Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's nice eyes, Dany, i'nelling yourazy Boston's News Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
All right, we're talking about the latest controversy that it's
I think it's interesting. I don't think it's critical, but
I do think it's instructive, and it is the controversy
that has swirled around Washington for the last twenty four
to thirty six hours. I think most of you know
of what I speak, and we will we will tell
(00:28):
you that today at that congressional hearing the Democrats, we're
in full throat. This was Chuck Schumer in which he's
trying to regain his footing as the leader of the
Democratic Party. This actually came along at a good time
(00:50):
for Chuck Schumer. This Schumer was not at the committee
hearing today, but this was his comment today. This is
cut number twenty one, please robs.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yesterday, it was report awarded that classified war plans were
leaked by the Secretary of Defense over unsecured text messages.
These text exchanges, confirmed by the administration as authentic, included
the Defense Secretary, the National Security Advisor, the CIA director,
(01:19):
the Vice President of the United States, and unintentionally a
journalist with no security clearance for the Defense Secretary to
coordinate war plans in such a haphazard and dangerous way
puts our national security, our troops, and every single American
at risk. They intentionally put highly classified information on an
(01:44):
unclassified device. Every single Senator, Democrat and Republican and independent
must demand accountability. I am calling for a bipartisan investigation
in the Senate of this mishandling. I am also calling
for the Defense ig to fully investigate.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Chuck Schum was worried about the safety of every American
that somehow I think the hoodies are going to come here.
He was worried about the safety of Americans as people
were flooding across the border, not only illegally, but also
coming across the border with mal intentions towards the United States.
Just the hyperbole of Schumer, it's just it's beyond belief.
(02:37):
And maybe that's why the Democrats want to get rid
of him. I don't know, but that's fine. Of course.
The Speaker of the House, as you would expect, took
a very different point of view. This is Speaker Mike Johnson,
a Republican. The Speaker of the House cut twenty four Rob.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
Well, look, the White House came out with this statement.
I think within the last hour somebody handed me what
they said. They clarified there were no no war plans discussed,
there was no classified material scent on that thread. The
White House counsels looking into the matter, looking into how
this other number was inadvertently added. Obviously that was a
mistake and a serious one. But I just want to say,
(03:15):
I mean, thanks to President Trump and his strong leadership
and all the everybody on that group chat. The leaders
on that group chat are extraordinary people. I know them
all personally. They're patriots. They're doing a great job for
the country, and that was a successful mission. I mean,
we're taking out who the terrorists. That's what the American
people expect the administration to do, to restore peace through
(03:35):
strength and to act decisively. So look, they've acknowledged that
there was an error and they're correct in it. And
I would have asked the same thing at the Biden administration.
I don't think anyone should have lost their job over
that because an errant number found its way onto a
dialogue between leaders. It's a mistake, but we got to
correct it going forward, and they will.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yeah, Schuber made it sound as if you said they
leaked the information. They leaked the information to the editor
in chief of The Atlantic, Senator Schumer, Place Warren and
vall River. Warren, you're next to nice. I appreciate you
waiting through the news, buddy, Go right ahead, Hey.
Speaker 5 (04:13):
Dan, Yeah, I'm going to take a thirty thousand foot
view on this because I've been working and I really
don't know all of the story. But if there is
wrong win, then there should be accountability, you know, and
I mean it. You know, it just amazes me that,
(04:37):
you know, you have the editor of a paper, you know,
who doesn't have clearance, you know, receiving that information.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well, it's also it's it's ironic in that the fellow
Jeff Goldberg, who is the editor in chief of the
The Atlantic Monthly, which is really a magazine, h he
has no friend of the administration. And so it wasn't
as if Pete Hegseth said, uh, let's let's let's put
(05:06):
I don't know, you know, some conservative journalist on here
and and this will show they'll see the behind the
scenes about how brilliant. No it was they goofed up.
It was the last person.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Probably it was a mess up in exactly you know,
The one thing that I would want to find out,
and it was brought up by another caller in the
previous hour, is that you know, this app was used
by the Biden administration. And if it was used by
the Biden administration, how much information was leaked out by them?
