I feel better. He's a good dude. And uh listen
that you got to Atlanta. You're traveling between the cold
weather and the warm weather. The temperature dropped like twenty
degrees out there, and then it was a different It
was went from twenty degrees to fifty degrees. There's a
lot of travel. All that airplanes are dirty, there's germs everywhere.

(02:24):
I mean, then you got Magic City all crazy. Well,
Kristen gets sick from there. It's several in Magic City.
All that money floating around. Jeez, it's all good. That's right.
All right, Let's welcome into the odd couple of Kukas.

of course, our social media guru, he'll take care of

(03:08):
all that for us. So we are in full effect
on this Wednesday. So you know what, Jonas, let's kick
some masks and get the odd couple started damn straight.
And you know, I think everye do you want to start?
I think everybody knows now that this trade ain't happen
because the Pelicans have not gotten back to the Lakers.

(03:28):
The Lakers said yesterday that they pulled out Jonas. Oh yeah,
they were waiting for a counter offer. How are you
get a counter offer when they won't return your call.
They're not interested. It's like getting rejected at a bar
and going back to your buddies and saying, she wasn't
that hot? Are you doing then? All right? Why why'd
you go over? Why'd you make a move? Right? Come on? Man,

(03:48):
It's just like and it's magic Johnson. I get all
that trying to save face, and I understand that the
organization looks bad. Remember, yeah, well I go, hey, you
know what, I didn't want to talk to anywhere. I
hear she has pimple under her big bone of course,
like I didn't like her shoes, you know, like, yeah,
there's always they're AlwaysOn out there, but they want to

(04:08):
say face. They they've been embarrassed. You can try exposed. Yeah,
they got exposed. And now you've got a roster full
of players who were on the air last night when
the Hindenburg was going down in Indianapolis. They were atrocious
from start to finish, and Lebron played in that game.
They lose by forty plus. Players are pissed off. Kyle

(04:30):
Kuzma looked like he was totally dejected afterwards when they
interviewed him. All the drama surrounding Luke Wall all year long,
it's just it's a terrible look for the organization. They
tried to save a little bit of face. But the
fact is you wanted to go all in on Anthony Davis.
You didn't get him. I e failure, bottom line. And
here's a big thing. And I'm serious when I say this.

(04:52):
I know most people would have been shocked to think
that the Lakers Jonas would be twenty seven and twenty seven,
fifty four games in And I'm here to tell you
right here, right now, Lebron James has officially put the
Lakers season in jeopardy. What we thought was an automatic
that they would at least make the playoffs. We had

(05:13):
analysts talking about fifty wins, fifty three wins, second seed
in the Western Conference. I'm telling you it's gonna be
a struggle to make the playoffs in the Western Conference
after what has happened, after the pushback from Lebron James,
where you have now players who know that he doesn't
want them, he doesn't think he can win with them.

(05:35):
This was supposed to be the core of what was
gonna happen with the Lakers. This is why you endured
those bad years to get those picks, to be able
to put together something right. It wasn't that long ago
that Magic Johnson was standing there at the Staples Center
talking about that they were gonna hang a Lonzo Balls

(05:56):
Jersey and the Rafters and now he was gonna race
all the Magic's rikers. Do you remember that? Oh yeah?
And now here we are where they might not Lebron
James team might not make the playoffs in the Western Conference.
It's possible the season is in jeopardy. Don't kid yourself.
And also that's the only thing to bummed me out

(06:17):
about what the Clippers did, because I get the Clippers
trading to Bias Harris. They want to they want to
free up cap space, they want to have assets, they
want to go after some of these big fish in
the off season and potentially swing a big time trade.
Agree with it. Great moved by the Clippers. Helps the
Sixers immediately. The only reason I didn't like it is
because I do think it opens up a spot for
the Lakers because that's one of the teams that's currently

(06:39):
ahead of them, so it makes the path a little
bit easier. But when it's all said and done, this
has not been what everybody expected it to be. This
has not been the season everybody was looking at and going,
you know what, we're good with being twenty seven and
twenty seven. This far into it, they went from projecting.
I was talking with the Straight Out of Vegas guys
before the show, and we're talking the season win totals projections.

(07:02):
Before the year, the over underwin total for the Lakers
was forty eight. Right now they're projected to finish with
forty one wins. They're teetering on the brink of being
a below five hundred team. If you think that's what
anybody signed up four heading into this season. You're insane
or on some sort of meth amphetamine. But it doesn't
make any sense. And you just said it forty eight.
Do you know what they'd have to go, what they'd

(07:23):
have to do to get forty eight wins? Go twenty
one and six. This team can't go twenty one and six.
It's not good enough. The competition in the Western That's
why I'm saying there's a chance. There's a real chance
that they're gonna be in trouble in the Western Conference.
And nobody would have ever believed that a team will Lebron.
Everybody told me, oh, they're gonna be a top two

(07:46):
or three seed in the West. They'll go to the
second round this year. I'm not buying it at all.
And if they do make the playoffs, it will be
at the eighth seed and they'll probably get knocked off
by the Warriors in the first round. They'll get sandblastom
if they even make it. I don't know if the
players are going to recover. Are they going to be
good enough to say? I understand veteran players Jonas had

(08:09):
there been like one or two names mentioned, that's one
thing right, But when you see the whole roster was available,
they butchered it. The to let that come out, I
think it's hurt the Lakers and made people feel like
on the team. And we saw it in Indiana. Not
only did they lose by forty two points, it was
the biggest loss in Lebron James's career. Also, Lebron played,

(08:33):
Lebron was in the game, and guess who didn't play. Oh,
Ladipo didn't play because you know he's been lost to injury.
So they beat you like that without their best player
and the best player quote unquote on the planet played
in the game where he got beat by forty two.
And then there's the picture of Lebron sitting at the
end of the bench away from everybody. Now whether or not,
guys that just walked out, But what was the day?

(08:55):
You know what, though, you want to sell something, you
want to sell some papers, you want to get some clicks.
You got to be creative sometimes. But I will say,
and let me pose this question to you. We both
agree in order to make the playoffs, Lebron's got a
play right, so they've got a gun it He's I mean,
you're down this is the backs. This is the the
what last twenty something games of the regular season, so

(09:17):
they've got to really make a push in order to
make the postseason and make the playoffs, and the schedule
is more difficult. At what point does Lebron James look
at this and go, you know what, it ain't happening
this year and then he starts sitting well, because I
think that's a realistic possibility. That's where a load management comes. Okay,
but I think that's I think that you just love

(09:38):
saying that ever since you left Magic City for some reason.
Load management is like the term you're going to every time. Okay, now,
now listen, here's here's the other here's the other aspect
of it as well too. So Lebron missed seventeen games,
He's missed eighteen games so far this season because of

(09:59):
that at day to day groin issue. So if the
groin wasn't really an issue and they're not concerned about
it moving forward, do you think Lebron maybe could have
returned sooner but he sat out to show the organization
look at what we really got. Maybe, I mean, because
some people are saying that and they think that would
you put it past him that that wouldn't put it
past that. Those guys that you think are some core

(10:21):
for the future, they just aren't that good. And they
weren't that good. They really weren't. If you remember, this
is where I really said, I'm not buying into these guys.
When they lost to the Knicks, came the Knicks have
ten wins. They came to LA and gotta win, and
the Cavaliers had lost twelve in a row. They came
to LA and gotta win. They're bad, both of those teams.

(10:41):
And the Bulls came in after that and gave him
a game and then lost by six or seven, you
know what I mean at the end, but they struggled
with the three worst teams at home. I don't care
if Lebron was playing or not. They still should be
good enough to beat those teams. He didn't even come
out and sit on the bench during the Warriors game
over the weekend. I mean, he didn't play because they

(11:02):
were resting him or load management, whatever dumb term they
want to use these days. But he didn't even come
out and sit on the bench for this team. He
went and sat back in the locker room. And the
excuse I was given over the weekend was he didn't
want to see Javelle McGee get his championship ring in person.
What were they dating is? What are we talking about? Lebron?

(11:22):
You have three already? Yeah, I like everything's an excuse,
it's always it's some cocka mimi excuse. It's all crap.
This season has been a disaster so far, and it's
projecting to finish out a disaster if they can't pull
this trade off. Because now you got a bunch of
pissed off players in the same locker room that told
him you guys aren't good enough to play here. And

(11:44):
I gotta give it up to the fans that in
Indiana last night. We got that sound Indiana last night.
Great great fans, Rob just wonderful fan. I mean, this
is this is now one is uh, Who's who's taking
the free throw? Brandon Ingram and mister untouchable mister yeah,
we're not trading right. Yeah. So so here he is

(12:05):
at the free throw line, and just listen carefully, they're
saying Lebron's gonna trade you. I mean, this is classic.
Here we go. The average sixteen points last year. In
year two, he's at seventeen point two and this last
five it's like it's like an SEC football. I mean,
how classic is that. They're they're in unison as you
can clearly hear it. And then JaVale McGee comes steps

(12:29):
up to the to the line right and you know
what they say, Oh yeah, they said you're not not
worth trading. It's not worth trading. I mean, this is classic.
It doesn't get any better than that. These are these
are fans who know what's going on. Everybody knows it.
And even when they said the same thing was Lebron's

(12:50):
not the Lakers are gonna trade you. Lebron wants to
trade you, right, yeah, they just everybody knows this is
about This is about leb And that's why the players
rolled over yesterday. They didn't they didn't play Yeah you
at some point, and I know we had Ryan Hollins
on yesterday and he didn't want to acknowledge this, but

(13:10):
at some point you have to acknowledge the real possibility
that there is a group of players in the NBA,
whether they're just coming up or some of them are established,
who are looking and going I don't need his shine
to further my career. I can do it on my own.
What did Kevin Durant say, go back, go back? And
what he said that was truth when he spoke that
that playing with him as toxic? Isn't that the word

(13:34):
he used to use? Toxic? And so if you go
back and get that Kevin duranting that things makes a
lot of sense, but very very interesting stuff. All right,
Lebron James. Has Lebron James put the Laker season in jeopardy.
We'll continue with the conversation with you. Hit us up
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. That's eight seven
seven nine nine six six three six nine. It is

(13:56):
The Odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio. Rob Parker jonas
in for Chris Brussard, stick and Stay America Juice. Be
sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple with
Chris Brussard and Rob Parker week days at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeart Radio app. From a car landing on a roof

(14:18):
to a car landing in the pool, we've covered it.
Talk to farmers. We know a thing or two. Because
we've seen a thing or two. We are farmers. Under
written my farmers truck fire Insurance exchanges and affiliates products
unavailable in every state. Oh man, I remember all that.
It is the odd couple of Fox Sports radio people

(14:38):
listening on the podcast right now, like, hell, you're talking
about man, there's no song there? What gets there is?
I'm down with opp Yeah, you know me, that's right, hey, Jonas.
You know, car shopping can be confuseding with terms like
dealer price, list price and in boys Car, True Car
shows you what other people paid for the car you want,

(14:59):
so you can recon as a good price. When you're
ready to buy a new or used car. Visit True
Car to enjoy a more confident car buying experience. And yes,
it is the odd couple of Rob Parker, Jonas Knox
and for Chris Boussard, get well, Chris Broussard, I'll telephone
number eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven

(15:20):
seven nine nine six sixty three six nine. And Jonas,
I do believe that the Lakers season is now in jeopardy.
They're twenty seven and twenty seven. They need to go
like twenty one and six to reach forty eight wins,
which most people believe. That's what it will take for
you to make the playoffs in the West, and their
schedules are grind down the stretch. I mean, I think

(15:40):
they're in the middle of a road trip. They've got
another five gamer I think coming up later on as
well too, with some tough matches. Yeah, there's no guarantees.
And I just wonder at what point does Lebron take
inventory of the year and go, is it really worth
coming all the way back, getting the eight seed only
to get just killed by Golden State and they were

(16:03):
opening round the way Golden State is playing. I want
no part of Golden State. So now you go from
can't beat Golden State in the finals two years in
a row, tony like that. Right, At some point Lebron's
gonna just say, you know what, I'm gonna rest up
or I'm gonna I wouldn't be surprised. I think that's
the way he looks at this roster. That and obviously

(16:24):
there was pushed back last night and that forty two
point loss to the Indiana Paces. All right, uh eight
seven seven ninety nine. Fox, Let's get to some calls.
Mitch in Chicago. You're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What you got, Mitch? Uh, yeah, I was
gonna say. I called back. I called you guys a
couple of weeks. Right, you're a cliff and I told

(16:47):
you that this is a magic to problem list James problem,
and you guys jumped all over me. All right, So
tell me, wait a minute, Wait a minute, wait, wait,
hold on, hold on, I Mitch, Okay, I want to
hear what you have to say. But but explain to
me how this is just about magic and Lebron has
nothing to do with it, because you know what the
crowd chanted last night in Indiana. Yeah, they they they cheat,

(17:11):
they chanted nic and the fans are very perceptive. But
go ahead, Mitch, let me hear your point. Okay, Uh, Lebron,
like you guys, just finished team the scenario that Lebron
can do. Lebron can literally and Rob you signed it
up a moment ago. You said when you you saw

(17:32):
that team, and you said, these role players are not oppressive,
They're not gonna get the job done. And so Lebron
saw the same thing that you saw. You Also, you
guys also have been to say nobody wants to play
with Lebron. Anthony Davis wants to play with Lebron, and
so that and and he could be a recorder stone

(17:54):
for that franchise, so magic and to go and get
him because he knows that he wants to play with him,
and whatever he can do to try to get him,
to try to fe him up and get him over
to that team. He's trying to do it. But you
would not both see that roster and they don't want him, Mitch, Mitch,
let me ask you this, if Lebron James was still

(18:15):
in Cleveland, would Anthony Davis want to play with Lebron?
I think I don't know though. It's it's that and
Rich Paul became his agent and all that, and and
that's fine. I mean, if that's what he wants to do.
Appreciate the call, Mitch, thank you so much. But I'm
with you. Yeah, it's it's it's it's Los Angeles and

(18:37):
what's going on. And also, the Pelicans aren't going to
reward a guy who just threw a hand grenade this
season and their franchise. That's what people don't understand, especially
if you've got Boston sitting there with better assets than
the Lakers or maybe the Nicks with the first overall pitch.

