Speaker 1 (02:55):
And by the way, you were just making you know how,

Speaker 5 (03:04):
No, that's it, I'm done. I'm die one more pair.
I love them.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
You know people just think, oh, well, you're just flexing
and they're expensive and they are comfortable.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
I'm not even something. Let me tell you something.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
As Elijah, Elijah, Elijah, I'll come every time he wears,
and we got to hear about him.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
That's how you know that. Man said, Elijah, have.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
You worn the Travis Scotts Holland because you're knock getting
on the SBS.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
These those Johns are hard and they're fired, they're not.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
They are total. They go with everything. I'm not mad
at them. I'm just saying I got it. I'm a
fit officially out of I'm seriously gonna try to talk
to I'm gonna go off on you really bad. You
come in here and you're mad about like, man, did
you know the popcorn at AFC with thirty I'm going
to lose it. I'm lose it, okay.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
But what you say?
Speaker 7 (04:02):
You know, the Travis Scots are worth it though, Yeah,
I wish you had said something wrong. Warn't mind.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
They're worth it, Travis. You have all of them, do you?
Speaker 7 (04:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Are they not comfortable? Ball? This was? This is pre
daughter and Bow's got a baby. To Bo's got a
baby pre daughter.
Speaker 7 (04:18):
Yeah, well no, because she's three and I got him
a whilea.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
Does your wife know this?
Speaker 7 (04:23):
She doesn't have to know.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
She doesn't know how much they cost.
Speaker 7 (04:26):
That know, they're just there. They're jordan Ones.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
Yeah, jordans.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
Y nine dollars whatever I will says.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
You know, like like there's a young dude on a
bike today. I parked my car. He's on his bike.
He's riding past me. I don't know if he goes
to the school, but he's a young guy. He's like twenty.
Speaker 5 (04:53):
So this this, this, and he just rides by.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
He goes yo, bro that it And I know it
was about the sneakers, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Like that to compliment the cipher, you know what I mean?
They complete it. I'm not mad at it. I mean
I'm mad at you, but I'm mad at the shoes.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's all good.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
All right, let's welcome in the odd Couple crew, because
you wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him. Bo is our producer, Steve the Segers at
the anchor desk. He'll keep us updated throughout the program.
Elijah is our social media guru.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
That's right. He's here in the never heard of the building,
that's right, I still never I know he's five feet away.
We've never heard of him. And of course on the
ones and twos, mavin mavern huh there you go? All right?
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Bo, can you set the table for us?
Speaker 4 (05:45):
And rob G gets mad when I say that, But
you don't get mad because Bo doesn't get mad because
it's Darren.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
Lies, my brother. The types of stereotypes that we know
because I'm saying set the table because.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Rob Gee has been stereotapes this whole life, and that's
why he gets offended.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
No, he hasn't. Are you offended if I say something table?
Because Bo has not been discriminated. Can't even say it.
What I'm here to tell you both? Now, Rob G.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Go out and cut the lawn or manicured the law.
All I know is you that would be racist. You've
thrown them your keys before?
Speaker 1 (06:24):
What you oh, I did know it was you rob
g yours to kitch a car.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
You've been distress, that's me. BO.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
I've been standing outside a burned steakhouse in Tampa, Florida,
which is a popular steakhouse, standing there, trying to get
my car, and a guy walks up and hands me
his ticket. I'm not dressed in like some outfit or whatever,
and I'm like what, I'm like, excuse me, I'm waiting
for my car.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
See, oh you were oh, oh, you were standing here,
That's what he said. I said, And what are you doing?
Are you not standing here too?
Speaker 4 (07:00):
To use that as I was standing in the wrong
place because I was standing out front of the restaurant.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
You're not supposed to be at this restaurant having this
seventy five dollars steak exactly.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
No, No, take my keys, all right, bo.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
News of the day, Yeah, man gets uh gets fine
by the NBA.
Speaker 7 (07:18):
Yeah, fifty thousand dollars suspension from the NBA for Anthony
Edwards due to uh inappropriate language and obscene gestures towards
a fan during their Game one win over the Lakers,
when was that Saturday night.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Yeah yeah, and NBA not surprised when I saw the video.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Vulgar, just ridiculous, And this is further proof.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
I know he had a national Spike TV commercial and
for Christmas time and all that, but he will not
Anthony Edwards will not nt beat the face of the NBA. Okay,
this kind of behavior is ridiculous and it's not even
like juvenile like you say, well, he's a young This
is like we you're grabbing your body parts and talking about, uh,
(08:06):
your body parts in public to fans. Really, that's the
guy I want to be the face of my organization
holding his organ as he's the face of the organization.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
So it's organs right now, organ organization anything you want
to he's playing organ.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I'm just like, I'm flabbergasted. I'm not trying to be
uh hey, you kids, get off my long guy.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
You are.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
This is over the top. It's disrespectful. Their women there,
their kids there. Am I right or wrong? Calvin says.
