Speaker 1 (00:00):
What a title? Are you ready? Darkness? The Prince of Darkness,
The prints of Darkness is in the house. I'm the
man up in this piece, Jonas Knocks, I don't choosing
the morn Well, Big God, Jonas Knocks is coming through
your speakers like the right cross from a boxer that
you've never heard of. They run through our asks like
(00:22):
through a tin horn man, and we could not stop dead. Now,
lie from the guy, go, Fox Sports Radio Studios. What
are you talking about? What is this your first day
on the job. Here's Jonas Knocks getting the fast lay Grandma,
the bingo game and running them all. So there is
(00:51):
something that we all love about football. I love it,
You love it. The people we know love it. Everybody
who is a sports and loves this about football. And
if I were you, I'd soak it all in because
it ain't ever gonna look like this again. I'll tell
you what that is coming up here in just a
couple of minutes. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. You can

I want to talk to you about over over corrections.
All right, everybody is guilty of this. You've done it
on the highway before to where you you make a mistake, uh,
and then you overcorrect and then bad things can really happen.
(01:56):
Like so we do this driving. You see it sometimes
driving and then um, you'll see it in like your
personal life. Guys know this. You ever said something really
stupid to your wife or your girl, like, said something
really dumb and then you know that you said something dumb,
so you've got to spend like the next week making
up for it. And everything is an overcorrection. You're buying flowers,
(02:19):
you're saying nice things. You're really trying to to work
her back into to forgiving you, and it it feels forced.
You can feel yourself being disingenuous while you're doing it,
because it's an overcorrection. You've got to do that or
else you've got no shot of getting her back. So
the reason I bring that up is because I can
(02:40):
sense an overcorrection coming in the world of sports, and
that overcorrection is going to come in college football. You see,
college football a few years back decided, you know what
we're gonna do. Enough with this BCS crap, Enough with
letting a bunch of math nerds figure out who the
best team is. Let's let's take all the control away
(03:02):
from the geeks. Put down your t I E. Three's,
let's really get down to what football is all about.
And you know what they said. They said, We're playing
it out on the field. That's how we're gonna do it.
We're starting a college football playoff. And we rallied around
and said, you know what, that's a badass idea. We
love the college football playoff. Yeah, I'm into it. Enough
(03:23):
with the nerds, get out of your nerds. We're not
letting you determine who the best team in the country
is anymore. No, give us a college football playoff. And
so college football went out in college football set up
this playoff system to where the top four teams as
voted on by a committee. We'll play in a semi
final and then a national championship game. And we love this.
(03:47):
It's great played out on the field, football the way
it should be. It's like a mini n c A,
a tournament which we all love and then um, as
a time has gone on, we've kind of gotten used
to it. And because we've kind of gotten used to it,
we've kind of also gotten used to the fact that
who cares about the other bowl games? Because nobody, nobody
gives a rip about the Walgreens ZiT removera bowl on December.
(04:12):
Nobody cares. You want to know why, because they've told
us it doesn't matter. I said it on the show
a couple of weeks ago. I'm like, listen, this is
one of the drawbacks when you when you make a
clear example, when you make a clear distinction that one
is more important than the other. That's great for the
one that's more important than the other, but it's not
so great for the others, you know what I mean. Like,
(04:35):
if you're not the favorite child, and that's obvious, that's
not really a fun childhood. Right college football in the
committee is determined their favorite child is Semifinal one, Semifinal two,
and then the national championship game. The rest of you
bye bye. We don't give a crap. Guess who's figured
that out? Us? We figured it out. The players have
(04:59):
figured it out. That's why they're skipping games. You figured
it out. That's why you don't watch your show up.
I've figured it out, which is why I came up
with a game called bull game or bull crap because
can you guess if this is even a real bull
game anymore? Because they've told us that's important and that's
not Here's where the overcorrection is going to come in.
(05:20):
College football is starting to notice this. Doesn't it feel
different this year? Think about it? Think about what we've
got coming up on Saturday. We've got Notre Dame, Clemson, Alabama,
and Oklahoma. We've got one of the best teams in
the sport in one of the best eras this sport
(05:43):
has ever seen in Alabama. Huge. We've got Clemson, a
team that's now recognizable, a team with a charismatic head coach,
a team that's exciting to watch, a team who we
are pretty familiar with because they've been here over the
past couple of years. We've got Oklahoma, one of the
(06:07):
most exciting offenses in the NFL, a potential to sport
athlete at quarterback and in an offensive driven sport now
which is the NFL. They are the poster child for
what we supposedly love about football nowadays. And then you've
got Notre Dame, traditional powerhouse, one of the great largest
(06:27):
fan bases in the country, a team that can draw
no matter where they go at any time, They're gonna
get you numbers because their Notre Dame and it runs
for generations of fandom all throughout the country. That is
what our final four is. I would be willing to
bet you right now that there are some of you
who at some point on Thursday and Friday stopped and said,
(06:51):
oh wait, the college football playoffs this weekend. Oh I
didn't do. Wow, that's awesome. Think about that. One of
the all time great programs in Alabama, a route a
powerhouse in its prime, Clemson, who's been in this spot before,
in all time great offense in Oklahoma with a two
sport athlete and a Heisman Trophy winner, and Notre Dame.
(07:14):
And there's a decent portion of the public out there
who just realized on Thursday and Friday. Oh yeah, they're
playing this weekend. That's awesome. Like that's a problem. There's
no real buzz going into this weekend. That's a problem.
You've got that many prime time players, you've got that
(07:34):
many superstar players, and that many superstar programs and head coaches,
and there's just no buzz leading into it. And college
football knows it. There's already been chirping and talk about
we're gonna extend to an a team playoff. All right,
the money's there, It makes all the sense in the
world from a financial standpoint. But if there was ever
(07:57):
a question as to whether or not that was really
going to get done, I think this year proved it.
This year is going to change how the college football
playoff move looks moving forward. I don't know if it's
gonna happen next year. I don't know when it's gonna
when it's gonna happen, or what the contracts are or
how they're gonna make this work. But I'm telling you
they're gonna look at the lack of buzz heading into
(08:18):
Saturday's college football semifinal playoffs and they're gonna say, you
know what, we gotta do something. Because people are checked out.
Nobody cares about these other games, So how can we
make them care? Well, it's easy. You start the college
football playoffs sooner. Yeah, but if we do that, those
two those sets of games will will be moved up sooner,
(08:40):
and then the National Championship, you know, and then you
got all these games after them, so they don't really
feel like the most important games because there's games being
played after them. So how do you do it? You
extend the playoffs, You add more teams, You make the
quote unquote real games start earlier so that people care earlier.
If you're college football, you are not thrilled with the
(09:03):
lack of buzz and excitement heading into these games. You've
got everything you need, all the key ingredients for the
recipe of a fantastic Saturday in college football, and it's
snuck up on you. That shouldn't happen. The NFC title Game,
in the a f C Title game, they don't just
sneak up on you. The Super Bowl doesn't just sneak
(09:25):
up on you. So then why did the college football
playoff games just sneak up on you? Because you're checked out?
We're here in stories about Kyler Murray playing two sports.
We're hearing stories about an Alabama player who was scared
to talk about Kyler Murray because Nick Saban was gonna
(09:46):
yell at him, so he froze in the middle, like
like he had forgotten the English language. I'm telling you,
this is gonna be the year that they look back
and go, yeah, we probably should have rethought this whole thing.
Not saying that the call football playoffs is a bad thing,
but I don't think that they realize. I think they
undersold to themselves the idea that you were going to
(10:07):
make everything else outside of the college football playoff that
much more meaningless. And that's what it feels like. These
games are meaningless. People are checked out, nobody really cares,
nobody's really tuned in. Look at the stadiums are empty.
I think college football is going to overcorrect, just like
(10:29):
you in traffic when you make a dumb move and
you overcorrect to get back into the next lane. Just
like if you make a mistake in your personal life
and you've gotta make good, you gotta do something nice
for your better half, so you end up buying way
too many flowers and kissing way too much ass just
because you need to overcorrect for the mistake you made.
College football made a mistake. They undersold to themselves the
(10:50):
idea that the rest of these games outside of the
College Football Playoff would have some importance. They do not.
You don't care. I largely don't hair, and the players
don't care. That's why they're not showing up. And I
think because of that, they're gonna overcorrect. They're gonna extend
the college Football Playoff thinking that that's going to solve
(11:10):
the issue, and it's only gonna make it worse. Jonas
Knocks Fox Sports Radio eight seven seven nine on Fox
is the phone number eight seven seven six three six nine.
You can also get me on Twitter at the Jonas
Knox as We come to you live here from the
Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. Coming up next, I'm going
(11:32):
to call my shot right now. There is going to
be a massive overreaction to something that every single one
of you has done, and it's relating to one of
the all time great athletes and sports. I'll tell you
what that is next year on Fox Sports Radio. Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio, coming to you live here from the
(11:53):
Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. I'm gonna call my shot
on an overreaction to something it's happening. That will be
an overreaction to something that went down in the world
of sports on Friday night, and I will make my
case for that and I will call my shot here
coming up momentarily, I do want to welcome in the crew.
(12:14):
They will be writing Shotgun with me until six am
Eastern time here on Fox Sports Radio. Ladies and gentlemen.
He is all Iowa out right now. He is full
blown from head to toe Iowa state cyclone. Sam. Who
is your technical producer here at Fox Sports Radio. Yeah,
(12:34):
tough loss there for the Clones. Baby, Yeah you feel
bad for him? Um? Yeah I do. I do. I
mean it was you know, they they got some bad
calls in their way, but hey, we press on. It's
really gonna be a bummer, man. I hope that doesn't.
They don't hold that against those guys that they lost
that what bowl game was? That was at the Mobile
one of the first decent bowl games they wanted, the
(12:55):
AMPM Bowl. What is your solution exactly, though, Like, do
you think that they should get rid of some bowls?
You think they should add more balls? Um? Because I mean,
if you don't have a playoff game where you're determining
an eventual national champion. If you look at FCS, they
do it really well. In my opinion that I have
no issue with Letten. You want to keep the college
football playoff, I have no issue with it. I love
the college football playoff. But I think that they failed
(13:18):
to recognize that what they were doing simultaneous at the
same time when they were propping up four teams, they
were also telling you that the rest of the of
these college football teams aren't in their class. So if
if they're not important, why should we care about it?
And I just think that's I think that's the issue.
And I don't think that they they thought it out
(13:38):
all the way in that regard if they wanted to
do something like this to where because I think an
eight team playoff is ridiculous, but I do think they're
going to go on that in that direction. If they
wanted to do a six team playoff, I compromise that
what's the difference between six and eight then, because two
teams will be getting a buy and you're not making
them play an extra game. So when you had the BCS,
(13:58):
there was two teams that matt Or than everyone else.
That didn't matter. But but but the BCS though, there
was a feeling with the BCS that because you had
that one game, that other games surrounding that, those two,
those teams still had an argument. Okay, we were left out.
Look what we did there? We were left out. They
can showcase and they can they can tell you all
(14:19):
we got. We're the third team out. Look at hout dominant.
We where we should have been there. You give them
at least an argument. You seef still got an argument
because they're never going to get the opportunity to play
it out on the field, so at least it keeps
our argument going college football? Are you are are you doubting?
Are you saying that there's as much of a buzz
heading into the playoff weekend as there has been in
years past? It feels on a promotion. I mean really,
(14:45):
like you see, you're still only letting in four teams
like in the past, like Auburn was really remember that
Tommy Tuberville team. They had two great running backs. They
that was injustice. So now we have interest versus injustice.
What do you want? Do you want to have it
really played out? A Fiel or do you care about
some fans would rather look at their phone and you know,
not watch the Rose bowlers. Something's let's screw them. Tell them, yeah,
(15:07):
does it feel like there's buzz going into this weekend?
Because it doesn't feel like that to me. I think
that they need to push, actually need to push the
playoff game to either like the first, well, there's too
much going on in the first. Maybe the second. I
don't know. And I'd be all four it if they
wanted to put the college football playoff schedules. Yeah, if
if they wanted to put the college football playoff on
the first, I would be in for that every single year.
(15:28):
That's where it should be done. Because if you're a traditionalist,
you know this UM four thirty IOWA time Rose Bowl
every New Year's Day, like that's that's tradition and it
still ties in with that. The problem is they're moving
it around. Remember the first year they did it, they
had a college football semi playoff game number one, and
it was on it like to thirty in the afternoon
(15:49):
on a Friday out here in l A. If you're
looking around, like, man, I'm still at work. Okay, they've
been tinkering it with it for sure, And they did
on New Year's Eve, like the second year. It was
the first year. I don't one of those There was
a playoff game on New Year's Eve, wasn't there? Yeah?
I think yeah, And and they were and they were
people weren't watching. I just I feel like in looking ahead,
the college football is going to look at this year
(16:10):
and go, we gotta really seriously consider what we're doing here.
And I think the overreaction and the overcorrection to it
is going to be them immediately going to eight teams,
whether that be next year or the year after, whatever
the TV rights called for. And I don't necessarily think
that that's the right answer, but I do think that
they're going to want to please everybody and say, oh,
now more teams will get in. I think six is
(16:31):
the magic number. Yeah, I'd be okay with I like
those top two teams, Yes, because it gives them something
to play for and it still adds value to the
end of the season. All right, So he is Iowa Sam.
He will be here until six am Eastern time. Ryan
Burr Singer is your executive producer here on Fox Sports Radio. Nice. Nice, hell, Yeah,
(16:51):
he is. He is excited. He is going to prop
up the l A Angels Abannaheim, who have signed Jonathan
Loucroix out to a contract. Ryan bursing Er, a die
hard Angel fan, Yes, oh yeah, absolutely, Luke Luke and
and and Big Justin Bore and Matt Harvey coming. Then
(17:11):
that's really really great. Time sounds good, that sounds like
a plan. And ladies and gentlemen. He is the voice
of l A Sports Radio. You hear him on a
M five seventy l A Sports. He is the great,
he is the powerful. He is Kevin Figures, so Jona's.
You know, they give away these swag bags and bowl games.
What do you think will be in the swag bag
at the a mp M Bowl. Oh? You know, I
(17:32):
was actually thinking about this, um because I thought, like
the Dollar General Bowl, what's in the swag bag? And
I was thinking, um, you know, like a thing of
a Jax and like brute cologne. Um, I think would
be one of them. At the a MPM Bowl. You'd
have to get an icy alright, so it would have
to be like an icy. You'd have to get one
of those, uh, one of those hot dogs, those chili
(17:54):
dogs that are wrapped up in that foil's been sitting
there for about five years, but but it always feels
like it's gonna be better than it actually is, just
because it's got the foil around it. So it feels
like one of those you get one of those cheeseburgers
that they have set in there. And the amazing thing
about an a MPM cheeseburger is that, no matter how
much cheese is between the bun and the actual meat,
(18:15):
the inside of the bun is always dry. That's really weird,
Like like what happens does like does like a bird
go in there and suck all the moisture out of
it and then ditch out when the guy's got his
back turn pulling a lot of scratchers or somebody, And
if you're really unlucky, the middle of the burger is
still frozen. Yeah, I just I don't I don't know.
I don't know how that happened. And by the way,
I have had that happened before, I'm not I'm not
(18:37):
entirely sure that those aren't sausage patties. I swear to God,
I'm not sure if that's actually meat. Yeah, and so
so I would. Yeah, the swag bag maybe we can
look that up at some point throughout the show. Let's
take a peek inside the swag bags for each of
these Bowl games, because I think that's really really what
these guys are in for. Hopefully there'll be a bag
of toms in that bag too, Yeah, that's true. And
then you'd have one of those like um, they gave
(18:58):
you one of those fake glasses, Like you wouldn't get
Oakley as you get Oky's, you wouldn't get um Ray band.
They'd be a roy band, and so it would be
an O instead of an A, and their ten bucks
instead of a hundred and fifty one. Lands will pop out.
It's the best. Who's that terrible mascot they have for AMPM?
(19:19):
Tong tongus? There's gotta be a T shirt with tongus?
What the hell? There's a mascot for am Here's here's
a mascot called tongue. He's made of just a bunch
of food and wet doughnuts and crazy all things that
are horrible for Really, there's a mascot for AMPM. You
didn't know that in your Southern California native and I
can't state amp I don't even get gas from MPM okay,
(19:44):
So what's the worst mask on tonguus or that condor
the Clippers have? Oh, chuck the condor the converse, but
the converse shoes. I don't know the Chuck Taylor is
doing for me with Chuck the condor. Chuck the condor
looks like an everlasting gob stopper with leprosy is whatever, Mas,
it's just disgusting. I don't know whose idea that was.
So Chuck the condoor is better than tonguus. Well, if
(20:06):
you've ever heard tongues speak in the commercials, it just
makes you feel stupid, like just dumb. I've never I've
never seen. Wow, that's amazing tonguas. I had no idea.
It's very erotic. Good for him, Alright, So that is
a crew. We're gonna be here until six am Eastern
time here on Fox Sports Radio. Jonas knocks here on
fs are all right, So how much of an overreaction
(20:27):
are we gonna get to Lebron James drinking wine as
he walked into Staples Center before the Lakers and the
Clippers played. All right, because now here's where this goes.
If he doesn't get criticism, it's the media ball washing
him because if it was somebody else, then Lebron James
would have gotten heat for it. If it was somebody else,
they would have gotten heat. But because it's Lebron James
(20:49):
and he's drinking what appeared to be a glass of
wine walking into the game, people are going to say, oh,
he doesn't get the same criticism everybody else does, Okay,
And then if he does get criticized, oh yeah, you
guys just want to get on Lebron about anything, man,
I just want to get on him about anything. First
of all, I've got a bigger issue with the fact
that his pants were six inches too short. All right.
(21:12):
I get the whole thing where you want to, you know,
leave him a little bit short, shows some mankel it's
the summertime. Uh, you want to wear no socks? You
got some Louis Vutan shoes. I get all that stuff.
But he's wearing like not even like the real vans.
They're like the vans you get it at pay less,
so they're like Jan's instead. And and Lebron James has
(21:33):
got a pair of pants on they look like dickies.
And he's got a pair of pants on that here
six inches too short, all right, but he's drinking a
glass of wine. So people are gonna say, you know,
the optics of this look bad. Um. Have you ever
been to Vegas? You ever walked around Vegas? Right? Not
only do people walk around with drinks in Vegas, you
(21:54):
go to Paris and you get a souvenir cup that's
the Eiffel Tower and it's so big that it comes
with a guitar strap. You're walking around the strip like
people walk around booze all the time. This is nothing normal.
How many adults out there that have kids? All right,
I'm not here to judge, all right, you don't even
have to raise your hand in the car. You don't
(22:15):
have to wherever you're listening to this right now? How
many adults out there in walking around on Halloween when
you're trick or treating with your kids? How many of
you had an alcoholic beverage in your hand while your
kids are trick or treating? All right? Just raise your eyebrow,
all right, raise your right. You don't even have to
raise your hand. I don't want you to call it out.
But you're smirking right now because you know you're that
same person. So people that are criticizing Lebron James because
(22:37):
he had a glass of wine. Big deal. Who cares, man,
he's not playing. If anything, I commend Lebron James for
having the balls to make the move like that. Good
for him. I can never do that. I'm paranoid about it.
I'm paranoid about having anything in my body that isn't
coffee and or water before I do a show. I
(22:58):
could never imagine being so well thought of and so
comfortable in my profession that I would walk into work
here at Fox Sports Radio with booze in my hand,
which is why Iowa Sam does it for me. So so,
I mean this this outrage on social media people that
are gonna overreact to it. Last week it was Lebron
talking about slave mentality in the NFL, then afterwards he
(23:21):
sent uh some lyrics that were anti semitic, and now
he's drinking wine. If anything, I'm more leaning towards Lebron
James actually wasn't drinking wine. It was cranberry juice. And
he's toying with the media and he's trolling angry people
out there who want to criticize him over everything. Who cares,
it's a glass of wine. Big deal, he's of age,
(23:44):
it doesn't matter. He's not playing anyways. It's not Johnny
Manzel who walks into an NFL game and he's got
a flask in his bass back pocket. He's got no
substance abuse issues. This isn't a Josh Gordon case. Move
on stopp being over dramatic. It's us to Glass of
Wine eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox Jonas Knox
(24:04):

