The Luka Doncich Return Game is in the books. Anthony
Davis forty seven points, Jason Kidd played tonight triple double.
(01:15):
Jason Kid triple double, ten points, ten rebounds, tennis No
Luka Doncich forty five points for the Lakers in his
emotional return to Dallas forty five, eight rebound, six assists.
He had thirty one in the first half, and the
Lakers cruise by the Mavericks one twelve to ninety seven. Yes,
(01:35):
eighty did play much like the National title game with
Clayton on Monday, and I took him a while to
get into the store. Beat the hell out of him thirteen,
eleven and six. But it doesn't matter. This was Luca's
night again. Forty five points, sixteen out of twenty eight
from the floor, seven to three pointers. This was exactly Look,
it's one of those games where for the Lakers, I
(01:57):
actually have more to say about the Mavericks aspect of it.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
For the Lakers, it was.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
One of those games you're looking forward to, but you
also want to get passed. Right, here's an emotional return.
The playoffs will start next week, all right, we gotta
get it's a big deal. We want to come out,
especially off the last night with the rescinded technical foul.
We want to get out. We want to make sure
Luca has a big night. We want to win this
game because we want to finish as high in the
standings as possible. We don't want to lose home court
(02:21):
in the first round of the playoffs, and mission accomplished
for the Lakers. It's a big sigh of relief. We
can check this game off and now we can move on. Hey,
you clintch a top second six finish. Now that you
won this one, we get to watch Denver play next. Boy,
I'm so excited about that. But well, I'm coaching this game. Yes,
I'm coaching. Yeah, hey, let me said Robot Smith. Hey,
(02:44):
his time for the pregame huddle with the team. Hang
on a second ahead, guys, Uh, get the ball to Jokich. No, no, no,
on every possession, just get it to him all the time.
And then if you get an easy put back, at
easy put back, but get it to Yokich. Okay, good, guys,
go do it. We'll see the first time out. Coach,
you forgot the second part. But he got the other
guy fired. He can get you gone to Oh I'm sorry, guys,
(03:06):
Play with joy, play with energy, play with abandon. I'm
not gonna rip you to the press after and say
you don't watch film or you know you guys don't
get it.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
No, I love all of you, guys.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
This is the gene Hackman part where I say I
love you guys at the end. Now go and play
with joy. Okay, I'll see it the first time out. Yeah,
and I say that, But it's one of those that
coming off of last night's game, right, motional and anger
and all of that. The rescinded technicals a whole other mess.
But you just wanted You're glad you had a game tonight,
(03:38):
so you can get whether it's the Mavericks or somebody else,
just get the taste out of your mouth from that one,
because you're still salty about how that game went. Right,
you're fighting the top team, your your neck and neck
and then they cut your legs out from under you,
and you can fight about it, and you know, reputation, calls,
all of that come into play.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
But for for.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Luca, and he came out shooting well right, that was
the There's been the knock during his time with the
Lakers is the outside shot hasn't always fallen and if
he struggles there that other parts of the game tend
to follow. And he started hitting from beyond the arc
for whatever reason, they never decided to double him on
(04:17):
drives or any time he had the ball, because which
is what the Lakers did to Anthony Davis. Anytime the
ball came anywhere near second man was on it. They've
had three and four guys on him. It wasn't he
had nowhere to go about box in one minute, where's
the box all around Anthony Davis. So a really emotional game,
Luca in tears the beginning. They had a big video
(04:39):
tribute for him. Here's his first bucket back in Dallas
following the trade earlier to the Lakers.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Got it now?
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Where goes Colors ended up with seventy seven on his back.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
We'll get it right back, Luca. The crowd on their
feet and he knocks down the triple. Sarah was Billy
Max Dulance Lakers TV. Again. You knew it was one
of those nights.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Luca is a very emotional player, so you knew coming in, Hey,
he's gonna go for a lot. He's gonna score fifteen
in the first quarter. Easiest bet.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
No, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
I'm not gonna sit here and tell you what to
do with your money, but wow, when you told me
a few minutes ago thirty was the over, thirty and
a half of the over for his points tonight, I
would have said, are you kidding it?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Cashed?
Speaker 1 (05:22):
It made that line? What lunatic made that line? He's
gonna have fifteen in the first quarter. Of course he's
going over thirty. Well, but the expectation is that you
know they'd play defense and not go Who is it
on Kobe Bryant that allowed him to go for eight?
