(00:48):
writer for Sports Illustrated. We will discuss the Laker thing
is is, honestly and it's it's in incredible discussion right
between Lebron saying I'm not I'm not appreciating appreciates me
(01:09):
to UH this idea that Lebron you you gotta make
a trade and make the competitively. Nothing is making the
Lakers competitive within the way in which their salary caps
are like, it's not happening. There's no team that's like, oh,
the Lakers are in trouble and they have Russell Westbrook,
who we don't actually want. You know, we're gonna do
(01:29):
is where to give him some really good veteran players
that fit the forty eight million dollars in salary and
help them get back on their feet because they're the Lakers.
That doesn't actually happen. I'm not sure what world people
living we got that. JP Morosio join us um where
we'll ask the question that Jason Stewart asked, which is
(01:50):
why the World Series are waiting to start until today
and tomorrow. Why didn't they start Wednesday? You'll get that answer.
Jason's like, Okay, well, now I'll pay attention to the show,
and you know, you know we got gambler. Um Baker
may feel with a great answer, we've got a good
show for you. Last night was a football game which
played out as predicted by me. Ravens one. Um, they're
(02:13):
just a little bit better than a team that feels
like they're a mess in the Buccaneers, and now they
lose Shack Barrett for the year with a torn achilles bikes. Thanks,
here's Todd Bowles, head coach of the Buccaneers, talking about
getting out of the dark. Until you win ball games
consistently and play four quarters consistently, it's gonna be dark.
(02:34):
You know. That doesn't mean we can't get out of it.
I mean we just have a lot of work to
do as coaches and as players. Here's Todd Bowles had
this exchange with reporter about being three and five. We'll
find yourself at three and five. What's the most surprising
thing about that? Eight teams in nothing surprising. When you
are what your record says you are, you try to
work your way out of it and put your head
(02:55):
down and you can be piste off and do everything
you want. But until you do something out that you
have to own it. So we own that and we
understand that. Here's Tom Brady sent me up to loss.
I think we struggled pretty much at everything. You know,
we're just struggling. Red area, strggling, third down, strugging, run game,
uh two point plays, m hmm, short yardage, backed up start,
(03:22):
first quarter, started the third quarter. Not very good offense football.
Here's Lamar Jackson on how good he thinks his team
can be. I feel like We're very close. No, we
will be right there, but still room for improvement. Um
and let him with stags were still making um making
out there. We we we changed those and I feel
like disguising them. But by the way, a little a
(03:44):
couple of mistakes here there, Sky's limit. It feels kind
of similar to what Aaron Rodgers said, only Aaron Rodgers
says it, and he's calling everybody out right. That's a
that's a that's a that's a big. Let's let's get
to a couple of interesting points before we get to
the absolute topic of the day. I'm not bearing the
lead in Tom Brady's personal life, but I do think
there's a game to discuss. Okay, the Ravens are okay.
(04:09):
They got a lot of injuries. Uh Lamar wasn't particularly
good in the first half. He figured it out in
the second half. He completed all eight of his throws.
He made some smart runs. They win the game. They
get Saints and the Panthers and the Jaguars and the
Broncos in their next four games. They'll be favored in
all of those games. They should win all of those
games before they go to the Steelers, to the Browns,
(04:29):
with de Sean Falcon, Steelers, Bengals. They have a schedule
that opens up for them. But let's also be honest.
Though they lost to the Bills in a close game, UM,
and the Dolphins game, they should have won the alsto
the Giants as well, So we don't know what their
top end is, but they're gonna make the playoffs and
they're gonna be in good position. Can we can we
(04:49):
cease and desist within of this? The Ravens need to
pay Lamar Jackson. Why about the Ravens. Oh, now they're
gonna pay Lamar Jackson. UM. I understand fans who say
this because you're a fan, you don't really know. You
haven't necessarily paid attention, right, But let's just kind of
(05:10):
be honest. The Ravens offered Lamar Jackson a gigantic sum
of money, reportedly two hundred million, of which are guaranteed.
He wants two hundred and fifty one because Shaun Watson
has guaranteed two hundred and fifty million dollars over five years.
And the things that are limiting him are one their
(05:31):
ability to fill the team around him too. I think
most importantly, he doesn't have an agent and those level
of complex deals where you're you're putting money here and
putting money there in different sorts of bonuses that are attainable.