and you can also get me on Twitter at the
Jonas Knox as we come to you live here from

year on fs ARE. I don't want to call this
the dumbest thing that a coach has done recently, but
I'm gonna put it into the conversation. Alright, a coach
(24:25):
has done something that I think is kind of stupid. Alright,
So find out what we're talking about next year on
Fox Sports Radio. But for all the latest, it's Captain Figures.
Jonas Lebron's team is could use a drink or two
after what happened on Friday nights. I'm just saying they
got worked over pretty bad on their home floor. No
less by the Clippers one eighteen. It's one of seven
Lou Williams, former Laker no doubt thirties six points, eleven
(24:46):
of eighteen shooting. Durno Ginori also nineteen points and tin
boards for the Clippers. Lakers have lost five of the
last seven, are now oh and two without Lebron James
in the lineup. Clippers, by the way, I've won four
of their last five games. Thunder with a victory over
the Phoenix Suns despite not having Paul George in the lineup.
He missed his first game of the year with a
quad injury. Russell Westbrook did at forty points, twelve boards
(25:07):
and eight assists and that victory. Jamal Murray at thirty
one points for the Nuggets and a victory over San
Antonio Pelicans get forty eight points and seventeen boards from
Anthony Davis and a one fourteen to one twolve victory
over Dallas. Mate's rookie Luca Doneck did have thirty or
four points in the victory. Hawks with an OT victory
over the Timberwolves, Heat and Magic with victories Pacers with
a win over the Detroit Pistons. Online car shopping can
(25:30):
be confusing not any more of True Prize from True Car.
Now you can know the exact price you will pay
for your next cars. To visit True Cards to enjoy
a more confident car buying experience. College football Friday Night,
thirteenth wing Washington State with a twenty eight to twenty
six victory over Iowa State. Is Gardener Minshew passed for
two and ninety nine yards, two scores through the air,
one on the ground as well. Camping World Bowl goes
(25:52):
to Syracuse. They notch a thirty four to eighteen victory
over West Virginia. College basketball victories for Gonzaga, Marquette and
Virginia Tech. Back to Jonas Knocks. Thanks keV Company. Alive
here from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, where it's
easy to say more on car insurance with Geico, go
to Geico dot Comic seven Auto. The only hard part
figuring out which way is easier. Coming up in about
(26:15):
twelve minutes from now here. On Fox Sports Radio, we
will have Do You Care? One of my favorite segments
on the show, because it's an excuse to be ultra
negative about things that a lot of people care about
that I don't. All right, So we'll have fun with
that about twelve minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio. Um,
all right, So I hate putting absolutes on stuff because
(26:40):
I don't want to say that this is the dumbest
thing a coach has done. But I don't know that
he necessarily thought this thing through. Right, So you CF
defensive coordinator Randy Shannon, who uh play, who coached Miami
for a few years, and uh, and you figured you
CF was going to get their name somehow into the
college Football Playoff weekend. Um, you know, because they're not
(27:02):
good enough to play in it. So so they gotta
somehow figure out how to get in the news. So
you CEF, because they're not good enough if you play
in the college football Playoff, and because they're not good
enough to be in the college football Playoff, you CEF decided,
how can we stir the pot a little bit? How
can we get some news some headlines here? And so
Randy Shannon was talking about players deciding to skip bowl games,
(27:29):
and Randy Shannon was quoted as saying, my opinion, it
will probably will fester more and more in college and
then now the NFL is going to have to make
a decision if you draft a young man that leaves
early and now you're not a playoff team, that young
man is going to say, I'm not going to play
same situation right, wrong, or in different. So he's kind
of implying that if you skip a bowl game, that
(27:52):
you're more likely to want to sit out in the
NFL at the end of the regular season if your
team's out of it. Right, there's a lot to this, all, right,
First and foremost, If I'm a recruit and u CF
is recruiting me and I find out that their defensive
coordinator says, hey, if you look out for your future
and you skip one of our bowl games, we think
(28:14):
you've got that quit in you, and we think you're
probably gonna do the same thing in the NFL. Right,
I'm gonna tell that guy to go screw off. I'm
not going to play for him because he's not going
to dictate to me what my future is going to be.
When we've got example after example of guys who have
played in these meaningless exhibition games have suffered an injury
and it's cost them millions upon millions of dollars a
(28:35):
right to do that. That's the one aspect to it.
So from a recruiting standpoint, you trust me. If you
spent any time around college football, or you've talked to coaches,
or you've covered college football, all coaches are looking for
that are recruiting against you, is something they can use
against you. If urban Meyer was still the head coach
(28:56):
at Ohio State, you don't think for on second that
Jim Harbaugh or Mark D'Antoni, uh D'Antonio or some of
these other coaches in the Big Ten Kirk Ferens aren't
going to use what happened at Ohio State in the
off season against urban Meyer when recruiting against him. That's
of course they would. It's dirty pool. That's how this
(29:18):
game is played. When Steve Spurry or was coming up
towards the end of his career, what do you think
coaches in the SEC we're doing, or Clemson coaches in
state we're doing when recruiting against Steve Spurrier. Yeah, I
don't know. If you want to go to South Carolina,
we're hearing that guy's on his way out the door.
I mean, look how old he is. It's why Steve
Spurrier got so piste off and called a press conference
to say I am not retiring. I'm not going anywhere
(29:41):
South Carolina head coach. Those are just that's dirty pool.
Those are guys that are recruiting against me. Seven weeks later,
he resigned like this is this is the way the
game is played. So from a recruiting standpoint, it's a
it's a mistake, Randy Shannon saying that making these comments,
it's a mistake. Also, just because you do one thing
(30:02):
doesn't mean that you're more susceptible to do another. That
doesn't always apply. You ever burned an aunt with a
magnifying glass when you were young? You ever do that?
Like that old trick somebody would tell you about your
burning aunt with a magnifying glass? You ever killed a mosquito?
You ever bought a fly swatter? Killed killed a fly
that was bugging you was inside the house and you
(30:24):
ran out of those fly strips? All right? You ever
done one of those? Yeah? All right? Does that mean
that you grew up to be Ted Bundy or did
that mean that you grew up to be Jeffrey Dahmer. No,
just because you murdered an insect when you were younger
doesn't mean you're gonna murder human beings. At the same time,
just because you do one thing when you're younger doesn't
mean it applies to what your future is going to
(30:44):
be like as well too. There's a big distinction between
a guy making a business decision and a guy quitting.
If a player decides he doesn't want to play in
a meaningless bowl game that's not going to benefit him
at all or his draft stock, and he wants to
sit out, he's going to make the call based on
what's best for him and his family. We have no
(31:05):
idea what those guys go through. No, No, I want
a guy who's gonna play regardless. Man, it's all about
the team. Well that's neat and all, But if you
tear your knee up, how many of your teammates are
gonna get together a go fund Me page to pay
your bills and make up that twenty potentially thirty million
dollars you lose out on because you were unhealthy when
you went to the NFL combine. I mean, how many
(31:25):
more examples do you need of guys getting hurt and
costing themselves millions. When Christian McCaffrey made the decision, there
wasn't pushback. You want to know why, because they understood
that guy's looking out for a future. That guy's looking
out for a future because he understands if I get hurt,
I've already ran the ball. I've already been overworked at
my position at Stanford. I've got to go make a
(31:47):
career out of this and I'm not going to risk
it for one game. That doesn't mean anything. Players are
smarter now. They're figuring it out. They're getting the idea that, hey,
we our value is at the next level, not in
the Mina Key Car Care Bowl. So if that's the case,
we should be looking out for our future at the
(32:08):
next level. So for Randy Shannon to imply that if
a guy sits out a bowl game looking out for
his future, that that means he's gonna sit out when
he's a professional, are you out of your mind? It's
it that do You can't even you can't even make
the same comparison. It doesn't work that way. It's a
business decision. They're looking out for their future. You would
(32:29):
do the same exact thing if somebody told you, hey,
don't show up to work on Friday, because even though
you really want to work and you love your company.
But if you don't show up to work on Friday.
You're guaranteed to make X amount of dollars at the
next space of your career. But if you show up
to work, it's not really going to benefit you, and
(32:52):
chances are you could do something, get fired. It could
cause you the rest of your career. What are you
gonna do. You're gonna sit out Friday. You It might
be a tough decision. Maybe you really love your job,
but you're gonna look out for the well being of
your family and your future moving on. And that's what
these guys are doing. So it's a dumb statement by
Randy Shannon. I guarantee you it's gonna be used against
him in recruiting this offseason. Mark my words. Somebody within
(33:15):
that coaching staff is gonna have a conversation with them.
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming to you live from
the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios up next, and by
the way, you can give me on Twitter at the
Jonas Knox and at eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox is the phone number if you want to call.
All right, coming up next, it's one of my favorite
segments on the show. I will tell you how important
(33:35):
some of the things you've been force fed by the
media all week long. Actually is it's Do You Care?
Next year on FSR. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio, coming
to you live here from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
We will have another edition of Do You Care coming
up here momentarily here on Fox Sports Radio. That'll be
hosted by Ryan Burr Singer, who's our executive producer, our
(33:56):
normal executive producer. Vince Close. Uh, he's been suspeed ended.
Um just we're not real thrilled with the behavioral patterns events.
Um Uh, there was Uh, I mean, listen, I'm not
I'm not here to call anybody else for just just
his treatment of others on the show. And we felt
(34:17):
it was best that he sit out this weekend because
I'm just not gonna put up with it. All Right,
I'm not gonna let him trash Iowa Sam, I'm not
gonna let him trash Kevin figures, I'm just not gonna
do it. And so because of that, and to go
along with the alcoholism, I think it would be best
that Vince sit out this weekend. It just kind of
figure out for the new year whether or not he
wants to be a part of this right, which is
(34:39):
code for he's filling in on other shows and he's
not working on this one. But it's a better story,
you tell somebody there in alcoholic it's a better story
all the way around. Quickly, before we get to du care,
let's go to Jacksonville, where Brian is listening here on
Fox Sports Radio. Brian, what's going on? Man? I think
it might not be a bad idea for you to
consider what Lebron diet and try and go ask the
(35:00):
one might help your attempt at humor. Yeah, from what
I've heard in the last twenty minutes, but I want
to talk about college. Brian. Can I ask you a question? Okay,
what's worse, all right? My jokes the last twenty minutes
or the fact that you've been sitting on hold for
the last twenty minutes and I'm wondering the thing. I'm
(35:20):
wondering the same thing. Here's what I here's what I think, Bryan.
I think you're into me. That's what I think. All Right,
I'm gonna cut me off because you don't want to listen, Brian. Brian,
I I want, I want to listen to you, but
I think we should be honest about our feelings here,
and I feel like you have a little something here,
all right. I think there's something going on here, So
let's talk bad what's up. This is the first time
(35:42):
I've listened to you that we all have choices. The
college football folks have a choice, and I think an
eight team playoff would be the best thing at this time.
I hope it happens within two years. So all of
that just for that, like you all, all of that
build up, Brian, for that, Like, come on, man, let's
(36:06):
like at least color it up a little bit. Jesus,
all of the build up just for the just a
stale take. I think they got it right. That's ridiculous.
You have a glass of wine. All right? It is
time one of my favorite segments here on the show
on Fox Sports Radio, for a little something. We call this.
There's so many stories in the world of sports, and
(36:29):
most of them are a complete waste of time. DMZ reports,
Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big stories from
the last week. But Jonas, the real question is do
you care? And for that we turn it over to
Ryan Burr Singer, who is here in for Vince Close,
who may or may not have been suspended for this
weekend burst. What do we got alright, alright, let's take
(36:51):
a look at Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams both came
out in support of interim head coach Joe Philbin earlier
in the week, and the Packers also interviewed Jim Caldwell
and Pagano. Jonas, Do you care about the Packers head
coaching search. No, I don't because it feels so forced.
Of course they're gonna come out and speak highly of
their coach, because they didn't really do it the last
(37:11):
time when it was Mike McCarthy. I'm not buying the
Jim Caldwell interview. I'm not buying Chuck Pagano. To me,
the real candidates they're waiting to talk to. This was
just to show everybody that they're already hard at work
to try and find a coach. Doesn't make any sense
to me. I don't care about this story. Next. Earlier today,
Steve Wilkes cracked a joke about his job status in
(37:33):
his press conference. He said, man, you know you're getting
to the end when they don't give you a damn podium.
When he came into his press conference today, do you
care about Steve Wilkes being rather lackadaisical about the fact
that he's probably going to be fired. I actually, you
know what, I'll give Steve Wilkes a little bit of
credit because I think he understands the writing is on
the wall. They've probably had a conversation. That's normally a
pretty well run organization up top. Um. I think, and
(37:58):
everything I've heard is that Mike McCarthy is a guy
they're really interested in. They've got a young quarterback. They
feel like he would be the answer. It's not work
there under Steve Wilkes. Um. I think he'll get another job.
He's well thought of around the league as an assistant
on a coaching staff. I just wonder if it was
this season bad enough that he never gets another shot
as a head coach. I don't think it was, because
I think he's got a good reputation. But at least
(38:19):
he's got a comedic bone in his body on the
way out. Next. Joel Embiid and Rudy Gobert faced off
earlier in the week, and Joel uh he was talking
about Rudy and he said, oh, I love playing against
guys like him. Defensive Player of the Year, I guess
with throwing air quotes around defensive player of the year,
He added, I should have gotten that title. Do you
care about Joel embiad throwing some shade a Rudy Gobert
(38:44):
on man one? Look, this would be one thing if
it was Al Horford or somebody he plays a lot. Uh,
you know, somebody in the Eastern Conference. But look, you're
gonna play what twice a year? Maybe if he gets
to the finals, I got news for you. If the
Sixers and the Jazz are in the finals, you know
who's not watching, probably me? Alright, I got news for you.
So so like him calling out Rudy Gobert. Joel embead
(39:06):
I think he's good for the league. I like that
he talks a lot. But if it was somebody in
conference to where we could have a battle every single
month or so U they met up several times, I
think it would matter more to the league as somebody
in the Western Conference to the place where the Jazz.
I don't think anybody really cares and I don't either.
Next earlier tonight, and West Virginia is accused of faking
injuries to slow down Syracuse in the fourth quarter after
(39:28):
Syracuse one with a eighteen victory. Do you care about
West Virginia possibly faking injuries? Listen, mad we got some controversy,
but believe it. Of course, look gamesmanship, some tactics. I'm
into it. I listen. It's not like in boxing where um,
where trainers have been caught giving a substance to a
fighter in between rounds so that he can breathe better.
(39:50):
I've had those instances. Or you're putting plaster on your
gloves so it makes you hit harder and do more damage.
If a guy's out there resting to try and get
an extra blow in a bowl game, at least he
cares about the meaningless game. At least he's there. So
because he cares enough to fake an injury, I'm gonna
care enough to support him. One more. What do we got?
Antonio Gates has hinted at playing another season. It would
(40:12):
be his seventeenth season in the NFL. Do you care
Antonio Gates coming back? I actually do because he was
gone and then Hunter Henry suffered an injury and now
they had to bring back Antonio Gates and he's a
shell of what he was, but he can still be productive.
And I love seeing guys like that who continue to
play and play as long as they can keep cash
(40:33):
and checks. I still think Tony Gonzalez could have kept
playing if he wanted to. Jason Witten tried to get
talked out of retirement by Jason Garrett a couple of times.
If you can play, if you've got good hands, and
you can be out there for a small percentage of
the time, go make your money while you can. And
that was this week's edition of Do You Care Jonas
Knocks Here Fox Sports Radio. We got more out of
(40:54):
the world of football. Some angry people next here on
FS are so one of the all time great coaches
in the history of football actually believes in something that
I do. He actually agrees with me, alright, believe it
or not, he agrees with me. I'll explain who that
is coming up here, and you will hear from him
(41:14):
in just a couple of moments. Jonas Knocks Here on
Fox Sports Radio. You can check out the show on
the I Heart Radio app. You can find us on
Sirius XM channel eighty three, and on every single one
of our Fox Sports Radio affiliates. Wherever you are taking
part in the program. We always appreciate a few minutes
of your time as we come to you live here
from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, where fifteen minutes

