Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Okay, Urban Meyer around the corner. Jmax picks. Jmax with
the news.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
No, no, turn on the news. This is the Herdline News.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Now I'm cracking me up here the break.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
All right, let's get started.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
Jaden Daniels Colin had not practiced all week after that
rib injury last week against the Panthers, but big news
breaking here in the last thirty minutes, Jaden Daniels return
to practice. Dan Quinn says, game time decision. Look, here's
Jayden on his status for Sunday.

Speaker 6 (00:57):
I mean, it's football. At the end of the day.
Things happen. Sometimes you might have to fight through some
but if you could go, you can give your all and
be smart about it. Obviously, they want to put me
in any position they want to fill. Hunt the boy
from my future I wanted for my seventh in that predictment.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Even you better prepare for Jaden Daniels Marcus Mariota, my
prediction will play very well in this offense. This offense
is is also substantially about Cliff Kingsbury, who may not
be a head coach, but as a play designer and caller,
Cliff is excellent. This was my prediction before the season.

(01:38):
I said one team in this league's gonna shock us,
and I picked Washington. Washington was my I can't believe
their playoff. I said Dallas won't make the playoffs, Washington will.
So this is my team. It Yes, Jaden Daniels excellent,
but if you watch Mariota come in and run the
same offense last week, he was equally excellent. I think
he's going to be fine.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Things Number one is this gamesman shipped from Dan Quinn. Hey, hey, look,
Jami's practicing Bears.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
You better be ready for.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Probably a little. I think Mariota is playing.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
The second one. You had this in your blazon five.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
I do not have this game coming up, but again
I'm digging through the games.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Trying to find him.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Scure stuff.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
Collin, who knows Caleb Williams better than anybody, could it
be Cliff Kingsbury, who coached him last year at USC.
Do you think Kingsbury knows all the weaknesses and the
strengths about Caleb Williams, how to get in his head,
how to rattle him, how to mess him up. Like
Cliff Kingsbury knows him better than anybody in the NFL.

(02:36):
I think that's a huge edge in him and Dan
Quinn could be working together. I'm on the Bears earlier
in the week at two and a half. I don't
like it anymore because I finally thought of this and.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
These kind of these kind of gems by you, these
little diamonds. I hope people understand listening radio or TV.
You hand these out liberally during the week, and most
are make me think that's a good nugget.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
I don't have much of a social life. It's like, basically,
I'm a show fur to my kids. I play Men's
league basketball. You're another one last night, and I'm.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Digging into the NFL. I want to win. I want
to win money.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
Next up, Colin Drake May will look to make his
third career start Sunday, taking on Aaron Rodgers and My
Lowly Jets.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Drake makeson pretty good through two.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
Starts, touchdown passes, two picks showed some glimpses of promise.
Here's tight end Hunter Henry, who loved him after the
last week's big game.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Hunter Henry giving him credit.

Speaker 7 (03:26):
He's done it, tremnous job. He's he's seeing things well,
he's only continuing to see things well. You know, really
it's my job to be at the right spot at
the right time in the timing of the offense. So
trying to do that to the best of my ability
sometimes covers his dictate certain things. Sometimes different things cover,
you know, make things different. But obviously with his mobility

(03:48):
to just working with him and the scrambled dural and
different things like that, and he's doing it as your
minous job.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
He is look good. You should be happy.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
It can't be worse than Brissette, who was awful against
the Jets in the first meeting.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Now I'm looking at the Jets injury report.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Two safeties have not practiced yet, Adams and Davis. But
the cornerbacks look back, which is huge because they had
two of their top three down last week. I don't
want to say this is a dangerous game for the Jets.
I don't even want to play the game, Colin. What
if Drake May beats Aaron Rodgers the week after Aaron
Rodgers lost to Russell Wilson. But I'll pose it to
you what happens to Drake May somehow wins this game at.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Home, Aaron Rodgers will blame somebody else and use a
big word in the postgame press conference. Remember that one
to use this word sanguine.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Sa n gui.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
I was a really good speller back in the day.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Yeah, I wasn't all right to the NBA where I
promise this will not become an argument.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Clay Thompson made his debut with the Map last night.
He was cooking Colin.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Twenty two points, including six threes, setting the MAVs record for.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Made threes in a debut.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
He also hustled out there seven board three steals. There
was a three where Luka Doncic found him and then
before Clay even shot it, Lucas starts running up the
courts and ring it up like the MAVs.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
You know, I'm a Luca die.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
I will say this. I will say this in terms
of fit. This is a great fit. He's a catch
and shoot guy. Luca can dribble the air out of
the ball. Kyrie can dribble the air out of the ball.
You can't have a third guy like that. So from
just a fit, you got to give the GM credit.
I think it's Nico for y Mags. This is a

