Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Yeah, let's talk about our weekend there, Gandhi.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Yes, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It was so fun. It was just the best.

Speaker 4 (00:11):
So last week we were talking about the fact we
were going to drive three hours north of New York City,
right outside of Albany. There's a farm there called June Farms,
run by this really really great guy, Matt. Matt Baumgartner
used to he used to run restaurants and bars and

(00:31):
things in Albany as I as I understand, but he
got rid of all of it and just bought his
one hundred and fifty acre farm with the incredible animals,
an amazing family of people that worked there. This place
was gorgeous, unbelievable. We had the best time. We drove up.
I picked up Gandhi in my pickup truck brand new,
bought it just for the weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
And I'm keeping it absolutely So.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
We drove up to the farm in the pickup truck
and we just I don't even know how to describe
this place.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
I mean, so you do it. I mean, you can
paint a picture with words better than me.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
It was I feel like it was indescribable. I looked
at the pictures before we went, but I didn't do
too much of a deep dive. And when we got there,
it was so much more beautiful than I ever would
have guessed it would be based on what I saw online.
The land is incredible, the trees, the actual facilities where
you can stay. They have all different types of places.
They have like a lodge and then airstreams and a

(01:24):
little timber town. They have this bar called the Pony
Bar that might be one of the most beautiful bars
I've ever.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Sat in in Yeah, Daniel, it's a barn.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
They turned into this beautiful bar with a patio overlooking
the pastures.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Anyway, go ahead, Sorry, No.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
The pizza was incredible. The piepa were incredible. It was
just somehow I don't know how they did this. The
sun set for like four hours. Oh wow, it was
just beautiful. I haven't seen something like this. I had
no idea this existed so close to us, and it
was just And by the way, all the people there,
they know it existed, they knew it existed. It was
packed and there are so many beautiful animals. And I

(02:01):
kept saying, Elvis, you have a pickup truck with the
put one of these in there and.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Just take she wanted she wanted to steal a sheep.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
You can, did you guys? The animals though, like you
get everything when we.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Touched the ones that were, you know, into being touched.
There's a little mini horse who's the cutest little thing ever.
His name's Winston. He's not really a fan of being touched.
He likes to nip a little bit at.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Like he's a nippy. He's a nippy.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
And uh, the goats, the the cattle, beautiful, the horses,
it was just even even the farm cats. So I'm
going to tell you. So we had a beautiful night.
We drank way too much and made some great friends.
A lot of listeners up there. They all knew. As
a matter of fact, we were on eighty seven driving
up toward Albany. We stopped arrest stop. This lady came out.

(02:45):
I said, oh my god, gondhy Elvis. It's we heard
your We heard you're coming up anyway, but this farm
is so beautiful and and I almost didn't want to
talk about it, I know, because I don't want people
to go, because I mean.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
It's going to be booked up now, and then.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
I tried to find another weekend in August and they're like, well, sorry,
you can come, we can go visit, you just can't
stay there. But two of the of the incredible accommodation
of sites, we're airstream trailers.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
We stayed in one. We shared a bed. Yes, we
slept together.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
And Elvis is a menace to society, by the way,
because first of all, he's like, oh, this is gonna
be my last drink, and then we're gonna go, and
like three drinks later, he's like, this is my last one.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Why are you rushing me?

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Why are you rushing me? So then we get back
to the airstream and we are laying in bed, and
of course it's like a sleepover when you're five years old.
No one's going to sleep. He finally goes to sleep,
and then in the middle of the night, in the
middle of the woods, we're hearing these weird noises. So
I get up to go see what it is. And
I thought he was asleep, and I was being very quiet.
I'm looking around. I don't say anything. I'm already terrified.

(03:49):
I turn around. He is sitting up like the freaking Exorcist. Girl,
and he looks at me and goes, you're going to die.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Nice way down now, Jesus in the middle of nowhere
in that woulds But yeah, frog, what's your what's your thoughts?

Speaker 5 (04:06):
So I'm looking at their calendar here on Friday night
it said it was country night from five to eleven.
They had free admission with a cowboy hat. Yep, yeah,
they gave his cowboy hats.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
They did.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
Oh, so you got your free admission with a cow Yeah.
Just checking the sea everyone there.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
There are a lot of people that go there who
are just locals and stuff that aren't staying there, and
they just they all know each other and we got
to meet them. And of course the people, like I said,
the people who work at June Farms are just so
delightful and uh, if you just do a search of
for a June Farms on Instagram. I did not post
anything because I didn't want I don't I was thinking,
I don't want to talk about them because I don't
want anyone to know they're there.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
I posted the crap out of it over the weekend.
But they're gone now, I'll go.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah, they're they're all story. Yeah, can you repost them? Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
Their cabins are unbelievable. These beautiful are great. Wow, unbelievable.
And it's dog friendly. People brought their dogs, were sitting
there inside and outside of eating dinner and dogs, tequila
shots and anyway, do.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
You need more than one day? Like, how long do
you think is to stay there? A couple of days?