(18:57):
Somebody's trying to tell I forget it was somebody who's
trying to sell me on the idea of the Lakers
have better assets to offer. Look when the Celtics lost
their two best players, Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving, they
were a game away from going to the finals. The
Lakers lost Lebron James, and they've been vomit. I don't
know how you can compare to do it doesn't even compute. Hey,

(19:19):
Mike and Seattle, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What you got Mike? Hey, guys, how are
you doing great? Great? Say? I just want to say
a couple of things. Number One, I am just upset
with Lebron James. I really used to like him, but
now that he is trying to manipulate the NBA, I

(19:40):
just cannot stand it. And the same thing to have
a magic Johnson and Rob Polinka to have these guys
grow a pair because they cannot be manipulated by this
guy anymore. He came to LA not to win a championship.

(20:01):
He came to LA to win months, earn money, and
that is it. Wow, everybody knows that he wanted to
come to LA. He's got about one hundred projects working.
Thanks for to call Mike. What about Matt in Orange County?
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's
up Matt? Hey? Rob? How you doing? Man? Doing great? First,

(20:22):
I want to say I love your show, love it.
Thank you buddy, I'm good, Matt. Thanks. I just want
to say, like, I mean Magic Johnson, I mean Lebron
kind of fell into his lap a little bit. And
what's she kind of done at a GM moving forward,
like not doing well with the draft takes, maybe that

(20:43):
they're trying to get rid of now and just I
feel like miss Halen is a whole situation. It's like
anything falling. He's like on Magic. I know Lebron deservingly
he's getting on a cuff. I mean, Matt, what about Matt? Listen, Matt,
to be fair, I mean he did take Lonzo Ball
over Jason Tatum. I mean so yeah, I think you
know you gotta get credit for that, right. But according
according to new reports, it's Genie Buss's fault. What a

(21:04):
bunch of Oh yeah, we gotta get on that laye
of unbelievable. Everything's a spine job. This entire thing is
a spine job. Well, we're gonna do this, but did
you know this happened? We were gonna know you had
a plan. The plan has failed, right, that's it. That's it.
Appreciate the call. What about jaymin and Georgia You're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Jayman?

(21:27):
How much man? How are you guys doing? Great? Good? Hey?
I just want to touch as a long time Lakers saying, um,
I love the fact that Lebron came to LA, but
I I believe and narrative leading up to this trade
was that this year was not in my opinion, I
didn't think that they were gonna make make it to

(21:49):
the championships this year. So the fact that they wanted
to sell, you know, sell the whole house just to
get Anthony Davis was ridiculous to me because I don't
think anything and Davis's play matches up with what Lebron
normally has no right if they were if they were
to develop the players that they had now, maybe see

(22:10):
who they wanted to keep, trade, get some more cap space,
and then in the next season get some free agents.
Makes it more attractive that way that the players that
they have now, Uh, Lebron has some chemistry with and
you know, possibly next year, maybe get a shot of
the title, but not trying to plug a whole bunch
of new players in that once and trying to make

(22:31):
it work, because we see how that worked last year,
and we see how that worked the first year in Miami. Yeah,
you know what, we appreciate the call. He's right from
this standpoint of nobody was expected. Supposedly, this was supposed
to be the year that they were just Jonas was
gonna look at everybody, see see how they played, who
would work with Lebron, and then they would make decisions.

(22:51):
You know, That's what I thought the year was going
to be. And instead it's like everybody load up on
the boat. We're you know, shipping people out. Look when
he got to Cleveland, almost immediately, Andrew Wiggins has traded
like he has no interest in grooming young players. He's
always been the history. He wants established veteran players, and

(23:13):
so the second he got to LA those young players
had to have had the understanding of, yeah, this is
a different team, this is all different now. Luke Walton
looks miserable. He looks he looks miserable, and he supposedly
has a better roster this year than than previous years,
and the guy looks like he's having a terrible time.
No doubt about it. Is the Anthony Davis trade dead

(23:35):
in the water for the Lakers. We've got the inside
scoop coming up your way next, but first let's get
deb cars it in here for the latest in sports.
What's up deb Hello, gents, Well, it's all NBA at
the moment. The Pelicans are in Chicago for an eight
pm Eastern tip off against the Bulls and had shoot
around before the game. New Orleans coach Alvin Gentry said
the team's gonna sit Anthony Davis until the trade deadline

(23:58):
has passed. Boston is reporting that the Pelicans called the
Celtics wanting assurances on possible packages for Davis after July first.
Celtics reportedly made no promises, but did say no specific
player would be off limits. According to The Athletic Grizzly,
center Marc Gasol didn't travel with a team for their
game Thursday against Oklahoma City. He remains a centerpiece with

(24:19):
a possible deal with Charlotte Heat Or trading Tyler Johnson
and Wayne Ellington to the Suns for Ryan Anderson Ellington's
expected to be released by Phoenix and become a free agent,
and ESPN's reporting that the thunder are among the playoff
teams who would be interested in Ellington if and when
Phoenix does waive him. Forbes released figures today the New
York Knicks, despite being ten and forty three in the

(24:41):
basement of the East, are the NBA's most valuable franchise,
valued at four billion dollars. In the Big Apple. They
got they were in the Big Apple. They got Madison
Square Garden right there at Penn Station. This is the
most valuable property here you could have owned right there.
And they got those euro carts too open. It goes
to the Lakers are right behind the Knicks at three

(25:03):
point seven billion dollars. Your check engine like could signify
a variety of different issues with your car, and the
Audi Zone Fixed Finders service will help you trouble shoot
the issue for free and save you time and money.
Moving to football news, former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops
is expected to be introduced on Thursday as head coach
and GM of the XFL's new franchise in Dallas. We're

(25:26):
gonna be back with the Odd Couple in ten seconds.
But first a word from farmers. From a dog accidentally
flooding a living room to a dog taking a joy ride,
we've covered it. Talk to farmers. We know a thing
or two because we've seen a thing or two. We
are farmers underwritten my Farmers truck fire insurance exchanges that
affiliates products unavailable in every state. It is Fox Sports
Radio's The Odd Couple. Rob Parker, Jonas Knox back to

(25:48):
you guys, Thanks so much, deb and yes, it is
the Odd Couple coming to you live from the Geico
Fox Sports Radio studios. It's easy to say fifteen percent
of more car shorts with Geico. Go to Geico dot
com or call eight hundred nine four seven Auto. The
only hard part is figuring out which way is easy,
easier and Jonas, we now welcome in Tanya Ganggoulie. She

(26:13):
is the La Times Laker beat writer and she joins
the Odd Couple right here on Fox Sports Radio. Tanya,
what's happening? Oh, not too much, just counting down the
hours here. I was gonna say, I know you guys
have been working around the clock this whole thing. Now,
this is just me. You tell me if I'm wrong.
It doesn't feel like a deal with the Pelicans is

(26:33):
going to happen because they haven't gotten back to the Lakers.
Is that the case, Well, I think that the idea
that the Pelicans have been rebuffing the Lakers has been
a little bit exaggerated. What we've been reporting in what
we know is happening is that there have been conversations
between Magic Johnson and Dell Demps throughout this process. And
even though the Pelicans never sent a formal offer back

(26:57):
a formal counterproposal, they've been talking about like what they
would want, and there's been that kind of dialogue. Now
the Lakers finally yesterday steps back and said we're done,
We're done providing offers. Who've made our best offer, and
we're it's all in your hand now. So that's kind
of where things stand, and at this point, the Pelicans

(27:17):
are going to have to make the next call if
something is to happen. I wouldn't honestly, I wouldn't be
surprised if they did that tomorrow before the deadline. Tanya,
do you sense any sort of resentment from the players
on the roster whose names were floated in the potential
trade for Anthony Davis. I think there's definitely some of that.
I think that there's it's it's hard for them to

(27:40):
avoid it. I mean, I'm sure you saw the video
yesterday of what the what the crowd was like at
the Pacers game when they were chanting to the young
guys that Lebron's going to trade you, which is pretty amazing.
That's unlivable, to be honest. Yeah, I mean, I was surprised.
I'm really curious what's going to happen tomorrow night in
Boston because that's a crowd, really rowdy. But you know,

(28:03):
it's hard for them to block it out, and it's
hard for It's hard enough when it's on social media,
and you know they can at least sort of try
to avoid that and just throw themselves into basketball, but
when you're on the basketball court and then it's happening,
it becomes that much harder and it's clearly affecting them.
Ny what about You know, most people think it's going
to take forty eight wins to make the playoffs in

(28:26):
the West, and the Lakers would have to go twenty
one and six from here on out because they're at
five hundred twenty seven and twenty seven. I think the
playoffs are in jeopardy or the season's in jeopardy. Is
that true if this trade doesn't go down. Toward the
end of Lebron's injury, toward the end of the time
that he was out, it became pretty clear that the

(28:48):
Lakers were going to be in a fight to make
the playoffs when he I mean, it's easy to forget now.
When he first had that injury, the Lakers are in
fourth place in the West. They were in pretty good shape.
But it's so They're situation changed so dramatically when Lebron
got hurt and then Russian Rondo gets hurt, and there's
just so many missing pieces. I think. I do think
that without Anthony Davis, definitely their playoff hopes are in jeopardy.

(29:12):
It's the odd couple. Tanya Ganghouli from the LA Time,
she's the Laker beat writers joining us on the program. Tanya,
what is Luke Walton's status with the Lakers leball and
status is fine? Um, you know, there's I think that
there's a lot of understanding in the organization about the
injuries that have happened. I know that as soon as
the Lakers signed Lebron as soon as he actually agreed

(29:35):
to become a Laker. That was the first question on
a lot of people's minds, including a lot of people
within the organization. They wondered, what does this mean for Luke?
But he's got support in the building and I don't
think that this is I don't think that this is
a front office it's going to make any rash decisions. Now,
what happens for the rest of it, Like if they
actually missed the playoffs, will the owner should change their

(29:56):
two and will they start thinking more like this is
an unacceptable you continue to miss the playoffs even with
Lebron James. I mean, you never know how people will
feel in the moment. But for right now, I think
he's okay. And what about Lebron is do you get
a read on him that this isn't what he signed

(30:18):
up for? Uh? Because it seems like he's given up
on the younger players. We talked about it earlier. Has
never been about developing people. You know, he's he's getting older,
he's got a few years left in the NBA. Is
this what you want to do? Has he gone? Because
I thought this first year was supposed to be let's
see what you have. No one was expecting to go

(30:39):
to the championship this year, and then you know go
from there. Has that been sped up because of of
Anthony Davis and maybe what he's seen from the young
guys that the Lakers have, Well, I wouldn't look at
it that way. I think that when you have the
opportunity to get Anthony Davis, which the Lakers did not
think they would have until he quested a trade right

(31:01):
before the deadline, right, I mean before Rich Paul and
Lebron requested a trade, or Rich Paul was on the
record with that. But you know, I think their idea
was always these young guys. We're not going to trade
these young guys unless it's for Anthony Davis. And it
doesn't I mean the lake of being willing to trade
their young assets as pre dates Lebron. I mean, they

(31:23):
don't have anyone left. You look around the locker room.
I was looking for someone the other day to talk
to about D'Angel or Russell making the All Star Game,
and it was hard to find someone because there's only
two guys less who played with him on the Lakers,
and he was a draft pick just four years ago.
He's the second overall pick just four years ago, so
it's it's gone by. I mean, the Lakers have showed
a willingness all in service of bringing in stars. They've

(31:45):
traded D'Angel or Russell to get rid of TMF Moddov's contract,
which opened up salary cap space. They traded away Larry
Nann's junior and Jordan Clarkson again to open up salary
cap space so that they could bring in Lebron. They've
they're willingness to do that pre date. It is very
stark to kind of look at what the kinds of
offers that they've been making and realize that they're willing

(32:05):
to give up everyone, all their young guys if it
means getting Anthony Davis. But this is a swing they
feel like they need to make. She is Tanya Gangouli
covers the Lakers for the La Times, joining us here
it is the odd couple. On Fox Sports Radio, Rob
Parker Jonas Knox in for Chris Broussard. One thing I
noticed when Rajon Rondo and Lebron were both out with

(32:26):
the injuries. I saw a lot of Rajon Rondo encouraging teammates,
coaching them up in the huddle, really trying to fire
up the young guys there. I didn't see a lot
of that from Lebron. Behind the scenes. You're around the
team as much as anybody. What kind of teammate has
Lebron been? Lebron has been a I mean, I think
Lebron has been a good teammate. I think he's figuring

(32:46):
out how to get back into it right now. I
think I was going to mention when you asked me
the last question. One of the things that's so different
for Lebron. One thing that he did not sign up
for was to get hurt. This is not something that
he had been through very much. Is not something that
he goes through a lot. Um. And Lebron's sort of
style of leadership is a little bit different from Rondo's.