(05:22):
good fit. Now he's passed his prime and at this
point he's no longer an elite defender. And we know
Kyrie and Luca don't play great defense, but they do
have some size. Last year at the trade deadline they
went and got size. So Dallas is it's I'm interested.
I watched a little bit of this. I'm interested to
watch this because you know, I know this. It's not
just talent like Brooklyn had talent. Nothing fit. Phoenix has

(05:45):
talent last year, nothing fit. This on paper is a
great fit.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
What is interesting is I just realized this. You said
the word Kyrie Irving. We haven't said his name on
the show in like two months. The maps right now
are about Luca, who could win the MVP, might score
eighty points, Klay Thompson, who everybody loves and is rooting for.
They got Derek Lively, the big kid who was a
rookie last year was awesome. He was shooting threes all summer.
He had a great game last night.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
So it's like Kyrie Irving.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
I just looked at the stats, fifteen points, three boards
to assist lost. How's he going to handle no longer
being like a big name in the headline.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
I think at this point, I think Kyrie got a
lot of heat and then last year and Dallas really
enjoyed it, and I think Kyrie's sitting there thinking, I
don't have to be the centerpiece. And I also think
this happened with d Wade in Miami. He realized after
about four practices Lebron was better than d Wade. I

(06:40):
think Kyrie realizes Luca's better than me, and Luca is
better than Hia, and so you could it's now Kyrie
in his prime didn't like being told Lebron was better
than him. But Kyrie's not in his prime, and he
kind of screwed that Cleveland thing up and admits he
screwed the Cleveland thing up. So I think Kyrie is
smart enough to go, okay, I had a chip on

(07:01):
my shoulder when a guy was great, Why do it
a second time? And I think he's just gonna He's
admitting now Lebron and Luca are two of the top
five players in the league in the last ten years.
I screwed up one. I'm not gonna screw up another.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Self awareness super huge if he has it. Maps, they
look they look good. It's one game, there's eighty one left.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
But I like this roster is a strong team, all right.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
J macklinnews.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the
Herd Line. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Herd weekdays and noon eastern nin am Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
A three time Big Ten champ seventeen years, three national championships,
you know, he got a couple of them at Florida
with the Gators, one with the Buckeyes. He's now a
Fox Sport Lead sports analyst. Urban Meyer is now joining
us in the Herd Big noon kickoff at Columbus So
the twelve team playoff. Urban I watched Georgia and Texas,

(07:58):
and I thought, you know, if you're going to lose
to Georgia, you might as well get your butt kicked
so you can show the tape in three months when
you have to play them again. You know, you wouldn't
want to out play them and lose. And I tried
to take some value from getting your butt kicked, because
the world's new now. If you got beat that badly
and had to play Georgia again, could you not argue

(08:21):
it's the right way to lose, just get stomped.

Speaker 8 (08:26):
Well, it's hard to even fathom getting stopped. I know
what's happened a few times. But I'll tell you what, Colin,
I do agree with that, But I also I have
Georgia number one. That was by far the best performance
I've seen into twenty twenty four. I mean, they are
the best team in the country. If they play like that,
they are the best team in the country.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, Texas, here's what worries me about Texas. And I
felt this a little about USC and Miami. I think
Ohio State's a great program, Penn State's a great program,
George is a great program. Texas, though you sometimes urban
their glamour programs, and I thought the way they lost,

(09:06):
I'm like, that's what I was afraid of. They start
getting into their fields, the Lamborghinis, Buck guys. I've never
felt the buckeyser glamour. It's Ohio it's physicality. You're laughing
at me. But the way Texas lost, I'm like, that
was my biggest fear the pretty boys down in Austin,
was it not.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yeah, that's kind of had that history.

