(00:56):
video I just posted at Covido on Rich. I was
Sam walks in the studio and he starts doing the
air yo yo saying that he has yo yo skills
and I don't know why just looking at your face.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Io was Sam makes me laugh.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
It started because he said he went to the park
to walk the dog, and I asked him, oh.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Do yo yo? Do you have yo yo tricks? Is
that what you mean?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Get it walking the dog? And he's like no, So
he started doing that and it's funny as hell. You
could see it at Covino and rich Iowa. Sam is
on the ones and twos.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
What up?
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Sam? He did?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
He does look like a competitive yo yo or yes,
he probably is, and and he listens to yo Yo Ma.
He told me that's the name my yo yo.
Speaker 6 (01:39):
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Me and Ma go down to the park dog.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Danny g is super producing at eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. The Spot's got your midweek major this
hour and DB's here. We're glad you're here.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
The funniest part of the video is that the end,
Big Mike WHU runs his place.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Who walks in? He's like, wor's going on here? Yes,
it's not just Sam pretending to do the air yo yo.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
But I hope you had a great Tuesday and La
Lucas sort of Tuesday Lakers sort of Tuesday Night. Man
watched that whole game and I was on one of
what two point five million that tuned in, Yeah, to
see the Lakers beat the Mavericks and to see a
rejuvenated Lebron James and.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Most watched NBA games so far this season.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
That's wild how the stats are in. But nineteen points
for Luca, everybody rallied around him, and as Colin said,
it looks like JJ Reddick found the code, the Lebron
code because Lebron has a quarterback now because lucas a
great passer. You see how that works with Lebron, And
they look pretty they look pretty rejuvenated. They look like
(02:48):
straight up contenders now with Luca Doncheck.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Well, I mean it was a great game, but if
you listened to yesterday show, I was the idiot. It's
like over I thought Luca was gonna light it up.
He did what six or seventeen from nineteen point? Yeah,
I did have a great shoot.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
Yeah, I filled the stat sheet, but they had double
team on him the entire Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
I should have thought of that, but I lost our
parlay yesterday.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Dann Bayer, I'll give him credit.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
He said, uh yeah, he said maybe the Mavericks would
cover and Luca on the under. I should have take
DB's word. But yeah, the competitive game. It was in Vegas.
Growing off in the fourth quarter just shows you. I mean,
I'm not saying anything about a fix, but Vegas is
so good. Sometimes the points spread was eight and a
half or nine, depending on where you looked.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Lakers one by eight.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
Yeah, there was this tiki tac foul on Luca at
the end of the game, and that changed things for
people who gambled.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
So since we brought it up, you know, Luca with
the win, that had to feel good. They were cheering,
thank you Nico.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Thank you Nico, and he.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Stared him down one of the greatest photo. I don't
know if you saw that photo. Of course that was great,
and the story leading up to it was that he
had Luca bought free parking for the fans across the street.
I don't know if Spot's gonna talk about that in
midweek Major either that or he's right.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
I won't. I won't have time for it. Now.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Put that in your midweek MA, you know what, keep
it there because we're gonna get to all those stories
coming up. But last night, while you were watching the Lakers,
I did as well. But after that, just a heads up,
Danny g and I've been talking about this show. I
swear by my words here. Paradise on Hulu, episode seven,
the most recent episode, could very well be the most
(04:36):
action packed, stressful, awesome episode of a show since Game
of Thrones, Red Wedding. Come on, dude, Danny, have you
watched the most recent No, I'm not caught up, bro.
I'm telling you watch the Night with Brenda. You're gonna
love it. It's really a fantastic show since Greg Brady
lost his talisman in Hawaii since then. No, when you
(05:00):
talk about when you're talking about best episodes of a
show ever, I promise you anyone that's watching Paradise with Sterling,
Kate Brown, James Marsden, Danny, watch episode seven and please
text me immediately when your heart's pounced.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Since uh night Ryder was on different strokes, there's a
great episode.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Since I know your favorite episode was when Maggie saw
her father the ghost of him on the treadmill.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, growing pints. Yeah, that was a good one. No
way you're saying it's up there with those classic episodes.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Paradise Hulu well worth in my favorite show on TV
since Shrinking. That was the last one we were both in.
Speaker 6 (05:35):
Again on yesterday, we talked about the latest season of
Love Is Blind for a minute, rich we forgot to
talk about the dude on there who admitted to his
addiction to ibprofen.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Yeah. I don't want to downplay like anyone's addiction, but
he made it seem like I was, like, he's addicted
to what?