The man that just throws singles at them, that's.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Okay, But I'm in the right place when I'm throwing singles.
This is in front of people. Do you like that? Seriously?
Speaker 4 (08:50):
I can't imagine your your wife, and your daughter sitting
up front and this guy's holding himself talking about how
big this thing is. I mean ridiculous. The NBA's lucky,
he's lucky. The NBON he finding fifty thousand. I'm serious
like that, Like you represent the league. You know that
uniform that it has on it doesn't say ant Man
(09:11):
on the front. It says Minnesota. It says the Timberwalls.
And when you sign that CBA, it's more about you,
it's about the league. You can't damage the league. That's
why they can find you. That's why they can suspend
you if you don't follow the rules. And you know what,
(09:34):
there's a morals clause. And if you really get too
dirty and down and dirty and do some foul stuff,
they can void out your entire contract, no matter if
it's a guaranteed contract.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
There's a morals clause for a reason. That's all. Enough
with the jokes.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
I'm not telling the guys gotta be straight laced and
can't say anything but really holding your genitail you at
an NBA game in front of kids and women, disgusting.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
The way you yelling at him. He might say the
same thing to you. You know, Okay, here's the thing.
Number one, it's absolutely obscene. We nobody would dispute that.
You can't dispute that. That's just as clear as day.
It wasn't something he was walking around some kid grabbing,
you know, his arm, trying to get a picture of something.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
He did something crazy. I can understand that a.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Couple of things, though I do believe these types of
things have happened way more than you were giving credence
to just not captured. I absolutely believe that in nineteen seventies, eighties, nineties,
twenty twenty tens and twenty twenties, people are doing and
saying that is just not captured because once a year,
(10:46):
twice a year picked the sport. We have these conversations
because he gets captured on video. Now to the face
of the league, this is where it gets interesting to me.
A few months back we were having this conversation Anthony Edwards,
who was asked this, hey man, a lot of people
are saying, who's gonna be the next face of the league?
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Are you?
Speaker 1 (11:04):
And he said, nah, nah, man, I'm not gonna be
the face of the league. No, no, no, And I said,
it's not that it won't be because the league doesn't
necessarily want it, or that the option isn't there the opportunity.
It's because he don't want it, and he doesn't want
it because of I don't have the personality. I don't
want to do the commercials. Nah, he doesn't want it
because he knows himself. He's self aware enough to know
(11:27):
I say what I want, I do what I want.
I might do some wild stuff. I might have some
bboled up chicks from online accusing me of having their babies.
If you know the stories, I'm gonna leave that alone.
If you know some of his drama. My point with
him is, I think he can't be the face of
the league because he's choosing not to because he's like,
I know where I am, I know the life I'm living,
(11:47):
and I'm comfortable and where I am right now. But
what's gonna happen to Ann Edwards? He's gonna become one
of the faces of the league. I lie a couple
of people who did what he's doing. Let me walk
you through history. Michael Vick was not your traditional quarterback
in the NFL. Well, g golly shucks, we're here to
(12:08):
play as a team, and by golly, it was all
of us and we and team. Yeah, Michael Vick had
corn Rows was in rap that no, no, no, no, that's
not being obscene people.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
And what he's dressed and music. Let me finish, let
me land. It's not you're not gonna land. You're gonna
crash this plan. I'm not saying you can go out
and grab your junk all the time. But what I'm
saying is Antie often becomes popular. That's what I'm trying
to say, Rob Anti, You're supposed to be golly shucks,
(12:45):
buttoned up.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
Mike Vick like being buttoned up. It's about decency. Come on, Kelvin,
you your dummy and down this conversation. It's about decency.
Come on, man with a guy grabbing his junk, Nation
women finish, thank you.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Dennis Rodman of scene doing wild stuff doing stunts was
more popular than Michael Jordan and every all.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
The team's even said it. For three years. He was
never the face of the league. That's what we're talking about. Mike.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
What I'm saying is he's going to be the antithesist.