(33:06):
Rondo is very hands on and is very um you know,
he'll he'll get in there and he'll talk to guys
in a very animated fashion, and um, you know, Lebron.
Lebron does take a little bit of a more I
don't want to use the word passive because that sounds negative,
but it's just a different style for him. Um. So
you know, I think I think that right now. Every

(33:27):
the tension right now is mostly because everybody's just sort
of worried about what's going to happen, what's going to
happen in the next two days. And even though even
though a lot of the young guys were trying to
convince themselves at one point that this is good, it's
good to be wanted, it's good that other teams are
asking for you. Um, even though that was happening. Now

(33:49):
the conversation has shifted so much because of everything the
Lakers have been, the types of offers the Lakers have
been making, and it's become it's become awkward, for lack
of a better word, around around a team. Well, Tanya Ganguli,
well appreciate you. Tanya from the La Times and if
you want to follow her or on Twitter you should

(34:09):
for all the latest Laker news leading up to the deadline,
and she's at t A n I A g A
n g U l I. Tanya, thank you so much.
We'll appreciate you, and I know you're gonna be busy
over the next twenty four hours, no problem. Thanks for
having me all right, appreciate it. That's a fun team
to cover, you know, from covering teams, we'd say, whatever

(34:30):
one about the Lakers. That's a fun team to go.
There's always something going on, there's no doubt about it. Well,
at least one team in Los Angeles seems to have
its act together. We'll explain that coming up next. It's
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. Keep it locked.
From a hot landing on a car to a load
of concrete falling on one, we've covered it. Talk to farmers.

(34:52):
We know a thing or two. Because we've seen a
thing or two. We are farmers under written. My farmers
took fireingture in six change Phil. It's product unavailable in
every state. It is the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio,
Rob Parker along with Jonas Knox. Chris Bouchard out not
feeling well. We're wishing him well. Hopefully he'll be back tomorrow.

(35:14):
Feel sick, Yeah, get better, Chris, Come on, man, I
know we had that week down in uh Atlanta for
them Super Bowl and then you know, but he'll bounce back.
He was I know, he was on the Herd um
and he battled through that. He made an appearance on
The Herd with Colin Cowherd and and on Disputed both
of them, and I know he struggled. Yeah, so he

(35:37):
took the night off, but we'll hopefully have him back tomorrow.
Speaking of recovering, and we're grouping, let's give it up
to the Clippers. Yeah, good that they made the trade
last night, right, Tobias Harris, Uh, it was shipped off
to Philadelphia. Yeah, they got a nice squad. Now they

(35:58):
got four studs there now right in that Eastern Conference. Yeah,
I don't know. It feels like there's something a little
off there still. I don't know, but they're starting five ers. Ye,
look at when you add JJ Reddick to the rest
of those guys. But my point with the Clippers is
they've traded two of their biggest stars the last couple

(36:20):
of years. Yeah, right, CP three got dealt and then
Blake Griffin was sent to Detroit and they didn't roll
up into a ball and roll into the corner. Hey,
the Lakers got Lebron James. We might as well move
back to Buffalo for people don't know they used to play.
It should be the Buffalo Braves, which should just shuffle
off to Buffalo because we can't do anything in La

(36:41):
Lebron's here whatever. Whatever did they do that no. And
what's ironic about it is that Doc Rivers left Boston
because he didn't want to be a part of a rebuild,
and now he finds himself with the Clippers, who are
just sort of trying to figure out how to get
into the dance with some of these big time free
agents and big time names. And by trading way to

(37:01):
Bias Harris, who they offered a contract to earlier in
the year before the season, and he declined he's looking
for something closer to a max deal. They got picks
in return. They've got cap space. Now you know, Kawhi
Leonard is very interested in wanting to go there. And
if you can land one other player, you're all of
a sudden you're a legitimate threat in the West. And

(37:21):
the Kawhi Leonard, remember he said he wanted to come
to LA but not to play with the Lakers, and
people are looking go to Clippers. Why would he want
to go there? Lebron's with the Lakers. But another thing
that you hear, because I think even Kevin Durant spoke
to him at one point, was the Jerry West factor.
He does factor. Yeah, Jerry West still has poll within

(37:44):
the league and throughout the league because he's he's a consultant.
He's not the day to day guy. No, Lawrence Frank
is there, and a couple other people. And don't forget
Steve Bomber. I meant you get Steve Bomber involved, and
he starts talking to you about the future, and that's
a guy. If you want to venture out past just basketball,
you want to look business wise, that's a hell of
a guy to talk to. That's a hell of a
guy to look at and go okay, any tips, recommendations, whatnot.

(38:07):
He's almost like the modern day Mark Cuban to where
Mark Cuban got players excitable, they did things a certain way.
Plus Doc Rivers is there. He's a player's coach. No
matter what you think about Mark Cuban. They got to
two NBA finals and they won one of the two
and they beat Lebron Yeah, and that Miami Heat team.
So you know, I think it was a good move
for the Clippers. I think they have approached this the

(38:29):
right way. I thought Colin Coward made a great point
earlier on Fox Sports Radio when he said, it's funny
you don't hear anything about a potential trade with the
Clippers and the deal gets done. Yet you heard about
potential trades with the Lakers and no deal gets done.
That's a great point, and that's exactly why the Laker
non trade is so hurtful, because you can make a

(38:53):
deal that came out of left field, right what happened,
And that's usually the way you want to do business.
You don't if you don't want to flow on it
and put it out there, because what if it doesn't happen.
But the Clippers very quietly have put themselves in position
to get a big time star in the NBA. I
nois in Toronto. They got a good team. We'll see

(39:14):
what happens with that, but they'll have a shot. They'll
be in able to lure him. And they were so
serious about it that when they let go, remember Bruce
Bowing the broadcast because he said something on a podcast
about Kawhi Leonard dude. They were like, they're not leaving
any stone unturn. There'll be no reason that Kawhi could
say I'm not coming there because you have X, Y

(39:35):
and Z and that dude said something about me or whatever.
And there's also something too winning in certain places. When
Joe Madden won a World Series at the Cubs. He's
set for life, no doubt about like he So if
you win at a certain place where it's never been
done before, like the first Red Sox World Series back
in two thousand and four, I think it was, um,

(39:57):
those guys on that team, they're set for life. No,
you'll be remembered. It was like an eighty five years
uh drought. Dave Roberts stole a base and got a
standing ovation when the Dodgers were in Boston the World Series.
So if you're a player, that's an enticing proposition. Win
with the Clippers and you're on a whole nether level.

(40:19):
Because remember kauh I already won a championship. It was
an MVP, so he already has that in his back pocket.
That's why it makes it easy for him to make
the call people who are trying to chase and and
then you have to go and be in Lebron's shadow.
That's not always cool now, all right, But our number
two of the Odd Couple is on the way. Rob

(40:39):
Parker Jonas Knox keep it locked. It's the Odd Couple
of Fox Sports Radio. You can check out the show
on the I Heart Radio app. He is Rob Parker,
I am Jonas Knox in for Chris Broussard. Chris Brussard
under the weather. Uh good dude. Hope he gets better fast,
get well, get well, come back one hundred percent so

(41:01):
he can slap Rob around a little bit. Oh that
would be hard because when he's healthy, can't slid me around.
So it's load management for Chris Brussard, is what you're saying. Yeah, absolutely,
he's got it. He's got a play safe here. So
Rob Parker, we are company live as always from the
Geico Fox Sports Radio studios where fifteen minutes could save
you fifteen percent or more on car insurance. Visit Geico
dot com for a free rate quote. And Jonas, we

(41:24):
are gonna have Eddie House, the NBA champion and of
course FS one NBA analysts. He'll be joining us at
about thirty minutes, so I'll stick around for that. Eddie's
always great. Yeah, but we are going to talk some football.
We've been talking basketball for most of the program. Now quickly,
I do want to mention this because we have been
waiting for the blockbuster trade to go down. Well did

(41:46):
it happen? With the NBA trade deadline at three Eastern time.
You wanted a blockbuster trade, you got it. Otto Porter
is now a Chicago Bowl. Oh mo, yeah, you got it.
Can we can we get there? Can we go buy tickets? Uh?
NBA Finals tickets? Let me ask you a question, Rob Parker. Okay,

(42:08):
Otto Porter's only making twenty seven. Here's what I want
to ask twenty seven? What? Okay? You know what? What
do you think there is more of? All right, I'm
gonna ask you what do you think there are more of? Uh?
Do you think there are more Montreal Expo fans or
do you think there are more people who have said

(42:29):
out loud quick, we gotta go get tickets. Otto Porter's
playing more Montreal exposing And then some people that don't
even realize that Montreal once had a baseball team. That's
how bad it is. I was just wondering, Hey, that
was a great place there, that team. Yeah, and they
got screwed because of the MLB lockout. They got absolutely

(42:52):
Remember they were leading that you had a great team.
It looked like they were going to go to the
World Series. Nat Williams and all those played. Dennis Martinez.
What you don't know ball? What are you doing? All right? So,
so We will have more on these breaking NBA trades
that'll amount to nothing as teams are moving and shaking
before the deadline coming up tomorrow at three Eastern time.

(43:12):
But let's talk a little bit of football. Nick Foles
your favorite Rob Parker super Bowl MVP. He took down
Tom Brady, which put him in the pantheon of Parker's favorite,
no doubt about it. He outplayed Tom top three for
five hundred yards. But Nick Foles made all the throws
in that game. And don't forget this, he's the one

(43:33):
who actually caught the past that was thrown to him.
Tom Boyder looked like I told you, looked like what
looked like a giraffe on rollerblades. It was even worse
than that what's your name from? Roseanne Barr look going
out for a past? You remember he was lumbering and
it hit his hands and I was like, there's Roseanne
bar Okay, First of all, let's add a third to this,

(43:57):
all right, do you think there are more Montreal Expo fans,
people who bought a ticket to Seattle Porter, or people
who confused Tom Brady for Rosan tom Brady? Hey, you know,
all I'm saying is he had a dad bod before
he had the kids. That's just a fact. So Nick
Foles he avoided his option on avoided his twenty nineteen

(44:19):
option that was picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles. He's
going to be paying two million dollars as part of
that buyout. So moving forward, there's a thought that potentially
the Eagles could franchise Nick Foles in hoping to trade
him something for Yeah, where do you stand on Nick
Foles moving forward? You know what, I'm always literally avoiding

(44:39):
out a deal like that, You know what I mean, Like,
what if you don't get what was it the twenty
million dollars, wasn't it? Well, he spoke, here's the thing
about yes, twenty million dollars. But here's the thing about Foles.
He even talked about it last year when he said,
when I see some of these guys getting the money
that they're getting, it does kind of sting a little bit.
So he's been pretty public, pretty open about the fact

(45:01):
that he would like to get paid and he would
like to cash in on the recent success he's had.
And I get that seriously from the idea that if
you're playing a game or even like us, you know,
you're broadcasting or whatever, any job, and you see a
guy who's maybe not as good as you and he's
making bank. You're like, dude, I just want to make

(45:21):
what everybody else is making. I'm not trying to be special,
but why should I take less than what other other
guys are making? Well? But here's marny thing. I know.
People look at the playoffs a year ago and the
super Bowl and he played great, and this ship they
had a nice run when when Winter in the Lifetime

(45:42):
got hurt and I'll give you that, you know Winter
in the Lifetime, So so I get all that. But
he's the kind of guy Jonas who is all cool
to go. I could give him the car keys, man,
go get me a loaf of bread. He drives down,

(46:03):
gets the bread, comes back. But if I give actually
give him the car, he crashes it. Okay, he can go.
Do you know he knows it's my car and I've
be turn it over to him. He's cool with that,
all right, let me go do what I gotta do.
But as soon as you give him the keys, because
we've seen it before, he's not a starting quarterback in
the league. And whenever they've given him that opportunity. For