Speaker 2 (05:43):
I don't know, but but we do know based upon
what happened this week. And again that becomes one of
those what about this, uh, the Biden administration, that's over,
so the one we have to worry about. We're going
to just tighten up the security here. Look, the the
Trump administration is fortune and that they apparently had a
very successful attack. They hit the hooties hard. The Biden
(06:05):
administration hadn't hit them, and hadn't hit them hard in
a long time, if they ever did. And the editor
in chief of the magazine The Monthly, which who is
the Atlantic, I should say, who is no friend of
the Trump administration, did the right thing and didn't break
(06:27):
the story in advance of the attack. Didn't have much
time to break the story either, but he chose not to.
So the President should say, look, you know, I'm no
fan of Atlantic Monthly, and I'm no fan of the
editor in chief, but he did the right thing, and
he realized the importance of this information. We're going to
make sure this doesn't happen.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Against Yeah, but this has nothing to do with writer
Republican Democrat. I mean, the app obviously needs to be
fixed or they have to go with another app that doesn't.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
They gotta find something, Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
Look wet such information.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
As I understand it, it wasn't leaked out, either intentionally
or unintentionally. Someone. It would be like if if you
and I and four or five buddies were were thinking
about I don't know, you know, uh going out next
weekend and uh and having dinner together and then watching
March Madness, and I called you and we were two
or three other people on the phone, and then somehow
(07:27):
I inadvertently put my wife on the phone, not knowing it,
and all of a sudden, you know, I I said,
you know and my wife.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
My point is, My point is like if it was
used by the previous administration, and you know, you know,
information like you know, like text were out, you know, and.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Whether someone someone basically well basically someone put this put
this guy's number in on the call list. Yeah, have
you been have you ever been on a zoom call. I.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
I guess what I'm saying is like if the if
the if the previous administration used it, and information like
this was out there, then the argument is new is moved.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
All right, fair enough, fair enough one. I appreciate it
as always, Thanks for hanging out through the news. I
appreciate it. Thank you much. Okay, thank you doctor you
Soon we'll be right back on Night's side on the
other side of this very quick. This is the quick break,
coming right back one line six, one seven.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Now back to Dan Ray live from the Window World
night Side Studios. I'm WBZ News Radio.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
All right, I gotta keep rolling. He's gonna go to
Paul in Dorchester. Paul, you were next on Nightside.
Speaker 7 (08:45):
Welcome, Hello Dan, and uh hi Paul. You know, can
I say the news ain't what it used to be?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
You know you should say the news isn't what it
used to be? Go ahead, Paul.
Speaker 7 (08:58):
Wow, I'm just trying to be a little humorous.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
But I got it. I got it me too.
Speaker 7 (09:05):
But not everybody does, believe me. You don't hear what
a success the mission was. You don't hear that our
shipping lane was virtually closed after hundreds of attacks on
our navy ships. You never heard of it. You never
heard about it. That they're using all this sophisticated military
(09:29):
equipment that Joe Biden left them over in Afghanistan. You know,
this information I believe is of questionable origin. After three
years of balloonhead Adam Schiff coming out with Russia, Russia, Russia,
and you got the steel Darcia. You know, they never
(09:49):
looked into ben Ghazi, the Afghanistan debacle with thirteen people
did get killed. Never mind, what if? Okay, you know
this is all from like an opposition party they are
to just changed their names to the demon rat opposition Party.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
No, no, they're the Democratic Party. I just want to
back you up on a couple of things, if you
don't mind. According to the White House, since twenty twenty three,
hoodie terrorists attacked US Navy warships one hundred and seventy
four times and attacked commercial shipping vessels one hundred and
(10:36):
forty five times, and as a result, seventy five percent
of US flagged ship ships had been forced to navigate
the south around the southern coast of the Cape of
Good Hope.
Speaker 7 (10:51):
I believe in the rest of the world too.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
And the rest of the world too. And by the way,
there were thirteen US Service personnel killed in that depacal
in Kabul in August of twenty twenty one. There were
also one hundred and sixty four Afghans who were killed
that day. And then there were people who were holding
onto airplanes for their life and dropping to their death
(11:14):
after the plane had reached you know, a couple thousand
feet so.