could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance.
Visit Geico dot com for a free rate quote Albie,
I don't know that there's been a crazier football weekend
in a long time, just with everything that's on the line. Um,
obviously Saturday you got the college football Playoff, which is
gonna be fun regardless. And look, I've I've been critical
of the expansion and critical of the bowl games eating
(42:00):
up into this point. I think a lot of people have.
I think there's just it doesn't feel like this year
has the the luster that maybe other years have. It
just I don't know if it's if it's the buzz,
if it's the schedule, if it's uh the way it
broke down on the calendar, but it doesn't doesn't feel
like there's the buzz surrounded the playoffs as they have
in years past. Then you go to Sunday in the NFL,
(42:20):
You've got all these games at the same time. There's
sixteen games going on, and I think nine of them
are in the late window so you've got all these
teams competing for the same playoff spots and and they're
playing at the same time. So if I were a coach,
that would kiss me off. Either put me first or
put me second, so I don't have to stress out
(42:42):
about it. But from a viewing standpoint, is a fan,
it's gonna be a lot of fun that that's one
of those sports bar days where you can't watch those
games at home. You have to go to a sports bar.
You have to you need multiple TVs. You've got to
have multiple things going on because you need to be
able to watch simultaneous lee. So it's like, uh, the
Thursday and the Friday of March Madness. It's always fun
(43:04):
when you go to Vegas, always fun watching it a
sports book. Always better to watch at a sports bar
because if there's that many games going on at the
same time, you've got to be able to keep track
of all of them. And if you're an NFL fan,
that late window of games on Sunday is craziness. So
we're gonna have a lot on that coming up on
the show tomorrow as we get set for that. But
(43:25):
one of the things that's become a topic of conversation.
There's been um leading up into this weekend in college football.
The conversations have been have been somewhat interesting when it
comes to, Uh, Kyler Murray. Okay, Kyler Murray, what does
he do to sport athletes? Should he play two sports? Um?
Then you look at his size. Uh, you look at
the offer he has in baseball, the contract that's there,
(43:48):
he's already been drafted. That's a lock. Does he go
to the pros? I mean, who knows? If Kyler Murray
goes out and plays really well against an Alabama defense
and lights it up, and then goes on to play
in the National Championship Game and lights it up there
as well too, I mean, we could be changing the
conversation on Kyler Murray big time. There's still gonna be
scouts out there in the NFL who are going to say, uh,
(44:12):
you know, he doesn't he doesn't have the size. He can't.
He can't withstand the heat, can't withstand the damage. I
look at Lamar Jackson, bigger body, still getting banged up
a little bit. There's gonna be those guys, But at
least it will change the conversation all the altogether. So
that's been a topic of conversation. Um. The other topic
of conversation is when do we get an eight team playoff? Right?
(44:33):
Because we're now not okay with the four teams majority
of people out there that I've talked to, and I
feel like I'm in the minority. I'm okay with it
just being four. I'm willing to compromise. We talked about it,
and I always say when I had a good back
and forth last hour, I'm willing to compromise and go
to six. If you want to tell me give two
teams one and to get a bye week and give
(44:56):
three verse six, four, verse five, I'm open mind to
do that. That's fine. But I still am okay with
there being four a college football playoff. They're being four.
There's always gonna be a team that feels like it's
been left out. It's it's the way it's always been,
whether be the n c A Tournament or not. It's
always gonna be that way. If they're sixty four teams
in the n c A Tournament, team number sixty five
(45:18):
feels like they got screwed. If there's four teams in
the college football playoff, team number five feels like they
got jobbed. If there's eight teams in the college football playoff,
team number nine feels like they deserved an opportunity to
be there. So it's always going to be a conversation.
But Tom one of our favorites on this show, Nick Saban,
Alabama coach. I call him one of my favorite red
(45:39):
asses in the history of football. Baker Mayfield is slowly
creeping up by the way, he is slowly becoming a
favorite of mine on this show. But Nick Saban, who
is in the open to this show. Uh, we play
as much sound of Nick Saban as we possibly can
because I just find him funny. I think Nick say
(46:00):
been Scott the media fooled. There's no way that a
guy is this much of a curmudgeon and still land
some of the top recruits in the country. Because if
you're that miserable of a human being, you can kind
of spotted early on in a conversation, Okay, like you
know which one of your friends is the most negative,
because it always pops up pretty quick into the conversation,
(46:21):
Hey man, how's it going, What's what's going on in life?
How's life going? That's you know, it's cool, just just
working nice man, that's Awesomey you're making money, that's what
you call it. Like, there's just there's always that one
guy cannot let in a minute go by without complaining
about something. If Nick Saban was such a curmudgeon that
we think he is, he wouldn't be able to land
(46:43):
these recruits when he goes to recruit every single off season,
because you could spot the negativity. If he was so bad,
why is he such a good TV analyst? So to me,
I'm a fan of Nick Saban. I think he's Miagi
the media. I think he's Miagi the public. I think
people have totally misread him and that's the way that
he wants it. But Nick Saban actually agrees with me.
(47:03):
And Nick Saban talked about the college football playoff this
week in preparation for Saturday's doubleheader. I was opposed to
going from two teams to four teams. Look, I think
there's been a unique thing about college football. A lot
of people get a lot of positive self gratification from
being able to go to a bowl game. That means
(47:24):
you had a successful season. A lot of players get
rewarded for that, and I think the playoff has become
and will continue to become as it expands, to minimize
the importance of those games, maybe to the point where
those games won't even exist. When we had a two
team playoff, I said, if we go to four teams,
it's going to minimize that. So you know, you're gonna
(47:46):
see more players not playing in bowl games, are gonna
see less people going to bowl games, are gonna see
the quality of bowl games or the importance of them
sort of disintegrate. I'm not really for going to eight
teams in the playoff. It's a hype of medical question.
I have enough issues and problems to solve without thinking
about how I'm gonna manage something that may or may
(48:08):
not even happen. There he is, baby, that's my guy.
Great minds think alike, and then sometimes great minds like
Nick Saban and and mediocre minds like myself think alike,
and we are on the same page. Rouno, keep the
round of applause going, man, our studio audience kicking enough.
Nick Saban, who called it like we've been calling it. Man,
(48:30):
you say you want it, you say you want the
extra games, you want all this stuff, and then you realize, yeah,
it's kind of taking the luster off a lot of
other things, like here's here's the other aspect to this
that I think people are losing. If you extend the playoff,
the sense of urgency to get in isn't as great. Okay,
the sense of urgency again. There there's one thing about
(48:53):
like in Major League Baseball, you've got the wild card, right.
Wild card was a great invention of Major League Baseball
because it gave other teams an opportunity to get into
the playoffs, but not too many, So that way you
still don't lose the integrity of the top teams in
the league and in each league, but you also are
giving some people hope that they can get into the
(49:13):
playoffs as well too. So what ends up happening is
that when you extend it so far, then the regular
season just doesn't become as important. And that's one of
the selling points on college football. There is nothing like
a big game college football on a Saturday. There's nothing
like it, whether you're watching the SEC on CBS or
(49:35):
a big Big ten matchup on Fox or whatever. Like,
there's there's nothing like a big college football game in
the fall that means a lot and seasons are on
the line. It's so huge and it's fun to watch
in the atmosphere. If you've ever been to one of
those games, there's so much fun to watch and so
much fun to be around. If you take away their importance,
(49:58):
they're not as much fun. You do lose the luster.
That's a fact. If you don't think so. Look at
college basketball. When's the last time you turned on a
must watch college basketball game that was a regular season game?
I can't think of any, honest to god, Like what what?
(50:19):
What is it? The Maui Invitational because it's uh, it's
it's Thanksgiving and there's something to bet on after you've
eaten turkey. Like, honest to god, I don't know. Like,
like the last time I tuned into a college basketball
regular season matchup thinking I gotta watch that one, it's
because it doesn't matter. They're gonna lose, Okay, so maybe
(50:39):
there'll be a two seed instead of a one. Big whoop.
It doesn't matter. It's all about the tournament. It is
turned college basketball as great as it is, it's turned
college basketball into a three week sport. And I would
even downgrade it from that. It's a three weekend sport.
So if you're college football, look around see what isn't
(51:02):
working elsewhere When you have too many, it doesn't create
a sense of urgency. So now imagine having an eight
team playoff all of a sudden. Those late season matchups
in college football just aren't as great. The conference championship games.
They're just not as great because there's gonna be teams
sitting at one, two, or three that if they lose whatever,
(51:23):
we'll drop down to seven. Big deal, it does the matter.
We're still in. It's all that matters. We just want
to get in. So, like I said, I'm willing to compromise.
You want to take the four team playoff and turn
it into six, you want to go that direction, that's fine.
Teams one and to get a buy three, place six,
four place five, I'm all right with that. But to
(51:43):
Nick Saban's point, you lose the luster on college football.
It's already lost a little bit of the luster. Look
at some of the jokes that were making about some
of these bowl games that have been on so far.
So I think Nick Saban's spot on here. It's what
we've been saying, is what I've been saying on the
show here for for quite some time. Do not extend
it anymore. But that being said, I acknowledge that there's
(52:05):
so much money involved that is probably gonna happen, and
I think it's gonna be a mistake. Jonas Knocks Fox

hell are you doing? Man? Honestly, why does the NFL
do this? This is something the NFL does routinely and
I just don't know why. Doesn't make any sense, and
they continue to do it and they continue to shoot
themselves in the foot. Find out what it is next
here on Fox Sports Radio, Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio
(52:53):
going to you live here from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio Studios. What song is this? Sam? What this? Uh?
Like a white Heart or something like that? What is it?
It's a band called Anvil like Jim the Avil, Knightheart.
I don't know that song called Yeah Jim the Anvil. Ninhart,
former pro wrestler, just passed away. Did Yeah, I did?
(53:16):
He was part of the Heart Foundation. I remember him.
I think he was on Pro Wrestler Reporn Star this
past year because we did it. We do our tribute
to our tow pro wrestlers who passed away. They make
an appearance in the game. By the way, speaking of which,
so um and we will get to the NFL has
done something that I don't know why they continued to do.
It's just dumb. The NBA does it to it, it's dumb.
It didn't make any sense. Um Jonah snocks Fox Sports Radio.
(53:40):
By the way, if I didn't already say that. So
last week we did a best of Pro Wrestler Reporn
Star because I figured, you know, we'll go out the
year with the bang and uh, we'll do a best of.
But there were so many good names from this past
year that I figured, you know what, why we do
a best of part two? A Right, So the last
(54:03):
Pro Wrestler Reporn Star of the year, Right, the last
one of the year will be coming up less than
ten minutes from now. If you want to be a
part of the final Pro Wrestler Reporn Star. So this
is the best of part two of eight seven seven
nine on Fox is the number to call eight seven
(54:23):
seven six six three six nine pro wrestler Reporn Star
less than ten minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio.
So so we'll have some fun with that. UM, all right.
So I don't I don't know why the NFL does
this and the NBA does it too, and it just
doesn't make any sense to me. So the NFL has
(54:45):
this thing to where UM if there, it's like they
make them, they'll go back and review. And so what
they'll do is UM and I think it's later in
the week. Al Riveron, who's the VP of officiating, UH,
goes back and will talk about calls that officials have
missed the week before, right, And so what I'll do
(55:07):
is they'll you know, he makes his weekly appearance and says, oh,
you know, we missed, we missed that, we missed this play,
we missed that. And so now it's kind of getting
a little bit of heat because our river n is
saying that there was UM a flag that was thrown
in which Jamal Adams was flagged for past interference on
(55:28):
Packers tight end Jimmy Graham last week. UM, he is
saying that that was not the right call, all right,
so that p I should not have been made, that
that call should not have made uh and whatnot. And
so the pushback immediately that they're getting is, well, hey,
what about the past interference call on Joe Hayden of
the Saints against the U Joe Hayden of the Steelers
(55:50):
against the Saints? What about those? Are you guys also
going to point out how it looked like one past
interference call the ball was tipped at the line, which
means that that it should have been waved off, and
it's not considered pass interference of the balls tipped of
the line. So he never mentions those. He never mentions
the one that everybody is focusing on. It's only the
(56:11):
one in the Jets and the Packers game. And I
don't know why the NFL does anything at all? Why
do you do it? Why do you even acknowledge that
you missed a call? There's nothing you can do about it.
It's over with. You're not gonna go back in time
and fix the game. You're not gonna go back in
time and make the right call retroactively, So just let
(56:34):
it go. Why why why stir it up? Why why
keep why why even let anybody know anything? The NBA
does it too, The NBA does this last two minute
report that I've never understood to where they'll go back
and look at the last two minutes of a game
and they'll show you every single play that they've missed
as an officiating crew. Why, Like, I don't understand. We
(56:59):
would never do that in our personal life. This would
never happen personally. You would never go home to your
wife and say or your girlfriend and say, hey, just
so you know, I got really close to fooling around
on you, but I didn't, So I just want to
be transparent with you here, she'd say, excuse you, Like what, like,
(57:23):
there are certain things you learned early on. Don't bring
that stuff up right, just not a good idea. Let
that go, you know, just don't so you you know,
you you weren't the You weren't the greatest guy in
the world. You know, maybe you're maybe you got a
lap dance when you probably shouldn't have in the V
I P section, you know, maybe maybe you shouldn't have
done those things, but you know what, you didn't go
all the way through with it. It was a mistake.
(57:43):
But maybe you don't need to be that transparent about everything.
The NFL, for some reason, feels the need to be
to want to be transparent about everything, and then when
they do miss calls or they don't mention calls, and
our riveron doesn't make a statement on the one that
everybody's talking and about, which is what happened in the
Steelers in the Saints, which could end up costing the
(58:04):
Steelers the playoffs and Mike Tomlin his job, and who
knows what other changes are coming in Pittsburgh. They don't
mention that one, but they'll talk about Jimmy Grant and
Jamal Adams. It doesn't I don't know why leagues do this.
If you can't take it back, don't bring it up.
Like toothpasts out of the tube, you can't get it
(58:24):
back in. So why bring it up at all? Why
do a two minute report in the final a couple
of minutes? Why why do a final two minute report?
Why even go back and look at plays that you've missed.
It doesn't make sense. If I'm a team, I don't
want to hear about it. It's over with. Nothing's going
to change. Nothing you do is going to change the
(58:45):
fact that we lost that game and you blew a call.
So why bringing up at all? And for some reason,
the NFL does it. Uh, the NBA doesn't, and it
doesn't make any sense. Remember years ago, um, the umpired
first base that blew the perfect game. There was a
guy was going for a perfect game of on the Tigers.
(59:09):
I forget the guy's name, going for a perfect game
on Annabel Sanchez. I want to say it was going
for a perfect game. The guy missed a call at
first base, totally whipped, costing the perfect game. And uh,
they come to find it afterwards. He goes in the
tunnel and he looks at it and he says, I
totally blew it. I blew it. Um, you know I
(59:29):
should have made the call and I didn't, and I
cost him a perfect game. And he felt horrible. The
umpire felt horrible. He was crying, literally had tears in
his eyes because of how guilty he felt about it.
And I remember thinking at the time, and you know,
good for him, good for him for acknowledging that he
made a mistake. Um, if I'm Annibal Sanchez, that does
nothing for me. Sorry, man, but you cost me a
(59:50):
shot in history. Does nothing for me that It doesn't
do anything. It doesn't change the fact that I could
add a perfect game and you blew the call. It
doesn't change it. So our river on can go out
and make all these videos and talk about all the
calls they missed and the ones they got wrong and
how they need to get better at it. Now it's
not good for the game and not good for this
and that he could do it all he wants, but
(01:00:11):
it doesn't change the fact that you missed the call,
and talking about it afterwards only continues the conversation more
and more. The NBA should get rid of the last
two minute report. It's dumb. It doesn't do anybody any good,
and they should stop going back. If you're the NFL
and talking about calls you missed, save it for the
off season. Don't do it the week after a game,
(01:00:34):
because some of these calls could factor into jobs, playoff wins, bonuses,
playoff appearances. You talking about it afterwards, if you're not
going to change it, don't even bring it up. It's
a waste of time. Eight seven seven on Foxes the
phone number Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio eight seven seven
(01:00:54):
six three six nine. That is an important number. And
here's why. It is the final edition of Pro Wrestler
Porn Star eighteen. All Right, I thought last week was
all right, it was not. It is the final edition
of Pro Wrestler Reporn Star twenty eighteen. We did the
best of last week. We've got a best of part
two completely different names from a week ago. But the
(01:01:17):