Speaker 8 (09:27):
But there is also I always look at jobs and
I see Texas and you mentioned USC. That doesn't comprehend
with me. Those are two of the top three, four
or five because you stumble over in great players and
the state of Texas high school football is tough.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
So I get it. I've heard that before. I'll be honest,
I don't buy it.

Speaker 8 (09:48):
That can't happen to Texas because the culture there in
high school, it starts in high school football.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
You better be a tough dude to go play high
school football in Texas. Yeah. So Texas to rebound, I
really do. I mean, what the good thing is?

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Call it?

Speaker 8 (10:04):
Sark has raised the level of expectation that that can't happen,
and it did happen.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
So they got a rebound.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
So you were You and Bill Parcells are cleanup specialists.
You go in, you clean up the roster, you clean
up the details, and you win immediately. You did it
at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida, Ohio State. So listen, Replacing
Nick Saban is no fun. Replacing urban Nick Saban. It's
no fun to replace you guys. But I have heard

(10:31):
stories and people are saying Alabama is a little loose.
It's a little loose, and I think, well, let's ask
somebody who's done this. You didn't replace a lot of legends.
It is harder doing that. But but but are some
of the criticisms of Kaylin de boor you know, the
players are kicking things, and is it a fair criticism?

(10:54):
It's a tad loose right now at Bama.

Speaker 8 (10:58):
Well, I was always one out after us, so I
was one after Spurrier. I was one after trust All.
So those are twoe legends. And the one thing about Spurrier,
I always felt Steve Spurrier everywhere, I mean every day
I felt. I just call it the shadow of the Visors.
So I could have played a tape for you. In
August has said at some point Alabama's coaching status. You

(11:18):
can get criticized because he's not Nick Saban. They don't
look like mcshaban's team. It's an automatic and they won.
They beat Georgia, so everybody went away. But then a
minute they lose a game and they had two bad losses.
So you're gonna hear that, and he's got to deal
with it. He knew that, I promise you he knew
that before he took that job.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Is it possible that Bama's just not as good this year?
And then listen some teams, you know it, you can
figure it out. I would argue when I've watched him play,
they don't look as good as Ohio State, Georgia, Texas
or Oregon. I don't think they're as good. Is that fair?

Speaker 8 (11:49):
Absolutely fair? You had an un Alabama like roster transition.
When the coaching change is made, it's going to take
a second.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
You know what.

Speaker 8 (11:57):
I think the false expectations and I act she bought
into it with Jalen Milroe. And when they beat Georgia
like that, they that first half of football, they look
like the best team in the country.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
They're not. But that it's not panic time. He's got
to build his roster. It's real.

Speaker 8 (12:12):
That is that's not as good as Alabama team as
they will be. I think at the end of this
year and next.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Year, so Ohio State passes the eye test, they become
wide receiver. You I think they've got their running game solved.
I was a little discouraged with a defense at Oregon,
but I also think listen, Otson Stadium's a nightmare. You
get off your game. If you're going to get beat,
Otson Stadium is the place to get beat. But it
is a little unnerving when Dylan Gabriel just tears you apart.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Did it?

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Is there anything structurally or schematically you saw with Ohio
State that they need to clean up?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Yeah, I'm gonna talk about this as tomorrow as well.

Speaker 8 (12:50):
So whenever we played a somewhat softer schedule, I was
in I was paranoid, in a panic, because your problems
don't show up until you play a great team and
state schedule.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
They just it wasn't SOE's fault.