(46:26):
whatever reason, it hasn't worked. I know he had that
one year with Philadelphia right before what was that when
Michael Vick and it was when he was Chip Kelly
was the cot He had twenty seven and two, they
won the division, they hosted a playoff game and they
lost to the Saints exactly and then and then the
next year he turned into a pumpkin. It's like Fitzpatrick.
That's the same thing, right every time you look at

(46:48):
him and go, oh my god. If you remember the
start of the season this year, you were like, what, oh,
this is ridiculous. And you've seen that from Fitzpatrick multiple
times throughout the course of his career. People forget Buffalo
paid him. Buffalo gave him a contract like he was
going to be the quarterback of the future the Jets.
He played really well, so much so that you had
Brandon Marshall talking about how he's the best quarterback he's

(47:11):
ever played with. You know, there's another guy, do you
remember this? Matt Flynn played for Green Bay Packers. Yep.
He broke all kinds of play offensive records for a
single game against the Lions the last game of the year.
That gave Aaron Rodgers the day off. So Seattle sees this.
He threw five touchdowns. He was unbelievable. They give him

(47:34):
a big contract to be their starting quarterback. He gets
cut in training camp because this is when Russell Wilson
became the quarterback. But they gave him this big deal
off of the one game and they saw what he did.
You know what, I'll give Seattle credit. They could have
been stubborn and said, no, this is the guy that
we gave our money too with him. You know what
they said. I that they said this other guy is

(47:55):
better and we don't care that we signed him to
a contract. You just don't see it that all. Most
people will not admit that they that they made a mistake. Look,
and you could go down the history of the NFL,
and this is I'm not just saying this because I
do a show with him and he's a good friend
of mine. But I'll contend that what damaged Brady Quinn's

(48:17):
career the most is when Cleveland overreacted to one good
year from Derek Anderson and gave him a three year
deal on top of that after they had drafted him.
And the reason they did that is because they didn't
want to feel like they made the mistake that the
Chargers felt like they made when the Chargers let Drew
brees Walk saw what he did in New Orleans and
stuck with Philip Rivers. And so when those things are

(48:39):
you see, these things happen throughout the course of the NFL,
and teams tend to overreact. Nick Foles is doing absolutely
the right thing here because he's gonna get more than
the twenty million. He's gonna end up getting more than
the twenty million. I don't think I'm saying. I'm always
like to you know where you know you're gonna get
twenty million just to get out of that deal. And
then what happens if other people go, yeah, yeah, we

(49:01):
like you. Blow. We're not giving you a sixty million
dollar deal or anything. And look if I don't love it,
but I like it, And who's that I like? Okay,
Chris brus Sorry, it's a good human being. The guy's
home sick and you're clowning him on that. I can't help. Unbelievable.
I'm gonna kill your butts. By the way, if you'd
like to get Rob Parker on Twitter, you can do

(49:21):
so at Jeffrey Dahmers. Is that what it is? A
terrible human being? Well, at the Jonas Knocks, you can
do that. Let me just throw out the number here
as we go forward, if you want to chime in,
would you would you want your team to sign sign him?
I mean, would would you be like, yeah, look at
you won a super Bowl? Look at what Nick Foles

(49:42):
was able to do? Is he a franchise quarterback? Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox? That's eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. So you can
chime in on this if you'd like to. It's all
about sample size, and you got to be smart about it,
and you have to understand what you're showing and what
you're not showing. The guy always go back to his
Cardel Jones. Cardel Jones had a small sample see hundred

(50:08):
percent agree, Cardel Jones stepped in and won the Big
Ten title game, the national semifinal, and then the National championship.
You had the nerve to come back to college. Should
have walked. He should have walked, and he would have
been a first round pick, prop potentially a first round pick,
and somebody would have worked with them. And you know

(50:29):
what I mean, they would have brought him along, and
I agree after that, and that guy looked like unbelievable.
I could not whoever gave him the advice to come back,
And then he wasn't even guaranteed to be the starting
quarterback the next tree of you remember, but he started
and the opening game of the season was Virginia Tech,
and all of a sudden, teams had an offseason to

(50:50):
study film to see his tendencies. And at Virginia Tech
Blacksburg in primetime, I remember being on the year. When
I was watching it, I thought to myself, Damn, that
guy just cost himself millions of dollars because he came back.
And now you've shown you've given a big enough sample
size to now not only did people see your strengths,
but now they see your flaws. And when he played
in that championship game, I said, this dude is off.

(51:12):
The chat was great, all the tools in the world,
he had, the arm, all of it. And there were
people talking that study the NFL that going into the draft,
that said Cardell Jones is a first round talent. And
you know how the NFL draft works. If you're a
quarterback and you've got talent, somebody's going to take a
chance on you because that's the key to winning and
being successful in the NFL. He passed on that, and

(51:34):
he cost himself. There are some players who do it
right and some players who, you look back on it,
they do it wrong. And if I'm Nick Foles, you
gotta jump at the opportunity. But on the flip side
of that, if I'm a team, I'm not pulling the
trigger on Nick Foles. No, I'm not doing it. I
think I think you got to be very very leery
of it. I don't know. Let me ask you, how

(51:54):
about Jacksonville Jaguars. I know that defense disappointed they had
they had a defense in place. Bortles isn't the guy.
How how much of an upgrade is Nick Foles over
Blake Bortles. I agree he's in upgrade, but I don't.
I just don't see at a significant upgrade. You don't know.
We have a big following down in Jacksonville. Lead Couples

(52:18):
absolutely the sports radio nine thirty in Jacksonville. Is that
what it is? Affiliate knowledge that that's what I do.
Unbelieve it's called work. In the middle of the night
and wanted to know who's listening to you. That's so,
that's what you do. Was laughing at it. But but
the Nick Foles thing and the numbers eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. I don't want to just the

(52:41):
god because it ain't easy to win a super Bowl
and play the way he played. But you just have
to look at the history. His history is too long
because if he was really a starting quarterback, he would be.
He would be a starting quarterback, he really would because
there's a lot of teams that don't have really good quarterbacks.
So why the world have peamed passed on him? Here's
the problem. He can't stay in Philadelphia. No. I heard

(53:03):
this from somebody, and I cannot say, but somebody that
has got at least some knowledge or some connection to
where they know kind of what's going on there. I'm sorry, No,
it's not Gargano. Well, Gargon is not going to dime
at anybody, you know. Okay, So Chris Brusard, you take

(53:23):
a battle axe to Chris Brussard, your partner, You rip
Anthony Gargano, not at all. Hurricane Rob just blown through
the building together, ripping the network. But I heard I
heard that potentially the leak that came out of Philadelphia
that there was the thought that maybe it was Nick

(53:45):
foles agent who had something to do with the story
on Carson Wentz not being the best teammate in the world. Now,
I'm not saying that's one hundred percent true. I don't know.
I have no proof of that. But you can't go
back to Philadelphia, so he's got to go somewhere. The
question is is would your team want Nick Foles if
he's available here you go energy a franchise quarterback? Do
you look at him that way? Age seven, seven ninety

(54:06):
nine on Fox, Let's go to Rod in North Carolina.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Rod?
What's up? What's up? Rod? Are you doing? Man? Doing great?
How are you? Gut? Rod Banks? Man? All right, man, listen.
I just want to say one thing Nick Foles. I
think it's a start quarterback, but not the starting quarterback

(54:28):
of a super Bowl winning team. He won a Super Bowl. No,
he won a super Bowl, but he didn't start to
continue the whole year. Right, He took over for his
super Bowl winning team and didn't come in the starting
quarterback of this super Bowl winning team. Hey, Rod, who's
your team, Rod, who's your favorite football team? A football team?

(54:48):
And that's what I said when I call is the
Caroline of Fethers. The person in signs Nick Foles is
gonna be making the Jake their whole mistake. I guarantee
he can lift the Buffalo Jake. He got you to
a super Bowl and then John Casey can't ball out.
He got to a super Bowl. What did he do
but the Arizona car, the two thousand twils nothing. No,

(55:12):
You're right, Nick, God, that's all I'm saying. You could
compare him to that type of quarterback. Now, I think
and we appreciate you. Now listen, I think in fairness,
we've got it a little behind the scenes here. Um Now,
Rob Parker is doing this segment because we're talking about
quarterbacks who are cashing in on a small sample size
of success. He's doing this segment in a Scott Mitchell

(55:34):
Lyon's yours. Is that what I'm doing? That would be bad?
In fairness? That was such a great ride for Scott
Mitchell on Detroit right where Lomis Brown refused to blocklight. Now,
which which Scott Mitchell, I'm I'm I'm the two hundred
and thirty pound Scott Mitchell on a four hundred pound
one because you remember he was on the Biggest Loser.
Oh man, that hit it was he was on the

(55:55):
Biggest Loser. He was like four hundred pounds? Are you
are you quarter Lorenz? And is that what that was?
That was unbelieved that that guy was at for two
Chris so christoerus start sick. Rob Parker rips him. Now,
Scott Mitchell, you just fat shamed on the air. He
got the wrong guy. No, he was four hundred at
one point. It's all right, let's go to Mark and Sacramento.

(56:19):
You're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's
up Mark and what's going on? Guys? How you serious?
Oh yeah, he'll be all right, man, he'll get back. Yes, yeah. Anyway, So,
first of all, just term franchise quarterbacks, Rob, What the
hell does that mean? Franchise quarterback? Well, it means like,

(56:43):
do you have quarterbacks who are starting quarterbacks but they
might be stop gap measure where you don't feel like
they really could win you anything, but they might be
the starting quarterback. And the other one would be like
it's a Carson wins where you like, this guy's gonna
be our quarterback for the next twelve years, and he
will give us a chance to win the Super Bowl.
That's a franchise quarterback to me. Okay. The reason why

(57:06):
I asked that is, I'm watching the NFL and I
hear you guys talking about Fold. I see what he's done.
I understand what you're saying about giving him the keys
to the car and let him go further in around
the corner to the store for you get that. I
get that. But I'm watching some of these guys that
played quarterback this year and I wouldn't even give him
the keys to go around the corner to the store. No,

(57:27):
I get it. There are a lot of bad quarterbacks.
I agree with you, Mark, no doubt about it. Yeah,
so you know what, Let's get the guy the keys
to the car. Let's see if therected or not. He's
earned that. You know why he's earned that because he
took the team and he won a super Bowl. No. Hey, hey,
you know what, hard to argue with winning the Super
Bowl because a lot of people can't make it happen.

(57:48):
How about Chad in Columbus, Ohio. You're on the odd
couple Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Chad, what's going on? Guys? Oh?
Not a whole lot. Well, I'm listen to you guys
in this conversation. Just it. It brings me back to
like this point last season when like everybody's talking about
all these quarterbacks moving around like Cousins and Case Keenum,

(58:08):
and you look at Fules Fulls as the type of
quarterback that is going to click with like a certain style,
a certain system. That's why he goes good with Peterson.
You put him anywhere else and you're gonna have a
media quarterback. Another example of that is Case Keenum. Case
Keenum had a killer year in Minnesota. Yes, he did
the Denver and he's awful because he only he was
only good under Pat Schermer's system. That's the only that's

(58:30):
the only thing Case Keenum is gonna be able to do.
So don't be surprised if Case Keenum ends up a
giant here within the next possible year or so. That's
that's that's a good point. And there are quarterbacks who
play well in certain systems and for whatever reason, they
flourish because somebody knows what they can do and what
they can do. Let me tell you something. If the

(58:51):
Giants backup plan after Eli Manning is Case Keenum. Giants
fans are going to tear down the statue of Liberty. Well,
but but they but they got, but they got they
gotta move from Eli though. I'm sorry, of course, yeah,
but I don't know. I mean, how much more of
a enoughgrade is Case Keenum over Eli Manning? It's he
come on, you know, New York. I'm gonna settle for Case. No,

(59:13):
I know, but it's a stop gap if they can
drive somebody, all right, how hard is it to be
a teammate of Lebron James around the trade deadline? NBA
champion Eddie House has the answer. Next, it's the Odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio, Stick and Stay America. It's
Chris Bruce Are from the Eye Couple. Rob, you own

(59:33):
a couple of businesses back in Detroit, and you know
better than anyone that the right hire can really make
an impact on your business, no doubt about it. And
it's not easy getting people to work in your business.
It's a big part of who you are and how
you get things done, and you gotta be able to
find the right people that fit well. Rob, next time
you decide to add an employee to your stable, you

(59:54):
should use LinkedIn. You can post on job boards and
hope you'll find the right person for your job. But
think about it. How often do you check job boards?
Why trust the chance when you can post your job
to a place where people go every day to grow

(01:01:04):
fire insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable in every state.
That's what Rob Slipp Chris Brusard poison is. That was
that me. It is the odd couple here Fox Sports Radio.
This was my divorce song. He is Rob Parker. I
am Jonas Knox in for Chris Brussard here on Fox

(01:01:24):
Sports Radio. Right now we are welcoming in Fox Sports one,
Fox Sports Radio, NBA analyst. He is a NBA World champion.
He is Eddie House here on Fox Sports Radio. Eddie,
thanks so much for the time. Man. What's up, Eddie?
What's added? Rob? How are you doing? Man? I'm doing
all right? You good? Yeah, I'm good. Now, Eddie, I
gotta warn you if you wanted smoke, you came to

