Speaker 1 (00:00):
All Right, you know this is the Doug Gottlieb Show.
Here's in the bonus with Doug Gottlieb.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Gottlieb Show in the Bonus Fox Sports Radio. Okay, there's
a bunch of things I want to get to from
this weekend. But but you know, it's it's really interesting
(00:44):
that we do this thing in sports seemingly every year
every year, where we become very result oriented people. And
that's fine. We're very result and not process oriented people.
And my my point to that would be, if you've
been paying attention to the Bills, I should have beaten
(01:05):
the Eagles, should have beaten them in the Jets win
if they just don't even throw the football, they win
the game. There's so many little games that kind of
got away from them. Hell and nearly got away from
them in Kansas City. But in totality against the best
teams in the NFL, they're not only competitive, they're they're
kind of good. Right, Like, what do you mean, Well,
they beat the Dolphins, they beat the Chiefs in Kansas City,
(01:29):
they should have beaten the Eagles. That was in Philadelphia,
and they just beat the snot out of the Dallas Cowboys.
Now you could sit there and go like, well, those
that's being results orienton, watch the games, watch the games.
So and I think, and I've said, I think they
have post thirteen second disorder PTSD because they lost in
(01:51):
Kansas City when they should have won the game and
went to overtime with the thirteen second lead. They were
up by three and gave up a field goal on
two of the worst defensive calls I've ever seen. Playing
off coverage is just beyond stupid. But they did and
they lost, and then you had the Tomorrow Hamlin thing
last year and that absolutely derailed them. But it's like
(02:14):
we're sitting there looking for an AFC team, like, man,
I wish there was the AFC team, Like end of
the year, it's gonna be the same teams you thought
it was gonna be, Right, it's gonna be the Ravens,
it's gonna be the Chiefs. Hey, it's gonna probably be
the Dolphins. And we'll see what comes out of the
(02:34):
AFC South. But we always knew the AFC South was
the weakest of the divisions, and it's gonna be the
weakest of the divisions. And it's gonna be the Bills.
Why because those franchises have figured it out. Those quarterbacks
are good enough to coaching, Like, I mean, honestly, like
the best quarterbacks are Pat Mahomes, Lamar and Josh Allen,
(02:58):
and Tua has the best talent around him. This is
not that hard. And by the way, it shows even
worse why the Chargers should have done what they did
going back before the season began, because you can't be
the only team of the league quarterback who's not in
playoff contention. And granted, I know he's hurt now, but
they weren't really in playoff contention before he got hurt.
(03:21):
Not surprised at all by the Bills. More surprised how
many people hopped off the Buffalo bandwagon than I am
that the Bills have now kind of figured it out.
Second thing, I'm going to be the guy that keeps
saying I told you so on Bronnie James. He played yesterday,
they played Auburn, and we do this thing where we're like, oh, man,
(03:44):
Bronnie James is playing, Like, look, he's a freshman, he's
a nice player. He's by no means Jonathan Gravoni, who
I think does a really good job in this case,
I got to question some level of credibility in that
he had him as the tenth high strated prospect heading
into the year. He was never on anyone's board a
(04:05):
first round prospect, let alone a top ten prospect. That
is the old currying favor with the King sort of thing,
or with the King's agency. And I understand how the
biz works, right, Like, you don't want to be super
harsh whatever. And in no way is this, believe me,
no way is this anti bronni And I'm not even
(04:26):
gonna say anti Lebron. Like Lebron's saying his son was
better than some players that play in the NBA. You're like,
how could Lebron say that? Do you know why? Because
he's a dad. That's why. Ask any kid, any dad
anywhere about their kid, and they will whatever they are.
It's like guys who drank beers, right, how many beers
(04:46):
did you have?
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I had fifteen? Stop it, dude, you had five. I
watched you. You baby said your beer. No, my kid's
gotta be a pro. My dad loved the hell out
of me. He told Rick Jerris that I passed the
ball better than Johnstockey. You know what, John's you know what?
You know what Rick Majeris said, Bob, don't ever say
that out loud again. The point is this, I don't
(05:11):
blame Lebron for tweeting that his son is better than
NBA players. He's a dad. Dad's all I know. I
coach kids every weekend, fourteen or thirteen and fourteen year olds. Hey,
and every one of them completely and either the smartest, nicest.