He's going to be the other face of the league,
like a dual face. Because of the okay, okay, So
then all the people I just named Michael Vick and
all these people who are anti what your typical face
of the league is. It often happens where one of
or the other side of the coin is that person
(13:44):
face and somebody who's great. All Everson was the league.
Alan Iverson did things that were seen as of seeing
when he was if you let me talk, he's rapping,
and he was saying lude stuff so much so that
the NBA had on the side because he was doing
this on your girl. I won't say what he was
saying in the songs. Can you not say those in
(14:05):
your rap songs? There is something to have you not
studied the history of pop culture, rock and roll, the
antithicists of what you're supposed to be wild, crazy, sex,
drugs rock and roll something that can be because.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
There are morals claus in a record deal.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
I'm asking you, there is no I just don't use
it because there is no there is.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
You kidding me clause I won't use them.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
Tell me to tell me the contract that was ripped
up because some musician was on drugs.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Acid point.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
They utilize it when they need to do you not
understand that I'm talking about. I will hold on to
it because you're selling out arenas and selling albums. I
don't care what you're doing because my point exactly makes
it work and is popular. So and Edwards with all
these antics, is going to become even more popular because
people he's cool, he's funny, he's raw, he does what
(15:04):
he does. He ain't gonna change. He's authentic. That's all
I'm trying to say. I didn't say lude acts with
a way to go. What I'm saying is when you're
authentically yourself and living a certain top of lifestyle and
got sometimes that makes you popular and you're the other
face of the coin of the face of the League.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Are you buying
Kelvin's that is actual? That lewd behavior is going to
make him pop? And I said, or or in front
of your wife and kid grabbing his junk and an
NBA arena, that that's what's gonna make it long enough?
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Stop?
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Who was one of the most We're not talking about artists, Mike.
We're talking about basketball players, great players.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
You want decent people on the face of leagues.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
That's all we want you to be and just decent,
be great on the court.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
And be a decent human being. Okay, Kumbai out of you?

(17:21):
Edwards being the face of the league. Rob and I
disagree on a couple of things. I think we both agree.
Lud axe and all that is out of line, especially
when you're doing it in front of family guests, family family,
family friendly show. However, I spaded my.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
Case justin in New Mexico. You're in the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
What's up? Justin?
Speaker 8 (17:41):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (17:41):
Fellas?
Speaker 8 (17:42):
Yo?
Speaker 9 (17:44):
Hey, appreciate you guys.
Speaker 8 (17:45):
Man, Man Calvin, I can't let.
Speaker 9 (17:49):
You rock like that, brother, y'all. Man, we got to
bring you down.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
Man.
Speaker 9 (17:52):
I agree with Rob one hundred percent.
Speaker 8 (17:55):
Dude. You can't do that, man.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
You can't maybe in a lot room when.
Speaker 9 (18:00):
There's some hitting cameras, you can't do that on the floor.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Man.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
I mean agree with that point. That was not at
all what I did. That's not what I was saying.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
I was saying because of him doing that and being
who he is and authentic and talking smack.
Speaker 5 (18:13):
Those types of things make you endearing. You endear to.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
People, and that's all I'm saying. So I agree that
you shouldn't do that. Clearly, I got three young daughters.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
He did that. Oh I got to cover eyes. Hold on,
hold on now, come on.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
An chili tim in Atlanta. You're in the YD couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
What's up, Chili yo?
Speaker 6 (18:30):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (18:31):
How are you good?
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Good?
Speaker 8 (18:33):
Rob? Before you stop yelling at me, you give me
two minutes, let me let's say.
Speaker 5 (18:37):
You said should I did you say that again?
Speaker 8 (18:39):
I said, before you started yelling at me, let me
let me get my two minutes out, then you can
yell at Okay, I know, Rob, I've been calling just
the beginning.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Rob.
Speaker 8 (18:50):
You know what I stand for. You know I'm a
Christie man. So obviously I don't believe in you know,
that type of bedavia. But I understand what Kevin is saying.
I'll give you some jumple squad, because especially in our community,
he will do it just like obviously did because they
felt like people feel like the man is picking on him.
