Speaker 1 (00:00):

Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
You still didn't tell me who was in the dunk
contest this weekend.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Mac McClung. Remember that he's in it. He's wanted a
couple of times a couple other guys.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yeah, I went to a dunk contest one I did see.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
They just canceled the NBA versus w NBA three point
shooting thing, Curry versus a w NBA player. They were
gonna do it, but then they scrapped it.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Not great is Caitlin Clark.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
She's not, come on, She's way too big for three
point shooting contest, even against Curry, so she's not doing that.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
No, I think against Curry would be fantastic.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Then no win for Curry, No win for Curry, So
what's he doing? I think it would be Kaitlin Clark
will get that Monster TV rating. But it's not happening
this year. Maybe when it's an Indy she'll do it
or something.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
She probably wants to do it for the WNBA. Why
would I want to help the NBA. If I'm Caitlin Clark,
I want to help the WNBA.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Well to reach a new audience. I guess of viewers right,
A bunch of w NBA fans who maybe haven't aren't
from me.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
It's interesting because it's a huge platform, and if you
beat Curry, it would be one for the ages. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
I mean, Curry is secure enough that I think he'd
probably do it. He's like, dude, I'm a legend, I'm
a top twelve.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
I don't think so. These guys, literally, Rachel Nichols told
us yesterday, they get worked up over who's the last
guy announced for the starting lineup Lebron like worries about that.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Like if Kaitlin Clark said, J Mack, I want to
do a three point shooting contest with you, I'm going
to make I'm embarrass you. I would still do it,
Like I would be fun for me.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I don't know, you're not Steph Curry. I know it
would be a huge win for you. You know, years
ago night. I think it was Nike. It was the
agent David Falk. Apparently something had been proposed for Michael
Jordan to play Magic Johnson in a one on one game.

(02:14):
I think I heard and mj said, no, no, no, no,
no no no. He said, Magic's already considered the better
team guy. If he beat me in one on one,
it is terrible for my brand. He goes, I don't
think he would, but I don't want to do that.
So Michael Jordan, very smart said I'm not I'm not
putting myself in that spot. Because Magic was viewed as
the better team guy. Jordan the great one on one guy. Well,

(02:36):
if Magic beat him, yeah, both of them.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
I think that's an antiquated way to look at things
like now, in the current atmosphere, you lose one on one,
who cares within a next week? There's seventy five million
other stories.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Let me ask you, why is Lebron never in the
dunk contest?

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Because you don't want to do it? Yeah, you got
to be creative and a lot of enterganment. And Michael
Jordan wan a dunk contest or two back in the day.
Lebron never won one.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Like Lebron would be compared to MJ the stuff.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Can't just enter a dunk contest. You've got to have
like a game plan, some dunks that haven't been seen before.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
You don't think Lebron's got those?

Speaker 3 (03:11):
He probably does, But I don't know why am I
turning into a Lebron defender.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Well, I'm just saying when Rachel Nichols acknowledged that the
last guy announced for the Lakers is that Lebron or Luca,
and it matters what that's like me worrying about a
parking space, which people in our industry can worry about,
which I think is the dumbest thing in the world.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I know who you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I'm not going to get in the names.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I know who you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Anyways, almost had a great line. Yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
in noon Eastern not a Empacific on Fox Sports Radio
FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Jmack with the news.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
This is the Herd Line News, all right.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Here we go into the NFL offseason. College Fox sports
dot Com had an interesting article breaking down the top
seven quarterbacks under the most pressure to succeed succeed next season. Okay,
obviously at the top of the list is Lamar Jackson,
no doubt about it. Number two Josh Allen again, no surprise.
Number three mild surprise. Justin Herbert. No, I think people