disrespect from Lou Williams shown to his former team. On
Friday night, he dropped thirty six points for the Clippers.
They beat the Lakers at Staples one eighteen to one
oh seven. Lakers have lost five of their last seven
and R O and two with Lebron James. Clippers, by
the way, I've won four of their last five games.
The Nuggets get thirty one points, which of Maul Murray
(01:02:00):
Nicola Yoki twenty one points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
As Denver has won eight consecutive home games. They would
beat the Spurs one oh two to ninety nine. Pelicans
get forty eight points in seventeen rebounds from Anthony Davis
in a one fourteen to one twelve victory over the
Dallas Mavericks. The Magic get thirty points and twenty rebounds
from Nick Vussevic in a one sixteen eighty seven victory

Hawks beat the t Walls in overtime one twenty three,

we are going to give you inside access like you've
never had before. Alright, So stick around. That's coming up
fifteen minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio. So
Pro Wrestler porn Storm. Um, so we're doing a best
(01:03:51):
of part two, all right, completely different names from a
week ago. We did a best of a week ago.
There were so many quality names in the one eighteen
year that we decided, you know what, we've got to
have a part two. We cannot just stick with one
part of Pro Wrestler Porn Star. If there's gonna be
a best of, there's gotta be two editions. That second
(01:04:13):
edition is coming up now. Wrestlers love that you have
an affection for Big Mass. Is that time maybe Pro
Wrestler or Porn Star here on Fox Sports Radio as
we go around the country sometimes around the world for
(01:04:36):
those that want to participate in the hottest game show,
literally the hottest game show anywhere on sports radio. So
let's find out who wants to be a part of it.
Let's go all the way out to um Let's go
to a place that is, uh that is home to
what is it called? What is that place where you live?
Or is it Mauie Dave's or something like that, Maui uh,
(01:04:57):
Mauie Robbie's. Uh the place you go to Iowa Sam
that bar here here in l A, Yeah, yeah, right, Encino,
Maui Sugar Mill, Salute Maui Mauie Billy's or whatever it's called. Yeah,
it's it's a fine place. Uh. And the reason I
bring it up is because David is on line number
five one on one of our one thousand phone lines
(01:05:19):
here at Fox Sports Radio, and he is in Encino. David,
what's happening? The Encino Man is back? As I predicted,
the Falcons would blow out the Patriots the Jets. My
Jets will win money line on Sunday to go into
the off season on a good note. Hey Jonas again,
(01:05:40):
my good fal David? What the hell are you talking about? Man? Hey,
So if you're the Encino man, did you so? Did
that block of ice melt in that guy's garage and
you came out of it? Yes? Exactly, that's good? All right, see,
I'm into it. Uh yeah, in Encino man? Now are
you do you go and eat microwave burritos with Paul
(01:06:02):
Shore as well too? And Encino man? Do you do that? Also?
A right? Hey David? If you've been to that place?
What's it called again? Was it? Uh? Mauie Steve's what's
it called? Us? Sam? What's that place? A sugar mills?
That place? Have you been to Mauie Sugar Mill Saloon?
I have not, but I will look into it. Yeah,
is that where you and Gavin took me that one time?
(01:06:23):
And there's nobody there? Yes, but they have concerts every night,
and it's like standing room only. They're there. Yeah, no,
I've heard they do like jazz call. It's actually a
pretty fun place. But but the time we went there,
no exaggeration, all right. So yeah, so I always Sam's
got a drinking partner, and so David is with us
(01:06:43):
here on Fox Sports Trading. Let's find out who wants
to be a part of the game, you know, let's
go to the Big d, which is probably appropriate for
this game. Richard is in Detroit listening here on Fox
Sports Trading. Richard, what's happening, Richard Brown? The copy Richard
race course, because I've got the We're the fastest is
(01:07:04):
for scrab a word and I've heard to Rob Parker.
I can tell your stories about Mr Parker way back
from my My, My guy, Rob Parker. I hold hey, hold,
hold hold on, hey, Richard holding Okay, let's just hey,
let's you know, it's like Denzel Washington and Training Day Dog.
(01:07:25):
Just let's go ahead, let's just let's relax. We're we're
all friends here. There's a major echo going on. I
don't know if I'm being abducted by aliens. Are ready
to do a sports radio show? Here, But does anybody
else here that echo? Or is it just me? I heard?
All right? So so Richard? Um so, Rob Parker, I
did shows with Rob Parker all week long. He's one
(01:07:47):
of my favorite people in the business. Um So, you
know Rob Parker, I could tell you a story about him.
Is it appropriate for on the end? Okay? Okay? He's
friends of Dave Justice. Right, Dave was mad at a
Hallie Berry for putting him down on Oprah what kind
of a husband he was and stuff. So he says,
(01:08:07):
So Rob Parker's asking what's it like to be with
Hallie Berry and Dave Justice is kind of mad? He says, well,
I'd never go with an ugly woman, but she's too
much like into herself. I want a woman that gives
of herself. So Mr Parker says, I want to hold
a contest. He says, would you rather be one of
was one of the most beautiful women in the world
who's so so in bed or with a sexual freak?
(01:08:31):
And the people actually vote for the sexual freak over
Hallie Barry, And of course Rob Parker went that direction
with it. Of course he did. You gotta have the
bull you got. Kevin figures you know Rob Parker, Well,
are you surprised Rob Parker took that angle with the
David Justice interview? The thing and he says, does let's
(01:08:51):
do York? You know, he's very blured about it. Given
Tave Justice a shot at an older, black beaded Dave
Ker does a much a bad talk about his wife.
That way the park better. Terrific guy. Yeah, I will
do so. Yeah, Yeah, I do too, Rob. Alright, So
(01:09:14):

used at some point throughout the year. All right, that's
why it's the best of part two. I'm gonna start

guys are tied at the end of this list, we
got a sudden depth overtime. Easy enough, alright, let's go it.
All right, David, you are a kind man for for
(01:09:37):
letting Richard grab the steering wheel there and not allow
you to speak for one single second. Went off on
what he did. All right, here we go David and Richard. Uh.
We will start off with David. David Are you ready

a porn star, David. Next name up for you here
is King Kong Cox, pro wrestler, a porn star port.
(01:11:51):
That is incorrect. Now, hey, listen, I wish it was
all right. That is a that is a heck of
a name, King Han Cocks. I wish it was, but
unfortunately it is not. That is a pro wrestler. So
we go back over to Hey, God, no he does not,
oh man, alright, So we go back over to Richard
(01:12:15):
in Detroit. You're odd Fox Sports Radio. Richard. You could
tie it up here on pro wrestler porn star. If
you get this correct? You ready the name for Richard
is tweaker Pro Wrestler porn Star. That is incorrect. That
is incorrect. Yeah, that is a tweaker, is a porn star.
(01:12:39):
You could probably imagine what that sort of looks like.
So we we go back over to David and Encino,
still holding onto a to one lead. David, next name
up for you here on Pro Wrestler Porn Star is
Reno Scum Pro Wrestler porn Star, and tin Man is
going to go ahead and take porn Star. That is incorrect. Believable.
(01:13:05):
You guys have gone ice cold on the field. Uh
and it's still just a two one lead for kids,
perfect all right? Uh? Was it wasn't Annibal Sanchez? Wow?
Whatever Annibal? Yeah? Okay, well Gallaraga Sanchez. I mean look
(01:13:31):
for tigers whatever it's called, Jack Morris, we'll call it even.
We'll sleep, all right. So we go back to uh
Detroit here on Pro Wrestler porn Star. Richard, another chance
to tie the game here on Pro Wrestler porn So
the name for you here is Cherry Potter Pro Wrestler
(01:13:51):
porn Star. That is incorrect. Unbelievable, you guys, this is unbelievable.
Cherry Potter is this a sprint phone from like, I'm
honest to god, where did you find a phone booth?
(01:14:12):
This is amazing. This is great. By the way, Cherry Potter,
what a name. Back back over to David and Nencino.
We go, David, here's the situation. If you get this correct,
the game's over right, alright, So so Richard is going
to have a heart attack if you get this correct.
(01:14:34):
Is all invested in this game? Not alright? So yeah,
you know that. Alright, David, This is David and Nencino
to win the game here on pro Wrestler porn Star.
The name for you here is Country Pipes pro Wrestler,
(01:14:57):
a porn star. Poor star baby, that is correct, has
done it. Three Pipes is a porn star. But but
(01:15:18):
here we go, because look, David and en Cino, you've
done it. You've won the game. Richard, Richard, We're still
gonna keep you on because we feel like if we
keep you on any longer, your voice is going to
crack into oblivion, or, as Mike Tyson would say, fade
into Bolivia. So, Richard, we've got a couple of more
(01:15:38):
names for you. We aren't going to write to you,
all right, So as so Richard, this is it's already over, David,
so you can keep celebrating you already Richard, because this
is the best of volume two Black Mamba Pro Wrestler Report.
That is correct, Richard looked on him. He doesn't mean anything.
It's like one of these bold games we've been watching,
(01:15:58):
a committed and then finally, Um, I'm gonna read this name.
This would have been your tiebreaker. Yeah, So I'm gonna
read this to both of you guys. Your your name
is your buzzer, all right, and then the person who
buzzes in first, we'll get the chance to to guess
the name again. This alright, Richard, let's okay, just tell you. Listen, Hey, Richard,
(01:16:21):
how much coffee do you drink? I woke up, just
woke up like this. I woke up. What do you do?
Sleep upside down? Are you a bat or something? You've
got so much energy, man, it's list I believe it, man,
I absolutely believe it. All right. So I'm gonna read
the name of your name is your buzzer. After I
(01:16:43):
read the name, you'll get the chance to guess the
name pro Wrestlers all right, Uh, the name for you
guys here that would have been the tiebreaker had David
not one and Richard not lost the name. For you
guys here, the final name ever read on Pro Wrestler
Porn Star is Wong Buck Chang. Hold hold on, hold on, Richard. Yeah,
(01:17:08):
for the love of twice, Richard Wong Buck Chang Pro
Wrestler Report support. That is correct. That's good for you, Richard. Unfortunately,
it does not change the fact that David in Encino
is your final Pro Wrestler Star champion for eighteen well,
(01:17:29):
second time. Second, it's all about It's what it's all about, David. Congratulations. Uh,
A hell of a job there, Richard in Detroit. When
are you going to bed next September? For me? You
tell that guy we've been hippie wouldn't have liked humiliating me,
(01:17:51):
all right? Uh, I don't even know who who? Uh,
I don't want to ask me? Now? How about that
he's vacationing, right, We're we're slummeted here at Fox Sports
Radio while he vacations. Congratulations alright, So Richard is in Detroit,
a guy who, for some reason as an echo on
his phone and more energy than any human thing I've
(01:18:12):
ever met in my life. All right, I don't I
don't know. Uh. Like if somebody were to say to you, hey,
what does what does cocaine do? Not saying Richard does cocaine, right,
But if somebody were to say what does cocaine do? Uh,
they would just say, well, it kind of does this,
and they would put Richard on the phone. That guy's
got energy, it is, alright. Jonas knocks here Fox Sports
(01:18:34):
Radio Company Alive from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
All right, coming up next, We've got a sneak peek
into what it's actually like to play in a bowl
game inside Access. Next here on Fox Sports Radio, Jonahs
knocks Fox Sports Radio Company Alive from the Geico Fox
Sports Radio Studios on the heels of a wild final
(01:18:56):
edition of eighteen a pro wrestler porn Star. Uh. We
turn it over here on Fox Sports Radio to Kevin Figures.
All right, Kevin Figures has gathered up the information that
we have requested. We're gonna we're gonna touch on these
throughout the course of the show. Um, but we have
found grab bags, all right, grab bags from bowl like
(01:19:19):
bowl games swag. Um so so, Kevin Figure, there are
several lists out there Bowl game swag? Um, what what
is jumping out to you? Because we don't have a
lot of time this hour, but I do want to
dive deeper into this as the show progresses, just to
see what these guys are getting from some of these
bowl games. So some that stand out. From last week's
Frisco Bowl between San Diego State in Ohio, they got
(01:19:41):
a cowboy hat, a beanie and a big game football.
Oh are you're kidding? Sorry? A cowboy hat? Sure, the
kids of San Diego State would love that. They'll eat
that one, eat that one up. How about this from
the Birmingham Bowl Memphis and wait, forest Focley, backpack or sunglasses,
cooling hoodie and a f ball See okay, but that
(01:20:02):
I could get some use out of. Who the hell's
weren't a cowboy? What do you wear that once a
year to like the chili cook off when you were
in a cowboy hand? And again considering the opponents San
Diego State in Ohio, when I think cowboy hats, those
are the two places I think more than anything else,
to talk about forcing your product down somebody's throat that
doesn't want it. Who wants the cowboy hats? That's ridiculous. Oh,
(01:20:22):
the quick Land Bowls pretty solid. Georgia Teken Minnesota got
a hundred and seventy five dollar Best Buy gift cards
over the year. Wireless headphones, life size fat head decal
of themselves. How about that? Okay, Now I'm into that.
That That makes a lot of sense, and you can
put that in your dorm room and then it turns
into a big joke you laid on your buddy while
he's passed out. I'm into all that stuff, all right.
So those are good not bad, all right. So we
(01:20:44):
got more of that throughout the show. Jonas Knocks Fox
Sports Radio back next for our three. So we got
a little bit of good news. We got a little
bit of bad news for coaches in the NFL who
were expecting nothing but bad news. I'll explain what that
is coming up here momentarily, Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio.