You want sam Mitchell Saguard? Oh yeah, So we just
wanted to get sam Mitchell in on this. But you know,
from the Dallas side, you know that there'd be some pride.
(05:45):
You had your interior defensive players back when you talk
about Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford being back and all of that,
but it didn't matter. Seven to ten from three point range.
You cash that ticket at halftime because he had thirty
one for the total, it was just forty seven and
a half. Yeah oh yeah, sure, sure points rebounds and
assists and and you walked past that really easy licking
(06:07):
bills right about now. Jason Smith Mike Harmon live from
the Tireck dot Com studios. Now here's the big takeaway
from the game. And if you listen to it, you
watch any of it, you probably heard a very familiar
chant going up through the arena. Every time Luca touched
the basketball, he was cheered. He would make a bucket,
he was cheered. Now, the Mavericks fans cheered for their
players as well, but not quite as loud as they
(06:29):
cheered for the guy in purple and gold wearing number
seventy seven. So take a look, take a listen if
you can hear the chant going up throughout the arena
in Dallas during this game while Luca is just torching
the Dallas Mavericks.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
You know, sir, every day, you know, I came in
and prepare you or he could get myself back thp
you know, so I can.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
I'm sorry, I'm not trying to sell this. That's not
that's the wrong chance.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
That was the Mas that got themselves the fans on
the jumpbo and then they turned around and it said
sell the team on the back. Although I would say
I think they probably want to sell the team. It's
the ownership that made this as well. Yeah, I'm trying
to wear a few of those chance or screams with
some explotives inserted therein. But you know, Mavericks fans wanted
to fire somebody. So let's just listen to see who
(07:13):
they wanted to fire in the game. Yeah, the fire
Nico chance for gm Nico Harrison continuing to resound through
the arena. But but here's the thing, this is, here's
here's where Isaac. When you think I'm gonna say it's
(07:34):
only following orders the Lakers win, who's gonna do We're
just following order?
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Downey.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Downey wasn't in the room. I think that would have
been important to know. It doesn't matter. We put Jess
up on this stand. We get oh, we get it
from him. We just we just get it from them.
We get it for Okay, should we or should we
not follow the advice of the galactically stupid? Yeah, baby,
let's go. That was how used to win. That's that's
Mavericks fans really well done. Practically stud Uh. It was
(08:05):
like I said, it was a night where you could
feel the electricity in the arena. It was a bad
night for the Mavericks in the win lost column, but
it was a good night for them because now is
the first time when as a franchise they can feel, Okay,
we've hit the bottom, We've had the final bit that
(08:25):
we were looking forward to that we had to get past,
right because they're morning losing Luka Doncic, they're still mourning
the state of the team.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Are they gonna trust what's going on?
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Should we not follow the advice you have Tom galactically
stupid in that works.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
But this is that this was the moment.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Where if you're the Mavericks and I think unconsciously, if
you're a Mavericks fan, this was the game you were
waiting for. But for the Mavericks franchise, it's okay, we
got to get past the first Luca game back here.
We'd love for it to be tomorrow because we can
get back. But it's a big emotional release for the
fans who are still upset. And look, they'll get on
board if the Mavericks start winning next year. And suddenly, hey,
(09:04):
here comes Kyrie and ad and look at them, and
they add somebody else in the office because look, they
have money to spend because they're not giving three hundred
and fifty million dollars to Luka Doncic. So if you know, hey,
there's time for that. But you got to get past this,
you gotta you gotta take it all down to the
studs before you build up, to build the team back up,
and by that. I mean, you build a relationship back
(09:25):
between the franchise and the fans. You let the fans
have an emotional release, and now they all realize, Okay,
we're at the bottom. Now we're at ground zero for everything,
and now we can just build back and go forward.
Luca's not coming back. We were thinking about it. It's
on my mind. We came back, we said goodbye. It
was very cathartic, and now we can move on as
a franchise. So this is a big day for Dallas.
(09:47):
It's a positive day for him because again, like the Lakers, hey,
emotionally you want to get past.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
It's a big deal for Luca. We're getting ready for
the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
For the Mavericks franchise, Okay, we got to rebuild trust,
we got to rebuild excitement in the team. Want to
make sure we're selling season tickets. This is the day
we have to get passed. And now they got passed.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
They lost.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Okay, not that big a deal, Not like this is
a loss that suddenly hey, it's killing this hope or
this hope. The Mavericks are a team that they don't
have a lot right Kyrie got hurt, ad couldn't get
back in the lineup. They understand this is one of
those lost kind of seasons, but for them it's now.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
It's more.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
It's so valuable from the mental aspect to be of Okay,
now I'm at peace. It happened. I deal with it.
