to go as well in this hour number two on
a worship Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Oh man, we love it. We said it earlier. Alex
hit me with it. Where's the beef? Where is the beef?
And we've been wondering at Rob for years now. The
NBA has gone soft. Yeah, he's gonna solvet say you
And it was just becoming like, hey man, let's hang
out and guys weren't going.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
On vacation, nigga, let's work out together.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Let me show you my move so when we're in
the playoff series, you'll be able.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
To stop it. How's that?
Speaker 1 (02:06):
And it wasn't that, you know, guys can't be friends.
It's just we don't want to see that on the court.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
That's what I loved about Gianni's don't you remember he
was like, none of them.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
I'm not working out with you, I'm not going on Vacationsmar.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Jackson, he's not doing my friends with these other quarterbacks
like that. He's like great people when we're all wing
the careers over. So again, nobody's saying that have to
hate each other, but we want to see when you
guys are out there that ninety four feet court, you know,
it's all on the line. And so lately it's starting
to feel like we're getting that back a little bit.
Rob Uh and specifically Damian Lillard didn't even play Game
(02:41):
one against the Pacers Bucks Pacers, and he at the
end of the game, him and Tyre's Halliburn start getting
into it and it looked like, you know, hey, they
might really actually get into it and have some issues.
And then last night they have some more issues. A
couple of times the whole benches were clear, this is
what Halliburn had to say.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Fun everybody lives for.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
We're all competitors, want to compete the today, so have
a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Compete right now.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
He went on to say a whole lot more as
I'm choking here. He talked about the beef, and he said, clearly,
there's beef. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. We don't like them,
they don't like us, and it is what it is.
It used to be like that for and it ain't
like me.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
I loved it. Yeah, I love that.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
He Oh, we're just here. We're not even noticing it.
We don't care about that. Hey, we don't like them,
they don't like us. It is what it is. It's
beef on site. Let's go. I love that. And you
see what you see with the Knicks and the Pistons
going at it's chippy.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
I'm loving you. Remember the Knicks and the heat, the
Knicks and the Pistols. You go on and on all
about these teams and we already know that the Celtics
and the Pistons, the.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Bull Celtics, I mean, and the Philadelphia and the Celtics.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Back in the day, it was just like they had
beef and they go at it and it was okay,
Like there's a beef going on. Make you have to
earn it, be physical and have to overcome that.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
And the league really have become really soft. Halliburton like
is a nice.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Smile, my god, Like when you look at him, all right, light, bright,
damn there, yellow or whatever you want to call him,
but you hear my boy, like, you wouldn't think he'd
be a bad guy at all.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
But remember so it's about being bad. Oh, this is
about Dame. Time he hit and they playing game I
think it was last year. He hits a big shot,
looks at Dame, does the little Dame time tap My watch.
Dammian Lillard being from the town town business, Oaktown.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
He ain't like that, and he kept tracking that.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
All right, that's how we're doing young blood, Okay, And
I like that these young guys are going at the
older guard. It's all respectful. They're only doing it because
they know who you are. They know what your legacy is.
And I'll give you another example. I love seeing how
Ann Edwards is like yo, Lebron James one of the
best players that to play basketball, and I want to
get him the heck up out of here.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Holla. I want to be the one that knocks him out.
I love it. Then what does he new? Game one?
He's talking smack, he's going crazy.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Obviously did some low things in the crowd, but on
the court he does a little Spider Man to Luca.
I mean, I'm just enjoying that. We're seeing the competitive
edge back. We're starting to see guys going at it,
getting chippy and chirpy, even the Magic had a couple
of moments and in their game before obviously before the
game got out of hand, but when they were going at.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
It as well, and the playing and the playings too
so and I get it.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
The League David Stern did this with the fighting like
if you were the second man in that was it
was helpful, like the great.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
A lot of people think that cost the uh the
Suns because remember when they threw Steve Nash into the
scorers table and everybody kind of came out, and Mary
came out and like yoyo, what's going on?