Speaker 7 (11:19):
And to this day there's two and a half million
girls that aren't being allowed to go past the sixth grade.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Over there by the way. But by the way, if Paul,
were you listening to our nine o'clock hour by any
chance tonight, I don't know, Yes, sir, did you hear
the woman who we had on the American who's working
in Kabul trying to help out that population.
Speaker 7 (11:42):
I heard part of it. I didn't get, don't I didn't.
But I'm telling you the people he left behind and
what they're going through.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Yeah, no, I agree. All I'm just saying is that,
don't hear. All I was going to suggest, Paul, was
that you and others whom I'd have missed the nine
o'clock hour tonight. We talked with Joe Kornetsky, who is
a Massachusetts native graduated from Harvard and Brandeis and she
is over there in Afghanistan running a program called Homestead
(12:16):
Afghanistan to try to help farmers in Afghanistan learn how
to be more efficient so they can feed their own people.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
It's just an interesting story.
Speaker 7 (12:28):
I'm sad to say she's doing five.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
She is. Well, that's that's if you listen to the hour,
go to Nightside and demand tomorrow and you listen to
the hour. She's an amazing young woman. The Taliban are
tolerating her being there because they feel that she is
helping the country. So just just it said you mentioned
in Afghanistan. I wanted and we spent about an hour
(12:53):
on it from nine to ten. I wanted to share
it with you, Okay, go right.
Speaker 7 (12:56):
I can still remember Obama on TV with people in
army jumpsuits beheading people, and I can't expect much more
from those barbarians than what they have done in the past.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
So it's, uh, it's that's true, horrific, horrific, horrific, and
I'm hoping that, uh that the attack on the Hoodies
the other day on March fifteenth is effective, and I
hope it wiped them out. And I hope if they
resupply and rearm, we take them out again.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
Was taken out. Two big guys were taken out, you know,
and and they hide him, you know, the other one
that they got, he was high. Where was he hiding?
The coward in a hospital in the surgical ward.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Well they hide, Yeah, they hide there because they feel
that there. It's sort of like that they're never going
to be attacked. Well, these are at least the side. Yeah,
all right, Hey, Paul, do me a favorite. Keep calling
the show. I appreciate your conversation. Thank you much.
Speaker 7 (13:57):
Hey, God Bluss, we need we need some news.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Well, well, if you listen to Night Side, you're gonna
get the news, and I'm gonna give it you straight,
and I'm going to give it to you every night
the same way I had my opinions. All right, right back,
Thanks much, Thanks man, Thanks thanks Paul. Talk to you soon.
Let me go to Gary in Rulburg. Gary, want to
(14:21):
get you in here before we break for the news
at the bottom of the hour.
Speaker 6 (14:24):
Go ahead, Gary, Well I'm making fast. I'm proud of you.
The fact that you pointed out about Schuma, how he
didn't speak up about, you know, the migrants coming across
and so forth, and he made Trump I actually just
look good. Uh, you know, because I always think of
you as a non Trump You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Yep, yeah, Well I am trying to look at it
in a way in which, Okay, was there a mistake made, Yeah,
but it's like there was really no there was no
harm done here. The raid went and give the guy
from the magazine credit. He didn't. He didn't put the
(15:02):
story out there, so there's nothing. You know, the Trump
people tend to be they take no prisoners, and I
guess that's successful in many ways, and having seen what
he's been through, I can understand that. But they would
be smarter to say, look, we don't agree with the
editor of this magazine, The Atlantic Monthly, but he restrained
himself and didn't break this story before the attack, which
(15:24):
we appreciate because he recognized it might have put our
US pilots in danger. So you know, there's nothing wrong
with giving your opponent an occasional pay. He did the
right thing.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
Very good. Hey, By the way, I just want you
to know before I go, I just want you to
know your first hour. You guys have been doing this
out well over a year, the first hour for a guest. Yeah, right, Okay,
who's done to that?