Speaker 8 (13:02):
They just had a soft non conference schedule, and sure enough,
the pass defense showed up. I see two situations with
the pass defense. Whenever you say pass defensive, first, sure,
the Coroner's got to play better, but you have to
talk about the pass rush. You have two future NFL
players at defensive end with JT and Jack Soder at
zero sacks, and they played too many plays. They played

(13:23):
sixty plays, almost double what they played in the first
five games average, and then the interior d line wasn't
working with the defensive ends, and Dylan Gabra had a
very comfortable pocket and he ripped them apart. You can't
play BA pass defense without hitting the quarterback. So I
know coach Day has been spending time with the defense.
I anticipate a big change, not necessarily big change, a

(13:46):
lot of changes on the pass rush from Ohiostea.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
So years ago, you and I were talking about USC.
This was pre Lincoln Riley, and you said they just
don't have enough good players, especially on the defensive line. Well,
all the years later with Lincoln, they still don't have
a great defensive line. Now they're super young on offense.
They got a senior running back in a senior center.
They return everybody. Some of this is Michigan's defensive line,

(14:12):
a bunch of freshmen up front for USC. But I
look at them and I see them losing Maryland, Minnesota
in urban I don't see enough elite guys. It's they
have not put a fence around southern California. It's that
a legitimate criticism.

Speaker 8 (14:30):
It is, And what's alarming to me is Colin I
don't feel the panic that the country should be in
a usc should not be losing once again. I think
they got an excellent coach or you know, they don't
have enough firepower in the offense of the defense lines.
I told you that after we've played them in the
Cotton Bowl, yeah, six years ago or something. I just
when I watched the whole body work, elite skill, elite

(14:53):
quarterback skill up both sides. But I'm watching the offense
of the defensive lines, and until they get that fixed,
I don't think they're going to be able to compete
at the top three, four or five teams in the
Big Ten. They have to get that fixed.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Yeah, I mean, there's no question. When you watch Ohio State, Texas, Georgia, Oregon,
they just look different.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
You know.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Finally, I want to go back to the Texas Georgia
thing is interesting. So you know, they pull Quinn viewers
and they put in arch Manning, and you dealt with
all these quarterbacks. Quinn wasn't playing particularly well, and a
lot of people said afterwards, well, he's kind of panicking. Well,

(15:33):
I mean, you're in a big game, you're seeing maybe
Quinn's not seeing the field. Give me what a coach
thinks it's not just the score to pull a quarterback.
And we both know Sarknoh's quarterbacks, he's excellent. What was
your take when a quarterback is struggling? And not many
a years did, But what would be your take on, hey,
this just isn't the Saturday.

Speaker 8 (15:56):
I would always have a meeting early in the season
to make it perfectly clear that the expectations you play
the very best at your position.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
If not, the guy behind is going to get a shot.

Speaker 8 (16:05):
First of all, that keeps your backup fully engaged, but
also you're going to at some point you're going to
have to make a change at different positions. If you're
fortunate you don't have to a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
But he did the right thing. And I don't I
think the.

Speaker 8 (16:17):
Outer world, the outside Austin world, or the outside the
Longhorned locker room. I think everybody expected that if you're
not playing well, you got a good player behind him,
play them. So I don't see the same panic. I've
heard this a bunch this past week. Did he do
the right thing? First of all, he's a coach. He
did the right thing, that's his call. And he's a quarterback,
really good quarterback.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Coach.

Speaker 8 (16:36):
Second of all, I imagine he's handled that well before
this situation happened. He's talked to the team. The team
would probably have been more shocked if he didn't make
that change, because when someone's not playing well, give the
other guy shot.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Finally, I got to be honest. You know, Dion Sanders
I thought was going to make Colorado interesting. I didn't
doubt that. But the whole transfer portal thing I got, man,
that's hard way to I would build to high school
and occasionally added transfer by the transfer portal. If you're
getting the guy from Ohio State or Georgia, there's probably
a reason buck guys, and you know they're not letting

(17:13):
guys go if they like him. But I will be
honest with you. I watched Dion's run game and defensive
line the last couple of weeks, and they look kind
of legitimate. They like run the ball, Warren SAPs done
a good job. Were are you surprised? I mean really,
are you kind of surprised how well they're playing?