Speaker 4 (05:52):
And he got kicked out.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Well, that also happened in the Nixon Heat in a
playoff series. There was a there was a fight near
the Knicks bench, so of course it was hard to
reframe the players from getting involved because it happened right
in front of them, whereas the Heat were down on
the far end, so their coaches stopped those guys from
coming down. So the Knicks had like six or seven
(06:14):
players suspended, and the League didn't do it wasn't fair
because they instead of like suspending all of them for
one game, because they wound up be in a seven
game series. If you suspend them all, let the Knicks
lose with a shorthanded team, then they would be full
straight and you have a game seven. What they did
(06:35):
was they took three or four off one game, right,
so they were always under man for both games, and
the Knicks lost the next two games and they were
up and they lost the series.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
I think what we saw, and David Stern talked about
it got blessed Dad.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
He talked about how I think we let the league
go too far.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
In the late eighties early nineties because they slug it
out final score seventy five.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
And they used to like there were like blows thrown. Yeah,
plenty of blows, like like just out of nowhere.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
And I think, like we see right now happening with
the wild Wild West within I l I think there
was an over compensation where even if a guy had
nothing to do with beef, but if he dunked on
the guy and just screamed, I don't want him to
do anything exactly over you know, you you file somebody hard. Well,
we gotta go review this review that it was a
hard common fu Come on right when you hear the
(07:28):
own commentators who are plaid by the league. All right, man,
this is getting ridiculous. All right, this has come on league.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
It's one thing, and I get it, like nobody wants
to brawl, all out brawl of people swinging on people.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
But a hard fouling basketball like not.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
A dirty play, a playoff foul like like they and
in the day when I was in New York covering
Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason Lake, guys, dude, you better
not go down a lane and if you do, be ready.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
That was like you're gonna feel it, like given the
guards Hot Starks and Derek Harper were a little great.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah, yeah, you would feel it. That's all.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
It wasn't dirty. It was just like physical. Uh, but
beefs are good. And I'm with you. I'm enjoying like
the little chatter and going back at it.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
There's nothing wrong with.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
It, stephan Em Doko going at it. You know, even
you got head coaches and players going at it.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
And he about that only thing about a coach and
a player. You're not only court anymore, like if he was.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Having flashbacks when he was playing, do you know what
I'm like?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
But the reason I like him saying like like like
you can't do anything about it, as like if you're
a play I go at you.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
The reason I like it though, is because it just
if your coach is going, he's all in, he's buying
the team, he's loving you know, he's supportive, and now
you want to go out.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
I mean, I'm running through a wall from our coach.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
So it continues to keep that animosity up and keep
that energy level up. And I just I just really
enjoyed that, man, because like tonight, were probably gonna see
Chagoon and Draymond kind of be you know, passionate and
going at it. So I just I think it's great
for the league. I think we heard Adam Silver talk
about the ratings were good over the weekends. I think
people are just kind of interested because again it's just competitive.
(09:08):
It's a little more aggressive, and so I'm really enjoying
that energy, spirit, that fight back and looking at fight
right now. You got the Orlando Magic fighting right now,
down two with a chance to make it down one
and with a free throw on the and one here
with the less than fifty seconds in the half, first half.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
So that's my thing. I love it. It's great.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Nobody's asking people to really nobody an Thomas and Michael
Jordan hate each other till they die. Nobody's you ain't
got to be that getting ulcers from your bitterness and
hatred towards a player. But competitive talking smack and Edwards go,
you know, going at Lebron, going at Luca, and like
I said, the hard files in the Celtics game, and
with the magic filing Jason Ton, nobody asking to hurt them,
(09:47):
but hey, higher playoff files and the Knicks Pistons getting
agitated getting at it.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I think it's great for the game, and it makes
you feel like they really out they want it. They're
not just satisfied that they make a bunch of money.
They really in the care and their passion. That's if
you're playing basketball. I mean, I don't why are you playing? Okay, yes,
everybody's getting paid. Don't you want to win? Like I
tell you all the time. If we're keeping score, I
want to win. If we're not keeping if we're not
(10:13):
keeping score, then all right. I could have fun in
the backyard or with friends or just whatever.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
There's no score. The score Okay, I'm trying to win
the game. I'm trying to win whatever we're doing here.
But as somebody who's covered the league since nineteen eighty seven,
and I've seen it evolved, Yes, I've seen it evolve.