I only have good parents. I have a one asshole philosophy.
(05:34):
There's only a lot to be one asshole in my
basketball program. You know that asshole is me, okay, And
they all do the same thing. Like I can show
you my text. I have kids that played the whole
game yesterday we've lost to it. Probably they're good. We
should have beaten. Then we missed layups, we had two
points taken off. I still don't know why we lost
my two points, Like a lot of shit that went on,
(05:54):
but whatever, you know, And they all want to know,
like why did my kid play? More like one? Well,
I have to take somebody off the court to put your
kid on the court too. I play everybody. Oh, I
had eight guys that played everybody. My son was said
didn't even play and he was definitely playing because you
know he's like, well, well you play daddy ball, Like, well,
you know I'm not. Now, don't you fucking do it
for my health?
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Right?
Speaker 2 (06:15):
But here's the thing. They all lose their mind. So
I don't blame Lebron. He's just a dad, which is fine,
and I and and and but we're doing this thing.
But here's the crazy thing about it. So last year
he's at Sierra Canyon. Okay, Sierra Canyon about three or
four years ago was a dominant program. When his freshman year,
(06:37):
they were a dominant program in southern California, and since then,
since he's become a starter, they have him been dominant.
He goes to USC and USC was a top twenty
preseason team, and he's not necessarily the reason, but isn't
it weird? USC stinks right now. They're not good. They
(06:57):
were not really competitive yesterday at Auburn and he only
played like fifteen minutes. So it's not his fault. But
I'm telling you, all of this hype and all of
the distraction of having him is the reason, is at
least part of the reason that they're not as good
as they should be. Just like Sierra Canyon last year
was not as good as they should be. It's on
(07:21):
a micro the bigger problem in the macro. I understand
player rankings sort of help. I know, I have a kid.
He likes to see his name on the list, just
like anybody else, even ones that he doesn't really belong on.
My son hadn't really grown yet. It's like, I'm a
realist about it. But what we did to Sierra Kenyon,
(07:45):
were doing to usc and frankly, we're going to do
to Brownie's whole career. I have not heard anyone say,
you know what, he's really an asshole, not anybody, and
everybody thinks like he a nice player, pretty good someday,
But the excessive amount of hype and I will I'm
(08:07):
gonna just say, honesty, Jonathan Givoni, that's the guy who
is most to blame for this thing, and it's honestly
because of the level of respect people have for all
the rest of his work. But when you list him
as the tenth highest rated prospect in the world for
this year's NBA Draft, which is the most laughable thing ever. Look,
he's in a league called the Mission League. Last year
(08:30):
called the Mission League. Last year he was not one
of the five best players in the Mission High School
Basketball League last year, you're like, no, I mean, look
it up. Dusty Stromer and Caleb Foster played for the
same school in Notre Dame in Sherman Oak which is
right down the street Morey broadcast from. They beat him
four times none they got worse and worse and worse
(08:51):
every time they played him. In nice players Division one player,
a mid major plus high major, he comes off the
bench eventually. I think if if things were normal year
three or four, he'd be a starter, be a good player.
But when Jonathan Gravoni put him as the tenth highest
(09:11):
rated prospect, and when the McDonald's All American Committee put
him on in the McDonald's All American Game, despite the
fact that Caleb Foster plays a duke right, Jared McCain,
Dusty Stromer, all Southern California kids, all of them should
have gone, and all of them did not go. When
those two things happened, the hype train went out of control.
(09:32):
And again, this is not the fault lebron James. It
is not the fault of Bronni James. It's the fault
of the credibility that Jonathan Gavoni has and how we
normally view the McDonald's All American Game.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Well, let's get to what the Fox says, and now
what does the Fox say? This his Dan Patrick on
the Bills offense.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Yesterday the Dallas Cowboys get roughed up on the road
by the Buffalo Bills. But then Buffalo, You're going, how
did they lose to Denver? Or how did they lose
to New England? How did they lose to the Jets.
But then they blow out Miami, they beat Kansas City,
they should have beat Philadelphia, and then you won last
night or yesterday afternoon against the Dallas Cowboys. But they're
(10:26):
eight and six. Nobody's going to want to play them.
They got to get in for nobody wanting to play them.