So it is, but isn't kind of guaranteed. Those sorts
of things you can only do when you have a
vast amount of experience of putting these contracts together. It
takes a long time allow of thorough discussion. And one
(05:52):
of the things that the Ravens said repeatedly in the
obviously don't like we haven't been talked to them, you know,
And I leave it to be true because never have
the raven said we don't want Lamar, and based upon
all reporting, they've offered him a gigantic contract. It's just
not the level that he thinks he should get. And
know YEA, by the way, every player except for one,
(06:13):
and then every team except for one likely agree with him.
Shaun Watson's contract is what he wants more. And I
have told you no, I I don't believe Lamar Jackson's
the top five quarterback in the NFL. I don't. That said,
he has every right to believe he should make more
money than Deshaun Watson. He's been an m VP de
Shaun hasn't. He hasn't been hurt. Shawn has. He has
no off the field is shoes. DeShawn has all those lawsuits.
(06:36):
He not wrong. The problem is that he doesn't have
an agent or enough people around him. They're like, look,
I get it the way you think it'll work, okay,
and in some ways has worked. You get one to
more dollar than the previous guy. But this is an
outlier contract. The Ravens aren't going to or don't want
to give it to you. And the only thing you're
(06:57):
doing is not betting on yourself. You have you run
the risk of hurting yourself because they can franchise tag
you for two years, and if you get hurt, God forbid,
you're not gonna get that two ever, potentially if it's
a terrible football injury, which could happen. But but please
(07:18):
don't say the Ravens haven't offered him a ton of
money or don't want him, or haven't offered him mind, Like,
that's just stupid talk. All right, Let's get to the
story of the day. Tom brady ll getting divorce. I've
never I don't remember. I've been doing this since God,
how long am I doing this? Two thousand three. Yeah,
(07:39):
two thousand three, so nearly twenty years. I've been doing
this twenty years. I don't remember talking about somebody's personal life.
But part of it is the door was open when
he shared his personal life in Facebook. Part of it
is this has been a very public story. Um, I
(08:01):
would offer you that I don't believe for one second
football is the main cause of him being divorced. Um.
I feel like it's a symptom of something broken in
the relationship, right, And you're like, wow, you sound like
a therapist. Yeah, when you go through you know, you
go through an end of a relationship and a long
one in a marriage, you go to your good you
(08:21):
go to therapy and try and kind of figure things out.
And uh, you know he does. He looks thin, he
looks tired. Also, like we're honest, Tom Brady looks like
he's had some work done too. Is does that turn
her off? Is that something that he thinks she pushed
him into? Like there's a whole lot of different layers
to it. We don't know. I think she's the Yoko
(08:43):
Ono in the end of the The New England Patriots
go back and track it. Okay, you remember when he
had a falling out. It was over supposedly Alex Guerrero, hey,
who was first welcoming the facility, and they're like, let's
not do that anymore. And then it was how he
(09:04):
was treated and respected by the organization, and those comments
were public from Giselle Bunston. The reason the Patriots worked
was they had they had the only superstar quarterback who
was like, I don't need to take the most money,
and you know what, if you guys want to bust
my chops and film, go for it, I can take it.
And the person who was bothered the most by it
(09:26):
was just Hell. She was the one who in West
Welker dropped the ball which was not a great pass,
hard catch, but he did good. It caught it against
the giants. She's going in the elevator. My husband cannot
tats out the past, right, that was her and I
don't necessarily blame her, Like we're all a product um,
not just our upbringing, but how we live. It's really
(09:48):
hard for somebody, for example, in California to understand. And
I was in New York for two days, like they're good,
you're going through fall. It's how you dress, how you
act the time you're outside, the time you're inside, how
much you watch sports, all that is different based upon
your your environment. She is the most successful supermodel in
the history of the industry. Supermodels are not treated like
(10:10):
normal human beings. They don't give him twenty dollars a
day per diem and go like a goo fend for yourself, right.
They treated like royalty, and by her estimation, her husband
should be treated the same, and she voiced her displeasure
with it. I do think that went over with Bill.