(01:21:28):

that Final Sundays has taken on a different shape and
a different look. Um, And it's really I've noticed the
past couple of years. So I normally do a show
on on Sunday's right after the games go final, the
late games and into the Sunday night game with Brady Quinn.
(01:21:49):
And so we do a show. We've been doing it
for a couple of years on Fox Sports Radio and
it's an a p m. Eastern time, five o'clock Pacific.
And I've noticed that the past couple of years has
had a different tone on a Week seventeen because there
are stories that are going on. One set of the
stories are playoff implications. Um, what do these games mean?
(01:22:11):
What happened? How does it break down? Last year, the
Bengals beat the Ravens in Week seventeen, Baltimore chokes away
the lead, Cincinnati wins that game, and Buffalo sneaks into
the playoffs as a six seed. But then the other
aspect that also goes on Week seventeen is coaches are
(01:22:31):
starting to get fired Black Monday. The term black Monday,
that's just kind of still there because it fits. But
in reality, a lot of these firings are done right
after the games are over on Sunday. And so you
start to look around the NFL, and because the patients
in the NFL, because there's such a short leash on
(01:22:53):
these head coaching jobs, you've got constant turnover in the NFL.
I can remember a year ago um the NFL had
there was reportedly ten coaches that were on the hot
seat entering the final week of the season. That just
imagine if all ten of those guys had lost their job,
it's like a third of the league. I mean, that's
(01:23:13):
a third of the league. Like at your company, if
they if they fire a third of the employees, you
know what that's called. That's called downsizing, that's called we're
in trouble, all right. We're close to not being able
to function at all as a company. If we're firing
a third of our employees. It's a big deal. In
the NFL, it's just a lack of patients and a
(01:23:34):
lack of results. According to the people making the decision upstairs.
And so because they don't have that patience, guys are
gonna lose their job. And so there's already been the
rumblings of who's going to be next. Okay, we've already
seen a couple of coaches go Hugh Jackson in Cleveland,
and you saw Mike McCarthy in Green Bay, and so
(01:23:55):
some of the other coaches that are rumored to be
on their way out, Um, some of them I sort
of under stand, Uh, some of them, I'm I'm kind
of curious as to why that would be the perception
that they would be gone. But I do think it's
about how you leave, Like there is something about how
you exit, because for some of these coaches, this isn't
(01:24:16):
gonna be the last time. Okay, how you left really matters.
And so while this is not a good day for
these coaches, they're gonna be losing their jobs. And I
hate people to lose jobs. I don't care what line
of work you're in. I never root for it. And
another say a guy should be fired. I'll never say
a guy should lose his job. But the rumblings are
out there about coaches who are on the hot seats
(01:24:36):
I want to go over just a couple of these
because I do think there's a clear distinction between some
of these coaches and the other ones, because I feel
like there's still a bright future out there. They've still
done enough quality work that they're they're going to be
considered for gigs. And then there's other coaches to where
this is it. They're just not gonna get another chance.
I can't see it. Um. The first one that jumps
out to me is Todd Bowls. Todd Bowls time in
(01:24:59):
New York work, UH, And I was saying this last year.
I felt bad for Todd Bowles because it was a
clear rebuild. They had no interest in wanting to try
and go out and acquire a bunch of talent. It
was all about stripping salary, getting rid of veterans, Nick Mangold,
the works. All these guys are gone. We're moving in
(01:25:19):
a different direction. And I felt bad for Todd Bowls.
I can remember talking to Alex Marvez, who's a Fox
Sports Radio NFL analyst UH and NFL insider, and Alex
Marvez said even back then that Tod at the owners meetings,
that there was talk at the owners meetings that the
Jets were gonna give Todd Bowles an extension, and this
(01:25:40):
was last year. They were going to give him an
extension because they felt bad about the position that he
was in. They felt like, you know, Todd Bowles is
a you know, he's a quality guy and a good
football coach. We just don't have any talent form on
the roster, and we feel like we, you know, we
he deserves at least another chance when we get a
more talented team. So Todd Bowles is a guy who
(01:26:03):
everybody assumes is going to be out of a job,
and I get it. I understand why the move would
be made. You've got a young quarterback, you've got a
defensive coach. The way the NFL and the direction the
NFL is going, you're gonna want to bring in an
offensive guy to work with a young quarterback. We've seen
it work in Chicago, seen it work in l A,
seen it work in Philly. That's the direction that the
(01:26:24):
NFL is going. And I could see the Jets making
the move. I you know, it's one of the jobs
I could see Jim Harbaugh really considering, because when you
get to work with a quarterback like that, who's got
so much talent like Sam Donald, and it's a big
enough market where the money is gonna be there. I
could see the allure. I could see them being something
(01:26:46):
that Jim Harbor would be interested in. And I think
whoever gets the gig, they're gonna try and go big.
They see this as an opportunity as the second team
in the city to try and go out and get
a big time candidate. So I could or stand Jim Harbaugh.
As it pertains to Todd Bowles, I think he's still
gonna be in the mix for a job, maybe not
(01:27:06):
this offseason, but the next offseason or the one after that.
Because there's not a lot of people out there who
say Todd Bowls can't coach. Aton coach and guys play
for him. That was evident a year ago when they
stripped down the roster and guys didn't play, and they
totally over exceeded. They totally exceeded any expectation you had
before the Jets before the season. So I think Todd
(01:27:27):
Bowles is gonna be fine all right. I think he's
a guy who moving forward, was still going to be
on a coaching staff somewhere. I still think he's going
to be considered for some of these other jobs down
the road, because I think his reputation is still intact.
Steve Wilkes of the Cardinals, look, it's gonna be a
one and done. He's probably on his way out. I
(01:27:49):
think Mike McCarthy being on the open market and Mike
McCarthy reportedly having mutual interest with the Arizona Cardinals and
them having interest in him, I think Mike McCarthy being
out on the open market makes this a lot easier
of a decision for the Arizona Cardinals. Um, it's not
been a good year. It's not like the Cardinals were
expected to be a great team this season going into
(01:28:12):
the year. I'll be honest with you, I kind of
whiffed on the Cardinals because they were the lowest over
underwind total expected this season. Like if you were to
if you were to go in to this season and
you were to look at over underwind totals, the Arizona
Cardinals were at six and a half. And I remember
going on the air because I'm an idiot, and I
(01:28:33):
remember going on the air and saying, hold on a second.
They got Chandler Jones and David Johnson the quarterback position,
is gonna be better. Patrick Peterson, like Larry Fitzgerald still there,
They're gonna be much better than that. You know, there's
still some talent there. I love the over under of
five and a half or six or whatever it was
for Arizona. Here we are there three and twelve, and
they're gonna go three and thirteen when they lose the
(01:28:55):
Seattle So what do I know. So it's not been
a good year for Steve Wilkes. It's not been a
good look. But I still feel like Steve Wilkes is
going to get another opportunity because I think people around
the NFL are educated enough to realize, Look, he's done
some good work. UM players do like playing for him.
Veterans have spoken out on his behalf. He's gonna be
(01:29:18):
one of these guys that goes on to be a coordinator. Uh,
he's gonna be one of these guys that goes on
to to coach defense again and then when they come
back around for interviews in the next couple of years,
I think he's gonna be fine. Vance Joseph is another
guy who's reportedly on his way out in Denver. I
don't think Vance Joseph is gonna get another job or
really don't. Not not saying he won't get another job
(01:29:40):
on a staff. I think he's you know, that's gonna
be their for him. And it's not to speak out
negatively against Vance Joseph the person, because I don't know
him and I've never heard bad things about him, But
the way that they've looked in big time moments, it's
tough to get that out of your mind. The way
that they look on primetime television on Saturday Night a
(01:30:04):
couple of weeks ago against the Browns, when Vance Joseph
down by four and the ball inside the ten, decided
to kick the field goal and afterwards said, because I
wanted the points, Yeah, but it wasn't enough points. So
what was the point? Like you had already gone for
(01:30:26):
it on fourth down earlier in the drive. It didn't
make any sense. So optically, Vance Joseph looks like a
guy who was over as skis and and didn't understand
how the game worked. And and if you ask anybody
in Denver that's covered the team or the past couple
of years, Vance Joseph has made dumb decisions like that
(01:30:47):
over the past couple of years. So to me, Vance
Joseph is one of those guys, like a Cam Cameron
was with the Miami Dolphins, where it's gonna be one
and done, and because it looks so bad and because
it looks so unprepared at times, I don't see him
getting another opportunity. He's still gonna be out of coaching
staff somewhere. You know, He's not like he's not going
(01:31:07):
to be able to find work, but as a head coach,
I think his days are numbered. And look, John Elway
does deserve some of the blame, but I just feel
like Vance Joseph, this is it. Dirk Cutter is another guy.
I don't think he's going to get another job after this.
I really don't um. I think this is part of
the problem when you appear on Hard Knocks. I remember
saying it afterwards a year ago. Man, I just had
(01:31:30):
a weird feeling about that team. They just didn't seem right.
It didn't look right. I was surprised that he came
back for a third year because if you remember, he
was the guy they chose to take over and groom
a young quarterback in Jamis Winston because they felt like
that was the best thing for his development as opposed
to having Lovey Smith, a defensive minded head coach there,
(01:31:50):
so they gave it to Dirk Cutter. And just the
way that everything has fallen apart there in Tampa Bay,
it doesn't look good on Dirk Cutter's part, and not
saying it's all his fault. Amos Winston grabbing an uber
driver's crotch is not Dirk Cutter's fault. But you know,
you take over play calling duties, and when you do,
(01:32:11):
Ryan Fitzpatrick goes five hundred yards in total offense and
you I think, you score what three points something like that, like,
and then you immediately give play calling duties back, and
then there's a quarterback controversy and then you're not sure
which one you want to start, and players would rather
have Ryan fitzpat like optically, the way the season went,
(01:32:31):
I don't feel like Dirt Cutters a guy who, moving
forward is going to get another gig um. Jay Gruden
is apparently being rumored as being one of the guys
in the hot seat. I think Jay Gruden has done
sneakily one of the better coaching jobs in the NFL.
Guys on his fourth quarterback, He's on his fourth quarterback
and he's got an opportunity to go five hundred on
the year. That's impressive. I think Washington's insane to fire
(01:32:55):
Jay Gruden. Insane. It's not the most stable organization to
begin with. That was there before j Gruden got there.
I think that's gonna be there after Jay Gruden. Another
one that I don't understand why it's even being talked
about him being fired is Ron Rivera. I think Ron
Rivera is a good football coach. I think cobeata work
for four minutes and they're they're pointing to, well, they've
(01:33:18):
missed you know, they've missed the playoffs two of the
last three years. That's what has shaping up to be. Look,
he's trying to figure out what the hell is going
on with this quarterback. They've dealt with injuries. Um, there's
been a lot of a lot of that stuff going on.
But you can't argue the fact that they play hard
for the guy. Um, he's he's had success there. I
(01:33:39):
don't think Ron Rivera is going to be a guy
who gets fired. Mike Tomlin is the most interesting one.
Depending on how Sunday works out, what happens with Tomlin
and the Steelers. I don't know how many people realize
this because we all just assue that Mike Tomlin has
done in Pittsburgh. Mike, you know, Pittsburgh has had three
coaches since nineteen sixty nine. Mike Tomlin's never had a
(01:33:59):
losing sea in his head coach in Pittsburgh. That's that's
another guy we just assume. Man, this is just what
a dysfunctional mess this organization is. Well, they do have
a Super Bowl, he went to another one, and he's
never had a losing season. So that's another guy. Even
though he's he might get a little bit of bad
news this weekend and maybe they part ways with Mike Tomlin.
I think Mike Tomlin is gonna be fine, and I
(01:34:21):
think he's going to get another crack of this. So
there's It's just there's two different ways you can go.
Either you exit and there's hope that you can rebound
and get another crack at it, or your exit and
the way that it looked on the way out was
so bad that I don't think organizations are fan bases
are gonna want to welcome you into theirs, And so
I feel like it's going in one or two directions
(01:34:42):
for these coaches that are on the hot seat. Again
not saying all those guys are gonna be fired, but
I think we sort of have an idea the four,
the five, the six maybe that are potentially on their
way out, and then it just matters how you exit
as to how you're viewed upon by NFL front offices
around the league Afterwards. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio eight

one of the better stories in the NFL all year
long has something to do with a major topic in sports,
and it has to do with college football. Find out
(01:35:27):
what it is next here on Fox Sports Radio. Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio, coming to you live here from the
Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. So we will tell you
about UM. It's a major discussion in the sports world.
It's been happening over the past several days. We'll get
to that here momentarily because it does apply to one
(01:35:49):
of the great stories in the NFL here on Fox
Sports Radio. So we'll get to that here momentarily. Also
coming up in less than ten minutes from now here
on fs ARE, we will have the final edition of
match Game after Dark, where we will shine a spotlight
on some of the biggest zeros that are walking the
face of the earth. So we'll have a lot of
(01:36:11):
fun with that. Uh. Now, if you listen to the
show at all last week, you know that we did
uh handed out some Christmas gifts. And I would like
to go on for the record. Uh so I got
Iowa Sam this like um this little like uh, I
guess it's like a beer set or something like that.
(01:36:31):
It's like one of these like like beer sets and
uh and it was for for Iowa Sam. And it
was like craft beer or something like that to where
you could like it was like a taster set. Um. Now,
those things are kind of for a social gathering, you know,
you get around and you taste them a little bit. Uh.
He had no patience whatsoever. He told me during one
(01:36:51):
of the breaks last week that day he was going
to have a couple when he got home. Now, there's
what's interesting about that is that he gets home at
seven am. Okay, that's first and foremost. Okay, eight am, Sorry,
I mean to show you an hour. What also is
interesting about that is that it completely ruins the purpose
of the gift. All Right, it's supposed to be a
beer taster set. You're supposed to enjoy it. So you
(01:37:14):
sent out pictures on social media at Iowa Sam, Did
you in fact enjoy the beer tasting set? Absolutely? Of
course it did. Now, how long did it last? Unlessed like,
uh boy, well I didn't you So I didn't. It
was Sunday because I started making all this like holiday food.
(01:37:36):
So I got it on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Uh it lasted two days, okay, two days. It lasted.
Now strong beer, Yeah, absolutely, there are eight and ten
and you were buzzing. Oh yeah, I mean did you
did you? Now? Now, did you keep a glassware? The
(01:37:57):
glasswars intact? Those all set up and everything. Yeah. I
definitely savored it. So it's like, I think it's um
It's like St. Barnabas or something. It was like a
Christmas Yeah, and so it had um had three different varieties,
and I while I was cooking, I was cooking for
eight hours, and I ingested quite a few of those
beers over the course of that period. Did you share
(01:38:18):
anything with your roommate. Or I gave Gavin Kinsel a
single St. Barnabas interesting and so he had one, but um,
and then I had I had four that night. So
you were time traveling. That's like eight beers because if
you divide that alcohol by volume by two. And what
were you what were you cooking? I was cooking my
world famous chicken salad. Okay, So that means like by
(01:38:41):
the time, by the time the fourth beer came around,
you were stirring the pan with one of your shoes. Yeah, yeah,
there was nothing in it. Yeah, that's yeah, there's yeah,
you forgot where I was hallucinating and I thought there
was something in the pan. Here at the neighbor's house,
you're you're playing a twister with the dog exactly. Yeah,
I've been there. It's really tasty like and I enjoyed it,
and it gifts a gift you can't control how someone
(01:39:03):
uses it. I liked it. I just I wondered how
long you waited before you dove into it. But it
looked ice cold, and it looked h and I'm sure
the pictures are still there at Iowa Sam ninety nine
there and you know how I feel about my ice
cold mugs. I like to get him nice. My brother
used to call it the jellyfish effect. You need the
jellyfish as far as beer mugs go. You need the
(01:39:25):
beer mug to be so cold that when you pour
beer in there, you wait a minute and a little
piece of ice floats to the top and it looks
like a jellyfish. Yeah, that's a great philosophy. That's that's
how he did. So he always has the ice cold mugs.
Whatever you go in there, I love it all right there,
it is so quick. Check in to Iowa Sam. It
was a great gift and his drinking happen all right. Um. So,
(01:39:49):
so we are going to play a match game after
dark coming up here momentarily here on Fox Sports Radio.
So it's funny because Randy Shannon that u C after
sensive coordinator. Um, he made some comments that I just
thought were dumb. Randy Shannon talked about how you know
players and looking around UH college football. He kind of
(01:40:11):
alluded to the fact that if a player and he
understands why they would skip bowl games. But he kind
of alluded to the fact that if a player skips
bowl games, then they're probably more likely to tank in
the NFL. You know, it's like, if you've got an
example of a guy who skips a bowl game, what's
he going to do in the NFL when the season
is no longer on the line, You're six and nine,
nothing to play for and you got one game left.
(01:40:33):
And to me to make that rationale and to make
that conclusion based on a guy making a business decision,
it just doesn't make any sense at all. And and
one of the examples of that, and you've seen it
in the NFL is Jalen Smith of the Dallas Cowboys,
who two and I know Andrew luck is going to
get the award, and I get it because he's a
(01:40:55):
quarterback and he came back from injury. But if I
had to vote, and I were voting Comeback Player of
the Year in the NFL, I'm going Jalen Smith because
I don't know that people remember how devastating the injury
was that he suffered in a meaningless bowl game, that
he suffered in the Fiesta Bowl, in which multiple ligaments
(01:41:16):
were destroyed. He had nerve damage at one point, he
couldn't walk, like he had major issues. The fact that
he was still drafted as high as he was early
in the second round by Dallas. I remember going on
the air right after the right after he was drafted,
because it was Day two, so it was on either
I think it was a Friday after it happened. So
(01:41:36):
I remember going on on the air and saying, Man,
I love Jalen Smith. I think it's a great story
and he seems like such a great kid at a
Notre Dame. But to me, to take that guy that
early in the draft doesn't make any sense. He could
be damaged good. You have no idea what if he's
even gonna recover fully. So you're Dallas had just come
off a bad season. Why would you spend that high
(01:41:59):
of a pit when there's other quality players out there
on Jalen Smith. And then you've seen how he's played
this year. To come all the way back from that
knee injury, to see how well he's played is incredible
and and it's why I think, man, he's the comeback
story of the year in the NFL. So when Randy
Shannon makes comments that, well, if you skip bowl games,
(01:42:21):
you're more likely to tank in the NFL, and no, no,
you skip bowl games, that don't mean anything because of
guys like Jalen Smith who did play in these Bowl games.
Jake Butts another example. Jake butt was a really really
good tight end from Michigan. A lot of people thought
he was gonna be really good at the at the
pro level. He had a lot of a lot of
the characteristics of some of these great tight ends and
(01:42:42):
he had a lot of success. Tore up his knee
in a Bowl game that didn't matter, and he's still
battling injuries in the NFL to try and get back
to to what he was supposed to be. Had he
just sat out and played it smart, then we wouldn't
have these issues. And I know the argument for well,
you know, you can get injured at any time. I
(01:43:03):
get it. But at least if you know that, it's
not gonna benefit you at all moving forward, and you've
got all your good tape for everybody to look at,
and it's about what's going to happen at the next
level and how you can make the most money and
set yourself up for success. Don't play so Randy Shannon saying, oh,
(01:43:24):
you know what, this is just a prelude to what
that guy is gonna be at the pro level. It
doesn't make any sense. I think you will probably watch
try and walk back the comments. It's it's it's I
think a dumb way to look at it. When you're
telling players who have one opportunity to take care of
their family for the rest of their lives, they've got
(01:43:46):
one opportunity. You don't spoil that opportunity on on the
Dollar Tree Bowl so that you can go, um, make
some networks and make your program a bunch of money
that you're not gonna see any of and you put
your career in jeopardy for it. It just it doesn't
make any sense to me. I'm all for these guys
not playing in these games if they don't want to.