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Marita, No, it was a management decision. We've actually been
doing it almost two years. They they wanted to have
a transition between the news portion of the broadcast day.
In effect, WBZ from midnight until eight o'clock at night
is an all news station. Nightside is the only talk
(16:14):
show on the station, and I think that they felt
that going from all news directly to the talk show.
I wasn't particularly in agreement with that decision when it
was made, I'll be honest with you, but I've grown
accustomed to it. And some nights we get four, you know,
A plus guests. Some nights we get you know, one
(16:34):
A plus guest and three B plus guests or whatever,
and everyone in a while we get a clunker. But
you know, when Marita's turning four guests five nights a week.
And I make some suggestions and contributions that too. And
it's also easy in that people who we might not
want to put on the radio for an hour, we
can if it's a charity, if it's a medical situation,
(16:56):
to make people aware of it's work looking very well
for us, I must say so. I'm willing to admit
that something that was kind of I viewed it as
a decision that was made for us. I think has
turned out to be a positive.
Speaker 6 (17:11):
I just want you to know it's the most outstanding
hour of your four hours. I listen every time each night,
and I have to say one thing is too important
to you and everybody. The first guest with her phone
numberut what she's doing. You got to give it out
all through the show, all the time, because people are
going to jump on that phone number or website and
(17:32):
this that a couple of million people, that's gonna be
up to ten million in another year.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
When you say the first guest, the first guest was
Jill tonight at nine o'clock. We don't give out the
phone number until nine o'clock because we don't take phones
in that phone calls in that first hour, you know that.
Speaker 6 (17:48):
Right, right, they're warned about the food food.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Oh the oh oh, I see esther Cohne who was
about the flash food. Yeah, she was a website. She
doesn't have a she she doesn't have a phone number.
She was a website and we did.
Speaker 6 (18:05):
Got to give that out as much as possible because
it was too valuable. People got to jump on it
because what was it again, World Travel?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
No, No, it was something called the it's an app.
It's a free app. If if we're talking about the
same thing. It was called flash Food, and they're in
partnership with Stop and Shop here in Massachusetts, but with
other uh grocery stores around the country, and and and
(18:33):
you can uh just download the app. It's called it's
called a flash food all one word. And it then
makes available to you that that there is some food
which ordinarily these supermarkets would dispose of because it was
close to its you know, used by date, you know
best buy and all of that. That a lot of
(18:55):
that food can be used even after use by date.
And these grocery stores are putting the food up at
fifty percent of the cost, so people can get fresh
food at a remark at a substantially reduced price. That's
what you're talking about.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
I'm looking at it for right now. It's outstanding. Keep
up the good work. That's one of the best guests
you ever had.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Okay, thanks Gary, appreciate it, Thank you as always. Thank you. Okay,
So we are going to take a pause. I don't
want to short change anyone. And I got some open
lines here. I want to know, are you concerned about this?
The Democrats are. They are in full combat mode. I'm
(19:40):
waiting for the first impeachment resolution to be filed. And
I think the Republicans they conducted a successful strike on
Yemen on the Hoodies, who are backed by Iran have
been attacking shipping as it tries to move through the
Red Sea up to the Suez Canal for years and
(20:01):
they hit them hard. Uh, And there was a compromise
of a phone call, and the Republicans need to own
it and say we're going to make sure that never
happens again and move past it. Six seven, two, five
four ten thirty. I got a line open there, and
I got a line open at six one seven nine
(20:21):
three one ten thirty. If you agree with me, I'd
love to hear you tell me that. If you disagree
with me, that's fine too. And if you are a
big Trump supporter and you think I'm being too tough
on the administration, feel free to make your point. If
you feel I'm not being tough enough on the administration,
you can make your point as well. Back on Night's Side,
(20:43):
last half hour heading to midnight. I love it. By
the way, when we sign off every night, Rob will
tell me, I'll see the phone is ringing. I say,
was that personal? They want to go on the air.