(04:20):
want that pressure. I would think Trevor Lawrence has got
to be up there. No, that's a pretty good list.
This is a pretty good list. Who did this, like
Fox Sports dot Com Dak Prescott FO two of five?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Who wrote it?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I don't know Anthony Richardson's.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Want to give somebody credit.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
I'll look it up.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I know if you wrote it, you'd tell me.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
I would be bragging.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yes, yes, I think this is Is there any pressure
on Dak? We know what Dak is. I don't think
there's pressure on.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
I mean the highest paid quarterback in the sport.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Yeah, there's pressure, I guess. I think there's pressure on
Anthony Richardson to see if he can complete fifty percent
of his throws. What about Jared Goff, No, we know
what he is.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
We do a guy who can't win the BEG game.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
How about Brock Purty going into a contract year. I know,
listen and being good on a day it's overcast by
the way.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Ben Arthur is the author of this piece.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Ben Ben, I think brock perty should be on that list.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
How's the under pressure He's been a conference championships.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I'd like to see every time it drizzles his passer
writing plumbers. Oh here comes a cloud. It's gonna be
a bad day Wednesday. If you could play with overcast guys.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Thursday is just take shots at everyone. Oh my gosh,
all right. Next up is your team of destiny for
next season, The New England Patriots colin New England brought
in Mike Rabel as a head coach. Josh McDaniels is gonna.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Be the OC.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
They got to rebuild team culture, help guide Drake May
into year two. Warner, you guys remember him obviously recently
discussed where he thinks McDaniels will help Drake May the most.
Take a listen.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
I think he's always gonna give Drake options.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
You know.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
The one thing that we would talk about with Tom Alan,
you know, they would play a little bit more small ball.
They weren't this throw it down the field all the time,
and obviously when they had Randy and stuff, but a
lot of their offenses were, you know, kind of pick
you apart and you know, and take what the defense
gives you, and giving Tom easy options more often than
I think Drake had this year. And so that's one

(06:18):
thing that I think Josh will do a great job
of is I'm gonna give you chances to just complete
balls and move the chains and not have to make
the big throw or the big run all the time,
to do things.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Ten wins, ten and seven, wild card team behind Buffalo.
I feel strongly about this. This is my Washington commanders
make the playoffs pick. They got a ton of money.
They need a number one receiver. I think I think
they need a left tackle receiver.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
They need an offensive line badly. What if they don't
get T Higgins? Is there like a backup plan after
t Higgins? Like the receiver market's not amazing Cooper Cup
I don't know that he does much to help.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
I don't I'm not going to pay free agent market
is T Higgins and that set for receivers. There's other people,
you know, there's some offensive lineman. You know, they could
look at Trey Smith. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
I worry if Chiefs guys are almost getting to the point.
Remember how Patriots players would be awesome under Belichick and
then leave good point and go elsewhere. At the point,
I wonder if that's the Chiefs thing.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I mean, Snead did nothing, Intendency nothing.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
One of our producers was texting me, hey, hey, you
know the Titans defense was good the first six games
with Snead.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
First six games Settle, then he got hurt.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
It's like it wasn't that right. Patriots are interesting in
the offseason. If you do your list, you know in
two weeks most interesting teams. Patriots have to be top.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Well, if you look at the free agent market, we
put it up earlier, who out of that list T
Higgins I would go after.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
I think everybody's in on T Higgins. Yeah, Chargers are
going to be all in.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
They don't need a corner.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Gonzales played well. I like him. You got offensive line badly,
like they need. Every position on the line.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Is they're a good right tackle. In the free agent market,
I'd draft a left tackle. I'd get a right.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Tackle like those guys do. I don't think you're getting
Chris Godwin.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
I really like Nick Bolton, but again it's a linebacker.
But I like him.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Chiefs Spagnolo's scheme. Is he all of a sudden going
to turn into a pumpkin in New England? Now, a
guy like Khalil Mack to me is plug and play.
You get him on the defensive, coming off the edge.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
He's expensive.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
He is going to be expensive. Yeah, that list is
not awesome a free agents. I'm more excited about the draft.
I would want picks this year. I like this coming draft.
Final story calls to the NBA where Kevin Durant. He's
had a lot of controversy in his career. Look like
you might have get traded at the deadline last week.
Nothing came of it. He's still in Phoenix now. An

(08:48):
NBA insider believes Durant will probably get traded over the summer, adding,
Durant knows it, the Suns know it, the rest of
the league knows it. Now we know that Durant said
he does not want to go back to Golden State. Colin,
give me a couple options for KD next season. Turning
thirty six, I believe in September he's still got a