you know, we we welcome in the crew here and
we like to uh stir up some stuff. We like
to dig up some stories, and we like to shine
a spotlight on some of the biggest losers walking the
face of the earth. It's called match game after Dark
(01:47:33):
and uh and how it works is simple in match
game form. All right, I have got three actual stories here.
These are true stories. I'm not making them up. I
am going to read a portion of the story, but
I'm gonna leave a section of it blank. These gentlemen
have to fill in the blank. If they get it correct,
they get the point. If they don't get it correct,
they don't get any points. And if nobody gets any
(01:47:55):
points the entire game, have no fear because at least
you're not any of these losers that we're discussing here
during the second al Right, so that'll be how this
game works. You can play the at home version at
the Jonas Knox. So we welcome in the crew here
that will be participating. Uh. He is Iowa Sam, he
is Kevin Figures, and he is Ryan bur Singer. Burst.
(01:48:17):
Is this your first time playing match game after Dark?
Actually I played it once a long time ago when
I was randomly into the shift a couple of years ago.
But this is my first time where I know what
I'm doing. Well, I'd like to let you know that
you were not randomly put into this shift. Uh we uh,
we chose you. We decide we've got the first choice
of all the producers here at Fox Sports Radio. Um so,
(01:48:39):
I mean we could have been Ryan Music or Greg
Tooey or some of these other producers here at FS
are Robert Guerra, but we decided no, know, we won't,
Burst Singer, that's the guy we want you are our
first choice. So I don't know if that that makes
you blust or anything, but that's that's a fact um.
All right. So here's how it works, guys. I've got
some stories here. I'm gonna started off with story number one.
(01:49:01):
Everybody ready to go. Kevin Figures, by the way, is
the goat at this game. Nobody has won more than keV.
Looking a gull strong here, all right? So here we go, guys.
First story. A Pennsylvania man was arrested for arson Monday
morning after he burned a blank. A Pennsylvania man was
(01:49:23):
arrested for arson Monday morning after he burned a blank Iowa, Sam,
go ahead and fill in that blank please. I'll say
that he burned an electrical box, like one of those
electrical boxes out on the street, you know, does important
stuff keeps the lights on? So you think that he
(01:49:46):
burned one of those? Yeah, they don't. You think that
might cause a problem. Well, this guy made the news, right,
he was causing problems. But I feel like we would
have heard about that not just on match game after dark,
you know what I mean, Like it would have blown
like the entire neighbor up local news. You know, people
do crazy stuff in this country all the time. So
you're saying that Iowa is more important than Pennsylvania, is
(01:50:06):
what you're saying? What? No, No, because you're saying local
news like it's kind of insignificant. So local news but
just you don't always hear about it. But yeah, I
mean they could be correct. Listen, I have no idea.
I don't know. I was trying to think of something
wonky wacky whatever to say about what he burned it.
I could only think of an electrical box. Listen, there's
another all that. Look, you've been you've won this game before,
So who am I to judge? Ryan Bursinger? Go ahead
(01:50:28):
and fill in that blank. Please? Uh, Monday was Christmas Eve,
so maybe he was trying to prepare a Christmas dinner.
So I'll say he burned a turkey and his family
was so offended that they called the police and got
him arrested for ours. And now I could that's thinking
very timely. You understood the day. You listen closely and
you use logic into why you think that he would
(01:50:49):
burn the Christmas dinner and how that would turn out. See,
that is thinking, that is how this game works. That
I actually like that guess I would probably go with
that as well too. But we'll find out if anybody
got this correct here after we hear from Kevin figures
kept go ahead and filling the blank please, I'll say
he burned the neighbor's doghouse. Yeah, why would he do that?
(01:51:13):
The dog made a bit him on the ask for
all I know? Who? Yeah, I didn't know. Uh yeah,
let's in fact, let's go live to that gentleman who
joins us here now after burning the neighbors a doghouse? Sir,
what are your thoughts? All right? That's right, all right?
So that was a dog inside, keV. The dog was
not inside. I think it would have got a charge
for murder at that point. Yeah, I think so too.
(01:51:34):
That this segment would have taken a dark turn if
that was the case. All right, So let's find out
if any we got the point here on magic him
after dark. A Pennsylvania man was arrested for arson Monday
morning after he burned a bag of dog crap. All listen,
you were in the neighborhood, keV Um. Yeah, Apparently at
(01:51:55):
about three am, this guy decided to lie a bag
of dog crap on fire while it was on the
on a porch. So a female tenant told police that
she woke up when other residents spot of the fire
and began yelling to call nine one one and get
out of the house. The fire was quickly extinguished when
(01:52:16):
they when they caught up with a gentleman. Uh, he
said that he burnt the dog crap after they were
having a falling out that night. Uh. The lady told
on this guy said he could not stay there anymore.
His way of getting even was lighting a bag of
dog crap and putting it on the doorstep. Now, to me,
that's the oldest trick in the book. People still does, right, Like, Look,
(01:52:39):
who hasn't lit a bag of dog crap on somebody's
porch Because the whole idea is they're gonna want to
put it out immediately, and so when they go to
put it out, they step in dog crap. I mean,
that's that's the whole gag. I mean, this isn't I
wouldn't call this Arson. I would call this a gag
gone wrong. Yeah, is it Arson? When you burn something
(01:53:00):
that's just going to be thrown into Yeah, Like this
the oldest trick in the book, I think, Arson, You're like, okay,
they burned your porch personal item or something. Yeah, this
is the whoopee cushion of pyrotechnics. It's a gag. It's
a joke. It's not real. It's like a ring buzzer,
like a fake dog crap. Remember I was saying, what
you always you're a big fan of fake dog crap, Like, absolutely,
(01:53:21):
you leave that around the house. These are gags, These
are shenanigans. I don't think this guy should get an
arson charge a little too tight some dog crap man
that And by the way, um, did anybody try and
put it out with their foot? Because even if if somebody,
I'm telling you right now, if somebody put a bag
of dog crap on my front porch and lit it
on fire, even knowing that there's crap inside, I'd still
(01:53:42):
put it out with my foot, just to pay respect
to the joke. Do it like when you have to
do it, because it's like, oh man, this is so funny.
I've always wanted this, So you just go ahead and
you do it anyways, right, So that's that's how it works,
all right, So I no pointing it out. So we
move on to story number two here on match game
after ark uh. Story number two. Two homeless men reportedly
(01:54:06):
broke into a home in Santa Monica and blank. Two
homeless men reportedly broke into a home in Santa Monica, California,
and blank, Ryan Burr singer, go ahead and filling that blankly?
Um uh? They they brushed to their teeth with the
(01:54:27):
with the toothbrushes of the the owners of the home.
Do you think they need to break into a home
to brush their teeth running water? What do you mean?
It's Santa Monica, you live on the beach. Go down
to the beach. I mean, come on, man, all right,
(01:54:49):
so listen, I mean that could be correct. Alright, Yeah,
let's say, yeah, no, kid, what a dumb menace beaches?
That guy dresses up like a tin man. Stay away, guys,
a weirdo, all right, so brush your teeth? Right? Interesting,
that could be correct? What the hell do I know?
Let's move on to Kevin figures, Kevin going and filling
(01:55:10):
the blank. Please, I'm gonna say they made themselves a meal, okay?
Um interesting. I would assume stealing something like cash would
make sense, but okay, may be hungry a little bit
yourself a sandwich or something. All right, that's fine. I
always say I'm going and filling the blank. Please we'll
stay with the theme of doo doo, and I'll say
that they defecated in the uh in that abode. What
(01:55:37):
do you mean? They just they just went dropping their
droppings all over, So they broke into a house to
take a crap. Yeah, people do that because they're they're jealous.
Why wouldn't they what do you mean, jealous and upset?
Why wouldn't they just do it at a public place?
They're homeless, I don't know, because they might have a
screw looser too. When they decide, you know, let's take
(01:55:58):
let's let's take my chances. Let's take our chances, and
hope they got a bidet. I don't think they even
use the toilet. I think they just decided to make
this point. I just started uh crapping the blender. Yeah alright, okay,
yeah you are. That's that's the point, all right, So
let's find out if anybody got the point here. On
(01:56:18):
Matt's Game after Dark, two homeless men reportedly broke into
a home in Santa Monica, California and cook dinner. Yeah
well done, sir, h Yeah, apparently so this guy comes back.
He returns back from Christmas shopping last Friday, and he
just sees the guy hanging out and um, he just
(01:56:42):
played along. He asked him if they had enough food,
then pretended to take his French bulldog for a walk,
and then called nine on one. And so this nineteen
year old, this twenty nine year old were arrested. Um,
and that's it. That just that will take you away.
No words to what they what they actually cooked. But
but nonetheless a point goes to Kevin Figures. All right,
(01:57:04):
so here we go, final story match game after dark
here on Fox Sports Radio. This one worth two points,
two points which means Sam and Ryan can win if
they get this correct. Right. Here we go. A man
nicknamed alien due to blank one surgery so he can
fall in love. A man nicknamed alien due to blank
(01:57:32):
one surgery so he can fall in love. This is
gonna be trouble. Kevin Figures, go ahead and film that
blank please. Um oh he bleeds green. Okay, far enough,
Iowa say, I'm go ahead and film that blank please.
If you ever see those caricatures or the composite sketches
(01:57:54):
of aliens, usually they don't have a gender. They don't
have any genitalia. So I'll say that this guy doesn't
have any genitals, but did he's like a set is
what they call a sexual? Uh well, a sexual is
like you don't really want to engage in any kind
of romance with anybody. I'll say, Um, I don't know.
He just doesn't have anything nothing, an alien doll, there's
(01:58:15):
nothing going on to no sex organs. Alright, so you
think we've got an actual living Barbie dolls. Think he
needs doctors to give him all right, something something you
can fall in love. Ryan Burr singer, go ahead and
fill in the blank place. I think his eyes are
entirely black, like they look like they're just pupils. It's
just frightening. You know. Some people might even call that
(01:58:37):
a corpse, but't not even say let's find out if
if anybody's got the point here. On Match Game After Dark,
a man nicknamed alien due to and enlarged head and
wants surgery so he can fall in love. Yes, um,
by the way, there is some pictures of this guy.
What a dome he's got? Man, Wow, it is that's
(01:59:06):
it is? And uh yeah, he wants to fall in love.
So unfortunately, no points handed out on that final one
that could he can grow into his head like Jason
Kid's son. He eventually grew into his head. Right, Nah,
it's not happening. Does he wear eight point five one
of the giant hats outside of Angel Stadium and he
wears one of those it's in Baggy already wears his hat.
(01:59:29):
Is actually the bullpen cart that they drive out at
Padre games. Yeah, so unfortunately no points handed out here
on the third story, but congratulations, Kevin figures the goat
is a winner again here on Fox Sports Radio, all right,
Jonas knocks here on fs ARE inside access to college
football bowl games that's next year. On Fox Sports Radio,
(01:59:52):
Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio Company Alive from the Geico
Fox Sports Radio Studios coming up less than ten minutes
from now here on fs ARE. Uh, it is a
jammed packed Saturday in the world of sports, and not
only college football, all right, not only college football. Something
very fascinating is going on. We'll have that for you
here less than ten minutes from now here on fs
(02:00:13):
ARE Quickly. Kevin figures, do you have another bowl game?
A swag bag? A detail you can hand along here
on Fox Sports trad How about a couple of the
bulls are played on Friday, West Virginia, Syracuse at the
Camping World four best Buy gift card. I'll take that
o Geo backpack with luggage tag and a Falso watch
that's not that bad the Alamo Bull Washington State, Iowa
(02:00:34):
State fourging Amazon card also all falso watch in a
mini helmet. See now we're getting to something like like
that stuff. You could actually use some of this other crap,
like like the Dollar General Bowl. You get a thing
of windex and some balloon animals, Like who wants that?
All right? We got more out of the world of
sports next year on fs ARE. So it's the day
(02:00:59):
we've all all been waiting for. The entire season comes
down to the biggest two games that lead to the
biggest game of them all in the world of college football.
And we'll touch all on that coming up here in
just a couple of minutes. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.
You can check out the show on the I Heart
Radio app. You can find us on Sirius x M
(02:01:21):
channel eighty three, and on every one of our Fox
Sports Radio affiliates wherever you are taking part in the program.
We always appreciate a few minutes of your time. Is
we come to you live from the Geico Fox Sports
radio studios, where it's easy to say fifteen percent or
more on car insurance with Geico. Go to Geico dot
com or call eight hundred nine four seven Auto. The
(02:01:44):
only hard part figuring out which way is easier. Um.
So I was talking about this earlier that there's a
a tendency sometimes when you make a mistake, or when
you've done something that you know maybe isn't right, or
you've done something or you said the wrong things, whatever
the case may be, there's sometimes we all have a
(02:02:04):
tendency to over overcorrect ourselves. Um, you say something stupid
to your better half, you piss her off. Then you
spend the next week really going over the top, being
overly nice, doing overly nice things because you're overcorrecting yourselves.
And at a certain point it just becomes too much.
Either they forgive you or they don't, but the the
constant sending of flowers, constant compliments, the apologies at a
(02:02:29):
certain point, Look, you said it, you made a mistake.
Don't don't overcorrect yourself because then it looks bad. We
do it when we drive, Uh, you make a mistake,
you swerve into one lane just kind of not paying attention,
or maybe you check your phone, or you gotta grab
a drink a water or something like that, or you're
changing the state the station on your dial, and you
(02:02:49):
you you emerge into one lane and then you realize,
oh my god, him in another lane, and then you
have to overcorrect and you go back into the other one.
That's when bad things happen. So when you overcorrect yourself,
bad things can happen, and sometimes it doesn't work out
your way. And I just get this feeling as we're
on the doorstep of the college football playoff, I get
(02:03:09):
this feeling that college football is going to overcorrect itself. Um,
we've all wanted this playoff format. We didn't like the BCS.
We were tired of the nerds telling us what the
numbers say. We wanted to play it out on the field.
We wanted to have these guys play it out on
the field. And that's fine, and that that's great. But
(02:03:31):
the problem is we've now entered into a place to
where because we have put so much focus on the
college football Playoff, other things have taken a step back.
I'm telling you, the Heisman Trophy and the buzz around
the Heisman Trophy is not what it used to be
because people only care about the college football playoffs. And
(02:03:51):
it's good for that. It's good for college football, and
it's good for building the buzz and building Hey, the
new rankings are coming out. It's great eight, but it
kind of takes away from the Heisman Trophy. Not that
the Heisman Trophy isn't an historic award and very prestigious
and all of that, but the buzz around it just
isn't what it what it used to be. I think
(02:04:12):
it's also taken away the luster on some of these
other games, some of these games, these bowl games. You've
told us that these games are the most important and
the other ones aren't. And so because of that, I
think that it's it's had a negative effect outside of
just the college football playoffs. So here we are, and
we're on the doorstep of the games. Four pm Easter time.
(02:04:34):
You've got Notre Dame in Clemson, eight pm Eastern times,
You've got Oklahoma Alabama. Look at the final four we got, like,
you can't really do a lot better than this. Maybe
if you had Ohio State in or something like that.
Maybe if you had Michigan and Jim Harbien, but it's
hard to argue that you can do better than these
four teams on this Alabama historically great program in the
(02:04:59):
middle of a di dynasty. So there's a lot going
on there. Oklahoma, really fun offense. Kyler Murray, two sport athlete,
just won the highestman trophy, a guy who just won
the most celebrated award in this sport, even though it's
kind of feels a little diminished just because of the
playoff rankings and all that stuff in that conversation throughout
(02:05:21):
the course of the year. So you get an exciting
offense in an offensively driven sport. Now more and more,
you get Clemson, who's a team who's been there constantly,
so it's recognizable, you know who they are, they've been there.
Dabo swine has got a great personality, They're a fun
team to watch, and they're really good. And then you
get Notre Dame. One of the great fan bases in
(02:05:42):
all of sports. All right, Notre Dame. If you were
to say, all right, top ten fan bases or top
fifteen fan bases in all of sports, I would argue
Notre Dames amongst those. As far as biggest brands in sports,
I would argue Notre Dame, you could legitimately make an
argument is one of those top fifteen brands in all
(02:06:03):
of sports. So that final four should be a big
time draw for anybody out there on getting set for
the college football playoffs. And I'm telling you, I've been
on the air all week on Fox Sports Radio. I've
been I've been working every single day here at FSR.
We're around this stuff constantly seven and I'm telling you,
(02:06:27):
there's not the buzz going into the college football playoff
that I thought there would be. With these many prime
time players all involved. I assumed this would be a
bigger deal, and I just am not feeling it. Man,
it's not there. There's something missing. And I wonder how
many people out there. And it could look it could
(02:06:49):
be the schedule, it could be the holidays all that stuff.
But I wonder how many people out there We're walking
around or driving around or doing whatever they were doing
on Friday and they realized, oh damn, the college football
playoffs tomorrow. Oh my god, I didn't realize it. Like
its just something feels like it's missing and what I
think is going to happen, and this is where the
(02:07:09):
over correction comes in, is I think college football senses
that there's something missing, senses that there's a lack of buzz,
and they're hearing the talk about an eight team playoff,
and I think they're gonna do it sooner rather than later.
They're gonna extend the college football playoffs, and I think
that's where the over correction comes in, and that's where
the mistake is going to be made, because they're gonna
(02:07:31):
feel that there's a lack of a punch this year.
There's just something that's not right there, and they're gonna think,
how can we solve all of this? Oh, I know,
we need we need more teams. No, that's not the answer.
You know, maybe the answer is a six team playoff.
First two teams gonna buy then the rest of the
four three against six, four against five, and you played
out that way. But adding more teams isn't the answer.
(02:07:53):
Maybe it's a scheduling change. Maybe no matter what the
college football playoff and the semifinals are on New Year's Day.
I've thought about that that that feels a little strange,
like here we are, these are big games, and you
know they're taking place kind of mixed in with uh,
you know, South Carolina and Virginia and Florida and Michigan
(02:08:16):
like it just it doesn't feel the same. It doesn't
feel right. But I'm waiting for the overcorrection by college football.
I think it's gonna happen. I think you're gonna want
to add more teams when the reality is all that's
going to do is water down the sport even more.
At this point of the season, I don't think that's
a solution. I think they've got to figure out, whether
it's scheduling or whatnot. The promotion leading into it this
(02:08:38):
year has just been lacking a little bit. It's not
what we thought it was heading into the season, and
I don't feel the same buzz surrounding it. Uh. The
other aspect, and the other conversation that's come up is
a Randy Shannon, the UCF defensive coordinator, who made some
comments earlier on in the day in talking about out
(02:09:00):
how players skipping Bowl games. If that's the case, maybe
those players are more likely to also want to tank
in the NFL, saying that yeah, although I get it, um,
I just think that maybe by taking a player like that,
the teams in the NFL should be concerned because if
he's shown you that that he's willing to do to
(02:09:20):
sit out a bowl game to think about his own future,
then you wouldn't be surprised if he were willing to
sit out the final game of a regular season in
the NFL if his team were already out of the playoffs.
I totally disagree. I think these guys are making a
business decision. It's not an apples to apples comparison, and
I think Grandy Shannon made a mistake in going that direction.
(02:09:40):
And if I'm a recruit or if I'm recruiting against UCF,
I'm gonna use those comments against him when it comes
to recruiting, because that's a guy who doesn't care about
your future. He only cares about the future of the
program and the current status of the program. Brian Baldinger
was on with myself and Rob Parker Balding. Baldy is
a an NFL network analyst, played college football, played in
(02:10:04):
the NFL for a long time, and I asked Brian
Baldinger Friday on Fox Sports Radio his thoughts on the
Randy Shannon comments. Here's a ball. He had to say.
I understand what Randy said, but I don't believe it.
I don't agree with him. I mean, look, Christian McCaffrey
sat out his bowling as an affected Christian McCaffrey. And
what he's done so far on Carolan, he's tearing it up.
(02:10:25):
He's something. He's great, right. No, look, I mean this
is just a train that you're just gonna see. Um,
It's just I mean, these guys are thinking about the
next step. I was thinking about the next level. I mean,
if you look at Jayalus Smith to what he happened
to him in the Siesta Ball three years ago, I mean,
just watch him return that fumblefore touchdown this weekend for
the Cowboys. I mean I had tears in my eyes.
(02:10:45):
I remember that he couldn't walk, you know, you know,
if it was a it was a dirty hit the
Siesta Ball, all that stuff happened. But I mean it's
a miracle that he's back playing right now. I don't
blame any of these kids that said, you know what,
I've been with my time at Michigan. Enjoyed my time,
but I'm thinking about the next step right now, and
(02:11:05):
I just think it's gonna be a trend that you
can't fight and you can't stop right now. And he's
a hud spot on. That was Brian Balding or Friday
on Fox Sports Radio with myself and Rob Parker, and
he's he's spot on man. Jalen Smiths a perfect example. Um,
you know, Christian McCaffrey is a guy who sat out
his his bowl game, his senior season, or his final
season at Stanford because he wanted to pursue the NFL
(02:11:28):
and play. It's smart and he did so. When when
when we criticize some of these players, or if you're
one of the people that's criticizing these players, you're not
thinking about it pragmatically. You're not being honest and realistic
about the situation. There are millions upon millions of dollars
on the line. Jalen Smith has said all the right things.
He said, I wouldn't do it. I would do the
same thing over again. I would play with my team.
(02:11:50):
That's fine, Okay, to each his own. And if he decides,
if he could do it all over again, that he
would still play in the bowl game, knowing the injury
and knowing it cost him potentially in his career. That's fine.
But I'm just not going to to bury a guy
who chooses not to play, all right, Will Greer not
wanting to play for West Virginia, I'm not gonna bust
(02:12:12):
the guy's balls. I'm not like. This is one of
the things that is a side effect. When you tell
us that something is worth more than everything else, don't
be surprised if we don't take everything else as serious
as we used to, or as serious as you want
us to. So when you tell us at certain games
matter more than others, don't be surprised when we react
and act like these other games also aren't as important
(02:12:34):
as those others. And that's what's happened with the college
football Playoff. It's been great for the sport. I love
the playoff. I hope it doesn't extend, but I do
acknowledge that it probably will. There's too much money involved,
and I think college football is gets the feeling that
there's something lacking this year. And then on top of that,
if you're playing in one of these other games and
(02:12:55):
you've got an NFL career to look for, man, don't
make the mistake, all right, think about your family. It
doesn't make you a selfish person. It just makes you
realistic about what the business of football is like. And
I'll never kill a guy for one to do it.