And so the more that they feel like the man is,
(19:11):
you know, kitting on him, the more that they're gonna
rock with people like Answer Hill. So I get what
you're saying. He may not be the base of the
NBA league, but he will get his follows because some
folks feel that way. I mean, look at the President
of the United States. He does a lot of things
that people don't say. At fifty sixty people to vote for.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
Him, but that doesn't mean it's decent.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
And the difference is he doesn't have to answer to anybody. Okay,
no no, no, no no no, no, no no. He
didn't sign a contract with with like the company.
Speaker 5 (19:45):
It's the same thing with you or me.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
If I go out on a comedy stage and do
a comedy performance that is raw and racist and and
all kinds of stuff, I will not be on this
show on Monday. Okay I won't. I don't care what
it's on my own time. Well, I will not be
on that show. People like that will do that. And
I'm saying he's different because he has to answer to
(20:07):
the Timberwolves.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
He has to answer to the NBA. That that's my point.
I get that, and that's why I say.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Donald Trumps as the as the gauge Andre in Massachusetts,
You're on the odd couple.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
Fox Sports Radio, what's up, Andre, Hey.
Speaker 8 (20:23):
How you doing.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Thanks for taking the call.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Listen.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
In terms of Anthony Edwards, Rob, I am on your
side on this. Any aspiration to be with Victor wen Binyama,
to be with Shake Gilgie alexand to be the faith
of the league. He can't conduct these type of antics.
And frankly, this is his brand, you know, one hundred
percent authentic.
Speaker 9 (20:39):
Keeping it real.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
You know, He's gonna say how he feels, and it
does help him in terms of clicks, in terms of
people kind of looking at him saying that he's walking
the walk and talking to talk, but he too often
goes overboard. And the bottom line is that the things
that he that he's involved with off the court, you know,
and that's his own personal life. But nothing is personal.
Everything is public, right, yep, right, And so these things, Yes,
(21:02):
he's gonna get his money, you know, he can be
you know, successful and wealth you know the rest of
this stuff, but he's not going to have that level
of credibility that Lebron James had, that the Kobe Bryant,
that's those people.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
That that's what I'm talking about, that level and if
you're Sprite or some of these people. You looking at
this going, this is the guy representing our really seriously.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
Like like Big Hiley, that's the guy. Rob I do no, no, no,
what I do?
Speaker 4 (21:27):
I do not lude when people are touching it. But
you're acting as like corn rolls and rapping music. My god.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
But you know what I'm saying is you also know
people love to be seeing companies brands. And I'm not
saying the NBA is saying grab it junk, but some
of these brands are like yo, popularity is popularity and
you've seen that for fifty sixty years.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
Kevin.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
What I'm saying, let's squeeze in Kevin and Culver City.
You're on the eye couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's
up keV?
Speaker 5 (21:58):
All the time? US Anthony Edwards is involved.
Speaker 9 (22:02):
As Fell's let's feelings say, Calvin, this is my air,
this is your air. I'm really passionate about this because
I saw it. I lived this.
Speaker 8 (22:10):
Look.
Speaker 9 (22:11):
Kobe Bryant was the best player in two thousand and
one in the NBA in the finals, but when they
played against the Sixers, the Lakers against Alan Iverson, the
most polarizing player was Alan Iverson. Now I can't say why,
but it's just the way culture is. Kids gravitated to
the look of the cornls and the tattoos. Now, Anthony
Edwards doesn't want to be the face of the league.
(22:32):
He'd rather go to Allen Iverson route. And you got
somebody like Shih who's going to Michael Jordan route of
being more corporate and buttoned up. But America responds to
the Anthony Edwards route. I don't know what it is.
Maybe it's the coachure. Maybe it's the way the suburban
coulture looks at hip hop.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
And haven't I just Kevin Michael.
Speaker 5 (22:53):
Jordan's doesnt thing? Just called decency, That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
Disagrees what you're saying with decency, know that it's not
I didn't say about popularity. The conversation was, I said,
he will not, even if he's a great player, be
the face of the league because of these things you're
talking about out in the.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
Street, and the other.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Were Sometimes Darson, who's trying not to be the face
of the league for a handful of years, becomes the
face of a league. That's all I'm saying. Alan Iverson
didn't notice.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
As the only thing that he did, which I disagree
with David Stern. People who are singers, musicians and writers
and all that and photographers, they do have.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
A poetic license.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
And I'll always stand up for people whoever write to
sing the lyrics that they want, and I have a
right not to buy the song or not.
Speaker 5 (23:55):
But when I go to an NBA game, I don't.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
Expect a star player with our wife and kids sitting
there to grab his genitalia.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
All right, I don't. And there he didn't do that.