The name on the front of the jersey is still
more important the name on the back. Even though I
hated the trade, I'm still a Mavericks fan. And now
I go for any franchise that loses a long time
player something like this, a very shocking trade. You need
that cathartic moment, and that was tonight for the Mavericks.
(10:41):
So now they can really start to build back up.
And I'm telling you, a healthy Mavericks team would have
been in the in the top fourish of the playoffs
this year because adding Ad with a healthy Kyrie, they
would have been They have a pretty good supporting cast,
they would have won a bunch of games. They would
have been in the top They probably would have been
a top six ers team. But when Ad can't play,
Kyrie gets hurt, what are you gonna do. It's one
(11:02):
of those things. But this team will be back up
next year. They have an off season make right moves,
but this was a day they had to get by. Yeah,
I mean, you got a two and a half point
game lead over the Suns. Who will see what kind
of effort we get out of them against OKC after
that debacle their last time out. But you look at
a squad and a city and I know there's some
(11:24):
why would you celebrate this?
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Why would you do this? Like?
Speaker 1 (11:27):
No, because it's good. It's a cleansing for the fans
and everybody. As you say, Now, I like that Luca
and his people were petty and there were a bunch
of business opportunities to sit for the Mavericks and they said, no,
you're not gonna do them, which was kind of cool.
Different little sponsor activations and things with the court and
whatever that they played a little game of pettiness there,
(11:48):
I know for the longer term, and we talked about
this at the time of the trade. It wasn't just
the Luca contractor not paying out. That's great in terms
of roster building, but as a franchise, you've got to
go figure out where a lot of those funds are
coming back from. It's like if suddenly the Dodgers found
out that shoheo Tani was leaving, not that you would
trade him away, but if he.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Goes, a lot of that money goes. Look look what
the Angels.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
I mean, they're a nice little surprise here the first
couple of weeks of the season, But as soon as
he left Anaheim, it's like, wow, look at all of
that revenue that walked out the door. And for Luca
and Dallas it was the same thing. So they've got
a long term, giant, gaping hole that they'll need to
figure out there. But for tonight, it's a big celebration.
I mean, what'd you want a montage of him eating
(12:33):
French fries and drinking a beer with his dad in
the hallway and then seeing if you get a good
response when Michael Finley takes it away.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
No, I don't think you are. I don't think you
could do that.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
I think you're gonna celebrate all the good moments, the
romp to the NBA title round and opportunities and what
he was. You played time of your life. Good riddance,
and you move on. Here's your T shirt. I'll go
let's get back to the games. No, I mean, really,
it's it's it's something to be said for that because
it is you are mourning a loss like these Maverick
(13:04):
I'm sure the Mavericks fans are still stunned that they
don't have Lucer Like. It's still one of those things.
It doesn't seem real, Like I get right now, it
doesn't seem real. The Jets had Aaron Rodgers. We had
him for two years, right like we hadhim. It doesn't
seem real, doesn't seem like it really happened. Well, here's
the thing though, because it blends in with the twelve
years of futility before it.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
M that's true, you know what I mean, Like if
it had Aaron.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Rodgers coming in and he's putting us over the top
because we're right there, but still that we didn't have
any of anymore, we didn't have we'd have any bigger
expectations than we had with Rogers.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
No.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
I just it was like, you guys are just gonna stink. Yeah, okay, now,
but now we're not. Now we stake So I get that.
It's still it's still that sort of a that sort
of a moment of still trying to reconcile it in
your head. And that's why tonight it really is really
a big deal. For the fans, for the media, for
the team, for their relationship, for moving forward, for being
being at the bottom and saying, Okay, now we're gonna
(13:57):
build back trust, We're gonna build everything towards You needed
a night like that, So that's why I said I
They probably wish they had it months ago so they
can say, all right, hey, we traded Luca. We played
next week here they played. They played against him in
Los Angeles. That's not the same thing. So now for
the Mavericks, I was, okay, now we can move on.
Ad didn't get to play in that game, right, he
was unavailable, So now he got on the court here.