(10:30):
So if it if it's if it's me, I like, look,
it's a I think it's a sad story because and
I understand that that the presentation in public is not
always what happens in private. But the presentation in public
seemed like loving father, seemed like superindu. Right that they
doubled down their relationship a couple of years ago when
(10:51):
they had when they had some hard times. It seems
like he was into her and her stuff and she
was into him and his stuff. It can't be about
for Paul. Now, don't get me wrong. I understand if
you tell your family like, hey, look we're gonna do
and we're gonna do Tampa, and then we're done, and
I don't think it's just football. Remember he signed a
deal to work for Fox whenever football has done. So
(11:13):
it's one thing to go, hey, I don't want I'm
not gonna play football again, and everybody goes, ah, yeah,
Dad's home, and then he goes, ah, you know what,
I don't like you guys that much. I want to
go back and play football. And then when he get
does get home, it's like, oh, yeah, hey, by the way,
when I am done playing football, I'll be here Monday
through Thursday. But then Friday, I gotta leave and go
(11:33):
and work for Fox because I love football and I
love making money and I'm gonna go to that. So
I I I think there's an element there, But there's
also the element to the who in their right mind
tells their husband, who has been the most successful person
ever in his field, went to stop going to work.
(11:54):
You know, I'll give you an example. It's different. It
might be hard to fall. It's got lip show here
in Fox Sports Radio. My grandpa was like a self
made dude. He became an accountant, but he put himself
through through college by overnight. He would early in the
morning he go down to the docks they bought a truck.
(12:15):
Him and a buddy bought a truck. They buy fish
from the fisherman and come in and then they go
and they'd sell it to restaurants in New York. And
that's what he would do from like, you know, four
in the morning until whatever, and then he catched a
napp and then he go take night classes and then
go do it again. So he was an accountant, and
then while being an accountant, he became a car dealer.
How to become a car dealer If you know anything
about accountants, they look at your books and like, well
(12:36):
this that, and a guy couldn't pay. So he's like,
I'll take a piece of the business, and eventually he
took over the business. He retired at sixty years old.
And keep mind, my grandpa was he's like one of
these cats that like, well he could really address I
like back in the seventies and eighties. And again I
know those styles don't translate, but like he would go
to work everyday, beautiful suit, kerkchief, you know, and he
(12:58):
looked the part. And then as sixty years old, he
was like I'm done. Then you go over to his house.
Instead of being perfectly like haircut, you know, always dressed nice,
no matter what he did. They go over his house
and be like two in the afternoon, he's in his
boxers watching Wapner. Swear to God, what a lot of
dudes when they stopped working, like they stopped being a person.
(13:21):
He started just kind of hanging around that like that's
not who And I'm sure Tom Brady's like, that's not
who I am. I'm I'm gonna get up. I mean,
I've been where I've been getting in and watching film
at five o'clock for for the last twenty years. I'm
not gonna just shut it down and do nothing that's
on who I am. And if somebody says, hey, I'm
gonna take away or you know, for our relationship, you
have to take away the blueprint, the fundamentals of who
(13:42):
you are as a person. I'm sure he didn't like that,
But I don't know. Jay stude By, are you guys
with me? Do you do you think this relationship ended
because of football? Well? I also think that she probably
had her career that um she probably put to the
side for the family. And I think that at some
(14:02):
point maybe she was expecting Tom to do the same.
Is that reason to get a divorced. Um, I'm gonna
brought it up if I know, I mean, yeah again,
this is I mean hiring any will work through it,
(14:27):
you know, I know, what do you think, Jase too?
I definitely do not think it's a reason they got divorced.
It was probably the the straw that broke the camel's back.
It was probably the last contributing factor. Maybe, But you know,
we all in this room are grown men who have
had failed relationships. Not Ramos, No, no, he has to
(14:48):
actually no, no, you you guys were ripping through women
in high school and you know the relationships came to
an end. Ramos, Ramos fan. There's legends, legend legendary stories
at first parts of past and he can't go in right,
almost as slaying. But no, you know, any money who's
been through a failed relationship knows that there are so
(15:09):
many things that go into it, so many things that
are irreconcilable before you get to those like tangible things. Um.
I think this is the most reported and the most public,
But for those to say they gotten into a divorce
because Tom chose football over his family, that just sounds
like shortsighted to me. Guys like, damn right, she did,
(15:33):
damn right, you did? Alright, Tommy, But it's but but
it's it's the blanket um of doing it. Like it
sounds very simple, but it's everything that comes with it,
Like did you say like was it because of football? No?