I thought the league got way too soft and took
out that edge.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
I don't want.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Brawls, I don't want fights, I don't want all that.
But I wanted to be competitive. I wanted to be physical.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
We've had it the Laker, that Clipper Clipper Denver, when
Jamal Murray lifted up Norman Pole, like literally, I don't
know what he was thinking, Manti, what was your man thinking?
Or that was she's not a nugga fan, but he
was lift them up and normal pot and they got
into it.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
The whole teams got into it. A bunch of texts.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
I just yes to your point, care passionate, intense, and
a lot comes with.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
That, right and that and being physical is a part
of it. It doesn't have to be. And I think
you're right. They overcompensated because there was a brawl's happening
and then they just were trying to like, we're gonna
stop this for once a brawl and it was like,
I thought that was over the top. I always was
bothered by David Stearns a dress policy.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
I thought that was over the top.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
It was like it just got too concerned with mainstream
and you know, a Broadway like corporate like.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
But it did make it when when I was started
out and they used to fly commercial and you're in
the general public, Yes you should wear a blaze, right,
you represent the team in the league.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
That I understand.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Taking an overnight flight on a private plane where you
don't even go through the airport. The bus dropped you
off right at the You're not going through TSA, You're
not doing any of that. There's no reason that I
need to wear dress up to get on an overnight
flight to the West coast and.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
This stadium and walking for my car in the tunnel,
and I gotta have a.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Yeah like that, I didn't understand. I thought that was.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
That was just fear that the kid was getting too
urban and getting to hip hop, getting too street and
David Stern with I think even that but.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
Even then I hear you on that part.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
But he even changed the basketball without consulting the player.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
They literally saying it was cutting my hands.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
And like Tim Duncan was complaining, and then they had
to go back. You remember that that was a disaster.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
They said it was too new that the little string
stitching was cutting their hands and stuff. Like anybody asking
change the ball, at least consult with us. We're the
ones dripping the ball to the world.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Are you not consulting with them? That's crazy? I would
if I'm the commission to bring in the best five piers.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
And here's two or three balls we're considering how some
new deals with Wilson, new deals are Spaulding, whoever it is,
What do you think?
Speaker 4 (12:46):
What do they need to fix? All right?
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven

Speaker 3 (13:03):
The h milk toast NBA we have been living in
over the last ten fifteen years or whatever it's been.
Where are you? And how about this? Some of the
best beefs you can remember? Can you talk about some
like remember? Oh yeah, some of the best beafs eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox Like that Rob Parker

Speaker 1 (14:28):
It is the Akaba Robin Kelvin on a worship Wednesday,
getting ready to get to your calls here in just
a second. For over forty years, tire Rack has been
helping customers find the right tires for how, what and
where they drive. Ship fast and free back by free
road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
Right?
Speaker 4 (15:00):
I would take a call.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
We're just both happy, Robin Eyes one times we agree
on things that the beef is back. The intensity the
playoff field, the toughness, the trash talking is all back.
It has been fun to see so far in this
playoff run. I know we're only a few games in,
but it's been feeling good. What about yourself? Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox? Where is the beef?
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Let's best back, Chad? And we know you're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Chad?
Speaker 1 (15:25):
How are we doing today?
Speaker 7 (15:26):
Fellas doing great?
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Are you enjoying the beef?
Speaker 7 (15:30):
Oh? I love it, man. I've never I've never met
a single person that when these guys are are swapping
jerseys with each other after a loss, you know that
it's not a feel good story. You like to see
people want to compete. I got to lead into that beef.
You know, God rest his soul. What would Kobe have
(15:51):
said to a teammate if they were out there swapping
jerseys playing patty right with the guy after they lost.
So my favorite beef growing up up with Kobe versus
Dwight Howard, you know, the iconic and calling him soft.
But I just go back to that that was the
time that NBA was the best, was when those guys
were competing, not playing buddy buddy with each other on
(16:13):
the other team.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
No doubt. Thanks for the argument, No argument.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Charlie and Indiana, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
What's up, Charlie? What's up?
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Gentlemen?