Speaker 8 (17:31):
I am, but I'm not because you remember last year
we had them the first three games. So I went
out on my own time and I watched them during
training camp because I Dion's a friend. I've always really
got along well with Dion, and I sat in meetings.
He allowed me full access to his program, and I
called my guys at Big New and I said, no,
I don't know if it's this year, next year, whatever

(17:52):
it is. They have two elite they have two elite players.
But be I and all the rings and watches and
give me my theme music. There is a lot of
substance in that program. I tell people that all the
time I sat and listened, and he's he's hard on
those players. The coaches pushed those players. So I'm not
I'm not that surprised. I know, if he continues to

(18:15):
the transfer portal thing is unnerving. I mean, that's a
lot of transition every year.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (18:20):
But as far as substance in the program called I'm Tonia,
there's a lot of substance in Colorado's program.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
All Right, he's in Columbus, you know where he was
eighty three and eighty three and nine, And I bet
you he remembers every loss and the losses the wins
all fade. But I guarantee you you remember the halftime
score of every loss. You only had nine, but you coaches.
Forget the wins. You remember if I said, right now

(18:48):
name the nine, you'd just fly right through him, wouldn't you?

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Absolutely?

Speaker 8 (18:52):
I know the nine a matter of fact, on the
way home in the car today, I'm gonna go through him.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
And how the hell did that happen?

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Irvin Meyer? Uh noonkickoff? Great senior coach.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Thanks calling. Good to see you all right, Urban Meyer.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Yeah, the Ohio State looks good. I'll tell you you're gonna
go back Ohio State Oregon. Would you be shocked if
they met again? I wouldn't. I really wouldn't. I said
it before the season. I thought Oregon would win the
opener and Ohio State will meet the next meeting. Those
two teams are there's only gonna be There's only about

(19:28):
three teams that you look at and go, yeah, they'll
be in Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Georgia to me look different.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
I think you got to reconsider Georgia given what they've
done turnaround winning at Texas.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
They had a terrible first half at Bama and then
they dominate the second half.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
They were sleepy against Kentucky.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
I haven't been overwhelming, but that performance against Texas to me,
Trump's everything.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Else, the sad, the seven sacks, it felt like they
had twenty.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
Yeah, Clatt was up here talking about how Texas was
like the best roster in the country, and I watched Georgia,
Georgia man handle them.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
I dominated the trenches.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yeah, yeah, I like Texas too. Okay, he's been you know,
you've been on a perpetual six year heater. But this
I will say this week, it's tougher the Lions. There
are a lot of big lines, so I can like
a team, but do I like giving up five or
six points? So it's a little bit of a tricky
line week for jmak his picks.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Next, be sure to catch live editions of The Herd
Weekdays and Noone Easter not a im Pacific.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
Don't miss your chance to win free cash prizes playing
Fox Super six sponsored by DraftKings. Go to the Fox
Sports app to make your picks. One of the questions
is which wide receiver will have the most receiving yards
Colin AJ Brown against the Bengals, Jamar Chase against the Eagles,
my guy Brian Thomas versus the Packers, or Amari Cooper

(20:52):
versus Deceeed.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Jamar Chase Joe Burrow against NFC teams is ten and.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
One and eat look at that, oh nugget?

Speaker 1 (21:03):
All right, very excited, very excited, called tomorrow's headlines today.
Let's start five and two against two and five. Tomorrow's
headlines today, hackers at the Jags on Fox.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Okay, so I'm sure you saw the stat there's one
of these trends.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
And be careful with trends. There's just one data point.
But road favorites were on a sixteen or no heater
over the last few weeks, and the Green Bay Packers
are a road favorite here. Just be careful, the headline
will be looking pretty GOODA love milks the moment.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
I'm on the Packers. One of my first bets this week.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
It was simply against the Jacksonville defense Colin. They ranked
dead last in DVOA. They're near the bottom of the
barrel in almost every other defensive stat.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Now, they do get Tyson Campbell their best cornerback.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
He's back from injury, but again it's not like he
can lock down who do you lock down?