But was football the reason why they were maybe having troubles,
(15:53):
why they there was no date night, why there was
no um, you know, alone time or family vacations or
and all of that could be because of football. So
it sounds very simplistic to be like, no, it wasn't
because of football, But if football was the thing that
was constantly getting in the way, that's a pretty good
(16:14):
way to characterize it. Mm hmm. I think it's a
really good discussion. Um. And you know, there's there's there's
parts of me that relates to it and understands it,
and there's parts of me that just goes, hey, I
also relate and understand that there's things we with a
ton of things we don't know, right, we don't know. Um.
(16:37):
I agree with you, Dan, You're you're you're making great
points there, right, there's a lot more to football. The
counter to that would be it wasn't like when she
met him. He was like an accountant and he's like, hey,
I'm gonna try this football thing. And then the football
thing kind of spiral and she was like, hey, you know,
you gotta kind of dial it back because I had
I gave up my career for you. Um. And that's
(16:57):
why I would come back with and say it'll be
like it wasn't like she was nobody either. Yeah, yes,
but again they got into this relationship, they got married,
and I'm part of it is when you get married
a lot of times, and especially get married young. And
he wasn't super young, right, he was uh, well he
was thirteen years and he's forty five now, so he
(17:18):
was with thirty two. But you get married and there's
things you're like, I didn't that one didn't come up.
You know, I don't know. I don't I don't know
what agreement they had, and if he violated that agreement,
I don't know how much. It's time now. I would
tell you that. And I have a friend who, um
who I remember he got divorced and his ex wife
was just like, look, he would never really present. You know,
(17:41):
he was home, but he wasn't home. I would guess
that that's A. That's a part of it. And that's
a little bit more of what Dan's talking about right
where it's like it's not football per se. But when
Tom Brady does football, he does football. That's all he
does is football. All his text, all his calls, all
the videos on his phone are about football. I don't know,
we'll we'll have some more, but man, that's a that's
(18:04):
a tough tough four hours for Thomas Edward Patrick Brady
the second lose a football game standalone, and then you
announced that your divorce, which by the way, got divorced
kind of their divorced. He wrote it like they're divorced,
not separated, not not she filed for divorce, that they're divorce. Uh,
(18:27):
it's Florida, so maybe things happen much quicker there. Be

(19:10):
get two if your team wins. Um, Chris Um. Let's
start with kind of immediacy, right. There's the will Russell play?
Will he not play? There's the Anthony Davis element to it,
and then will Russell Westbrook come off the bench tonight?
Which somehow is like some alarm to be sent out worldwide?
What are you hearing about the the current state of
(19:32):
the Lakers just for tonight? We'll get to the bigger story. Uh,
just for tonight. Well, I'm a little bit of a prisoner.
What I read when it comes to the health of
Anthony Davis obviously a game time decision at this point. Um.
The Westbrook off the bench stuff has been trending in
that way for a few weeks. Now. I know that
(19:52):
Darvin Ham has you know tried to soften the ground
with Westbrook during training camp about this being a possibility.
You know, Russ kind of blew it up in that
last preseason game and then subsequently what he said about
the contributing to the hamstring injury. But as far as
I've been able to glean, that the Lakers have reached
(20:12):
that point where they they realized something has to radically
change if Westbrook is staying on the roster there I
can tell you there's no overwhelming confidence within the Lakers
organization that this is gonna work. But the senses is
at the very least um changing things up and putting
Russell Westbrook in a reserve role and seeing if he
(20:34):
can do what other high level guards have been able
to do in transition into that second unit. That's it's
the only option they have left. I actually don't hate that.
I I don't hate it because one of the things
that goes underrated is you're not playing against the best players.
You know, you just you just aren't. Your players just
(20:55):
come out. But also, the backup point guards role is
different than the starting point guard. The backup guard just
you can't come in, and I mean Jamal Crawford right, like,
just come in and go get buckets, um and and
and play. The issue the issue is is that the
way he's going to play or they want him to
play with that second unit. Yeah, it is the issue.