Speaker 1 (05:52):
First? I took four? That was his nig dramatic story. Yeah,
joints feels so good. I was up to six, and
then a couple of weeks later I took eight of them.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah, I mean, listen, I don't want to downplay any
drug addiction, but it did seem a bit like that's okay.
Speaker 7 (06:06):
Well I get it, though, I mean, geez, if you
away those aches and pains, I get it.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
My goodness, I didn't know i'd be Profen was habit
for me. I didn't know that either.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
Well, freeness of it is what's the I want to
see what twenty of those feel like.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Geez, well, be careful out there with your advil and
tail and all.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Now I want to change gears for a second. We
are going to get to mid week. May you want
to tell us about your flintstone vitamin problem? Rich Or Nook, I.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Took four your mega dosing issues getting out of here.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
But you know what I feel like part of my
knock on wood, trying to stay healthy.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Vitamin D. I've been taking a vitamin.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
A little vitamin D pill every day since the COVID
days when everyone's like, you know, everyone's vitamin dute deficient.
I've been taking every day and again, knock on what.
All these people are gross and I feel good. I
pointed to you when I said, rinking that horseworm.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Medication too, Richard, what everyone was taking I've met Joe
Rogan told me anyway, stuff.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Let me give you every let me give everyone a
great tip.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
No, thank you.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
So my son plays t ball. I've talked about this.
We're all in that same boat. If you're living that
mom or dad life. Your kids are playing t ball
and softball, gymnastics, dance, soccer, flag football. We're a sports network, kids.
Sports will dominate your time if you let it. But
(07:31):
something was presented to the Little League. I keep saying
little League. It's actually pony ball. My son is in
west Hill's pony Ball out here in Los Angeles, and
they presented an opportunity that I thought was awesome.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
May I think eighteenth or sixteenth.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
One of those days, there's the game where pony ball
and Little league are invited to Dodger Stadium where the
kids could walk the field before the game and the
players give them high fives and a couple of autographs
here and there.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
When I was a.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Kid, I would have prayed to do something like that. Imagine,
did you walk around Yankee Stadium as a kid?
Speaker 1 (08:13):
No? Did I walk around Chase Stadium as a kid?
Speaker 3 (08:17):
No?
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Way, didn't even seem like a possibility.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
So I know a lot of the little leagues and
the pony ball leagues out here in LA do that
with the Dodgers, and I just feel like my kids
are gonna have so much fun doing it. So if
they offer that in Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Texas, New York, Philly, Atlanta,
if your team has Little League pony Ball Day where
kids could participate in this, I feel like you'rer obligation.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
As a dad or mom to do it.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Oh absolutely, man. I always my only reference to anything
close to that is in the Bad News Bears when
they played at the Astronome.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Yeah, because I was like, how do they do that?
Speaker 2 (08:55):
They played little league games in a major league field,
get out of here. But just the possibility of ever
even stepping foot on a major league field to me
was so not possible as a kid.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
That's amazing.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
So if your kids in T ball, little league, pony ball, whatever.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
They're doing, my first step on a major league field
was with you when we were invited to City Field. Yeah,
got to go work for We worked for SNY home
of the Mets and Jets and all things in New
York sports.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
Because we worked for the network, we got to go
on the field and hang and stuff.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
So I had to work for the network to get
my stupid foot on the field. Your son, all I
guess to do is pick his nose.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
We're walking around in the middle of may Dodger Stadium,
Dan Bayer.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Did they do this in Milliawauk? Like, I feel like
this is something I see so many little kids do
I ever did?
Speaker 7 (09:40):
I don't know, you know, in my hometown at the
time was about four hours from Milwaukee, so it wasn't
really realistic at that point, but they may have. I
feel like kids have been more accessible over the last
twenty five years to stuff like that than I remember
covering the Brewers twenty some years ago, and then ever
Sunday was run the Bass Day where the fans line
(10:02):
up at first base like they just walk down the
seats and down to the field and then they could
run around to home and then they just exit back up.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
That's a stream.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
And the way I'm doing that is if I'm streaking
or if I'm jumping in like.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Where am I going to get that? Most people only
do that and then get arrested.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Right, Actually, that's not my dream anyway, Rich, So good
for your kids, because I still want to ride around
on a horse like Wade Bogs.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
That's that's my face. Your fan held my finger out
on a horse.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Well, you have his hairline, wad Bog have an old
school Wade Box hairline.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
That's true. Yes, before the two peg Waid Bogs. So
just a reminder. We can move on.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
But if your baseball team in your city provides this
day or days for the kids, I can't see why
your little son or daughter.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Wouldn't have such joy in this.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
I can't wait to walk my little boy around Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
And then again, do they really know how special it is.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
It's only special to you because you've never done it,
and it always like a fantasy. I'm just saying, for
conversation's sake, do you really think your son is going
to be like, this is unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
I don't know he should. You hope he does.