People must not realize it's eleven thirty one. We only
have twenty nine minutes left. Fill up these lines. Come
right back on night Side.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
You're on night Side with Dan Ray on WBZ, Boston's
news radio.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
By the way, the female callers have been missing an
action on this one tonight. It's amazing sometimes when we
talk about these issues. Uh, feel free, ladies, jump on
board and I'll give you the ladies line right now. Well,
this is available six one, seven, nine three, one ten thirty.
(21:32):
That's all you going to dial in, ladies. Six one, seven, nine, three,
one ten thirty. Let's go next too, John and Boston. John,
You're next one night Side, Go ahead.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
Thanks Dan, Bob Dan. I'm not sure this was the
mistake of his intentional I was listening to Director Ratcliffe
of the CIA. He said when he took old that
signal was already uploaded onto his computer and that they
use signal all around Washington, DC. A lot of politicians
just some cheap app But I found it interesting that
(22:03):
it was already uploaded his computer and suddenly mister Goldberg
gets access this information. I don't know. I just don't
know if it was a mistake or was intentional. I
don't think. I think there needs to be more look
needs to be looked into a lot more to decide
what exactly is going on. But I think it's good.
It's finally seeing that Democrats are concerned about national security
(22:24):
after they let the boards be opened, and over one
hundred four hundred thousand commiss Chinese men have come, across,
hundreds of millions of illegals, gang members have come. You know,
we get the bosses of Sanctuary of Sydney, and suddenly
suddenly the Democrats now and mister Schumer is concerned about
the safety of our soldiers. That's interesting. I just find
(22:45):
it really very interesting.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Yeah, well, I can only tell you that Schumer Schumer
to say there's another sound by him which it would
hear from him, which I think is fun interesting. This
is Chuck Schumer. Schumer was back on his heels because,
as I'm sure you know, the progressives in the Democratic
(23:10):
Party think that he folded his tent, threw his cards
in on the debt seialing issue, and that he should
have allowed the government to shut down. He made a
decision that from a practical point of view, he didn't
want to be blamed for that. But you had all
of these looney Democrats, I mean the aocs, just as
(23:30):
there were looney Republicans. There are looney Democrats who get
elected from these districts. They were going after Schumer and
they were talking. We talked last night about how Bernie
Sanders got up and walked, tried to walk out of
an interview with Jonathan Carl when Karl wanted to ask
him whether an AOC should run for the US Senate,
which would mean a primary challenge of Chuck Schumer. And
(23:51):
so today this was Chuck Schumer. This is another bite
from Schumer. And I'm gonna have Rob play cut twenty two,
which I think reinforces what you're just saying.
Speaker 8 (24:00):
Cut twenty two, Rub and send any Senate Republican who
was up in arms years ago about emails and unsecured
servers should be outraged by the Secretary of Defense's carelessness.
What if Russian intelligence gained access to this text thread
and shared it with their Iranian allies. What if the
(24:20):
Iranians had shared it with their allies the Hoodies terrifying thought,
putting American lives, the lives of our armed forces in jeopardy.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Well, first of all, that didn't happen. And number two,
I'm not sure what the Hoodies would be able to do.
What their military capability is, John, I think it's their
ragtag group that are supplied with weapons from Iran. But
I don't know that they even returned fire over the
weekend on March fifteenth when they got hit and got
(24:54):
hit hard.
Speaker 6 (24:55):
So whatever, Well, I think it's good that I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
No, I'm just saying. Schumer was the guy who, remember
threatened a couple of United States Supreme Court justices on
the steps of the US Supreme Court they had opened
up the whirlwind and they would pay the price.
Speaker 6 (25:16):
I mean, he's a primer. Donald Trump's being lack of
days go again. Donald Trump was advised by Adam and
Mike Rodgers that the NSA of the NSA that he
was being inspired on in the Trump Tower. Donald Trump,
I believe is concerned about leaks and concerned about security,
So to imply that he is not is just goes
against the facts.
Speaker 9 (25:37):
And you know, the.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
Whole the whole thing with here is Trump be inspired on.
They released Trump's tax records though obviously someone has inside
information that's being released.
