce to have zero receptions. That's plus

(01:55:14):
three thousand, one hundred dollars, will win you three thousand bucks.
Sure you really think he's not going to catch anything.
Somebody will bet it, but I don't recommend you bet.
The Taylor Swift variations DraftKings has twenty six different options
with Taylor Swift's various songs. Again, these are my betting

(01:55:35):
advice is don't bet on funds, silly stupid bets like
this right unless you want to fill like five bucks
or something like that. It just doesn't make any sense.
But listen, we are we have arrived the notion that
there would ever be a Super Bowl in Vegas. When
in two thousand and three I was on the air
in Detroit, we got word that what happens in Vegas

(01:55:58):
stays in Vegas. AD wanted to hit the airway if
the LBCBA wanted to spend two million dollars for the
NFL to run that ad, they said, no, not up
in here. Come on, you're kidding me. They wanted to
distance themselves from the conversation. Frankly, Las Vegas was being
treated like a toxic waste up and a threat to
the integrity of the sport. Fast forward to twenty eighteen. Oh,

(01:56:21):
by the way, talk about twenty fifteen Tony Romo. He
wasn't even allowed to have his fantasy football coenventionineer. Fast
forward to twenty eighteen and the overturning of PASPA and
what that did was relegated back to the states, and
now thirty two states have legalized betting. So we now
live in a society who two thirds it's legal, and

(01:56:43):
we are expecting sixty eight million adults, twenty six percent
of the adult population to bet a combined twenty three
billion dollars on Super Bowl fifty eight. These are real numbers.
And so as the Super Bowl comes to Las Vegas
for the first time, well, I only going to have
a record interest in the game, but a record interest
in wagering because it's a full circle moment for the

(01:57:04):
US gaming industry. We already have a transient crowd of
four hundred thousand people that come to the Super Bowl
every year to watch it here and party here, but
now they're going to attend the game here. And more
than three hundred billion has already been bet with American
sports books since that twenty eighteen ruling, and as I mentioned,
thirty eight states in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico,
Puerto Rico now have regulated betting. You're going to have

(01:57:27):
commercials for sports books during the Super Bowl. The ad
spending on sports betting and twenty twenty three alone top
three hundred and seventy million dollars, and they wouldn't take
a two million dollars advertisement back in two thousand and three.
Oh my god, how far have we come. It's incredible.
The super Bowl is here in Las Vegas and we

(01:57:50):
are going to have a walled wall super Bowl Extravaganza
show Saturday night, eleven PM on The Bernie Frattle Show.
We will cover it all. Of course, Steve Zick join
us for the Phaesek five. That's going to do it.
For the Friday edition of The Bernie Friddle Show, I
will be back on these airwaves eleven pm on Saturday night.
Take you up to three am Pacific, six am Eastern,

(01:58:12):
and we will cover it all. But in the meantime,
I want you to keep it locked up. Next the
biggest thing out of Philadelphia since Ben Franklin, Kobe Bryant
and the Harold Melboin and the Blue Dose, Santhia Gargado,
keep it locked