Speaker 7 (11:10):
You're going to get a kick out of it as well,
because then you'll start to remember the what happened in
those certain spots. I don't know if you guys get
in the style of course, sit there and think of
this play happened where.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
Freddy Freeman did his famous bat flip. I'm not even joking.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
What you just described is something I acted out one
of my few fun moments. I went on the field
that Chase Stadium in o Wait before they tore it down.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I have a picture of me. Yeah, but you fell
in because you drank too much. Right then you just
stumble in. Yeah, I got to go on.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
Actually, he took a line drive to the head and
he passed out and fell into the field. I got
to go behind the first base bag and I had
my glove uppy.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I put the gloves down like I was Bill Buckner, sure,
and then I went to the left field wall and
jumped up where Andy Chavez tried to make the catch.
I tried to reenact. Oh, that's some fun moments in
Matt's history. So I think it's pretty cool that again,
if you have that opportunity with your kids, doesn't need
to be Dodgers or pensive.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Your son ben to where where they'd never got a
no hitter before. When Johan Santana let up the double
was it wasn't no hitter. You could tell you know,
this is where the double happened. Right there, it was
a no hitter.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
No, it wasn't.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
You can show them there was no reflay back then,
there was no hitter. You could show them that legendary moment.
So but that's not that's so cool, man. I wish
I had that opportunity. So anyway, just forget I throw
it out there because it's that time.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Of year where Little League and pony Ball and all
this stuff is starting in so many cities across the
country that if they offer that day, like, hey, we're
gonna do a day at the stadium, I promise you
I feel like your kids would love it. If not,
you know what, you'd love it seeing through your kid's eyes.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
The end.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Now, the NFL, let's go to football for a second.
Every year the NFL has been doing this, and I
think it's great. I feel there to be nothing more
honest when blind surveys are taken amongst teams and they
get to tell the truth.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
One thousand, six hundred and ninety five NFL players provided
feedback about their teams, and it's the twenty twenty five
NFL Team report Card. Basically which teams have the most
favorable atmospheres, locker rooms, clubhouses, family accommodations, that sort of stuff.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
I'll tell you what I'm gonna be truthful with you.
I've worked for companies, not this one. We've never been
given the opportunity here at Fox Sports Radio. But I
worked at companies where they're like, hey, fill out this
like employee survey and tell us what you really think.
And my first thought is, I'm not telling you that.
You'll you think. I don't think you could track it
(13:41):
to me. I get all like weird about that, Like,
fill out this survey. How do you really feel about
you serious SEXM or ESPN. No way, am I gonna
be honest.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
You've exposed the coffee here and live on the air before.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Though coffee here is awful, But I will say I
love that these players, they have nothing to lose, and
it is a it is a blind survey, as I
say it, right, So these guys get to rate the facilities,
how the organizations treat families, how they handle free agency,
how they handle everything and Cavino.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Head coach, ownership, everything, team, team travel, yeah, weight rooms,
all that.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
So on your report card and give it back tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
What do we got? What teams are? And here's you got?
Speaker 3 (14:24):
What you got to ask yourself? Also, is it consistent
with success? Meaning are players on successful teams always going
to be happiest? Is it almost like, you know, if
your team stinks, like there's just a general sense of
un happiness or are there sometimes like.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
All the team stinks but they treat you well.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
I don't know if there's a lot of correlation, because
didn't the Chiefs get a bad rating, Like the Chiefs
were like the bottom of the.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
List, the bottom of the season.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Yeah, right, So I don't know if there's a correlation
to like, yeah, bad team, bad atmosphere.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Good team.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Would also argue that if you're on a successful, winning team,
that you demand more out of your facilities, which means
you may give them a lower grade from the get
go like one may.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Feed the other.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Well, the Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, and the Vikings were
the only teams to get an a plus for head
coach and ownership, so they were the only teams to
get a plus in that area. But the gist of
the whole story here is that when it comes to
favorable atmospheres overall, the Dolphins scored the best and the
(15:26):
Cardinals scored the worst.
