Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the morning show.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
The New York Fashion Week is about to roll into town,
is it not? Is it heriot? I don't know. That's
a good question. It's always right after Labor Day, the
most fashionable in the radio industry. I you know, I
still get invited to a few shows every once in
a while, but I've never heard of It's not the
big shows, right, It's like, you know, the the up
and coming designers and stuff. I'd like to go. It's
(00:26):
a sixth to the letter. I wouldn't mind going, you know. Okay,
I'm want to go to one where David Beckham shows
though of course his wife's and they run out of
seats and you have to sit in his lap in
the front row. Oh darn it, No, you don't what
I want to do. I want to sit on a
front row, you know, on the on the on the walk,
(00:46):
and I want to take a little pad of paper
and make notes as they walk by. Yes, because that's
what they do. Yeah, we just received a text from
someone saying, you're invited to my New York Fashion Week
show on Saturday. So we have a listener. Who can
you find out who that is. That's so cool. Can
you talk eating for a second, Nate, Maybe give them
a call. Okay, yeah, you know, if you're in New
(01:06):
York and you know, Scary and I have this complaint.
Every year during fashion Week, it's impossible to get a
reservation in a lot of restaurants because they're all out there,
you know, doing their thing. I know that Odeon, our
favorite restaurant downtown is booked solid. They close it down
almost every other day. Oh yeah, Nate, Well, okay, Scary
and I went to a fashion week event one night,
but it's not clothes people would wear. Like this girl
(01:27):
walks down, She's got like cool whip containers hanging off
of her. I'm like, well what is this? And I
understand there's a certain element of art to it. What
they do is there is clothing in connection with those
cool whip pots or whatever they are containers, but they
accentuate with you know, stupid things. Did we go to
it the two exist of fashion show one year? There's
(01:51):
all guys, it was under a fashion show and all
it was a bunch of naked guys with their big
old dogs hanging out and stuff. Daniel, you were there
with us weren't you with us? So come on, I
don't think I remember that one. I sat on the
runway and making notes.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
They give you like a complimentary pair of underwear to
take home, and I'm like, okay, give me a double XL.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
I couldn't fit in the double XL.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
A little talking about what's going on down there, I'm
talking about the actual would fit around my waist.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
That looks like I'm muffin top. I know you did.
It's the worst. Uh So, anyway, what kind of fashion
show would we have during fashion week?
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (02:29):
I could see us doing like all sweats everything.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Oh yeah I have I have a black T shirt on. Yeah,
I fashion gas just one of those things. You know,
it's it's going on in the background, but we don't
really we don't really participate.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Well, I think that the big flex is rolling into
those things looking like a mom right, like Kanye does
it all the time. I think we could totally show
up just wearing sweatpants and like a hoodie and act
like we were supposed to be there.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah. Yeah, Well, there's just some things I guess we're
never going to participate in.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
All show up, I will shut up.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Scary, I bet they invite you back to to the
to Exist Uh fashion show. I heard they made bigger
underwear this year, they did.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
I want to see front row though, you got to
be front row. It's like, you know, I want to.
I want to pretend like I'm somebody you.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Know, Okay, you know what, and they are they want
you on their front row? Then if that's what it's
all about. Uh, like nineteen Evan, it's Evan. Let's see
what Evan's all right? Hey, Hi, I'm so doing great
now that we're talking to you. I love that you
sent us a text. So you're inviting us to your
New York Week fashion show? What is it? Yours? Are
(03:40):
these your designs?
Speaker 1 (03:42):
They are I'm doing twenty of my designs. They're all
inspired by my childhood home. So I ripped fabric off
of the walls, off of the couches, right, everything I could,
and I'm turning them into design.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Wait what's left? What's left of your home? She sounds
like you're wearing all of it? I mean this.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, my parents actually sold my childhood home and it
was like devastated. So I decide to turn it into
my runway show.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Wow, So what's it like to set up your own,
your own runway show during New York Fashion Week, because
that's something that we're not very very familiar with.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Tell us it's definitely very anxiety and do thing. I mean,
I can't complain too much because it is self induced,
like I did do this to myself. But I love it.
I mean it definitely is a lot of pressure and
I'm doing my fitting today so all my models are
coming in, But I mean, I love it. Once it
(04:41):
goes down the runway, that's like the greatest feeling.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Well scary, you should model for Evan, forget about it.
You wouldn't sell any clothes. So Gandhi, what do you think?
Speaker 4 (04:52):
How do you become part of fashion week?
Speaker 1 (04:55):
So it's pretty much just like having the hooks but
to go out and do it. But I have a
really amazing person who helped me with like publicity and
PR and he's been in the industry for a very
long time. His name is Scott So I met him
at a fashion show, actually attending one, and he just
believed in what I do and he's been helping me
(05:16):
get into fashion week ever since.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
That good for you. So I know there are a
lot of shows that go on every year at Fashion
Week here in New York City and you know, in
Paris whatever. But are you, like, is there a main
registry of like the shows that they organ the organization
sanctions and you're one of them? Is that is that real? Real?
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah, it's called the CFDA. It's the Council of Fashion
Designers of America. They have a calendar of all the
different designer showcases and you know where they're doing them
and everything like that. I usually make the bridal calendar,
which is in October and April. September is a little
harder to get in. I've been in the like adjacent
calendars for a couple of seasons, but we're working on it.
(05:59):
I've been e.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
That is so cool, Evan, You know what, I think
this could be out of how many years doing this show,
this is the first time we've actually had a conversation
with a real, live, bona fide designer who has a
spot on the September calendar. That is so cool. Congratulations
to you, Evan, Thank.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
You, And you could add all of your press and
interviews so I can say, oh, I was on the
Elvis Duran show.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
All right, Okay, another box checks, Hey, we're gonna I'm
gonna put you on hold. I want you, if you
don't mind, give your information to Diamond. And I don't know,
I just I think that's so cool. And I love
that we have a designer listening to us. This is
kind of wild. I love that.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
It's my honor. I listen to you guys every morning.
And remember, once you're on the list, you're on the
list for life. So there you go.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Excellent, excellent, well the best of Look do you say,
break a leg with a fashion show? I don't know
if that's proper? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Can I hope everyone breaks legs there?
Speaker 2 (06:59):
I hope you know you definitely, you'd definitely be on
page six in the post for that. All right, hold on, Evan,
hold on, give all your info to Diamond, and thanks
for listening to us. That is so cool. Yeah, yeah, Nate,
what's up?
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (07:11):
In the world that we live in where you can
stalk anybody with just Google, I think I found him.
Look at this stuff. This stuff's actually pretty great, I
mean stuff. What's the name of his house? What's it called?
I see those? Yeah, all those are nice, nice dresses
he makes. But what's the name of his Evin. I'm
not going to give his last name. It doesn't have
his house. I think he wants that to Evan Hirsch.
(07:34):
I think that's him. Okayst well maybe