He did not do that. Dennis Rodman, he grabbed his win.
What game you literally saw? Did you watch the DoD
When did he grab out? October eight? He was he
was the faith of the league. He was. That was
a conversation. Oh yes, we get up there.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Good to Steve. We'll argue later. All right, we have uh,
who's coming up?
Speaker 5 (24:29):
We got uh?
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Then we got that's Mark Medina, Mark Medina getting ready
to come up. We'll talk to more NBA with him. Actually,
got some games going on right now, Dame's return. Right now,
we're checking egg and you're set on what's trending with
Steve the Sager.
Speaker 10 (24:41):
Yeah, Dennis Rodman was kicking the junk now the.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
Other exactly he kicked the photographer. Thank you.
Speaker 10 (24:47):
Damian Lillard is back in the cory. He missed over
a month after a blud claude. He was a starter
for the Bucks. But they're in danger of going down
two oh in this first round, best of seven because
at Indiana, the Pacers lead is thirty six twenty four
with about two minutes left first quarter.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Sa If I have a question for you real quick,
is it going down to two?
Speaker 5 (25:06):
What is correct or either work? It would depend on
the subject. Drammatically. Yeah, okay, but I'm.
Speaker 10 (25:13):
Even the Milwaukee Bucks fan in this building, which doesn't
believe in the Milwaukee Bucks, so therefore they're really not
the subject of this conversation.
Speaker 5 (25:22):
Indiana just cry because he heard you say that. Indiana,
by the way, was.
Speaker 10 (25:25):
A fifty win team this season, you know, kind of quietly,
and they've gotten healthy recently and they're shooting very well
twelve of eighteen.
Speaker 7 (25:33):
To start this.
Speaker 10 (25:34):
So thirty six twenty four of the lead over the
Bucks late in the first quarter and about to start
the second of the three games in the NBA playoffs tonight,
Oklahoma City, going for a two zero lead, is hosting
Memphis again. Thunder in the regular season had a record
of sixty eight and fourteen and showed it over the
weekend and the opener. Lakers hosts Minnesota again ten pm
(25:54):
Eastern Time. Minnesota took game one of that best of seven.
Boston's Jason Tatum is doubtful for Wednesday with a bruce
wrist because of a hard landing after an opponent's flagrant foul.
Anthony Edwards was fined fifty thousand dollars for his language
and gesture toward a fan at La Saturday. In the
NHL playoffs, We've got four games tonight. Carolina has a
two to one lead on the Devils late in the
(26:15):
second About to start it is Ottawa against the top
seed Toronto in Canada and Florida at Tampa Bay has
a game one in an hour. The late games in
Vegas eleven pm Eastern Time. Golden Knights took the opener
against Minnesota and host him again. The New York Islanders,
team president and general manager last seven seasons, lou La Morello,
will not return. Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins reported to voluntary workouts,
(26:40):
even though Michael Pennix is now the starter there to
Major League Baseball. The Cleveland Guardians have won four in
a row, but the Yankees lead one nothing in the
sixth at Cleveland. Reds tied one to one at the
Marlins in the bottom of the fourth. Padres, with a
record of sixteen and seven, lead to nothing at Detroit
in the top of the fourth. The Dodgers are sixteen
and seven. They're about to start in Chicago against the Cubs.
(27:02):
That Stustin may again show to Imanaga. By the way,
for the Cardinals, who've lost five in a row. Second
baseman Brendan Donovan out tonight with a rib injury. He's
batting three fifty six.
Speaker 1 (27:11):

What's up man? How are you hey?
Speaker 6 (28:09):
Kelvin rob Hey, I'm going to give you a live
report right now at Crypto dot Com arena before Lakers
Wolves up, witnessing Anthony Edward pushed two half court shots.
He stands in a rap music. It doesn't seem like
he's bothered about that fifty K fine for the Ebstein gesture.
Speaker 5 (28:24):
Yeah, we just talked about it. We can't. We can't
have any more of that. Yeah, annoying him.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
If you told me at the end of this playoff
run he had one more incident, they wouldn't shock the Lakers.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
What issues do they need to correct because they can't
afford to lose this game and they were so unimpressive
in Game one.
Speaker 6 (28:43):
Rob, they got a lot of issues to correct. Lebron
Gotta has to score a lot quicker than midway through
the second quarter. Austin Reeves has to play much better.