Speaker 7 (15:29):
What I think is interesting with the Cardinals portion of it,
and you'll see this with other teams. The Cardinals are
a family business. It's been in the bidwell business for
so long. You look at some of the other family
business teams. It's maybe not all of them, but Steelers
Chiefs where we think like, oh, Rooney family, Hunt family,
you guys just mentioned.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, the legacy.
Speaker 7 (15:50):
Yes, absolutely, they know football, and their ratings aren't as
high as Yeah, some of the I don't want to
say newer owners because Arthur Blank's been there a while
and you know, Ziggie Wolf's beend in Minnesota for a while.
But some of the like the longer franchises, are really
behind the times in keeping their players happy with things,
(16:11):
which I thought was interest.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
That's a great observation, dB. You would think you're right.
You think these legacy teams with you know, owners for
you know, not centuries but generations that Man Covino, they
must have it on lock, but they don't. And not
to pull it back to my Mets. It's a different
sport and everything. But what is the big thing that
every free agent talks about when they say the Mets
(16:32):
since Steve Cohen took over, how they treat the families
and how they how they are as people, and that
means more. Don't you feel like that means more now
than ever in any sport? Like it's because they all
make so much money, I think more so now there's
an emphasis on how are they to my wife and kids?
Speaker 1 (16:50):
How are the facilities, how are the trainers? Like these
all these but I think they mean more. Would you
agree that they mean more now than ever?
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Seems that way, I mean, but I think that we
as fans don't always factor that in as as a
reason as to why these players want to be there. Lifestyle,
how they treat their kids. I mean, the Dolphins matter.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
The Dolphins haven't had a really great run right well,
one postseason appearance in the last couple of years. The
Dolphins aren't, you know, winning double digit games every year.
McDaniel's a likable coach, ownership treats him well.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
Before that, there was the the rub with Brian Flores
and all that, which wasn't enough.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Friends.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
The Dolphins, like we said, they scored pretty much the best.
They got a's across the board. Yeah, when you're doing
a quick glance, like your your kid's report card, I
was gonna say, Amy Dolphins, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:42):
Yeah, at a glance, the top eleven team Sarah, Packers, Saints, Ravens, Commanders, Texans, Raiders, Chargers, Broncos, Falcons, Vikings, Dolphins, and.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
At a glance, the lowest scores you see at a
glance from the top eleven, the Commanders in the training
room got a C plus.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
That's kind of low.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Everybody's A and B everything and team travel C plus
for the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
And then when you dive into that stuff everything else,
maybe then you realize, like the stuff that we don't know,
Dan Byer like, some teams have such better accommodations than others.
I remember watching a documentary about the forty nine ers,
and it was that Joe Montana did Joe cool documentary
Bill Walsh and Eddie de Bartelow and that ownership in
(18:27):
the Niners back in the day. They made sure the
forty nine ers had the best high class, first class
planes and facilities and stated's the best hotels like they
treated the forty nine ers stars like the Montanas and
Ronnie Watts and Steve Young's and they treated them like stars.
Speaker 7 (18:45):
The Patriots have their own plane and the players ripped
it like they were not happy. You look at New England.
New England was thirty first out of thirty two teams.
And we're talking about Bob Kraft and going to the
Hall of Fame and doing all this stuff for all
the wins and stuff like that. But this stuff is
is what is you know, tells a lot tye.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Opening and you know, you're trying to figure out why,
why in the world Stafford would want to leave l
A or how could that even be a possibility.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
They didn't even make the top eleven here, But the
Raiders did.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
I know it's I know it's a trend in workplaces now,
but there's a commonality between the two places.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
You and I were wit Danny.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Danny's Raiders were a's across the board a few a minuses.
When it comes to again head coach team travel.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Locker room, they get an eight plus plus in handsome ownership.
Handsome ownership to be Tom Brady, Tom Brady Davis brought
it down. It's just but the two places you and
I have worked and the commonality between.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Bennigan's and Wendy's. What two places are you talking about?
Did we did work there?
Speaker 3 (19:49):
They right, guys closurize and listen to Eddie, Welcome to Wendy's.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Can I take your order?
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (19:55):
That's you man? That was my start.
Speaker 7 (19:57):
Did Wendy's get an edge because everybody on the headset
so they know what you get?
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Drive through?
Speaker 7 (20:02):
I saw a fast food show about it that said,
that's why Wendy's is so quick.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Damn Byer. I was the master of the drive through.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
In fact, actually Rich only wore that because Britney Spears
wore one and he changed the culture of Wendy's.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
I changed the culture of drive throughs. So people don't
know that. Yeah, Dave Thomas and I had a meeting.
