Boston's Northern Avenue Bridge Slated For Demolition

The rusty span of bridge across the four point Channel
can be polarizing for every fin.

I haven't heard anybody that I've talked to you about
it called an I saw it.

Speaker 3 (00:08):

But the debate might soon be over, as the city
files early plans to get rid of the bridge entirely.
Most of the people I talked to actually wanted to
keep it there.

Speaker 4 (00:17):
Certainly a reminder of what this area used to be.
You know, there's more to life than luxury congos and hotels.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
But the city has no inclination to repair it.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
It dates back to nineteen oh eight and it's been
out of service for twenty eight years short of a refurbishing.
Many I talked who wanted to replace it with a
new pedestrian bridge.

Speaker 5 (00:34):
I think another bridge, and maybe they could do some
like independent restaurants or like cute cafes.