(01:01:46):
the right place because Rob Parker has been hammering everybody
on the show. Oh everybody's been getting it. So so
if you are a Lebron supporter, Rob Parker's gonna let
you hear it. I mean, Rob always hating all le Bron.
All right, Eddie, so help me out. Okay, all right,
I thought this was supposed to be a look, see
kind of year. You know, let's see what Lebron and

(01:02:09):
the young clip Lakers have and then they'll worry about
figuring it out for year or two. But instead it
was like, hey, let's trade the entire team, Let's get
Anthony Davis. What do you make of this? It doesn't
look like there's gonna be a trade, obviously, because New
Orleans hasn't even responded back, you know, to the Lakers.
What do you make of this whole thing with the

(01:02:30):
Anthony Davis trade? And do you believe it could happen?
If I'm New Orleans, what are you rushing for? I mean,
he has another year on his contract. Go ahead and
let all the fielders come in. I'm not surprised that
they're not responding right away to what the Lakers are offering.
All that did was set the bar for other teams
to come with try to come with sweeter deals for
him if they want. They know they have that in

(01:02:52):
their back pocket. They know they have all the leverage
because the Lakers seem thirsty to get Anthony Davis, and
they do. I mean that's the part that this expose
how desperate they look. And help me here, Eddie, what
about being a player. It's one thing if one or
two guys are named in the trade, that's the business.
But when you see the whole rosters, basically you could

(01:03:12):
have anybody you want. Nobody's sacred, We don't covert anybody.
You think that shook those young players, well, it could
have being a young player not understanding exactly the business
of basketball yet, you know, and being in your first
second year, third year and being with a team and
feeling secure, you know, not really having any expectations as

(01:03:33):
a organization to be winning. It's all about developing. Hey,
we got to develop these young guys. But once Lebron came,
all the development went right out the window and it
was like, hey, we got to win right now. So
different pressure, different set of circumstances for these guys. Now
they're seeing this is what basketball is really like if
you are trying to be on championship caliber teams or

(01:03:54):
teams that's at least competing and have their names out there.
So this is a wake up call for this them
and it's either gonna do two things. Make them figure out,
hey I gotta step my game up a little bit,
or they'll go somewhere else and they'll find where where
they're at. It's not it's not easy to win in
any sport. So and you have to be certain. You

(01:04:15):
gotta be cut from a certain type of cloth to
be able to make sure that whatever it is that
you have to do, that you can do it. And
for these young guys, it is kind of it's surprising
to them because they've never seen the side of anything.
You know, all they know and they've been You got
to think a lot of these guys are always been
coddled to and hey, man, you know you the you
the man, You the man, or we're gonna keep on

(01:04:36):
giving you everything because of you know, AU and going
to college being a one and done and then right
to the NBA. So it could be as I believe,
it is a shock to him. But hey, welcome to
the real world. This is it. He is Eddie House,
NBA champion, Fox Sports one NBA analysts joining us here
on Fox Sports Radio. It's the odd couple. Rob Parker,
Jonas Knox in for Chris Brussard. So, Eddie, um, had

(01:04:58):
you ever found yourself in your career to where your
name was floated out in a trade rumor? And how
did you handle take us into what that's like in
the dynamic in the locker room right now. Well, I
don't remember a trade rumor where my name was flowing.
I mean I had a couple of times, yeah, but
not really nothing substantial. I have been traded. I have
been traded before mid season, and the mindset is when

(01:05:20):
you know that that's going on, and it's uh, you
can be potentially being moved from that team. All you
can do is your job. Everything else. It's like, hey, okay,
I have no control over what the what's gonna happen,
what this outcome is gonna be. All I can do
is I can prepare myself to be Hey, if I'm here,
I'm here. If I'm somewhere else, then I have to
start preparing to be on that team and figure out

(01:05:41):
my niche with that team and how I could stay
over there and help the team be as successful as
they can be. So I think that that's that was
my mindset. But when I when when I got traded,
I was later in my career. Uh you know, it
was after the year, two years after we won the championships.
So I was a veteran, so I understood the business

(01:06:05):
of the basketball so it was it was an easier
transition for me. Now, if that would have happened as
younger in my career would have been could have have,
you know, changed the way that our approached games, would
have could have changed my mentality in practice and things
like that possibly, But uh, for for me and my experience,
it was later in my career, so I pretty much

(01:06:26):
had a grip on how how how this game goes
and how how the business of basketball operates as well. Hey, Eddie,
the people are saying that it's gonna take about forty
eight wins to make the playoffs in the Western Conference,
And now at the Lakers or twenty seven and twenty seven,
I think their playoffs are in jeopardy. Is not maybe

(01:06:47):
the layout we thought it was. They need to go
twenty one and six to get forty eight wins. Is
that doable with the team where they are or is
that going to shoulder a lot on Lebron trying to
lead them all the way back. Well, I'll be able
to give you a better idea after all Star excuse me,
after the trade deadline, because I think right now with

(01:07:08):
the trade deadline going, you can't get a really good
you can't get a real gauge on this teams. You
can't check their temperature right now because you don't know
what it is, because you don't know where they're at.
So I think once the trade deadline is over with
and everybody knows that hey, I'm gonna be here or
they've been moved, and somebody else comes in and know
that they're gonna be there, then I think you have

(01:07:29):
a better I'll be able to better assess that and
give you a better answer from there, because then you
can see exactly after two or three games, you know
if this is gonna work or if it's not gonna work.
Did you see that the reaction in Indiana when Brandon
Ingram came up to the free throw line last night
and the fans there, do you have that we want
to play it again and go ahead? The average sixteen

(01:07:52):
points last year, in year two, he's at seventeen point
two and this last five and the crowd is chinning,
Lebron's gonna trade you? What you making that last night? Well,
that's that's uh, Indiana fans being the best Indian and
the fans that they can be. I mean, you know
how it is man that is classic and you know,

(01:08:12):
fans are gonna cut as deep as they can cut,
and they're gonna go low. It's gonna be a bunch
of low blows. And uh, I think it's all in
the front of the game. That's part of it. So
you know, you look at it and say, hey, that
was pretty clever by the fans. You gotta hey, you
acknowledge that and move on. Sometimes they the fans can
be corny, but that was a good one and they
got him and you just gotta roll with the punches

(01:08:34):
and it is what it is. It shouldn't affect him
either way, you know. That's the thing. Yeah, that's just
the fans chanting that. But that's just like them born
with those h thundersticks behind the baskets chanting it shouldn't
it shouldn't even bother you. You you hear it, but
you don't hear it, if that makes sense. And Eddie,
you went to Arizona State, correct, Yeah, the fans behind
the baskets are insane and Arizona Arizona State. Yeah. The

(01:08:56):
curtain of distractions, oh my god, like they I've seen
guys wearing next to nothing behind the curtain. I would
miss every free throw too. What the hell's that about you? Yeah, Eddie,
let me ask you. Eddie House, NBA champion, Fox Sports
one NBA analysts joining us here on Fox Sports Radio
about one of your former teams now being here in La.
I've heard my whole life about how the Clippers or
the second team in the city, and nobody really takes

(01:09:18):
them serious. And even the stadium they play in as
all designed for the Lakers. They have no banners up there.
But they make a move in trading Tobias Harris, they
free up cap space, They've now landed a bunch of
extra draft picks. What do you make of the direction
the Clippers are headed? Oh, they they're heading the good
director set themself up to be right there with when

(01:09:39):
just last week everybody was talking about how you know
the Lakers are set they step up. But then also
on the flip side of that, the Nicks, with the
move that they made, have set theirself up to make
some runs in free agency. So they put themselves right
in that conversation. And La is definitely one of the
most attractive cities in the NBA, um if not deep

(01:10:01):
most attractive city in the NBA for guys to come
to and try to play, you know, with the weather,
with with with everything that comes with living in Los Angeles,
so and and playing for either the Lakers and the Clippers.
This is not the same Clippers that I played for
from with the Donald Sterling, the way he owned it,
the way he ran it. It was definitely a second
class to the Lakers organization at the time that I

(01:10:24):
was there. But now everything that I'm here and it
is moving into a first class organization. The ownership from
top to bottom is doing a great job changing the
culture over there as far as trying to create their
own identity, and I think they've done a great job
with that um since Balmber has taken over. So they're
put themselves in position to be right there to make

(01:10:44):
a move for a Kauai or who Kyrie, whatever they
want to do. They're in a position. They got young assets.
They're just like the Lakers who are young assets. They
got a bunch of draft picks and they got a
grip of cataspace. So they're right there at the forefront
of all the leadership or the guys who have the
trumps in their hands and free agency, and Eddie, I

(01:11:07):
would think this and we were talking about it earlier.
There are certain teams to where when you win there
it's just bigger than other places. Like Joe Madden, anybody
that won the World Series on that Cubs team, They're
never paying for a drink in town that's Chicago. It's
just different if you're if you're a part of the
team that finally lands a winner with the Clippers, I
got to imagine that's somewhat attractive to players around the league. Yeah,

(01:11:29):
well it has to be because then you have Lebron across.
So now if you want to because number one, the
Warriors are are the cream of the crop right west.
So it's like, okay, well that's who we have to
compete with, but can we be the best team in
the city of la And that's what they're going to
be competing for, and that that makes for I mean
a hell of a bid war. And you start talking

(01:11:49):
about Genie Bust, Magic Johnson and Steve Baumber and Jerry West.
You know you started so you start seeing like, Okay,
what's coming to Fuition, whose dream is and who the
ideas are gonna actually come to Puition, and who's gonna
put out a team that's gonna say Hey, this is
our our basketball did he it used to be or
it still is? One of the two is gonna happen?

(01:12:11):
He is Eddie House, MBA champion Fox Sports One NBA analysts. Hey, Eddie,
when are you coming back to FS one? When will
you be both? I was talking to Marcus possibly Monday. Man,
all right, because I think next week it's me Chris
and Greg Jennings filling in for the guys skipping shutting off.
So I hope you're in there next week. Okay, for sure,

(01:12:32):
I'm gonna find out. I'll let you know. I'll keep
you posted, all right, Thanks Eddie, We appreciate it. Man,
all right, be cool? All right, Jonas Knox Rob Parker
in for Chris Brussard here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming
up next here on FSR, we are going to talk
about one team in the NFL who's in a very
very bad spot. So we'll get to that coming up next.

(01:12:53):
But for all the latest from around the world of sports,
it's step Carson keeping an eye on the trade deadline,
which is tomorrow Thursday, three Eastern. The Wizards are sending
Otto Porter to the Bulls for Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker.
And a second round pick in twenty twenty three. According
to the Athletic, Rockets, Cavaliers and Kings are completing a
three way deal that sends him On Schumper to Houston.

(01:13:13):
Adrian Warszanowski breaking that news. Boston Globe reporting that the
Pelicans call the Celtics wanting assurances on possible packages for
Anthony Davis after July first. Celtics reportedly made no promises,
but did say no specific player would be off limits.
Heat are trading Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington to the
Sons for Ryan Anderson. Ellington's expected to be released by

(01:13:34):
the Sons, and ESPN says the Thunder are among the
playoff bound teams who would be interested in Wayne Ellington
if and when Phoenix waves him and action right now
in Brooklyn. Brooklyn's trying to end a three game slide.
Right now, the Nets will lead the Nuggets sixty seven
fifty seven. Late second quarter, Pelicans are at the Bulls

(01:13:55):
no Anthony Davis to night. In fact, the Pelicans say
they're gonna sit Davis until after the trade dead line.
Right now, the Bulls have a two point lead over
New Orleans, thirty nine to thirty seven, ten to go
in the second quarter, and in New Orleans trying to
end their own three game skid late first. In Milwaukee,
Bucks are winners of four straight. They lead the Wizards
of forty four thirty. Your check engine light could signify

a variety of different issues with your car, and the
AutoZone Fixed Finders service will help you a troubleshoot the

miss interviewed former Baylor coach Art Briles for its offensive
coordinator vacancy, but announced it's not going to be hiring
him all. Former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops headed a Big
D expected to be named head coach and GM of

(01:14:37):
the new XFL franchise in Dallas. We'll be back with
the odd couple in ten seconds. But first, a word
from farmers. From a dog accidentally flooding a living room
to a dog taking a joy ride, we've covered it.
Talk to farmers. We know a thing or two. Because
we've seen a thing or two. We are farmers under
written my Farmers Struck Fire Insurance Exchange cent affiliates products

(01:14:57):
not available in every state. Rob Parker Jonas expect to
you guys. Thanks Devin is the odd couple here on
Fox Sports Radio, Rob Parker, Jonas Knox in for Chris
Brussard here on FSR. Coming up next here on Fox
Sports Radio, one of the best teams in the NFL
just got a little bit of bad news. Find out
who they are next here on FSR. From a hot

(01:15:21):
air balloon landing on a car to a load of
concrete falling on one, we've covered it. Talk to farmers.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a
thing or two. We are farmers under written. My farmers
took fire insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable in every state.
It's the odd couple Fox Sports Radio. That guy over
there is Rob Parker. I am Jonas Knox in for

(01:15:41):
Cris Brussard. You can check out the show on the
iHeartRadio app. Coming up in a little over ten minutes
from now here on Fox Sports Radio, We're gonna tell
you the truth about Lebron James and the situation he
has put his team in. All right, I think gonna
be a couple of the only guys who want to

(01:16:02):
speak honestly about it. So that's coming up a little
bit over ten minutes. I agree with that, no doubt
about it. Now. Rob Parker, speaking of La the La
Rams who just lost the Super Bowl, I know you
were really really heartbroken over that. You are a you
were really pulling for the La Rams. No, I just
thought they did. I thought they were gonna win. I
really did. I like, dude, they average thirty three points

(01:16:25):
a game. Yeah. I thought that they had the defense
to get to Tom Brady. You know, Tom Brady looked
like Peter Brady and that the Super Bowl. Remember when
he threw the ball and hit Marsha the nose, my nose?
Remember that? But you millennials google it. It's a classic.