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I would do a couple of days.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
We only had one night because we wanted to stay
another night, but they were booked, so we had to
get out. And I wrote a note to Matt, the owner,
and I said, I got to be honest with you.
I was a little emotional leaving your beautiful farm. I
was because it was the most beautiful sunset. And in
the morning I woke up. I was the only one
on the entire farm that was awake six am. I stumble,

(05:30):
you know, to the main area, and I've picked up
a couple of cups and things that people have left
out overnight. I cleaned up the area as if it
was my backyard. And it was so beautiful waking up
on a farm. So, if not June Farms, wherever you
live in this great country of ours, is there. If
there's a destination farm you can visit, go, go do that.

(05:50):
You owe it to yourself, just to get out of
the city. I can't see Scary there though, he would
be very awkward. I was going to ask, is there
any form of night life? I mean, I do want
a pet animals. I think they're beautiful, and I do
like to tail in the fresh air. But is there
anything else to do? Is like at night, like after dinner. Well,
we just talked about it. We were in the bar
and we were drinking and socializing and talking. No, it's

(06:10):
it's it's great. It's weird if you're in the middle
of nowhere, but you're not all Benny. Downtown Albany is
like five minutes away. Scary, Yeah, scary, You're fine. There's
a Chili's up the road.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
It's a place you wouldn't even want to even go
to a chili. You would want to sit by the
campfire and just hang out and drink and talk to
everybody who's there.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
It was amazing. No, they can't get in. I want
to go to June Farms even more.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
It's probably beautiful in the winter time too.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
I want to see do this the experiences I'm looking
at them, cow brushing, I want sterry to go the
cow brushingence, you need to go cow brushing.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Scarvy cows are so cute.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
And by the way, Elvis wakes up at six and
what do I hear at six o four?

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Wake up? Wake up? It's time to wake up.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
You know, I'm standing in the bed. Let's go with
the symbols.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
A lot of people are texting in they love June
far they've all been there, and a lot of people
are listening to us up there as well, and they
say they love living up there.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Anyway. It's just it's beautiful. What, Nate, Okay, do you
pay for the cow rushing or is that included?

Speaker 3 (07:10):
I think it's an experience that you you add on.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
So you're paying to do their work.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
It's like when I went to the plantation and I
had to pick beans, and I come back and the
guys like you get to get a few more in there, Like,
wait a.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Minute, I'm paying to pick I want to make this.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Cow here, Nate, it's forty dollars, it says, it's forty
dollars a person.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Now, hold on, hold on, it's for it says.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
Cowbrushing is not just about grooming farm animals. It's about
immersing yourself into the world of farming and animal care.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
How much just stooping the crap.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Out of the Jonah paid one hundred Those damn cows
were so cute. They were so cute, and there were
little babies and the mamas were like looking at them
and cleaning. Oh my god, they were so cute.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
It takes place rain or shine in a cupboard barn. Yeah. Well, look,
they're a business. I get it.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
If you see one cow looking in other account, you
got it. I think they put it on your bill.
But anyway, for us, it's just beautiful. It's it's kid friendly.
It's a great place, and you know, they do a
lot of things for the community. They're actually having a
Juneteenth celebration this week. Also on some Sundays, they set

(08:18):
aside the farm for kids who are living with autism,
and they make it very sensory friendly. I mean, I mean,
this place is they got it together. I've gone on
and on and on. It's just amazing. It's called June Farms,
and we want to thank them for their hospitality. Michelle
and Matt and everyone.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
We actually met Sarah. She made coffee for us on
Saturday morning. She used to work at the Bronx Zoo.
She lived in Queens. She used to take the bridge
every day to go to the zoo and she said,
you know, I just needed to move up up, So
she moved up there. Now she's living in this life
of you know, in the country, loving it.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Do you think we harassed them a little too much
because in retro especially, we were the last people at
the bar, and then we were the first people up
in the morning walking the property looking at things and
being like, where's the coffee?

Speaker 2 (09:04):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Yeah, I'm sure they don't want us back, but we're
coming back.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Because you were leaving. I mean, you wanted every single moment,
So I mean it makes sense.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
It I did. I got it. I got a tear
in my own when we left. I didn't want to leave.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
So anyway, when you're looking for a way to chance
ship gears, change your trajectory or do something totally different,
do something like this, go to a farm hang out
and that's it.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
That's all I have to say.