But the one thing that I do love about Fox
Sports Radio and our other part time stuff and stuff
we do with serious ExM Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
That the narrative of like, hey, listen.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
If you need a day to do something with your kids,
do it and think about that. As far as teams go,
we talked about how teams treat wives and family.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
That is so important. It makes you feel good.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
Yeah, like if you if it's one thing to preach
like we're a family, but to actually act like it
and really deliver on it, that's another thing too. Will
say those things, but they don't mean it.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
If you're a hard.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Worker, which we we come in here every day and
try to have a lot of fun, you know, when
not taking days off random we were not. We're showing
up here every single day. If you told the boss, hey,
my daughter's got to recite all I gotta leave a
little early one day, he's a.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Type of guy that'll be like absolutely yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
And that makes you want to work harder when you're here,
you know, right, so that you can do things like that.
Those things do matter. And again, if you just joined us,
Cavino and Rich going over the NFL the twenty twenty
five NFL team report cards and the other category, cops
to the Dolphins and Cardinals need to step their game up.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
The other category I think is super.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Important is the facilities and the gyms and stuff, because
these guys are trying to stay healthy through a seventeen game,
eighteen week schedule. And when you have weak ass facilities,
and like remember in Major League where they the ice
tubs and the hot tubs didn't work. These damn you
need to have great facilities. And I think that's another thing.
(21:49):
If you were a player, my priorities would be besides
how much money you pay me, you gotta.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Treat my family good.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
And you're gonna take care of my body as a
player on your team. And those two categories are clearly
obvious in the in the.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Service yep, so props again and I wish, yeah, I
wish we had no I don't wish we had these,
but I guess you get some honest results and you
can make some good changes out of this. So maybe
it's an eye opener for the Cardinals to be like, yeah,
we need to step our facility.

Speaker 5 (24:26):

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Say, that's comment. We definitely feature see it. Our score
Midweek Major.
Speaker 6 (24:39):
I gotta go quick because we got to give spot
seven full minutes, right now before we hand things over
to the number one and only hosted the segment we
love to roll the two big red love dice in
the main studio.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
I rolled your sticky red love dice, Danny G I
rolled the ten, so.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
I frustratedly just dropped them and got a six.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
You're up first. That means Calino gets first take.
Speaker 6 (25:01):
Yeah, and now, ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person
besides Judy Bloom from Scotch Playing's New Jersey Spotty Boy.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
All right, I'll give you a few more details, so
we jump right in that story that you mentioned earlier
when you stole it from me. Luca and the Lakers
took on his ex, the MAVs last night, beating them
one oh seven to ninety nine. While this was the
first time Luca faced the MAVs, he certainly knew how
to win over the new LA fan base. And that's
my offering a free parking parking, which is a very
scarce thing here in LA. As fans flocked to Crypto
(25:31):
dot Com Arena for the game, they were met with
a sign that read free parking courtesy of Luca, which
I thought was cool.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
The lot was across from.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
La li which is where dot Com Arena is, and
fans expressed their gratitude on social Lucas spoke after the game,
saying he faced some emotions facing his old team, but
he goes little by little and every day is better.
Midweker major nineteen points. Nice win, rejuvenated team. I'm loving it,
but I have questions.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Okay, like Mark Anthony, I need to know, you know,
on The Bachelor, when the Bachelor provides all these fun dates,
but it's really not the Bachelor doing it. He just
goes to the network and he says, yeah, can you
get me a cake for this girl? And I want
to take her on a helicopter ride?
Speaker 3 (26:11):
When the girl's like, oh my god, this ring and
it's like, yeah, provided by the show.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Yeah. Does Luca really pay for parking for everybody?
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Or does he go to the Lakers and say, you know,
I want to do something for the fans. Can we
write this off? Hey a Genie Buss, can you expense
this for me? Just coordinates for me.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
To the story him and who is a Jordan Brand? Yeah,
I was gonna I was gonna say I paid for
it out of their own pockets.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Well, then I think is cool I think it's a
great way to win people over. We always say kill
them with kindness. Here on the show when we were
the new guys, you're bringing donuts all the time.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
People love you wild.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
This is his version of given donuts and Buffalo Wild
wings to all the fans who love them already.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Jumpman also is a major story. Pargeting cheap. Yeah, parking
is not cheap as you want. It's like one hundred
and twenty dollars in some of those locks, and you
want him to have a great relationship with the fans.
I also think it's major, definitely major.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
And by the way, it reminds us that we do
we owe people food around here. It's been a minute,
it's been a minute.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
We all people still like us. Let's bring some pizza
on Friday.