Speaker 10 (25:50):
And so you know that we should.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Be grateful that the Hoodies were attacked because all those
ships go I think I think it's twenty thousand miles
to go around the horn that raises the class, all
the goods for everyone in the country to buy. And
also they ran supporting them. We're in grave danger now
and to apply that that Donald Trump is being lack
(26:14):
of days ago about security, I mean, we all remember
Joe Biden looking at his watch and they're bringing the
dead soldiers back from Afghanistan. And by the way, Taylor
Vargas was the soldier who had the sites on that
bomber at the abbey gate and he was denied permission
by three or four different securities above him to shoot
(26:36):
that bomber and all those people died. And in addition
to all the soldiers that died, forty were wounded once
up again their arms blown off the liquor and they
were on Colosmi Bak, So.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
You know they were also and John, there were also
I believe one hundred and sixty four Afghan civilians who
were killed in that in that moment, and we shouldn't
forget them either.
Speaker 6 (27:01):
Absolutely didn't. I listened to Sarah. Sarah Adams is an
expert on terrorism, Dan people can look it up. The
talk now is they're planning on attack by Osambidlan's son.
He's getting all these groups together, an attack of maybe
fifty or sixty thousand casualties. I'm just concerned for Boston
because we've already experienced enough here in Boston.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
And I thank Yeah, I think you're right on that.
And I also think that I also think that as
we approach the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Constitution,
not the Constitution Decoration of Independence in twenty twenty six,
Boston is going to be a glowing target, a glowing target.
(27:44):
And you know, hey, guess what I think we're dealing
with it. Let's see how it works out, okay. And
I just I think you made a lot of sense
in your in your phone call tonight, John, and I
thank you for calling a little earlier than you often do.
Appreciate it. Thank you so much, Thank you that.
Speaker 10 (28:00):
Thank you to you.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Later, we'll take a quick No, no, we're not going
to take a quick break. We're going to keep rolling here.
Steve is an Addimborough. Steve, you don't have to wait.
You're a special call and go ahead, Steve.
Speaker 11 (28:11):
Dan, thank you for taking my call. Great topic tonight.
I'm a little bit I'm fifty to fifty on this.
Fifty percent with you that if the Republicans did make
a mistake with this situation, then they should own up
to it. I would agree with you on that, But
the other fifty percent of me says, hould the brakes
(28:34):
not necessarily? This could be another attempt to try to
divide Trump's inner core and his cabinet against Donald Trump,
like they recently tried to do with Elon Musk, by
trying to put a wedge in between, to try to
create some disruption from the inside, to create distrust and disharmony,
(28:57):
to create a disharmonious relationship with all of them together
and feed off Trump's ego, and uh, that very well
may be.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Well, I don't think so, because I think that that
that Trump today was pretty straightforward. He was asked about
the situation, and he simply said, let me see what
we're talking about here. Now, let me let's if I
I've got a couple of sound bites and there's one
(29:31):
that I need to play for you to reinforce or
to set your mind a little bit at ease, Rob,
And once you play, cut number one for this was
President Trump when asked about this whole controversy, Cut one, please, Rob.
Your reaction to the story The Atlantic that said that
some of your top count officials and aids have been
(29:53):
discussing very sense of material from signaling, and included an
Atlantic reporter for that.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
What is your response to that?
Speaker 12 (29:59):
In our vision, I don't know anything about it. I'm
not a big fan of The Atlantic. It's to me
it's a magazine that's going out of business. I think
it's not much of a magazine. But I know nothing
about it. You're saying that they had what.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
They were using signal to pour date on sets of
materials and having to do with what, having to do
with what? What were they talking about with whose?
Speaker 10 (30:21):
Who?
Speaker 12 (30:21):
Did you mean the attack on the hood is well,
it couldn't have been very effective, because the attack was
very effective. I can tell you that I don't know
anything about it. You're telling me about it for the
first time.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Now. Compare that conversation that Trump had President Trump had
with reporter. Compared that conversation to the inter change the
exchanges that President Biden had with reporters during his four years.
That was a thoughtful conversation. He treated that reporter respectfully.