(14:18):
So you have the catharsis of all of that. And
obviously the guys that played with Luca, they were expected
to finish their careers with him. That was gonna be
the guy that was going to be setting them up
for major contracts down the line. He ain't there right,
So now it's the how do you move on? In
your locker room? You saw all the video of him
walking around the facility and hugging all the people that
(14:38):
he hadn't seen. Oh yeah, guys running out of their
offices arms filled with stuff like because they heard he's
walking down the hall. I didn't want to miss him.
You be doing right now. He just got Michael Finley's attention. Hey,
Michael Finley. Boom, and he's just shot gun in a
whole beer.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Tall boy.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Can't take it from me, can't take it from me yet.
Here's a schlitz. I got the cheapest one I could get.
I'm just I was hitting this bad boy. Yeah, buddy,
where's my vape pen? I'm gonna be vaping out of
my ear at the same time I'm shot gun of
that beer. I was going full old style from my
old Polish neighborhood in Chicago, Jimney Pivo, you know, going down.
(15:16):
So congratulations to the Lakers, Luca donc It's a big game.
You saw the emotion in the even before tip off,
right Lebron and he exchanging some words. He's like, come on, man,
I need you and Luca's got tears in his eyes
and go out and he hammered him.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
So big game.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Some nights are just about emotion and how you deal
with things, and that's what tonight was from both sides.
So look again, it's a big you know, big zig.

(16:49):
the Lakers win over the Mavericks tonight, Luca Dots's first
game back in Dallas following the trade. I mean, I
want to just shot gunn of beer in front of
Michael Finley and go, blank you man, blank you you
double double fist one like your stone cold Steve Austin.
You can't here chuck that guy a beer or he's
doing it. And then Rob Polinka comes out of nowhere
and take it from and go.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Come on, I went throw it over here. Come on,
I'm gonna do it over here too.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
And then they both wave at a camera. Hi Nico,
Hi Michael, Hey guys.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
I want that video.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
I want video of Lucas shotgunning a beer and in
front of Michael Finley where Michael Finley's got a watch.
That would be a be a nice touch to the
to the end of this game. After putting up forty
five on he just watches helplessly going that's the one
that got away. Cause but in the end, Nico's the poor,
(17:46):
unfortunate soul that has to wear it in all of this.
Many literally would just give it orders. We're not gonna
resign this guy. Go make something happen. He called his friend, figuring,
let's do this as quietly as possible, because otherwise I
get roasted in every market. Just shot gun in that beer,
(18:11):
come on, ready go? Or like what like an inverted
keg stand where like Lebron and Hotchamore are holding him
up and he's doing the he's doing the hit on
the off the tape, one of.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Those mini kegs that that you can get that.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Or a course party ball.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Yeah, yeah, I like the way you think. I like
the way you talk. I like the way you so.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Is it club dub like the Bears now where there's
a disco ball?
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Oh you know? And like the Mavericks locker was really quiet.
You just hear the coming from the lake. One by one.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
They all just kind of slide and getting into you
don't hear anything, and then you hear the door open.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
It just here and I told him I was gonna
drink that beard. He and the door opens again. You
got that guy back. You're all going to faith so
we can't see some.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
You know what The best postgame interview would have been, though,
Luca's old man.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
Right, because he went and he gave him a hug,
and you could just see that their eyes kind of
log like, yeah, got this one, like see you later,
and off Luca went for the media responsibilities and everything else.
But there's just that moment on the court. I'm like,
I need that on a trading card, all those instant
cards that we're doing in celebration of big moments. That
(19:26):
one there, Luca hugging his old man, like, yeah blank,
those guys, hey, forty five points, man, I took a
lot out of me. I need some liquids after the game.
Oh you need some one?
Speaker 3 (19:36):
No, no, no, no, no no. Bring over that Miller
light right here. I'm gonna have some liquid. I feed
my ass. Yeah, let me get some.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
So send that to the a yso kids drink beer.
Where's where's that mikel where's that michelob twelve pact?
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Do we have it?
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Let's sitting around the Islet's open that up, man, Let's
open it up, open it up. Shot to be here,
shot to be here, tied to me, here, tied to me,
Luca with.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
The last laugh to night. They're all laughing. Then the
door opens again in here I got friends in load hey,
and we need to vacate.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
They we gotta get the last security guards home, so
we need to vacate. And then they start playing you know,
either a journey song or that good Riddance again, just
a city boy God and raising Dallas danzents and the
door closes again.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Oh that would be the best. That would be the best.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
It would be great if I had action figures to
map this all out. Yeah, well, you know what, here's
the thing. You can get one I can't. Uh, yes, well,
part of the night obviously, Look it was Luca's knight.