Speaker 5 (27:11):
When's Kelvin gonna buy us Kelvin's new when's he gonna
buy us wings?
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Yeah, you know what, Let's let's get some food on Friday.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Oh get it, Calvin.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
You know, I think Luca we underestimate what a shock
it was to him. He at first thought it was
a prank. He had bought a fifteen million dollar estate
in Dallas. He thought his future was there, So it
took him a minute emotionally to really figure out what
was going on. So the fact that he's in it
to win it now with Lebron, I feel like we've
had a minute to settle in. It's major step one
(27:38):
win over the fans.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
Let's go all right's thick him with the last night's game.
I thought this was cool side story. Klay Thompson had
a chance to honor the doctor that helped him get
back on his feet following his torn achilles in the
twenty twenty twenty twenty one season. He returned to the
court last night or actually sorry, He returned to the
court after a two and a half half year hiatus
in twenty twenty two, went on to lead the Help
Lead the Warrior to his fourth championship with the franchise
(28:02):
will He credits doctor Richard Ferkele with playing an instrumental
role and getting back on the court, and last night
after the game decided to present him with that fourth
championship ring, which he credits the doctor helping him get
back on his feet. Was Yeah, it was a nice
little thing that the ring itself has sixteen carrots worth
of yellow and white diamonds, so God only knows how
much it's worth. But a nice little gesture to the
(28:23):
guy that helped him get back midweek or.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Major, it's so major, but because it's a foot doctor,
it was actually a toe ring.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
A lot of people don't know that.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Ye shut up, No, man, I think that's so cool, Like,
what a gesture he gets a ring the guy. That's incredible.
We saw two great honors last night. We saw Anthony
Davis honored by the Lakers fans, a cool montage, everybody
giving him his due. And for Clay to acknowledge his
doctor in this way, that's incredible.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
I mean, I can't follow up a toe ring joke
next that off? All right?
Speaker 5 (28:56):
John Travis Kelcey, this is a little bit IROLLI, but
deal with it revealed the key to getting over his
Super Bowl blues after the loss of the Ces, and
you guess it, it's by listening to his girlfriend's songs
perfect for a breakup or any sort of downtime. Listen
to Taylor Swift on this week's New Heights pod. He
said that he listens to music that is very telling
of his mood, and I just listen to Taylor's music
(29:17):
she has something for everything. He expressed his disappointment and
his performance in the Big Game, and despite speculation about
him returning or retirement, the Chiefs GM announced that the
organization expects him to be back next season Midweek or
Major Major.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Kelsey related, I wonder do the Chiefs want him back?
He played so ass in the Super Bowl. I think
he's a great guy. I just wonder. And as far
as the music thing, look, I'm a music lover. The
fact that he can relate to any music is cool
with me. I just I use music in a different way.
If I'm feeling down, I want music to lift my spirits,
not match my spirits. I think you crying, you know,
(29:55):
to the music listening to it. So I think it's
such a lame thing. I do that I've dumb different
than you. I'm saying great when I'm sad, I want
to listen to sad music. When I'm happy, I want
to listen to happy music.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Listen. I want music to save my crappy movie. I
think I should just sing to him.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
I was gonna say, lives right like a caapella.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Why did he he can? Just man? I was sam
you how do I follow up? I was Sam's good idea.
All right.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
Well, uh, Kelsey's teammate Patrick Mahomes coping with his loss
in a slightly different way, and that's by trimming down
his signature locks.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
I don't know if you saw it.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
Mahomes was seen earlier this week as he watched his
former college, Texas Tech lose to the Houston Cougars. More
loss in his life, but his barber spoke out and
said that Mahomes told him when he showed up after
the Super Bowl loss, he said, just cut it off.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
First, he thought he was. He was skeptical of it,
but he.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
Explained that Mahomes was frustrated with his performance and it
said it was time for a new look.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
His barber, uh, time for newk gave him a nice
short cut.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
So if you see it, it's like a very cropped,
little curl thing.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Used to that.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
No more, no more worse thing, no more fade flop
over the top of that head bend major major, because
I look at Mahomes as a trend setter, and he's
one of the og broccoli heads, one of the og
alpaca boys, and he started a burst fade broccoli.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Head sort of trend that so many kids. You see
the kids at the gym, the Opaca boys, that's outpad.
Maybe now we start seeing less of that because he
trimmed it up.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
But I think it's a great move forward. Hate the
name drop.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
But we had Lenny Kravitz on our show one time
and he had just cut his dreads off, Like why'd
you do it?