And they ran the ball, ran the ball. Here are
the numbers here, So what forty five times two hundred
and sixty six yards James Cook, Dalvin Cook's brother, twenty
five carries one to seventy nine, averaging seven yards to carry.
(10:49):
We've been saying for years now, if you get a
running game to help Josh Allen, then you would probably
see a more well rounded offense there. And you saw that,
and it wasn't about Josh Allen. He had seven completions
now and he ran a little bit, scored a touchdown,
but they had one penalty. If you're not turning the
ball over, you're going to be able to stay in
(11:11):
most games. That team is really talented.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
All that is fair. All that is fair. And you know,
there's a lot of people who have been critical of
Sean McDermott for giving the game ball to a quarterback
who completed seven passes. But part of that is he
won the game by not fucking up the game. Like
that's actually a thing. When you're that highly paid and
you've always had to do it yourself, it's hard for
(11:38):
that not to be your default. It's like we have
people who comment on sports that have no fucking clue
at all about what actually happens in a locker room. Like,
whatever you think of Josh Allen, he's got an ego, right,
and his ego has won them games, has lost them games.
You have to have supreme self confidence. The stand back
(11:58):
there's a quarterback knowing you're gonna get hit and there's
a chance of interception. There's a balance there between, Like
they lost to the Jets because of Josh Allen trying
to win the game we didn't have to, and the
Cowboys waved a little bit of white flag. Zach Martin
gets hurt. They were bad on the road, so you
run the ball late instead of throwing it. They played
(12:19):
it safe. But sometimes you reward a guy for not
screwing up, even though his contract, his ego, his normal
role is we need you to take over to win.
But that's what happens when you have And I'm not
talking about Dan, I' talking about other people, well, especially
on social media that comment on shit that they don't
know anything about, like, oh, these egos are so fragile.
(12:42):
No shit, don't believe me. Aaron Rodgers lost his mind
because the Green Bay Packers drafted a guy who'd started
for a year and a half in college and everyone
knew wouldn't be ready for a couple of years. They
all do. Sports are not just determined by who's better,
who's more talented. Some of it's by health and a
(13:05):
lot of it's by confidence. And mental state. So until
you understand the mental state of each individual player and
how a coach tries to manipulate that, shut the actual
fuck up and go, hey, you know what. The Bills
had a game plan, they executed it, and it was
the Cowboys that looked completely lost. Here's Richard Sherman calling
the forty nine Ers the best team in the NFL
ahead of the game with the Ravens.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
The San Francisco forty nine Ers are the best team
in the National Football League and they have been for
the majority of this season. They did have that three
game skid missing Deebo Samuels and Trent william Trent Williams,
but I do think this is going to be a
competitive ball game. I think it's going to be close.
I think Lamar Jackson and how dynamic and unique he is,
is going to present problems for the San Francisco forty
(13:50):
nine Ers. They allowed the Arizona Cardinals to run the
ball a little bit more successfully than they usually have,
but they will have Eric Armstead and Javon Hargrave back
for this game, so I expect it to be a
little different. I expect them to be better against a
run the Ravens are going to be without Keaton Mitchell,
their home run hitter, so that'll make a difference. Tarvarius
Ward is playing All Pro defense lead in the league
(14:12):
and passes defense and had a really good game with
two interceptions against Arizona Cardinals. So I think they're firing
on all cylinders at the right time.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
I would agree. I mean, I think most people think
the Niners are the best team when they're healthy, and
you know, more injuries to the Ravens, they lose another
running back, likely for the year. The Ravens are a
dynamic team, tremendous defensively. They're good offensively, not great. Lamar
Jackson has just that unique thing that no one else has,
is the ability to just create a play on his own.
(14:44):
But I would generally agree. I mean, how about this
run though for the Niners. Now you might say, hey,
that game was close. I mean really, you go to
when it was twenty one thirteen and it could have
been twenty one to nineteen, not for a penalty calling
a playback. But it's sometimes it's hard to get ready
for an Arizona you know, hey, we just played the
(15:04):
Eagles and the Cowboys. Now we got to play Arizona,
who everybody thinks we shoul mulliwamp and they did forty
five to twenty nine. Niners are the best team. The
best team doesn't always win. You gotta stay healthy. I
think the Ravens look like the best team in the AFC,
and they have not been fully healthy. Here's Colin Cowherd
on why Christian McCaffrey is the NFL's MVP.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Christian McCaffrey is the world's best running back. Brock Perdy.