Lebron James still had a big night for Fish twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
A very a very quiet.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Night early on, but as the Lakers threw the hammer
down in the second half, they busted out to a
twelve fourteen point lead. Dallas cut it to six at
one point, but it was never serious after that. Lebron
James now has his own Ken doll and there's video
of this that's out today. And really been a big
last twenty four hours for the Lakers. But yeah, the
(21:14):
game against Oklahoma City, Luca getting tossed, the tea getting rescinded,
Lebron's got his own ken doll.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
It's a lot of emotion, it is.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
And I mean, and I gotta be honest when when
when I saw this story, Okay, here comes Lebron Kendall,
all I'm thinking of is, you know, how did they
screw it up?
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Right?
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Because all you see when stuff like this has made
it's this doesn't look like him.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
It doesn't look like the guy. And now they do
these crazy ass scans like who's the who's the one?
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Isn't that the one artist that that had the the
in Colorado did the portrait of of Trump and and
it looks so bad that had.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
To get rid of the artists. I think my career
is over now. It's like, oh, think about what was
the statue? Was soccer?
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Oh yeah, yeah yeah it was sure a Simpsons excellent.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
That's get Ronaldo. Look at all the famous players in
the league to come out and play Smith is. So
it looks pretty good. And it's weird.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Crown, it's got the varsity now the colors are weird.
But I guess it's just, hey, this is Lebron Doll.
Nothing with the Lakers. It's it's it's it's royal. Blue
and white are the main colors of this, but it
looks pretty sweet.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
And I gotta.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Say, man, in the last thirty years, I always think
the number one the number one product that's had the
most advancement in the last thirty years that I consume
is ice cream. Right, Like you go back in the
in the late like Ben and Jerry's was a cottage
industry and nobody really knew what the hell was going
on all these crazy ass flavors. Now you can get
(22:45):
so many different flavors anytime you want anywhere. With the
advancements in ice cream the last thirty years are insane.
The advancements in toy dolls from what I expected this
to look like where it's at is insane. I mean,
not just to talk about the funk Go big heads
that we have, but all the dolls out there. But
this Lebron James Ken doll looks fantastic. No, but that's
the scariest scans are I mean, because we've seen it
(23:09):
in video games. Right, go back and take Tom Brady
at the beginning of his career when he appeared on
video games versus what they look like with the three
D scans and green screen technology and everything that you
do and it's it's night and day.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Same thing here.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
When you talk about action figures, keep an eye on
all of those marketplaces as stuff hits the toy aisles
at Target and whatever else, because there's always the chase
variant that if you should happen upon a restock, much
like trading cards, Pokemon cards, et cetera. If you're not
fighting with someone in line and you get lucky, then
(23:45):
maybe you find the variant. But looking at some of
the the faces, the tattoos where they're allowed to and
it's not a trademark fight, it's really kind of scary.
Seventy five bucks. We've seen this before. They've done it
with the Jordan Knight. There was an Elvis collection, there
was a Stevie Nicks that sold like hotcakes last year.
On the other side, but yeah, adding another Ken doll
(24:08):
seventy five bucks, you can add Lebron James. Well, and
here's the thing, and here's where I can make even
more money. Can tell is that this Lebron doll is
pretty good? Can't we have like fifteen more Lebron dolls?
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Like how many? There's all different, like all the Barbie.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
There's Malibu Barbie, and there's Barbie Barbie who was a doctor, right,
and there's Barbie who was a lawyer, and then there's
bikini Barbie and all the different reason that we said
Lebron had his own thing with all the old Lebron's.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Yeah yeah, and who who was what was that? What
was it? What was the dolly? They discondict him, saying
we discontinued.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Will Ferrell kept running away from.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Sorry, I forget the name. I haven't watched it.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
Discontinuecontinued, I mean in the choice between Robbie and and
Gosling versus Gosling and Emma Stone, La La Land always wins.
I mean, look, oh there there's Alan. I mean there's Alan.
He was like, you know, we discontinued, you like, but
I forget who it was. But like Michael Sarah is
standing off on the side of like, I want a
(25:11):
Lebron where it's him in the post where he's yelling
at j R. Smith after he takes the show. Yeah,
famous meme. I want one of him.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
In the shorts, in the suit that was the shorts when.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
He got.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Want man bag Lebron James, right, I like he was
channeling Angus young Man.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Didn't want to go full on angle.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
You needed all hat on like this, just thinking all
the different hopping around with a guitar like I want Lebron.