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Man?
Speaker 2 (31:30):
He's like, just needed a new vibe about me, new energy.
I feel different. It's a different vibe, and I buy
into that. It's a new hymn. He has to wash
that loss out of his system and move forward with
a new look.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
After looking at the photo, this is a week story. Wow,
because he tells the burst fade. He just cut it
a little shorter.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
You know what's hold on?
Speaker 3 (31:52):
You know what significant? You know when someone gets a
haircut and they're like.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
I've made a big change, and you're like, I don't
really even notice it. I don't even know. It's not
like I took a three. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
A couple of sam came in. He has a greasier haircut. Yeah,
you went from afro to greaser guy.
Speaker 5 (32:06):
Rich you cut your We called him your side poofs,
your like side hair. You cut it down to a
nice fade.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
It was change Rich had like like a Mel Gibson
mixed with Larry from his Three Stages haircut. And you
know you mentioned that a lot cooler since you got
your haircut.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
I think it's significant you think this is a way different.
Speaker 5 (32:24):
Yeah, oh my god, you don't see enough on the
job sometimes Rich your gardener.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
It's like pruning a bush. I know you got it out.
Speaker 5 (32:31):
Have you seen his rose bushes? Do I have time
for one more? Because I feel like this will resonate
with you. Yes, you love Jordan's, but not as quite
as active as you used to be.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
This is for you.
Speaker 5 (32:40):
Yeah, your luck. Nike and the Jordan brand are expanding
their footwear line. Obviously we know they're huge with basketball.
I've expanded into baseball and football. Well, now your old
ass can enjoy Jordan brand walking shoes.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
This is me.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
Yes. In this spring, the brand is said to the
view a new sneaker known as the Jordan's CMFT era.
The top silhouette is intended to deliver long lasting comfort
while walking, will be heavily inspired by the Jordan the
Air Jordan one model and also use elements from the air,
Jordan's six, which is the one that he won his
champ first championship in the two styles which have that
(33:15):
like Chicago Bulls kind of look to them. Set to debut,
like I said, in Spring, with a price tag of
one hundred and fifteen dollars Midweek or Major.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
This is so major because it goes to show you
how old everybody's getting. They're offering Jordan walking shoes. Now,
I'll take the land. Jordan's Jordan, Now the Jordan old
guys shoes. Guys shoes, You're not marriny. Jordan cataract glass
is coming soon. Like he's gonna have a whole lot
of old people's stuff. That's wild. I think it's major,
and I'll tell you why.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
Spot pointed out a meme the other day that said,
it's hard to accept the fact that people that were
in their forties when Jordan won are now in their seventies.
So this is perfectly going along with this brand. If
you were forty ish when Jordan was winning, you're in
your seventies now feel old. Jet Thank you, Spot, thank
you guys. Let's go to day Fire for an update.
(34:01):
That's a weird thought, right, If your parents are their seventies.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
They were.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
If you're forty ish, you were your parents. Agrian Jordan
was winning.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
I don't hate on walking shoes either. They are super light.
They are a magnificent feel on your feet.
Speaker 7 (34:12):
The NFL making some changes to the league and some
of the rules entering twenty twenty five. NFL plans and
using an electronic system to measure first downs next season.
This following experimental use in the twenty twenty four preseason.
Troy Vincent league executive also said today the league may
be considering changing the overtime rules, feeling that the team
(34:33):
right now in the regular season that wins the toss
has much more of an advantage to win the game.
The NFL, by the way, looks to expand replay assists
to include penalties. The possible new system wouldn't review penalties
that are missed, rather only review penalties that were called
on the field. So for us crying about missed face masks,
the NFL wouldn't be able to review those with replay
(34:54):
assist because there was no penalty on the field calling
the face masky Fox NFL in sider Jordan schultzays Rams
quarterback Matthew Stafford met with Raiders minority owner Tom Brady
at his home in Montana, as Brady tried to convince
Stafford to join him in Las Vegas. Nowers GM John
Lynch says though honor wide receiver Deebo Samuel's trade request,
he's likely on his way out of San Francisco. Packers
(35:15):
have had talks about trading corner JayR Alexander Titan shopping,
Harold Landry, Saints gim Mickey Loomis is Derek car will
be the team's QB one to start next season. Danny
mentioned the great ratings from TMT last night. Two and
a half million viewers watched last night Mavericks Lakers game
on the network, the highest number for a regular season
game televised on cable this season outside of Opening Night,
(35:36):
and six Ers forward Paul George says he's going to
stop doing his podcast for a while as he wants
to focus on the rest of the season and helping
the Sixers try to make the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Guys, back to.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
You, thank you, dB, have a great night, my friend
you two fellows, Hey coming up before we get out
of here. Cavino, I know you did want to talk
a little bit about Lebron James and what's going on
with him and Luca and cheap codes in LA.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
So maybe a little NBA games and we'll wrap up
the show next.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
So anything else you want to talk about, any thoughts
at Covine on Rich, We got more next right here
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
A lot of people don't know this, but Rich was
the third proclaimer true story. Rich is the third Oh no,
were Ei the third property brother or the third proclaimer?