Speaker 6 (16:24):
Sometime you listener here? But I love the show.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
Well, we love Yeah, Lisia, listen, you love this show.
That's all that matters to. Yeah, I appreciate you.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Yeah, yeah, man, I've got that guy beat by a mile.
And I think you guys probably know where I'm going.
You know, the nineties was the greatest era of hip hop,
and it was the greatest era of basketball for me
because I'm old. But the Four Way Blood bats in
the East from the late eighties to the early two thousands, Pistons, Pacers, Knicks, Bulls.
Oh yeah, there was all the way across the board,
(16:54):
culminating in the in the brawl in two thousand and four,
two thousand and five with the Pacers. But I think
the New York guy correct.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
Yeah, I'm from New York, yep.
Speaker 6 (17:03):
Yeah, yeah, man. The nineteen nineties Pacers Nicks to David
pre Versus Oakley and Mason and even Reggie Miller was
a killer. People think that's that guy's a goofball. He
was an absolute.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
Killer top.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Without the competing, he was Charlie. He's one of my
top five favorite players of all time. I didn't say
the best. I said my five favorite. You know, just
growing up watching Reggie. We're probably around the same age
that was those formidable years. Man, watching those just going
at it all, you know, going at it with Spike
Lee eight points in eight seconds. Absolutely, man, you know
uncovered that game. I always tell you I was sitting there,
(17:40):
like what is going on?
Speaker 3 (17:41):
I sat on the base line and I saw Reggie
Muller pushed Downreg Anthony.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
Greg, I mean literally in front of me and the
rest didn't see it.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Hit the three push Greg Anthony hit the three out Knicks.
Gotta follow me knocks two free throws down. The whole
MSG is like, what just happened?
Speaker 4 (17:58):
Nobody knew what happened?
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Drew Home and Charleston, you're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
What's up, Jerome? That's why I never let you know.
Speaker 8 (18:08):
It was a punk. That's why he never won any dreams.
Speaker 7 (18:10):
And he's still punk. Hit me like that, I'll close
line you and show you to the hospital.
Speaker 8 (18:17):
And that caught for openly.
Speaker 7 (18:18):
And all of them they were dirty teams, just like
the Pistons.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
They were all dirty.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
Well, who would you like, Jerome? Did you like anybody?
Speaker 2 (18:29):
No?
Speaker 4 (18:30):
I like Jordan's. I liked this.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
I don't.
Speaker 7 (18:32):
You didn't have to play dirty.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
To beat you. She just kicked your aft. No, Jerome
got you. He just like ass kickers. Yes he dislikes it.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Yes, Andre in Massachusetts, the couple Fox Sports Radio, we
love we love that.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
Yeah, Dy, what up?
Speaker 6 (18:52):
What's going on?
Speaker 8 (18:53):
Thanks for taking the quote? Listen. I'm thrilled to see
this throwback mentality and other callers have said, back to
the nineties to the eighties, you know, where players actually
had animates for one another and wanted.
Speaker 7 (19:04):
To be the best president.
Speaker 8 (19:05):
The super team you know, aau mentality where we're gonna
get everybody you know together on a roster. You know,
they all play on Team USA. You know a lot
of them end up attending these powerhouse prep schools, i e. Montenvert,
and that's just the mentality they come up with. But
rob again back to the eighties. You know, Doctor j
and Larry Bird, two of our luminaries in the game.
Like there are some serious films. They did not like
(19:26):
each other, Magic and Larry as much as they were
responsible for bringing back the NBA. You know, that competition
was fierce, you know, and that's why they got Magic
got his five, Larry Bird got his three. So you know,
in terms of Somebody's series, I'm loving the new generation,
the young Bulls, I either Rockets coming up against you know,
those frizzled veterans you know that are still hanging on
(19:47):
the Warriors teaching them lessons. So it's good for NBA,
good for basketball. You know, we need more of it.
Enough of this load management taking games off, you know
because you have a you know, a sore thumb, you know,
or you know, no, no, no, get out there, grind
and earn your championships.
Speaker 7 (20:01):
It's great for everybody, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
Yep, thank you. And in Texas you're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
What's up? Try what's up?
Speaker 2 (20:11):
Yo?