I want the Saint Vincent Saint Mary's Lebron where he's
got the uh uh, the hum Vy controls in his hand,
like all the difference you can Lebron Co Brandon thing
because Mattel's got the the w W E license and
they do the limited things. You could do it when
(25:51):
he was coming out of Saint Vincent Saint Mary and
he was at an early Monday night raw with his
foot through the taking video in the crowd. I mean,
you can just recreate that scene. This is Lebron with
a full beer. This is Lebron. Different hairlines. Which one
did you get? Did you get new hairline, new paint job,
(26:12):
old painte job?
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Dude? Okay, did you get the one?
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Now?
Speaker 1 (26:15):
There's a lot of controversy over one of his most
recent trading cards because it's a great picture of him
taking a shot. Uh and but it's got the giant
bald spot. So some folks are like, wow, why they.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Do them like that.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
It's a great looking card though, so like the low
numbered you know, parallels are selling quite well. But it's like, oh, man,
I mean really, but that there's like fuf the top
of my head, like yeah, let's get all those man,
let's get all of those in and then you get
a Bronny and now he's got a family. Oh you
the bron Lebron with Bronni one. Yeah, that's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
I like that. Say you can look, look how big
a deal that is.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
We just made a different all of a sudden tells
because you know people are gonna.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Buy all the different there's fifteen. We gotta have all
of them. You got a three D printer.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Here's our mockups of all these different Lebron's.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
This hey, Mattel, think.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
This says Mattel is spelled m a t e l L. Yeah, Mattel,
that's how that's what it is.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
This Mattel with the problem is like with the sunburst. Yeah,
it's Mattel m a t e l L.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
We start getting into import problems in terms of our
costs if you want to do that, because if we're
going to outsource those elsewhere, I mean not necessarily the tariffs,
we got ninety days.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
We can got ninety days to get that done and
have to might be a long lead.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
Oh you think of long more than ninety day, and
I mean think think about how long it took to
get those big ball of shoes.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
No, yeah, but that's it what he said. When when
when uhh?
Speaker 1 (27:42):
When they asked him why nobody was getting them, and
LeVar Ball said, everybody knows shipping slow during the holidays.
Oh right right, God forgot about that for nothing on shelves. Yeah, yeah, Like,
isn't it wasteland? Didn't he run that out of his house,
like out of his out of his living room, dining room. Hey,
put them in here, sell them out. Put them in here,
sell them out. But really did you talk about I
mean really, the doll look really sharp. And in this
(28:03):
age of memorabilia, fifteen more you can have. I gotta
have all fifteen. I gotta get this one. I gotta
or you have some kind of release party where some
of them are really sought after, some of them are mass.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Released, some of them are not. No that shit.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
You got to have the Chase variants. And then you
get his friends. So here's my buddy, the Slim Reaper,
and you make it Kevin Durant, Yeah, oh there, you
got any any talks to he goes you don't like it?
Speaker 2 (28:26):
No, why.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Exit out out of Fresco exit swollen down. The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Carbon live from the tirerach dot
Com studios time out to find out what's trending in
the wide world of sports from someone who has been
compared to being the Lebron James of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (28:48):
Because the come got care.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
She's got her own Manse doll coming out via Mattel
very soon.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
I mean I would love that. I would love that.
I didn't know about this, so I once you guys
start talking about it, I went to look for it.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
You know, Lebron Kendall, I did not.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
I did not know about that. So thank you for
bringing this into my life. It does look nice. It
looks like like people would want this. I you know,
I grew up with barbies, So when you were listing
all the different kinds of barbies, I was like, which
one was my favorite? I had Gymnast Barbie and then
she came up with this piece that you put on
her like waists so she would do a cartwheel.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
So like you can be oh so good. I still
have my barbies out of their boxes. I didn't keep anything.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
As long as you have it, like painted on them
and stuff. I don't have any.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
I didn't like cut their hair, dye their hair. I
didn't get crazy like that.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Do you still have the boxes?