I forget Cavino and Rich Live from the tyrack dot
(36:29):

Speaker 6 (37:02):
You know what you know what We call you. If
you have it as preset one, you're a P one.
That's where that's saying. I didn't know that, Is that true?
Wonder whether I had.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
No idea, Danny, I've worked in radio.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
Yeah, I didn't know that. Since I've been in college.
Since I've been in college a long time ago.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
I know that P one means like your primary listener,
like like a dedicad. I didn't know it's was short
for like preset one be short.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
That's really that. That's what I was told by this
saw a throwback for that little factoid. I mean, the
more you know, you know, guys, that's awesome. Thanks Danny.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
By the way, you know why they call it a mall,
like you get your clothes at the mall because instead
of going to one store, you go to them all.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
You didn't know. That's not true. That's true. That's true.
It's true. I swear I saw on social media. True.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
That's not true anyway, Cavino and Rich. Now when I
say Hooters, Hooters, yum, yum, yum, what do you think
of the good rush? No, man, that's what I pick up. Well,
guess what Hooters apparently is filing for bankruptcy like what
failures we are as a culture, part of a part
(38:13):
of their franchise, beautiful women, big big, But I don't
know what today.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Hooters and wings and like those wings were barely edible.
Though I love Hooters, I the sauces.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
It was like it was like oil. It's like oil
said Hooters, you got there, Hold it because tomorrow we
throw it back. Every Thursday we go old school in
fifty hits. We reminisce every Thursday on the show. So tomorrow,
big fan of the band of Hooters, I think we're
going to talk about stores that we miss.
Speaker 6 (38:45):
Yeah, stores that we miss. One of riches favorites is
also going out of business.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
I know, you know me, I love arts and crafts.
Joeann's I'm serious is going out. But my my wife
worked at Hooters when she was in college. Uh, dude,
who does it? Like good looking women.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
In hot wings. It's a fail on us.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Like if you would have went back into the early
two thousands, you'd be like, this place will never go
out of business.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
That circumstity though, too, I feel like if the food
was better, though, we would have went more often.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
I agree with that, ah man, So we'll do that
tomorrow on the show. But before we go today, we
just wanted to point out the fact that it's kind
of cool to see Lebron found another, I guess quarterback
for his team.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
I think that's how Colin put it too.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
It's like lucas such a great quarterback and Lebron is
such a great receiver in this new tandem, it's cool
to see him so rejuvenated. I think he put it
yesterday that well, you know what, just take a listen,
JJ Reddick. It's official has figured out the Lebron code.
Is that for years and years we've been trying to
(39:53):
kind of figure this out. How do you move Lebron
off ball? He's figured it out, and they tried it
with a d at it didn't work.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
The Lebron Luca code. One's a quarterback, one's a wide receiver.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Luca's gonna control the tempo, control the page, control the game.
He's gonna play quarterback. You know, it's a great analogy
by Colin. Stars he found and it's very evident. Like
you see this going on, You're like, wow, this is great.
I mean, he found the right fit. Like I'll give
you the analogy. Sometimes sometimes you go on Facebook or
(40:28):
Instagram and you see some girl you used to date
and she was the worst, but you see her so
happy with her new dude and kids and dog, and
you're like, You're like, I was just not right for her.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
She found her fit.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
You could put two stars together, or two cool people
or two good looking people together, doesn't mean it's gonna work.
You see that in radio and TV all the time.
They put two people together, like like ESPN does that, Hey,
you two are gonna co host the show, and it stinks.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
They're all terrible.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
Chemistry matters in relationship and sports, and Luca and Lebron
got something going on right now, unlike all the shows
on the other network, and like a lot of stars,
they don't make sense. We'll see you guys tomorrow. Have
a good one.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Until then, Ariva Derecci, Baby, we'll see you in the
Promised Land.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
Goodbye, goodbye,