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Watson?

Speaker 7 (21:56):
We do?

Speaker 4 (21:57):
They don't have so many weapons, Jayden Reed, don't you
love him? Everywhere? Super quick? I just think this green
Bay offense will score thirty with ease.

Speaker 5 (22:05):
Remember Joe Flacco a couple weeks ago in Jacksonville throwing
bombs over the top like it's Joe Flacco. Jordan Love
is a better quarterback. I think Green Bay easily scores thirty.
The question is can the defense get enough stops? And
I have to give you the obligatory. Next week green
Bay has Detroit, so there is the potential for looking ahead.
You know, Jacksonville on the road crap team. A little

(22:27):
concern with that, but I'm on the Packers minus four.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Tomorrow's headlines today the return of Tua in Miami Cardinals
at Dolphins. I'm really interested. That game is on Fox
as well.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Yeah, this was not a great game, but then Tua
got ruled in and it was like, oh, oh to
is back and Tyreek Hill's doing cartwheels. The headline will
be do you remember when Tua came back before November? Yeah, baby,
let's go Dolphins. I do not like the Dolphins, ever,
I'm a Jets fan.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
I love them this week.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
I don't want to say load up kids, college tuition
or none of that stuff, but this is a bad
spot for Arizona. I just looked at their injury report.
Two starters injured against the Chargers, short leak, short week,
early start. But this is more about Tua. We remember
two of feasts on these bad teams. When he steps
up in class, the Buffalo is the Kansas City's he
starts unravel. But against these bad defenses, Colin he can eat.

(23:19):
And I did see a stat they scored seventy in
a game last year, remember against the Broncos. Yep, they
have seventy points this season. Okay, without Tua.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
They didn't top twelve points in a game.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
It's like Huntley and Tim Boyle and these guys.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
It was ugly.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
I think rejuvenated Jalen Waddle. I had to bend him
in fantasy for like three weeks, like he's irrelevant. Tyreek
Hill I think had one or two targets through three
quarters last week.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
It's like, what are we doing? So you get to
a back.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
I think Miami wins this and they get back in
the race because guess who they have next week the
Buffalo Bills, and they could get back in the race
in the AFC.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
I also do think Miami the locker room's a little disengaged.
I think they want to win. Yeah, I think they
want to make a statement. I think they'd it on
to kind of like nothing. Nothing feels better than a
blowout when at home.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
One more quick set Kyler Murrie after a win.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
Okay, he's zero to eleven straight up, has not had
back to back wins since twenty twenty one.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
So they get a little happy.

Speaker 5 (24:15):
Maybe Kyler's playing a lot of video games this week
after the victory.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Oh, we're back, not locked in.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
I like the Dolphins tomorrow's headlines. I refuse to bet
this game because I just Cleveland is unwatchable. Ravens at
the Browns.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
I probably should not have gotten involved in this game.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
I mean there's a lot of unknow divisional matchup, right,
Ravens off of a short week.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Jameis Winston, what are we expecting from him?

Speaker 5 (24:41):
The headline will be bird droppings, brown stains don't wash
out easily.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
I'm sorry, Cleveland. I would just give me the Ravens
to win this. Now.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
The cover is gonna be it's gonna be a little
tougher at a big number.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
I'm seeing eight. This was close to ten.

Speaker 5 (24:57):
Some buyback on the Browns because you know it's a
divisional matchup. I just don't know what I'm getting from
Jameis Winston, So I'm like, do I want to get
involved in?

Speaker 1 (25:03):
I would never trust him in a big spot. Also,
Baltimore's defense isn't great, but because they always lead, you're
always playing from behind, and their pass rush is decent.
So it's like, if my defense isn't great, but you're
always playing from behind, it makes my defense better.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
What do you do with the Ravens?