(09:09):
lot of value. It's it's Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Let me, could you.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Convince him to take less? I'm sorry, turning thirty seven
in September. Could you convince KD to take less to
go where play with Luca Lebron? Hey, man, you don't
have to be a leader. You just got to be
a spot up shooter. You need help defense badly.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
That'd be interesting.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
But would he take less? He's already known as like
a guy who jumps on the bandwagon or whatever. I
don't totally buy end of that.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
But who's saying that.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Everybody who watched him go to Golden State and then
follow Kyrie? You know, you know the Washington Wizards. He's
about the Houston area.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Huh, Houston.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
That's a that's a good fit. They need like a veteran.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yep, Houston, a bucket getter. Yeah, I mean he is
still a rem markable offensive player. Yeah, and it feels
like he he's had some injuries, but I kind of
feel like he's he's okay.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
If you want to have fun, go to his social
media account and then just scroll in and he will
just say some.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Outland his stuff, like what you know his.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Just reply to random people, be like, I don't need
your negative energy in the building. Just don't come to
Suns games. He sent that to fan which is pretty funny.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
You know.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
I got to respect him. It's unlike Aaron Rodgers, who
talks down to everyone. Kevin Durantis will talk right to you,
a man. I don't need that. I don't need that
crap scram.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
I like him. I think we both like him.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
I like him.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, I thought I think he kind of tanked his career.
But he would if he saw me, and he yell
at me and to shoot a jumper over me for
saying that.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Yeah, he can probably.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
I thought he was thirty years old, back to back
MVP in the finals. He was arguably as good as Lebron.
I didn't think so, most did. And he went.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
And I would he admit that Draymond Green is the
reason he left Golden State.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Well, I don't know if he'd admit that. I think
it's part of it. It's part of it, you know.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
And he likes Kyrie. Kyrie, you know you wanted to
hang with his guy.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Jmack with a new.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the
heard line.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
New Chris Brussar joining US Live. Haven't talked to Bruin
in a while. Well, let's ask you on that. Kevin Durant.
Thing I threw out Houston I said this yesterday is
he's really a remarkable player. I wish he would have
stayed with Golden State. I thought Brooklyn just didn't work.
But he's a different he's an artist. He's a different
kind of cat. Where do you think he ends up?

(11:26):
Because I still contend he's a top bucket getter in
the league. Where do you think he ends up?

Speaker 6 (11:30):
Yeah, it's interesting you say he's an artist because I do,
just based off some of the things he says. Colin,
I feel like Kevin Durant is one of those guys
that I don't care. You guys are all in the
winning championships whatever.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
I just want to.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
Be better today than I was yesterday. I want my
jump shot to be smoother today than it was yesterday,
my handle to be better.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
So that that is an artist.

Speaker 6 (11:55):
But look, I still if I'm Golden State because what
some people around the league are saying, this is not
from Kevin Durant or anything like that, but what some
people around the league are saying is that Durand didn't
go to Golden State because he didn't want to play.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
With Draymond again.

Speaker 6 (12:09):
Now, from what I'm told they've rekindled their friendship. That's fine,
but it's just playing with Draymond. Draymond is always running
his mouth. He's always directing traffic, go here, go there, go,
and a lot of guys don't like that.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
STEP's fine with it.

Speaker 6 (12:24):
He's able to play with it.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
But a lot of guys get tired of that.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
And I'm getting the impression from what I'm being told that,
you know, Durant just doesn't want to be directed and
yelled at and go here and go there, even though
again he and Draymond have made up as far as
being friends. So if I'm Golden State, I'm willing to
move if I can move Draymond to get Kevin Durant first,

(12:47):
That's what I'm trying to do if I'm Golden State. Now,
if that can't happen, Houston, yes, I like him. Look
what about San Antonio a veteran winby Dearn Fox. You know,
I don't know if they could make it happen, but
that's something that I would like to see happen, or
I've tried to make happen the first two.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
That's a good one. That Stephen Castle kid's a stud
mb Fox KD Boll that'd be a handful. So through
two games, it's pretty obvious the Lakers are not gonna
be as good defensively. I said this all the attentions
on Luca, but what we forget is Ad is arguably
the best defensive player in the league. The last two
years you lost the best defensive player and now you

(13:29):
get Luca's one of the worst defensive players and out
of shape. I watched them last night and the Jazz
were like, let's just start a bunch of big guys.
The Lakers just got out flanked and outsized. What do
you think it's gonna look like? Also, the Lakers are
not a big three point shooting team, but now they're
gonna become a huge free point shooting team with Luca,
it's a transition. What do you think it's gonna look like?