(21:16):
And I don't know the answer to that question. If
I was an advisor to Russell Westbrook and he's had
a few you know, his former agent was advising him
on things he didn't like to hear. But if I'm
advising Russell Westbrook, I would say, look, you have two
choices here. You can be obstinate and say I'm gonna
(21:37):
be a starter or or nothing else. Or you can
embrace this reserve role early in the season and if
you're successful at it, not only will the team be successful,
but you can tack on three four more years onto
your career. I mean, you mentioned Jamal Crawford, not the
same player as Westbrook. We acknowledge, but what would have
(21:57):
happened if Crawford, you know, in his prime when he
started to decline a little bit, had so you know what,
I'm a starrying nothing else. He at the league five
years earlier, and he wouldn't have had kind of a
bona fides of being one of the best six men
of all time. I mean to you and me, it
probably seems like a no brainer. If you're Russell Westbrook,
you've become a sixth man. You stay in the NBA,
(22:18):
and you have give yourself a chance to contribute to winners.
If you don't, you're out of the NBA. Probably is
early as next season. I'm very interested to see once
he's given that reserve role full time, how he responds
to it. The other part to it I heard you
with with Dan Patrick. I thought you did a great job.
Is is this discussion about trading, about trading people um
(22:40):
and fixing the Lakers? And I'm like, what trade makes
them viable to contend for an NBA title? I don't right,
Like it'll be better, but you're not going to be
You're not. Like their roster has been so depleted by
by really by three trades, right, Anthony Davis trade. Uh,
(23:00):
then they trade Zobach for no you know, was the
kid from from Bucknell they traded for like for who
ever amount of right the shooter from Bucknell. The Zobas trade,
the Anthony Davis trade, and the Russell Westbrod trade. They
just they don't have the dudes they don't have the roster.
They doesn't make two guys for Russell Westbrook doesn't make
(23:20):
them a championship contender. So in terms of the Lakers
desire to move him, is it to put themselves as
a position for next year or for this year? I
think everything is is about this year. Um, you know
you can to do the Kyle Lowry trade a couple
(23:41):
of years ago into this that you know, the young
looking back that they made Kaylon Horton Sucker untouchable seems
wild at this point. I honestly, I think everything they're
discussing internally right now is what can we do to
make this team better this year? Because this is the
the deal they made. I mean, Lebron extended with them,
(24:03):
and Rob Polinka said it just a few weeks ago,
like as part of that, we're committed to pursuing it
championship as best we can, including any reference the two
first round picks that the Lakers have to trade. I
agree with you, there is no deal out there that's
available that makes the Lakers a title contender. If they
deal with Indiana, I think they get better. I think
(24:25):
it a get appreciably better because all of a sudden
they become maybe one of the better three point shooting
teams in the league with Turner and Heels, and I
think the Utah trade, you know, Clarkson shooting from three
this season. No, it's early, and conn League is a
good offensive player, so I think that makes them better
as well. But the ceiling on that type of team
is probably five six seed in in a Western conference.
(24:47):
That's that's loaded. So I agree it doesn't make them
title contention better. But one are the choices here, like
do you play out this season with the current roster
and you know, hope that Anthony Davis become the guy
we're used to seeing, or do you push your chips
in even if it only makes you marginally better. It's
(25:07):
it's it's gonna be fascinating to see what they do.
But by the way, new Celtics head coach Joe Massoula
is the folks of Sports Illustrates Daily cover story and
Chris Mannox is our guest. The senior writer for Sports Frustrated,
spoke to Missoula for an exclusive interview about taking over
the story franchise after the suspension of emay Udoka. I
did I know the article. I saw the article read
(25:29):
some of the article for people who don't know, like
this is a huge thing for Missoula, right, like Eve
been a head coach in the NBA. He's in his thirties.
I know he's been a coach elsewhere. Um, what what
was his reaction too, because they leap frog Damon Stodemeyer,
who former NBA star supposedly the number one or number
two assistant, had been a head coach in college as well.
(25:50):
What was his reaction to them naming him the head coach.
I think he was initially surprised, probably for you know,
some of the reasons you kind of laid out there.
He is. I mean, he was a back bench guy
last season, and you can probably count on one hand
throughout the history of the NBA the number of back
bench guys have jumped to head coaching roles, and he
could probably count on one finger the number of back
(26:12):
bench guys that have jumped into head coaching roles on
championship tenders. So I don't think Joe Massoula was expecting
it by any stretch. But when you touch the people
internally in Boston, you become less surprised. I mean, you know,
the second Joe Massoula began working with the main Red
Clause during the two thousand sixteen seventeen season. That's when
(26:35):
he really popped on the radar of everybody in Boston
because he did a really, really good job by all accounts,
in that situation. He went back to college that was
more of a family thing that it was as much
as it was an opportunity, And as soon as he
got to the Celtics, he impressed right away. I mean,
Mayodoka didn't have to keep Joe Massoula on his staff,
(26:55):
but he did, and Joe Massoula was a big contributor
to transitioning that team from the blitzing defense that they
played under Brad Stevens to what they played last year,
which was the best defense in the NBA. Brad Stevens,
he interviewed Joe before we hired. He made a Doky.