Speaker 5 (29:39):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
I don't.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
I have them out of their boxes.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
I mean it hurts the resale market when you have kids.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Now here's and this is a big when you have kids,
now what do you have them and you want to
buy them a toy? You buy them one to play.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
With and one.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Whole rack of funkos. Harmon's got one of those horror
movie people where where like if you find out where
he lives is built on an ancient burial ground and
all the different funcals come to life and attack you,
and they won't let you out that.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
That's right the script Flint and Steel. Wow, you know
what I once did.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
One of the first columns I ever wrote for Yahoo
back in the day was how I was having a
maddening time with my fantasy baseball lineup and my bobble
head started talking.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
To me nice.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
And then six months later there was a George Lopez
episode where yeah, huh interesting, Hi, Hi, You're welcome, You're welcome,
is that what.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Ideas are out there? I mean, they're just out there. Man.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
I don't know exactly how many points Lebron had tonight.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
I don't really care you, Luca, thank you.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Look at Donchitch had forty five, eight rebound six assists
in his emotional return to Dallas as the Lakers top
the Mavericks one twelve to ninety seven. With that win,
the Lakers locked in a top six seed for.
Speaker 5 (30:56):
The playoffs and avoid the play in.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Anthony Davis was five of thirteen for thirteen points and
eleven rebounds. The Bulls outscored the Heat one nineteen to
one eleven behind Josh.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
Getty's triple double.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
This likely means that the Heat are going to be
stuck in the tenth spot in the Eastern Conference going
into the playoffs. Right now, in the NBA, the Nuggets
are topping the Kings and Sacramento thirty three to twenty
five after the first quarter. The Suns, who are technically
still alive, are up on the Thunder thirty six to
twenty nine late in the first quarter, and the Warriors
(31:26):
are beating the Spurs at home thirty two to twenty
eight early in the second. One game is still going
on in Major League Baseball, and it's the Birers who
are all over the Rockies. Ten to two is the
score bottom of the sixth inning. The Twins shut out
the Royals four zero. The Phillies and the Braves were
scoreless going into the sixth inning, but the Phillies hold on.
They beat the Braves four to three was the final score.
(31:47):
Trade turner with the go ahead homer in the ninth inning.
The Rays also edged the Angels five to four. The
Blue Jays had a two to one victory over the
Red Sox in eleven innings, and the Dodgers avoided the
sweep as they be the National six to five. Th
Us got her on this had a two run homer.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
In the win.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
And lastly, on the ice, in a matchup of some
of the top teams in the Atlantic Division, the Maple
Leaves beat the Lightning four to three in overtime.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Back to you guys, now, Monsie, I've already figured out
three barbies for you. Okay, gonna be Then there's update, anchor,
mons update anchor, Monsei. Right, you have the headset on
and the microphone. Okay, there's Dodgers, Monsei. That looking for
the Dodgers. And there's gambling, Monsie, which is you with
the with the with the holding money in one hand
and a cigarette and the other one and a really
(32:35):
upset look like all my parlay's going down the toilet.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
And that's gonna be the big seller.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
There you go. There, that's the one, Moncey jes don't forget.

it's a big sports story.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
About chicken wings. It's next right here, Jason and Mike
Fox Sports Radio. Well, Jason's because he ordered some we did.
Speaker 1 (33:26):

the arm, Chicken Jockey.

five points coming up in about ten minutes. But another
big story today, because when I mean something now has
to do with chicken we you have to do the
story because I could say chicken jockey.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Yeah, you really love that.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Cody Bellinger, who very famously missed yesterday's game with the
Yankees because he came down with the case of food
poisoning because he had a bad batch of wings. Talked
about it today and he said, listen, I was really
down for the count.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
I had an order of.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Wings in my hotel and all of a sudden he
was sick, so sick. Later on, it was really terrible.
I was down for the count. And he says, I
don't think I'm gonna have wings for five years. This
is how bad he was. I can't even think about wings.
Just turns my stomach right now. I'm not gonna eat
wings for five years. I wish you weren't such a liar. Well, see,
(34:59):
here's the thing. When he first said that, I thought
you're gonna have wings, its wings, And I was like no,
because you know what, when I was a kid, right,
I used to eat eggs all the time. And then
my mom told me once when I was like five
years old, five or six years old, that she made
eggs for me one morning, but I wasn't feeling good
and I ate the eggs and I got sick and
(35:20):
she goes and now I'm like, you know, and i'd
never liked, never liked eggs, since never ate eggs, right,
I didn't eat them fifteen years and my mom would
tell me, why don't you I go.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
No, I can't.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
Just just the thought of eating an egg is just it.