(13:49):
And it's best for him in a month.

Speaker 6 (13:53):
I'm not writing them off as a Western Conference contender.
I think the top two teams in the West are
Oklahoma City and Denver, and I would throw the Lakers
in there as maybe that third top contender because the
other guys are young. Houston I think is just too young,
Memphis is very good, very talented, great offense and some defense,

(14:14):
but they might be a tad bit too immature and
young as well. And then you got teams like the Clippers.
So the Lakers have a shot, but they're still working out.
You mentioned the defense last night. Now, their defense over
the past month had been great, and that was not
all Anthony Davis. He like their last eleven games, they
were the best defense in the league, and Anthony Davis

(14:37):
only played five of those games. Dorian Finney Smith was
helping a lot Gabe Vincent, who was injured most of
the last season. He's helped a lot defensively, and those
two guys didn't play last night, so that was part
of the problem defensively. And then Jackson Hayes. Look, when
Jackson Hayes is a critical piece, that might spell trouble

(14:57):
for you. But when Jackson Hayes went out the first quarter,
that was their size and alex Lynn just wasn't ready
to play well. And so their lack of size is
huge defensively. Let's see, because like I said, they've been
a good defensive team recently, last night they went back
to being poor. We'll see what they do going forward.

(15:18):
And offensively, Colin. Luca has been off the ball a lot,
and Luca needs to be on the ball now. He
has to improve in terms of moving the basketball quickly,
not just dominating it, and also moving without the ball.
But if you want the Luca who's the MVP candidate,
then you better put the ball in his hands.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
You can't have him standing at the top.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
Of the key or the wing without the ball, or
standing in the corner without the ball. So they have
to figure all of this out. Lebron's become good at
playing without the ball and Austin Reeves. It can't be
one moment, it is Reeves one moment, it is Lebron moments,
it's Luca bringing it up because Luca's not used to that,
and so I think they're gonna have to eventually with

(16:00):
the ball in his hands.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
And let him go to work.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Listen, I have the knixt play with everybody, well except
the Celtics. I've watched them twice play Boston and get bulldoze.
Game was over in four minutes. The Celtics just attack
Karl Anthony, Towns and Brunson defensively. But I like this team.
When they made the move for Karl Anthony Towns. I
thought it was a move for another move, Like Giannis,
do you think this is as it's currently constituted. Are
the Knicks potentially a championship team or are we looking

(16:25):
at a team that needs to make another move because
I don't like the way they match up with Boston,
but I do like the way they match up with
everybody else in the league.

Speaker 6 (16:34):
Yeah, I mean Boston and some other some of the
top teams they've had trouble with. If I'm running the Knicks,
what I'm doing is like this year, look, we're going
for it. Of course we want to win a championship.
We made our big move to get Carl Anthony Towns,
who has been fantastic, right, right, But I want to
see how we play in these playoffs.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (16:54):
You're right, they haven't matched up well against Boston and
some of the other top teams.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
So to me what I'm watching, if I'm.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
The Knicks, let's let's get into the playoffs, make this run,
and see what we need from there. If obviously, if
we win the East, then great, we just kind of
run it back, maybe at a tweak, but you'll probably
find out if they lose an Eastern Conference playoffs, they'll
know what we need to kind of get to that
next level because you look at them on paper. You

(17:22):
got the great big man that scores, you got the
great point guard that scores and distributes the ball. You've
got defenders, you've got role players, you got shooters. They
you know, like their defense has to get better. Ironically,
Tims has always been known as a defensive coach. They
don't defend the three very well, so that's something they
can improve on. But on paper they look like they

(17:43):
have what they need. I just think you have to
see what happens in the playoffs to know, okay, this
is the final straw for us to get to that
championship level.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
By the way, Jimmy Butler makes the Warriors more interesting.
I had a guy Ethan Strauss on earlier that said,
maybe that's all it's for is that when Steph Curry
was off the floor before Jimmy Butler, they were unwatchable.
And I don't think they were a championship team. You know,
kaminga Butler, Curry Draymond. I think your KD take is interesting.