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Yo?
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Hey man? Right on, man, I love it. Man.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Yes, there's nothing wrong with a little beef. I mean,
it's good to mix in chicken and pork once in
a while, but we like beef. Yeah, we don't need
a mouse in the palace. That was That was the
wildest thing to watch live.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Yeah. I was in outside of Detroit watching that live,
Like what.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Well, that was crazy because you're throwing a chair into
a into a stands dust pans.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
It got t Yeah. Hey boy, who you have on this? Okay?
You know what I mean? Like like like to me,
that was the crazy party.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
That was great. But I think everybody is. It's good
to see that. We all agree that it's good to
have it back. By the way, another home running for
the Dodgers. It's a little crazy Dodgers and uh to
run home run taskar her net is this series been wild?
Speaker 4 (21:00):
Man?
Speaker 1 (21:00):
So what's the score? Was two nothing Dodgers, then the
Cubs in the three run uh five to three? Now
yeah five three top of the fifth. Yeah, what you
got bo forgetting real quick.
Speaker 9 (21:11):
The most prolific trash socker in the NBA's history, in
my opinion, is Kevin Garnett.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (21:15):
Yeah, I'm not going to repeat what he said, but I.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Want to do that because we're trying to hold on
to this radio show.
Speaker 9 (21:21):
Yeah he uh what he said to Charlie Villanowava.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
If you guys, I remember Charlie wanted.
Speaker 9 (21:27):
One of the most insane things I think I've ever
heard KG say. Also me and my friends back, you
know almost what was that fifteen years ago? Now, I
thought it was hilarious that he would say that on
basketball court. So, yeah, Kevin Garnett versus everybody would.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Be Kevin my guardnet current today. Even doing podcast the
other day. He did a pot when the playoffs first started,
and he's like, just I was on some different energyp
I swear lord, you know, I said Lord, Lord, I
swear man I and Paul Pierce is slipping.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
On his drink, like you know, Paul is completely removed.
He was like, I'm just at oh.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
I'm I don't want to go out there play He
was like, playoffs, baby, I feel different. I had an
attitude coming in. I'm like KG relax, relaxes. I can't
turn it off. Lord, all right, KG, you gotta take
it easy. Yeah, it's funny for a guy who teams
some aren't hot on. Oh you know, he's just he's
(22:19):
just not that good. He's a or a team at
some time.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
Wait what your gut you cause you gotta feel like
he is dropping. He is probably keep bringing up twenty one.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
But we also know, man, the posturing, right, I'm gonna
tell I might ill it takes just one.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
But but but really that you wouldn't even be hearing
like like and I'm not saying like like he was
gonna be number one, but the idea that once he
announced that he was, you know, going to that, that
he wouldn't be a top five pick.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Here's why.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
I hear something the Giants need a quarterback and then
they're not going to draft him. So right, right, the
Giants or the hot you know, like you all, we
got got a chance to get Dion Sander's son.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
What if I do This is how this stuff works, Ron,
What if we get a crazy call and somebody says, hey, man,
I need a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
You know I don't, I'm lowering the draft.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Give me Russell, I make a trade, and now that
you know, you're like, oh, shoot, now we need a
quarterback because we didn't trade the rust or h Maybe
there's a team that just says screw it and pulls
the trigger a little ahead.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
I mean, your gut tell you, because my gut is
not feeling good about this. There's too much talk about
twenty one or do you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (23:30):
New Orleans looks interesting and then went out of the
way and then they go to clarify, like where.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Or like yeah, like they're like, yeah, we're still open.
We're trying to figure this thing out. We're gonna take
you know, we're gonna do whats best for we believe
for the organization. New Orleans is interesting. Derek Carr injured
and all that. So New Orleans is an interesting one,
by the way.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
I mean Carolina with Bryce Young are they back? Is
he the guy now? Moving forward? He came out, had
a really you know, solid second half for him. But no, no,
I'm draft you think you think they're just saying you
never know.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Man, the Jets sitting there, Man, justin Fields, justin Fields.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
E't stop it, bro, don't be laughing at me right now.