Speaker 5 (25:20):
Like they were up thirty four to ten and then
the defense goes to sleep, which they've been known to do.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Right, are both blown some big leads.

Speaker 5 (25:26):
Then they give up an onside kick, and it's like,
so is this defense that bad? Because Jamis if you
just drive him drop back fifty times, maybe a pick six,
but probably four touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
I just I'm done getting in front of the Ravens.
They are as the kids say, a wagon. I mean
with Henry, I see Zay Flowers is injured, he may
not go, but like Mark Andrews rejuvenated, yes.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
Catching touchdowns yep.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
I just Ravens to me look like they're as good
as the Chiefs or better.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
Okay, So I love your courage here tomorrow's headlines Today,
let me guess Panthers at the Brons, will Jmack finally
join the bow and nicks a train?

Speaker 5 (26:04):
Colin, you know historically you bet on double digit favorites,
you're not gonna win money long term.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
But if you want to get in bed with an
eleven point dog, you're probably gonna get some pleas.

Speaker 5 (26:14):
That headline will be, Guys, I'm going organics.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
Both swears off losses.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
I had to go with your guy, Boch. Sorry for
my valley girl. It's not really up to stuff here, folks.
This line is insane. However, within the last hour, Carolina
Panthers just announced Deontay Johnson is out, will not play,
Adam Thielen is out, will not play.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
Oh you want to go look at the Panthers receivers.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
You're like, what e Xavier Legette and some dudes I've
never heard of, Colin. It is bleaking Carolina and you
don't want to start the like are they tanking? Is
there a locker room revolt against Canalis? But this offense
is dreadful?

Speaker 4 (26:51):
How do they get fourteen points in this game?

Speaker 5 (26:53):
I don't see a path to success for them with
Bryce Young at quarterback Andy Dalton at.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
The car Wreck?

Speaker 1 (26:57):
How about Denver?

Speaker 4 (26:59):
Listen? Can they cover ten and a half eleven?

Speaker 1 (27:02):
I must stay away on this one, but I do
think they win.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
Ad minute, you're a little scared. You don't like to
get in.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Well, I think I think the story for Denver this
year actually hasn't been bo Nicks. It's they're getting like
a real pass rush. Yeah, and they didn't add a
lot of pieces because they can't afford them because of
Russell Wilson's deal. But like Denver's defense is top five
in the league.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
You want to get exotic, you just pick your defensive
player for a defensive touchdown and that's gonna be in play.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Patrick Sartain obviously very good.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
All right tomorrow's headlines today. This was almost a pick
for me, the final one. I said no on Giants
at the Steelers. I passed Jay macwoon.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
It hasn't been good for me on Monday night football
games this year. I had the Jets, Remember I had
the Bucks. It's just Monday night football games are wonky.
But I got involved with this one. The headline will
be won't you be my neighbor? Giant Sweater too? Snug
for Steelers. I'll go to Malak Neighbors and Daniel Jones.
I teased this number earlier, Daniel Jones in Prime Time

(27:58):
one in twelve.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
It was terrible.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
The lights get bright, Joes, what are you doing? However,
this is a bet against the Steelers being favored by six.
This is the largest spread since Big Ben retired For
Mike Tomlin, I don't think they're gonna be able to
cover that. Outside of that Jets bloodbath in the second half,
Steelers don't really run away and.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
Hide from anybody.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
All their games are close because Tomlin plays a conservative
brand of football right, a lot of Naj Harris Jalen Warren.
I'm just hoping the Giants can cook up something. Number
one thing should be, Hey, we're gonna double team TJ.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
Watt.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
The Jets did a pretty good job on Watt, right,
pretty good until he batted down some passes. But uh
give me the Giants getting six in a Monday night game.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
That is gonna be a tough one.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
And finally, Tomorrows headlines today Yankees at the Dodgers World
Series tonight on Fox.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
So I'm sure you'll be front and center for some
of these games. I'm trying to get tickets, but it
is a little pricey. Obviously, I was born in New York,
so I'm a Yankees fan coming out here.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
I root for the Dodgers. I go to games, so
this is a tough one for me. The headline will the.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
Spooky bets Judge scares pants off la.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
We got the censored there. I'll take the Yankees in seven.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
Obviously, this feels like a toss up, could go go
either way game, as you like to say, this is
a really solid Dodgers lineup, very solid Yankees lineup, but
the edge slightly pitching.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Yeah to starting pitching, big edge Yankees bull.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Then's kind of a toss up. This is gonna be
a great series.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
I expect a lot of runs, not a great pitching
matchup in any of the games.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
There's no like, oh, can't wait for that.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Yes, I think Yamamoto against Garrett Cole is probably that's
the best pitching matchup in the series.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
Where are you on Flaherty. I know some people are.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
The stories are he has lost velocity in his fastball.
But as Dave Roberts you heard him earlier on our show,
we don't have any other options. So I think the
Dodgers are in a weird space. They have exhausted their
bullpen to get past the Podres and the Mats, and
it may work against the Yankees. If the Dodgers win
this series, it's just because the Yankees bullpen couldn't get