(30:55):
He wanted to make sure he understood the questions compared
to you know what, where you know Biden was calling
people dog faced pony boys, and the media was was
giggling over it, and they were asking what his favorite
ice cream was.
Speaker 11 (31:11):
It's a totally different administration. You've got a beautiful White
House Press secretary that involves everybody in the press school.
You don't have someone who's condescending and fluttering her eyelashes
at you and talking down to you and making everything
about race, gender, and sexuality. And you know, it's a
(31:35):
very open and transparent administration compared to the previous. And
I agree with you one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Yeah, I think I think you nailed it there, Steve,
I got you in. I got to take a break.
As always, thank you for your loyalty to Night's side.
Speaker 6 (31:47):
Thank you, sir always, Dan, thank you, Good night.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Good night everyone, Good night Steve. Okay, I got bill
in Pennsylvania, done in Indiana, and I got room six
one seven two thirty. Couple there one line at six
one seven, nine thirty. And so far none of my
female listeners have weighed in on this, Ladies. It's an
issue of war and peace. If you want to congratulate
(32:13):
the Trump administration for for really hitting the hooties and
hitting them hard, you can. If you want to call
the Trump administration out for not making sure that their
conversation stayed within the Trump administration. If you want to
give a compliment to the editor in chief of this magazine,
The Atlantic Monthly, for choosing not to have a story broken,
(32:38):
which you could have easily done, which might have jeopardized
the military mission, that's okay. If you want to commend
the Democrats for waking up, you could do that too,
although I think they're they're distraining themselves here a little.
There was a lot of indignation today that I saw
at that Senate Committee hearing, which didn't didn't ring true
(33:01):
to me, But that's my opinion. I'd love to hear. Yous.
You have the numbers, all you got to do is
dial We'll be back with Bill and Dawn right after this.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Now back to Dan ray Mine from the Window World
Nightside Studios on WBZ the news radio.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
All let's go. I gonna get everyone in, I hope.
Let me go to Bill in Pennsylvania. Bill, you were
next door nightside your thoughts? Bill, Gord ahead, how you doing?
Speaker 9 (33:27):
Dan? Thanks a lot. I'm sorry I haven't called more often,
but nobody's invented a bluetooth that I can call in
and still drive the truck at the same time.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Okay, Nope, as long as you're listening to go ahead, Bill,
thanks for calling in tonight. Go ahead.
Speaker 9 (33:41):
Waltz needs to go for the simple reason. If you
tell me why, for the simple reason, If you are
going to be in the cabinet and you're gonna keep
this publication in your digital rolodex, that's what you got
a publicist for. Let them take care of those phone calls.
(34:03):
You don't you don't keep this person in your digital
rolodex for this reason?
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Really so so so why would you not. I'm kind
of surprised at that.
Speaker 9 (34:19):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
I know that he's not what you'd call friendly to
the administration.
Speaker 9 (34:26):
This is beyond not friendly. I gave up on read.
Now you see, I get like a news feed to
my phone.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (34:32):
The last, the last Atlantic article that I read was
when they put something stupid out saying using the word
tomboy is racist. That's how stupid they are. And that's
when I quit reading anything from them. Okay, And given
what the garbage they've been connected to, the hoaxes, and
(34:58):
if you're in the cabinet and you have the senior rollodex,
no you're a weekly, you're out.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Okay. Well, President Trump did not decide that today. I
mean President Trump basically said that Waltz is going to
stay and that he'll learn from the mistake. Is what
he said. Just so you know, Oh, I'm just telling
you that's what he said. I mean, will agree or disagree,
(35:27):
but I don't think that he had him in there
and intentionally. So you're saying you think it was a mistake,
but it is a mistake that cannot be tolerated. Fair enough, Okay,
I got you. Fair enough.
Speaker 9 (35:40):
Okay, that's basically it.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
All right, thank you talk, So here we go. Let's
keep rolling down in Indiana and don welcome back. How
are you, sir?