(01:16:46):
First all, I take offense to the term millennial. I
am not a millennial. I'll do you old enough, I cried,
I'm in my thirty crossed Okay, yeah no I'm not
Alex are you? I mean no, you are a millennial? Yeah,
I'm in the gap. I'm a millennial. Rob g you're
a millennial? Know all you? That is correct? Latino? Oh
that he can't be all like, what are we talking

(01:17:08):
about here? Look at that? Unbelievably Listen, how's that racist?
And pointing out a fact? How's that racist? Please? Oh?
You know what, my girlfriend is Mexican. All right, I'm
basically what does that mean? You can't be racist because
you a Mexican girl telling you on Christmas? Even more
eton to Molly's I'm not Jonas Knox, I'm Jonas Knoxys
is that the work? Huh? That's done? So let me

(01:17:30):
ask you this, because the La Rams they lose the
Super Bowl, and the thinking is the hope in La
for Rams fans is don't worry the futures. Bright. I
have this funny suspicion that this was a golden opportunity
that they squandered in winning this super Bowl because this
team swung for the fences in the off season. Oh,

(01:17:52):
they make trades. They went trades, gave up assets. They
and Dominican Sue to leave Marcus Peters, Donnie Guys and
then at the trade deadline went out and got Fouler
from Jacksonville for a first round pick. They were trying
to win it that they were saying, we're all in.
Here's all out, chips in the middle of the table.
We are trying to win a super Bow. So if

(01:18:12):
you go all in but you don't win, by definition,
you failed. And if you fail. What does tomorrow look
like if you're an LA RAM fan or a member
of the organization, And to me, I think they're in
a worst spot than people are willing doing to acknowledge,
and worst spot meaning what they won't get back. I
don't like their chance. I think when you get there,

(01:18:33):
you got to close. Okay, you see this in baseball
all the time. How good? How good did Dodger fans
feel about their chances to go back a third year? No,
I've done nothing. If you're a Dodger fan, I agree.
Trying to get to the World Series three years in
a row. Texas Rangers. Rangers had an opportunity, they had
one and Nelson Cools pulled up with that ball. Look
the Atlanta foul never got but never one. The Atlanta Falcons,

(01:18:56):
they were a team, young talent, all sorts of weapons, this,
this and this, and they haven't gotten back. They did
even make the playoffs this year. I think lost in
what we saw on the Super Bowl, and I feel
like Sea mcfay's kind of getting a pass. Well, he's
young and they're young, and they'll learn from this. There's
no guarantees, especially in the NFL, so we can praise

(01:19:17):
the Patriots they've done it again but left in their wake,
or the La Rams, who next year you're gonna get
a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo. You're gonna get the Seattle Seahawks
who were much better this past season than anybody expected.
You can make an argument Pete Carroll deserve Coach of
the Year. So I just think if I'm a Rams
fan moving forward, I'd be concerned about this team. They

(01:19:40):
went they went for broke this past year. And we
learn this now in the NFL. If you don't win
while your quarterbacks on his rookie contract and you pay
him all that money, you're taking money away from other
parts of the roster. And then one other piece that
I'll add to this, the Todd Gurley situation is a
bizarre one because he claims and we had Eric Dickerson

(01:20:02):
health claims he's health to him, and he says he's health.
So if he's healthy and Sean McBay just didn't play him,
is their resentment from people in the organization about how
he handled it because we heard the same thing about
Malcolm Butler and Bill Belichick the year before. If that
happens in LA, that's a mess you're gonna have to
deal with. And you know what, I agree with you
from the standpoint that people will always look back at

(01:20:25):
that and say, we were nine in oh when Todd
Gurley got at least eighteen carries? Can you at least
give him at least eighteen to see if he could
have broken one? And then to think that only one
touchdown was scored in the game. It wasn't like you
had to do that much. Only there was only one touchdown.
They wouldn't the red zone only uh no times right,

(01:20:47):
no times in the red zone and the one and
the one score they got was a fifty three yard
field goal. It's unaccepted, it's it's a it's a bad situation.
I think they're in a worse spot than people realize.
So not fine, it'll I'm with you. I'm not like this.
It's all over for them and they could never do
anything because they have a good team. But I'm with you,

(01:21:07):
that was an opportunity squad. It's the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio Rob Parker Jonas Knox in for Chris Broussard.
Listen to me, stick and stay right now. Damn it.
That's right. It is the odd couple on Fox Sports Radio,
Rob Parker and Jonas Knox in for Chris Broussard. Hey, buddy,
get well, we hope to have your back here tomorrow.

(01:21:28):
Don't forget coming up. We're coming to your life from
the guy Goo, Fox Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could
save you fifteen percent of more on car insurance. So
you want to visit Geico dot com for a free
rate quote. A little later on in the hour, whatever,
Jonas get over here. We don't need to bring Jonas
in a little later on, we got the hot seat

(01:21:52):
Jason McIntyre from FS one, and of course here a
Fox Sports Radio host. We'll be coming up and he'll
join us on the hot seat later on in the program.
But we all know. The big story, of course, is
the Pelicans and Lebron James, and they're still waiting for
you a counter offer. Even though the Pelicans won't respond

(01:22:13):
to what the Lakers are offering. This thing doesn't look
like it's going to happen. But I'll tell you the
worst part about this is we saw what happened last
night with a forty two point lead a forty two
point loss, but the Lakers suffered in Indiana and basically
the players have turned on him, you know, and said, hey,
you don't need us, you don't care about us. And

(01:22:36):
this whole team, now, this whole scene, I should say,
has exposed the Lakers as a desperate franchise. They've been embarrassed.
You can try exposed. Yeah, they got exposed. And now
you've got a roster full of players who were on
the air last night when the Hindenburg was going down
in Indianapolis. They were atrocious from start to finish, and

(01:22:59):
Lebron played in that game they lose by forty plus
and Oladipo. The players are pissed off. Kyle Kuzma look
like he was totally dejected afterwards when they interviewed him.
All the drama surrounding Luke Wall all year long, it's
just it's a terrible look for the organization. They tried
to save a little bit of face. But the fact
is you wanted to go all in on Anthony Davis.

(01:23:21):
You didn't get him. I e failure, bottom line. And
here's the big thing, and I'm serious when I say this.
I know most people would have been shocked to think
that the Lakers Jonas would be twenty seven and twenty seven,
fifty four games in, and I'm here to tell you,
right here, right now, Lebron James has officially put the

(01:23:43):
Lakers season in jeopardy. What we thought was an automatic
that they would at least make the playoffs. We had
analysts talking about fifty wins, fifty three wins, second seed
in the Western Conference. I'm telling you it's gonna be
a struggle to make the playoffs in the Western Conference
after what has happened, after the pushback from Lebron James,

(01:24:04):
where you have now players who know that he doesn't
want them, he doesn't think he can win with them.
This was supposed to be the core of what was
gonna happen with the Lakers. This is why you endured
those bad years to get those picks, to be able
to put together something right. It wasn't that long ago
that Magic Johnson was standing there at the Staples Center

(01:24:27):
talking about that they were gonna hang Lonzo Balls, Jersey
and the Rafters, and now he was gonna race all
the Magic's wreckers. Do you remember that? Yeah? And now
here we are where they might not Lebron James team
might not make the playoffs in the Western Conference. It's
possible the season is in jeopardy. Don't kid yourself. And

(01:24:51):
also that's the only thing to bump me out about
what the Clippers did, because I get the Clippers training
to Bias Harris. They want to they want to free
up cap space, they want to have assets, they want
to go off some of these big fish in the
off season and potentially swing a big time trade. One
hundred percent agree with it. Great moved by the Clippers,
helps the Sixers immediately. The only reason I didn't like
it is because I do think it opens up a

(01:25:12):
spot for the Lakers because that's one of the teams
that's currently ahead of them, so it makes the path
a little bit easier. But when it's all said and done,
this has not been what everybody expected it to be.
This has not been the season everybody was looking at
and going, you know what, we're good with being twenty
seven and twenty seven this far into it, they went
from projecting. I was talking with the Straight Out of

(01:25:33):
Vegas guys before the show, and we're talking about season
win totals projections. Before the year, the over underwin total
for the Lakers was forty eight. Right now, they're projected
to finish with forty one wins. They're teetering on the
brink of being a below five hundred team. If you
think that's what anybody signed up four heading into this season,
you're insane or on some sort of meth amphetamine. But

(01:25:55):
it doesn't make any sense. And you just said it,
forty eight. Do you know what they'd have to go?
What did have to do to get forty eight wins?
Go twenty one in six? This team can't go twenty
one and six. It's not good enough. The competition in
the Western That's why I'm saying there's a chance. There's
a real chance that they're gonna be in trouble in
the Western Conference. And nobody would have ever believed that

(01:26:17):
a team will lebron. Everybody told me, oh, they're gonna
be a top two or three seed in the West.
They'll go to the second round this year. I'm not
buying it at all. And if they do make the playoffs,
it will be at the eighth seed and they'll probably
get knocked off by the Warriors in the first round.
They'll get sand blasted if they even make it. I

(01:26:37):
don't know if the players are gonna recover. Are they
going to be good enough to say? I understand veteran
players Jonas. Had there been like one or two names mentioned,
that's one thing, right, But when you see the whole
roster was available to let that come out, I think
it's hurt the Lakers and made people feel like on

(01:26:58):
the team. And we saw it in India. Not only
did they lose by forty two points, it was the
biggest loss of Lebron James's career. Also Lebron played, Lebron
was in the game, and guess who didn't play. Oh,
Ladipo didn't play because you know he's been lost to injury.
So they beat you like that without their best player
and the best player quote unquote on the planet played

(01:27:20):
in the game where he got beat by forty two.
And then there's the picture of Lebron sitting at the
end of the bench away from everybody. Now whether or not,
guys that just walked out. But what was a day?
You know what, though you want to sell something, you
want to sell some papers, you want to get some clicks.
You gotta be creative sometimes. But I will say, and
let me pose this question to you. We both agree

(01:27:41):
in order to make the playoffs. Lebron's got to play right,
so they've got a gun it He's I mean, you're down.
This is the backs, this is the last twenty something
games of the regular season, so they've got to really
make a push in order to make the postseason and
make the playoffs, and the schedule is more difficult. At
what point does Lebron James look at this and go,

(01:28:03):
you know what, it ain't happening this year, and then
he starts sitting well, because I think that's a realistic possibility.
That's where a load management comes. Okay, but I think
that's I think that you just love saying that. Ever
since you left Magic City for some reason. Load management
is like the term you're going to every time that
worn't that city. I don't know about basketball. Okay, now

(01:28:24):
now listen, here's here's the other here's the other aspect
of it as well too. So Lebron missed seventeen games,
He's missed eighteen games so far this season because of
that day to day groin issue. So if the groin
wasn't really an issue and they're not concerned about it
moving forward, do you think Lebron maybe could have returned sooner,

(01:28:44):
but he sat out to show the organization look at
what we really got. Maybe, I mean, because some people
are saying that and they think that would you put
it past him, that that wouldn't put it past that.
Those guys that you think are some core for the future,
they just don'tn't that good. And they weren't that good.
They really weren't. If you remember, this is where I
really said, I'm not buying into these guys. When they

(01:29:05):
lost to the Knicks, came the Knicks have ten wins.
They came to LA and gotta win, and the Cavaliers
had lost twelve in a row. They came to LA
and gotta win. They're bad, ye, both of those teams.
And the Bulls came in after that and gave him
a game and then lost by six or seven, you
know what I mean at the end, But they struggled
with the three worst teams at home. I don't care

(01:29:27):
if Lebron was playing or not. They still should be
good enough to beat those teams. He didn't even come
out and sit on the bench during the Warriors game
over the weekend. I mean, he didn't play because they
were resting him or load management whatever, dumb term they
want to use these days. But he didn't even come
out and sit on the bench for this team. He
went and sat back in the locker room. And the
excuse I was given over the weekend was he didn't

(01:29:51):
want to see JaVale McGee get his championship ring in person.
What were they dating? Is? What are we talking about? Lebron?
You have three already. I just like, everything's an excuse.
It's always it's some cocka mimi excuse. It's all crap.
This season has been a disaster so far, and it's
projecting to finish out a disaster if they can't pull

(01:30:13):
this trade off. Because now you got a bunch of
pissed off players in the same locker room that told him,
you guys aren't good enough to play here. And I
gotta give it up to the fans at in Indiana
last night. We got that sound Indiana last night. Great
great fans, Rob just wonderful fan. I mean, this is
this is now one is uhh, Who's who's taking the

(01:30:34):
free throw? Brandon Ingram you know, and mister untouchable, mister
you we're not trading that right, Yeah, So so here
he is at the free throw line and just listen carefully,
just saying Lebron's gonna trade. I mean, this is classic.
Here we go the average sixteen points last year, and
year two he is at seventeen point two and this
last five. It's like it's like an SEC football. I mean,

(01:30:57):
how classic is that. They're they're in unison as a
you can clearly hear it. And then JaVale McGee comes
steps up to the to the line, right and you
know what they say. Oh yeah, they said you're not
not worth trading because it's not worth trading. I mean,
this is classic. It doesn't get any better than that.