It's a good quarterback, maybe very good. Maybe I'm under
selling him, but I see other worldly talent here. The
NFL's reluctance to give running backs the MVP award has
now risen to comical. He's on pace to have twenty
four touchdowns and twenty two hundred yards on a team
(15:46):
that is stacked kittle I Yuke Debo. They're stacked with weapons,
and he can finish with a touchdown and a half
a game and twenty two hundred yards. That's unbelievable. And
this league is reluctant to feed running backs, to embrace
running backs, to pay running backs. And yet San Francisco
is nineteen eighty eight football. They are old school. He's
(16:08):
the typewriter re emerging. Feed him the ball. I think
twenty years from now, it's going to look really silly
if this Niner team was to win a Super Bowl
and you're gonna be like, my god, Christian McCaffrey had
twenty four touchdowns in twenty twenty and they had debo
and how you can kittle in Hall of Famers, he
didn't win the MVP. Now they give to brock Purty.
Where's he at? Well, they didn't want to pay him
(16:28):
eventually three years later, so he's at bouncing around the league.
Like at some point, are we ever going to embrace
a running back? Like, if you're not going to embrace
Christian McCaffrey, if you're not going to consider him for MVP,
then just I mean, make up new guidelines.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Well, I agree, I mean, but I would say Tyreek
Hill is more dynamic than even Christian McCaffrey. I mean,
CHRISTOPHERV is a great player when he's healthy, he's unbelievable.
Tyreek Hill much the same. I'd say the only difference
in the two is because Tyreek Hill is a wide
receiver who you can use some as running back, whereas
(17:04):
it's the opposite for McAffrey. Mcafy's a running back who
can use some as kind of a pass catching threat.
He demands the attention at least two, if not three,
guys every time he's out in the pattern. If you
don't cover him with two guys, you are asking to
be beaten. And he has that type of game breaking speed.
But I think the deal with Christian McCaffrey is he's
gonna split votes to Brock Perdy. Br Prady is not
(17:25):
the most valuable player in this league. It's the stupidest
fucking argument we could ever have. He's a good player,
he's playing well, he plays a loaded roster. I think
everyone realizes the reality of It's like that's like a
team award.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Like.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Man, they're really good and he's doing a really good
job of getting making the decisions, getting the right But
when he didn't have all the guys, he was in
average to blow average quarterback. No, No, he's just unlucky. Okay, fine,
take any of those top ten quarterbacks, put them on
the Niners. The Niners are as good or better. Right,
(17:57):
take Tyreek Hill off of the Dolphins. Watched last week
when he was hurt. What do they do not a
so I mean the McCaffrey thing, I don't think it's
about the running back. I think it's more about splitting votes.
Is he more valuable than brock Purty? Of course, of
course there isn't a guy. You know, if you want
(18:19):
to say he's Alvin Kamara in the backfield, true, but
he's better than Alvin Kamara running the football. Derrick Henry
may be better at purely running the football. He can't catch,
can't make people miss, isn't his elusive, can't play out
in a pattern. He's not the same like Chris mccafy's
best running back. I'm okay with that. He's on the
best team. Reality is, he doesn't win it. It's not
because of the running back thing. It's because people are
(18:40):
massively over selling me on brock Purty, who's a really
good player. He's playing really well. But I mean, do
you really think he's better than Josh Allen? Do you
think he's better than Pat Mahomes. Do you think he's
better than Aaron Rodgers when he's healthy. Do we think
he's better than Lamar Jackson? Like, fuck, no, nobody thinks
(19:01):
he is. Do you Like? No, you just you just
did because he's mister relevant. No, it's because I have
a brain. It actually works, you know, and I've and
you're like, wow, you've been down on Rock Perdy. No,
I'm just a realist about it. He may be a
little bit better than I think, but hey, fine, he
does exactly what he's supposed to do. You know, him
(19:22):
make a play here at play that you're like, oh, well,
he makes his play and no one else can tell
me a play that he's made that no one else
in the NFL can make. I don't have one. I
don't have one. If we just want to do the
quarterback of the best team, fine, I mean, look, I
said the same thing about Jalen Hurts last year, and
(19:42):
his numbers were better, all right, but it's like, dude,
they got a dominant offense and dominant defense. They play
with the lead every game. Just I mean, just ask yourself, honestly,
take any of those top ten quarterbacks, Like, do you
think if Pat Mahomes played on the Niners any game
would be remotely close? Well that's not the point, Okay,
(20:06):
what is the point? The term is most valuable, which
really means best player in the NFL. And if you
line them all up, and you ask every GM and
every player in the NFL, who's the most value, who's
the best player having the best year this year? He
wouldn't make the top ten. That's what the Fox said.