Speaker 10 (35:51):
I'm just great. Thanks for asking. I'm going to just
start off by accepting your invitation, and yes, I want
to commend Jeffrey Goldom for his h his article and
his writing. I think he is a thoughtful journalist who
did the right thing here, as we would expect from
a thoughtful journalist. So anyway, so I'm going to commend him.
(36:15):
I'm going to talk a second about the signal app, which,
as I read today and yesterday, is something that indeed, uh,
you know, government officials have been using, but not in
all times and at all places. Steve Whitcoff was in
Moscow when he got in on that uh that call
(36:36):
on the signal app and I think that's a reason
to be truly concerned about the security of at all. Certainly,
this whole thing was a mistake, but a damning mistake.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
So what So what is your what's your bottom line?
Speaker 13 (36:51):
What?
Speaker 2 (36:52):
What do you what do you want President Trump to do?
Speaker 10 (36:55):
Well, I'm not going to tell him what to do,
because he's not going to listen to me anyway.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Okay, but you said the citizen you have right to experience.
Tell me what do you think what you'd like to
see happen?
Speaker 10 (37:06):
Well, obviously things need to be tightened up. And I
think generally this demonstrates a selection process of people for
significant roles who really may not be fully up to
the role.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
So who would have been who would who would that be?
Speaker 10 (37:25):
Well, you know, if Walls indeed did, as we have heard,
you know, set up this guy in the the chat,
you know, that's the kind of thing that obviously should
not have been done.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
No, it wasn't set up by Walls. I mean, I
don't know where you're getting that from. Apparently they're saying
they're still trying to figure out how he was included.
Have you ever put someone on when when you work
on yourself phone?
Speaker 10 (37:51):
Yeah, I can mess up. We've got it up. But
got the message from Walls saying do you want right
on that factually?
Speaker 2 (38:01):
But what I'm saying is, however that happened, I don't
think it was intentional, number one, And obviously if it does, no,
so if it was intentional, you fire the guy. Okay,
simple as that not intentional. So now it's a mistake.
How it happened. I'd love to know how it happened.
Uh and uh, and then you move from there. That's
(38:23):
that's what what what I think you want to do.
But I think the the Democrats are in high dungeon here, uh,
and they're looking at this, as you know, this would
be another opportunity for them just to win some political points.
The raid went well, they it was effective. It's like
no harm, no fund.
Speaker 10 (38:43):
To say something. This may indeed have been a significant
brave and of course it was successful. But it's hardly
the first. You know, since the Who's began their attacks
on shipping, there have been two hundred and sixty raids
on the hoodies by the US and its allies. So
you know, this is just one more.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
This was the first one to the best of my
knowledge of the Trump administration. Yes, yes, okay, so let's see.
Let's see how it does. Well, let's see how it does.
I mean the test will be the hoodie still an
operational uh, two months from now, we'll see. Don thank
(39:22):
you for the call the challenging.
Speaker 10 (39:24):
One more thing, please please, one more thing. I'd like
to say. The selection of using signal, which indeed should
not be used at all times in all places, creates
a problem for securing the federal records. Meetings of consultations
between the cabinet members the.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
Biden administration also used signal dawn just so you know. Okay,
so I think it's time to move on and find
it better. I would agree with you in that. Okay,
I gotta run. Thank you very much. I lean we're
flat out of time. You were kind to call. You
want to give me a quick response. We're running out
of time.
Speaker 13 (39:59):
Right, Well, you said you wanted women to call, and
I think the main I think Trump is very straightforward.
I think his focus is trying to get things done
and uh so, uh somebody overheard something.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
Okay, so you're you're kind of where I am on this.
I got to run, Aleen because Rob tells me I
got only got ten seconds left. Thank you for calling. Nonetheless,
thank you so much. Done for the night, everybody, Rob,
thank you, Marita, thank you. All dogs, all cats, all
pets go to heaven. That's my pal Charlie Rayes, who
passed fifteen years ago in February. That's all your pets
are who passed. They loved you and you love them.
(40:38):
I do believe you'll see them again. We'll see again
tomorrow night at eight o five, and I'll see you
on Facebook in about a minute