(01:31:19):
These are these are fans who know what's going on.
Everybody knows it. And even when they said the same
thing was Lebron's not the Lakers are going to trade you.
Lebron wants to trade you, right, yeah, they just everybody
knows this is about This is about Lebron. And that's
why the players rolled over yesterday. They didn't they didn't play. Yeah, you,

(01:31:42):
at some point you have to acknowledge the real possibility
that there is a group of players in the NBA,
whether they're just coming up or some of them are
established who are looking and going I don't need his
shine to further my career. I can do it on
my own. What did Kevin Durant say, go back, go back?
And what he's that was truth when he spoke that
that playing with him as toxic and not the word

(01:32:05):
he used to use toxic. And so if you go
back and get that Kevin Dorant thing, that things makes
a lot of sense, but very very interesting stuff. All right,
Lebron James has Lebron James put the Lakers season in jeopardy.
We'll continue with the conversation with you. Hit us up

and the Nets are above five hundred and up blowing
out Denver tonight, unlike the Lakers, and they've got a
fifteen point lead over the Nuggets, the one of the
best teams in the league. But but hey, look, you
won the pr battle, you got Lonzo Ball. We're all
good here, no doubt about it, all right? Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. Uh, that number is eight

(01:35:26):
seven seven nine nine six six three six nine. Jonas,
you want to talk to the people, Let's hit what
they have to say about Lebron before we slap Jason McIntyre,
who know that we're gonna slap him around in the
hot seat? Coming up? But the John in Texas, you're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up? John? Oh? John,
you got a beat? So what do you got going there?

(01:35:48):
All right, let's let's John call back? John got abducted
by alien ra How about Kirk in Sacramento? You're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Kirk? Hey?
What's going on? Guys? Thank you for taking my call?
No problem. How are you? I'm doing well? Thank you.
I agree with everything you guys have been saying about Lebron.
I've always been saying this to whoever I talk to.

(01:36:10):
I think he's a cancerous player. Now I'm not saying
he's not a great player, but wherever he goes, he
reeks havoc and he always tries to control the narrative
as far as you know, what people say about him,
what they think about him, And I think he destroys team,
then he destroys organizations, and I think we're seeing that
right now. The crazy thing is, these guys got blown

(01:36:32):
up by forty two points, and he doesn't sit next
to his teammates, he doesn't really address the media. Instead,
he posts an image on Instagram congratulating himself. What kind
of a leader is that? Yeah, yeah, that wasn't the
night to do it. I totally agree. Your team just
lost by forty two points. Your teammates are shook because

(01:36:53):
they know that you don't want them or you don't
think that you can win with them, and that's what
you do on that And I'm sorry. And look, this
is the same season he came out and said after
he won the title in Cleveland that made him the
greatest of all times. I mean, if you're already summing
up your career while your career is still going on,
that tells me that either you feel like you've done

(01:37:15):
enough or you're just not all that interested in this
whole team thing, you know. So that that is such
a great point, Jonas. It really is very bizarre because
that's when you knew you'd be Wait minute, you got
a four year kind down in Los Angeles, that's when
he became bad. How about have you come to LA
and win three championships in the roll knock off Golden State?
Now maybe I would look at it and go, wow,

(01:37:36):
that was pretty impressive. Hey, Tim, and Newport beat Newport.
I should say, California, you're on the odd couple. Fox
Sports Radio. What's up Tim? Hi, guys, how's it going?
Doing great? No problem? I just wanted to make a comment.
You mentioned a couple of minutes ago about Kevin Durant
and his comments about how the environment's toxic in LA

(01:37:57):
with Lebron, and I just wanted to say, like, I
think as comments were taking a lot of context, right,
because I think he when Kevin Durant made those comments,
he was saying that it was because the media, in
the media presence surrounding Lebron that makes it toxic. And
so every every young player on a team has to
know that at some point there's a possibility of you

(01:38:19):
getting traded, whether that's you're doing exponentially good in your
team isn't, or you're doing poorly, you have a bad
you have a bad contract that's gonna get unloaded. I
think it's more of a media presence. That's just no,
I don't I don't disagree, Tim, I don't disagree. But
he was saying around around Lebron, I mean that that Yeah,

(01:38:39):
and so it's not just toxic the media period, but
around Lebron And that's what you're right, that's what he said. Hey, Tim,
you're in Newport Beach. Yes, how far away from Sharky's
are you? That's trouble? Okay, stay away, Tim? Hey, Tim,
stay away, that's a that's all. I'll get you into
a divorce or a break up in a hurry. Trust me,

(01:39:00):
stay away. Can't do it? Hey, Tim, land mines everywhere there.
Rob Parker appreciate it? Is that right? Oh yeah? How
about Kevin in Michigan. You're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up? keV? Hey? What's going on? Robin?
Jason and nothing knownas what? Jonas? Hey, what's up? Kyle?
I'm sorry Jonas, Jonas my bad man. I'm sorry Jonas

(01:39:20):
all good, Chris Brady Quinn's boy, my bad he But listen, Rob,
I'm glad you made it back from Atlanta. Oh yeah, hey,
Oh I don't have any more singles though, that's the
only man, I'm all tapped out. What kind of guy?
And you know what? You know, I after going to

(01:39:43):
Magic City, I thought can I get another ticket for
her to come back to LA And then I just
snapped out. I just was I was stunned that you
went in basketball shorts. Hey, hey, what a tech man?
Jones called that the script Club or something like that. Yeah,
spl club. Yeah, yeah, he found he found like a

(01:40:05):
k and his syllables. He would call them si lavels.
I guess tyk man Jewel calls si lavels. But anyway,
but isn't that where isn't that where Hollywood writers go
to the Script Club? Yes, I'm sorry, you know, well
dine there it is. Hey, hour three, we finally got
our first pun from Rob Parker. We're gonna get it.
I thought we were gonna miss out on. Oh go ahead, Kevin,

(01:40:27):
go ahead. Hey, but listen real quick, guys, I've been
I watched a little bit of the show today. I mean,
I'm a Fox guy, and the narrative has been basically,
you know, these poor you know, young players on the
Lakers bench. You know they're desponded. They don't want to
sit next to Lebron poor. Then what was me? I'm sorry.

(01:40:47):
They were all in high school and they aspired to
play in college at the highest level. Then once they
got to that level, they inspired to play in the NBA.
Well guess what they made it. You get traded. This
is what happens if you doesn't sound like it's gonna happen.
But if you go to New Orleans or Team ABC
or D you're still going to get your money as
long as you produce. I mean, no, Kevin, you're you're

(01:41:09):
right about that. But this is the only thing. It's
one thing if it was like one or two players
are in a trade, but when it looks like you're
gonna get rid of the whole squad, don't tell me that.
They go he doesn't even want us, Like like he
doesn't he doesn't think we can win it. Kevin, did
you do you handle breakups better now or when you
were a teenager? Oh? Obviously now. Yeah, But like back

(01:41:32):
when you were a teenager, at the time, you somebody
told you, hey, it's not that big of a deal.
What do you mean, it's not of a that So
these guys later in their career, they're gonna look back
and go, hey, man, it was just part of the business.
But as for right now, this is the team that
he's got and they've burned bridges with those guys. That's
just that's that's a fact. But I just find an
hour to believe when you're making that much money that

(01:41:53):
you can you know, have as Rob likes to say,
have your panties in the bunch. You're making that much money?
Is that you're millionaire? A millionaires, A millionaires, A millionaire
now real quick. I live in Lansing, Michigan, which is
the blue collar town. They shut down a plant here
the other day and they told, you know, twenty one
twenty two to forty two year old workers, Hey, if

(01:42:14):
you want to keep your jobs, you have to take
a bus ride to Flint and work out our facility there.
Guess what, That's what they did. Well, But you know,
and keV, I get it. Two millionaires, that's what they
gotta do. No, I get that, And I appreciate the call. Thanks,
But but you can't always equate real life to athletics.
It's just totally different. And I get it all right.

(01:42:34):
Ernest in Detroit, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. Thank you a gentleman for taking my call.
I love a show. Thank you though, but real quick, uh,
mister Parker, I just wanted to congratulate you. It's Black
History Month. I was a print and press operator here
working at the Detroit Free Press, and I remember when

(01:42:55):
you became the first African American sports writer that we
ever had sixty two years. So I want to give
you big ups on that, Ernest, I hearn it. Thanks man.
We I appreciate all you trying to rob, but don't
you know what that was? That was? That was I
was the first black sports commas at the Detroit Free
Press and the paper was one hundred and sixty one

(01:43:17):
years old when they hired me, and it is one
of the one of the crowning moments of my career,
no doubt about as as it that's what's up, as
as it should be. Now with that being said, I
gonna rip me. That's all right, rip me, go ahead.
I want to hear it this this real quick. Um.

(01:43:38):
I'm sure you read curs well. I wouldn't look too
too much into the forty two point blow out, because
I'm sure you remember when your boy MJ lost by
thirty seven to the Knicks, and he lost by thirty
on a on a number of occasions. Now if you
think that that that that Lebron and Magic Johnson thought

(01:43:59):
that this roster what's going to take them to the
promised Land. I got some land in Louisiana that I
want to sell you. But also I want to also
you forgot to mention yesterday that m Lebron also established
himself as one of the top five players to reach
that thirty two thousand point mark. So I appreciate you

(01:44:20):
for thanking taking my call, mister Parker, and y'all have
a great show, all right, thank you? Nothing wrong with that.
Butter me up with the black month and then he
just ripped me. That's all right, robbed you. We got
time for a couple more we do, okay, Danny and
l Passo, you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Danny? How are you doing? Guys? First of all, Rob,

(01:44:41):
we're waiting for you to come down to the Passo.
The weather's great, the food is great, the women are beautiful.
We can get you some killer boots too, all right,
I need to absolutely I've never been there, Passo. What
about Marty Robbins, that great Marty Robins song Little fight Back.
The Marty Robins song is the Is is a YouTube
fight song. It's just at a faster pace. So good

(01:45:04):
Lass down in the West Texas town of El Pass.
So you don't remember that? So good? There you go.
Oh yeah, oh my god, deals me on Texas. I
fell in love with a Mexican. Well, of course Mexican. Hey,

(01:45:26):
Jonas knacks As. You don't forget it, no doubt, Hey, Danny,
all right, Danny, what you got for? It's very nice? Okay.
I have always had a trouble with lebron ever since
he called himself the king. There's only one king, and
his name is Richard Petty. When he no, no, no, no,
hear me, Danny, Danny, write a minute ant he recognized

(01:45:46):
one king in these United States. That's Burger King. Nuns
with Parker with Parker Volume two. There you go, all right, Danny,
quickly all we lost him? All right, right, sorry about that, Danny,
but that was a fun call. Right all right, keep

(01:46:06):
the fire department on standby. Our Fox Sports colleague Jason
McIntyre will slide into the hot seat next. Well, first,
let's get deb Carson in here for the latest in
sports deb What's happening alrighty, it's all about the NBA,
of course, trade deadline coming up tomorrow afternoon. Boston Globe
reporting that the Pelicans called the Celtics wanting assurances on

(01:46:28):
possible packages for Anthony Davis after July first. Celtics reportedly
made no promises, but did say no specific player would
be off limits. Davis not playing for the Pelicans tonight.
In fact, Alvin Gentry, the coach, says he's not going
to play until after the trade deadline. Bulls lead the
Pelicans right now seventy five seventy two with six to
go in the third quarter. Other trade news, the Rockets,

(01:46:51):
Cavaliers and Kings are completing a three way deal that
sends him On Schumpert to Houston, Alec Burke's to Sacramento,
Marquis Chris Brandon Knight, and a protected first round pick
to the Cavaliers. Cleveland also has to send Nick Stowskis
and Wayne Baldwin acquired from Portland over the weekend, to
the Houston Rockets. Wizards are sending Auto Porter to the
Bulls for Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker in a second

(01:47:12):
round pick in twenty twenty three. Heat are trading Tyler
Johnson and Wayne Ellington to the Sons for Ryan Anderson.
Ellington's expected to be released by Phoenix, and ESPN says
the Thunder among the playoff teams who will be interested
in Ellington if and when Phoenix does wave him. Boston
Bruins take on the New York Rangers in Wednesday's Discover

Leafs lead the Senators for two at the second intermission.

