With many biotech companies tightening their belts, Vertex's Pharma in
the Seaport is swimming in the other direction.

Massachusetts is now going to be the home to the
biggest biotech firm in the world by square footage.

That's something Governor morri Heely is pretty happy about. Booyed
by FDA approvals on pain and cystic fibrosis meds, the
former company is breaking ground on an expansion of the
Jeffrey Leiden Center in the Seaport. The new building will
have space for up to five hundred more workers. It
was named after former CEO Jeffrey Leiden, who was on hand.