Speaker 9 (24:14):
Bo Can, I can I throw a team out, Yeah,
see you guys, And I think, uh, if he's there
at twenty six, I think the Los Angeles Rams would
have to think long and hard about.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Okay, he's down there. I totally agree with that, because
Stafford is going to be this year. May be because
they didn't want to really sign them. They they told
him to go go look at all the offers.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
When you start doing that apps, right, that's like they're
not really yet would be totally wise for them too.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
I mean just having a guy that you can, you know,
whether it be in the year two years, sit up
under Matthew Stafford, sit up under that offense, Sean McVay,
get acclimated. He's in LA, He's gonna have big time
personality star bars. That makes sense to But yeah, it's
it's crazy to think at one point in time he
was a top three pickw people are telling me, you know,
you can dropped down as we just said twenty six.
(25:04):
I don't know if he's even the first round pick.
It's just crazy, which is why I'm like it's somebody
over selling it, because it only takes one team to
be like, yeah, we well we surely don't want him.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
We're yeah, we don't want him.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
I just think if he was that and a bag
of chips, you wouldn't hear that.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Okay, but we are got Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
Oh he's this, and then he just like out the
blue drops like we hear, guys are absolutely going in.
They drop, guys are dropping and they go higher. J. J.
McCarthy going tent What what.
Speaker 9 (25:34):
Do you you remember when Will Levis there was buzz
for him to go first overall?
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Yeah, I couldn't remember that a draft and it was
like because they had seen some was it the not
was it pro Day or whatever it was?
Speaker 4 (25:46):
The people were going crazy. They work out all that.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Then he had the commercials and Mayo mayonnaise because he
puts mayonnaise in his coffee or something crazy. Yeah, you're
talking about the fastest move on every My gosh.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
They moved. They we realized that he's not that.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Good, and I give him credit for not trying to
have pride and be like no, no, no, no, he just
had a rough sea.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
He's gonna start up, man.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
That man was throw He had a lot of completions
to the other team, yes, and he scored a lot
of points for the other team. I mean, boy, have
you ever seen a quarterback throw so many classes on
his knees?
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Like, yeah, no, the other team's sprun. He was.
Speaker 9 (26:25):
He was the reason the uh the Titans loss of
the Bears in week one, like it was directly on him.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Yeah, yeah, seriously. So it'll be interesting.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
And that's why everybody's posturing with twenty four hours away
or so actually little less than twenty four now before
we get to find out what's it gonna be? And
this Cubs Dodgers games crazy five to five?
Speaker 4 (26:44):
I believe every time we turn around, somebody's scoring.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Yeah, and they still got a couple of ring got
second and third right now, who knows what else to do?
Speaker 4 (26:50):
All right, one's gotta go. That is next.
Speaker 1 (26:52):

You can just eventually might be taking out, tiring and
putting in. Never mind there's some other would you stop,
I'm gonna stay out of there. Yeah I hit it
was fun? Oh yes, come on, all right on this
edition the one got to go.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
I try.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
I try to keep it tied into something that's going on.
I see Shay over there. Shay, you might want to
jump in this as well, so I try to keep it.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Now.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
My concern is you rob but maybe you'll surprise me.
Maybe one's one of your dates. You know, maybe you've
seen a handful of these. So Ryan Coogler, renowned director,
young brother from the Bay, he and Michael B.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Jordan are connected.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
All of his movies that he's ever directed, all five
have had Michael B. Jordan's it. So Michael B. Jordan,
by the way, but CAI not about to put that
be not Michael Jordan, otherwise nobody would know who he was.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
That's true. They like dang.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
I knew he could, I knew Space jamesls. I know
he's acting like that. So here we go. Here are
the five movies that Ryan Coogler has directed.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
Michael B.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Jordan has obviously been in the mall, and I want
you to tell me one's got to go. Now, if
you haven't seen one or something, then pick from the
ones you have. I don't expect necessarily everyone to see
have seen off five.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Now, look at the cup here. We have not seen
Michael B. Jordan's five movies. Let's just be honest. I
don't know what none of us.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Alex has all of it. I've seen four of the
following one. I haven't seen one. With the Sinners that
came out this week has weekends is easy go ahead,
here we go. So obviously we'll work from current to backwards. Sinners,
which her was everybody squears by. I haven't had a
chance to see it yet. Rotten Tomatoes has it at
(29:47):
ninety eight percent. So you know what's good. What kind
of Forever came out a few years back. Black Panther.
First of all, this is an amazing five run for
a director Creed and then Fruit Veil Station. Incredible movie, Manza,
you gotta see that, and you might.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
You go might cry seen it.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Yeah, you're gonna cry. It was his first one. His
teacher at USC was like, you really got the eye.
You're really gonna be good at this, and he put
his all into this film.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
Twenty thirteen.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
It's about Oscar Grant who was killed up in the
Bay Area by police while literally like for nothing. He's
laying on the ground and they just shot him middle
in front of New Year's Eve, in front of everybody.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Look it up. It's a great movie, sad story, all right.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
So there are you're fine, Fruit Veil Station, Cree, Black Panther, Wikinda, Forever, Sinners,
which again, if you haven't seen them all, just pick
from the ones that you've seen that one's gotta go, uh, Rob,
because it's easy.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
I'm ignoring you right now. Uh, it's easy.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Go ahead, start with I'm gonna start with alex one
has gotta go. My friend, you're not gonna like me
for this, not at know. You don't know what I'm
gonna say. One's gotta go.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
I will say, without spoiling, I went into Sinners completely dry.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
Okay, no idea? What it was about? Yep?
Speaker 5 (30:56):
Nine point five? Man, I don't rate movies higher than
an eight point five to nine.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (31:01):
Why the tie ins, the subtle messaging, the playout and
also the ending sequences.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah, that's what everybody. I haven't heard anyone. Only a
couple of people have said, Oh it's good. I maybe
I missed the meaning or something, but everybody else is
like fantastic all right? So wait, which one is out?
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Black Panther? Wow? Wow?
Speaker 5 (31:19):
I knew you're gonna hate me for this.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
You like too better?
Speaker 7 (31:26):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (31:27):
The reason why I already don't like Marvel movies or
any superhero movies. I haven't even watched any of those
ones with thor or what's it again, the finger? Oh yes,
I haven't seen any of them. I'm not forcing a
Black Panther because of a group things. I said, fine,
we'll go watch it. I think it's just my malice
because I had like such a strong stand. I need
(31:49):
to watch it again. But the second one, I sat
down by myself loved it. Ty Ins fill Ins show ups.
I loved it all. It's just again, I think I'm
just biased.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
Okay, all right, bo.
Speaker 9 (31:59):
I, Wakanda Forever. Second Black Panther movie, that's gotta go.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Yeah, even with the way they did, they did their
best trying to pay tribute to.
Speaker 9 (32:06):
Him, and Fruitvale Station is one of the best movies
ever made. Yeah, told you, Centers is up there. Black
Panther was a huge cultural moment, and Freed was way
better than anybody existed.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Boat Man, you're on it all right, Manzi, just for
the ones you've seen.
Speaker 5 (32:20):
Literally what both said, I mean, I think it's Wakanda
Forever for me.
Speaker 7 (32:23):
I have not seen.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
Sinners, got to see fruit Veil, and I haven't seen
Fruitvale so obviously.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
And I'm not gonna say Black Panther, but Wakanda Forever
because I enjoyed Creed.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
But you know, everything both said I think was right
on the money. Yeah, Uh, mister Parker, it's easy. Tell
me you've seen any of these.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Creed really wait, only because the boxing movies like that.
We've seen a million of them, faint like I've seen
like and it's not boxing is dramatic. It's one on
one all that kind of stuff. But I've seen that movie.
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I'm exact answer is bo Wakanda Forever. But for all
of the reasons he said fru Vale Station, I was stuck.
I was literally stuck in my seat, shedding tears, just
wanting to go back in time and save him. And
h Creek caught me by surprise. Wow, this is actually
really good. And Black Panther was, like you said, cultural phenomenal, Alex,
you said, no, Black Panther. I'm just saying, just saying,
that's not cool. If it was Panther, you probably would
(33:21):
have picked three times by now, Okay, if it
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Was Latina Panther, he'd be all I'd get married to it.