to that here, uh less sent ten minutes from now
(02:14:00):
here on Fox Sports Radio. The latest outrage in the NBA,
you know the league where uh we we focus on
who likes what on Instagram. That's how we cover the
NBA nowadays. Uh And you wonder why the ratings have
been a disaster the first part of the season. Um,
so the NBA. The latest is that Lebron James showed
(02:14:24):
up to the Lakers Clippers game not playing. Alright, he
was not playing, and he showed up walking to the
arena with a glass would appear to be a glass
of wine in his hand. So of course, Uh, people
either went in one of two directions. Um, if you're ESPN,
you're afraid to criticize Lebron James. But if that were
(02:14:48):
Johnny Manziel, Uh, he'd be ripped for it. Uh. Then
there's other people that said, oh, you know, that's a
bad optics, bad looks Lebron James. You can't you can't
show up to a game as specially Uh when there's
television there and and you've got a glass of wine
in your hand. Look, he's not playing. We've all walked
(02:15:08):
around with with a glass of alcohol, whether permitted or
not permitted, at some point or another in public. We've
all done it, all right, everybody's done it. If you've
been to Vegas, you've done it. Uh. If you've gone
trick or treating with your kids, you've had a cocktail
while they're walking around every everybody's done it. Lebron James
showed up to work, he's not working, and he was
(02:15:30):
drinking a glass of wine. Presumably all right, now, I
hope it's it's a cranberry juice so that all of
you guys feel like idiots. But it's not a big deal.
It's just this is what we do when we cover
the NBA. Everybody's got to find some dramatic angle to
every story. The games sometimes aren't as interesting, so we've
(02:15:50):
got to find a reason to get outraged in the
n B A And so Lebron James showing up with
a glass of wine, now it's going to go back
to you, Well, he was made a insensitive marks that
were anti semitic on his Instagram and he compared to
owners to slave Mett like it's a glass of wine.
Who cares he's not playing. But you will see the
(02:16:12):
outrage that will come up throughout the course of Saturday
and uh in through the weekend, depending on how wild
the football scene is, somebody will be upset with Lebron
dre and Lebron James bringing a glass of wine into
the arena in a game that he's not playing in
so that's how that's gonna go. The other uh, the
other story that's kind of getting a little bit of
(02:16:33):
buzz because you can't stand this guy, Kevin Durant. He's uh. Look,
it's been kind of an up and down year for
Kevin Durant. He's got had back and forth with teammates. Uh.
He's called out fans, uh, he's ripped members of the media.
He's been very very sort of a sort of uh,
(02:16:54):
I don't know, like combative if you want to call it.
It's a it's a different Kevin Durant. It's it's not
a guy that you were used to seeing years and
years ago when he was emotional and crying and telling
his mom you're the real m v P. This is
a different Kevin Durant. It's a guy who does not care,
apparently whether or not he offends you. And so Kevin
Durant was appearing on the Posted Up podcast with Chris Haynes,
(02:17:15):
and he talked about why he's so disliked. I've come
to the conclusion that people hate the fact that I
played for the Warriors, and people hate the fact that
I'm so damn good at basketball. They don't like that combination,
and so that brings out jealousy, envy, even if it's
through comments, or even if if it's through you know,
slick comments through the media or people testing my manhood
(02:17:38):
on TV. They just cannot stand with somebody like me
is so successful and doing it away that they didn't
want me to do it. So it's not my fault
when I say something you get in your feelings is
that that you got some underlying against me already. So
no matter what I say or how I approach anything,
it's gonna be a problem if it all if I
don't agree with you, because you just don't like, you know,
(02:18:00):
what I'm saying, And that's just the facts. A lot
of people want to say facts about me, but that's
the facts, Like you don't like that I played for
the Warriors, and you don't like that I'm so good
at basketball, and you put those two together and you
get nothing but magic and it's just like it's just
basketball nirvana and people don't like that. So they're just
jealous of what I got? Are you? And I don't
(02:18:21):
mind calling you out on you, oh Man. For Kevin
Durant Hayters, that must have been really tough to listen to.
I mean, there's nothing worse than a guy you can't
stand who does exactly what you can't stand him for,
and it's unapologetic for it. And that's Kevin Durant. That
was a giant, double barreled middle finger to people that
(02:18:43):
have been criticizing Kevin Durant ever since he decided to
go to the Golden State Warriors. Here's what I'll say
about this. I've never had an issue with Kevin Durant.
I like Kevin Durant a lot. I had no issue
with him going to the Golden State Warriors. A lot
of people did. I didn't. Look, you can go and
chew and play wherever you want. That's fine, no big
(02:19:04):
deal um. People criticizing that he went to a team
that was already successful, who cares. What does it matter.
He wanted to go play, he wanted to go try
something out, so he decided to go to another place. Yeah,
they were very good before, but Kevin Durant made the decision.
I had no issue with it, and a lot of
the criticism that he gets I think it's pretty unfair.
(02:19:25):
I'll say this though, that was a guy who's trying
real hard to convince you that he doesn't care what
you think about him and that he's totally secure, because
he's not. Right. If you're totally secure, you don't have
burner accounts. If you're totally secure, you're not continuously talking
about it. Okay, I love Kevin Durant. I I support
(02:19:45):
Kevin Durant. When he called out Lebron James media fanboys,
I was all in on it. I said he's a
hundred spot on. That's where a lot of that coverage is.
But when somebody's got to tell you, I'm so good
at basketball, I'm so good at this. This is why
you hate me. You hate this. It's because they're really
trying to convince themselves that it doesn't bother them, when
(02:20:06):
in reality, it does. I've talked about this on the
show before. Kevin Durant is in a place that other
athletes have been in before that you may have been
in before at some point as well too, and other
athletes have spoken about it. Aaron Rodgers is a guy
who spoke about it. Chris Widman, a UFC fighter who
won a title, has spoken about it to where you
(02:20:29):
think what you wanted this whole time was what you
wanted until you got it, and you still felt empty.
Aaron Rodgers talked about coming back on the plane after
winning his Super Bowl and saying, there was a moment
where we were sitting there looking around, going is this it?
I thought there'd be more. Chris Wideman knocked out Anderson
(02:20:49):
Silva won the middleweight championship in the UFC. Anderson civil
one of the greatest fighters, if not the greatest fighter
of all time. Chris Wideman put him to sleep, beat
the unbeatable fighter that nobody could ever touch. Chris Wideman
put him to sleep, and he said there was a
moment back in the locker room when he realized, yeah,
it's just, uh, you know, I didn't feel anything. I
(02:21:12):
thought it would be more and there wasn't. Kevin durant
Is alluded to this. He pursued that title. He had
to have a championship. The media had told him unless
you win a championship, you're not considered the greatest, You're
not in the conversation. So he goes he wins a title,
even acknowledges afterwards that he still didn't get the satisfaction
(02:21:33):
that he thought he was going to get from it.
Still kind of empty. Winning a second title isn't going
to bring him that satisfaction. So think about where he's at.
It's a guy who pursued the one thing that he
thought he wanted. Not only did he get the one
thing that he thought he wanted back to back years,
he outplayed what people pursued perceived to be the guy
(02:21:56):
who's always been ahead of him, Lebron James. Back to
back years, Kevin Durant went to the NBA Finals and
outplayed Lebron James. He was the best player on the
floor both finals appearances. Best player on the floor won
the m v P both times, eight to one. Calves
(02:22:16):
Verse Warriors eight to one. With Kevin Durant as a
member of the Golden State Warriors. He does all of that,
outplays the guy who everybody has told him is better
than him his entire career, and still he's not happy,
not satisfied. Like we've all been through that, every one
of us has been through. You think you want something
really bad and you finally get it, and then you
(02:22:37):
realize it's not bit great. Remember you were a kid,
You beg for this toy. You gotta have this for Christmas,
gotta have that By the time March rolls around that
things collecting dust in the closet, like if you shot
for your kids, you know what I'm talking about. I've
gotta have this, we gotta have this toy, we need this,
We've gotta have this fortnit blah blah blah blah blah.
By the time summer comes around, there onto something else.
(02:22:59):
Like Kevin Durant is in a place where he's trying
to figure it out. But the difference between Kevin Durant
and everybody else is while you're trying, while we try
and figure it out, we kind of keep to ourselves
and we sort of do some of us some soul searching.
He's going on every podcast or is in America, Like
I swear to God, I think Kevin Durant would actually
(02:23:20):
do this show. Like we can't get anybody to do
weekend overnights. We can't nobody's gonna come on and do
an interview unless it's David Anderson who's a friend of
the show, or or if Brady Quinn is somehow on
the West coast and he's not on the East coast
and he can wake up at this time. It's it's
hard for us to get a live interview on this show.
I would. I'm willing to bet right now if there's
a big time athlete that would do it would be
(02:23:41):
Kevin Durant. No, it's not that soon. What do you
mean is that we have four hours? It's fine. He
does every interview, every podcast, usually over a glass of wine,
and he's good with it. I think you would actually
do this show. But it's a guy who I feel
like is still trying to figure out what the hell
he wants. We've all been there at some point or another.
(02:24:04):
Kevin Durant is doing it in the public eye. Jonas