(20:30):
All right, let's find out who are what is annoying
Bo Benson?
Speaker 1 (20:36):
And now it's your annoying.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
Bo.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
You have to sound like a curmudgeon. Yes, you have
to be bitter. Yes, you basically have to be Jason Stewart.
Speaker 6 (20:51):
Yeah, I'll try my best. That's a that's a big
Those are big shoots to Phil. I don't know if
you saw this over the weekend, but I think Schefter
tweeted out how Aaron Rodgers was filling in as a
scout team defensive back and he made a one handed
interception in practice. So it's a medical miracle and all
this stuff, and he's gonna be cleared to play. You know,
he's gonna be medically cleared. We don't need any more
(21:13):
updates on Aaron Rodgers' health status. He's not coming back.
The Jets, I believe, are officially eliminated from playoff contention now,
so he's not going to play. We do not need
any more updates about Aaron Rodgers. I don't want to
hear his name until it's the off season and we're
discussing if he's even gonna play again next year. I
am done hearing about Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Uh, you don't think he's gonna play.
Speaker 7 (21:34):
I do not think he's gonna play.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
I disagree. I absolutely think.
Speaker 6 (21:37):
Oh I just the Jets are eliminated. What that offensive
line is terrible? Why risk it? If you're him? I
think I think Rogers just loves having his name out
there and being talked about.
Speaker 7 (21:47):
But I do not think he's gonna play.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Okay, I mean, look, look, I think he's gonna play,
and I think he's just gonna play because people said
he can't play.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show week days at three pm Eastern noon Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
That's That's that's the Aaron Rodgers. Is the fact that
we keep updating it a little bit annoying, Yeah, a
little bit, a little bit.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
He he absolutely wants to be the guy that defied
medical science and returns And.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
I thought you just said thirty seconds ago he wasn't
gonna play that quick.
Speaker 6 (22:22):
I don't think he's going to. I don't think he's
going to, but I can understand that mindset. Okay, I
don't think he's going to give me another one.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (22:29):
Steph Curry had his three pointer streak in last night
against the Trailblazers at two hundred and sixty eight games.
That's such an annoying number to end on. Can we
just force feed him the ball for the last you know,
a couple of minutes. Just have him shoot threes, get
offensive rebound so he can keep it going at least
two seventy just that ending at two sixty eight. That's
just such an ugly number to end that streak on.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Okay, what else you have about?
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Let us?
Speaker 2 (22:52):
Yeah, I have one that I think you're gonna miss.
You're not gonna put in there, but okay, go ahead keep.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
The news came out yesterday that Ryan Coogler, the director
of A Black Panther, is going to reboot The X
Files for Disney. Uh, and people are mad about it.
Already having not seen or heard anything about you know,
who's going to be in it or what his role
is going to be in it. I just get so annoyed.
That people hate things before they even get a chance
to watch that one that I like, Yeah like that.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
What did you watch X Files back in the day, Yes,
I did.
Speaker 7 (23:19):
I love the X File.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Fly strikes close to home.
Speaker 6 (23:21):
Yeah, we don't have any of the good television shows
that we like watching now, like Breaking Bad or Better
Call Sault without the X Files. So I'm all game
for more X Files, especially when someone like Ryan Cougler.
Speaker 7 (23:31):
Wants to do it. Ryan Cougler has done what he
did Black Panther for Disney and the first one.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Of the second one.
Speaker 7 (23:38):
He did both of them.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Second one sucked.
Speaker 7 (23:39):
Yeah, that's fine, but he also did fruit Vale Station.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
It's one of those I like, crazy boke, crazy woman, empowerment,
and way too close to home when Black Panther, When
the actual human being Black Panther dies, it was like
they were in morning shooting the whole movie. It was.