(18:13):
Do you think it to are they could they win
a playoff series with Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 6 (18:19):
Yes, because remember how great playoff Jimmy is. We know
Steph can deliver in the playoffs. Draymond is great defense.
You know, you got some good role players around those guys,
and so if playoffs Jimmy shows up, they could absolutely
win around.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
They can't win the West.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
This is not a championship team, but they got better.
What they did to me is assure themselves of making
like the play in and having a good chance to
get into that final group of playoff teams, and then
you know they could win around depending on the matchup.
But it was a good move for them. But again,
it's not a move that gets them to the championship level.

(18:58):
So I'm not closing the book on Kevin Durant if
I'm the Warriors, because we all think he'll get moved
this summer, and I'm open to move in Draymond if
that's possible to make make room for KD.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Chris Bruce Sard He'll be on First Things First after
our show. Been a bad week for Nick Wright, been
a great week for Brew He's just loving it on
that show now. Good for him.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Loved I had a ball Sunday and Monday with.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Nick Good Senior. Great show is Oa's buddy. Uh yeah
that KD. That's an interesting thing. KD to the Warriors
move Draymond. That's interesting, Katie and Wemby is also Oh
my god. I mean I watched them last night against
Ball again. They're not ready to beat Boston. They got dudes.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
We got to get to the plan. Would we need
oneby in at least the play in. I think they're
all don't make the plan. Somebody's got to drop MAVs
Son's Warriors. Somebody's got to.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
I can't believe the MAVs won last night. They couldn't
stop Kyrie. Warriors couldn't stop Kyrie. All right, take a break,
come back. J Mack Tomorrow's headlines to I didn't even
know we were getting it today. It's like a it's like
a bouquet of flowers. It's like a box of chocolates.
It's there's a gift coming up next.

(21:08):
that's Cabino and Rich.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Jmack's Tomorrow is the best of the herd. So you
and I get a little a big break. Nobody knows
where J Max's going on vacation. I would strongly suggest
you should go to the Gulf of America. Everybody, everybody's
everybody's talking about the Golf of America.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Oh, here we go.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
All right, all right, you ready to go.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Golf of America. That's good.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
All right. Tomorrow's headlines today, Let's have some fun. Okay,
headline for the Raiders quarterback this season. Let me ask
you this before you do the headline. I think they
have their tackles at center, Chip Kelly, two good tight ends.
I don't think it's a terrible spot for quarterbacks. It's
not a bad landing spot. They got, Like you said,
Chip Kelly's a smart offensive mind. We're doing a quarterback
carousel today on headlines, and I think the Raiders have

(21:59):
a good one headline. Well me Donald's and Dragons Vegas,
Rolls Dice a.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Main role player.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
You know.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
I'm looking at the depth charge here for the Raiders.
It's not awful.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
Colin.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
They've got some dudes, and you have the six pick
in the draft. You could get a starter on defense there.
I mean, we know Chip Kelly would like a mobile quarterback.
We saw what will Howard remember moving the pocket a
lot at Ohio's table the season it worked well. I
think Sam Donald's a good fit there. I don't think
it's a long term deal. I don't think they're doing
like a four year deal for Donald. I would guess
probably a three year deal for like one twenty something

(22:32):
like that. Yeah, right, forty MILLI year. We know he
needs a mobile quarterback, the backup option if they don't
get Donald could be like a Daniel Jones who doesn't
excite anybody.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
So if you're not going to get a quarterback in
the draft, you bring in Donald and at least as
a two year starter, because the following year you get
a quarterback. But he could sit for a year, yeah,
which is what Minnesota did with Donald, and they wanted
JJ McCarthy to sit and watch for a year.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
Yeah. And I'm sure you've seen the video. Shadur Sanders
was working out at the gym and saw on the
screen somebody on TV that he's gonna go sixth, and
Chadur is like apoplectic, No way, I'm not going sick,
No shot, he's gonna go before. Raiders are not gonna
have a chance at Shador. I know you don't love
him as much as some of the other people. He's
not gonna fall to six. So I think they go
Darnold in free agency.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Yeah, no, somebody will. It's a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
The closer we get to the draft, people move up
for quarterbacks. Tomorrow's headlines today, Now, this is a tasty
one headline for the Indianapolis Colts next season because I
think richards and I gave him a second year.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
I don't think it works right, But can you totally
move off of him? Do we still give it more time?
He is very young, had only a few college starts
at Florida. The headline for the Colts will be don't
Russ to judgment?