(30:00):
him out. The Yankees starting pitching should be fine against
the Dodgers. It's six innings on six, seventh, eighth, ninth,
That's where the Dodgers will eat. And it really comes
down if the Yankees bullpen. It doesn't have to be great.
If it's good the Yankees because they're starting pitching big
edge Yankees in this series.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
I'm sure you've seen the report.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
So tonight is like one of these massive nights in
Los Angeles for sports. You've got USC playing at home,
you've got the World Series, you've got an NBA game,
you have a concert I believe at the Forum, and
then you've got some big high school football game and
so far, like traffic is going to be crazy. It's
a great night to be a sports fan in La.
Led of course by the World Series.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Yeah, this is I mean, the last time they met
in the World Series is what nineteen eighty one. I think,
isn't that it?

Speaker 4 (30:45):
This is like a three or four TV night.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
You gotta have the NBA on on side TV, and
you got to watch USC because you mentioned Lincoln Riley
and I don't know, man, he's got to win this game,
preferably with margin.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
Yeah, there won't be many people there is. The Dodgers
and the NBA will soak up a lot of the
sports fans. Yeah, that's just the reality.

Speaker 5 (31:06):
I think the World Series got fortunate, not only the matchup,
but the Friday Saturday games.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
You're not really going up against any NFL games.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
But yeah, by the way, Major League Baseball Friday Saturday
not playing Sunday playing Monday. Very smart by Major League Baseball.
They don't want to take on the monster and the NF.
Remember the WNBA went toe to toe with the NFL.
It's like, what are you doing?

Speaker 4 (31:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (31:27):
And then the Monday night matchup Giant Steelers, two blue bloods,
but they're not like sexy teams.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Quarterback nobody Yeah, I mean nobody in New York and
LA cares about the Steelers, right like that. The the
LA crowd is watching the Dodgers, They're not watching Monday
night football. Yeah, all right, Week eight NFL schedule here
it is, there's gonna be an upset. I don't think

(31:53):
it's a huge upset. Washington at home beats even with
Marcus Mariota beat Chicago is probably the one I would
bank on. Is there one you would bank on?

Speaker 5 (32:02):
No, we didn't talk a lot about that Raiders Chiefs game,
the Patrick Mahomes Kermitry Frog.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
It feels like to me it's always fairly close, and
Toonio Pierce.

Speaker 4 (32:12):
The Raiders will be coached up and it'll be close.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
I saw Jack Jones said something dumb at his locker
about Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
He's just another quarterback. Whatever, dude, don't poke the bear.
This could be a game. I feel like the Chiefs
win by forty or it's a close game. Right, there's
no mini.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
I think it's the spreads nine and a half. I
think the Raiders at home. Remember the Niners just played
San Francisco. They're still a little banged up. I think
it's close. I think it's a competitive game. I'll take
the you know, twenty seven to twenty Chiefs win by
a touchdown, Raiders cover. If I had that out, Yeah,
all right, we will see you Monday. Have a great weekend.