They got to be more physical, they got to out
rebound the Wolves, and they got to turn the ball
over less. Those are all the issues that contributed to
the loss against him Soda in Game one. And they
can't just rely on Luca Dodgers, so they've got to
(29:04):
have a balanced offense.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
So did they just attack Weaves Austin Reaves and just
said you're not getting.
Speaker 6 (29:12):
Off I think what it was was that, you know,
Luca understandably so wanted to come out with a lot
of energy, show Bertie Golbert a little bit. He was
getting his numbers, but then just became a one on
one affair, not much ball move And I don't put
too much blame though on Luca, because guys weren't aggressive
enough or making shots and so Rob. Usually when I
(29:33):
say game one loss is a seven game series, all
these cliches, I think that's true, but I would say
this is a must win situation for the Lakers. Gown
two to zero. It was a real deal. They're in Minnesota,
they could easily put this away, so they got to
win an I think whoever wins Game two is going
to wind up winning the series.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
How does JJ solve his death like problem?
Speaker 1 (29:56):
As far as giving guys minutes and getting some offense
from that bench, That's one of the things I think
Luca and Lebron and also have kind of covered up
the bad sense of the bench.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
What does he do? Is it getting done connect more minutes?
Speaker 2 (30:08):
No?
Speaker 6 (30:09):
I think honestly, it's more about just making sure there's
good bald booman and everyone's being aggressive. When you look
at the Lakers' depth compared to Minnesota, Minnesota definitely has
a better bench, but I think that their bench has
been pretty good. I mean, you've seen in recent weeks
guys like Dorrin Phinney, Smith, caave Vincent, Ruly Hatchamore hitting threes. Obviously,
(30:30):
Luca Tachis and Lebron James have to be at their best,
but it's not like the bench are scrubs. As long
as they're more aggressive, I think everything will work out.
Another thing that I think won't be replicated when you're
looking at the Wolves, the law of averages with their
three point shots. It's one thing for Anthony Edwards to
make threase. He's been having a career high season with that.
But Nasreez great player, won six Man of the Year
(30:52):
last season for a reason, but he's not going to
be going off from deep. So again, I think if
if the Lakers are more aggressive from start to finished,
wish they could win this game. But again, Minnesota is
not a cake walk. They are the real deal, so
this could be a tough one.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
Hey, have we forgotten about the Pacers because seriously, because
like I think, at some point during the year, we
just stop paying attention to them. Remember, they beat the
Knicks in the Game seven to get to the Eastern
Conference Finals, right and now here they are beating up
on the Milwaukee Bucks up forty to thirty in Game two.
Speaker 5 (31:25):
How good are the Pacers?
Speaker 6 (31:27):
The Pacers are great because Tyris Howburn is a really
great point guard, really fast.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Great leader.
Speaker 6 (31:32):
I think while we're forgeting about the Pacers, Eastern Conference
has two juggernauts with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Cellars.
I don't think that's going to change. But what could
change is could Indiana get past Milwaukee hand them the
third consecutive first round playoff backs. It's very plausible because
of how much they've dominated so far this series. With
the Knicks, I would think that they still advanced, but
(31:55):
they're not going to get past the second round. And
so with Indiana, they are a good team, but I
think they're stealing his second round because evitably it's going
to come down to Boston Cleveland, whoever's healthiest in the
Eastern Conference Finals ultimately prevail.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Yeah, I don't disagree with that at all. Real quick,
last night, Kawhi goes just reminding people house great he
is when he's healthy.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
What do you make of that? That's been a fun series.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
One one Denver and Clippers, two really good games.
Speaker 6 (32:21):
I think every game is going to go down the wire,
could be seven games, anyone bet here. Look, Kawhi Leonard
has obviously shown through his career how good of a
special player he is. The only question is can he
stay healthy? And Guys, I know that every season we
have to have a wait and see approach with us,
but there's a very realistic pathway that he's going to
get through this postseason healthy. You know why because he
(32:41):
hasn't had any major injuries since March. He hasn't been
on the load management program. The only games that were
significant that he missed was at the beginning of the
season to heal that right knee that plagued him during
last year's playoff run and sideline him for Tbsday. But
the last two months he has been on a tear
and I expect that to continue.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
All right, well you go get on the tear.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
I know you got some TV to do, man, so
we'll let you go.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
Brother. Thank you so much. Mark, We appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
All right, here we go one and two last night.
My total is now one O two and one O seven.