Coming up next, it is some things from around the
world of sports that we have not had a chance
to talk about, and as sometimes a couple of these
(02:24:26):
stories could nearly get us fired. We will have the
scraps next here on fs ARE. But for all the latest,
it's Kevin Figgers, all right, Jonas and Kevin Duran's former
squad at the Oklahoma City Thunder, picking up a victory
over the Suns in Phoenix one eighteen to one oh
two as Russell worked rest book wrecked up forty points,
twelve rebounds and eight assists no Paul George. He set

The Clippers with a one eighteen to one or seven
victory over the Lakers, Lou William scoring thirty six points
against his former squad. Lakers have lost five of their
last seven and are o and two without Lebron James.
Clippers have won four of their last five Nuggets with
(02:25:07):
a victory over the Spurs one oh two to ninety
nine as Jamal Murray at thirty one points, nicolea Yokick
twenty one points, nine boards and nine assists. Pelicans get
forty eight points and seventeen boards from Anthony Davis. They
defeat the Mavericks one fourteen to one. Twelve wins for
the Heat, Pacers and Hornets. Orlando Magic get thirty points,

The only hard part figuring out which way is easier, keV.
Which is Um, what's the thing that you struggle with
(02:26:33):
to say on the air, because I know that you
not not to call it out because I did this
all the time. I know I couldn't do it, Honest
to god, Russell Westbrook was such a problem for me
early on having to say it. The other one I
couldn't do. I remember um doing a live college football
updates back in the day and Red River Riding. I
(02:26:56):
just just put like a mouthful of chewing tobacco in
and and try and say it. I could. I couldn't
do it. Like, is there a name that you struggle
with the most? Well, Russell is definitely it. So, especially
when I tried to say Russell Westbrook racked up. So
that's a lot of rs in there. So it's a
lot of rs and ws and wrought ringing rabbit. Rabbit.
Let's let's go, let's chief. Everybody can can say that, Sam,
(02:27:19):
can you say that Russell west I can't even say
what Russell Westbrook? Yeah, okay? So what was the full sentence? keV?
Russell Westbrook racked up. Russell Westbrook racked up Yeah, that's
you almost all right man, Ryan Burr singer Russell Westbrook
racked up what voice unbelievable? Did you have some some
(02:27:44):
commercial to read on TV? Mr? Voiceover guy? Whatever? All right,
It is time here on Fox Sports Radio for a
little something we do called this, jon How could you
not get to? These stories are the scraps. It's where
we turn it back over to the great and powerful
Kevin Figures to find out what the hell we've missed
(02:28:06):
so far in the show. Kevin, Thank you, Jonas something
you talked about a little bit earlier in the show
Black Monday upon us. In the NFL, a lot of
coaches little antsie as far as their job security, but
one who will not be, according to multiple reports, is
that of Ron Rivera with the Carolina Panthers. He fully
anticipates he will be back in Carolina. Multiple sources say
(02:28:26):
that although he has not received public backing from first
year owner David tepper uh that all signs indicate he
will return, despite the fact they started the season six
and two and if they lose to the Saints on Sunday,
they will become the first team since the league expanded
to a sixteen game schedule to go from six and
two to finishing six and ten. Yeah, it's so weird.
(02:28:47):
Um These Carolina Panther fans were all over me earlier
in the season. I just haven't really heard from them
several weeks. May or may not be a reason why
I selected this story, but I mean it's weird that works,
Like they just kind of, you know, they come out
of the woodwork reading an article that came out two
months ago when we talked about Cam Newton and they
(02:29:07):
were all over the place, and the article from August,
they were all over the place, and then I'm looking
around them last month and a half, they just haven't
been here. I don't know where they went. It's crazy,
isn't it. All the all the insults, all the personal shots,
all the us Just weird that works. But I do
think um Ron River is a good coach, and if
he's one of those guys to where if he were
(02:29:28):
let go, he's done a lot in Carolina. I think
he'd be out of work for ten minutes. Does you
seem like one of those guys that's always on the
hot seat, all right? When he's on the verge of
possibly getting cut. Louis Oh it takes him to the
Super Bowl, ye know? Um, And and look, Cam Newton
has not looked healthy for a long time. Who knows
what sort of off season he's looking at, but I
think Cam Newton was was banged up earlier this season
(02:29:52):
and he never was quite right. But I feel like
he's gonna always figure out a way to get them
back at a contention. And especially in the NFC sound
just it's so up and down one year year in it,
the next year out, one year in it. I think
it's probably a good move that Ronover is gonna stick around.
And didn't the South go through a stretch for like
a three or four years straight where like the Lord,
the worst place finisher of the previous year won the
(02:30:13):
division the next year. And that's what the NFL is
so great, because when you get that last place schedule, man,
things are so much different. Like, watch the Bears next
year and now they don't have a last place schedule.
Watch how the Bears look next year, right right, And
also encouraging by the way, before the injuries really crept
up on Cam Newton, he was on pace to have
the best season of his career. And don't you know,
(02:30:34):
I think that's the north Turner effect on how efficient
he was before the shoulder injuries and whatever else just
kind of took him down as a season progressed well.
And and look, north Turner got a lot of heat.
Was it Jerry Rice who said that north Turner was
the worst offensive coordinator you'd ever had? Because north Turner
was in Oakland, right he wasn't was the head coach
there towards the very end of Rice's career, and so
he said north Turner was one of the worst UM
(02:30:57):
football coaches he ever had. So some people have been
critical of north Turner and and just what he's done
in the NFL, but early on man he did wonders
for Cam Newton. Cam Newton's numbers are still better than
they've ever been, Uh, taking care, better care of the football,
completion percentages up for a guy who's who dealt with
accurate issue accuracy issues. It's just physically there's something not
(02:31:17):
right with him. And you just wait to see how
that gets played. What a Michael Irvin feels about by
by him as an offensive coordinator, something tells me he
wouldn't share the same sentiment as Jerry rice Man, but
Michael vern put Up got to the Hall of Fame
because of that offense. Bingo, bingo. How about this one?
Going to Waterboro, Maine for this. Now there's authorities out there.
We say a man broke into a home, had a
(02:31:39):
bite to eat, watch TV, and got a car ride
from the unsuspecting victim. The guy that actually owned the
home actually took the guy, picked him up and took
him to his own destination, despite the fact that this
man broke into his house. As complicated as this may sound,
let me walk you through it. So the Sheriff's office
out there and Waterboro said that thirty five year old
man named Derek Tarbox broke into a man's home, took
(02:32:00):
a shower, got dressed into the homeowner's clothing, and was
just sitting down watching TV when the guy who owns
the house actually arrived. Now the intruders said he mistakenly
thought the house belonged to a friend of his and
actually asked the homeowner to take him home. Now, the
guy that owns the house says, oh, you know what,
that seems pretty aplausible. You get broke into the house
or snuck in and maybe you thought it was your
friend's house. It can happen. Let me take you wherever
(02:32:22):
you want to go. So he picked him up took
him to a home of one of his relatives. After
the victim drove back to his house, he later realized
the guy had been robbed. So actually the cops didn't
actually catch up with the tar Box. He was arrested
at a different county and said to be arraigned earlier
later this week. I should say, but that's one of
the craziest stories I've ever heard. You break into a
guy's house, he eat his food, you put on his clothes,
(02:32:43):
you steal from the guy that you tell him. Oh,
you know what, I think? I thought this was a
friend's house. Can you take me somewhere else? Honestly, the
guy should be should not be, uh have any charges
just based on what a moron ben wait a second liked.
Wouldn't you have noticed your clothes on him? Honestly? Like
they like? That wouldn't have been a dead giveaway, like
(02:33:03):
hey I got one of those um you know, I
I climbed, uh or or I I ate the big
nineties six ounce or on Great Outdoors t shirts too.
You did it also, like he wouldn't notice his own
clothes on the guy. And before you take the guy
out of your house, do you not even just checked
the valuables, checked the drawer, just to make double not
knowing how long those guy's been in your house? I
(02:33:25):
confuse your house for somebody else's. Okay, Well, since you've
been here, have you not figured out that it's not
your buddy's house? Like? What a moron? Did you not
notice the pictures of my wife and my kids? And
they're not people you've ever met before. I actually think
the guy who didn't know that he had been robbed
the homeowner, I think he should go to jail instead
of the other guy. I'm not kidding. What an idiot? Man?
(02:33:46):
What a what a moron? How? How how gullible are you?
That's ridiculous? And you drove him wherever you wanted to go.
I'll let me take you where you're trying to get to.
II that did say what an idiot? I was speaking
of idiots. Montana, a man thought he was shooting at
Bigfoot on Sunday. He was not shooting at Bigfoot. It
(02:34:07):
was another person. So it's funny. Seth year old victim
narrowly avoided getting shot. A bullet he hit three feet
to his left. There was another bullet that whiz right
by him. Now, police say that victim tried to avoid
more gunfire. He ran into the trees before he was
actually able to confront the shooter, who was a man
who was in a black four f one fifty. Now,
the alleged shooter reportedly told the victim, quote, I thought
(02:34:29):
you were a bigfoot. He also told him quote I
don't talk your practice, but if I see something that
looks like bigfoot, I just shoot at it, which to
me sounds like if I see something moving, I'm just
gonna fire and ask questions later. Now, the problem is
the person who was shot at didn't report this to
the authorities until two days later, and the authorities at
this point I've not he's still not been able to
find the person who at the four f one fifty.
(02:34:52):
So he's still running amuck, shooting at random bystandards who
he mistakes for bigfoot. Okay, now how do we know?
So let me ask you this because U, first of
just the thought of a guy being shot at because
somebody thought he was big foot is just too funny, Um,
how do we know that that guy shot at him
because he thought he was big foot? How do we
know that for sure? Because that's exactly what he told him. Okay,
(02:35:13):
I thought you were a big foot, that's his call.
And then he took off. Yeah, he said, I thought
you were a big foot. And then he told him
I don't do target practice. If I see something that
looks like bigfoot, I shoot at it. Now, there's no
worry whether this man was harry or large, you know,
but apparently. Oh and also, the victim told the told
the local TV station. You know, the guy's response, you know,
(02:35:34):
seemed pretty like a non emotional approach to something that
seems extremely serious. I was like, yeah, I would agree,
I would agree. Here's what I would say. Listen, man,
we don't buy your excuse. Yeah, why is that officer?
Because big Foot's not real. Okay, that's why we don't
That's why we don't buy it. Okay, Like, uh, sir,
why are you um uh? Why did you threaten that
(02:35:57):
individual over there? I thought he was e t He's
not real, so that that story doesn't hold water. By
the way, the shooter also told the victim, next time
you around the was just wear orange if you don't
want to be confused or bigfoot like it's his fault.
It's all hist He has no remorse whatsoever for shooting
at him. It's like, I blame you for looking like bigfoot.
(02:36:19):
Is your fault that I shot at you? It's like, um,
it's like a guy, uh in the middle of a backstroke,
he's got his hand out of the water and somebody
shoots at his hand and you get back to shore ands,
Hey man, what's the problem? Oh? Sorry, I thought you
were locked that sponsor? Okay, never mind that, We're all
good here, Like it doesn't make what does make sense?
(02:36:40):
Just throwing that couch trans jacket next time? You won't
get shot at a game. And the guy did get shot.
He did not get shot. It was merely avoided getting
shot twice though. Okay, but he had the key. He
had to run because the guy was still shooting at
he shot a multiple times. He was unloading on him.
He actually ran towards the truck and like, hey, I'm
a person, I'm not a big fan. What and what
an idiot? Hells with you? Ken? I heard about this
(02:37:02):
story and apparently this guy shout at another person he
had a woman previously. Yes, what was the excuse for her?
I thought you're a wonder woman. Yeah, no, wonder woman.
I guess right. It's mad. What an idiot? Yeah, you
know that's called that's called a guy who had too
much to drink. Or he's just trying to murder people.
That's what it's called. Definitely murdering. I would say, so interesting.
(02:37:23):
And those are the scraps. All right, well done, keV Alright.

that'll be a lot of fun. Tomorrow will be a
very very busy show. I don't know if I want
(02:38:29):
to do Knox Locks because weeks betting on Week seventeen
is just a just a crapshoot, all right, because you
don't know who's playing, you don't know who's sitting out.
I don't know if I want to do a Knox
Locks for Weeks seventeen. I really don't. I'm thinking about that.
I'm contemplating that. I don't know if I have the balls.
I'll be honest with you. I'm gonna challenge my own
manhood right now and say that I probably don't uh.
(02:38:51):
One thing that I do want to talk about a
little bit, uh, And we'll do and we'll do a
recap on this one as well too. The UFC of
they got moved from Vegas to California to l A
basically because John Jones, who's been popped before for a
positive test on p e d S. There was a
(02:39:13):
a tiny amount of substance that apparently was still left
over from the last time, but it's such a small
amount that it's impossible for it to have any sort
of an effect on the fight. But Nevada didn't feel
comfortable putting the fight on there, so they had l
A put the fight on. So the fight got moved
(02:39:33):
on six days notice from Vegas to l A. It's crazy,
never happened before, and John Jones is fighting, and now
you're hearing all these experts come out and say, look,
he didn't do anything wrong. It's it's almost impossible to
take the amount that that showed up. It's not even
he didn't he didn't fail a test or anything. It's
(02:39:54):
just like, what's showing up there is a residual effect
from something that happened us two years ago. And it
just goes to show you as much as we think
we know about p E d S and cheating and
all the other stuff, we really don't know. Bleep. We don't.
We think that we know what we're talking about, and
we don't. All right, I think that I know a
(02:40:16):
pretty good amount. I know more than the next person
would know. Just from UH, using supplements and talking to
people and training and working out and being really into fitness,
and I still don't know enough. So before you start
pointing fingers and accusing people of cheating, make sure we
understand we're educated on the topic, because that's another example
of a lot of people pointing fingers. And when you
(02:40:37):
really take a step back and you listen to the
experts on it, they're telling you it's not what we
think it is, all right, it's it's a whole different
conversation that we normally have when it comes to p
e d s in sports. UH Jonas knocks Fox Sports Trade.
It's been a fun show. Thanks to Iowa Sam, thanks