It was a hard watch. It was one of those
I mean, honestly, one of those I would like my
(24:02):
money back. My son's favorite movie is Black Panther. He
hated the sequel. Hated the sequel. He's like, God, this
is awful. I was like, yeah, anyway, I got one
more that's annoying. Like, listen, if you're putting your name
in the transfer portal and you've never played a fucking
game for the school that you went to, and you
(24:23):
collected in an il check, right, there's a lot of
these guys like, oh, forever in my heart A what's
it called?
Speaker 4 (24:28):
Like?
Speaker 2 (24:29):
No, it's not okay. Here's the deal, especially when you're
a freshman and or you haven't played. Some of these
guys have basically red shirted, not played. Some of them played.
I don't care how long you played. You play and
you still have eligibility, and you leave and go to
another school, you're no longer a part of that school.
You don't say I'm forever. I'm not forever a part
of Notre Dame. And you're like, well, you've got in trouble.
(24:51):
That's why you left. No matter I played, I was
a starting point guard. I have a letterjack and everything.
I still get emails from the Notre Dame club. But
you know what, I don't do it. I don't claim
forever in my heart Notre Dame. You know why cause
I left. And I'm just telling you that's how they
view you. And if you don't think this is a
life lesson. I'll give you the real deal. Here's the
(25:14):
real deal. When you leave a company in real life,
even when you leave in great standing, the second you
walk out of the door, about a couple of weeks later,
everybody talks shit about you. You know why, because you're
not forever. You don't forever work for Xerox, you don't
forever work for whatever pharmaceutical company. You don't forever work
for ESPN or CBS.
Speaker 5 (25:32):
I know.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Like, I worked ESPN for ten years, lived in Bristol
or Bristol area for nine years. I left with a
five year deal on the table. I was like, man,
it's terrible. You got like a little fiefdom here. It's
super cool. I left like six months later. I checked in, Like, dude,
people talks so much shit. You know why, because they
wish they left. Okay, but I listen. If you want
(25:58):
to transfer, that's your right. If you want to leave
and say a note of thanks, also a good thing.
Stop with thee forever, and also can we stop with
the God's plan. God's got a lot of things on
his plate, right, pretty big conflict in the Middle East.
That shit's going on, right, I don't know what side
of what side of God you're on? You know, based
(26:20):
upon religion. I think this one's a pretty easy call
who you should side with in this one. You got that,
you got world hunger, you have the climate, you have
what's going on in China. You got to like all
different sorts of things, just basic human interest. If you
think God gives a damn about what school you went to, like,
(26:44):
He's like, I got a different plan for you or she,
however you want to look at God doesn't matter to me.
And this is not about your religion. This is about
the ego that a young human being can have. And
frank of all the egos that we all have, to
think that God actually cares what I love do I'd
love to believe God is a benevolent god, of course
(27:06):
I do. Do I want to have God in my
life and in my heart. Yes? Do I think He
has a plan for my career, especially in my playing career. No,
you know, God has a plan. Like He's sitting there
going like, Okay, so I'm gonna do is He's gonna
go to Carolina's first year, but Mack's not gonna play.
I'm then I'm gonna transfer and then he's gonna play
it like a lower level and then he's gonna transfer
to Alabama. Then last year that's gonna get drafted the NFL,
(27:28):
and then he gets the NFL and hold on hole.
My plan is I'm gonna make him get hurt his
third game because that's all my part of my plan.
Then he rehabs, then he gets it, and then he
makes it to the end like no stop and I
will get I will I at least get a couple
of tweets like, how dare you talk about God that way?
Speaker 4 (27:44):
No?
Speaker 2 (27:44):
How dare you talk about God that way? I think
about that for a second. You actually think God gives
a shit about your football career and where you play.
How out of control is your ego? And how out
of control are all of us in thinking that God
actually cares about where a kid goes to college because
he's going to get more nil. Get over yourself. It's
(28:06):
very simple, Hey man, I really want to thank the
assistant that recruited me, the head coach that gave me
the opportunity, the athletic director, the support staff, everybody who
helped me during my time at pick University. But as
of this time, despite the fact that I really enjoyed
my time at pick the University. I'm gonna put myself
in the portal and on the greater things. I truly
(28:28):
appreciate my time at Pick the University. That's it. It's
not God's plan. Okay, it is just not God. He
she they it whatever yahweh does not care. And oh yeah,
by the way, you are not forever a Tarhel cowboy, sooner, Trojan, cougar.