Let's go, best bet. I'm taking the Lakers minus five
and a half. I don't like the way they're playing,
but I think they have to win. Yeah, and if
they don't win this game.
Speaker 5 (34:57):
This pretty I didn't think it'll be that high. Is
five and a half.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Well, because it's a desperation game, so they think that
the Lakers have to come out and that's what I'm
banking on. If the Minnesota wins, man, I'll be stunned.
Actually that'll be That'll be an l a'll Except if
they do beat them, I'm okay with you're doing that.
Speaker 5 (35:15):
I'm okay with that one.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
I took the Bucks plus three and a half in
my own mind, thinking the same thing.
Speaker 5 (35:21):
Like the series is a lot of games. I know.
I like this one is.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
Down by eleven here early in the early in the
second quarter, Indiana and then Memphis. I took Memphis plus
fourteen and a half, not that they would win, but
they would lose respective respectably. And guess what, they're already
getting one out the building. The last score I saw
it was like sixteen to seven or something like. I mean,
(35:48):
what is right out the gate? It was like seven
seventeen sixteen to seven up? All right, Memphis, Gridley's plus
fourteen and a half, Bucks plus three and a half
and the Lakers minus five and a half.
Speaker 5 (36:01):
And remember now it's only seventeen seven. I know it
was something like that. I was close. You got, you got, hope,
I got. I need fourteen and a half. They can
lose by ten and I'll be happy. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:11):
Remember I'm not telling you who to bet on. I'm
telling you who I bet on.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Man, I wanted to. I wanted to go ask somebody
real quick. Actually a few people. And you and I
have been keeping an eye on this New York Knicks
Piston series.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
Ro because we got a bet on it.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
We do have a bet on it, and right now, yep,
two hundred dollars max right now.
Speaker 5 (36:30):
One one.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Uh been a fun series so far, competitive, uh you
know a little like we said so whole playoffs has
been a little spicy. I like that, you know, I
like that little kick when it comes to what I'm consuming.
But I got I know, I have issues right now
with somebody. I have issues first and foremost with Broadway Brunson.
Jalen Brunson is a talented player. He's a good player.
(36:54):
I like Jalen Brunson, but yesterday last night really was
aggravating me because he he was trying to bait so
many calls, throwing himself into the body and then as
if he wasn't getting the files assure Thompson filed out
the game.
Speaker 5 (37:11):
Tom Then you got tips going on talking about.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
The all the free throw and Kay Cunningham does this,
Why isn't Jalen getting the same calls and going to
the free throw line. Kate shot like one more free
throw than him. I think he shot twelve. I think
Brunton shot eleven. So I'm like, well, you filed guys out,
you got your free throw shots. I was blown away
at that. That was not the issue. Yes, you can.
I get that. Coaches gonna ride the reps a little bit,
(37:35):
Rob That's a part of the game.
Speaker 5 (37:37):
You know what else is a part of the game.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
Carl Anthony Towns akakat not playing like he's Kat Williams
five foot two, ten points, six rebounds.
Speaker 5 (37:49):
Hello, Cat Williams.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
That's why I'm gonna call him until he turns back
to Carl Anthony Towns, because there's no way Jaylen Brunton
should be dominating the game like that for the Knicks. Now,
maybe it's maybe I'm not inside the locker room. Maybe
Karnthon Town's like, yo, man, pass the ball, work the
ball around, moving around, Jayleen, you kind of got the
drib dribble, trying to draw file, trying to draw fil,
(38:11):
try to draw foul. But Carl Anthony Towns, this is
why people have issues with him. It's you can't not
show up. You can't get one shot in the second
or three shots in the second half. You're too important,
You're too good of a player. You can't not get
a shot in the fourth quarter. Like, make that make sense?
So to me, Timms, work on getting a better offense,
(38:35):
work on working finding ways to get some depth, and
stop making guys play till they have no energy left.
And Brunton just go do what you do. You were
a heck of a player. You were an All Star,
you're one of the best players in the league. But
just go play trying to draw the files you went out.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
Ting Game three.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
All I'm to say to you, if the Knicks have
twenty five free throws and the Pistons have five, you
will not be singing that too.
Speaker 5 (38:57):
Are they going to the only question?
Speaker 4 (38:59):
I hear you in that, Mama know I'm because what
they'll say is look at them trying to even it out.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
That's all I'm saying. Just remember that in the free
throw number.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Just go to the whole I agree, that's my only issue,
and make car Anthony Towns not be Cat Williams