News from the NFL Patriots or hiring former Ohio State

(01:47:57):
defensive coordinator Greg Schiano for the dec ordinator job. In
New England, Falcons released forty four year old kicker Matt
Bryant and former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is expected to
be named head coach and GM of the new XFL
franchise in Dallas, Texas. We will be back to the
Odd Couple in ten seconds. But first a word from farmers.
From a dog accidentally flooding a living room to a

(01:48:19):
dog taking a joy ride, we've covered it. Talk to farmers.
We know a thing or two. Because we've seen a
thing or two. We are farmers underwritten my farmers struck
fire insurance exchanges and affiliates proucts unavailable in every state.
Rob Parker Jonas knocks back to you, guys, Jone, I
mean thank you so much. Sorry, I'm just Rob was

(01:48:40):
doing stand up during in the studio. It's just unbelievable.
One day I might be able to get a chance
to do it. Now Tho, it is the Odd Couple
coming to you live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios.
It's easy to say, fifteen percent of one car in
shorts with Geico. Go to Geico dot com. I'll call
eight hundred nine four seven auto. The only hard part

(01:49:00):
is figuring out which way is easier. And now I
just cannot wait because it's time for the hot seat
and we get a chance to jump all over. Jason McIntyre,
damn Son. The current temperature beyond Couple are making it
hot in here. Damn hot. Time to sit you down
in the hot seat. Yes, sir, it is the hot

(01:49:23):
seat the RT Couple of Fox Sports Rado. We do
this every single Wednesday, where we invite one of our
Fox Sports teammates to slide into the hot seat and
argue a few of their hottest takes against the dynamic duo,
the Odd Couple, Rob Parker and today Jonas Knox. Jason
McIntire is here with us tonight. Jason, how you doing excellent?

(01:49:43):
I think I'm the only person to come on the
Hot Seat and remain undefeated. I think, oh, please stop.
The internet says, hey, I'm turn out. Also, we got
something common you got? You guys are bugging out. I
gotta be honest. I'm gonna keep it und I don't
I want to beat you up as bad as the Patriots.
I felt kind of bad what they did to you

(01:50:03):
the digit thirty, So I won't hammer you like they did. Yeah,
it's okay. Hey, Hey, when you have four point four
million followers, hit me up. Jason McIntyre. All right, guys,
let's get right. Let's good. You know how it works.
Jason McIntyre's got thirty seconds to defend his hottest sports take.
Let's get started. Take number one. J Max says that

(01:50:28):
in all this trade talk going down right now in
the NBA, that the Boston Celtics are overvaluing all those
assets that they got. Jay Mackey got thirty seconds make
a count. Yeah. See, here's the thing. It's not even
a hot take, it's an accurate take. Okay, we know
Jason Katum is awesome, but the rest of her guys
they want to talk say they're not better than what

(01:50:48):
the Lakers can offer. First of all the two draft
picks they've got guys they're in between about the twelve
to eighteen names that Butter's not going to be better
than Brandon Ingram, not only better than Lonzo Well, the
Celtics only have Tatum and there's no way Danny Ainge
is trading him by the lake. Ye Living, you don't
want to play. He doesn't not want to play with

(01:51:09):
Anthony David Bryant winhorse game on my show and all
my time. Jason, you've been poisoned. Your mind has been
poisoned by Robert Geara, who is mister Laker fan. We
have sample sizes of what happens when the best player
on the team leaves. Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma their vomit,
Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They go to the Eastern

(01:51:31):
Conference finals and they're one game away from the finals.
To me better assets and bean Townlet let me just
quickly hold one say, how is Brandon Kyle Kuzma vomit
left the Laos became an All Star. It's not the
guys who are the vomit. Maybe it's a system. Luke Alton,
like Russell, has become a stud. Brandon Ingram and Kyle

(01:51:54):
Kusmas can sutly do the See Jason once again, you're
looking through things with rose colored glasses. You we saw
this Laker corps last year didn't make the playoffs without
Lebron James, and this year without Lebron James. They stink
that that's why this whole thing that the Lakers, Hey,

(01:52:15):
be quiet, it's my thirty seconds. They stink. Lonzo Ball
shoots forty one percent from the free throw line and
can't stay healthy stopping. The Lakers are trying to pedal
off hot garbage, and the Pelicans are smart enough not
to want it. This is a bad trade. The Lakers
aren't offering anything and that's why they should not make
the deal. No way, No round one is complete. Jason

(01:52:39):
McIntyre had better points, but he also did not adhere
to the rules hitting after the bell round run goes
to the odd couple. Better point, We had better. Oh
my god, Robert Gara, everyone knows Lakers are for life.
Topic number two Jason McIntyre again sticking with the NBA
talking about Anthony Davis. He's says that the Pelicans not

(01:53:01):
trading Anthony Davis is actually hurting the NBA as a whole. Jason,
you got thirty seconds make your case. Well, I hope
you guys know that NBA ratings right now on TV.
They're in the toilet, just like Robs takes on the Patriots.
The NBA is awful right now. Go out TNTESDN. They
are struggling. So now you're looking to know Anthony Davis

(01:53:24):
and Lebron what if the Lakers missed the playoffs? This
is awful for the NBA. They badly need to help Lebron.
Adam Silver, you better step in the league is hurting
right now. Lebron ruined the NBA. That's why we are
where we are. Somebody has to stand up and stop
the madness. And as the New Orleans Pelicans, they've already

(01:53:46):
been through hell. The Saint's got the robbed and now
they're best players trying to be hijacked to LA and
there's mouse air in the gumbo. It's a bad run
for New Orleans. They have to stand up to Lebron
and stop the maddness. The time has come to change
NBA America and it starts with stopping Lebron. And this

(01:54:08):
is a takeover of of the NBA. Jason, go, Jason, Oh,
how bad the NBA's hurting now? Parker, Seriously, have you
looked at the ratings down significantly? Candidates? Are you excited

(01:54:29):
for Bucks Nuggets? Look, it's all about anticipation. It's why
people have made the argument the worst thing to happen
in Major League Baseball is the Cubs winning the World Series,
because now the mystery is unveiled, there's nothing more for
them to wish for, there's nothing more to anticipate. As
long as Anthony Davis is on the New Orleans Pelicans,
you keep the conversations going. That's the best thing for

(01:54:50):
the NBA. The league is all about drama. That's what
they've built their brand on. And the longer he stays
in New Orleans, the more drama there is, and the
better it is for the league as opposed to go
to LA and killing the mystery. Round number two is
in the books. Jason McIntyre can't get a phone that works.
He loudes that round by default it was two one
for the points were bad anyway, but it's okay because

(01:55:13):
the last round is worth three points to save the
best for last. Here we go Round number three, the
hot seat, the our couple of Fox Sports Radio. Jason McIntyre. Yes,
it is points away from McIntyre again. He's down three.
He's putting plaster in his wraps like Margarito. Best he

(01:55:35):
can do his tie here. Jason McIntyre says that Kyler
Murray would be a top five pick in the NFL draft. Jason,
you got thirty seconds state your case. Ullo Baker Mayfield
one quarterback and it's basically the rookie of the year.
I mean, he got totally shopted. I don't know how

(01:55:56):
pick one Barkley won that, but I don't see why
Kyler Murray a five nine uarterback who could put up
massive numbers shouldn't go to the Raiders. It's four. I
mean maybe he falls a little in the top ten,
but this guy definitely is a top ten quarterback in
this week NFL draft for quarterbacks. You know what, he
would be a top ten pick if he had a
step ladder to see over the offensive line. Stop it.

(01:56:17):
We met him down in or in Atlanta. He's so small. Yeah,
he's better off going to baseball. And here's the other thing.
A lot of guys have excelled in college football and
haven't been able to make the transition. Can we talk
about Tim Tebow? We could talk about Johnny Manziel. We've
seen these guys before. Everybody doesn't make the transition at

(01:56:40):
his height will definitely hurt him. He's not a top
ten pick. Go ahead, Jason, do I really need to
see I mean, did you see what he did against Alabama?
The only quarterback all season to move the football? Folks.
This is a guy who put up massive numbers, the
same numbers as Baker Mayfield. This is a new NFL.
You don't have to be a six five pocket guy,

(01:57:02):
Rob like all the guys you followed. When you watch
a league in the sixty Wake Up, it's a new NFL.
Kyler Murray will succeed in the right system. I love
him to Oakland at four now, Jason said, Kyler Murray
will be a top five pick in the draft because
I'm looking at a draft right now that's got Arizona,
San Francisco, the Jets, the Raiders, in the Bucks. They
all have quarterbacks. So unless somebody's trading up, this isn't

(01:57:24):
getting done. And I don't know who's trading up. I
don't know. I don't know who's trading up for a
guy who when he sits on the curve his feet dangle.
It's not happening. Kyler Murray's not going in the top
five or ten. Bump it round number three, scoring this
one for the guy who's not offending the vertically challenge.
Jason McIntire crapp on Southern Victories. No still, I'm good food,

(01:57:53):
rob break. We trust him. Unbelieved of a ball. Parker,
Hey anytime anywhere, Buddy, I will hey to school. Hey, Jason,
the next time, Nay we make h Fantasy Island. You
can play her great village. Okay, that was good, was Parker?

(01:58:18):
You could be tattooed Parker. I will see you next
week on Undisputed and I will take you to school attend.
All right, we'll do that, all right. More of the
Odd Couple coming up next. Keeping locked by here a
Fox Sports Radio. From a hot air balloon landing on
a car to a load of concrete falling on one,
we've covered it. Talk to farmers. We know a thing

(01:58:39):
or two because we've seen a thing or two. We
are farmers underwritten my Farmers truck Fire Insurance Exchanges and
affiliates products unavailable in every state. Oh, come on, Rob,
so good. Here is Rob Parker. I'm Jonas Knox. It's
the Odd Couple here on Fox Sports Radio in uh

(01:58:59):
less than ten from now here on many of these
Fox Sports Radio affiliates, make sure you stick around for
the Jason Smith Show with Aaron Torrez in for Mike Carmen.
So those guys are coming up next here, Rob Parker,
you need to be called out on something. And look,
I'm not here to stir up problems, but let me
stir a problem. But if anybody knows you know how

(01:59:20):
this works. There are certain places during the holidays when
you go to buy a gift card that is a
bonus for buying a gift card, they'll give you an
extra ten bucks or an extra five bucks. If you know,
Buca de Beeppo was a place I'm gout a gift
card for somebody. They gave me an extra ten dollars,
so instead of the fifty dollars gift card I was
giving them, it turned into sixty for the price of fifty,

(01:59:40):
so they ended up getting sixty bucks. You have got
gift cards in your wallet that are clearly bonus gift
cards from you buying somebody else a gift card that
you kept. You kept the bonus cards and didn't give
it to them. No, the bonus card is for me
the purchase. No, it's not how it works. Nobody wants

(02:00:02):
if I give them nobody like nobody wants a sixty
dollars gift card. It doesn't even make sense. So people
or fifty Okay, so people want less money on the
gift card. Okay, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense.
I'm not gonna want anything illegal, And now I could
tell the incentive for me to buy, Like tonight, I'm
gonna have some buffalo while one right, I just happen

(02:00:25):
to have a couple of gift cards in my Pocketka. Four,
you haven't have four gift cards in your pocket. Okay,
you've got four five dollars gift cards in your pocket.
And the only way that I knew that those were
bogus gift cards that were bonus and handed out to
you as a as a return and thank you for
buying extra gift cards is because they're not even actual

(02:00:45):
credit card types their paper, they're like cardboard almost. And
don't forget this one too. Yeah, and he's also got
a cheesecake factory gift card that's only good for one
slice of cheesecake. You couldn't give that to somebody else.
He can like say, hey, piece of cheesecake on me,
that's gotta be yours. I gave some out, I did.

(02:01:05):
I did give some out because I can't eat that
much cheesecake. But this one tonight'll be for me. Now.
You were also in Atlanta this past week? Yes? Did
you bring clothes out to Atlanta and leave them there
that you didn't want? I actually talked to the mate,
and I left eight pieces of clothes and for her

(02:01:26):
to like, she said, she took them all. She said, oh,
I know somebody who can use these, and she took him.
I left some pullovers, some pants. That's what I do,
not only leave underclothes, obviously, but everything else. By the way,
that means that he left him there, and before he
could get out, the mate asked him about it. Oh,
there you go. Hey, don't forget about the podcast. It's
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio
