percent more on your car insurance. Visit Geico dot com

keeps coming. I mean, you want to put Tom Brady aside.
You want to say they didn't make the playoffs. We
(01:08):
can talk about Pat Mahomes and Lamar Jackson and the
new coaching hires, but the news just keeps coming. Tom
Brady TV twelve, like he has so many times in
the playoffs, keeps delivering, and we will get all into that.
You know, Rod Parker's got something to say about it.
(01:29):
And speaking of Rob Parker, what's up? Lois happen to
mister Chris Broussard, how are you? I am great man, man,
all is great, good, good good? You ready for this?
I'm ready. We got a great show. We got so
much stuff. We've got some good guests. Speaking of Tom Brady,
We've got a guy that won two Super Bowls with
Tom Brady, Christian Fourier, coming up at the bottom of
(01:53):
the hour. In less than twenty seven minutes, he will
join us. He's a w e I and Boston Rady.
You know, I mix it up with them all the time.
Last year, you remember I was in Super Bowl. I
was on their shoes. Yes, and I'm sure you're gonna
mix it up with him in just a few moments.
I get locked for the next three hours right here
on Fix Sports Radio, iHeart Radio app or Serious XM
(02:17):
Channel eighty three. However you're listening, all right, Let's welcome
into our couple of crew, because we wouldn't be able
to do this fine radio program without him. Rob g
is our producer as always, Alex our engineer. David Gascon's
at the anchor desk. He'll keep us updated throughout the program,
and of course, Elijah is our social media guru, one
(02:39):
of the best in the business. They're all on the
other side of the glass. Christmassard, come on on this
worship Wednesday, let's kick some heinie A saying let's kick
doesn't sound right. I just feel dirt. That's good. You
know what, we all go to church together this year? Yes? Yes, indeed?
Do I have to put money in the plate? Or no? Yes?
(03:01):
All that money? You have to put as much money
in the collection plate as you put in their little
holsters or whatever they wear and those places you go.
So you mean to tell me like, I'm gonna have
to bring a brick struck to the church? I mean,
and can I throw it up? I'm gonna throw at
the knee up. I'm gonna throw all singles? Now, do
I throw it at the minister? Five? I'm I'm gonna
(03:24):
making me taking any anything in the church. I'm gonna
throw it at the minister. Yo. All right, I'm gonna say,
come on, you're getting out of my cheese? Was crazy? Crazy?
Or all right? Tom Brady? He went on Instagram today
and and and let it all hang out. He got emotional,
(03:46):
he let his feelings loose. He was transparent. A couple
of times. He didn't use an apostrophe for don't. But
I'm not gonna hold that against him. He was, he
was in his feelings. Doesn't relate to you for once.
All right, all right, rob Ge, tell us what Tom
Brady said. Am I right about the appost I give
us to us in a nutshell? Well, Rob, you are
right number one, number two. It was like three and
(04:08):
a half pages on this post. It was long. He
thanked the fans, you know, thanked everybody, even quoted Teddy Roosevelt.
I don't know what had to do with anything, but
here's the closing set that matters. Beat up on your
Raiders year after year after he did it. One time
he cheated and they and they cheated. The most important
that first super Bowl came from that bad call, that
(04:31):
that that went against the Raiders. Okay, all right, go ahead.
Well you know Chris, me and Alex are both on
team Rob. Now, yes, Alex, Yeah, Alex doesn't even talk
to him. He passed me in the hall and just
before the show, it didn't even look at me. No,
he was he was about me, and he was afraid
that you want to step on his Jordans, so he
stayed away. All right, So once tom Brady got out
(04:52):
of his feelings. He closed it with this definitive statement
about his future. Oh God, you don't always win. You can't. However,
learn from that failure. Pick yourself with great enthusiasm and
place yourself in the arena again. And that's right where
you will find me, because I know I still have
more to prove. He's coming back America. That's right, and
he should come back and play football. What's wrong with that?
(05:16):
He still can play it. He still can play it.
Rob tom Brady couldn't do that. Can he can? Tom
Brady is doing NFL America a disservice. This is nothing
more than a money grab for Tom Brady. This ain't
about football. He feels jilty because he didn't get the
(05:36):
contract that Drew Brees got in retirement age. Tom Brady
wants to get paid all of a sudden, and he'll
leave the Patriots or try to strong arm them. They're
not gonna give a broken down, forty three year old quarterback,
uh money. Tom Brady has some nerve. He wants a paycheck,
he wants a Social Security check, and he wants his
(05:58):
pension all at the same Tom. No, Tom Brady, this
is a selfish move by Tom Brady. All these years
he was supposedly I'm all about the team, it ain't
about money. I'll do whatever it takes to win. Now,
all of a sudden, when you're beaten down and you're
broken up and you can't perform your last two playoff games,
(06:21):
you've thrown a total of zero touchdowns. You right, you've
played horribly, and now we even have your highlights. We
know what it is. We're s throwing ten years by
Tom Brady. You got nerved to want more money now
at the ripe old age of forty three going on
sixty seven, I ain't paying How damn you, Tom Brady?
(06:43):
And then go on on Instagram and try to make
it like, oh I'm so hip, I'm with the kids.
I got so much more to prove. You got nothing
to prove. You're just like every other selfish athlete that
can't stay out of the limelight, that can't walk away
with dignity. You wanna be Willie Made, You wanna be
(07:05):
Muhammad Ali, You wanna be Michael Jordan's all at the end,
what let me stop back? You just go say you
go somewhere you he wants to be Muhammad Ali, it
didn't end pretty, frilly. He wants to be really mazed
it didn't end pretty for him. Is that what you say? Nus?
(07:25):
He wants to go out badly like that. That's what
he wants. Because he's athletes. You have to save them
from them. That corny going again, I won't call it corny,
but it's house corny under Rhab's take. Oh it doesn't.
That's that's gonna be a YouTube sensation. It's just a
matter of time. Gets it up. Yeah, all right, but anyway, selfish? Yes,
(07:48):
how is he being selfish? He enjoys playing football, And
yeah he's not the time Brady was in two thousand
and seven, even two thousand and fourteen, but he still
led the pay trips to twelve wins and the playoffs.
This is not a man on his last leg. This
was not Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl, his last
(08:10):
super Bowl. This is a guy whose numbers we need.
I remind you, Rod Parker are not that much worse
than your boy Aaron Rogers, only three years old. Stop it,
and you know the only teams they beat were bad
worse they're bad that I'm not gonna you gonna let
(08:34):
me allow whatever I want to because I say Trump out,
don't talk about Roger, talk about Tom Brady. You don't
want to talk about talk about Tom Brady's numbers. You
ain't talking right now. I let you talking. I sat
still with your music. Now let me talk. The numbers
are similar, That's what I'm saying. So don't tell me
(08:56):
he can't play. If you want to say it's not
as good as he used to be, that's fine. He
can still play, obviously, And if there won twelve games
against bad teams, so be it. There's twelve bad teams
in the league. Keep making the playoffs. To call him
selfish with all the pay cuts he's taken, you know
(09:19):
he's right. No, I don't know he's right because you
were taking it then and now all of a sudden
you need to get paid. Your wife's still making a
gazillion dollars as a supermodel. What's changed? What's changes now
that Tom's got his pennies in a bunch because he
realized how Dumby was all these years by not getting
his value. Now all of a sud was he was
(09:41):
done because I never got Supermo, they never gave him
to play. Any other person were as many as any franchise.
He's got six for White's dumb White. He's still rich
Somean Brady was not just because of his wife. He's
he's rich on his own marriage. Why would you talking
about to take less than your more I could value?
It makes no sense. And then say because he wanted
(10:03):
to win, because they didn't get get any players. They
didn't get any players. They didn't use them money to
go get players. Right at the whole point, they got
enough players to win super Bowls. Now, he told me
he didn't have any help with this year. This year.
They had extra money years. Why not? Why didn't they
spend it? Well, they need to spend it next year
if they want to keep him tready made the ultimate.
(10:25):
You never devalue yourself, really get what you deale he did.
He never got paid like a star quarterback ever. Okay, okay, fine,
but he's got six super Bowls. He's widely universally known
as the greatest of all time. He's rich beyond his
(10:46):
wildest dreams. What what did he miss out on? Rod Parker?
What had it been better to make thirty million one
year and have four super Bowls? What do you want?
He's got six you're not making six. I'm making sense.
And that didn't say why now? Why now? Chris? Just
give me? Why does he need more money now? He
(11:07):
don't need more Why does he want more money now?
Because it's his parade already worked. He told me it
worked for six super Bow. Why would you change I'm
gonna use that that worked for you. You just said
it worked. It didn't work, so why you want to
change it. I'm gonna use the prayer don't even make sense.
I'm gonna use the prime example. Lebron James when he
first went to Miami was willing to take less than
(11:28):
the max, all right, and that one, and then he
decided when he left Miami, from now on, I'm getting
the max. It's a change of heart that these superstar
after after you have every right to do, Chris, after
twenty years, I didn't play for twenty years. Twenty years,
(11:49):
you're changing. Come on, man, I'm not buying that. This
is a selfish money grab bym by Tom Brady money.
How much money can't even count. Everybody needs money when
you're getting the paycheck. Nobodybody that's knock. That's not true. Everybody.
Whenever you're getting paid by somebody you are, You're still
a worker. No j Brady wants might need money. False.
(12:11):
Brady is a super guy. He doesn't wants to just
get paid. Shame on your boat is in full effect,
hating for no reason. You got the nerve. This dude
is taking pay cut after pay cut, and you're gonna
call himselfish. He's dumb. He's dumb. He was dumb. Food
takes a pay cut. Get what you want, what you
should have been your value because you want six super
(12:33):
Bowls just because nobody's done that, Just because you can't
be happy unless you're making the every last penny you
can make, doesn't mean everybody else functions that way. Robert,
I told you we don't function that. When the contract
negotiation fraction of what time Brady makes, I told him,
I said, I want the same contract that Chris Boussard
makes plus one penny because I want to be the
(12:55):
highest paper start comparing. See that's you all right? Here
we go Who eight seven seven ninety nine On Fox
eight seven seven nine ninety six sixty three sixty nine,
Rob Parker is Tom Brady being selfish for wanting to
(13:16):
play another year in the NFL. I can't even believe
we're asking this question. But Rob Parker came in with
a hot microwave take, and this is where we go
the conversation with you. Next, It's The Odd Couple Fox
Sports Radio. I gotta buy Alex from Jordan's because you
know this is getting ridiculous every over these little drops
(13:40):
you're putting his music card. Parker me, come on, I'm
loving that. I'm not calling him DJ Alex. Tishan him
where he's Alex Well Alex, He's Alex le Vegan from
Welcome to twenty twenty and this is my house. I
think I'm moving to Mexico. Be sure to catch live
editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Bruce Sorry then
(14:00):
Rob Parker week days at seven pm Eastern four pm
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio I It's
The Eye Couple Chris Bruce Hard and Rob Parker on
a worship Wednesday. We got great news, Or says a
quick and easy way you can save money. Switch to Geico.
It only takes fifteen minutes to see if you can
(14:20):
say fifteen percent of the more on your car insurance.
Go to Geico dot com and see how much you
could save. All right, let me say this quickly before
we get to the cause. Rob Parker was in he
was so delusion. There we go in his first segments.
All you that might want to agree with him, listen
to this. This is proof he was delusional. He looked Elijah, Elijah,
(14:43):
our famous social media guru. He looked him in the
eye and said, Isaiah, our favorite solial media You called
him Isaiah, Elijah, Elijah say your name every day, don't
I yeah, I would called you Isaiah, yes to know that.
(15:06):
But I was just I was worked out. Your delusional
that was worked up, and I was like going at it,
and I just like it just sometime to happen, So
you shouldn't take anything. He's no, that ain't eniously all right,
when you get my age, my birthday's on Friday. It
happened sometimes. I apologize it happened sometimes, all right. Uh, Elijah,
(15:27):
I'm sorry on the worship Wednesday. You should repent for
that time. All right, Let's get to the call A
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. What do you think
is Brady being selfish? Let's start with Austin in Washington. Austin,
you're on with Chris and Rob. Hey, what's up, guys?
You thank you for putting me through. I've called in
(15:47):
half dozen times and I never get the both of
you together. So this is awesome. Wow, here we go.
I know Chris is always off, you know. So here's
the thing is, Rob is right, he is under right,
but hear me out what you're saying, Rob Is, that'solutely crazy.
The money thing has nothing to do with it. Tom
Brady is selfish because this guy's got a family. He's
(16:09):
got a wife who has already explained that she would
love for him to retire. Dude, you've won six Super Bowls,
You've accomplished anything and everything and are widely considered as
the goal at the position. Retire, Go be with your family,
get out of the league. The money grab is nothing
more than another little mind trip loyalty test to Robert Kraft,
(16:31):
just like the Jimmy Garoppolo thing. So just retire, get
out of there. Man. Look, he I'm with you should
where you could be, right, Rob Is he may feel like, look,
they've disrespected me all these years. Pay me. I'm tired
years just thinking. I don't think that's being selfish. But
(16:51):
money thing is, you went, you went, with it for
twenty years, and now all of a sudden, you're trying
to flip the script. You want a teammate guy. You
are about trying to win, do whatever I could do
for the organization. But you should have never been there,
would you say at this point? And granted a few
years ago there was all the stories about the turmoil,
but this point, more than any other, it really seems
(17:14):
like they're kind of kicking you out the door. I thought,
this is what happened. All I've done for this franchise,
taking the pay cuts, and now they want to kick
me out at forty three next year, Chris, that's what happens.
Clifford and Maine, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. So look, I'm a wife Tom's lifelong Patriots fan.
(17:35):
I live in Maine. I grew up a Patriots fan.
This is the least talented offense he's ever had. Tom
Brady's no idiot. I mean he's forty three years old,
he knows that he's not Magrick Mahomes, and he's well underpaid.
And I don't think it's a money thing anyway. I mean,
this guy's got money. Like you said, this is about
tom Brady wanting to be the best of all time,
just like Jared Rice playing for twenty years. They just
(17:57):
those guys are hardwired. But Clifford, that was a point
Jerry Rice. Now Here's the problem I have is if
you're talking about go get me help, paying Tom Brady
more money isn't helping you go out to get him help.
Why is he asking for more money rather than I
just need more players? What do I need to do?
(18:20):
That doesn't It doesn't go together, Clifford. You compare it
him to pay You compare him to uh, Drew Brees.
Look at what Drew Brees has around him. That's a
significantly better offense. Nobody got a big three year deal.
They but how much did he get? Chris three years?
Ninety three years they gave. They gave Tom Brady essentially
a one year contract with a little bit of raise,
(18:42):
and then the last two years weren't even guaranteed. They
didn't even do anything for him though. The only three
empty attempt they made to get a person was Damarius
Thomas Antonio Brown was an afterthought. He got caught by
the by the Pokland Raiders and then they picked him up.
They literally did nothing to help him except for drafting,
and in my opinion, the worst wide receiver of the draft. Really,
(19:03):
he gat that calf is a freak. He's an athletic
freak with nine hundred yards Deebo Samuel has gone over
nine hundred yards. Like I don't know of his college career,
but I can tell you this as far as production,
he's the least productive guy. And then they sent Trent
went to space there the left tackle, the big left
tackle they had last year. They sent him away knowing
that Isaiah Wyn wasn't going to be capable of going
(19:24):
this year. They did nothing to help him. They did
everything to hurt him. And I'm sorry, but if you're
in a position where your team's like, we know you're
forty three, you've won six Super Bowls, but we're still
not going to give you any help, of course you're
gonna ask for more money. Jee Brees correction, it wasn't
three years ninety million. It was the last four years
and fifty okay, which isn't that much. Morton Brady, No,
(19:46):
but it was the twenty three and a half. But
it was all guaranteed and he was Coady nine. That's
a good deal. For him. Let's go to to Dwayne
and Little Rock. You're on with the eye couple. Sorry fellers,
how you're doing it? Either, we're doing great? How are you?
I'm doing pretty good? Pretty good? Chris, And I don't
know how you put up with Rob and his hayding
on these Patriots. Rob, I'm gonna have to use your
(20:06):
praise on you. You make me throw up in my
mouth so much. I'm glad you see through it. Dwayne,
right right, and Rob, it's just simple as this is.
This is a true reason why Brady asking for more money.
If you're not gonna get him no help with the
money he's leaving on the table, then just give it
(20:26):
to me. If you're not gonna give me no help,
then just give me my money. But Dwayne taking a
hometown discount. If you're not gonna give me no help.
But here's money issue. How are you going to get
more players to stay and play the Patriots? If you're
asking for more loot? It doesn't go together. It's not
gonna happen. Well, maybe it may be in negotiations if
they say, look, we're gonna go get you this and
(20:46):
that he'll take less much. Dwayne. Thanks for the call.
What about Jeff in New York? You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. Hey, what's up guys? How
are you doing right? Man? Hey? So, Rob, I gotta
ask because I feel like you got conflicting opinions here.
So was Brady dumb his whole career? If for not
taking the money? Or is he or should he have
(21:07):
been greedy the whole time? He should have gotten he
should have gotten his value? Yes? Would that be better?
He was dumb? Ring? No, But you don't know that,
Chris and the program, we don't. But but he but
but here's the problem, Jeff, he's got six eight Why
are you hating on him now for buying the money? Though?
Like if you because he should have taken his money
his whole career, because now he's saying, now, why are
you asking for it now? When you did this for
(21:28):
twenty You went along for twenty years, and your argument
is that you don't have enough talent, So now you
getting more money won't allow him to go get you talent.
So it's a contradiction by Tom Brady, Do you want
more talent or do you want more money? He did
the right thing during his career then he wasn't dumb.
He got he got the rings. He still was getting
(21:51):
paid somewhat right, he got plenty of money. Hey, and
you know, all right, thanks for the call to Isaiah
in Balls. I was talking about Isaiah when I mentioned him,
Isaiah and Baltimore. What's happening? Hey you guys, Um, happy
holidays and um have a great New Year to everybody.
So I just want to say this, um So, Rob,
(22:11):
a couple of weeks ago, you said Elias Tree every
stter than Drew Brees because he has two rings. Now
Brady has six. So what is I'm just confused, Like
what do you want from him? I'm not confused, like
I just wanted to. Okay, So look now, I personally,
for one, I'm not a Brady fan at all, like
(22:34):
I grew up. I'm a diehard Raisings fan everything like that.
I was laughing when they lost. But I will say this,
it is a problem to me to have your six
time winning Super World quarterback out there with an offense.
And I've been and I've been going through Joe Blackle
offensive before Lamar got here the past couple of years
was consistently of checkdown. I probably would take that over
(22:54):
the Patriots offensive this year, and some of it is
on Brady. Yeah he's on the condecline, but I don't
think it's anything wrong upon his um last leg saying Okay,
you know I get one contract after twenty years. I'm
not asking for one man, No I do. When you
need talent, you can't. You can't be asking for talent,
but you want more money. That means they won't have
less money to get you the talent that you're talking
(23:15):
about you need. So that doesn't to me, that doesn't
make any sense. And I want to say one thing
to you. You had the nerve me to you, Chris Wissard,
the nerve, the audacity because I miss I made a
mistake with Elijah and I called the Isaiah during the
rad that's like me calling you Chuck. No. I want
to know why. But this is the same guy every
(23:35):
day blew Rolph Urban's name yesterday, the update guy every
day day. You blamed it on Rob Ge that he
wrote it roll. You have some nerve and it's a
guy that you love with who you're who you're throwing
to Part I was he's an order one God. There's
no Liija there's not even the ordair person there is
(23:56):
right compared there is. You have some called me out
on that. Elijah is two feet away from you every
single day Room is on the air, and you can't
get his name right. We get Ralph about three days
a week, stopping Rob probably crash weaker. My goodness, he's
falling apart America. He's falling apart. Tom Brady coming back
(24:21):
in two twenty. But will it be with the Patriots.
One of his former teammates, Christin Fourier, has the answer,
won two Super Bowls with Tom. Who'll have the answer next?
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Fox Sports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app.
(24:42):
Search f SR to listen live. All right, it's the
Eye Couple coming you live from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio studios. It's easy to say fifteen percent of more
on your car inshorts with Geico. Go to Geico dot
com or call eight hundred nine four seven auto. The
only hard part figuring out which way is it is easier.
Our next guest, you couldn't ask for a better guest
(25:03):
on a day like this when tom Brady goes all
emotional on Instagram. He won two Super Bowl Championships with
Tom Brady. Now he's a w EEI radio host in Boston.
Our man, Christian Faier, what's up man? What's up? Christian? Oh?
I knew, I knew this call was coming. Rob had
(25:27):
been he had been poking me, he had been chirping
a little bit, sending me late night text messages with
his rants about them about Tom Brady. So let's finally
have at it. Let's finally get it out in the open.
I want to hear I want to hear Rob completely ripped,
the greatest football player ever to walk the planet. And
I want him to just do it and end it
(25:48):
so we can move on from it. This is so
typical of tom Brady, so selfish. Of course, he wants
to play. You know, he's finished, he's washed up, He's
gonna go elsewhere. The question this is just about a
money grab, tom Brady. Now I want to get my
full value. I'm gonna go somewhere with It'll give me
(26:09):
ninety million dollars and pay me my word. This is
what this is about. No, I think I think you're
you're close to it, but your imitation is terrible, terrible,
like that at all. I will say that I do
feel like there is a lot of I mean not
(26:29):
politic and posturing, like everyone's trying to control the narrative.
And I think there's I think there's gonna be three.
I think a craft is trying to create this narrative like, hey,
we want him to be here or retire. I hope
he makes the right decision, but you know what, Hey,
it's a business. And then there's Brady that that's that's
doing his own thing. Because this is why I think
(26:50):
this year is gonna be so fun, because he's finally
a free agent. Each side is politic, and each side
is trying to control the narrative. And if he doesn't
sign with the Pagriots rolls because they didn't pay him
enough money, they didn't value what he did or what
he can do. And and then the Patriots could say, well,
you know, he was greedy, you know, he wanted he
wanted to go do his own thing. He didn't value
(27:11):
everything that he had created here. So he has to
do that. He has to. All right, Christian, here, I'm
gonna give you the three main characters in this and
I want you to tell me if each whether or
not each one wants Brady back in New England. And
the characters are Tim does he want to be back
in New England? Kraft does he want him back with
(27:33):
the Patriots, And does Belichick wanting back with the Patriots.
So I'm gonna go Brady, yes, Kraft, Yes, Okay, definitely?
All right, um yeah, Now now the you know all
the you know, the things that go along with that,
we can discuss a later date. Bill. I think I
think Bill's a no. I think when I'm all said
and done, I think Bill's a no. And remember, listen,
(27:56):
they drafted Jimmy Garoppolo I don't know how many years ago,
and at the conference. One of the things that he
said I'm gonna paraphrase because I don't want to get
it wrong, is that you know Tom can't play forever. Well,
they had every intention, I think of moving on from Tom.
The timing got screwed up. Tom proved him wrong. They
had to move Jimmy Garoppolo. And you can see how
well Jimmy Garoppolo is playing. Bill was right, but Tom
(28:19):
screwed up their plans. He played well. They went to
three Super Bowls, they won two and now they're where
they're at now. So it's one thing, Okay, if you
got Jimmy Garoppolo, I get it, but Jared still him,
Like who's who's the replacement? Would they go after Teddy
Bridgewater or what I mean? There's a lot of options,
you know, there's um. I think the fact is that
(28:40):
if you guys follow the contract, if you just look
at the contract, look at the cap casualty with that
is that exists with Brady. And if you look at
what Brady has been how he's been treated over the
last I don't know a couple extensions that he's done.
They don't give him more money. They give him less money,
and they and they make it harder for him to
(29:01):
get those um um you know, those those guarantees because
every year he's been to the Super Bowl, ere he's
one or he's lost, and you would think he would
get a raised, right, he doesn't get a raised. They
give him less money. So why out of all the times,
of all the examples in the history of the Patriots,
of all the great players that have left, why would
(29:22):
they have suddenly decide that now that he's old and
he's had one of his worst years ever. And if
Robert's right, he should retire, why would they give him
a raise. They're not going to. They're not, and christ
I don't think they will. I don't either. And Tom
knows it. That's why he knows what's going on here.
And he's not the first former great quarterback who had
(29:42):
to finish elsewhere because this is just how this business works.
And you're right, it's about angling for the idea of
of who's going to get the blame, because they will
paint Tom Brady's great, greedy, He's not. We're not in
for for for the team. Do you know what I mean?
That's they're out? Is that Tom even say this, I
(30:04):
will even say this. I think Brady. I think Brady
holds the leverage because of the way the contract works
and the way his contract ends March seventeenth. If they
if they if they don't sign him, then they're gonna
have to take that thirteen point five million dollars hit
before March seventeenth. So if he doesn't sign before March seventeenth,
(30:24):
he's not signing at all, because why would they go
ahead and sign him after March eighth. March seventeen. But
they've already taken the cap hitch right. If he signs before,
they'll get some relief. But I will say this, Rob
and Chris. The other thing is that Brady can also
say let's say he wants to just say, let's say
he has to swallow his pride. Let's say he just
has to you know, screw it. My wife doesn't want
(30:46):
to live to LA. I don't want to move my kids.
It's too much for paying the butt. I gotta stay. Well,
he could, he could sell it where. Listen, I've taken um,
I take him. Uh you know, I've taken a decrease
of salary before. I've taken that hit before. Because one,
he's the most important thing to me. So he can
say face, he can look like the bigger person. Hey,
(31:07):
they promised they were going to bring players, and I
took less money so they would bring some new receivers,
some new lineman, some new backs. So either way, I
think he's protected. One way, Hey, listen, I did what
was best for the Patriots, the team I love. The
other ways, well, they gave me no choice, guys. They
low balled the hell out of me. I want six
Super Bowls. Christin Fariagg joining the I Couplewei radio host.
(31:31):
How much is it true? I mean, is some of
this Belichick wanting to show he can win with alt
Brady because thus to this point his record with alt
Brady is not very good. No, I don't. I mean, listen,
I mean, I don't think so that's been thrown around
a lot, like each side wants to win without the
other one. I think that's just silly. They may say
(31:52):
that after it's all said and done, there'll be a
lot of a lot of theories that go on. I
think the most important thing is that Bill it's just
not sentimental. He doesn't look at the past and say, oh,
you know, let's take a walk down memory lane. You
know what, I'll give you that extra five million for
everything that you've done. He doesn't work that way. I mean,
he just doesn't. And every time somebody brings us up.
(32:15):
I go through a list. There's so many players that
he could have overpaid and could have kept because he
was just loved them so much and he cherished everything.
They were hard workers, and they and they stayed in line,
and they were great leaders, and they made big plays.
He doesn't do it. He gets rid of guys a
year before rather than a year after. Christian Brady is
(32:38):
no different. No, you're right. Here's the last thing we got.
About thirty seconds. I'm saying Tom Brady winds up with
the Chargers in Los Angeles. They desperately need to sell
tickets for that new stadium that's opening next year. They
have a good defense. My dead body, Okay, over my
dead body basis, So where's he playing next year? You
(33:03):
know what, I'll take a long shot. I'll either say
I like for some reason, I like Vegas. I don't
know what it is. I like the system, I like Gruden,
I like this whatever, it's Vegas. But the real the
reality is is that I think when the posturing ends
and the game of Chicken ends, each side is going
to come to their senses and say we're better off
(33:26):
with each other. I agree, That's what I think. You
guys will both be wrong, because I'm telling you Tom
Brady's so mad about being all these years with the money,
He's going to walk out on them and make them
the bad guys because he realized he was taking a
hometown discount. They never got him players, and they could
(33:46):
have given him the Drew Brees contract that he got
it in an old age, at at an older age,
he didn't get that. Instead, they gave him a bogus contract. Yeah,
but yeah, I agree with you, But I don't know
if there will be a team out there that'll do it.
If the Chargers are so helping selling seats and licenses
and all that other stuff, they're gonna have to pay
him twenty five million a year. And if that's worth it,
(34:09):
if they get a return on investment from that, then fine,
go ahead. It'll suck, it'll be miserable, and he'll end
up coming back signing a one day contract with the Patriots,
and then they'll put the statue up. All right, you
heard it there. Christian faris two time Super Bowl champion
with Tom Brady, w EI radio host. Thanks a lot
for the knowledge, brothers. We appreciation knows he's the luckiest
(34:30):
of all time. But we don't have time, guys. Later,

All right, Rob Parker, I am going to paint the picture.
(35:16):
And then, as one of our good friends likes to say,
Skip Bayless, yes, I'm gonna let you unleash. Yes. Roy
Williams legendary coach from North Carolina. His team this year
is eight and six and they just got beat ninety
six to eighty three by Georgia Tech. They were down
(35:38):
nineteen to two to start the game. And on his
weekly radio show, Roy Williams Live on Monday, Williams went
off on his team. He said, we stunk. Okay, we
were not very good. The crazy thing about it is
our team, and we've had some very gifted teams. This
is not a very gifted team. It's just not And
(36:01):
then he said this, so if you're going to be
like that, meaning you're not a very gifted team. You
gotta bring your A game, even though your a game
may not even be in a game. You gotta bring
your best game to play on game day. How dare
Roy Williams put the kids and throw them under the bus? Chris?
(36:23):
First of all, it was you, Roy Williams who put
this team together. They didn't form the team by themselves
and you just gotta coach it. Didn't he go out
and recruit these guy player Cole Anthony is out with
That was my second thing. Cole Anthony is supposed to
leave like one of the best players in the country's
not playing. You're supposed to win at a high clip
(36:45):
when the best player Chris is out or will you struggle?
You'll struggle? Right the Malie struggling the main cog. It
is her struggling. Come on, this is so self serving
about him coach better. How about if he went on
there and said, I have to do a better job.
(37:06):
I didn't coach my guys right because we came out
of the box and we weren't ready to play. That's
on me. We're down nineteen to two because I didn't
have him ready to go. Instead of talking about oh
they're not. This is the most ungifted class that I've
ever had. Dude, that is so self serving till basically
he's taking the onus off of him and putting it
(37:27):
on the kids despite not having their best player. I
think that's weak by Roy william I'm with you. Look
and you know me, Rob, I think you know this.
I'm all for hard coaching. I've had coaches say stuff
to me, say stuff to our team, and that's coaching
to me, And even stuff like this, you guys are
(37:48):
at least give one whatever, But publicly, you don't need
to go there publicly, even if he may not believe it,
he needs to say what you said, put it on
yourself because your players will look at that and say,
we know we ain't playing well, right, and coaches taking
the bullets. He's taking the bullets. We gotta play harder
for that guy. But instead he's now Chris saying, oh,
(38:10):
don't look at me. That's not a good team. That's
that's what you know what I've done in the past. Right,
these guys you're not that good and you're right right,
And in a sense, you're being critical of yourself because
you're the one because yeah, if they're not that gifted,
that's your fault. You can now, it's not like you
gotta beg somebody to go to North Carolina to play
Mouth Carolina, North Carolina and team at North Carolina. You're right,
(38:36):
all right, I you know, like I said, I like
hard coaching. I'm fine with it. We disagreed on the
ISO thing last year. You know when I think he
grabbed the player or whatever got up and got his
own second championship. Oh no, no, wait a minute, no
it didn't. But this still waiting for another time later.
Contrary to what Rod Parker says, anybody can't win one.
(38:59):
Anybody can Anybody can't win anybody on one. There's a
lot of people who every damn Arino didn't win. Anybody
can win one. Of the stars are a low no, no,
especially not in the NCAA tournament. So so get off.
You know what, what's the difference between Tubby Smith and

We talked yesterday Rob M and this story is worthy
(41:30):
of addressing again. You know, but we talked yesterday about
the lack of African American coaches being hired in a
league that's seventy percent black, and it's disheartening to all
those guys who put in all the world, Chris, who
want an opportunity to run their own team. And uh,
and Marvin Lewis, who is UH an African American coach
(41:52):
obviously coach with the Cincinnati Bengals fifteen years, believe seven
playoffs and went owing seven in the play off. Yeah,
and uh people were interviewed by Jerry Jones. I doubt
they had any Look. I like Marvin Lewis. I think
he's a decent You got to give him some credit
for getting him to the playoffs, but obviously he couldn't
(42:14):
get him over the hump for whatever reason. If Jerry
Jones had hired him, he would have gotten destroyed. No,
there's no doubt about you know, that's just not the
sexy high. And it's not about because we've seen bad
white coaches getting opportunities, so that's not We're not here
ripping Marvin Lewis. Uh as somebody believed that. You know,
like maybe if they hired Bill O'Brien, you get killed.
(42:38):
You know what I'm saying, because he gets him to
the playoffs, but he hasn't had a lot of success.
I mean they did when the playoff came, but but
normally it hasn't been You and I said, we would
have fired him if they would have lost. I would
have not. And again I'd be like, look, you did
a good job. You got us to a certain level,
but we're trying to go hire. We got J. J. Watt,
we got we got a great receivers. Andre how He's like,
(43:01):
we need to be better. But anyway, Marvin Lewis was
on Golick and Wingo today on the other network, ESPN,
and he talked about the rule. Rob g summarize kind
of what he said about the ring. He was asked
specifically about not getting the Cowboys job, which he did
interview for, and his response was, quote, there's a lot
(43:21):
bigger problems than myself out there. You keep beating your
head up against the wall. But I would say, and again,
this is somebody's business, this is somebody's franchise. Nobody's going
to tell them who to hire. But if we can
just somehow open the process a bit more and provide
a little bit more opportunity, And basically saying you can't
tell them who they're gonna I totally disagree, and I
(43:45):
think Marvin Lewis, I know what he's saying. But we've
seen things change when people are willing to put up
a fight for it. We've seen the change, and we're
talking about and everyday life. Chris, there was a time
and I'm not trying to be this heavy. I'm just
telling you there was a time you couldn't get served
(44:05):
at the wool worst counter to eat. And every day
the people would show up and sit down at the
counter day after even though they said we're not serving
you right. Every day until what they would have dogs
on the water, throw stuff at them, spit on them.
Everything you can make. Change the players right now, Chris
(44:28):
can change this. It ain't that hard. I'm sorry if
you talk and I'm not. I'm just saying the Cowboys
because that was a job he talked about. If you
really believe that the Dallas Cowboys won't give people of
color and equal opportunity, then that's not an organization I'm
(44:49):
gonna sign with as a free agent or I want
to play for. Or when it comes to draft time, Hello,
don't draft me Dallas Cowboys. I won't play there. You've
seen guys do it all the time, Chris, haven't we
Eli Manning did it. I'm not going to San Diego.
Don't draft me. You could do it. Uh was it,
(45:11):
Jim Kelly? I was thinking, uh know, who else it
was another quarter? Oh no, uh Elway, John Elway, Right,
I'm gonna go play for the Yankees. I'm not going
because it was baltimorean Vancouver, Okay. And this is what
I'm saying is I know what he's saying, that it's
their team and you can't tell people what to do.
(45:32):
But once there's a pattern where you where you say
there's no opportunities for for my people or people who
look like me, that's not an organization. We just saw
it down in Jacksonville, the perfect example. You know, we think,
both Chris and I play that the Players Association is
terrible and weak in the NFL. But they finally did something.
(45:54):
Chris and we saw it. What Tom Coflin was doing
was wrong. The meeting is at far o'clock, Chris, I
showed up at five minutes to five. You're late. I'm
fighting you five hundred dollars. I'm not late, right right.
He was doing all that taking money from people. The
union put a letter for not doing being a voluntary
and what the union they wrote a letter, right, and
(46:15):
they said what free agents, you you should consider not
signing with this team. And then what did you want
to do? Did they let Calklin retire, retire without without
and looking bad. No, they were like you're fired right now,
right now, because they also had to show the players
that they weren't with that, that that organization wasn't with Coughlin. Look,
(46:38):
I agree with a lot of what you said. Marvin
Lewis is right. He you know, this is these guys business,
and you can't necessarily tell them what to do. Um.
You don't want to quote a system where they have
to be six black head coach. You don't want something
like that. Um, it's just unfair. It's it's a shame
that people won't they won't judge you on the merits
(47:01):
of your resume and what you've done. And they're clearly
judging people by skin color. They can say all they
want that they're not they are. It's obvious. And here
to your point, Rob, I agree the players could do.
I just think African American athletes have a responsibility to
(47:21):
our people that they don't generally take up. They really don't,
almost individually here and there, but as a whole. And
you say, well, why, First of all, a lot of
whites may say, and I've heard white or black athletes
even say, nobody's asking the white athlete to do this
for the white community. Yeah, because we got entirely different history, right,
(47:43):
I mean, really, they don't have to fight for them people, right,
Come on, that's ridiculous, and we still are in different
situations now. These black athletes will play that card when
something goes against them individually, but when it's us as
a people, the masses of us are they're blacks, not
just you individually. For the most part, we just turned
(48:04):
a blind eye to it. I'm gonna give you three
athletes who changed sports, Chris, all of them African American,
and they changed it not just for blacks, but all athletes.
What Jackie Robinson when he what he did just to
get baseball and whatever to integrate it. Spencer Haywood who
went for the defen hardship that allowed underclassmen before you
(48:28):
remember you couldn't do it. He had to fight from
college and went to the Supreme Court right to get
it done. And Kurt Floyd, who now all the players
who are free agents. He gave up his career Chris,
to be able to fight baseball to become a free agent.
When they used to own your rights, your entire career,
(48:49):
and you couldn't go anywhere too the NBA. Do you
see what I'm saying, here's what I just sacrifice. I
don't think you need to. I don't. I would not
advocate players. I fell right now going against a particular
organization because they're all in it. They're all essentially saying
some of them have had a few black coaches, some
of them haven't had any lead. And to your point,
(49:11):
what the Players Association did because of what Tim Coflin
was doing, they could do it. They could say the players, look,
we need to take a stand. And again, you don't
want to quota. You don't want to say the Cleveland Browns,
your coach has to be black or anything like that.
You know what I want to Players could could say, look,
this is ridiculous. You can bring the data and it's
(49:35):
clear that it's racism going on, and you present that data,
say we're not playing or we're protesting in some way,
shape or form until this changes. There are black coaches,
assistant coaches who've paid their dues and who aren't getting
a chance, and they're white assistant coach And this is
(49:55):
nothing against Joe Judge and Matt Lafleoor and all these
young young guys and white coaches that are getting jobs.
They I'm not saying they're not qualified, and they may
be great coaches. What I'm saying, though, is there needs
to be fairness and African Americans need to get a shot.
What if what if I heard Nick Wright say this,
(50:16):
so I'm gonna give him credit, but he made a
good point. Can you imagine if the National Hockey League
if eighty percent of the coaches were black? I already said,
I've said that for years one. That's funny because because
you would say, wait a minute, all the players are
ninety five percent of players are white. How could it
be eighty percent of coaches be black. It would be
(50:37):
looked at as ridiculous. Okay, that's exactly what it would be.
So it's point is well taken because it would be
it wouldn't make any sense the way you look at
in the NFL. And here's the other thing, Chris, how
about if the union puts out a list and of
all the front office people who their scouts are, what
the what the numbers are? Yes, to give me a
(50:59):
gauge to set the and I go back from historical historically.
Now you know, now I'm life at this point in time,
right that that that that the that the Cowboys have
never had. And I know they have Will McClay, who
who's a very well respected uh executive in there. So
I know Will, okay, but I know he's in their
(51:19):
front office and I do know him. But I'm just
saying what you say, they've only had one African American
in their front office in the last thirty years or
some sort of number to give you. And then you say,
the Carolina Panthers have had fifteen African American uh, you know,
including a Hispanic coach, and then you give them i'm
(51:41):
a grade that they have a percentage and that they
are somewhere where there could be a future for you, Chris,
you know what I mean. And the other opportunities for
you where these other places. And that's what it comes around.
Just getting the athletes to do is stop complaining and
begging and use the power that you have, which is
(52:03):
your athletic ability, your fame, your wealth, your connections to
corporations in America. You have all that. African American athletes
are the most irreplaceable African Americans in the country. They are.
They're irreplaceable, and that's leverage. They could find as good
(52:26):
as we may do, they could find some people of
other races to do what we do. Oh yeah, you
can't find. I ain't seeing another Lebron James of another race.
You know, No, I got it. And that's leverage, Michael Jordans.
There is leverage, and you gotta know how to use it.
And you could talk about it. Chris and I we
(52:48):
applaud the football players of Missouri. What was going on
down there? There was racist stuff is going on a campus?
What they do, Chris? Real simple? They're on scholarship, right,
They got the parents of school. Right. Imagine you got
kicked out of school. What would you go tell your
parents you had a football scholarship to Missouri. You got
kicked out because you were standing up for a principle, right, right?
(53:12):
And what did they do? They won? They won. We're
not going to another practice. And then they won. They
got the chancellor and the school president of both had
to reside. All right. Should African American players be more
willing to wield their power to force NFL owners to
give minority coaches a fair chance? You're turned away in
(53:34):
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven, nine, nine,

in particular, use their power to address this discrepancy in
African American coaches getting passed over. And you know, our
show is a mixed bag of all thing. We have
a lot of fun on this show. We tackle a
lot of issues. We sound different. We talk about more
(54:38):
sports than most national radio shows, but we also tackle
real issues and this is one of those so sometimes
you know, we're gonna give it to you real and
wall and this is taking everything else. It's like when
we talk about the game, right, we're gonna give it
to you real, keep it real, keeping one hundred Andre
in the Cape. You're with the Eye couple. You guys,
(55:03):
thanks for taking Mike call. There's clearly an issue. And
Rob you hit the nail on the head. Until Labor
unifies that the player's capital is gonna be under no
cap capital will not will not change once a bit.
You had a great interview the other day talking about
power doesn't concede anything in of itself, how much fact is.
Here's what needs to happen. Players need to unify. Not
(55:23):
for African American coaches. We need African American ownership. The
Rooney rule was absolute success. Why because the Rooney's believed
in in supported Mike Tomlin over the years. John Gruden
ten years, this guy rule seven years. You bring an
African American coaching for one or two years, then you
get rid of him. Here's my overarching point. Just like
(55:44):
what Tyler Perry is doing. He didn't build, he didn't
make a movie. He built a studio. Okay, and so
the movies, in the films and the entire culture that's
going to flourish under his leadership. You will see because
you have you have their symmetry from the top down.
Players need to come together for African American ownership, which
is what I think we're going towards a little bit
(56:05):
with jay Z, and then you'll see these African American
coaches flourish across the board. I haven't heard from jay
Z on this whole time. He should come out and
say something, Yeah, you're working for the league. Now. I
want to hear something from jay Z. Where's jay Z?
Let's say marsh Salad Mississippio with Christ and Rob. All right,
what's up? Christ and Rob? Man get to be on
(56:26):
first time caller Man, long time listen, Thank you. I
wanted to talk about this yesterday, man, because it was
so deep, dude, and like, like y'all said, Man, y'all
speak on the real man, y'all, y'all, y'all talk about
everything that the other networks won't talk about. Man. And
I appreciate y'all, thank you, But I mean, I'm a
I'm an engineer, man, and like it's it's it's it's
(56:47):
the same way in the corporate world. Man, it's like
for a black young black man, man, you gotta work
twice as hard to get you know. Sometimes after have
to reward at times, man, and you know you almost
got to succeed way past beyond yours at times. And
I think the players should stand up man, and like
not just I wouldn't say sellout, but you know, come
together for a better cause, man, and get more of
(57:09):
us in there and we can relate to each other better. Man. Well,
I tell you one thing, and Rob, we see this
and it's in every business, journalism, marketing, accounting, the business
we're in. Who you know, Chris, who you know? I
told you this. I'm not like some seventy five year
old man. I know I'm getting older. But how about
(57:29):
this In Detroit, I was the first black sports columnist
at the Detroit Free Press, Chris. When they hired me,
you know, all the paper was one hundred and sixty
one years old. Is that outrage surprising? Outrageous history of
the country. Detroit Free Press one hundred and sixty one
(57:50):
hit Marcel, thanks for calling. Let's go to David and Oregon. David,
you know, with Chris and Rob Robin Chris, good to
talk to you guys again. Let's have y'all to day
one call and regularly generally complained about my hogs. Yes,
we don't how you doing. I'm doing all right. You
were dead on about the pats. But you know you've
got an apology letter coming to the mail for me.
I thought you gonna send me wings or something. I
(58:12):
tried to tell you about the paths. You come out
to Ben and I'll take you to a steak dinner
and I'll treat you real well. Rob Okay, David, you
giving you too much, Craig, David, we predict for free steak.
I'm gonna have to fly out to the credit for
calling anything. But you know he was right that we
didn't look kindly. He'd been saying, is this twenty twelve? Literally,
(58:32):
you know even a blind squirrel finds and that all right,
go ahead, but you know the issue, you'll nailed it
on the head. You can't have quotas, but you have
to look at statistics to determine how employers are complying
with discrimination loss and so you'll look at what's called
despirit impact versus despirit treatment. But you can't have quota,
(58:55):
so you can't obviously have to organize. But the issue becomes,
then what laws do you enact other than those that
are like the Rooney rule, which is mainly aspirational to
require it when you can't order quotas R Really, I
think I think the solution is one to hire me
as an NFL PA attorney, who's your sources. I'd be
(59:17):
happy to help fix this. And then I think you
have multicultural investigatory committees within each organization that sign off
on these hires, yet interview a minimum of twenty to
thirty candidates, require you know, keep the Rooney rule in place,
maybe expend a little bit, and then just go from there. Yeah, Mark,
(59:40):
good point, David, and Marvin Lewis, he made a good
point where he said he actually and you and I
both are in agreement that if you know, like the
team's hiring somebody else and they're just bringing you in
to comply with the Rooney rule, no thought of hiring you,
don't go don't go to But Marven Lewis made a
good point in that he would still tell, you know,
(01:00:02):
if it looks like it's a regular process, still tell
African Americans to go for the experience of the interview.
You know, if it's legit right, but you can you
need to get that experience. That's why, well, that's why
none of the black coaches came to Detroit, right because
everybody knew Mooch was already Steve Mariucci was already highed.
Would you have gone everybody in the league, you know
(01:00:23):
when you know you're not, Yeah, like there's no job right,
there were no jobling. Let's go with Susan and Florida. Susan,
you're on with Chris and Rob. Yes, I just wanted
to call and tell you that I agree with you
guys on because I can remember when back of the sixties,
when people like nac Chine Cole wasn't even allowed to
(01:00:44):
walk through the front door and it comes that he
was performing, Yes, he had to come in through the
back door exactly. And I know that Benny Goodman, I think,
was one of the UH orchestra groups that would not
play any place unless he was allowed to walk through
the And you know what, Susan, Frank Sinatra two wouldn't
play certain Vegas clubs if if Sammy Davis or black
(01:01:07):
entertainers couldn't come through the front either he was the
same way exactly. Yes, because I can remember those days.
That's a great point, Susan, because I said this robe
a long time. Thanks for the call. Appreciate show you need. Obviously,
whites are sixty five percent of the country population and
they have them overwhelming majority of the wealth. You need
(01:01:30):
powerful whites to see you in unison for these causes
as well. Come and tell me what this move. It
wasn't all black. No, tell me this. If there was
a press conference and Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew
Brees said Colin Kaepernick deserves a job in the NFL
(01:01:51):
and we will not stand for that, what would have happened? Seriously,
he'd be in the league quicker than if the black players,
Am I right? Those three said no question, and that's what. No,
there's no doubt about it because the owners would be like,
oh my god, he just said no, no, what would happen?
And that's that's the other part. All right, let's do
the Dre in Seattle. You're on the yard a couple
(01:02:12):
of Fox Sports Radio. What you got, Dre. You guys
are all good, you know that? Thank you man? Listen
real quick. Uh, if I was a player, a college
player in the state of Mississippi. How can you play
for the state that has that symbol and it's flash.
I don't see any black football I gotta be honest.
(01:02:33):
Rob mentioned this yesterday. I think it was. We went
to see Just Mercy yes the other night and it
took place in Alabama, and it was just nineteen eighty seven.
And I gotta be honest, I was sitting there like
man and all these dudes are playing, playing a making
them this historic dre. Let me tell you this, how
they're treating black people in Alabama. When the Super Bowl
(01:02:55):
was in Atlanta and in the nineties, I don't remember
exactly what year they had, they had the Confederate flag
as a part of the Georgia state flag. All the
black reporters covering the Super Bowl walked out of the
press box and refused to acknowledge that flag during the
national anthem, players stood there and accepted it. But it
got so much about the media and all that that
(01:03:17):
eventually it was removed from the Georgia state flag. But
the players could have had that thing removed immediately, no doubt,
no doubt. All right, thanks, How much power does Lebron
really have over the Lakers roster. His former teammate Eddie
House has the answer. Next, but first, Fox Sports Radio
has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch
(01:03:37):
all of our shows at foxsports Radio dot com and
within the iHeart Radio app search f SR to listen live.
He has his own theme music. He's an NBA champion
of former three points sunniper none other than our man
Eddie House. What's up? Brother? How day was that? And
n Fellers? How you? I'm good and I'm really good.
(01:04:00):
How you guys doing. We're great, brother, great, great to
have you on the show. All right, I'm gonna get
right into it. I can't even I can't remember whether
you pick the Lakers or the Clippers in the West.
I picked the Lakers going to against the Clippers. What
do you see or maybe you don't think it's a
big deal that they lost those two games, but do
(01:04:20):
you see anything in those games and just analyzing the
teams that the Lakers the Clippers just have the Lakers
number or the Lakers won't be able to beat them
in a seven game series? Is there anything got you
feeling like that? I think of what it is with
the Clippers they have more closers with the Lakers are
riding Lebron or Ad. Right, AD's a guy that needs
(01:04:42):
to get the ball to him. Somebody has to get
him the ball for him to close. The Clippers have
three guys that are legitimate closers that nobody has to
get them the ball to get them their shot. And
I think that's the difference between that all three of
those guys could bring the ball up. He would never
bring the ball up, you know, And I think that
they're missing that one other guy. It used to be
(01:05:03):
you could get it done with two guys. Now you
have to have three legitimate closers on your team, three
legitimate stars nowadays, where you know, the Big Three was
forming things like that for you in order for you
to really feel And I think that's what the Clippers have,
and I think that's the reason why they won the
last couple of games. Well, they're they're talking like they
would like a playmaker. The Lakers like, to your point,
(01:05:24):
another playmaker that win. Lebron's either win the bench or
if he's out there, he doesn't have to make every play,
because that's kind of how it is. Do you like
the idea of maybe moving Kyle Kuzma or in your
mind is it you know, barring some like blockbuster offer,
in your mind, is he you gotta keep him with
the Lakers. I'll tell you this, everybody's on the black.
(01:05:47):
This says nothing new with Lebron's team. I think every
single year when it comes to the trade deadline, they're
looking because he's always playing in the postseason, looking to
win a championship, They're looking to improve their roster. I think,
barring Bron James and Anthony Davis, everybody is up for
trade if you can whoever you got a trade to
help your team get better, if you're able to get
(01:06:07):
that third guy. Um. I don't think that you know
Kuzman as well. I think anybody is fair game. So,
I mean it's nothing new when it comes, you know,
with Lebron james basketball team during trade deadline, always looking
to improve. Even though they got the second best record
in the in the league and sitting the top of
the Western Conference, you're always looking to get that extra edge,
(01:06:27):
especially when you've seen that you got a couple of
teams that you kind of struggle with and not saying
that they have their number, but they've shown that they're
able to get it done even when you had leads
Layton game. How about the Kyle Kuzman thing, is trainer
said something about Lebron. Does Lebron play like okay, yeah,
I got that in the back of my head here,
And does he wind up making Kyle Kuzman pay for
(01:06:50):
that and maybe get him out of town? Like listen,
I don't think you could fault. You could blame somebody
for somebody else saying something. Now, if you want to
read into that, say, oh, well that's what they're saying
behind closed doors, behind my back. Well, now you're speculating.
But for you to hold Kyle Kuzman accountable for what
(01:07:10):
somebody else said, I think that's that's not fair to
Kyle Kuzman unless he comes out himself and say, yeah,
well that's how I feel too well. But the only
reason I get it at him what you what you're
saying makes is logical. But we know all the time,
like when somebody's mother or father or sister or brother
says something, you go, you know where that came from?
(01:07:32):
Or you know, like Lonzo, uh, what you called ball?
I forgot the LaVar, Well, LaVar was saying stuff. Oh
they turned on Luke Walton. They don't like him. They're
doing this, They're doing that the players, don't you know
when you say, well, he's sitting there talking to his
son at dinner or whatever, he's probably getting that from Lonzo.
So sometimes I agree it ain't fair. But don't you
(01:07:52):
feel like that's where sometimes information comes from. I think
sometimes Then when you say sometimes, it's not definite all
the time. So you know, you got a guy that's
a trainer that could be his own opinion. You don't
know if the conversation with something like this, whatever the
trainer said about Lebron and Kyle Kuzma was like, man,
I don't feel that way at all, And he went
and tweeted what he wanted to do anyway, Well, I
(01:08:14):
would I would have fired him. I would have fired
him if he was my trainer, and he did that
and put my career in jeopardy at my status with
Lebron seriously, because you just hurt me whether you thought,
whether you were thinking or not. Yeah, I told I
agree with you. I think if you if you're a trainer,
I think you stay in your las. Yes, what are
(01:08:34):
you doing? Especially these are like competent and if Kyle
Kuzma did say this, that's even more grounds to get
fired because these are competential conversations you're having with somebody
that you trust. It's almost like I wouldn't go as
far as your wife, but like your best friend. You know. Right?
All right, Eddie House, NBA Champion, joining the Eye couple.
Let's go to the East, Eddie, Philadelphia. They were my
(01:08:57):
pick in the preseason, not so much not looking good
right now. I mean I still think they got a shot,
but Obviouslywalkee is the team right now? What do you
see from them? What do they need to do differently?
Add as far as personnel, what's your take on them?
Ja Ja Reddick. They need that threat, that type of threat,
(01:09:18):
a guy that can knock it down and stretch the floor.
You got all of the guys do similar things to
buy as Paris isn't a knockdown three point shooter to
spread the floor. He's a one on one guy and
he's gonna use the mid post, free throw line, mid range.
He'll step out, but that's not what his thing is.
You need a guy that's able to stretch the floor,
especially when your point guard does not shoot. So on
pick and rolls. Guys are going under or they're switching
(01:09:40):
very soft to where they're forcing him to shoot. I
see Ben Simmons has been making adjustments to where he
takes up that space, turns it into a little post up.
He's been working on his little jumpook in a little close,
little mid range jumper. But it's just not enough. You know.
I think if everything gets clawled up and you have
too many light type players. I think when you have
being probably one of your best three point shooters being
(01:10:03):
Al Horford, that's when you have to look at things,
say we got to get better in that area of
our game. Eddy, I'm not here to rip Dwayne Wade.
And I remember when he wanted a farewell tour and
gifts from everybody on his way out or whatever. But
the heat now are talking about a three day ceremony
for Dwayne Wade. I mean, duty was an unbelievable player,
(01:10:24):
won three championships. Down now, I'm not taking anything away.
Three days? What is this? You saund like a straight
up hater. Hey, three day, But he's one of his championships.
That's what it is. Let day, he's one of his championships.
They'll celebrate one of the championships one day, another championship
the other day, and the other one on the third day.
Play man let him Hey, leten, I tell you what
(01:10:45):
one thing about d Way. As great of a player
he was, man, he was even a better He's even
a better person. So I think it is all credit
is due to what not only he done for the
Miami Heat organization, but what he's done in that Miami
Day community. I mean, that's what that is. They're they're
recognizing that, and they're celebrating what he did Miami Jay County.
(01:11:06):
Give him a fish frying call of the day, a
three days, three day ceremony. You come on, Michael Jordan
didn't get a three day ceremony. No, but Michael Jordan
has his jersey required in the Heat arenas. So he
does things like this. That does things like this, Man,
he recognizes real and when somebody is great for the
(01:11:27):
game and also an ambassador for the community, I think
and their organization, I think that should be celebrated. Man,
I can't. I can't knock that. Come on, Rob, you
just come on, man, stop being a hater. Man. He
came on, Man, it's blood. He just wants to go
to Prime. I know he no reason why you hate
so hard. You already know you just want to get
(01:11:48):
a meal from Dwayne Wade down there, min. No, I
don't have I don't have to do that. I don't
I don't ask for nothing. I ain't looking for nothing.
I'm don't telling you exactly what it is firsthand accounts
of being around him. Man, he is even better person
than he was a basketball player. Man, that's real talk.
All right. In the house, always the best. Put back
(01:12:11):
back in the studio. That's right, Yeah, can tell him
hit me up, man, my life, my number, the same
same number thing. But it's all good, yes and same
inside man, Thank you all right. Rob Rocker brought it
up a three day jersey retirement ceremony. Wow, of course
you don't. You're not with this. Please tell me you're
(01:12:31):
not with this, Sarah on the other side of the
break radio, Yes, I ain't paying for that. Be sure
to catch live editions of The Odd Couple with Chris
Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern four
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio app.
Maybe you want to drop to your knees. It is
(01:12:53):
the Eye Couple. Of Chris and Rob. All right, Rob,
so so go ahead and explain why you're mad at Duwayne.
I'm not mad. I just don't you know, like three
days sound like too much? You know what, you want
to be acknowledged. You go to the arena, they shower
you with gifts, and they put together a three minute
(01:13:13):
video of like great moments and you crying when they
won the first championship and when Lebron came and you
won the other two. Everybody feels good about it. Three days,
you know, did he feed? Did he feed like three
hundred people with three fish and five loads of bread?
I mean, come on, three days. Here, here's what Spayne
(01:13:33):
Wade stopping. Here's what has ribs panties in a bunch,
to use one of his favorite terms. The Miami Heat
have announced that Dwayne Wade is going to get a
three day jersey retirement ceremony. Rob g read the different
days they're gonna do three, three different things each. They're
just trying to say, is this it is doing a
(01:13:55):
good team this year. Well, they screwed up and making
it the weekend of the Wilder Fury rematch, so no
one will be paying attention. That's Friday, February twenty first,
they will be holding an event honoring his career and
the impact he had on the city of Miami. This
event will be limited to season ticket holders and premium
ticket holders only. That's classes only for the rich people.
(01:14:17):
I like that. No, it's another money grab, it's another
stop it Are they going in for free? I'm hayden.
Are they going on pay to day two? Prime money?
Day two is the night his jersey will actually be
hung from the rafters when they're playing the Cavaliers. And
in day three on Sunday, they will screen a film
at the arena based on his life and they will
(01:14:37):
sell tickets to that one, benefiting his charity. So what
this wrong with this? Because you know why? Now? What
do you remember when he walked out on the heat
and went to Chicago over one hundred thousand dollars? No,
And what I remember I remember when Dave Away took
less money time after time after time. He was team
(01:14:59):
so he was Dune. I'm like Tom Brady taking less money,
that's his fault. And then he's gonna get all worked
up over one hundred thousand dollars and go to the
Terrible Bulls and then have to come back. And then
he goes and follows Lebron James to Cleveland. Lebron has
no use for him and dumps him after two months
and said get out of here. He crawls back with
(01:15:19):
his tail between his legs to go to Miami. No
at one night for him, and that's it. I get it.
Enough with the Dwayne Wayne, that's you. Seats are different.
This isn't nineteen seventy eight. It's not even nineteen ninety
eight or two thousand and eight. Heck, six of role
(01:15:40):
players are getting video tribute. Who they go back, Nobody
the Wayne Wade is mister Heat. They call it Wayne County. No,
don't do that, Yes they do. He's mister Heat. He's
the greatest Miami Heat player ever. Here's the problem because
(01:16:00):
of his long jevity. I mean, obviously Lebron was better.
But you know what I mean. No, you just say
he's mister heat all I'm telling you give it. Give
him something extrac You don't give him the same thing
you gave Glenn Rice. Yet the lines old morning, Yes
you do, you give one above that you want him
as such? One day to acknowledge his how great he
was for the organization and the overdoing it. Like even
(01:16:23):
when he wanted that tour to the foot puts a
little different because that was he put that he made
pat Riley and the heat this isn't here was trying
to sell T shirts. Can you imagine that you could
just be definitive. It was a sportswriter trying to sell
T shirts on the website. But way, you got a
lot of nerves, which y'all get robbed dot com every
(01:16:44):
other segment. Go to get robbed dot com and buy
an eye couple sweatshirts. We got hats, we got T shirts,
we got every look at you, and you can go
to Amazon dot com and get my book. If I'm writing,
I'm ripping. It's not like the way Way went to Pat.
He say, hey, Pat, I've got an idea. Why don't
you guys turn my jersey retirement into a three day ceremony? No,
(01:17:07):
they did it. If if Fox Sports or the Detroit
News right you worked there, Yes, Black free Press, if
the Free Press wanted to give you a three day celebration,
Lord knows you don't deserve it. But if they wanted
to give you a three day celebration, would you turn
it down. I would say, there's no need for that,
(01:17:28):
all right, So day one will celebrate, On day two
will go out with brooms and sweep the streets of
Detroit to clean it. And on day three, day three,
we would go to the superpark super kission and feed
the homeless and people who are hungry. That's what I
would want to do with my two extra two days. Yeah,
I bet you go that you yes, yes, But I'm
(01:17:52):
fine with d Wade. I got no problem with this
because it's it's the heat. The jersey thing was a
little bit self service, and what that was him creating that,
and and then his boy Mellow wanted he made Mellow jealous.
Mellow exactly. Even Mellow thought he deserved it. But this
is different. This is the team. Look, if it wasn't
for Dwayne Waite, let's keep it real, they would not
(01:18:15):
have gotten Lebron James. So he is responsible for all
three Championshi was responsible that franchise had when Dwayne. When
Lebron walked out on Dwayne Waite, Lebron wanted he had
unfinished business in Cleveland. That you got a hometown, you
wouldn't go back to deliver it. What they have you
in Jamaica, Jamaica, Queens. I Couple. Fox Sports Radio has

(01:19:02):
At the bottom of the hour, as we do every
worship Wednesday, it's the hot seat. We got a special
guest in. We always bring a Fox Sports colleague. He's
got good pipes, but what about his takes? Yeah, I
pipes are good. He's the Fox Sports one executive editor.
I don't know if he wants this smoke rose into
(01:19:25):
the arena. He's stepping out of his comfort. Is he
gonna retaliate when we go back on TV? Sure if
our TV time starts getting cut right, But it's Neil Scarborough,
our good friend and colleague, and he will be on
the hot seat. And we told him we don't take
it personal because we roast cats on the hot Sea
all right, But anyway, before we get into that, a
(01:19:48):
time braiding news of the day, he went on Instagram
and and shared his feelings, share his heart got got
transparent and I liked it. And of course, my partner
of hit boat, the hating his brother of all time,
he has something untoward to say about Tom Brady. I
(01:20:09):
can't even believe you went this far, but go ahead
and share, you Chris, your small minded, delusional take. This is,
of course tom Brady again being selfish. It's a money grab.
It's just the money graph. How's it the money graph?
Because he's taken less money all his career. But the
cry for tom Brady is he needs help. So what
(01:20:32):
did he want? He wants to make more money, which
means there'll be less money to go get people to
help him. So which one is it? Tom Brady? Do
you want more help to be able to make the
Pats better? Or do you just want more money because
you were dumb enough after all these years to give
them the hometown discount And now you feel like certain
(01:20:54):
a certain kind of way, because now you're like, I
never got paid like a superstar, I never got my
true value. My feelings are heard I want them to
pay me, even though I'm gonna be forty three, and
I jet thank the two awful playoff games. I was
awful in the super Bowl and we somehow won, and
(01:21:14):
I was awful on Saturday against the Titans, and including
the patented Tom Brady used when the older quarterbacks, it
always happens. Brett Farve used to do this when they
throw the pick six out to end the game. It
was just it was, it was perfect. Tom Brady showed
how bad he is on that last throw. I know
(01:21:36):
it was deflective, but it was it should have been held.
It wasn't like it was bounced off the receiver, bounced
off the opponent defender. But stop it, rob just stop it.
That's a ridiculous take. He doesn't need more money at
this point, Chris. He went twenty years so what does
he want more money? Didn't need more money five years ago?
What does he need more money? It's not about need.
(01:21:58):
If he has the right, if he wants more money,
he can get more money. I thought I thought he
was a team guy. He asked about Yeah, he's not
a team guy. Are you gonna see here on national
radios and say Tom Brady is not a team not
if he wants more money and you a team guy.
You want more money? You told, you, told me you
will take. You will not settle for anything but the
(01:22:21):
last penny. You want every amount you at the highest
amount you can get. I charge you a team guy.
I'm a team guy, but I want one penny more
than you make a year. I wanted. Well, I got
news for your buddy, didn't get it. I've seen your contract.
All right, let's move on. Uh, Brian Shaw be Shaw
(01:22:44):
Helloa like b Shaw a lot. Although I think he's
out of line. Uh can you talk about I don't.
I don't think out of line is the wrong phrase.
He's wrong. I think he's wrong. But anyway, he came hard,
he came with a strong take the brothers. I don't
think Lebron's vindictive a little bit. I really don't. Okay,
(01:23:04):
if he's vindictive, I don't know that he goes to
play for Dan Gilbert. So go ahead, here's the sound
of Brian Shaw. I know Rich Paul was trying to
sign Kyle Kuzman when he left his agent last year.
He didn't sign with Rich Baul. So when you don't
sign with Rich Paul, and your trainer comes out and
says that Kawhi was giving it to Lebron. You're gonna
be out of the head. That was on Yahoo, and
(01:23:28):
that is, of course, former Laker player and coach Brian Shaw.
He's just saying that Kyle Kuzma don't want to be
on strings like a d and everybody. He didn't say
anything about Kyle couple he said about Lebrne No, but
I'm just saying, here's the Kuzman don't want to be
on strings like all right, dude, what's good for Lebron?
All right? Here? First of all, what I'm told is
(01:23:49):
that Lebron and Kuzmer fine, Okay, there's no issues between them.
Lebron's not taking that to hard or anything like that,
Okay what his trainer said. Secondly, even if Lebron had
an issue with Kuzma, and I think you may even
have to admit this, Rob Lebron always puts business above
(01:24:13):
when it comes to basketball, business above his personal feelings.
He was boys with Dwayne Wade, but it was time
to go, so he left and didn't even tell him.
Dan Gilbert called him out of his name, and then
some and Lebron people in Lebron's inner circle never lost
(01:24:33):
contact with Dan Gilbert. They stayed in touch with him,
stayed on friendly terms with him. But then Lebron James
goes back and Playton. I know he wanted to go home,
but don't deal. A lot of people would have been like,
I don't care how much I'm want to go back.
I am never playing for Lebron. Lebron Len. I'm not
saying he forgave. He didn't even forgave him, but he didn't.
(01:24:55):
I'm not saying he liked Dan Gilbert and was buddy
buddy because he was don't after that. But but he's
still he said, business wise, I got something to take,
but I'm not gonna let my personal feelings stand in
the way. Let me finish this last thing. So if
he had beef with Kyle Kuzman, if it is not
a trade that makes them better, then Lebron would not
(01:25:19):
have him traded. That's all I'm saying. He would only
have him traded if it's a trade in which they
get better, because business wise, Kuzma brings something to the table.
I think that Lebron the only reason he went back
to Cleveland. You don't want to be UH an outcast
or a villain in your whole town. Yes he would
(01:25:40):
have been, Yes he would have. They would because he's
become you know. But they were burning this jersey and
all that, and he couldn't know. Okay, I just, I
just I just believe Chris that that's the reason, that
that's the reason. But they all had to go play
for that guy. I got it. I got it. Now
would you have done it? I wouldn't have done it.
But don't make it. Don't act like I'm telling the
(01:26:02):
easy thing to do. I'm telling you, Lebron, because he
was the way he left his hometown. You just don't
want that to be forever. You can't go back and
people are looking at you sideways because you walked out
on us in your hometown. So I always believe he
was with you, Okay, I agree with you on why
he went back. The point is you still had to
(01:26:22):
play for the guy that went at you a thousand times.
But the difference, but the difference here with Kuzma is
all right, Kuzma didn't sign with your with your guys
UH representation right with with uh Rich Rich Paul so so.
So he didn't sign with them, all right, he's not
(01:26:42):
having the greatest season, he's been inconsistent. Yeah, but he's
coming out. He missed training, came but I'm just saying
he's been insistence. So they could be a way to
be like, well, this guy's talking smack, because most of
the time, where does a trainer get off coming off
about Lebron and saying stuff that's probably stuff he got
from Kyle Kuzman when he was working him out. A
(01:27:03):
lot of times, Chris people worked out Kauahi too, so
he might just be like, yo, that's my boy. I
helped Kauai work on that skill set and Lebron didn't
work with me. You had the better skills. Yeah, they
might have worked with him, but he's what it calls trainer,
am I right? I'm not sure how relationship is. I
mean's trainers, but he worked with Kawahi too. He may
(01:27:27):
work with both of them equally or Kawhi for all
we know. All that's all I know is from the
part that I thought that it was his trainer, not
Kauai's trainer. But anyway, my point is I can see
where Lebron could could move him. It's not like he's
that third wheel that you he is, he's there. Thirdly,
that you can't live without him. I'm telling them, I
(01:27:47):
don't believe that Kyle Kuzma is replaceable. No, of course
he's replaceable. It's replaceable. But if you get what if
you don't get somebody that can replace what he gives you,
that's my point. That's all. I'm not saying Kuzman can't
be traded, but we've seen just saying they're not going
to make a bad deal out of spite. That's what
I'm saying. You actually think that could happen if they
(01:28:08):
can move him for somebody. I'm just saying I think
that he was a little dude saying if if he
even saying something about me, his trainer says something about me,
So I'm gonna make our team worse to called Kuzman
come and get him out of here. Did he ever
come out and say he said he never He said
he never said it, Like he tweeted, call a spade
(01:28:30):
a spade, right, and he said that wasn't applying to Lebron,
But I don't know what it applied to. Just so
happened to come out and around the time of the
other But here's the thing you though, and you know
this because you covered the NBA along and the other sports.
Teammates don't always have to get along. And I'm not
saying they don't get along, but you know what I mean,
(01:28:51):
Like sometimes a little edge is good. Like you could
be on a TV show in the afternoon and maybe
you and the host don't get along. I couldn't do it,
but some other people can't, you know. But but that
that's my point. Like, if they didn't get a law
Brian's trying to win a champions they could be pet
I'm not making the team worse by getting rid of
(01:29:14):
Kyle Kuzman because something Miss Trainers said. I mean, come on,
how petty? Could you be serious? I'm seeing people and
I'm not saying if he don't if he doesn't get
if he gets traded, fine, I'm just saying it's gonna
be a trade that upgrades them. That's all I'm saying.
All Right, are you with me? You? I heard you
at you You've been delusional all day? That Brady take
(01:29:35):
you started the show with, No, that was a great
Brady taking. You can't wait to hear the podcast tomorrow.
It is so good. Make sure, I'll admit that. I
second the Apple podcast all right, after the show you
need to go. It is one of the all time
best Brady takes in the history of these United States.
Number one. I'm telling you, man, Alex, Alex, you are
(01:29:58):
my man. Before Christmas, he never would have done that.
What he never just dropped jewels. Sometimes we evolved, Chris,
Sometimes we evolved, Alex is a pair of Jordan Is
all into it. It ain't about that. Heck, in two months,
Alice won't be a vegan. Chris. You know what happens, man.
Somebody gives you a Jordan, somebody gives you a playlist.
I mean, it's just how it goes. That's you know
(01:30:19):
what I mean by diggett the playlist I gave you.
It was a good playlist, all right. Last, like you
know what it's the playlist on the ten dollars to
Starbucks is that they five twenty five dollars all night.
That's a nice gift because you spent twelve thousand dollars
on our colleagues here in five sports rated that much.
(01:30:41):
I got a wife and kids, all right, I'm putting
how many girls am I putting through college? I gotta
go to the club. I'm buying baby formula diapers. You
know many, I got about twenty five girls going to college.
It's worship Wednesday. We will not have this on work
hip Wednesday. How dare you guess where I'm going next Saturday?
(01:31:04):
Church with me? No, I'll be in Atlanta. Oh, Magic
City next We've out of that. Magic City song is
forbidden on worship Wednesday. You know that Alex the Vegan
DJ Alex tyshon Man Rob one eight hundred eight, no number,
(01:31:25):
What are you doing? Got me all out of sorts?
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty somebody? What would you say? Isaiah?
What'd you say? What's to know? You called him Isaiah?
With Lebron James, really have Kyle kuz matraded? Out of spite?
I say he's bigger than that. Rob says, not so much.
(01:31:49):
You're turned away. In a Couple of Fox Sports Radio
Rob Parker, be sure to catch live editions of The
Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker weekdays at

(01:32:31):
All right, we threw it out to you. Rob Parker.
First of all, he calls Tom Brady selfish and now
he's calling Lebron James spiteful. My goodness, oh petty on
a roll today? Okay, my bad petty Lebron James's petty.
It can be petty. All right, Let's see what you
think eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
and seven nine nine sixty three sixty nine. Let's start
(01:32:53):
with ro CD ro C day, YEP day from Detroit
home map. Hey, oh wait a minute. This other guy
who was a trashing media other day from Detroit who
loved you, right, and I'm a team who Chris Bochard
and Magic Johnson. Go ahead, and you go ahead and
do that. I like racid. Yeah, that's what's up. Hey,
That's why I call you my cousin, bro when it
(01:33:15):
comes to these topics. Chris mean you think alike. You're
so logical, brother, just like me. Now, hey, rack up right,
it would be It's just ridiculous to think Lebron is
that petty. Listen, if Lebron was that petty, he wouldn't
be one of the best assist players in the league. Different.
That ain't got nothing to do with Lebron except that
(01:33:37):
Lebron has not a petty spirit. And we know this.
Lebron is not going to mess up his team for
some gossip, for some what some hip hop hip hip
hop show, TV sitcom gossip crap. Can't I can't wait
till they get rid of com KU's money and people
will go they traded him for that, And then I
want you to call back and then come talk to
(01:33:59):
your Chris Busa when that goes down. I'm not saying
he might not get traded. I'm just saying it'll be
a deal to better than team, and they're not just
you think he's gonna get I think he's gonna get traded, yob.
That's my gut because it's it's out there. Thanks for
the call, appreciate it. What about Max and Georgia. Here's
a real caller and listener that we have on the
programs radio, right, Junior Dad? Hey always the pleasure. So
(01:34:24):
the only thing he's the king of is being king.
Petty ya, I don't know what the last caller has
been watching or listening to. I'm gonna say this on
national airways. He is the best passer of all times.
He hassive aggressive on the court. Off the court, he's
passive aggressive in the locker room. We all remember the
bench meltdown. We all remember the heat meltdown. This guy.
(01:34:46):
As soon as Kyle Kuzma pushed him, I knew it
was over. Got that bit before the trade line, he
would have They could have traded him. Why didn't they
move him to New Orleans in the summer because he
thought that they needed him, And now that he knows
he's not later and now still needs now to get
somebody better, now that they know that he ain't on board.
(01:35:07):
He ain't a Lebron, He ain't on the Lebron sheep,
and he ain't a rich Paul sheep. And he don't
want rich Paul to be as puppetea. He's expendable now
they could go get somebody else. Absolutely, and watch out
for these hair changes. We've all seen him with Slim
Shady and Kanye West and Odell. Watch out these hair
color changing. I don't know what's going on these days.
(01:35:28):
So that's on Kuzman, not Lebron. Let's go to Joseph
in Virginia. Joseph, you're on with the eye couple. Even fellows,
how are Man Gray? What about you? Doing well? Doing well? Now? Rob?
I gotta say you the reason why Lebron left Miami
was because there was nothing left in Miami. No, he
was there. He's the gold. He's the gold. What are
(01:35:51):
you talking about, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade for averaging
fifteen and fourteen points in the finals, you can't win.
He's the gold. He's supposed to be the greatest player
stopping against against Tim Duncan Man, who do you can't
have it both ways? But he's not. You ain't even
(01:36:11):
buying that. No. I will say this. There was while
you guys were on the air, there was a rumor
that leaked and it was and since you guys were talking,
Rich Paul. It was a Draymond league. It was a
Draymond and Alec Burke for Danny Green and Kuzma, and
I looked at the salaries and they matched up. But
(01:36:35):
people just look at one another playmaker and Draymond is
that he is a playmaker, and obviously he's a premier.
He's a defender. But who interested. But look, I'm not
saying he can't get traded. I'm just saying again, it's
not gonna be out of spite. Chris and San Diego,
you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Chris? Oh, No,
(01:36:59):
I can talk basketball, the basketball group, Chris Brussard and
number one Lebron Nai Rob Parker. What's up man? How
you doing? I'm good, I'm good. But yeah, I wanted
to say is I don't think called Kuso wants to
be trade because of Lebron's attentions. But I think he'll
get trade because they need they need perimeter defending in
(01:37:20):
the second unit because what the quivers are doing, there's
nobody could take a guard Kawhi Leonards. In my opinion,
the Acre can't guard them, so they need a bigger
defender because I know Ron. We all know Lebron's guard
Kawhi Learners, you know, and I feel like they need
another wing defender just so he can he can stop
Kawhi Learned and Paul George, you know. And that's that's
just my opinion. You know, well they do. I mean,
(01:37:41):
look forgot the needs. I mean, even though they're thirty
and seven, do you know that they're twenty two and old. Well,
let me put it this way. They're seven and seven
against the top six teams in each conference. The interest
twenty two and old against the bottomfe defeat. This is
like the Patriot season when they were a no and
(01:38:03):
everybody was saying how great they were. Tom Brady was
was had back then. Nobody ever said he didn't have
any players because they were scoring forty points a game.
You remember that, No, I do remember that saying they
didn't have players back then. I wasn't food. When they
were eight no beating beating a bunch. Some people were like, Oh,
they're gonna go undefeated. They got the greatest defense ever.
You remember, that was ridiculous, that's what we were hearing.
(01:38:25):
I couldn't believe that undefeated. But no, the Lakers need Look,
they could improve their three point shooting. They need another playmaker.
When Lebron gets off the court, they give up their leads,
like their plus minus with him off the court is horrible,
and they need another guy to be able to make
So this team is fraudulent, to be honest, that's what
I was saying, say, frauds the championship. The best teams
(01:38:47):
in the league again, but five hundred against the better
team says something, Chris, and you're not gonna be able
to get through the playoffs and get to a championship
playing five hundred ball. Well, they're the only team that
can beat them in the West, is the clip. Wouldn't
you agree with that? Yeah, they can beat them. They
will beat them when the Clippers are oposated all along.
The Clippers are tough. The Clippers scare me. If if
(01:39:09):
somebody that picked the Lakers especially tell you especially for
the seve the Lakers when they played January twenty eighth,
and if it's the same old song as it was
in the first two games, I will not be afraid
to say when when you know, when playoff time comes,
we'll pick our finals, right. Look, I'll go with the clue.
I don't care if they're the fourth seed, fifth seed, whatever.
(01:39:29):
The Lakers got to show up against them, period. No,
I agree, everybody likes that doesn't do anything right. And
and that's why when they say, oh, let's just a
regular season game, what do you care about the game? No,
against the better teams, you look up matchups. Nobody can
defend right Kawhi Leonard and he's able to do take
(01:39:51):
take an advantage of that. And here's the other thing, Lebron,
what was he seven for shoving for nineteen second the
two games and then nine for twenty four? He was
nine for twenty four night game. That's two bad, really
bad games against him. Yep, yep. So he's gonna have
to be more aggressive. But they do need another playmaker.
(01:40:11):
It's taxing when you're kind of the only guy making
plays on your team against that type of perimeter defense,
whether it's Beverly Kawai or Paul George on you. So
we will see. But all I'm saying is this, Kuzma
won't get traded out of spite. He might get traded,
but it'll be a trade that they believe makes them better.
(01:40:32):
All right, Get the fire department on standby. One of
our Fox Sports teammates is about to slide into the
hot seat. Question is will he be able to slide out?
Neil Scarborough's up next, But first, Fox Sports Radio has
the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all
of our shows at Fox Sports Radio dot com and
(01:40:55):
within the iHeart Radio app search f SR to listen live.
I give him this. He's got guts. He stepped into
the hot seat. He stepped into the arena. Neil Scarborough,
Fox Sports is on the hot seat. Damn son. The
current temperature again. The odd couple are making it hot
in here, damn hot. Time to sit down in the
(01:41:19):
hot seat. Yes, sir, it is the hot seat. The
Art Coup of Fox Sports Rader. We do this every
single Wednesday at nine thirty pm Eastern. We invite someone
from the Fox Sports family again into the squared circle
with the tag team Champions of the World Chris. We
saw Rob Parker, the art couple, and we're talking earlier
about people butchery names. I want you to know that
Neil almost got thrown off the hot seat because he
(01:41:41):
sent me a text at hey, don I got some thoughts.
Oh wow. I want you to know that he's already
starting out down ten nine in the first round. I
admitterally sent somebody his name Don a text before that,
but we'll go with Don Roberto from now on. There
we go, there we go. All right, you know all
this segment works. Neil has three very hot takes. He's
looking at take on two on one against Chris and Rob.
Let's get started. Topic number one. We talked about Tom
(01:42:05):
Brady to open the show, and Neil's take is this,
tom Brady cannot finish his career in any Jersey other
than a New England Patriots. He's either got to play
with the Patriots or retire. There's no other option. Neil,
you got thirty seconds. Stay your case. First of all,
I'm happy to be with you excitable boys, but I'm
about to shut you down here room. First of all,
(01:42:25):
tom Brady is Tom Brady. Like listen to Tom Brady
was playing against Iran, I would take Iran into points.
I have never rooted for Tom Brady, but he is
the baddest dude playing football that's ever happened. Right, So,
all day long, we've been listened to people say where's
he gonna go? He should go here, he should go there.
There's only one measure, Tom Brady has to win a
Super Bowl wherever he goes. Sorter of that, the New
England Patriots need to invite Tom Brady bat. They need
(01:42:47):
to pay him fifty million dollars over the next two years.
He needs to make twenty five next year for playing
and twenty five next year of personal services whatever he
wants to do. But the Patriots need to pay that
boy for everything he's done for them. Neil, stop it.
You know what, great players have finished their careers all
over and he don't have to be quiet as my time.
(01:43:08):
Did you ever hear Babe Ruthe or Willie Mays? How
about some football quarterbacks named Joe Montana or Peyton Manning
or Joe Namath or Brett Farve. They all finished elsewhere.
This is the norm. You could be a great player
and still be traded. This is what Michael Jordan, for
God's sake, play for the Washington Wizards. What are you
(01:43:30):
talking about? All right? So what do you feel about
every single one of those things? Joe Montana in Kansas City,
Michael Jordan in Washington, Willie Mays all over the planet,
including Atlantic City casinos. It's horrible, man, Tom Brady is
the biggest winner that we've ever had. First of all,
the Patriots also are not built for any other quarterback
but Tom Brady. They need, they need to transition with
Tom Brady. He needs to stay in that uniform. You
(01:43:52):
tell me what uniform makes sense. Tom Brady limping out
in Los Angeles playing for the Charges, or Tom Brady
handing up the ball to Christian mccaff tom Brady playing
in Indianapolis. Indianapolis. No, look, I agree with you in
that if I'm running the Patriots, I bring back Brady
and I upgrade elsewhere the receiver corps. I think my
offensive line will be a lot better. But this notion
(01:44:14):
that it'll be Unamerican if to see Tom Brady in
another jersey, Rob just said it. Other greats, I mean something.
Joe Montana is the goal he finished elsewhere, Barry saying
not Berry said em Miss Smith the all time leading rusher, Oh, Jason,
Joe Namath. We could go on and on. This is
what happens more often than not. So if it happens,
(01:44:37):
I wouldn't want to see it. But to act like
it's just there's no way we can have Tom Brady
in another uniform. No, it just it doesn't work that way.
His decision is that nobody's said. Nobody's saying the Patriots
can do what they want. Rob G. Neil must not
listening to the odd couple very much because he knows hitting.
After the bell is crowned upon points taking away from Neil,
(01:44:58):
Round number one goes to the yard. No you, rob
I mean Neil. Rob G is a brady hater two.
So he is the most you have a snowball. He
is so fair. Oh my god, rob G, no second
to you in in that. He is so fair. He's
the most fair guy I've ever been around. We call
him the hatreots at our house, but it just give
(01:45:19):
this man his respect. He's the best ever everything quiet.
You heard that? Take off points for question two. Right
here we go round number two. Odd couple up one
to zero over Neil. Now, the Red Sox got in
trouble for stealing signs, making them the second World Series
champion in the last what three years? Now to get
(01:45:39):
caught cheating, Neil's got a hat take for you. Let
baseball continue. It's grand old tradition to cheating. Just let
it happen. Neil, you got thirty seconds. Tell us why,
Like what are we worried about here? Like like signs stealing?
You know the way every time a guy runs around
the basis, they go no, no, no, you can't. You
can't show up the picture. It's part of the game.
Stealing sides is part of the game. It's something that
(01:46:00):
we expect. Don't tell me as a fan that I
got to sit there and watch you do an investigation
or with somebody's stealing some signs, like just embrace your cheating.
Same with the Hall of Fame. All my heroes from
the nineties are sitting on the outside of the Hall
of Fame because the league that had no rules against
steroids decide, hey, we're gonna keep them out, or the
writers to decide that it's like enough already, just get
your advantage. I don't need to know all the details.
(01:46:20):
Are who cheating? Who didn't cheat? You can't gamble on
the game. But other than that, baseball is ay of cheating.
Keep cheating. We don't have any little kids listening. My god,
I hope your daughter's not listening. What are you saying?
I mean, come on, and I get it. Stealing signs
a little part of the game flopping, even in the NBA,
(01:46:41):
a little part of the game, trying to get you
a little advantage. But when you bring technology into it,
you've taken it to a whole another level. And if
we allow cheating on one level, what's to stop and
where do you draw the line? It would get ridiculous. No,
you cannot allow cheating with technology in baseball or any
(01:47:02):
other sport. I'm surprised at you, Neil Scarborough. Cheat has
never prospered. But this is a game that has not
effectively enforced any of their rules over the last eighty years,
none of them. We talked about this whole steroid thing.
There's all these guys that are actually prosecuted for a
rule that didn't even exist. So my point is not
so much that you gotta allow cheating, But come on, baseball.
(01:47:23):
You want me to believe that you're all high and
mighty and you're worried about stuff that's going on between
the cracks that the fans don't care about. It's like,
just keep hitting home runs, keep making a look fair
on TV. That's all I care about. I don't care
about the minutia of how deep is a pocket in
the glove, how many feet off in the base. The
guy in once a cheetah, always a cheater. That's Neil Scarborough.
(01:47:43):
He's exposing himself right here. If I'm his wife, I'm
on the phone call. Look the Frost lawyer. He's down
with cheating. Neil is exposing himself. How dare you say

better world for the kids. We want them to live
a good, honest, clean life in an American way. Come on, baby,
that's not how we roll, Okay, Apollo cream all right?
Round two was tough to score, some heymakers throwing both sides.
(01:48:27):
But you know what, the only time I hammer watched
baseball was in the steroid era. Round number two goes
to Neil Scart stop it. That's right, you are the
most crooked guy i'm around. Fox Sports executive, very straight.
He was a straight arrow. I thought he wantze Fox
(01:48:48):
Sports Radio. The our couple, last take of the night.
We saved the best for last, the hottest one of
them all. Now Neil is one of those guys who's
lived all around the country, been in our la, New York, Seattle,
but he says the greatest city in America to live
in is Nashville, Tennessee. Neil, you got thirty seconds, stay
(01:49:09):
your case. Listen. This is this is about personal preference.
It's close. I've been in central Central time zone. Chicago
was close. But first of all, Nashville happening city. I
was there at the time they got pro sports coming
in there. Hockey team is there, NFL team is there.
It's not just the hubb of country music. It's a
hub filmmaking in the South, Nashville and Georgia. But the
biggest thing about Nashville is I spent time there. My
(01:49:31):
daughter was born. I've never been around a nicer group
of people than in Nashville. They will they will pick
up your groceries for you. They will hold your daughter
while eating food in the restaurant. It's a big, cosmopolitan city.
I'm just telling you, if you ever get a chance,
and it caused nothing to live there. All about Nashville,
Tray Clay Travis helped me out. That's nice and cute
that your daughter was born there. I really feel that,
(01:49:51):
but stop it. Nashville, nashvillelle. I don't even know if
it's the best place to live in Tennessee. Memphis, they
at least they got the barbecue. What's Nashville got other
than the grand old opera? And you're talking to comedy opre.
They don't even say opera opre. I mean, what are
you talking about? Pro sports? Is there? You got football?
(01:50:11):
That's it? Where's the baseball? Where's the basketball? Don't don't sports?
Don't bring up hockey. New York City, I got Broadway,
I got the culture of Harlem and Brooklyn. I got
every pro sports team I could think of. Got Joe
talking about you got Joe Judge. That's what you got
(01:50:32):
in New York. Listen, I grew up in New York.
I love New York. I've had the benefit of being
around the country. The question was what's the best place
you ever lived? The answer is that Nashville, Tennis. The
question was what was the best city to live in
in America? Don't fudget oh, the best city living in America.
I'll change my answer Nashville, Tennessee. Seriously, are you done? Nashville, Tennessee?
(01:50:54):
Are you kidding me? I mean other than the God
buy you a pair of dumb cowboy boots and to
get some bad barbecue. Nashville, that's the best place to live,
No way, no how, New York, La, Chicago. There's nothing
but great cities all over this country. Atlanta, Massias, Magic City.
(01:51:17):
Nashville can't compete with that? Are you kidding me? Down there?
They don't throw dollar bills, they throw fifty seven pieces
and her sorry Naville for Rob Parker. I don't know how.
We started a very touching story about Kneel and his
daughter and then we ended with well, they don't got
(01:51:37):
a good strip club in Nashville, and that's why it
can't be number one. But I live in La. All
we living. I'm never leaving. Lay goes to the Yeah
once again. I can take I can take my medicine.
I can take my medicine. I don't look for an executive.
Most of the guys that come on are talking heads.
(01:52:00):
You did a good job, held you all, but you
know what soundly but you did? All right? There's a
lambulance out here looking for We got some Ben Gay.
We keep it out there, Ben Gay, because this is
usual and it happens every week been gay and cocoa butter.
There are a couple of ice buckets out there. Yeah,
(01:52:20):
it was seriously our man, Neil Scarborough, Fox Sports One
executive editor did a great job. Good job, Neil. Pleasure
to join you, so we took the l A great
job on the hot seat, all right. Mike McCarthy has
been the Cowboys coach for exactly one day, and he's
already made a colossal mistake. According to the hip boat.
(01:52:41):
Who else will explain next? It's the Odd Couple Fox
Sports Radio. You're listening to the sounds of Alex the
Vegan and the Odd Couple, Chris and Rob. Why are
you doing that to Alex? You know what? You know,
what's unbelievable. Alex used to like Chris would call for
stuff like the Champ thing and Alice would give it
(01:53:02):
to him all time. Remember that. I used to be like, yeah,
so you win body from air Joe. I want him
to him. I bought him and joins because I think
he's a great guy. Never had a pair of Jordans
stop and I thought it would be a nice gift,
that's all. I didn't want anything for it, Alice, should
I ask you for he didn't give you a risky
didn't he give you a list of drops to start?
You saw that, So now I expect to hear my
(01:53:24):
theme song more than Chris's. That's nothing. I'm not that
kind of guy. I'm just so you know what, it's
out of the kindness of my heart. You gonna get bold, Rob.
They were talking, they were great. When people do good
work for me and us an our show, I appreciate it.
I don't think they get enough credit. They don't get
paid enough. So I'm here to like bridge the gap.
(01:53:45):
I'm that guy. You're the man. Well, I don't get
paid enough either, So bridge bridge the gap with me.
All right? Speaking of the gap, Look, Mike McCarthy hired
in Dallas, and it looks like he's gonna keep Kelling
Moore as his offensive coordinator. A lot of people think
that was Jerry Jones idea. I'm gonna say this, and
I was critical of Kellen Moore's game playing against Philadelphia
(01:54:10):
when they lost that essentially that playoff game. You got
Ezekiel Elliott who has ran well against Philadelphia, and you
don't go to him. He ran thirteen times, I believe,
and you put it. You know you just threw it
too much, and so I was critical of him. However,
I Kellen Moore's young. I think he's got good potential.
(01:54:34):
I think Mike McCarthy will still probably called the plays.
I don't have a problem with this move rout. I do.
This is why Jerry hasn't won in twenty five years,
because he still wants to run everything Kellen Moore. When
you hire a coach who's won a Super Bowl and
has the resume that Mike McCarthy has let him hire
his his own staff, stop it with the Kelly Moore.
(01:54:57):
Kelly Moore was so great, they didn't make the playoffs.
Everybody's everybody can be moved on. When you don't make
the playoffs with a roster with that talent, there's no
reason high ranking offensiveness. There's no reason that Kellen Moore
if now, if Mike McCarthy wanted him, which I don't believe,
because you gotta have somebody after all those years, so
you feel comfortable with as an offensive coordinator. And this
(01:55:20):
is the beginning of the end. I'm telling you it's
a bad look. No, I don't care what I know.
You like him, what he did, and you can talk
about all the numbers. They didn't win. They didn't they
didn't put up the numbers against the good teams. So
all those numbers and all that stuff, Chris, none of
it matters because when it came time, they couldn't beat
the New York Jets, when it came time, they couldn't
(01:55:43):
get a touchdown in Philadelphia. Those are the games I
look at. I don't want to hear that they were
led the league in totally don't care. It's about the points.
It's not about not good. The defense wasn't good. No,
the offense wasn't good. Prisingly with all those names, the
defense didn't get it done. All I'm saying is let
them hire, let them hire who he wants. And I
(01:56:04):
just I don't believe in that. That's just me. You've
hated on every single person today, No, not at all.
Tom Brady, Lebron James, hate, Dwayne Wade, Mike McCarthy. This
is unbelievable. No, but I might be a hit boat.
Record was Elijah? You said Elijah's gone now because you
(01:56:26):
called he couldn't get out of here fast enough. My good.
I've never seen him scurry out of here like that.
You're gonna say that was on me. What else could
he be? Me and Elijah quality. If you just called
me Bobby and kept it rolling and didn't even think
about it, I would be upset. God, get that little
spiel about how loving you are. Come on, man, it's Elijah.
(01:56:49):
Can you forget that? Kimps, It's called my name right.
A couple