It makes me want to get sick.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Like I couldn't have it. I couldn't. So you took
the souice book out of the rotation.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
Yeah, green eggs and no, Like anytime I'd go out
to breakfast somewhere, I'd be, well, I'll have an English muffin,
I'll have pancakes like no egg. No, No, I couldn't
have I couldn't even smell eggs, right, And I dont
even remember this, but it was just so bad that
I couldn't have it. And then I was twenty two.
Definitely twenty definitely over twenty was twenty two. Had a
(36:00):
softball game with a bunch of my friends I was
playing with and they were all I mean there, it
was a new batch of friends that were all great.
We're all going away after the game. We all we
play a game on a Friday night and we drive
up this is State NA, and we drive to a
big cabin in the Poconos. We're all just gonna hang
out all weekend and party, right, So we get up
there and Friday night, all night every all of us,
you know, all of all of the survey sas all
(36:22):
of Oh my god, it's a big night. And so
we all we stay up all night. We go out
to breakfast at eight o'clock in the morning, right, so
I stay up all night. Now it's a twenty four
hour thing because I worked the earlier day. We all
go out to breakfast and I'm sitting there and I'm
just I'm just mad because I'm starving, and I'm like,
I don't want to have another English muffin. And I
see this thing. It says Denver omelet. And I look
(36:44):
at it and I go scrambled eggs, onions, ham, cheese,
And I go, I think I could eat that. I
think I could eat that.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Said.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
I said, I'm gonna have a Denver omelet, and they
say okay, and they brought it, and they brought to me.
All my friends were all just hanging out. I'm going,
this is a huge moment for me. Man, I haven't
had eggs in fifteen years. But I got I gotta
do that. I gotta slay the dragon. Right, and I
had it, and I was like, wow, this is really good.
It's just a chocolate milkshake. Yeah, chocolate milk, chocolate milks.
(37:14):
I put like like some top of TiO saucers or
or can catch up onto something. I'm like, I can
eat this now all right? And now I eat eggs
all the time. I have omelets all the I still
can't eat like fried eggs or eggs over easy, but
scrambled eggs I can have all the time. But I
get it because I can't eat for five years, fifteen years,
just just thinking about eggs just absolutely turn my stomach.
(37:34):
But I needed that one night of you know, having
too much to drink the next morning to say, Okay,
I'm gonna have it, denver omlet, I'm.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
Gonna eat it. Just bring it to me.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Yeah, I had that experience with hot dogs. Someone bought
the brand cheaper night tray filled ones. Yeah. Reaction to
or I look like Mick Jagger running around. Wow, like
lips are swollen everything.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
But dancing in the street.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Damn, it's in in the street anywhere.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Up and around. What happened? My wife still need a
hot dog?
Speaker 1 (38:08):
I've we've been together Portillo and that that's the only
hot dog I'll eat.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
Okay, So I've at least crossed that bridge.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
It's fully loaded, Chicago dog, I can do that all right,
all right.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
But that's that right now.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
But like you can't, like if I were an Oscar
Meyer and you couldn't you could, you couldn't have to
just I've knock on Dodger dog, you couldn't.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
Have not tried it. Wow, Wow, I've been brand loyal.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Okay, whatever, whatever the hell, it's all it's all the
same they just put it's all the same.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
It's all the same parts.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Okay, just so you know, we get the parts in
this part and this part in this part, and.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
It all goes through the extruder and away we go.
What makes the Portillo's Look at the colors. Look at
the color of it, right, it's.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
A little more pink and the other one. But yeah, no,
I understand Tody Bellinger. I get it, man, I'm knocking out.
But wings is something I'm like, but it's but it's wings.
I'm like, wow, it's chicken wings. And I get And again,
I don't know if it was the chicken wasn't done enough,
it was the sauce was bad. If it's the chicken
nut being done enough, I completely get it because I'm
like oh man, I can't even imagine thinking about eating
a big, raw piece of chicken, not even in Minecraft
(39:13):
Chicken Jockey, when you can eat raw chicken and still
get the nutrition you need.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Oh okay, good but no.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
But I went from saying, oh, come on, of course,
not oh no, no, no, I completely get it.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
No, Jochick, I've hoping good things for Cody Bellinger. Yeah,
here's the beauty of it. Plenty of culinary options out there.
He'll be fine. Coming up next, we get back into
the biggest NBA story to night. Luca's returned to Dallas
and a big decision by the.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
NBA just twenty four hours too late. What is it?
We'll tell you Fox bad Chicken, mess you up