He was impressed there, and then Danny Ainge goes out
and interviews him for the Utah job, and he was
(27:15):
impressed there. So when you kind of dig into a Doug,
you really get a sense that that this guy has
the real shops and is a really bright basketball mind.
Chris Mannox joining us a senior writer for sports show
Say Doug out Lip Show on Fox Sports Radio. Um,
we've seen the games of what's happened in Brooklyn. They're struggling,
(27:38):
but Kyrie is still openly supporting Ben Simmons. Inside that
locker room, inside the front office is what do they
think about the group that they have. I think there's
some concern about what they've seen early on. And if
you're looking at, you know, coaches under the most pressure.
I think Steve Nash for the cop of the list. Um,
(28:00):
you know, it's not just the start of this season,
but getting wiped out in the playoffs in four games
last year is still lingering. I think in the minds
of some people in Brooklyn as far as far as
what they they can do roster wise, they gotta get bigger.
Like I was watching them on Opening night when the
Pelicans were just beating them up on the inside, but
(28:20):
it was balancing his and Zion. I mean, Nick Klacks
is a good player, but he is not the big
thing needs. They've got to find a way to get
some size in that front cord, and they've got to
find a way to get more out of Ben Simmons.
And I can't sit here and tell you that I know,
or really anybody in Brooklyn knows exactly how to do that.
You watch him play, and there are shades of the
(28:40):
former player that we're used to seeing, but the confidence
obviously isn't there. Every time a camera pans to him,
you can see that kind of panicky look in his
eyes about what he's doing offense, which doesn't have the confidence.
And I don't know about you, but I don't know
that there's another option other than just rolling him out
there for thirty thirty five minutes per game and hope
that confident and eventually comes back. Because without Ben Simmons
(29:03):
playing at the level he's used to playing at in Philadelphia,
this team we've already seen Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant
can go off. They can give you seventy points every
single night. That's not enough to win games. They've got
to find a way to get Ben Simmons going. Um.
How what about Philadelphia? Why the slow start defense? They
don't play any um And it's not all James Harden's
(29:25):
fault this time. And I'm very curious to see if
Matiffe Tyble get some minutes. He's been buried on the
bench with that, uh, with that, with the changing of
the roster, but they're fine offensively. I think I'm beat Obviously,
if if Mbete was playing with the kind of force
that we saw him play last season, they'd probably have
a better record so far. But you know, the conditioning
(29:47):
thing is an issue. Maybe the foot injury are overcoming,
it is still an issue. But ultimately they don't defend anybody.
One of the worst defensive teams in the league early on.
And if I'm Doc rivers whatever limitations Matif's table has offensively,
you gotta get him out there because he's the only
guy really outside of them beat on that roster that
you sure is going to be able to get you
stops Chris Mannox. I encourage everybody to read that Sports

This is game time on the Doug Gottlieb Show. Dan
by what he got, my man, Doug. The game today
is psychic alright, psychic looking over a variety of topics
(32:16):
here psychic What fan will be the most annoying throughout
the world series Phillies, Marlins, Marlin Man, Oh, Marlin Man,
I had Phillies or Astros or Dodger fan as well,
complaining about the Astros. There could be that option. I'm looking.
(32:36):
It's it's gonna be. It's it's gonna be astro fan.
It's gonna be. And by the astro fan is like
giant fan, Like no bare Bonds hit seventy three. It
like nobody disputy hits seventy three. He's on steroids, Like
it's because you're a hater. It's because you're a hater.
Like now he's on steroid. It's like pretty well documented.
And we mean Greg Twey by that right, he's kidding Greg. No.
(32:57):
I know other astro fans. They're all of actions and
some our friends of mine, like man, you start talking
about astros and you get really obnoxious, psychic. Well, Aaron
Rodgers get an additional offensive weapon prior to the NFL
trade deadline. I believe he will. I believe he will.