Whatever you leave, you're done. Don't let the door hit you,
(28:55):
by the way, that is very easily by.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Why are we doing this?
Speaker 4 (29:01):
I do.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Because we can. Okay, Okay, did you guys see did
you guys see the end of the Browns game?
Speaker 7 (29:10):
Yes? I did. It was very exciting and very fun.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
I guess, I guess. I mean the Browns have one
guy the ball goes right through his hands and then
they throw a hail Mary in the end zone. And
who is the wide receiver, Nick kop who was on
his back, who was just on his.
Speaker 7 (29:25):
Back like Mooney, Darnell Mooney.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Darnell Mooney. Yes, literally hit bounce off and hit him
in the hands, right, And it's one of those like
it's one of those things that I think every kid.
You know, my son's now fourteen, but when he from
the time he was like five and even now, we'll
do it like love diving catches, hail Mary catches, Moss
catches I did like you come up and everyone imagines
(29:50):
that moment. Matt Davison is I believe he's the color
analyst for Nebraska football and maybe not in football anymore.
I think Adam Cherricters is one as well. Mad Davison
has one of the greatest catches in college football history.
Caught the ball against Colorado in a rivalry game, like
between his legs or maybe his Missouri is one of
the two. Anyway, everybody dreams of making that catch. But
(30:14):
the ball caroms off of the hail Mary guys. And
who's the wide receiver again, sorry, Darnell Moody. Darnell Moody.
It hits him in the hands and he drops it
while he's laying on the ground. Here's his teammate, David
and Joku. Uh excuse me, that was he plays for
(30:35):
the Bears. Here's Brown's tight end, David and Joku, who
was watching the play at the time.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
Luckily, our defense made an interceptional play, you know.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Uh, sealed the game, and that was it. It's one
of those things he didn't and betters nearly shipped themselves. Everybody,
it's it's the it's the greatest expression there is. Right,
that's a great I nailed it. But think about that
for a second, like ball in the air and you're
on the sideline, completely powerless. This, also, by the way,
(31:06):
is interesting because every defensive back coach, every coach ever
has told their defense knock it down right. You're talking,
don't catch the ball, knock it down. Well, you knocked
it down right to a guy who's laying on the ground.
The Bears nearly caught it. Why we playing for you
because we can. Let's get to our pick of the day.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Okay, sir, the bet is to you, baby, It's time
for the pick of the day.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
All right, to pick of the day comes to you
from the National the National Football League. The Eagles should
be massively better than the Seahawks. So why are they
just a three and a half point favorite in Seattle
tonight in the rain? Well, that's because we don't know
if Jalen Hurts is gonna play, right, We don't know
if Jalen Hurts is gonna play. In addition to the
(31:53):
fact that the Eagles have been beaten up a little
bit these past couple weeks. Now, Gino Smith may not
play either, Right, I don't think Jalen Hurts plays tonight,
and I don't think it matters if Gino Smith plays
the night either. You're like Drew Locke, really yes in
a one game scenario. True, there's not that much difference
between Gino Smith and Drew lock. There's a massive difference
between Jalen Hurts And who's Jalen Hurts back up anyway?
Speaker 7 (32:15):
Marcus Mariota.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Marcus Mariota, that's a pretty proven guy. But man, did
he bail last year when things got rough in Atlanta? Huh? Look,
I just think Seattle at home, that'll be a zoo.
They need to win. And Philadelphia is a little bit
of wounded right now and they're just not the same
when they don't have Jalen Hurts. Is that value? Talk
(32:37):
about value to them? And I don't think Jalen Hurts
is a top five pure quarterback, But I mean, how
many games have they won on the tush push? A
lot of it's Jason Kelcey, A lot of it's Jalen Hurts.
They literally won games because they get more first downs
on fourth and one than anybody else in the league
with one single play, and then they got a couple
options off it. I am not I am not buying
(33:02):
that Jalen Hurts plays, and I'm not buying that they
went on the road without Jalen Hurts and I and
being a three and a half point dog. That is
an easy That's an easy one. If it was two
and a half, it'd be a lot harder. But you
give me a field goal and a hook, give me
the Seahawks. That's my pick of the day. All right.