Speaker 2 (23:42):
A new Colt could cook.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, I mean, like Russell Wilson, if he's leaving Pittsburgh.
You look around the landscape column. There's not a lot
of great options. I don't think Russ is a long
term threat to Richardson right with the Colts, and frankly,
if Russ can get to the playoffs with Pittsburgh in
the AFC, why couldn't he put Indy in position to
have some success. I liked the kid on the outside, Pittman.

(24:05):
They got a great run game. Shane Steichen's smart offensive mine.
I think the Colts are close. I thought Richardson would
take a bigger leap than he did, and I think
Russ plugs in there and they could be a nine
to ten win team.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
That's interesting.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
You're not as bullish on Russ anymore, are you.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
It's nothing against him. I just think I think Sam
Darnold's in his prime, and I think Aaron from the
Pocket is better. So if you're giving me options, I
would take Sam donald one because he's in his athletic prime.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
But here'd be longer than one year. And I don't
think they're bailing on Richard. Do you think you're officially
done with him after two? No?

Speaker 1 (24:38):
No, but I listen. I know that he's young, but
I'm watching him last year. Dude, he can't get to
fifty percent on throws and he's missing on the easy stuff.
He just may not mechanically be an NFL quarterback.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Sanchez had a funny line about someone else, but he's
like the lights are on, but is anybody home? Yeah?
You know you see that with Anthony Richardson, Like, just
you're not making the easy step.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
The layout throws are a real struggle and that's just
a sign. You know, he only played thirteen college games,
so I thought give him a second year. I just
didn't see it all right tomorrow's headlines. Today, here's another
saucy one, the New York Giants quarterback situation.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Saucy. Well, we like this. We've been all over this
for about a week now. We started talking about it,
last started it, and now I think you liked it
at the time. The headline for the Giants will be
Stafford infection Giants hope vet influence spreads. Now. You know,
as a Jets fan, I am very anti Giants, but
I think Stafford going to the Giants, and I do

(25:34):
believe Cooper Cup will come with him on a discount. Yeah, Colin,
you draft probably a couple offensive linemen. Like you said,
Andrew Thomas graded out well when he's healthy. I think
this could be a playoff team with Stafford in New York.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
I think absolutely viable.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
They're definitely letting the Cowboys. I don't know if they'd
be better than Washington and Jayden, but Stafford instantly can
have an impact. Brian Dabile, remember he took Daniel Jones
to the playoffs. Remember they beat Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
They have their left tackle, they have a receiver, they
have good defensive personnel up front. They need to back
and a tight end.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Yeah, you got to keep that three third pick, or
maybe you'd like you said, you trade down, accumulate more.
They still need a lot of talent. They don't have
a running back. I don't like the running back room.
Tracy showed well the rookie for a little bit. I
think he's from Purdue. But they need a lot of pieces.
But Stafford instantly gives them credibility, and it's like, oh
we've got something. I like Dable. I think they're a
playoff team. Matt Stafford, Malik Neighbors wants it to happen.

(26:27):
Go look at a social media Oh he does. He's
been hyping. He didn't put their name, but he puts
their jersey number for Cup and Stafford Neighbors is really
pushing it.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Tomorrow's headlines today the old Rams.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
What say you, Well, we touched on this yesterday and
you really like folks peek behind the curtain. Cowhard called
me yesterday after the show was like, hey, hey, that
stuff we were talking about, there's something here. The headline
for the Rams will be Aaron meet air one. Rogers
trades Big Apple for gluten free goods. Come on, how

(27:03):
legendary is that couple Aaron Rodgers in La Listen, you
get Pooka, you still got Kyrien Williams. You've got McVeigh,
we saw him. If they go to the Super Bowl
with Golf, If they go to the Super Bowl Stafford,
I do I think the Rams still are a playoff team.
And we mentioned yesterday they played the Eagles tougher than
anyone in the playoffs, a slow start in that game.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
If they move Stafford, they're gonna get multiple picks. Their
defense outside of a corner and maybe an inside linebacker
is set. They can start giving Aaron weapons. This is
a good old tackle draft, great running back draft, a
couple good receivers up top. The Rams could really do
to their offense what they've done to their defense to