I don't know who, but I believe that they're you know,
they're searching around. They'll find somebody. Um Odell becames He's
(33:20):
not ready until December. I also don't know, like then
this is a real thing, And I don't know if
they're gonna play in the cold in the in the
playoffs anyway, isn't that interesting? Like it feels like they
rebuilt their team to play in the cold in the
playoffs and if they make the playoffs, they're probably gonna
be playing in the dome on the road, right, um,
But I don't know how will be j hand, Like
(33:40):
the weather can be an issue when you're coming off
of second tour n A c L. So that's interesting.
But yes, I he'll get one. Psychic will be NFL
ever eliminated Artificial turf playing surfaces, Nope not reality. Can't
do it, can do it? Can do? It cost too
much money? And this is this is all, this is
(34:01):
all just a cycle. This is it's just artificial turf
comes along what you know, how many years ago. Oh,
it's amazing. Look at this field turf, so much better.
Correct little rubber balls. It's recycled tires. There's a recycling it.
Recycle tires. Okay, yeah, that's it's in our In our
(34:23):
pre show meeting, I told a joke to Doug. It
fell real flat, But I said, it's amazing how far
the acceptance of marijuana has come in our society. Because
I woke up to the headline Cooper Cup thinks we
should play on grass. Oh, I didn't think. It didn't
(34:45):
fall flat. It was just not funny. It's kind of
low hanging fruit. It wasn't your you. I respect you
have a little bit higher level of WHOA, So you're
kind of disappointed in ason as what you're saying that
was that was too easy. That was something I would say,
that was a dad joke. I can't wait till the
(35:06):
next artificial playing surface that's gonna be better than this
that in twenty five years, we can all hate. Psychic
will usc or u c l A backtrack on leaving
for the Big ten and returned to the Pack twelve. No, No,
you're gonna get seventy million dollars per team Pack twelve
commission George Klovkoff this week expressing the positives of U
(35:30):
c l A staying in conference. All right, Doug, they
go world's largest outdoor cocktail party in Jacksonville tomorrow. Yeah,
so psychic um or, as I typed on the script,
pissick no, it's shick is what I typed. Will the
(35:50):
Georgia Florida game ever moved from Jacksonville and be played
on campus? Um? Yes, yes, Because if there's one thing
we've seen that is considered sin college football is if
we can make more money doing it and destroy the
fabric and the history of the sport, damn it, will
do it. And that's what they're gonna do, alright, Psychic.
(36:12):
Will Charles Barkley backtrack his criticism of Clay Thompson after
hearing Thompson's response last night, did you see? Yes? I did?
I did. Um. I didn't think like we're making a
will make a big deal of it. I didn't think
it was a big deal. Like he's disappointed, but he's
(36:33):
also saying like, well, no, duh. Barkley is not wrong.
He's not the same guy. The question is not is
he the same guy? The question is will he get
back to being the same guy? And you know, Barkley
talking about his decline means he believes that he won't
get back to being the same guy. Clay obviously thinks
he will. The only thing that matters is how he plays. Psychic.
(36:54):
Will there ever be an upper salary limit or a
salary cap in the NBA. Isn't there already there's luxury
at tax But yeah, but this is in terms of
one individual what you can make, right Yes, uh, actually,
well this would actually be for um for a team
(37:15):
for individual for a team spending. Huh Uh No, they
were not. They'll just make it so punitive it you know,
it's a lot like it's not like the lack of
vaccine mandate in the NBA, Like, yeah, we we're not
gonna make a vaccine mandate. We're just gonna make it
so hard for you to survive, to to function without
being vaccinated that that essentially makes it that that's what
(37:37):
will happen. Uh. The Coyotes in the NHL are playing
in Arizona States Arena. Uh this season five thousand seats.
Psychic had no idea. Yeah, I didn't know there was
an Arizona State Hockey arena. Yes, well, we see five
thousand seat arenas for the NHL or NBA teams in
the future. No. Remember there was that talk that UM
(37:58):
where the Chargers played. Don't know who sponsors it now, right,
it was somebody, some health some health place sponsor it. Right.
It was like thirty seeds stadium that maybe that's the
new trend because you make all the money off TV. No,
you still make money off the gate. Now, this is
game time on the Doug Gotlips and I don't think
(38:19):
getting people in the arena is the problem for hockey.
It's getting people outside the arena to be excited about it.
I'll tell you what you can wager on this weekend,
