Tulip Mania Takes Over In Wellesley

'tis the season of tulip mania and Wellesley.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
This is our third year doing it. It's grown so
large every year, which is fantastic.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
The first year, around three thousand people made their way
to the Massachusetts Horticultural Society's garden at Elmbank for a
chance to pick some tulips. Last year that number doubled,
and this year they're expecting more than seven thousand to
show up.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
When you walk in, you're going to see our display
field and that's just good for pictures and a real
wow factor.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Ellison Dush, the director of Education and Guest Experience, is
telling me about the pick your own stems event.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
So we have all the tools you need on site,
and we have our sleeves that will send you home with.
So while you can come bring a picnic, get pictures,
you're still going to walk away with tulips.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
She says, now's the best time to come and pick
the tulips because they're only in Bloom a couple of days,
possibly a few weeks, depending on the weather.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Right now, we've got tickets out through next weekend in Wellesley.