(27:43):
last two drafts. If because remember if you if you
give Stafford he goes to the Giants, you're getting at
least like a three and a four or a one
and a five. Well, they've already got you know, two
three threes for they've got they have draft picks. So
I'm just telling you that the Aaron to the Rams.
They they're getting tired of Cooper cup Stafford. They don't

(28:04):
like all this public stuff with you know, get us paid.
It's not sitting well with the organization.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
And you look at the open spots for Rogers. I
don't he's not retiring, he's not going out, he's not.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Going to Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
I don't see that as a logical Who he is.
This Rams one is interesting, Colin, and you know he
still can be good. Like you said, final ten games
or whatever. I was pooh pooing that. But Rogers and
Pooka is kind of sort of nasty. And McVeigh that's
a playoff team next year they're Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
They're not they're not fed string coaching staff. Last year,
go look at his last ten games. They were excellent.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Finally tomorrow's headlines today, well, what the hell are Jets
gonna do a quarterback?

Speaker 3 (28:46):
This is the tough one, you know, and you know,
you process of elimination. There's not a lot of guys
out there. There's a world where some Jets fans are like, hey,
let's just not get a guy tank and play for Archby.
I get it, that's in play. I don't think that happens.
The head line for the Jets will be cause I'm.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Free, free falcon.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Kirk drops from dirty Birds into Jets status. Now, Kirk
Cousins to the Jets kind of fits the hey man,
we got a good run game, we had a solid
offensive line, we got the young kid from Penn State.
We don't need you to do that much, Kirk, because
the Jets they like you said, you like their roster.
They got Breis Hall in the backfield.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
They need another receiver and a tight end.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
You move off Rogers, then you move off de Vonte Adams.
I mean again, I don't love Kirk Cousins. I hated
what I saw at the end with Atlanta, but motivated
right healthy after the Achilles. Is there a world where
Kirk Cousins shows well, Zach Wilson won this team seven
games two years ago. Kirk can't kind of sort of
do that.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
You know there, this is not And here's the thing.
Kirk would go there for a year, retire, He'd be
a statesman, he'd be a mentor, he'd be a good dude.
He'd good be a a locker room guy. You know,
New York's got enough noise you don't get any noise
with Kirk off the field quiet.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
And let's be real, he's not going to stay in
Atlanta and be the backup right, and not at his
price point. Pennox has obviously got the job. Cousins has
got to go somewhere. Did I miss a team here
that you think Cousins fits better than the Jets? Raiders?
Maybe Chip Kelly wants a mobile guy that's not Kirk.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
I think the Raiders isn't. So they have Colton Miller.
They just drafted the right tackle. They got a center
last year in the second round. They have two excellent
tight ends Jacobe Myers, Chip Kelly. They need a quarterback
and a running back.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Like the division is brutal though it.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Yeah, but you know, as Pete Carroll would tell you,
you got to face those teams anyway. Yeah, you might
as well face them twice. The Raiders gave the Chiefs
problems last year, and we're abysmal at quarterback.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
Let me ask you if the Jets went into Woody
Johnson and say, hey, here's our plan. We want to
tear this down. I don't know about this guy. This
guy ten starters jobs are up. Just give me a
year to break down the roster. Do you think that's an.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Because the Jets have a good roster. I like it.
I like their two running backs I like.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
But it's also from the last regime, the new GM,
the new Coats.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
They might have a different system. You don't have to
tear it down to win five or six games. That's
the NFL next year. A lot of the bad teams
now have solved their quarterback issues. I mean, look around
two three years ago. Washington's bad, not anymore, Houston's terrible.
Oh not anymore. You start looking around right now, Bryce Young,
now you're like, oh, actually he can play.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
He did play.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
I mean, there's just not a lot of Chicago's and
mess probably not anymore.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
So do you think the Jet Jets are one of
the like five worst teams in the AFC.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
In their current quarterback situation? They're bottom three? I mean seriously,
I mean you can bang on Tua Gonna.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Tua's a Pro Bowl level quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
He's better than what the Jets have current.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
Yeah, so my take his play hard, don't don't rebuild
the roster, just get a great draft pick.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Easier said than done, but just go get a great drafting.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
All right, we're off tomorrow. Best of the herd, J
mac is maybe he's going to the Gulf of America.
I'll tell you what, I maybe piggyback on that one.
I cant it's a new part of America. I want
